Before all the killer mains and noob killers lose their minds and start crying No One Escapes Death needs nerfed.
What NOED should be is Once the Doors are powered you get the exposed status if you are on Death hook. NOED doesn't help killers become better if all they run is NOED. They get looped all game long and only get two maybe three hooks all game long. Then bam let's get this guy on the hook and facecamp. It happens everytime a killer runs NOED. AND I MEAN EVEEY SINGLE TIME. Then they might get two or three kills because teammates try to get the survivor. but can't.
And before I hear killers cry about D Strike. Well the Devs nerfed D strike into the ground into basically being useless. NOED should get the same treatment.
If you are on deathhook then you get exposed once the exit gates are powered. Not this not even getting downed all game long, pop the last gen, still don't know I'm exposed until I'm half way to the guy on hook just to get hit once and oh look I'm exposed, and I'm just now finding out. These kinds of perks enable killers to continue to play bad.
DS was not nerfed into the ground they just made it so survivors didn't use it as a undo for thier mistakes by going right to a gen or totem or heal someone in front of the killer. It works just the same as before.
-
Plague is a beast right now because she is a good counter to CoH. Her sickness she gives also help slow down gens because people dont want to be fully sick and in a instant down state.
-
Nothing most killers have too much ambient noise it's hard enough to hear the audio cues.....I love Plauge but dam she is a noisy one.

I don't get the hate for it.
The shear size of the map the amount of god pallets that force the killer to break to continue the chase and only a select few killers actually can be used on the map.
Personally I just protect a select few Gens usually the ones that spawn in the lobby and waiting room to try and force a 3 gen. If it seems like ill lose the match (9 times out of 10 I do) I just mess around with the survivors.

I havent seen doctor lately which is weird because i use to always get doctor all the time but he slowed down alot
Really Doc is like one of the better Anti Boon killers atm. They cant hide from him with Shadowstep because of them screaming all the time...unless they have calm spirit which needs a major re-write in its description....but that's a niche perk that most dont run normally.

I would love thunder storms.
I am not sure how to balance it but I have imagined some parts of indoor maps being darker than other portions. Gen maybe located in a poorly lit room or hall, where a flashlight is actually useful.
That's a cool idea where players would have to choose to blind the killer or have to use it to see properly.

Maybe stage variety would feel a little better if outdoor maps had different weather conditions, and/or night & day versions that were also randomly chosen?
For example, sometimes its raining at night for the the Asylum, or its snowing at Bedlam. Or a dull gray sky hangs over Midwich with ash drifting down, covering the courtyard and parts of the school.
It would not fundamentally change game play but different aesthetics could break up visual repetition. Especially, when you are unlucky enough to keep getting certain maps repeatedly.
That's a interesting idea. I would love to see a raining or thunderstorm map variety that affects things like Gen Repair, visibility, or even the speed of actions of both survivor and killer. Because right now the little bottle that affects the "Fog" is a joke on most maps

Do you think the next Boon will just be another version of DS or Dead Hard?
I wouldn't doubt it....it seems the Devs idea of "Changing the Meta" is to make the most broken perk idea ever and put multiple perk within a single perk. Then let's make it so all Boon Perks can stack onto a single totem.....then lets make it so survivors can relight them as many times as they want, so what if its exactly like the original Undying on steroids. Oh wait lets make it so Boons can overpower Hexs and nerf the only defense Perk Killers have so that they never know if someone is messing with thier Hexs. Oh and lets make it also killers cant break Totems because how will that be fair to Survivors.
I can see Boons changing the Meta especially if they keep making them stack everyone of them on the same totem and just keep shoving different perks together to make these Boons.
Personally let them if the Devs think that's ok let them ruin the balance even more I'll keep playing the game until the servers shut down. I have no issues with survivors using Boons or the Boons themselves, just how they were implemented.
-
I agree DH "fix" is more of a buff than anything else. It's more forgiving for survivors than it is for Killers....and now I'm finding Pallet Validation and Grab Validation issues.
I try to grab a person off a Gen and I actually get the animation for it but it counts as a hit and they run off but I'm stuck in the grab animation.

This. If the game is telling me I got the hit, obviously I think I got the hit -- it takes a second to realize it didn't actually count and, in that time, they run away.
Yes that's what everyone is hating is the hit validation bug
-
@Laluzi said:
It's so easy to avoid it, though. I find its existence useful because it gets survivors to waste huge chunks of their flashlight battery and barely move in the process, when all you have to do is stop uncloaking and move rapidly from side to side. Wraith is very fast and they won't be able to keep their beam on you. I wouldn't mind if Lightborn included Lightburn, but I don't care much either way.
Flashlights against Hag, on the other hand; that can ruin a game all on its own.
What are you talking about most trolls just trip all her traps to gove the player a headache

Wait times for survivors takes a longer time now and as killer I only have a 2min wait.

Yeah it's a very nasty perk if used by Survivors who are already good at looping, and if 4 of them are using it (which happens quite often) well there's a good chance you're getting 2 or less hooks by the time they have 1 gen left.
The issue with DH is the animation bug showing blood a hit and a scream. That one bug screws up most chases because when a player sees it they will look around for the survivor.

Huntress has a BROWN addon that applies Blindness on survivors when they are hit by a hatchet.
Yes but the duration time is different for each one.

Because Boons are unlimited, they still need 2 changes to make the unfair competition against Hexes a little more even:
- After the killer snuff a Boon, the totem should be blocked for a short time.
- Hex: NOED, Plaything and any other future Hex that activate during a trial should be able to override Boons.
I agree except that when a Boon gets snuffed the totem gets broken
-
@GannTM said:
I think they’re fine. There’s more of a risk to blessing the totems as it will take 24 seconds to bless a hex totem. I think they will be meta which is what we’ve been asking for for a while.
The issue is there is no risk until the Artist comes out because unless the Killer happens to walk by then there is no risk to the survivor. Because remember they nerfed TotH so without the notification that someone is messing with a Hex.
So when someone says "Theres More of a Risk" I just laugh how wrong that statement is. I have never ran across anyone blessing a totem because no one us stupid enough to bless when the Killer is nearby.

Would video proof not show that this person is instantly healing? Without this topic even being here, there would be no evidence to the contrary that this person could be innocent... your video proof would instead be from the killers perspective, which wouldn't show that this person here is cheating or not
The issue is most players either dont have access or dont video record thier games anyway because they are bot expecting to face a hacker. I am lucky enough to have Xbox Dashboard on my PC that has a recorder on it

You do realize hit validation means the survivor actually hit dead hard before your swing connected, right? Yes, it looks and feels awful to hear the hit, hear the scream and watch them lunge forward, but the request to dead hard went to the server BEFORE you swung. You were getting free hits before due to lag.
This was a fix for something that has not been working forever.
As for boons, I'll say what killers have said for every new killer that came out: adapt. They aren't even very good. Stop letting that boom sound when it's cast terrify you.
The thing is the Hit Validation issue is way worse than anyone realizes. There are times now that I would "hit" the survivor but it's a hit validation issue with DH but the funny thing is they dont do the animation for DH usually confusing the heck out of me allowing them to escape. They need to remove the scream and blood from the failed attack as that is what is making the hit validation a "Buff" to most people.
I had a DH Validation when they used it just before jumping off a drop at a hill, no animation for DH but was a obvious DH fake hit because I got the blood and scream but no weapon wipe. The way they changed it makes it more forgiving to the survivors at least in my opinion.

A perk would't fix the issue with solo queue.
A comms system should honestly be base-kit, that way we don't have to worry about balancing killers for both solo and SWF because they'll be just as powerful. Buffing killers to compensate would make it better.
Well the "Buff" killers get should be a ACTUAL balancing and rebalancing to those killers who got un needed nerfs or were nerfed into the ground. Survivors should have a challenge to escape but not a IMPOSSIBLE challenge. The game revolves around both survivors and killers.
-
I try to play Survivor but have 5-10 min wait times any time of the day but as Killer 2 min tops. Less and less players are playing Killer so I'm getting some strange matches at time.
If DbD doesn't do something soon thier game wont last IMO. Games cant be played without Killers and the Toxic SWFs and really Toxic survivors on the forums dont understand the game doesn't revolve around them.
-
@StarLost said:
No.
You assume that every SWF is a 4man with perfect instantaneous communication. This would be ridiculously overpowered.
I'm happy to throw solos a bone - give them native voicechat (opt-out, like Overwatch), pings and a more robust set of emotes.
I suggested in game coms that always pick up on the mics that cant be turned off in game, and be distance based coms that even the killer can hear. So the balances all sides. (I can never remember what that kind of system is)

The pallets are only a part of the problem.
The big problem right now, and one that not enough people are talking about is how many pseudo-infinites have crept back into the game. The basement house on Haddonfield (the one with the U shaped staircase and 2 windows), the 'barge' on Swamp, the double window bush house on Badham and several potential spots on RPD - particularly the office and the 'prison room'.
Survivors who know about these will just run directly there and you may as well give up unless you're playing Nemesis or something.
Sadly all the maps now have infinities not as many as before the rework but the maps still have them, like on the Coldwind map with the heavy machines are semi Infinite if the killer doesn't know the secret to them

Billy players just tend to be cool people, they don't care that much about winning from what I can tell, they just want to have fun, while also giving room for survivors to have fun themselves.
Billy players are a gem in this community.
I dont have Billy but if I dont have a rift or daily I tend to be silly and have fun with the survivors, like one game on Blackwater I had a Maleka and Yui at a exit gate I opened as Demo, i peek around the corner and they started to chase me around the map lol it was fun for all.
-
Well I got my first DC penalty yesterday but I had no choice but to DC my game froze and has to force close the game. When I opened I the game back up 5 min ban.
I understand punishing the ones who DC just to quit but what about people like me who had technical issues that forces one to close the game down. It's not a fair system, personally needs to be removed or reworked. It's not helping anyone who is getting penalties that they have no control of.

RPD is an awful, awful map. It takes a lot to make me miss Badham and Haddonfield, but RPD manages sometimes.
It's just such a misery to play against survivors that know what they are doing. So many safe vaults that allow you to completely drop chase on demand.
Not to mention it's a maze to get around and pallets that killers HAVE to break to continue the chase. I love it because it's a RE map in DbD but when it's the size of Red Forest but with maze like corridors like the Lab makes only a select few killers have a chance....ie Mobility or Stealth killers.

I agree with you @EvilJoshy and @VikingDragonXii . Every time I do a mori i'm like "C'mon! C'mon! C'mon! I got people to chase and kill!" and then some other survivor walks up, teabags, and then has time to make distance to a safe loop. 😂
Well if Gen Rushing wasn't a problem I would do Moris more often because I like them, but right now you might be assured 2k when you could get 3 or 4k

Demo is gone for good. BHVR have been quite unambiguously clear on this one.
Demo is not gone for good. People who bought the DLC will keep the survivors and killer. We will just not have the Lab *Loud screaming of joy and happiness fills the air* anymore.....thank goodness now to get rid of the RPD map then I'll be happy.
-
Well from my experience the survivors are causing themselves the lower BP gains by speeding through games. Just doing Gens wont net you many BP because that's just 2 sets of scores, Skill Checks and Great Skill Checks, three if you count the fully repaired Gen. Then you have the escape scores of Escape and Obsession Escaped. Those alone wont not you many BP.
Survivors have many more objectives to do but with the current mind set of Gen Rushing every game. Like many have said before it's a 4v1 game mode, so you as a individual wont get many BP. Every BP gain has a cap and once you reach it you wont make anymore BP in that category.
If survivors want more BP then they should have fun and not speed through games.

As far as old moris go. I admit they needed to be changed but the way they went about it feels wrong. Old moris you were pretty much assured the first person hooked would get tunneled and eliminated. Now moris just feel like a fatality in mortal kombat. Cool at first but a big waste of time.
They are because the animation time gives survivors time to do gens

They won't change flashbangs or Iron Maiden. Besides flashbangs are crap to be honest. Everytime a survivor used it on me it has failed because you can see them drop it and has time to look away.

Then you would know that maps got reworked to remove those. So i have no idea why you're still denying the reworks.
I just played on dead dawg last night and was caught in a infinity loop. Gideon still has so many pallets you dont need loops or windows. I'll say the obvious RPD is still a large nightmare for any killer to be on. Blackwater still has those nightmare loops under the Docks and Buildings. Farm is still large enough that survivors can repair Gens on the opposite side of the map and are safe to work on. The Combine machines on the farm maps are Semi Infinite loops if you dont know the secret to break the loops.
You told me to take off my Killer-Tinted Glasses, I play Killer and Survivor equally and can safely tell you to take off your Survivor-Tinted glasses and look at how many things are actually in maps still that are in Survivor's favor. Survivors dont need any other things to help them out with dealing with Killers, what Survivors need to do is.....
- Learn Maps
- Use the Items They Already Have To Thier Fullest.
- Just Play To Have Fun
- Understand Who Your Facing
Survivors already have everything they need to win unless your facing a God-Nurse then I suggest to just have fun with any chases. I like many Killers also like the fun with the chases, so unless we have a Rift or Daily for kills will tend to play more silly and have fun with Survivors. Last night I was playing Demo and at end game collapse was being chased by 2 survivors as if I was being hunted by them, in the end we all had fun and one decided to let me have her as a K.
-
Yea do Bones. I love that answer it's the global fix all.....lol

So, the boons are bad, but NOED is fine? I like your killer-colored glasses, not biased at all.
Talking about "getting rid of" - it's much easier to get rid of a boon than of a hex, especially the NOED that only spawn at the end.
Getting rid of Boons.....you cant when they can be relit over....and over... .and over.....and over.......and over....................and over again. Unless your lucky enough to find it in the first place. Remember Killers dont have any totem hunting perks or items, survivors do. Also its alot harder to notice the blue lit totems as killers because of the different FoV. But I wont say the most obvious thing.......cough Do cough cough bones cough
I always go into a match expecting NoED. So if there isn't a designated totem smasher, I'll break enough totems so it cant spawn and everyone can get a boon on. You know 4 man boon team only needs to break 1 totem to prevent NoED from spawning.
-
@FriendlyKiller said:
I'm not exaggerating when I say I got enough hits to win that game close to 3 times😡 They sucked. But, get a hit, injured survivor runs to a part of the map with no gens. If I commit, boons on one side of the map are instantly relighted and gens start being worked. Drop the chase, they instaheal from the boon on the OTHER side of the map and come right back.
The balance team at BHVR if they are gamers should be ashamed of themselves
Keep at it. When dealing with a team like that force a 3Gen in your favor. Protect only 4 Gens let them have the rest. Eventually they will make mistakes and get cocky. It's not a 100% method but it works alot more than just letting them run roughshot over you
