I do enjoy playing with my friends. However, I don’t just play in swf i also solo. The party chat is built into my ps4, it wasn’t an added downloadable software. the game allows me to invite friends in my party specifically. So I’m unsure about your information.

If you’re in a chase, hooked, or downed the timer stops on the RBT. It does not count against you. It also only starts once a gen has been completed upon it’s placement. Even when I solo the RBT isn’t an issue, a tunneling killer is though. It will kill you quicker than the trap. So I guess what I’m saying is, if the killer tunnels that’s everything to do with the killer and not the trap.

Sorry, I didn't reallise you were playing on console and I don't now how it works there. On PC (the platform where the game is still designed ... see the PTB) there is no voice communication service, so players use programs like TeamSpeak or Discord, to be able to communicate during the game. When DBD was released, there was no SWF option too.

About the RBT timer, I guess it's still running while you are on both feets. When you're trying to escape the killer, or if you hide in a bush, I'm quite sure the clock is ticking still. that's what I was talking about.

  • I'd brought a timer on each exits.
After each exit door is open, they could start closing themselves slowly over a 3 minute timer.
After the hatch is opened, the killer might seal it back, but not before 5 minutes are gone.
Any survivor trapped in the level with no exit left should bleed out instantly.

Of course 3 minutes is an example. I doesn't has to be that specific time.

  • @HeroLives said:
We all agree that the Pig needs a small buff to decrease RBT timer. Not much but just enough to make us sweat a little. What do you other survivors think?

I guess the problem comes from your group using voice coms. If you didn't, you'll eventually get seen by the pig while searching for the RTB key, because your teamates won't tell you where she is or where she's going. The time you'll loose on the extra chase will make all the difference.

On the other hand, If devs do decrease that RBT timer, solo players will fall like flies. I'm sorry you find the game too easy, but I guess you brought it on yourself. A nice solution would be to stop using the voice comms because they come from a 3rd party program ; Or you could start playing with 1 or 2 perks per survivors, just to make those SWF games a tad more thrilling.

I sincerely hope you'll will have fun playing the game with your friends. But I hope you understand, you'll always find it too easy in some ways, because voice com are not a feature the game was build for ... and actually you're using a 3rd party programs to get that feature ... which is forbidden (see the ban rules in this forum).

    Yes I'm dead serious.

Good Survivors know where the Killer is without voice, it's not that difficult .

Like I said, they need to add something to the end game tally screen so these stupid posts stop.

So you can't tell the difference between knowing something and guessing something. Alright, I wish I could be around when you play poker. Looks like so much fun. :p

  • Might be another idea to think about: not mixing solo and SWF survivors. It might go that way:

    • Team of 2: just wait until you are paired with another team of 2. The killer might have a minor boost.
    • Team of 3: the game start as if someone disconnected during the loading time (3 survivors, 4 gens to go)
    • Team of 4: buff the killer's mouvement speed by x % ; X being the correct number, decided after a thorough play tests.
  • lol thanks for reminding me. Just began the downloading.

@iceman2kx The problem I see with more bloodpoints is that high level players don't need them, and while the extra cash is nice, I'd rather have fun in the game. Getting blood points at the expense of fun isn't an answer.

  • @MisterCremaster said:
3.) Improve the killers for playing against SWF. My preferred method would be to have slight perk boost to the killer based on the number of SWF players. This way we even the playing field, rather than just rewarding the killer for suffering through it.

I like your ideas. But in my current opinion buffing the killer will not even the playing field. It might lessen the chance for SWF party members to survive, but it cannot even those odds between SWF players and solo players. I believe any buff killers might have, will be felt twice as much by solo players, because they lack the extra informations given by voice communication.

In other words, it doesn't matter if the hammer strike harder, if it strikes always the solo survivors first because they have much less game awareness) !

My suggestion is to remove 1 perk slot to SWF player, for each other people in their team. Running in a team of 4 would give the right to 1 perk each. Running in a team of 2 would give 3 perk slots each. That way, SWF players will still have the upper hand with team communication and elaborate tactics, but on the top of that, they will not also benefit from a full set of perks that looks like they were originally designed to help isolated survivors (like Self Care and Decisive strike).

I'm gonna be honnest, the majority of French already struggle to speak their native language correctly.

Keep in mind that french is a very difficult language to write and speak without flaws, tho.

Lol. Please keep in mind french is not like latin or ancient greek. Meaning it is evolving and defenitely alive ! Whatever the french (and belgium and Quebec fellow, and many west africans) are saying IS correct french speaking, because as they speak, they make their langage evolve in history. Maybe it doesn't seems to be the same langage as some books you read, but it doesn't make it incorrect ; it just make your vision of our langage out of date.

When I meet spanish ppl, they allw ant to learn german. So we learn Spanish and german from each other and the communication language is english. to explain something and so on. works really great. So, to communicate with the world you have to speak english. Other languages are good, but you need a reason to learn it. The more fun you have with languages, the more communication is possible. for learning a language as good as i learened english, its a lot of work to do, but i dont have the time that I need for it. Really sad.

Cheers, man. I'd like to add "To Europe and its people", because there so many interesting person, places and cultures to meet and discover. Still, with England leaving the union, it might be a little bit weird to speak english with each other, even between french and german, or polish and spanish, ... , etc. Anyways, I suppose that's something to deal with in our timeline. :)

PS: sorry for the off topic. Just waiting for the PTB, enjoying a nice conversation.

My guess is: a little bit of ignorance of foreign langages, and a little bit of lazzyness, since it is much easier to listen someone speaking in a foreign langage than actually speaking it. FinLadd, it might look strange to you but, since after the end of the WW2, France politician were worried about was felt like a cultural invasion from Anglo-Saxon countries (such like the US or the UK). Music, litterature, movies, even fashion ... all of it where getting influenced by our former allies. In the 70' and 80', french education policies didn't felt the necessity to prepare children for a soon to be english speaking world. So here we are now: french people who speak english, almost all work in the tourism, informatic, or business area.

So in other words, please have patience, because things are getting better now. And remember that someone might not speak english but still understand it very well ... so please try learn some little french, and we will be able to communicate just fine.

What a lot of you fail to understand is that there is no difference between 4 good solo Survivors and 4 SWF.

Now you can't be serious ? With voice communication, SWF will know where the killer is about to go and always are at least 5 seconds ahead any of his moves. These 5 seconds makes all the difference between being caught off gard (repairing a gen, or oppening the gates) and not. Maybe you can't tel the difference, because solo survivors are ahead of you anyway, but you can at least understand that guessing something from experience and knowing something for sure, thanks to voice communication, are absolutly not the same.
Guesses can be tricky, so killers might mind game their way around them. On the other hand, knowledge is knowledge, there's nothing killers can do, if the survivor knows exactly where they are.

  • @powerbats said:
Since if the killer knows players 1 and 2 are swf or even 1-3 he'll tunnel and camp the solo queues because they're much easier.

Dude, what's wrong with you ! You ARE saying, RIGHT HERE, that solo players are easier to catch than SWF. How can you then pretend there is nothing to be done to prevent this disadventage. And don't tell me about solo players being noobs or whatever as if you ignored that voice coms have a huge impact on the game, even though DBD, do not have its own comm service.

Just to be clear: solo player's disaventage do not come from DBD itself, since it comes mainly from 3rd party programs like voice comm programs as TeamSpeak. Thus, trying to balance survivors VS killers in general makes no sense at all because any advantage (better maps, or 5th perk, or whatever) given to the killers will be felt twice as much by solo players which have nothing to do with the problem at hand.

So, the key to a balanced game, is to make SWF parties, less awesome. And since devs canno't cut the voice communications (because this is not par of DBD anyways), they need to debuff SWF players drasticly.

  • @powerbats said:
Since if the killer knows players 1 and 2 are swf or even 1-3 he'll tunnel and camp the solo queues because they're much easier.

Here you go ! Now that you finally admited it, what might you do to even things out ?

PS: so many words dude and you're still not giving ideas on the topic here. Save for the map twiking which might be interesting but let's face it: if the new set up favors the killers, then solo players are even more fu**ed than they was before.

RE PS : yes it is cheating because it falls in the "other hacks" section of the game banning rules, in this forum. Read it, you'll see.

  • Guys (@Baphomett and @powerbats ), here we're discussing a problem and its possible solution. You have the right to not believe in said problem, no harm done, but for G sake, don't come here to disrupt our nice conversation. If you wish so, there is plenty room in this forum. Feel free to start a new conversation where you might complain about people complaining too much.

Just to be clear: I'm not saying you shouldn't tell us how you feel about our point of view. But there is another place for that, because here is the place where we talking about possible solution for killers tired of the SWF groups.

So here I go : I do not believe the devs can cut SWF off the game, nor they can separate them in the lobbies from the solo players ... in fact I believe solo player are usefull to SWF mostly as filler to reach the mandatory 4 survivors. I feel the killer should not be rewarded either for having players cheating on his own game (voice com were never part of the game, hence those are cheats).

So I believe the solution should be to remove perk slot to the SWF players. One less perk slot for each friend teamate. This might encourage SWF to go with teams of 2 instead of 4 which might be much better for the game balance.

  • @powerbats said:

Killers don't play the game to amuse and entertain swf parties. Go play kyf.

Most play this game to enjoy it as swf, so they have just as much right to have fun as the killer does. So who cares because you'll dc and or lobby dodge against 4 solos if you can't down someone. Don't get the map you wanted as killer, quit, don't like the offerings, quit.

I've watched as 4 ppl all join singly repeatedly and the killer dodges because gasp the survivors dare bring 1 or more fl, tb, med kits. I've watched killers dodge the moment they see more than 1 P3. What quite a few of you complainers actually want are easy games, not a challenge.

When I'm killer i could care less if it's a swf group with 4 fl or 4 DS. I'm going to try and kill everyone regardless of who you are or what you bring. I enjoy the challenge and quite often I get wrecked, but I also get 4ks occasionally as well. I use their strengths against them since I know how they'll play, someones hooked well someones coming to rescue.

Because I know how they'll play I know which ways they'll take to go for that rescue and quite often the hooked person gets to stage 2 on the hook. While they might get rescued now they'll do everything they can to avoid my attention. If I find that person the others will quite often body block for them.

That means between 1-4 people are now not on gens and I get free hits in thus making them stay off gens longer. There's the added benefit that taking on swf makes you a better killer over the long run since you sharpen your reflexes. Your bad habits as a killer get exposed, the mistakes you make and get away with you can't get away with anymore.

Nice story dude. Still the game was not designed to support team communication, so its balance is wrecked because of SWF parties. Those are not complaints, nor this is an epic tale about how we can overcome our weaknesses. This are just facts.

But hopefully, when the balance will be found eventually, that day feel free to complain about the game being too easy, and we might discuss a solution to fix your personnal problem.

I dont know. Since i need steam to play DbD would steam voice comms be allowed if others aren't?

All I know is, I tried SWF just once with someone I befriended on Steam. Thanks to the Steam live chat, he told me how to create a TeamSpeak account ... and we played with that voice comms service. So unless TeamSpeak was one of the whitelisted program, I've been cheating that day, and if someone could have given the proof of it, according to the dev's rules, I would have been banned.

  • @Vietfox said:
I absolutely agree that SWF needs a especial treatment, i've said that more than once. Me and some people have suggested to nerf survivors perks who are playing with friends, you suggest to remove 1 perk per friend, which i personally find too harsh, but it's your opinion.

You're right, that might be too harsh, but I like the idea anyway because it is so simple. No much code to add, almost anything more to design AND no eventual balance mess. I mean if team of 3 or 4 are not worth it, people might preffer to play by pair of two, wich I believe is quite not the same in the killer point of view.

    @Vietfox said:
PS: i wouldnt call using voice comms a cheat because you are not tweaking any game's code, but ok.

    Other hacks
Using 3rd party software or other tools to gain any kind of unfair advantage wasn’t intended by the game, except if they have been whitelisted by us. Heavy proof and a video recording is mandatory.

Did any voice communication program have been officialy whitelisted ?

  • @Vietfox count me in with the SWF bashing. The whole game wasn't designed around the idea of survivor having voice communication anyway.
Also, I didn't noticed before playing killer more intensely last week, but SWF also ignore ranks !
Yeah, that's right, not only I was learning to play killer, and survivors where cheating already because of voice coms (I say cheating because they use a extern program for the communication, to have an edge on the game), but on the top of that I had many outranked people in my lobby (a rank 2 once) even though I was rank 15 !

Note that I was against SWF already, even when I wasa survivor main. Anyway I know people want to survive with their super dupper team of friends, so here's a deal:

    • Please do not try to bribe me with more blood points. I'm not SWF's people prostitute ... I play to enjoy my time, not to their enjoyment, nor to farm any kind of points.

    • As a novice killer I'd like to have fun learning the game. So I suppose, it should be easier for me to play against those cheating and odd-ranked SWF players. I propose that for each SWF teamate a player has, that player might have one less perk slot for the duration of the game. For example: if a player has 3 teamate (full team of 4 then), he have only access to 1 perk for the game. If there is 2 teams of 2 player each, all of them might have a maximum of 3 perks.

Sorry man, but that's the way it is ... ideas are just like roads : sometimes we get lost, and sometime we get to the the very end of them ... there are many dead ends too. Sometimes we are lucky enough to have a glimpse of our true destination ... only on those times we may choose to reconsider our ways, if it's not too late already.

Dude you didn't quite understand what I did. What I said wasn't about war or its victims at all. This was all about the totalitarian way of thinking which is not something we might encounter only in geopolitics situation ; in fact there are some kind of ideas (like yours actually) which eventually, leads to totalitarism. I do not believe you are a war criminal, however, I believe you have a fascist way to see the DBD environment. Read Hannah Arendt for more information.

All I can see by your words, and the horrible quotes you keep sending here, is you are prone to divide the gamers in two categories :

    • Those who play to win : seems like you believe they are an elite wich are above any kind of social rules when it come to play a game. For example, the game of go have many social rules to follow, and one are not obliged to follow them. Playing according to those rules is the honorable way of playing.

    • The scrubs : who hide their weakness behind arbitrary social rules. Those might be losers, and their poor results might be because of their beliefs, but for some obscure reason YOU can't just take your win against them, instead ; you also want to believe they deserved to lose. As if there were an universal order, where elite players was naturally and moraly better than the "scrubs" of the gaming society ... does that ring a bell to you now ?

Here's the final blow. Since you cannot stand the scrub's mediocrity (again, why can't you ?), you are willing to segregate them and cast them out of your society of elite players.

DO I REALLY NEED TO GO ON ?

You're absolutely right ! And I believe that's why we're discussing those rules right now in this forum. Social rules are all imaginary by nature, that's why they're constantly evolving with years and people debating them. That doesn't mean they can't be usefull, but at least it means they are never carved in stone.

In my opinion the more important thing is to not believe "rules" (any kind of them) are for losers only ... neither in real life, nor in a video game, because THIS leads to pain and madness. But on the other hand, every one should have the right to debate those rules as they please.

  • @pauloandrade22 said:

Yours is. Your objective is good and right and true, and let no one tell you otherwise. You have the power to dispatch those who would tell you otherwise, anyway. Simply beat them."

    http://www.sirlin.net/ptw-book/introducingthe-scrub

Now I wished I could writte a proper english answer because your post and the article litteraly made me want to throw up and I really want you to understand why.

Heard about "end justifies the means" ? In real life, every single war has started with this tiny little idea in someone's head ; this happens when that person thinks he/she is entitled to win something at any cost, even putting someone else's life at risk. Nazis for instance thought that the german was the strongest people of the world, and because of that belief, they couldn't even imagine their possible faillure. So, like you said, they "played to win" and in the end they pissed so many nations off that they packed together to put the german down ... just like Isis, and so many more example in history. This specific belief : playing to win = the end justifies the means IS WRONG BY NATURE ; let me explain why.

In real life, there are the "rules" of physics, which prevent us to fly without any kind of help or equipment. In video games, you might compare them to the game code. These nature "rules" are concrete, and one cannot break them even if they whished to. Anyways, on top of what nature gived us, human beings have their own social rules. Those are very important, to prevent people from murdering each other whenever they want to (that was just an example). Every once in a while a person or a group, decide to challenge those social rules, because why not ? They're right about something : Nature let them kill whenever they want. So why not doing it ? Because the human species would probably die, if there were no social rule to prevent mass murdering. So as a concequence, there are social rules to prevent this behavior, and thus come justice : a force aimed to prevent such things to happen. In the end : a murderer CAN kill people but he shouldn't anyway, because sooner or later he/her might face the justice of men.

In video games, there is a game code, and social rules as well. Of course we could discuss at length about what is fair play and what is not ; this is decided here in the community debates. Anyways, when someone says I "play to win" and uses tactics wich are frowned upon ... people doesn't die of course, but surely people quit the game. After a while players with some ethic sense are tired to constantly incarnate the justice they they need, to punish toxic behavior and in the end the game's player base become thiner and thiner.

So yes Mr Roach, you might believe social rules are for losers. You might even believe that breaking social rules, even in a simple video game has no concequences, but anything you do ever, trigger some kind of reaction. Letting people believe that they may break social rules without any kind of backfire, is downright criminal, because in one side or another there is always pain down this road. In DBD's case the risk is the game's lifespan itself. Now what is the point of winning, if you can't play the game anymore ?

  • @Iceman said:
This seems to be a bit of a stretch, it will be a challenge to implement her into the game, seeing that she only deals with people who are pregnate. And the only time she does harm is when she give a living person her dead baby, they get crushed under its weights as it gets heavy.

You're absolutly right ! I quickly wrote this post to open up the debate. Also, some little things are still bugging me in the trailer. The slit mouth theory in my opinion can't fully explain everything that's going around.
    Things like:

    • Why is there is blood on the floor before the slashing even happens ?
MG (my guess) : Could be a corpse and someone tries to resurect it, or there was a woman giving birth.

    • Why the victim is bare foot with her foot drenched in blood ?
MG : bit of a stretch but again, might be the birth of a child.

    • Why is there such a medieval japan vibe to the video, while we can briefly see a light bulb on the floor ?
MG : the devs are misleading us for some reason.

    • Last but not least : why calling the video "first cut" while there are three ? I mean by the sound of it, the victim sound more shoked (as if seeing someone she loves getting slashed) than pysically hurt. The second cut however ...

  • look at the video again. 15th second we can see a light bulb on the floor. Despite the japanese medieval vibe of the video, we're 100% sure this is at least the 20th century. The killer might not be a samurai or a ninja or waterver after all. And there is no solid evidence, the victim will not rise from the dead and seek revenge as the killer.

Why would we be forced, seriously ? All I'm saying is there might be a lot of people on tuesday, wanting to play in the PTB, just to see what the new stuff is ... and directly experience it. Why would they not ? Are PTB so toxic that it might be better to watch a video of it than to actually playing it ?

But yes, the PTB is usually toxic or at least very unhealthy. Because people use all their ultra rare add-ons and disconnect on the first down.

They should have done a proper reveal where they play the new killer and survivor on the new map. Showing the new power, perks, etc.

I could be mistaking, but are they not doing that on purpose ? Maybe they want us to go and see their new content in the PTB so they can gather as much people (good / bad / neewb / veterans) as they can, just to test the stuff and collect some data. I believe that if we MUST go on the PTB to see if the killer is a samurai or whatever, the tests might have some succes.

And the typical american horror stories arent? We literally got all the most known apart from Jason in this game.

    Still missing the gremlins though.

  • But why calling this video "first cut", there has to be a reason, right ? Is this because this is the first murder scene we get to see in one of this chapter's teaser (meaning there will be more before next tuesday) ? Or is this because we witnessed the first cut which might lead to many more (meaning the woman who gets slashed out, might be reborn as the killer) ?
Anyways, I bet the survivor will be a descendant of the undead killer. Maybe an elderly male with a background like "my familly was persecuted by this demon for two hundred years". Also that might fit with the monologue where "daughter" might be any female related to the killer downside the familly tree.

See it's a Japanese killer, facepalm to people thinking its Ghostface, Licensed, Wolverine etc

    100% Kuchisake-onna

Still pretty sure it's gonna be Gremlins, they are supposed to be japanese are they not ? :p

  • I bet for a giant gremlin killer. Litteraly pissing on generators to sabotage them and hanging to ceiling fans. Also mogwais instead of totem ... don't feed the bad ones !

I like the concept they had for him being able to mimick survivors I wondered what that would be like to think you’re about to help a teammate and it’s really the killer , ...

I like the idea, but sadly SWF players would ruin it ... so many intersting idea are automatically dismissed because players massively cheat with voice communication ... that's disheartening.

  • @Akbays that depends on your definition of camping. Also when the gates are open and there is no generator to guard, most killer will camp the survivor they have on the hook, because why not. When gates are open, chasing people (without NOED) just means pushing people out of the game. Anyways, if this is the end of the game, the player on the hook had plenty of time to play ... and at the end of the day, some survivors won't survive

  • what about the extra barbecue invitation, will they be refunded by any chance ?

It's just, I see their point, but is there seriously no way to nerf SWF instead of buffing the hell out of them?

Agreed : giving kindred to SWF on top of everything they already have, makes no sense.
There are many ideas to make SWF and Solo survivors even. The fairest and final one would be to separate solo and SWF survivors once and for all ... giving killers in SWF matches the boost they need to keep up. Still we need to know if there are enough survivors to divide the player base. If one of the modes ends up empty ... game's over for a large number of player, and it might collapse DBD as a whole.

I thought about special solo (stronger) perks, avaible in the bloodweb after prestiging. When entering a lobby as a SWF those special perks would be removed from the character's skill slots, so the player might replace them with normal ones. Hopefully that might even things up between SWF and solo survivors, and then killer should have a significant boost to reach a global balance. With this way of doing, at least, every solo player won't have to get a mandatory kindred ... their perk, their choices.

they recently gave the key to learning the game faster with the perk WOO (windows of opportunity) for experienced players it's trash tier but it's perfect for noobs that are learning the game.

By the way, that means the dev team is concerned about giving every one a good time (not just veterans of course). Creating a perk more valuable to the beginners than to the experienced player is just great design.

@Utna... the thing is if the devs continue to balance around the noobs coming to the game the game will become to easy.. they recently gave the key to learning the game faster with the perk WOO (windows of opportunity) for experienced players it's trash tier but it's perfect for noobs that are learning the game... when we started playing there was no tutorial we were thrown into the game and told to git gud... some of that experience should still be in this game... those who cant take the challenge should stop playing that easy... I died (along with many other noob players to the Souls series) 27 times to my first boss there were nerfs to the boss fights... I got stomped in pvp to vet invaders no nerfs came... why cant behavior be like Fromsoftware and tell the noobs to git gud

Simple answer : because this is not YOUR game : it is everyone's game. Please stop complaining about how easy it is and move on to a game where you might learn something new ... something exciting. But for F* sake do not remove that opportunity to new players, because they spend their money on the game (or its cosmetics) just like you did.

Personally I find that the hook save event is plenty scary for new players. Seeing a friend hanging bloody from a meat hook as pounding a heartbeat draws near will make plenty newer players scared.** This being said, they'll never go for the save if they think someone else is going for it. **

Dude I don't know what your end game is ; believing survivors should all be super strong like SWF, but let's be real for a moment. Didn't you start this game for the first time, and sucked at it for a while ... or where you suddenly one of the world's greatest player ? Why don't you have faith on people like me who actually played the tutorial before having an online game ... or maybe people like you. Why on earth would you believe you managed to get better at this game, while new player NEED TO BE TOLD HOW TO PLAY IT. Man this isn't about how good you are, nor it is about how good you believe your teamates should be. This is about people buying a videogame, and enjoying it as they see fit !

For the sake of new players and for the love of god give kindred as a base perk. Newbie survivors will gladly let a hooked team mate die on their first hook otherwise, they have absolutely no idea what they are doing. All they know is they are scared to hell because of the killer + heartbeat and they know to either do gens or hide mostly due to freaking out. Kindred will give them the ol "hey, how about some help over here?" I think it's needed badly.

Maybe being scared is what they like about the game. Would it be so hard to believe ? After all DBD is an horror game. Why would you take that from new players, don't they have the right to be make their own mistake, and to get better eventually ? Does everyone need to be good and bored, or can we just take it easy and have some fun ?

    @Brady said:
I was really supportive of kindred as base kit, but I've seem to changed my mind... As a survivor, and someone who plays solo, enjoys the way the game works as of now. I don't want information handed to me on a silver plate; I want the fun in guessing if someone is in a chase, on a gen, or going for a hook save. The actual effort of going for the save and having to find out hes camping. I don't want such an effortless side anymore... I want some challenge and when I play SWF I don't feel that way, which is why I stopped and moved onto PC and went solo.

It sucks SWF has ruined that last sense of horror this game had. What fun.

Just my thoughts, thank you !

but did the devs ever say they never meant to add SWF? it doesnt matter what you think or other youtubers say only what the devs do. also if you want a more immersive horror survival game look at another post i comment on called ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGES [BRINGING SOME REALISM TO DBD]

LOL, look at you talking realism even though you believe it's OK that we all "magicaly" know what the killer and other survivor are doing thanks to the coms. By the way, I've read your post days ago. That was about weather change right ? I'm not against it, but let's face it this is just cosmetic and this has nothing to do with the gameplay DBD is supposed to have.

Now despite I gave you a logical explanation about why DBD was not meand for SWF in the first place, you didn't believe me. That's alright. Yet 10 seconds of googeling made me find this : https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Survive_With_Friends

let me quote it: Survive With Friends was implemented in Patch 1.0.3 on immense popular request.
Here, that's exactly what I was talking about. Now, can you tell me again why we should drop the solo gameplay ?

  • @TheLegendDyl4n1 said:
and also how do you know the game was never meant to be SWF

For the most part, I read it in other people's comments, and probably in one of Tyde Tyme's youtube video. But the reason I am confident about the core game being solo, is BECAUSE it is so ridiculously easy for a dead player to see the killer perks and snitch them out. See the logic here ? The problem only exists because the game wasn't meand to be played on coms. Otherwise devs would have build a different end game screen to hide those information, since the dawn of the game. Also any perks granting the players to see their teamate's aura don't make much sense when playing with coms.

I know you gave a way to fix the snitch thing and the voice problem, but I didn' t react to that because there are just details ... I mean SWF players will still be stronger than solo ones, even if they stop the perk snitching from happening, and even if you shut down one of your teamate's mic sometimes. So once again let me say it:
I don't want to have better abilities nor I want to know where the killer is at all times and most of all, I don't want to know exactly how other survivors will react to stressful situation during the game, because being surrpised is part of my fun.

ALL I WANT IS THE GAME TO BE WHAT I BOUGHT IT FOR : AN IMMERSIVE HORROR SURVIVAL GAME.
Please don't take it away from me. You might find what you look for in Death Garden. I believe it is more about team play.

  • @TheLegendDyl4n1 said:
i think they should just say F**K it and add voice communication for the survivors only and where the killer >cant hear them talking and a way to mute other survivors if they are too annoying or ear #########.

DBD was designed around the solo experience. This is why team players can still see the killer perks after being killed and snitch them out ... because in the first place, the game wasn't build for SWF at all. Still I understand why many people want to be paired with their friends, but voice coms are just plain cheating.

I tried voice coms once, and I hate it because:
    1. Knowing where the killer is at almost all time isn't funny. Why would I play an horror survival game if I can't be sneaked on sometimes ? Also, thanks to voice coms we can repair generator in a relaxed state of mind, making skillchecks even easier ... but totally destroys the game setting and balance !
    2. I don't know you but having a 14 years old teamate cracking jokes in his mic, prevents me to get in the spooky vibe of the game, wich is in my opinion DBD's best quality.

All in all please don't ruin further this game, asking devs to get rid of the core of the game (solo playing). Come on there is plenty games to play with friends ... why choose an horror survival one ?
