On survivor side, I've had a lot of luck recently with dodging the tail on reaction, it seems as if it's slowed down quite a bit (forgot to clip these, only game I had against a Xeno since the patch).

On killer side, there is no universe where any of these hits, where my tail hitbox runs straight through the survivor's hitbox, somehow miss, with an open time that is somehow longer than Nemesis. Nemesis hits any of those hits any day of the week. How in the world do these miss? Can we please get a dev to review this footage and comment on it?

    https://streamable.com/kay91z

In the first video if u reproduce it at 0,5 speed you can clearly see it failed but the second one its clearly a hit.I think they made the hit tail with same hitbox as deadslinger harpoon

That might be good in the us, but here in europe, i often play with russians, with whom i dont even share a common alphabet. You have lots of people in europe that dont speak english, and there is no way to communicate with them even with an ingame voice chat. That means you would just throw those people under the bus, because you balanced the game for a level they cant play it on.

No, i think it would do way more harm.

I still think its better to seperate swf and solo queue and balance both seperatly.

Well you can put ur preference in languaje

  • Deadslinger with any killer.Just harpoon him and the other killer start hitting it till dying state

  • I would make something like

Parasyte cells: Hold M2 to make a tendril like harpoon ( yeah like xeno ) that surv will be on deep wound.Press control to have for a brief time killer instinct to those affected by Parasyte cells, each certain time you can hold control M1 to teleport to an infected surv (animation in the floor like The singularity recomposing)

Each time you hit someone with tendrill you will adopt the form of that surv for 30 secs till you attack another surv.

Excluding archives why do you feel the need to sweat. I'm not throwing shade or trying to start an argument but I had this convo recently with a killer and it got me curious.

For context: The killer was (clearly) new to playing Nemesis, didn't really have a grasp of the tentacle yet and spent most of the game missing every single one and couldn't really keep up with us survivors. We weren't running meta builds either and were all solo everyone was kinda just doing dumb stuff and the killer still struggled. After awhile he got 1 person and tried to camp them (we still had 2 gens left to do) and this was his first hook. Game went on for awhile due to us trying to prevent that person from being tunneled. Lot of slugging and trying to get 1 person out and eventually they got them and nearly had all 4 of us for trying to protect (but I ran all 4 boons so we just picked ourselves up and reset) end game chat was me wondering why they cared so much about the kill when their reward would be better players and they clearly can't handle casual ones.

So I got curious and came here to pick peoples brain on why exactly they sweat. I don't mean "Oh I wanted to secure the kill because I needed someone out" or "running meta perks to get help vs nurse/blight"

I'm talking about people whose intention is to use every single advantage (no matter how tiny) to win the game. Nurse/Blights with the best addons and a map offering who play like their life is on the line or SWFs who bring map offerings and the best items and meta perks while they have comms to completely dominate the killer without them getting so much as 1 hook.

Vs a casual opponent typically nobody has fun because you dominate so hard they don't get to do anything and nobody really gets to play and vs someone who is also sweating nobody has fun because of just how evil you have to play to win.

Well I do sweat depending of the player i play vs

The Killswitch does not require a Patch. But I think if you did not reload the game, you will still be able to get Flashlights. And, as already said, they will still be in Chests. But more difficult to pull without the respective Perks.

There will be people who will leave the pc on to avoid flashlight ban lol

  • @Zokenay said:

So just learned Flashlights were kill switched (thank god) but anyway, if this glitch ever happens again, now you know how to help the killer deal with these losers.

I guess surv gonna be mad at behaviour they cant flashblind save their teammates anymore

I think I lost today 20 games in a row mainly against Alien. And after the 10th loss I just gave up all my games after seeing the first surv being hooked after half a minute with no actual gen progress.

I've played DBD for 5 years, mostly killer but started recently to participate as survivor too. I don t want to play SWF-easy-mode because I like the unpredictable and thrilling solo games. But since the alien release most of the games are just terrible and I mean terrible (before it was around 50/50). Maybe new gamers joined, maybe old gamers who took a break for years too. I don t know and it doesn t matter. Fact is a lot of the solo players don't know how to deal with certain killers (and thats okay, they will learn). Especially when they have to do other stuff than repairing gens like placing turrets, removing condemed or just solving a simple cube. And even repairing gens is a big task. I get constantly matched with those kind of teammates and it is depressing to see how bad every game runs. And as the cherry on the cake these inexperienced gamers are thrown into matches with experienced killers. So whats the point in playing these matches anyways. There is no way to escape and hiding until the last got killed to get to the hatch is boring.

This is not a rant about killers being to strong (because they aren't) and no I don t want you to nerf killers.

Another example of the opposite. In my last game we really destroyed the killer (wesker) and I don t think it was even his fault. Gens were done in under 5 minutes (and I hadn t even a toolbox or a gen progress perk), I wasn t hit once, he got one hook and even that guy escaped at last. So why wasn t this killer matched with a groop of inexperienced players, like those I mentioned before? What's wrong with the entire matchmaking system and will you fix this? Or do u want me to wait until the inexperienced alien fans leave this game again, before I get some "balanced" games? Because there seems actually no point in playing solo. Or did i miss something?

TLTR i w ill answer title: RIFT challenges

I wish BHVR would put out stats based on SWFs and Solo players. I think it would destroy peoples perception on this game.

But 4 SWF not 2 or 3 lets talk about teams

  • @H2H said:

Lots of survivors absolutely think any individual survivor should be as strong as the killer, which is absurd on its face.

Yep they forgot about the others 3 surv players

  • @ratcoffee said:

why are you saying "the survivors think that the survivors and the killer should be equal" is like a bad thing? the only way I can interpret a statement like that is "oh no, the survivors want the game to be balanced and fair, how dare they! clearly the only fair thing would be for the game to be balanced disproportionately in favor of one player! we should definitely strive make sure the minority of players get an easy game at the expense of making it nigh-unwinnable for the majority of players, not any of that making-the-game-balanced-for-everyone nonsense." surely you can't mean that, but I can't figure out what you do mean; please try to clarify

Its asimetric game so 1 v 1 surv should lose, its a 4 ( team) vs 1 (killer)

It's down to the discretion of the license holder. Not every licensed skin is a set.

Which skin licensed is not on this game?

The problem with Lore Accurate Michael Myers is it depends on which lore you're talking about

He's either an immortal unstoppable killing machine that you can put down but can never actually take out or just a really big dude with a knife and just about everything in-between

Cause like...being immortal would make him really hard to kill. Being a big dude with a knife would make him relatively easy to kill.

If a big dude with a knife its bad but even if he is inmortal nemesis could quit his head from his body perfectly

  • @Bad_Channels said:

Michael Myers has his knife, screwdriver, and pipe. How well would the Incarnate of Evil Michael Myers himself do against these other killers?

    Myers vs Xenomorph

    Myers vs Nemesis

    Myers vs Wesker

    Myers vs Singularity

It might have chance vs xenomorph but he would be really bad injured

Agaisnt nemesis and wesker it would eat dirt.

Nemesis would beat him to a pulp and wesker can avoid bullets so imagine a knife.

Singularity depends if he can really bent metal?

  • Casuals forget that if they dont play time much time even much more depending of the person you wont be good at it.

Everything in life is practise and DBD need much of it.If u play 1h on the weekends and with this mmr you will eat dirt always

    1. I don't know if this is bug or not but his biggest problem is missing tail hits is so forgiving. He is not losing distance. If this is bug, fix will happen. If it is not bug, he definetly need be a bit slower when he miss tail attack. And he is building bloodlust as well when use power, i am sure building bloodlust is 100% bug.
    2. Xeno has strong camp & tunnel potential. I noticed a lot of them are hiding in tunnel and then out immediatly whenever hook save happen. Similar to Dredge, block closest tunnels to hook for few seconds. They can enter ofcourse, they just can't teleport back. Only for few seconds. Dredge is good example here.
    3. It's really so hard to tell if he is gonna use power or not. If warning become more clear, survivor can act better.

Bonus: This one will be QoL but turrets can not be placed everywhere. This is really big problem in indoor maps. So making them placable to more places will be better.

Besides this, i don't think he needs more changes. Without his bugs, we can test his real strength again.

Dredge and xeno last the same time to go out when an unhook happens. You climb slower as xeno

I get what you're saying, but I think it's actually caused by the opposite of striving for balance. One sided dominance is indicative of a lack of balance. Either side in this game is still capable of completely blowing away the other side with a loadout if the other side doesn't bring an equivalent busted loadout. That hasn't changed and that has always been the case with DbD. The power spike is just lessened to a degree.

For everyone one person who thinks unbalanced things lead to fun outcomes and random swings, you're going to have another person who thinks those things are cheap and unfun. The biggest mistake asymm developers and communities make is thinking their games are somehow unique and that the problems of other PVP games don't apply to them. There are always going to be two types of gamers: casual and competitive. Everyone is on a spectrum between those two ends. Casual players can't fathom that competitive players find the fun in competition, and competitive players can't fathom that casual players don't care about winning (a point of contention with me, because why would they care if people sweat then). ANYWAY...

Asymm developers need to stop throwing everyone into the same pool and hoping gamers will all just get along. It's not going to happen. Almost every other game out there tries to split the playerbase as best they can between casuals and sweats. Asymm developers think they're unique and don't need to do that. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy sometimes. Your playerbase can't support the split queue because you don't offer it in the first place.

Im on the competitive spectrum and I dont mind if surv wanna hang out with weird combinations but I came here to kill.

    The issue is...

Competitive vs Competitive ( if both are enought good actitude) is okay

Casual vs competitive the casual get stomped even before he uses the perk he wanna use to chill and then we have the cries.

They beep more the closer Xeno is and then shut off for a few seconds when they emerge from the tunnels. It's like an artificial terror radius.

How about to put em close to loops instead to actually have a chance to make him m1

The Alien Chapter comes with a skin, and whether the practice of including skins in a Chapter and turning them into a "pack" is a good thing is a seperate discussion to what I want to bring attention to with this post.

I actually quite liked the look of the outfit and wanted to use it, albeit with the default hair instead of the shorter one, because I thought that would be a nice look.

However, when I launched the game and checked my outfits...

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/5ABHKQDU6BJ1/image.png

    Oh, it's a set.

There is absolutely no mention of the fact that this outfit is a set AT ALL on the Steam Chapter page. This is quite honestly misleading, as whether a skin is a set or not is a pretty major factor that goes into the decision of buying a skin for a lot of people.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/JJRZ6ZZYYDW0/image.png

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/FPNLS5A00WCP/image.png

It doesn't even have the set icon next to the outfit or anything. I'm not joking when I say that the word "set" does not appear on the store page at all.

This is really disappointing, to be honest.

Licensed stuff are always set btw they arent lying u get skin

Thank you. I dislike it, when you tubers words are made gospel. I think we can all have an opinion on the matter.

On the cooldown, I am with you. It could be longer.

The tail however, is fine in my book.

It is strong because there are the turrets to counter it.

What point is there for a power that is predictable, easy to dodge and has the possibility to be disabled completely?

Make you average casual players happy and allow your SWF expert team to tbag another killer in the exit gate

  • The basement is on the big ship entrance

  • Think as the killer , bait window or pallet drop and flamethrower placement. Most likely nemesis?

  • @Crowman said:

It's because the people who complain about a killer being too strong are often the people who don't actually want to try to learn how to play against them.

They prefer being carried by free easy counter like EMPs

  • @mizark3 said:

The turrets probably need a buff. It seems like they took all the wrong feedback from Singularity. "You can just grab and go and use it while running." Ok, now you have to spend 2-3s grabbing the turret, get 35% hindered while carrying the turret, and 2-3s to set up the turret after you get the wonky collision to actually accept placement on the map (more disgusting on indoor maps/structures). On top of all that, the Killer can reaction tail whip a turret without add-ons and still stay in power. The turret add-ons (range and flame resistance) are training wheels kind of like Plaid Flannel on Nurse. Once Xenos learn the timing, they will be even more powerful.

Also if you are trying to grab a turret when Xeno pops out of the tunnel, they get a free hit. Maybe make that count as a destroyed turret (for the map limit and cooldowns), but take 2-3s longer to get out of the tunnel. There is a similar problem if you grab the turret and walk 2 steps before the Xeno emerges, but that is a different issue. To fix that, I would remove the hindered, but make it so if you run, you drop the turret without using an animation. That way you can only use the normal walk 2.26m/s instead of the current 2.6m/s 'running' speed carrying a turret with the 35% hindered. This does boost the slowdown with turrets, but removes free hits from carrying turrets as well.

Press drop keyboard to drop turret

  • @Xendritch said:

I think nothing needs to be touched.

The add-ons are training wheels for new players to get them more comfortable with the turrets. I don't use them anymore and can deal with badly placed turrets consistently.

The turrets themselves are also fair you get one chance to hit them and if you miss you lose your power. How they were before you basically couldn't react to them without add-ons.

Everything is in a good place now. Turrets arn't weak they're just not free value.

Very agree with the free value

  • @Evan_ said:

C'mon, everyone knows Predators are very sportsmanlike hunters that only use their heat-seeking plasma-cannons and other high-tech gadgets against armed prey and when they feel like it. They'll probably 8-hook everyone before taking trophies unless survivors stun him, do a gen, use a flashlight, bodyblock, teabag, point, have Exhaustion or Endurance perks, dress funny or outnumber him.

I think survs have already enought weps.

    Flashlights= killer get plasma cannon.

Exhaustion perk= Killer use razor net.

Pallets= Killer get invisibility + fast movement.

Medkits= Killer use shurikens( ohh hell if surv complains of huntress hatches just wait for the 5 m shuriken hitbox)

0 punishment when they missing tail hits

No indication or sound before wind up, now you just die.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I think they're really frustrating and pull you out of your power for way too long. I just don't think the concept of giving survivors the ability to cancel a killer's power is a good one. They should be able to counter it, but not straight up cancel it for a length of time a la Singularity and Xenomorph. This forces the killer into a lose-lose. You either lose efficiency to work around it or try to bludgeon your way through, but there's no counter to the counter, just mitigation. It's just frustration by design against high level players.

At the moment I didnt found turrets opressive i think you have enought time to react to a turret without add ons (I play addonless always)

Maybe on those bullysquad premades im more out of power but not even close to the frustration as playing singularity

    Those are my 2 cents

  • The xeno doesnt have genre so it should be "it."

I think dredge and demo should be it too while singularity could be it or he by the voice he uses becuz he could use any voice despite of it he uses neutral male voice

  • They will nerf him cuz he is a nub stomper and even with SoloQ he can win and due to the cries

  • Well is easy you just need to think where to put a turret to make him m1

Update game to engine 5 and kill old gen

  • Well scream makes the game more interactive are u having fun m1ing becuz i had games that i literally i knew who was the killer at the tally screen.

Wesker have direct mechanic to counter him with First Aid Sprays, yet people still consider him fun to play as and strong enough despite the first aid sprays.

The solution isn't to remove EMPs, but to change them to make them feel less annoying for Singularity to play against as well as just making Singularity feel more fluent to play as overall.
