RPD, the latest map they released, is literally one of the largest (if not the largest) map in the game. Then there’s the rework to Gideon Meat Plant where there’s like a pallet every 12 meters, including half a dozen god pallets.
Thank you I didn't think they "shrunk" the maps......

Where have you been when they did map reworks which literally focused on making the maps smaller, blocking loops, adding in breakable walls and closing off certain vaults/windows, lmao????
None of the maps are smaller I dont know where you see maps are smaller all are still busy a large as before. I have yet to see a loop blocked off by the game. Windows yes have been blocked off but none as the semi-inf loops and breakable walls are usually at a spot that if you break it, it makes a semi-inf loop.
Survivors have everything they need to stay alive and you may not like it but it includes......BOONS, Gen Speeds, Un-Altered Items, Meta Perks, SWFs with Coms.....the list goes on. I play Killer mostly because I love the chases and the fun that comes with them but I do dabble with Survivors and have very little experience playing them, but when I do the only time I die is if I get tunneled and Camped or my team leaves me to die on the hook. I can easily loop killers, pallet slam into a long flashlight blind only to repeat the process 4 times maybe 5 depending on my resources at hand. When I do 3-4 gens are done and the killer might get one hook and that's me.
-
@BrokenSouI said:
I just can't with the OPs post and responses. When outside maybe 4 killers. This game is a ######### show for 95 % of the killers on roster.
The problem with DBD is map balance first. Gen speeds second. Maps are TOO safe for most killers. And you'll get maybe 4 hooks tops before the game is over... Whoopie
The problem is devs view 2/2 in/out as balance....But does a game feel balanced to you when a killer might get 2 hooks...But 2 kills because of overly alturistic plays at the end..?
I agree with the size the maps are Killers should have a base speed increase WHEN NOT IN A CHASE so that they can patrol the large maps easier and not have 1-2 gens pop before you can find and chase your first survivor.

So instead allow an array of players to suffer with the increasing amount of killers, some which nearly completely, bypass the only natural defense mechanism the survivor side has?
They've made maps smaller, removed infinites, removed pallets/windows and have continued to add even more anti-loop killers ever since those changes. Not to mention that the new map also in itself has awful loops, with one part of the map nearly being a complete deadzone.
I'm not here to argue about semantics either, Pinhead is anti-loop and a range killer, it does not matter to which extent.
They haven't made maps smaller they haven't removed the loop, gyms or pallets.the new killer map just proves it. Survivors already have plenty of ways to protect themselves from Killers and powers. Most wont or dont want to learn how to handle Killers in their own way so they whine and scream XX is OP there no counter play nerf now. Sadly....the Devs listen and gut killers until the only thing they can do is Tunnel and Camp just to get a single kill.
Its large, alot of Infiniti loops, god pallets and free gens. Giving survivors MORE ways to screw over M1 killers isn't needed. What's needed is a REAL BALANCE update that looks at both Killers AND Survivors.

Deathslinger did have counterplay.
Right just pay attention to your surroundings and dont hold W all the time.

What are you gonna use a flashlight on anyway? Blinding at pallets is pointless and you would rarely get flashlight saves in a match, maybe 2 at best unless the killer is oblivious.
Most matches I play when I get baited to remove Lightborn survivors will run up at the last second to blind when picking up someone.....the period when you have no control over the killer.
-
@OldHunterLight said:
Is OP the new toxic on this community?
Toxic ≠ BM , OP ≠ strong.
But to answer your question, yes she is very strong, no counterplays on loops and is almost always a guaranteed hit if you try looping so holding W will increase on the new update.
I bet that she will get nerfed soon after release like most killers do so worry not.
You can see where the Ravens are facing. So you know how to dodge them....yes she is a strong anti loop like Doc and Clown but the lack of travel ability will further increase the W mindset like you said especially with the new exhaustion perk

@Mari2 said:
True, and as a survivor that doesnt have swf team it is getting much harder to play it feels weird.
It feels weird because that's how the game is supposed to be. Killer is supposed to be the huge menacing beast of the Entity made to cuase pain and suffering. Now were some killers too powerful.....yes they were.....was fixing needed to tone them down.....yes I totally agree........did they need a full gutting to make them so easy to loop that the whole fear factor is gone......NO. The Devs take too much information from the players without vetting the info for themselves. We have seen that multiple times with in needed Nerfs like on the Slinger and Wraith. Spirit did need a good counter play and I agree with her changes, just not with the removal of Fathers Glasses.....
-
I apologize too I shouldn't of snapped like that or assumed it was a personal attack. I only am able to play during the weekends because of my work schedule but take pride in my skills (which is always improving) in the game.
I agree it's a boring strat but when you deal with Gen Rushers so much you tend to do the boring crap just to get some action.
Again I apologize.

I mean, if you wanna believe that then go for it.
Personally I think they were made to encourage alternate objectives for the survivors to help slow the pace of the game, however the implementation was just a smidge too broken.
Slow......the.....pace of the game.....that's is actually really funny because it hasn't slowed the game down at all....in fact it sped the game up because if killers look for a Boon they will lose the game fast

If you are still unlocking perks and killers you are a "baby killer" so I understand doing what you have to do to advance. It might be a better use of your time to figure out how to run loops and how to hide your red light more to advance your mind games.
Just because I 1 dont have the extra funds atm to buy all the killers I need and 2 I only have time during the weekend to play so yes I'm still unlocking stuff, not everyone will have the same playstyle anyway. The Term "Baby Killer" just shows how much your mind need to grow and mature.
Do you know I cant loop, do you know I can't hide the stain.....No you do not. So before you want to try to label someone with a negative connotation think again and try to be constructive instead of adding to the growing toxic behavior that DbD has made.
-
@ColonGlock said:
3 gen strat is baby killer thinking. Nobody wants to spend 30 minutes in a match with you. I have given up on gen slowdown perks and focus on having fun. That is the point of this game right?
I'll 3 gen them all day long. Not a baby strat when some people dont have access to those slow down perks like me. I dont have the Plague and her perks seem to avoid the Shrine so I work with what I have. Survivors will make mistakes trying to get to those gens that I will jump on.

A survivor messing with boons is a survivor that is not on a gen. It only hurts you when you ignore the boons.
1 survivor on a boon is still 3 survivors doing gens. Ignoring boons is a necessity because killers dont actually have time to search everywhere for them and their small quiet humming sound.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
Honestly due to their limited range of effects I don't think many people would use them, if they were a one time use perk.
Limited uses I can get behind. Like each boon has 1/2/3 tokens and each time you bless it consumes a token from every boon perk you have equipped, for example. That'd help tone them down, add in some resource management to them (do I use it early to deny early game pressure or do I use it late game to help prevent the pressure point of no return), and in general promote healthier skillful gameplay and interactions where the survivors are not on generators.
They are Boons.....nothing healthy about them. They were made to make Hexs obsolete, a reason to nerf ToTH, and a reason to promote a more toxic atmosphere for killers and hold survivors hands that cant actually adapt to changing conditions of various killers.

Then why does the server register a hit with a power that never happened? What research explains that?
That is a bug that I believe Mandy has been trying to bring to their attention but no one is listening. Mandy knows that it's a big aggravation to Killers because of the issue at hand.

@OldHunterLight said:
There are only 2 killers that get punished badly by the hit validation, blight and twins.
See, even if you hit the survivor during dead hard you only hear the scream and blood I think, you don't actually go into the wipe animation you go into the missed attack animation, it is extremely annoying and I understand I also hate it probably as much or more than you do, should it get fixed? Yes, is bhvr going to? Doubtfully.
Dead hard has always countered traps btw.
Also fun fact you can use dead hard in just before a fall point to fly a good distance away from the killer as they are affected by the hit validation BS

how would you rework it just out of curiosity?
Delete it and make a new perk that doesn't do that.
-
I also think SWFs should get their own game mode or have killers opt out of facing swfs I'll wait for longer matches I'd it means I dont have to deal with a other toxic SWF team

Mmr is kill or escape. So camp and tunnel is a win. Creep around and wait for everyone else to do the work and escape is a win and your mmr increases.The old emblem system was wayyy better.
I agree there....I had more challenging matches not I stomp on rookies and get a easy 4k or want to bang my head against a wall because of a swf hit squad.....

boon totems are strong if you let them use them. you'll know whn one is active so play against it. simply put

Yup they only have a short term strategy but what they don't know or forget is that the old school player are the cement of a good community that then keeps the game on the good tracks and alive.
On the long run, you need to have old school players to have an healthy playerbase.
New players that join DbD now will never play 1000h as the game state is terrible and they don't have this nostalgia link with the game.
If most old school players are leaving, the game will die. It's what has happened with L4D1 for exemple. It's what is happening with R6S.
And the state of the game doesn't allow new players to stay. Many players have joined the free week-end, none stayed...

We will see what happens when VHS is released, BHVR might be really surprised 🙄
I have seen clips of VHS and I'm not hopeful.....because we thi k survivors have gear now to mess with killers......in VHS you get actual weapons to fight back....
-
One idea I have seen passed around and is pretty fair is also to increase BP and Shard gains for SoloQs and Killers for every Member of a SWF is in the lobby. That way they will still get goo BP and Shards even though SWFs may speed run or smurf the match.
-
@Tr1nity said:
Look- if they bump solo up to swf levels (as in giving everyone voice chat) they would need to buff killers, a lot, and than survivors (at least the loud ones) would do what?
Well my idea was put in a voice chat that's ALWAYS ON. Meaning that it always picks up your mic and its local based hearing. That will make it a bit fairer for SoloQs and Killers that dont have anyone helping them out.

Thrill is good for boons if it's in a good spot.
No Thrill isn't good for boons....it makes them take longer to bless....not really a issue when there are 4 survivors to 1 Killer a d they can just bless over the hex anyway making it even more useless than it is now
-
@Sluzzy said:
We desperately need killers that have fair counterplay. They need to remember that the only thing survivors have is pallets in the game. Either give more tools to use or stop making anti-loop, super oppressive killers.
Ahem flashlights, god loops, flashbangs, medkits, op meta perks, pallets that completely blocks path, 4v1.......too bad survivors only have pallets so killers csnt be anti-lock killers.

That doesn't matter, it practically does nothing when she can still track survivors through other means while moving at lightspeed.
You know how hard it is to actually track by other means of you dot have the withered cherry blossem to get killer instinct to go off. Or if your on indoor maps without tall grass to see moving.

I agree I love that map its equal parts challenging and fun.
-
Same here about 3 mins was the longest for a match as killer. The hate and Salt feeds my dark soul and I savour it.
But seriously though just ignore them and play how you want to play and who you want to play. The game isn't about just them.
-
Another reason is that Killers cant switch out Killers like survivors can so they are locked with who they decide to play as. If you knew lers say a streamer named XBoy2314 was know to play Doc mostly and you knew he was who you were facing you would switch out your Perks that would counter him and his playstyle. Killers can see survivors and their items because survivors are THE PREY and the killers are THE HUNTERS.

If she needs to be 'gutted' just to be able to vs her, then yes, she needs to get 'gutted'. It's not a singleplayer game, there is another party present.
Killers dont need to be gutted until they cant have a chance of winning. As you said this is not a single player game. I have seen many killers that survivors whined saying OP and those killers were A tier now are D tier. This game is the Survivors are the prey and the Killers are the Hunters. They are ment to be the big bad monsters that you would run from and hope to get away from.
Let's looks at the game Prop Night, the Killers in that are powerful with many abilities while the survivors are not only with a hide ability and the game is fun that way. I dont know how Survivors thought the game revolved around them and only them.
-
@Xayrlen said:
Well PTB is there for a reason of testing. If the killer proves to be excessively effective - it will be toned down to match normal expectations. But PTB is not over, so it's a bit early to make decisions.

I'll believe it when I see it, there has been so many "this will totally cause a mass exodus and kill the game in Just Two More Weeks guys, just watch!" that turned out to be as successful predictions as the vintage "in 2000 we'll all have flying cars and robot housekeepers!" predictions.
Yes but it is slowly starting to happen.....I have friends who are survivor mains saying how long it takes to find a match....besides I'm not one of those doomsayers I'm just worried is all

It would be fun if killer could hear it tho.
SoloQ could still listen and talk to SWFs or other SoloQs
-
What worries me is that if they are just focusing on survivors because they make them the most money then DbD will fail them because all the Killer players will leave and the wait times fir survivors will get longer and longer and longer.
-
They should just add a automatic ingame chat that picks up your mic. Like a local voice that it gets louder as you get closer. (For the life of me I cant think of what its called).
That way even if SWFs are using discord it will still pic up their mics.

And you know vaulting will get hit validation next. It's going to happen.
I had a hit validation of dead hard on a survivor while he was MIDAIR......not activating it on the ground he activated it litterly at the last second before he went over a hill drop and I never got the hit even though he was midair when I hit him.....this Hit Validation is starting get a little stupid if you ask me.

Lmfaoo wow killers are really something else huh? You guys gonna start complaining that survivors just even exist next? The devs have already said that they like “tapping a gen” because of a survivor does that in the middle of a chase it was a risky play for that survivor to stop mid chase and tap the gen, losing time they could’ve been running away..
plus I’m pretty sure gens take 2 seconds to kick, not 3
*adjusts my nerd glasses and puts my pocket protector in* Actually it takes a exactly 3.453 seconds to fully kick a generator, please when making a joke response make sure you have all facts correct.

We all have been there, my best suggestion would be to keep playing. Play each killer and find the ones that you can really mesh with. Also if you can record your games, besides always having video evidence incase of a hacker or harrassment, you can watch them over and see any mistakes you might of made or what you can improve upon. You might not notice them mid chase or while your playing. Try to avoid any of the technical killers like spirit, wraith and nurse. I might suggest the good Doctor as his powers have a very little learning curve and he is always fun to play IMO
