There's a few ways to solve that.

I kinda like the base kick itself gives like a 3% regression. Nothing heavily substantial, but a punishment for tapping. Makes them have to think before auto canceling a regression.

Yea but The Devs wouldn't go for that so the animation one or skill check one would be one THEY would choose.

  • @Blueberry said:

It hasn't become obsolete, it's always been obsolete. Kicking gens 99% of the time is a waste of time at base.

They've needed to add a faster gen regression at base for years. Every 4 seconds of regression is only one second of the survivors time.

Not to mention just tapping a gen shouldnt stop the regression. I hate chasing a survivor only for them to tap the gen during the chase to stop it. Survivors need a base skill check to stop the regression nothing hard just something they cant just do for a second during a chase.

Nah I feel vaulting and pallets is the only defense the survivor have really (well aside from second chance perks)

What about something like, if Survivors have been in a chase for X amount of time, their vault speed gets slower and slower as it progresses. Would prevent god loopers from being able to run the Killer all game.

I like that. Basically they start getting exhausted as time goes on

Atleast now they have to time it right.

In that patch they could blind you, run half a mile and then get the stun on you

They can still do that lol or stun lock you with a pallet then flashlight

Not sure where 24 is coming from exactly, maybe they picked it because it has a lot of factors (divisible by 2,3,4,6,8, and 12).

Also on a tangent it’s not necessarily the case Boon perks all need to be the same radius. The radius is listed in the individual perk descriptions and different perks have different radiuses of effect. They may have set the first few perks each to 24 currently for simplicity, but hypothetically there’s no reason to think they couldn’t make, say, Shadowstep have a different range than Circle of Healing.

I kinda agree with that. Why does all Boons have to be the same range....but on a side note having them all on a stacking effect on the same totem is kinda broken in itself at least in my opinion.

  • @JPA said:

We should nerf the main menu so that you can't search for a game anymore. That'd fix it.

Nah that be too broken come on now we are trying to balance the game now.....lol

  • Whoops my bad. But still my point stands. What is 24 anyway hasn't the Devs heard of using good solid numbers dang.

  • @xdarksyde said:

If flashlights bother you so much, run lightborn. That is what it is for.

The thing is I have a few killers that Lighborn never has yet spawned in my web. So when I face a flashlight squad or just 1 or 2 I'm expecting to get blinded in weird ways at every pickup, pallet or window

maybe, in KYF with ours friends, the killer has access to the comms and always wins. A 4k

Yea but that's with friends I did that and it was either a fun fest of a 4k or 4E but was fun. With Proxy chat the killer still will have to be close to hear the talking.

  • Yea but my idea of Proxy is the killer can hear it too. So if the Killer say breaks the chase and a players says "hea coming your way scatter" you know what to expect.

That's an awfully big blanket statement, and those don't tend to help anyone

Technically Boons incentives not doing Bones anymore....some players will actually harass players who break totems to get thier Inner Strength because they dont have CoH....it happened to me when I was able to get a survivor match.

    "why so arrogant"

It's related to trauma from my past that makes me greatly uncomfortable. That's the only reason.

"Dead By Daylight is a 4 vs 1 and 100% balance will never happend. When will people finally realize that ?"

No but we can bring it closer by having the devs balance for 2 categories (survivor, killer) than 3 (solo, swf, killer)

The Devs need to understand that SWFs have ruined thier game.....their stance on "Wanting friends to play together" is blinding them to the fact on how broken SWFs are.

SoloQ and Killers should get some kind of buff for every SWF member there is in a game. Not a major buff but something to make things more fair for the constant information that they have at all times. What it is I dont know and the forums isn't a place to find out because, let's face it, it full of one sided arguments where the 50/50 players like me are the minority. Killer Mains are "GUT SWFS RAWR" while Survivor mains are "NERF KILLERS RAWR" nothing will ever get fixed like that.

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

I've always been very iffy on this perk as a killer main, and I've said on countless threads I'd rather it reworked to keep the same late game boost purpose with a bit more balance.

My current problem isn't the do bones arguement...sort of. The problem is in swf they're at fault if it doesnt get cleansed while if its four solos, the four solos can't do much, not near as efficiently anyways, which is my problem with this perk.

I'd like if it was made not to be a hex perk anymore, make it so every survivor on death hook becomes exposed, or something similar anyways, and give a speed boost for each survivor on death hook to separate the tiers.

But then again maybe I'm in a minority, glad you were civil in this post as most posts like this are usually much more aggresive.

The one death hook gets exposed will just destroy the perk. There have been games where I could only get most of them on first hook because of the usual SWF bs but I won't go into it.

Making it like that will just make NOED into a gutted useless perk.

I have been in SoloQ teams where we did all the Bones before EG. So it's no fault but to the survivors that dont do bones or keep it in thier mind that NOED could be a viable threat.

A survivor following you about means there's a max of 2 survivors on a gen. When you go to pick someone up, face a wall and if you can't, face a direction a survivor is unlikely to be. If you really think someone is there, fake the pickup. If there is a survivor trying to get the flash save, they'll run to try and get in position and at that point you hit them and repeat the steps until you can get a safe pickup.

It dosnt matter when they can be directly on the side of you and get the save or just wait till your locked in a animation. The range for the "Hit Zone" is way too wide for flashlights. I was once hit by a flashlight in Hawkens when i was on the second floor Lab with the tube drop. The save came from below from a angle that really shouldnt of hit but still did.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

Nothing will ever beat the tragedy that was "stuns in animation locks count as saving a survivor from yohr grasp"

I still have nightmares about that one

Yea that is horrible because the killer is locked in a animation and cant do anything. Last night I was picking up a few survivors and as the animation started there was a flashlight sitting there ready.

  • @dugman said:

I mainly request buffs I think? The only nerfs I can think of off-hand I might have mentioned was tweaking Iron Will to 90-95% at level 3 (so that it can actually interact with Stridor) and maybe Circle of Healing could stand to be slowed down. Beyond that I think my suggestions have been for various buffs (eg. Improve Monstrous Shrine) or revamps as opposed to buffs or nerfs (e.g. replace the BP bonus on Padded Jaws wih something useful in the match, or let Nurse keep her head up while stunned similar to Legion’s stun but slow down her refresh timer just slightly to compensate.)

So I’m with you, most changes should be neutral or buffs probably at this point, aside from the obvious tweaks they’ll be doing to the new Boons eventually (which isn’t surprising since they’re still basicallu brand new.)

Boons in general need a reduction in thier area again 35M is still a extremely large area to cover but I agree with the slowdown to CoH I litterly saw someone in a game today I just knocked down get right back up in seconds. Survivors can heal in front of killers and be fully healed before they can react or get close.

Flashlights I honestly welcome, unless I'm playing Wraith.

Aside from the occasional 'wut' stun, most of the time people end up giving me free hits and chases with the things. The only time they really get on my grapes is when you get the flicky flicky macro types - for a company that bills itself as 'inclusive' they certainly don't have much regard for us photosensitive types, and that strobing...welcome to my 'now you die' list.

Toolboxes? Yeah, that's scary. I'll usually throw on Franklin's+Hoarder and let shenanigans commence. Sometimes it's a PTS comp and I lose 4 gens before my first hook, but there's no real helping that.

What frustrates me though is people who switch to addons just before the timer goes red, meaning I can't counter it. Honestly, changing items should Unready the killer.

With me it's when I dont have Lightborn I pass 2 or more flashlights.....and i dont have Franklin's atm

Win or lose, these games are such a sweatfest that I never have fun.

What really scares me are the 4man SWFs that you don't realize are a 4man SWF - until you see a bazillion further hooks offerings on Haddonfield/Badham/RPD offerings and 3x Brand New Parts.

    Woof.

Same if I see 2-3 flashlights or toolboxes I dodge. I see a grouping of all Dwights I dodge.....if it's a Team of all Ace........I will get my best sweatiest killer and make sure anyone who uses Ace dies a slow and painful death on the hook............DEATH TO ALL ACES SHALL THIER SMUG FACES BURN HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH!

I play both sides. However, I do think that there is definitely a untapped market for survivor perks that counter anti-looping powers. There's only so many "healing" perks the developers can make before survivors stop buying new survivors, they need to start making original "useful" perk ideas. Here is a totally need area to explore with survivor perk development. Don't you agree?

No most of us dont because there is a need for Anti-loop in the game, your suggesting adding perks to take that away and make the game more one sided. Your suggesting to add a counter to a counter to looping. Survivors dont need more perks to coddle them and control the interaction they have with the killer. Dont forget the Killer is the POWER ROLE in the game so many have forgotten that because of how The Devs have built the game.

Then why does the majority of the community want to be chased. Surely if the stealth was well designed then more people would enjoy it?

People do it and enjoy it because they know how safe they are when they do it. As @WesCravenFan said, the game is about hiding from the Killer and stealth. The chase is truly the last resort that survivors have because they SHOULDNT be able to outrun the Killers and go into pseudo-inf loops.

Are chases fun....for the most part yes, I enjoy chasing a survivor down and slugging them, but not go into a chase where their own goal is to waste my precious little time I have.

We need and ACTUAL feedback email not some lackluster forum section that actual good ideas and fixes go unnoticed and ignored, or get trashed by all the trolls or entitled survivors that no one will ever see the actual idea because a mod will either close or delete the post to keep the forums "civil"

  • @GeneralV said:

Anti-loop killers are extremely displeasing, imho.

I don't mind having one or two, but current DBD has way too many of them.

I like loops. I am from a time when the absolute majority of the cast could be looped in the regular manner, and I would've liked if it stayed that way.

The Devs dont want to admit thier map design is so bad that survivors can abuse small rocks and debris. I found many more pseudo infinities on many maps recently. Once The Devs can admit they designed maps to favor looping and survivors then the healing can begin by reworking EVERY map in the game.

Any "loop" should only be viable for 2 maybe 3 loops before the survivor can move on, not loop 2 or 3 times then move 2m to another loop and another and another. The amount of "Safe" tiles is astounding. I have yet to find a map where I can get Bloodlust to stage three and keep it.

    just drop your mmr

its worthless match for a survivors like pre-nerfed nurse

It's not easy to drip your MMR as killer because there are so fewer killers now that low MMR killers are getting pared with SWF hit squads. Almost every of my games have 3man SWFs and I lost 4 games in a row with no hooks or kills. MMR has ruined the game....I'd rather have the old rank system and that was a messy but somewhat working system.

Well.. I'm saying the game is lop sided. Either killer gets bullied, or the killer annihilates scrub Survivors. And the lop sidedness is extreme.

Putting a 1000 hour survivor w a 100 hour survivor needs to stop.

    That's what I'm saying.

I agree check my response to his on my feelings and opinion on the situation.

  • @Clevite said:

Are you saying killers are winning?

    Easily?

That is a different tone than most of the posts on here.

They aren't unless they are competitive players. The regular players who play for fun are being destroyed by the MMR and how The Devs told everyone how it is scored. I played 8 games last night and only got 5k total. Most of the games everyone brought in a Tool Box with a BNP or 2 had BNP and 2 had purple flashlights with the best addons.....I even lost 3 games in a row by not getting a single kill and my MMR didn't drop in the least. The issue is there are less and less Killers playing now because of how one sided the game has become, so casual Killer players like me are feeling the pain and troubles.

But the Devs dont want to affect Gen Speeds, deal with how strong SWFs are, the Maps in general need a major rework still.

People have said "THE END IS NEIGH XX WILL DESTROY DBD" But what will destroy DbD is The Devs own hubris and not caring about how THIER changes are affecting Both Sides

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

28 seconds to bless a dull totem is no joke. 56 seconds to bless a hex is straight up game throwing.

People didn't bother to try cause of the notification removal but it counters boons just fine.

It dosnt counter Boons Killers remember cant track where totems are.the only thing that made Thrill good was the notification of when they were messing with a Hex.

Killers also dont have time searching for Boons when there are 4 survivors possibly doing 2 or 3 gens at once while a 4th is doing a Boon.

They already showed this openly a long time ago during a Q&A just before the doctor rework.

They had reworked/changed a killer (can't remember who, sorry) where 1 of the devs said "now that we have changed this killer i started thinking. Who do i also hate to play against?"

That being the doctor and the announcement that they were gonna rework him.

After that comment of him i started to get worried even more for killers, and it definitely proved to be something to worry about.

But hey, the more survivors, the more money the make right? 😉

Not really.....I used to play both Killer and Survivor 50/50, to do dailies or tome missions...but now no matter what time I'm on the wait times are around 10-15 mins and that's not a exaggeration I timed it one day and that's the average I got. The less and less Killers there are the more broken the MMR will be. Tonight I played a total of 8 games as killer pit of all those games I got a total of 5k. I kept getting matched with high tier SWFs usually running all tool boxes or a mix of tool boxes and flashlights.

I was on a killer that hasn't unlocked Lightborn yet and kept getting flashlight stunned when i was locked in a animation. (Another thing that the Devs should stop). I decided to just run to the basement and do nothing for the rest of the match because how the map was generated there were pseudo-infinities everywhere on the map and they kept pre dropping every pallet on the map....(extremely frustrating when you are getting a ton of notifications over and over again)

It's because boons aren't an issue. The only problem is healing perks/items stacking with CoH. The perks are fine.

OP didn't say Boons were the issue. They just used them as a example to what they were pointing out.

  • @GuyFawx said:

He's more B tier. In the hands if someone that dosnt know how to play him he is definitely c or d tier. Only reason he cant go past B tier is because he has no real chase potential.

I have seen people say he's OP because they cant hide from him. I usually laugh at that because you can hide just have to he smarter.

The only thing they're bad is because of visual feedback for a killer. Hit validation is mostly fine by itself

That's the issue right now we have DH Hit Validation, Pallet Hit Validation, and Grab Validation. The Grab Validation is the worst and alot of people dont see it too often, you would grab a survivor at a gen, window, pallet or locker and it gives you the animation but you dont actually grab them they either get away or it somehow counts as a hit.

  • Most will in my case are as follows...

Players loop me extremely well and manage to get the doors open. I kill 2 of them but the two that loop me are at the exit door. They nod in respect to me as they drop their items for playing a fun game. Sometimes they let me slug them as they crawl out so I can get more points

From the promo that's what will happen with the survivors. They will fight against the raiders using weapons and powers and the goal is to escape through a time capsule. It's unique enough to differentiate, but similar enough to draw attention away from DBD.

I wouldn't hold my breathe, there has been quite a few games that came out that people said would "Draw Away" from DbD but they sadly lost popularity or just died completely. I hope a game does come out that forced the Devs to pay attention finally and balance thier game but again....I'm not holding my breathe.

i tried to re read like what you said like 10 times and then re-read what i wrote like 8 times. i don't understand the point.

Regardless, The current power of Ruin for example can be as oppressive as it is BECAUSE you can cleanse it and get rid of it . I will admit that i play like maybe 10 games of Survivor and i don't super pay attention to killer perks. But i for sure have cleansed HEX totems for sure, so i don't know what thats about. The strongest game delay a killer can bring to a Trial is Ruin/Undying BY FAR. so what are we pretending like this hasn't been meta for the last 2 years ??? I really don't know where have you found this idea that Hex perks are suddenly useless or what ever, that's not the case.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2644279#Comment_2644279

The Hex perks as of right now have power IMO relative to the concept of you being able to lose it. I have played against REALLY good players and played terribly and got carried by ruin being up for 6 minutes. The entire concept wages on the idea that its something very powerful that you can lose, and it also has the same counterplay across all perks. We can't have ruin regressing gens at 200% if it can be relit. We can't have Devour hope give you a mori and an instant down if it can be relit.

from just the logistic side, you literally would have to rework every HEX perk. at the speeds that this company works at, we are literally looking at atleast 4 years of a complete hex perk rework.

The real problem with HEX perks is that once people play this game enough, you kind of remember most of the totem placements somewhat. So it becomes easier to find them and easier to cleanse them. But this whole notion that you guys are putting out that somehow HEX perks are not worth or are not powerful enough is just not true in any sense. They are clearly Stronger then their non HEX counterparts and are balanced around the idea that you might lose them. and listen I spam primarily Killer and i am getting put in to a position of defending Survivors gameplay because you guys are talking crazy.

I have not seen any Hex last more than 2-3 mins top and that's if they just didn't find it yet or just felt sorry for the killer and left it alone. I have seen fewer and fewer killers use Hexs now because Ruin x Undying meta is not very viable when 4 people boon all but 1 totem.

I have stopped using that combo because I'd rather use other perks that wont be blessed away in a matter of seconds and not to get any use out of it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2644285#Comment_2644285

It's a new asymmetrical game where a raider has to hunt down and kill survivors. It's not FF vs. battlefield, but more like F13 vs. DBD.

That's even worse F13 to me wasn't fun because how spread out everyone was. What it did have going is Jason always stayed in the power role and never left it. Only way to kill Jason is to call in the special character, get to his shack, steal mama's sweater, hope he survives, get a machete, remove Jason's Mask and then hopefully everyone that needs to survive does to do the instant kill.

That's alot of work but worth it and takes teamwork. That's what F13 has over DbD.....actual teamwork but they were always in the weaker role. But that was what made it fun, running from Jason trying to joke him hoping he had left to try to escape knowing I couldn't do anything to him made it fun.

  • @Patrick1088 said:

Do you guys see the new asymmetrical game taking away from DBD?

All platforms , and honestly just as iconic characters (Cell, Buu and Frieza).

One thing that DBD has over Breakers is original killers (or Raiders in Breakers).

VHS is coming as well, but I can easily see Breakers gaining big traction. I'm just curious as to how DBD will be able to keep up with these new games.

Ya know this post should be in the off topic section TBH but I'll bite.......VHS is a very rough game. Concept wise it's good but is very rough and will look like a major money grab game, and giving the survivors weapons to kill the killers.....Last Year did the same thing and look where it's at right now.....fewer people play it or know of it. And a game based with DBZ characters doesn't seem like a fun game tbh because if its Asymmetrical it means it would be Freiza vs 4 people that cant really beat him.....in that sense which ever plays Frieza would always win because that's cannon to the universe.

For a game to dethrone DbD it would have to really have balance in mind that keeps it as the 1 is the power role while the 4 have to work together to win. That's where DbD is failing now, the 1 has been removed completely from the power role while the 4 have been placed into the power role.

GREAT IDEA! A killer can keep kicking RUIN on. I like the way you think. You should apply for lead in game design!!

  • @coldestwinter123 said:

sounds like an interesting idea. But i think Hex perks are balanced around the idea that they are strong effects that can be lost.

Haunted grounds relit with ruin would be a 50/50 on possibly losing the game right there.

relit Undying and now hex totems are even more harder to deal with.

Devour Hope "oh you thought u got rid of insta down and mori? Think again"

and this is just me thinking about the possibilities less then 30 seconds.

And if it gets to a point where we have conditions like "oh it can only be done one time" and "you lose all tokens on it" it becomes this mess of a thing, This game is trying super hard to be as unified in their systems as it can. At the expense of everything (balance/design/Fun) . cool idea but i don't know boys might be too chaotic.

    Hexs harder to deal with?????

That has to be a joke right because Hexs are so easy to deal with now that most killers dont use them.

I look at it this way. Why are SWF so strong? Communication. How do we close the gap between Solo and SWF? Communication. Should we add in game voice chat or proxy chat? No. Are you bonkers? Last thing we need is some 12 year old telling me about my mom all game.

    This would be enough

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/SGZX2A4M9D2X/image.png

An in game quick message system, and to avoid spamming the messages. Make a 10 second cooldown between messages.

The only issue with that is SWFs would still use Discord or another voice chat outside of the game. A proxy chat that's always on and cant be turned off is unfortunately the best way. But until the Devs actually deal with this issue in a sensible way that's ACTUALLY a balance I'll just back out of lobbies that have 3 or more SWFs if I dont feel like dealing with it.

It's a fair idea. I wouldn't mind some lesser form of Kindred being baseline for solos - but I don't think BHVR would bite on it (they've always been resistant to treating the two differently on a mechanical level).

Totem counter...you mean a numerical indicator or something like Small Game? I find my hexes get cleansed way too often as is, which is why I've moved away from using Ruin almost entirely.

I have stopped using Hexs after TotH was nerffed.

Yea but st the current time and state of the game that's not possible. I dont run NOED because I am not going to be assuk3d to be a "weak" killer for using it.

Dude, you need to get a better system if you’re running into problems like this.

That's the thing it's not my system or internet my ping is always around 50-58. I have a brand new gaming PC so the issue is on thier end or someone slamming the server with a ton of data at once to lag it out

Depends on what platform you play and do you have crossplay on. Most likely you are either on consoles or do not really play that much of Dead by Daylight each day to see a pattern, just my thoughts. Feel free to correct me.

I have been playing all week for around 3-4hrs straight each day. I haven't seen any hackers in my games....now most are I assume in the High MMR bracket....that's why I play to have fun to stay out of that nightmare zone....but I had a few DC issue where I hit a survivor or hook them and Ibget disconnected from the host...I know it isn't my internet and my ping is always ranging between 35-58. But no blatant cheating.

Yes. I don't think survivors should have any type of perk nerfs at endgame, because at that point the killer failed. Survivors should be incredibly strong in the endgame.

But they are not, that's the sad part.

  • I watch Ohmwrecker he streams on Twitch at times and is on YT but has been playing survivors more but sometimes mixes it up with Killers. I think it depends on what he feels like playing at the time

  • I know if you do get them to a 3gen it's still a 50/50 chance it will actually help you win.

Didn't read your rant. Noed is fine the way it is. I use it on certain killers and many times it doesn't even last until the end.

All I saw was NOeD bad NERF NOW RAWR.

WAHHHH DS NERFED NOW BAD WANT BACK WAHHHH.

    Obviously a rant post.
