I’m not sure, but after watching one video, person was claiming that something broke with 9.3.0 patch and AC was brought to the state of one-two year old quality.

Meaning some players can abuse weakness that was resolved years ago again. I’m on my rest from this game, so not sure how actually trustful this information is. Even not sure is it some seasonal rant on cheaters or they actually became more active.

For some reasons, you tube occasionally recommend me videos of players who use them. It's few weeks old channels that gain a lot of views within days. I was impressed seeing that some 2 days old video for around 7k views with advertising this joke. Pretty sure they were banned soon, but how many people used this video for finding a new toy to exploit?

Even twitch became more lazy in terms of moderation of such players. Or they simply don’t have time to react…

I think this information is true. If you search for 'dbd cheaters' this week on YT you find a bunch of those losers ruining other peoples games and advertising hacking tools.

  • Cheaters are currently running rampant again. I just had a game where two people with almost identical names were acting suspiciously. They were strangely fast, regularly disappeared without a trace, and after I killed them both, the game suddenly crashed.

I just can't understand how a game like DBD, which is run by people who only have to worry about a single game and have over 1,000 employees, is still unable to keep cheaters in check. The worst part is that I can't even say for sure whether someone is cheating or not. There are so many different perks that I don't even know them all, the game is full of bugs, and cheating is rarely obvious. Being constantly suspicious is not a good vibe for a game.

  • Yep that settles it. Interaction behaviour affects also snowballs…

I mean i already get used to it, but quick throws are impossible for me now and hitting other players is much harder. Also the throwning curve doesn't really show me correctly where I hit. I tried a few long throws on a stationary target and still missed…

I guess no snowballs for me this year…

Do you have the controls option INTERACTION BEHAVIOUR on HOLD or TOGGLE?

For me 2v8 is best game mode from all it brings the chaos part and its not that sweaty or super busted (unless duo on coms plays legion with oni and they treat it like comp match which is pain to deal with).
Worst event for me was the bloodmoon with blood gens it was so easy as survivor, all you had to do was just one normal gen and than 4 blood gens that could be done with 3 full blood cans, killers perks even powers didnt worked with blood gens so bye bye pig and teaming on blood gens didnt have any penalty for progress plus blood pumps could dpawn super close to blood gens which could be done in 20-30 seconds (depends how close the blood pump was and how many survivors did it) not to mention blood pumps messed the hooks spawn locations so me hooks couldnt be used like the ones on rpd top floor because you couldnt hook there the hook was so close to wall or there was less hooks or they were further from each other.

You're right!!! That one was really really bad!!!

Luckily, I've completely forgotten about that event because it traumatized me.

At least the trauma therapy worked!

  • Thank God there's no chat on the console. If I'm already at a disadvantage in other ways, at least I don't have to read all the stupid comments from frustrated people after a match.

  • I don't like 2v8 either, but it's better than Haunted by Daylight because everyone is still on the same map and everyone has the same goal. I have nothing against the idea of having two maps in one match, but then the transition has to make sense, for example by moving some generators into the Void.

  • True! This event is terrible!

But I guess it will return, because it's easier for the devs to recycle old stuff than creating something new. Also, they have no idea why people play their game (as can be seen by the upcomming killer bonuses for the socalled unique hooks).

It bothers me that no one is participating in the event stuff even when they use the event offerings. In the end they get nothing out of it (so why not bring other offerings or just play the normal mode?). I just had a game with 1 hook 1 kicked gen, 3 destroyed pallets (bad). Also I kicked almost every pumpkin on the map, opend 3 voids, filled the well 2 times and in the end got more BP than the survivors, because nobody from their team cared about anything then gens. What does that mean? This event is so detached from the actual gameplay that if you participate in it and play it as its intended you will eventually lose the game… Sad!

I did wonder if it affected controller as well, it should be simple to reset/put the code back in as before especially as a percentage of players who play inverted have had this killer kill switched. Thanks for comment @MvHoeller

Not that simple if you have a spaghetti code and you don't know how to find that specific line. Right devs? 😅

    You're welcome!👍️

  • It's still in the game. Playing with Victor is really confusing right now and it even makes me dizzy when the camera moves in a different direction as my mind expects it. This should be fixed asap because it can cause motion sickness and nausea.

I'm on PS4, so it's not just a PC thing.

  • Not at all. The only weird movement from the player was the weird "flying over" when he walked through the palet tile.

If I remember correctly it happened with those pallets where another pallet was nearby.

  • @RafaDark and I reported this issue already in August!!!

Very busy developers who have not yet been able to fix such a game-breaking bug.

  • A quick reminder for the devs, with the recent Walking Dead streaming scandal in mind. For years, players have repeatedly reported that this game has no protection against cheaters and hackers.

  • Will we be able to rename cosmetics presets and display it on the endgame screen? I've always wanted to rename my Ghostface with the Wassup mask so that everyone knows that he was beaten by “Doofy.”

lol I will agree about the nature of people celebrating their wins, whether or not it applies to moris :)

I didn't mean to turn it into a debate either, but I definitely appreciate the discussion :D

    You're welcome!

I didn't really want to debate victory dances either, but I do want to defend BHVR making a bold push towards gameplay atmosphere, as I've often had the impression lately that they're trying to bring the game to a boring baseline instead of giving it highs and lows (and I don't mean releasing buggy chapters or nerfs of characters, perks or addons into oblivion). That may be the goal for competitive players who don't like surprises and where every match and every hunt should be as similar as possible, but for casual players it's terrible.

I'm glad you play in a way that avoids a lot of bm. The game needs more positive players :)

The issue isn't about redirecting some feeling of being offended when losing though. It's about how things are done that lead to a win or loss and how it's treated afterward. Victory dances are generally bad sportsmanship in all competitive activities, especially when they're shoved in an opponent's face.

As I said before, the Mori is not a Victory Dance for me, but a pure kill animation that ends the game for one player which gives me the feeling of being in a Slasher Movie (the hook sequence is exactly the same, only much more boring). If the whole thing were interactive, where I could do different things in the kill animation with an input, I might be able to accept the argument.
Besides, I'm pretty sure that in professional sport there is also some dancing when you win. I think football is a good example because there's a lot of toxicity there too. And I'm willing to bet that even if nobody cheered or danced anymore, there would still be some people who would get into a fight.

In the end, it's nothing more than an excuse for their own inferiority complex and the resulting victimization. Quite simply because the idea of one's own infallible existence does not match reality and therefore causes stress. If there are no more Moris and no more crouching (for teabagging), then it will simply be the gestures of the Surviors or a spinning killer that convey the feeling that they are in fact the victim of a DBD bully conspiracy. I'm not trying to say that there are no bullies here. They do exist and for the same reason. Particularly on the internet or when online gaming, you also have the protection of anonymity, which makes it even easier to boost your little ego at the expense of others.

And not to digress too long and get to the point: “You are an a**h*** or you are not. It's not triggered by others. If you are one, you'll always find a reason to justify being an a**h***.”

  • I now had three matches with the Trapper, three matches with Wraith and three with Hillbilly. There was no 4k slugging, no dancing moves and no other kind of toxic gameplay but I made a few Moris. I even played against streamers. I even had the chance to make a Mori and I didn't just because I didn t want to. I don't care about 4k and I play the game just for fun. Match started at 01:57:00

    https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2331727622

And I m sure noone was offended in any way by me and I wasn't offended by anyone of them. Just plain simple.

But maybe some people feel just offended when they lose a game and try to blame it on another reason.

It's not really about people being sore losers, and more about people not wanting a mechanic that provides a built-in victory dance. Teabagging and that W+D thing are already bad enough for the game's health, but the finisher mori is like BHVR saying the W+D thing isn't enough and they want to make the community more toxic by making those celebration dances official. And unlike in the case of teabagging, the targeted player can't just force the killer out or walk away. Instead they're forced to watch the killer do their victory dance.

Beyond that, the finisher mori has taken away survivors' ability to wiggle off for dramatic endgame escapes, which are some of the most memorable. It also provides an incentive to slug for 4k, which is one of the most problematic things in the game since it's done somewhat commonly and causes a long, drawn-out hunt that goes on while the last survivor has almost no chance of escape and the third survivor is forced to just lay on the ground bleeding out the entire time. It wastes the time of multiple players. Hatch was literally implemented to prevent something that the finisher mori now incentivises.

I've also seen a number of killers find themselves with two downed survivors not far from each other, so they hooked one of them and then repeatedly hit the survivor on hook to try to get them to go next and let the mori happen.

And it's not like the finisher mori adds to the horror in the game either. A depiction of a murder can be gory and grotesque, but that's not going to bring back the horror and anticipation that a lot of us felt during chase when we had just started. I think it took me around 300 hours for my heart to stop pounding during chase. It's really just an animation that some people enjoy watching, but isn't going to bring back that initial feeling of horror. And if that's the case, why not just go watch it in the killer selection menu?

Really, the finisher mori gives an animation that some people find fun at the cost of promoting toxicity by creating an official equivalent to teabagging at gate, giving the killer a basekit ability to deny abilities from survivor abilities and perks, and encouraging slugging for 4k and certain other toxic behaviors. I play both roles and I see the finisher mori as an overall negative addition to the game. As killer I find it pointless, and as survivor, I see it as toxic for the reasons listed above :(

I think we're playing two completely different games. I can't even make a connection to anything you say here. Or maybe I'm just in a completely different MMR. I just had a game as a trapper against a 4 man SWF (all of them over lvl 50 and one even 100) and there wasn't a bit of toxicity in it. 2 of them died on the hook, the other two I had the last generator repaired. When the gate was open I knocked down my obsession with Rancor and she stayed in front of the open exit, while the other surv noded the whole time. I moried her the other one nodded again, made a few crouches and escaped. Nobody, but really nobody was offended here. Neither the Survs about my Mori, nor me because one of them crouched twice or more times. Or because of a snowball in the face. Everyone had between 30 and 50k BP in the end.

And what there is to this so-called “endgame ability to wiggle off for dramatic endgame escapes” that you keep mentioning is beyond me. I've never had a case where it was fun if you don't reach the final hook in time. This only happens when the map is extremely large, the RNG handicaps you, you are constantly bodyblocked by the others or every hook is sabotaged. In any of these cases, you're more likely to feel screwed of your success and I doubt that would be fun for any killer and adds more to toxicity then a Mori or a Crouch move.

Maybe everyone who is so easily offended should start a petition for BHVR to release a LEGO version of DBD. Then instead of playing against Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger and Pinhead, who could probably kill you, you play against Gargamel, Lord Farquaad, Prince Hans and Dick Dastardly and then everyone has a cup of tea by the exit gates at the end.

I think this is exactly why BHVR made moris basekit. Whether they are going to sell them or not- it is nice seeing them more often. It's a shame all the sore loser survivor players are trying to get them removed from basekit because they don't like that killers can do they little dancey dance when they win now.

I don't understand this attitude either. On the one hand, many people are upset that BHVR is nerfing everything and DBD is getting boring because it's the same thing over and over again, and on the other hand, people are demanding that things that form a certain unique selling proposition be removed instead of expanded. Nobody can really argue with me that there's any horror feeling at all when killers can't even kill anymore.

In my eyes, the Mori is not even really a victory dance of the killer, but the normal conclusion to a horror movie. And even when I play Survivor, I'd rather see them than just that hook animation.

My only problem with the Moris is that at some point you've seen them too often and that's where something should be done. For example, that you can equip killers with new Moris. Since this is completely optional, I don't see any reason to get upset about it. Nobody is forced to buy Moris. But anyone who wants to and likes this feature will have the chance to do so.

  • @Zuiphrode said:

I'm not buying an animation I rarely get to see.

Well... Then you should stop playing Survivor and start playing Killer.

I see Moris pretty much every second match and sometimes even two in one.

  • I'm not quite sure why this thread is turning into another discussion about gameplay issues that the developers have been putting off for years, for whatever reason. All I really wanted was to finally have a way to customize Moris for the killers.

So back to topic: As a short example. Trapper already has a second Mori, but it's tied to this Naughty Bear costume. But I don't want to play Naughty Bear, I want to play my Trapper, who looks like a butcher. Nevertheless, I like the Mori from Naughty Bear. So why can't I just buy the Mori from Naughty Bear without the rest of the costume and then combine it with my Trapper [only without the narrator's voice in the background (Wesker also has two voice versions of his Mori when he plays against Chris)]?

I'd pay them a fortune to finally have a Freddy yelling at Nick Cage “Welcome to Prime Time #########” and ramming his head into a TV. 🤣

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnWHGm_a1_w

@smurf Sure I see no problem why you have to watch it when you don t want. They just have to implement an option 'Skip Mori sequence' X and you'll get instantly into into the endgame lobby.

lol Thanks for the nice response. Genuinely appreciated 😀

I always drew the distinction between toxicity and friendly teabagging at a few crouches. If it's a few quick ones before an exit, the meaning is normally clear.

As far as the mori, I'm always up for a good bit of gore in my horror media when it makes the horror experience more immersive, but moris never seemed to have a purpose in DbD. I wasn't a fan of the finisher mori when it was released, but started getting used to it. But then it became a common theme to see slugging for 4k followed up by mori; tunneling, proxy camping followed by mori. It's started to feel more like a way to cap off matches where survivors are forced to endure several minutes or entire matches where they're tunneled, camped, slugged for 4k, just to have the killer be able to force them to watch them do their animation.

I also wish it didn't take away the ability of the last survivor to wiggle free and go for rare dramatic escapes to hatch or an already open gate. I mean, when it was an addon, it made some sense to me that some abilities could be denied in that way. But I think there should have been some way to preserve those rare wiggle escapes; they make for some of the most memorable endgames on both sides :)

But this is a problem with slugging, tunneling and proxy camping. Not with Moris. The game offers enough opportunities to wiggle free and make dramatic escapes throughout the game. At some point this should come to an end that the killer doesn't become a laughing stock. And like in any good horror movie, the protagonist escapes a few times until it finally ends in a bloody climax.

So for me it's the other way around, even though I'm playing Survivor. I'd prefer it if the killer could mori everyone after the second hook and there were four different moris, because I'd rather see a mori animation before I end up on that stupid hook. Thats why I would like to see a way to get different moris for the killers.

  • @smurf said:

Also, I support reverting the finisher mori update. Don't make built-in ways to show off on top of your opponents even more common. If we think teabagging is an issue, this is like company-sponsored teabagging.

It would also be great to give back the ability to wiggle out at endgame for dramatic escapes instead of just expecting a slug for 4k->mori loop in so many games now.

Do I understand that correctly? You feel personally offended in your honor when the killer in a horror game takes you out with a kill animation instead of just hanging you on a completely irrelevant hook?

    Well... Actually... Um... Okay... 😳

I respect your opinion and have a nice day.

Built in victory dance is nice especially after you've been dealing with this for years.

Just take the loss and watch the animations dork. It's what we've been doing

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/L74C247AHKHC/dbd-survivor.gif

To be honest, I would even encourage all Survior to stand around in the exit area for minutes so that I have enough time to destroy all the remaining pallets and walls to collect the BP.

Fair enough. I do notice a lot of killers my gf goes against are typically vanilla. It's still not the worst idea in the world to make alternative moris purchasable but BHVR has a little more to worry about before they try to push another way for them to farm credit cards. I'm sure a majority of the fan base would be upset they're selling moris and not fixing the game

I'd rather they release some new Mori packs for the Killers or new Gestures for Survivors than another buggy chapter that just makes the mess even bigger than it already is. Then maybe they'd have more time to take care of the smaller issues.

    Dec 12th - 19th 2x rift fragments
    Dec 19th - 26th 2x bloodpoints
    Dec 26th - jan 2nd 3x bloodpoints

That's weird! Now I can see it too! When I started the game for the first time and read all the messages, this was blank post with some kind of error code inside.

  • I think this is just a rumor to attract players who can't be persuaded with just a new set of blue sweaters. I'm looking for a reason to play this event myself and I haven't found any official information about it yet. Unfortunately!

  • Okay then it was my mistake. I thought with the new system u can only mori one survivor in total and if u use Rancor u can decide if its the obsession or the last survivor.

Event points have no cap and are separate from main gameplay points but are shown on the scoreboard at the end. Event points are things like bonuses for hooking on an event hook or completing a generator, picking up an invitation, using an invitation special ability, accepting a Party Totem (3.5k BP), and opening a Party Chest (5k BP).

That's what I expected, but in fact only the first surv player seems to get those points. Because in every single game I've played since yesterday, the scorebord shows the first surv player with massivly more points than the other four players, no matter if I play surv or killer.

I hope it's just a visual bug. Actually I didn't do the maths after my games, so I'm not sure if I get my bonus points or not.

Edit: I want to add that in my last game the first placed survivor hadn't such a big BP difference from his teammates, but he didn't use a cake offering either.

  • RPD bad? What about the baddest bad maps of the entire game that no one has mentioned yet: "BADham I-V"! These maps are so bad that my bad hand starts to shake the moment I read "BADham" after the loding screen. These bad maps are so bad they cause PTSD and even the developers are afraid of touching these bad maps, allthough they badly need a massive rework, that they prefer loads of bad comments over getting into just a single thought about how to make these bad maps at least half as bad. Try to play all 5 variations of "BADham" in a row and I guarantee you'll whish yourself back to RPD the moment your brain getting over that grief that "BADham" causes.

Not to derail the topic, but what goal would you prefer instead of gens?

I don't say that gens as a part of "the way to escape" are a problem, but sitting 90sec+ on them and doing skill checks is boring now. Someone else on this forum asked, if chests should become a bigger part in the game. Yeah, why not. For example rummaging some chest to find spare parts and after that you can repair a gen with them in 30sec. At least you have to travers the map a bit more and have to look around.

  • No! I think time should be doubled so no one will ever use this ######### perk anymore.

I'm tired of all those gen speed or gen regression perks, items or add-ons. Gens are the worst part of the whole game and an outdated mechanic. I want to be beaten as a killer by the survivors dodging or hiding or mindgaming skills not by a hidden time limit.

  • That's because survivor matches are just boring if you play solo, so they just goof around and let the killer hook them because doing gens is boring and gives you less reward then unhook and heal your team mate. A quick hook/unhhook+heal game rewards you more then just try to do gens or try to escape the killer.

  • Chests should be a bigger part of the game and maybe even a second objective. The item you take with you at the start of the game shouldn't be placed in your hand but in your personal chest at the opposite end of the your starting point and is highlighted to you (but not to the killer). This chest takes longer to open then a "normal" chest and gives a sound effect to the killer when opened and can only be opened by you. Opening the personal chest should reward the survivor with additional survival BPs. The rest of the "normal" chests should stay the same way as they are.

This gives the survivor something else to do as just hopping into the game and immediately start to repair the gen next to you with your best tool box. Also you have some tactical decicision if you want to pressure the killer by the start of the game and grab your item later (maybe when he is in chase with another survivor) or to go for the item first, spend some time, but use it effects as soon as possible.

This gives a killer who is unable to find any survivors also a glimps of hope to get into his first chase.

Survivor Matches right now are so bland and boring and always the same that I'm really happy if they could change the gameplay a bit to do something else. Maybe its okay if you play in a SWF and talk with your friends (or streamers) but as a solo player, who does nothing else then sitting on these gens and doing these boring skill checks over and over and over and over and over again, survivor becomes so uninteresting that I refuse to play as them even if I get 100% BP bonus.

  • I expected a scary mode for survs and a tactical one for killers. This is none.

The jumpscares are cheap because they mostly happen at the gens when u try to repair them and the AWAK (Aimlessly-Wandering-Around-Killer) stumbles on you. Chases are boring and way to short because most of the time you just loose your target and doing some mindgames mostly results into loosing your target. So what's left. Just follow the guy step by step until you reach him. That's the worst part of any chase... When you loose the surv continue patrolling the red dots until you stumble on the next survivor and get ur next free hit. I've never felt so out of controll as a killer, not even in a match against a well coordinated SWF...

As an AWAS (Aimlessly-Wandering-Around-Survivior) you do the same stuff as all the annoying teammates in SoloQ, you've complained about for years. Real tension is never built up because you know nothing and killers just appear and disappear on screen. At least it isn't as hard to find the gens as its for killers to find survivors. If you're lucky you manage to repair that gen, if not the killer gets a free hit... Nothing is actually satisfying and without built up tension there is no thrill.

This mode maybe favors killers but who cares if its complely boring. The matches are way too long compared to the time where something actually happens. And the worst part of them all, I don't know how, but even with a high BP-bonus, this cheapskate-mode refuses to give you a good amount of BPs.

I highly doubt that this mode has ever been testplayed by the devs and we gamers are just here to do it for them. It's a shame that a well established event like the Lunar Event was scrapped for this half-baked PTB, hidden as an event with the worst event tomen I've ever seen...

I've had this happen to me twice today. Tough games, playing as Onryo, but I manage to swing it back and start applying very strong pressure. And then all of a sudden the game just crashes and ends. That's a good 10-15 minutes of gameplay on each game, wasted. And what sucks is that it appears that survivors at least get to keep their BP when this happens, but the killer gets nothing. It's making me wonder if there is some hack that lets a player pull the plug on a match like that with no penalty. There was a player in one of those lobbies that had a very suspicious steam account (very low hours for their skill), and they ran no perks. Or it good just be actual server issues.

As far as I could see Survs also loose their BP, but they were still shown in the endgame screen for the other players. At least it was that way when I played survs. I'm not sure what about the items and add-ons, but I guess they are gone aswell and that really s***s when it's no ones fault that the game crashed.

  • Actually I'm already fed up of Devs favoritism for SWF. It's not just bad for Solo Survivors but for Killers too. For a couple of time i played SoloQ and the experience was extremely awful. So awful that I quit playing survivor (exception: do some daily rituals in combination with some tome challenges). But allthough focusing on killer I still encounter solo matches where I really feel bad about the guys who have to play survivor. Its no fun when you see them give up immediately when u get the upper hand at the very start of the game and all they keep doing is standing in front of you waiting for you to kill them, so they can finally leave the match. I know that some killers like to just stomp them and go to the next match but for me this was just a disappointing match without any good chases, thrills and good jumpscars (I like to play sneaky killers). Because I feel bad for them and don't want to waste too much time I always decide to kill 3, close the hatch and let the last one (who I think did the most in the match) escape through the gates. But still its not very entertaining and leaves a bitter aftertaste.

On the other hand you have those guys who seem to be not effected by anything I do. They play like bots. Know everything (I guess because of comms). Do everything in a short time. And their perk builds are way over the top. Sometimes I even scratch my head why they seemed so stressed even if I'm in a chilled mood.

I'm not a sweaty killer and "like to play with my food", but both of the experiences are horrible. On the one hand totally overstrained solo survivors, with no help from the games side, and on the other hand totally stressed hotshot-SWFs who play like they face some Top-10 Streamers and still seem to get all the luck from the game.

That's what happens when the game has bad matchmaking. If the game paired you with a killer on your level I don't think you'd feel that way.

Yeah! I've complained about this for a while now.

Game likes to pair high-tier-SWFs with easy killers and when u play solo you get constantly Blight-achemist-ring, 3-times-blinking nurses and all kind of mori killers with good addons and I m sure i've been stucked in low-surv-tier for quite a long time.

But I guess devs have no time to fix this stuff...

  • Yeah happend to me aswell. Blight dashed and it crashed...and then got stucked in a wall. Then it was over.

  • I tried SWF with some people few years ago. Most killers were easy to deal with, no thrill, no horror feeling, nothing... Just listening to casual stories about random stuff through comms, about washing some cloths, problems with girlfriend, job boredom, alcohol or drug consume habits at the weekend ...and btw the (stealth) killer is here with me, so you can do gens on the other side of the map...

Easy escape and laughing at/teabagging the killer at the exit gates, because we were so superior than he....well...um...

I quit swf very quickliy because thats not how I want to play a horror game....

  • Survival BP is just the worst of them all if you play Solo. So I never use Survival BP Offerings (just another waste).

I don t know why they reward (easy) escapes so highly and doing all you can to survive without escaping rewards you with nothing. My solution for this problem is, just give BP for how long you stay alive and when you are hooked. So lets say the first one who gets killed earns 500, the second 1000, the third 1500 and the fourth 2000. If you survive you get 4000. Plus the BP reward for the time you stayed in the game. So if you do gens in 5 minutes and escape you get less BP than struggling to do 5 gens in 15 minutes and escape, which seems fair to me because killers who kill survivors on the first hook also get less BP for less hooks and rewards solo survivors who really try to do something (also maybe prevents players to give up because they still can earn good BP for staying in the game). Maybe this will also improve M1 Killer games who struggle to catch up with highly efficent survivors because they also want longer matches to get more BP.

At this point not really; unless you're just trying to feed sweaty killer mains MMR/ego.

BHVR has decided that solo queue is fodder for killers through their own actions and deafening silence.

    Didn't they recently say:

"We're totally aware of the balancing and matchmaking problems with SoloQ. So we decided to killswitch flashlights..."

  • Something with BP is absolutly fishy.

It's not just the Matchmaking that screws SoloQ over and over again, but also the BP System. In my last game I did 4 gens (alone), 2 unhooks, healed 2 other survs, escaped the killer 4 times, stunned him once and was hooked only once as last survivor and got 5k BP less than a guy who did only hookfarming and 1 gen.

You can't just admit defeat and let the kilers run wild for 90% of the player base though. The game is mostly solo survivors and should be balanced with that in mind.

I think rewarding the killers with more blood points and pips for playing against SWFs is enough to make those games okay. I think most people wouldn't mind losing to a SWF if they were compensated for it and didn't de-rank for doing so. But leaving the game in the state that it is right now, where most survivors aren't escaping 3 out of 4 games, should embarrass BHVR.

I do not understand why they appear to be pretending there is no issue. Most survivors are moving over to TCM, and I don't blame them.

    True! 👍️

Just telling people to stop playing solo and switch to SWF is an embarrassment for BHVR and definitely the worst solution they can have.

I wouldn t say no for getting more BP but I guess there are some killers out there who have already enough BP and just looking for balanced games. Stop de-ranking is good idea, because sometimes it feels very ridicules how the Ranking System works.

But the same could be done for SoloQ. If you play solo you get more BP, so losing some games, because of bad Matchmaking doesn t feel so unrewarding anymore.

  • @Biscuits said:

Not really. For whatever reason the developers have decided to balance the game around SWFs. Probably because the people most active and loudest on the forums are the killer mains. I come on here to give feedback and statistics from the solo survivor side and they instantly come in to tell me I am wrong. Even though you can always tell they never play survivor so they have zero experience with the other side to dismiss what I say.

So yeah the game is balanced around the idea that just about any killer will get a 2k against a very strong 4 man group. So you as a solo survivor team have very little chance to win against a killer who is trying. That's the kicker, some killers don't try, but most do. That's why people DC games, they are looking for the killers who aren't sweating.

What is considered trying? Running meta builds namely regression right now. Some aura builds are very strong on certain killers. Spirit fury enduring builds are also very hard to do anything against. Those are basically the 3 killer metas that exist right now. You either double/triple the game length with regression. Constantly be in chase with aura builds, or decimate people in chase with spirit fury. A rare build that is equally devastating is killers who proxy camp with STBFL. I don't consider it meta because I only get it every once in awhile.

If they aren't running a variation of those 3, they don't care about winning. Congrats you might actually escape a game today.

Well we have some trololololo-guys here too, because they need a place to drop their one-liners, because outside of the www no one listens to them. But I can only encourage you to stay to your opinion and keep reporting things that feel wrong. Balancing the game around SWF will not work, because there are many kinds of SWFs out there and I played against many. With that huge amount of perks in that game and proper communication its impossible for many killers to get even 1k. I saw a game with Otz as a clown where he got zero chances against that team, because they had so many endurence and second chance perks in their builds thats u needed 5 hits to get one of them down. On the other hand there r SWFs who don t play much better than SoloQ-Players. The only way to "balance" that issues is a good Matchmaking-System where hard-bitten survivors play against their killer counterparts. This would maybe fix SoloQ problems too. But its just a joke that you only lvl up in MMR when u escape the match, allthough u do most of the work by yourself. There should also be two seperated MMR for Solo and SWF like every killer has his own MMR. I ve seen many high ranked players who achieve absolutely nothing in a Solo game. And then you have lobby dodgers who dodge a lobbies to find easy looking teams and voila then u get a high rank killer game against baby survivors.

Also many games are decided by Maps and RNG. So how u wanna balance a match anyways when the result is predestinated by luck?

  • @Nazzzak said:

Solo queue is the kill-rate fodder. We are supposed to lose a lot. I suspect that's why matchmaking is so bad, I think that's intentional.

    Sounds reasonable! 👍️

I guess thats how they get their stats right! 100% Escape-Rate with SWF and 100% Kill-Rate with SoloQ means 50:50 so the game is balanced!

@Dogma_loki Maybe they have no time to fix trivial stuff like that, when they need time for important things like fix or create new cosmetics or rework unbalanced maps to become even more unbalanced. Since the undoing of the fast vaults, I've encountered many hits meters behind windows I vaulted. I don t know how this is bugged, but sometimes my characters refuses to do fast vaults, allthough running in a straight line to the window or even when clearly doing a fast vault he can still hit me far behind the window. That happend before the patch too and I think I already opened a thread about this topic. Well I guess spaghetti code only gives u a choice between the devil and the deep blue sea.

  • @BlightedTrapper said:

I'm feeling more miserable in solo queue now than I've felt in a long time. There's just so much more that can go wrong for a survivor than the killer. Might have to face Nurse or Xeno so you have zero way to avoid going down, killer might camp or tunnel, teammates might ignore gens, people will kill themselves on hook. It feels rare at this point to have an enjoyable game as survivor...

Hm I m not so sure if the killer state is so much better. Killer is more enjoyable for me but I got constantly screwed over by maps and the worst RNG I've ever seen in a game. I had a game right now as pig with hooks so terrible placed that I had two huge deadzones in it (allthough no oak offering was used). Other game with 2 oak offerings and no problems with hooks...Pretty good job... But yeah survivor games were still bad today and I have now the feeling if you downgrade enough in low MMR tier you get placed in the highest MMR tier... maybe its a circle. 🤦‍♂️

It would be nice to have the time to repair 3-4 gens but teammates really won t let me. Sometimes they Bond+Bring the killer to me, or like to join into repairing a nearly finished gen to mess up 2 skill checks in a row or just want to play the hook farming game (high lvl survs aswell).

The most important improvments would be maps, matchmaking and RNG. Nerfing Perks to the ground and looking at stupid statistics is definitely the wrong way to do... but it seems its BHVRs way...

Was there ever a reason to play Solo Q besides the extra challenge or the complete lack of will to find gaming buddies?

Actually I like Solo much more than SWF. I tried SWF with two groups but was so bored, that I havn't touched Survivor Games for years and only played Killer (except for some trophy challenges). After the 6.1.0 update I've given survivor another try because since then it made sense to level them up to get all perks and maybe try some new builds. So I m now in the middle of leveling up all my survivors and started to enjoy survivor games again. But as I said in my first post with the start of the new DLC I get constantly bad games (and I mean really bad and unballanced games). Before it was around 50% which I was OK with. I'm definitly in the lowest tier and get constantly matched together with other low tier survivors (allthough a lot of them have a really high surv lvl, but play like new players) against (so it seems) high tier killers with iri addons, mori and strong builds. And its very depressing being first place Survivor with around 8.000 points who dies on the first hook because no one is doing anything except the killer.

I have no problems to play with noob teammates or players who don't take this game serious, but then I want to play against a noob killer too or against some meme builds. So for me thats a big Matchmaking issue and not a player issue. And it seems to me that Matchmaking gotten so much worse since the last DLC.

  • @Marc_go_solo said:

If you had died 20 games in a row, that Wesker match you had last would probably be fine with MMR, based on how it's based on wins vs losses (which is an issue in itself), but it would make sense after so many losses that you'll eventually face an equally unsuccessful killer.

It does sound like your 20 match claim is inflated, since you "gave up" so easily after match 10. Maybe you could have survived some of those other ones, but it would be nice to clarify what you mean by "gave up", because if that meant you just got killed quickly on purpose then that's quite weak, but if you mean you just became more laid back and tried, but didn't really have your heart in it then, well, others play relaxed too so that would be fine.

The best thing in those periods (I've experienced loss streaks too), focus on your game and make your own aims each trial. Try an complete tomes or make your own up. However, I found it best to just stop playing if a streak starts to frustrate me. Play another game and come back fresh.

It was fine for my loss streak but not fine for the killer because the whole team was way too strong for him (so the MMR failed). In the end it was even a bad game for me because allthough I escaped there was no tension between the two teams. Killers should be able to pressure survivors and survivors she be able to pressure the killer. A match thats only one-sided is boring.

Giving up doesn t mean that i quit, but I didn't do much either. Maybe sitting on a gen until the killer came back and then put the controller aside and do something else instead of wiggle or doing skill checks on second hook.

My way to deal with bad surv-solo games is to play kiler.😆

  • @Mr_K said:

So you lost 10 games in a row and instead of stop playing ruined 10 matches for other survivors.

No! I just raised Killers-Kill-Rate because nowadays Devs only care about stats and if the Killers-Kill-Rate is to high they maybe do something about it. So I did it just For the People and risked my own life and injury for others ☝️🤓

    _________

    Balanced around tournament-SWF? 😳

As a killer you have ZERO chance against these guys. I'm already struggling against "normal"-swfs who repair all gens in 5 minutes (and I m not even sure if they are all swf because of my last game, where we did the same in a solo match). I have no clue on what matches this game is balanced around, because as Killer I get constantly 4k/3k+hatch or 0k matches. Nothing in-between.

But maybe thats also an matchmaking/rng issue.
