My survivor queue times have been instant while killer queue times have been 3 - 5 minutes recently. I'm pretty happy since I stopped being a killer main thanks to high MMR
-
It's pretty logical to me.
It's easier for killers to reach high MMR which = more killers at high MMR (why queue times are higher for killers)
More killers playing at high MMR = Playing against high MMR survivors where entire lobbies are using Iron Will
Iron Will = Destroys Spirit
Therefore,
High amount of killer players at high MMR = not playing Spirit

I agree with that. Apart from the issue I mentioned above where I seem to drop no MMR at times for killer despite losing match after match or not getting survivors of my MMR level
This has mostly been my experience as well, where it feels like my MMR isn't going down after a string of 3 or 4 escapes while the queue times are insanely high for killer play. I've just stopped playing killer altogether unless I get a daily. Survivor is extremely relaxing and the queue times are instant. Even in solo queue, I'm escaping around 60% of the time even while messing around the whole time trying to farm protection hits for MoM, kick pumpkins, and bust totems.
-
Just shrink the maps or change the map generation algorithm to where it's like, survivor team average MMR >= 1800 means 40% less pallets or something. You get what I mean. So many balance issues would be fixed by making the maps smaller or making balance tweaks specifically towards high MMR survivors.
-
I actually got this trophy playing killer back when I was a newbie. I had no idea what I was doing trying to play Hag and all the survivors escaped through the hatch and it awarded me the trophy as well.

Meanwhile, I have a habit of 2-hooking everyone and then just messing around whenever I play killer, and while that gave me a solid middle-of-the-road rank in the old system that roughly matched me against players my skill level (I got occasional god squads, sure, but who didn't), I'm pretty sure the new system just thinks I'm completely terrible at the game.
I'm enjoying not having to sweat at all and being allowed to dick around and take things easy - I'm comfortable playing casual games, and I've stopped running Ruin and started running less meta perks and that's fun - but it's pretty oof-worthy when I get matched with total newbies that don't know what they're doing. Which is about one in every five games. I try to dial it back and act like a tutorial match for those players (heck, yesterday I had one where I had to call it quits in the middle of the game and turn passive because all four players got too scared and just hid together in a corner of the map), but I really shouldn't be going against them and I wish there was a little more recognition of score or emblems in the apparent formula. Same with survivor, because escaping isn't exactly the sole arbitrator of how well you performed that game.
Maybe stop smurfing and stomping newbies. I'm sure they'd prefer to play against someone their own skill level.
-
I don't think looking bad is a large consideration in BHVR's decision-making.
-
Solo queue is not that bad, come on. I play solo survivor almost exclusively when I play survivor and I escape 60 - 70% of the time while messing around most of the game (trying to proc MoM, Sabo hooks, kicking pumpkins, etc.). I can play relaxed the whole time and win often enough without sweating it. Contrast that with killer where one dead Hard can cost you an entire game
-
Dead Hard is not high risk high reward, it's just press E to make it to a pallet or window you otherwise wouldn't have. It's also just given to you for free by way of being injured. It's the most OP perk in the game and it needs a hard nerf badly. An extra 30% distance crazy.
A better suggestion would be for any exhaustion perk to require a safe unhook to activate so it can't be used in the first chase when a killer needs to build pressure and slow the game down
-
Why would you even bother playing Spirit at high MMR? Almost every lobby has 3 - 4 Iron Wills. It's annoying dealing with that as Spirit
-
I'd love to play with crossplay off, but it takes an eternity to get a killer match. They should have kept console walled off from PC
-
I've only gotten the infinite loading screens playing survivor
-
I think you get less for each subsequent survivor you put on the same tangled hook
-
They should do a Bubba Fest event where all killers are locked for a weekend except Leatherface and all Bubbas earn 10x bloodpoints
-
I definitely figured this out now. I don't bother with slowdown perks except for sometimes using Jolt. I run pure chase perks and try to build pressure by hooking as fast as possible. My favorite perks right now are Lethal Pursuer and Crowd Control. I've been having pretty good success
-
Playing after this patch update has been a breeze for me as killer, even with the boon totems. I don't know if it's the long survivor queues or what, but I am actually getting extremely chill survivors that are easy to play against instead of the usual high MMR full teams of DH/IW on every survivor playing efficiently. I'm 12-hooking left and right while playing around with new add-ons and perks and stuff.
-
I dodge when I get more than one TTV in my lobby because I know it's a toxic tryhard SWF. I used to watch VODs after games, but I stopped because most of the time they spend their time on stream talking about how bad I am or whatever, whether I'm winning or losing. It seems kind of dumb to do that cause maybe I would follow and subscribe otherwise. No wonder they're stuck at 1 viewer.
-
I think this is how every event goes. I could say the same thing about survivors. I've been trying extremely hard to get the Evil Incarnate achievement lately, and every time I get down to one survivor left they always go in a locker depriving me of the achievement.
-
I want Chucky in the game. They could definitely do it since we have Victor. We could have either Chucky as the killer, or maybe the killer is Charles Lee Ray and there are Good Guy boxes around the map where when called upon, Chucky comes out and can run around and stab nearby survivors to inflict deep wounds or something.
-
Both Iron Will and Dead Hard need to be hard nerfed. It's incredible how many survivors these two perks hard carry. They'll never be changed though. BHVR loves their survivor players too much for that.
-
She's still destroyed by Iron Will and 90% of my lobbies have all four survivors with Iron Will equipped. I don't know why anybody would play her at high MMR
-
1. Hackers 2. Iron Will/Dead Hard 3. Map design/pallet density
-
I said something in a message afterwards to an extremely efficient team about them using a Cowshed map offering. I said they didn't need it on top of their skill, their perks, items, and the game's balance. They said they were bored of playing on Haddonfield. Lol

Has MMR caused an influx of it or something because it seems to have come a major problem ever since it was implemented. Before it yeah we'd get occasional complaints, but now it seems to be rampant.
The hackers always escape. Since the hackers always escape, they're at the highest MMR because MMR is based on how often that you escape from the trial. There are more killers at high MMR than there are survivors because MMR is based on how many kills you're getting on average, which is why the queue times are longer for killers. They reach high MMR faster. Because there are less survivors than killers at high MMR, more killers are running into hackers than ever before. Additionally, the hacker problem in DbD is extremely well-known at this point and everyone believes that reporting does nothing, that BHVR is not interested in dealing with the problem. That's probably encouraging more people to cheat on its own.
-
Corrupt is useless against high MMR teams unless you're Hag or Trapper. As soon as you get in a chase, they will bang out two gens before the Corrupt timer is even over. I prefer perks that end chases as fast as possible over showdowns

If you think console players are annoyed, imagine the frustration of PC players with this, especially if PC/console ineraction is disabled, or if consolers simply drop out of the combined queing.
I increasingly frequently now as Killer simply leave a lobby that does not have a 50/50 split, so 2 consoles 2 PC players.
Killer ques are fast and frequent. I have that prerogative/privilege to choose the trials I enter.
My reason primarily is not to play with 3+ team SWF on voice, on either PC/console, but also so as to ensure that alteast 2/4 are not potential cheaters.
People can still SWF cross-platform, but yeah I completely understand why you would do that.

I just had a game where I had an entire 4-stack seeming to be lag switching the second they got hit in a chase, and then if i finally managed to down them anytime i would go to try and hook them the prompt would come up but it wouldn't let me hook them. which i was then getting spam blinded with flashlights for a ridiculous amount of time. i couldn't actually hook any of them so i just let them finish gens and then sit in a corner after i hit the door. i'm on ps5 and after that experience i'm debating on turning crossplay off if i play killer.
You will wait forever for a killer match with crossplay off on PS5. There just aren't enough people. I've tried. They should have kept the entire console ecosystem walled off from PC
-
These stats are also flawed on the endgame end. Plenty of survivors feed kills in the EGC trying to save their friend. If every survivor just bounced as soon as possible, the kill rates would be a lot lower
-
Lol, two games later and get a guy with insane stretched res and a red stain that's burning the retina out of my eye and a different guy lag switching so I can't hook him
-
Survivors kind of bring this behavior upon themselves, so I don't feel too bad when killers decide to camp and tunnel them out. I don't run slowdown builds at all. My builds are geared towards finishing chases as fast as possible and getting people on hooks. I'm almost always 2 hooking everyone before someone dies. I pretty much never camp and tunnel. I'm at high MMR and most of my games end with 5 - 9 hooks with 1 kill or 4 escapes. I get BMed almost every single time at the exit gates. I'm talking flashlight click spamming, teabagging, noise spamming by jumping in and out of lockers or over pallets, sitting in the exit gates for the entire EGC etc. Most survivors don't even give you hits anymore, they wait for you to get close then leave or Dead Hard out the gates. You can't get BMed at the exit gates over and over if you just kill everyone lol.
I'm not against camping and tunnelling on principle or anything, I just prefer the fun gameplay loop of downing someone and chasing someone else. I also find it extremely annoying trying to fight through all the 2nd chance perks to tunnel. The only time I will hard tunnel is when someone trys to body block me with BT or when they're literally chasing me to take a BT hit. I will hard tunnel them out of the game every single time. I do not care if it causes me to completely throw the game because I was not going to win anyways given how efficient the survivors at high MMR are.
-
Ruin and Undying are usually gone in a minute. Dead Hard and Iron Will last the entire trial with no counters
-
I don't understand why you would feel bad about playing Spirit. Survivor players don't feel bad about running meta loadouts with juicy Medkits and burning Cowshed offerings
-
I voted Chucky. I would have picked Jason, but it's not like he would end up much different from Trapper.
-
Another reason solo queue is rough is because of the tome challenges and trophies. I'm a killer main. I only play survivor to get tome challenges and trophies done, and I play it as selfishly as possible. If an adept is on the line, I am out those gates as soon as the gens are done. I am not saving you. If I'm grinding out the protection hit Bill trophy, I am farming your ass off hook and then getting hit and going down immediately after causing us to lose the game. If I need to survive at all costs, I am running the killer right to you with Bond so I can get out and get my achievement.
-
I'm not a great survivor by any means, but one quick tip is never to run to the edges of the map. There's nothing there for you and you'll go down quickly.
-
I'm hoping they do something about this because I'm getting paranoid of people that are subtly hacking. I'm talking about people that are finishing generators a bit faster in the distance or are gaining more distance when I can't see them at a loop than they should or are straight up wallhacking. I get suspicious when some of these high level survivors never fall for any mindgames whatsoever and always make the perfect read. I just go AFK if I see someone infinite sprint bursting or flying all over the map until they've had their fun. I don't bother to report on console because it is way too time consuming and it requires information that isn't easy to access and send to BHVR, such as cloud ID and Steam ID. There's no reason that it should be harder than just attaching a video clip (console is always recording) and a brief description of the issue.
I would love to play with crossplay off, but the community is so small on Playstation for that at high MMR that I will only play the same people over and over again. I wish we had console only crossplay.
-
It doesn't feel very good to finally mindgame a very good survivor only for them to negate your play by pressing a button and getting to safety. They rarely fall for any mindgames as it is. They then extend the chase to another strong structure. That can cost you the game. I've lost games due to one Dead Hard before. It feels bad man.

I personally don't find SWFS to be a problem. I find maps being VERY broken and safe to be the problem. If pallets were lessoned and made less safe. If broken structures were nerfed. SWF wouldn't matter if you would be getting downs at a rate that's acceptable.
I would love to see less pallets. I would love to see pallets be more 50/50..Either you throw them properly. Or get hit. I would love to see things like house of pains nerfed. 2 stories nerfed. The buffed long walls in coldwind nerfed.
I think those are great suggestions. These nerfs wouldn't impact new players at all because they'd still go down in the same amount of time because they don't understand how to abuse and exploit broken structures, but it would bring very good players more in balance with the average killer. Personally, I don't mind playing against SWFs for the challenge. I understand that the game is stacked against me. I just find it annoying getting BMed by the side that has everything going in their favor. They even have to send you to Cowshed and Haddonfield to make sure you really get dominated. It's great
-
The whole selling point on the MMR system was that you were supposed to be placed with less skilled survivors when you play a new killer or one you have little experience with so that you can learn the killer without getting destroyed. The system doesn't do a very good job of accomplishing that. It gives you a baseline MMR based on your most experienced killer and only lowers it slightly when you're playing a killer that you're not experienced with. It's assumed that because you're really good with Trapper or Pig that you're automatically going to be good enough to play against really good survivors when you pick up Trickster. This system really needs to be tweaked so that it works better in properly matching you based on experience with killer, or scrap that part of the MMR and let us go back to switching killer in lobby since we're not even getting the benefit of easier opponents on our killers we suck with.

“…..super unbalanced in favor of SWF.” FTFY
Like all Asymetrical Horror Games. Very unfortunate.
This is a great point that people tend to overlook. Once people learn how to play a game and work together as a team, it becomes extremely hard to balance in a way where new players don't get completely obliterated. Friday the 13th had this problem as well. When the game first came out, everyone was terrified of Jason and scared to do objectives, fight him, etc. Once players figured out how to exploit the combat mechanics in such a way that you could mob up and fight him directly and he couldn't do anything about it, it was over, he was bully material. They had to try to buff him to extreme levels by the end of the game's tenure to deal with it.
-
There's no chance that they revert the change to prevent quick-scoping. Maybe there's a chance they lower the terror radius again, or give him a lullaby, but I don't think there's a high chance of that. I won't play him anymore. Quick-scoping was what made him fun. It's way too cumbersome trying to walk around looking down the sights. It's too annoying on console where I play. Huntress and Trickster are so much more fun now.
-
Maybe. I was just thinking about the times they told us to play a different game if we didn't like it or how they wanted to make sure teabagging was still satisfying, lol
-
They have a PR department? I couldn't tell
-
I've always been curious why there's been this massive push to ensure killers require a ton of mechanical skill and veteran game knowledge to have a chance to do well. The survivor role takes zero skill to be successful. It just requires holding one button, being on comms with friends, and knowing to split up. That's it
-

wait what is the issue? i dont really know since i've never matched against pinhead
Removing Pinhead's chains is mapped to the action button on console, so it's the same button as throwing and vaulting pallets. This causes the survivor to vault directly into Pinhead when trying to remove chains at a loop.
-
He probably didn't want to play against Pinhead because of the console button mapping issue. I know as a console player that's frustrated by this issue, I'm tempted to disconnect against Pinhead each time, but I don't because it's unfair to my teammates. I just try to do my best and stay out of chase.
-
Playing in such a manner to improve someone else's fun is such a ridiculous notion. If you want to play in a more "fair" way, than just do it because YOU want to, not because survivors will like you more or whatever. That's dumb. I don't have a problem with hard camping and tunnelling in theory, but I choose not to do it because I find it frustrating trying to fight through the endless amount of survivor second chance perks.
No good deed goes unpunished. That unhooked survivor you ignored will immediately go finish that 40% generator nearby without healing while you're chasing the unhooker. I play in a very fair manner and often have 3 escapes with 7 or 8 hooks and I get BMed constantly at the exit gates. By that I mean getting teabagged, macro flashlight clicked, survivors not giving you a hit at the exit gate (they just dead hard away as soon as you get close), or they sit in the gates for the entire EGC while I look for the hatch or stuff to break for points. Most recently, I'm working on Skilled Huntress trophy and one way I've been trying to get long range hatchets is just farming at the exit gate after the game is over, but a lot of survivors straight up refuse to let me get a down even though i'm throwing from 30 meters away and they're clearly safe. The players in this game are just obnoxious unfortunately.
-
Every single time there's a farm map offering, I already know that it's a massive Team Oracle wannabe team. It almost never fails
-
I understand your frustration, I just had a couple really rough games. I don't know why I bother playing killer on a Friday night. I got Grim Pantry as Pyramid Head and every single time I hit a survivor, they just held W to run to the pantry because it would be game throwing for me to chase there. I managed to get one kill. My most recent game I played against a Team Oracle SWF. All iri rank 1 players on a different platform. They burned a farm map offering and we got Torment Creek. They all had meta perks and strong items. I played as Leatherface. I got five hooks and legitimately couldn't even use my power because of how strong the map is for good survivors. How silly is that? I couldn't even use my power because of the map. That's very fun.
-
I could see why you would feel that way if you're a survivor main
