Why is a killer always referred to as boring, when people don´t like his power?
Personally i find his power interesting, since it gives the killer a choice if he wants to continue a chase or go for the box.

You won't get banned for a first time offense, just a warning.
But you could edit the post and request a mod deletes it to save yourself said warning.
First time offense can be escalated.
Requesting that a mod deletes something can also result in an escalation.

Probably the one which can heal a survivor before cooldown ends, and it actually got fixed so it was a exploit for sure though.
Oh, you mean when CoH stacked on the PTB. Well that didn´t make it to live.

What about winning?
The more you try to win, the more you´ll sweat. The more you sweat, the more you´ll burn out.
So sometimes its best to take it easy.

(Boil Over/CoH) Survivors finally don't play BT, DH, Adrenaline, UB meta aaaaaand people call it an exploit.
Just because something is off meta doesn't make it balanced or healthy game design.
Who called CoH an exploit? O_o

I was thinking of bringing No Way Out/Bloodwarden/NOED and mostly ignoring gens. Will this be fun? I don't know what the point of this game is anymore.
You can try to set your own goals. Like getting 4 stacks of bbq and letting everyone go. Or trying to reach tier 3 bloodlust repeatedly. Or equiping Franklyns and Hoarder.

Entity feeds on hope, the survivor shouldn't feel hopeless - otherwise why would they bother playing the game?
And regardless of popular opinions, Killers do not get nerfed due to complaints - changes are made in line with game balancing.
Thats an interesting point. Does it also apply the other way around? Killers that feel hopeless in regard of gen speed.
-
I assume that you have something similar in mind, when the killer barely gets hooks.
The increase of Camping and tunneling are directly caused by the current gen speed. While sure, nothing has changed in the gen speed per se, its undeniable that on high mmr, the killer gets between 3 and 4 hooks by the time all gens are completed. A killer who feels confident about the gen speed and being able to 12 hook, doesn´t feel the urge or need to camp and tunnel.
Meanwhile, a killer who loses 3 gens in the first chase, isn´t motivated to play "nice".

Yes, only with Chain hunt chains. This add on spawns another chain only after you break one so its still max 3 at a time with it
Ok

@ShinobuSK said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2796271#Comment_2796271
Yes and no. You have to break the chain first but the chain that spawns is basically 4th chain at that point
But it never exceedes the 3 normal chains, right?
-
@ShinobuSK said:
The additional chains you talk about can be either when box is active (chain hunt) or if the killer is using add on for more chains.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/4FPK57M8POFK/img-20220202-184127948.jpg
I wasn´t sure about this addon. Wouldn´t it just replace the broken chain?
-
Survivors complaining about boons is a new one.
-
You have to try to solve the box before the chain hunt starts. Once it starts, try to get into a position where you can break the chains (obstacles, another teammate). There is a time window of 2-3 seconds after you got hit by a chain. In which you can break the chain and avoid getting hit by a new one.
His power spawns 3 chains, but when a chain hunt is active, you can also get hit by the normal chain hunt chains.
-
Killers finally don´t play gen slowdown meta aaaaaand people call it an exploit.
But tbh, this build is hilarious!
Have to try this myself.
-
Don´t worry. If you have like 50 matches with this specific killer and get non stop roflstomped, your mmr will finally reach the desired level. Unless you switch between killers in an attempt to improve, because you think its you...
New players are doomed.

If the survivors key is in that box they really can't do anything, nobody to save because the pig is idle, nobody to heal because nobody is injured, they literally just have to die because the one thing they can actually do to save themselves and escape a match that'll land them less then 5K points is take that box off, but sure, they can do gens for a little bit sure but ultimately they can't do anything to help themselves escape.
And I really don't care for what you recommend because whatever you recommend you'd still defend this playstyle and would dismiss other peoples issues with it because "you haven't vs'ed it yet".
I didn´t defend anything. You see, I actually said that both Boil Over and this should be considered exploits (or none). That it isn´t a playstyle i like, that it sounds like a boring playstyle that one way or another won´t last and i offered an alternative with a different build.
-
DbD. The game where the stereotypes are reversed. Killers being actually the good guys.
I think in 2800 hours i´ve received 2 messages from killers. So yeah, its really rare that a killer leaves a toxic message.

"Idling" is also there in the rules for this very reason.
One of the moderators stated the other day that blocking a survivor in the corner, even if gens are being done is bannable, in my opinion this is very similar to blocking someone in the corner, if they do any gens their trap is activated, they then MUST remove this trap or they will die, if their key is in that box they can't do a single thing, there is no counter, it's ridiculous people are defending this as if it's "normal gameplay".
But it's not the same. Blocking a survivor in a corner would be taking the game hostage. Since the survivor can't do anything.
Sitting in front of the box isn't taking the game hostage, because the survivors can still do everything.
As per definition, it's not the same.
Btw, I recommend every pig player to use Tempered Timer + Box of crates. Because that's way more fun than sitting afk.

How are you comparing camping to afk and idling, camping means you've literally caught someone and ate standing next to them, the fact that you guys are so adamant that standing still for the entire game is 'normal gameplay' is hilarious, yea dude, stick some add-ons on, stand Infront of the box and do nothing.
There is a pretty easy to tell difference between camping someone on hook and standing still doing nothing it's actually embarrassing that I have to explain this
"Where do we draw the line between a killer chasing someone, hooking them and camping them to death, and someone loading into a match, moving Infront of a box and doing absolutely nothing" 😂
So I take that you've never seen a afk pig in person.
Yeah, thx for the discussion.

With the current meta of gap closer killers i guess it's seen as necessity. Still makes me laugh though the fails i see with it, had a good one on Crotus pen, dead hard up the ramp but still have to vault the window and ate a hatchet.
Huntress mains love BBQ, most even use Bitter and nurses as well.
All about that info for snipes.
But the aura reading alone wouldn't justify taking it as a perk. On it's own it's simply to weak.

Nah, I probably wouldn't use BBQ if it didn't have the BP boost. I feel like its popularity would shrink at least 50% of it didn't have it.
With that being said the most popular killer perk appears in 57.5% of matches whereas the most popular survivor perk appeared in 86% of matches. That being Deadhard.
The usage of BBQ would drop to 0 if they'd remove the bloodpoint bonus.
Bitter Murmur is far superior than BBQ in regard of aura reading.
-
Top 5 contains 4 gen slowdown perks.
Top 10 contains 3 perks specifically to get a last kill before survivors escape.
If the devs don't see this as an issue, than I don't know what they'll see as one.

I've not seen any boilover matches, but thankfully I can admit it's still a problem.
I can also see that "unsportsmanlike" have "AFK" and "Idling" as reportable, I don't know about you, but loading into a match, moving in front of a box and doing nothing the rest of the match kinda sounds like afk, and if you're still at you're desk, it's idling.
So how many afk pigs have you personally faced?
Idling or being afk isn't allowed. But camping and insidious are desired gameplay features. So where do we draw the line of what is what?
The killer still kills with that. So he's participating in gameplay. Doesn't has to be a gameplay you and I like. But it still is valid gameplay.
Getting a bit off topic with this example, but a couple of days ago, someone showed a clip on Twitter about reaching a usually unreachable spot with DH. People called it skilled gameplay. I called it exploit. People started to insult me instantly.
The point is, that things are not weighted equally. Some people are completely fine with ignoring obvious exploits as long as it benefits them, but get mad when they're are affected by something the other side does.
Things get easily blown out of proportion. Especially here on the forum. Instead of trying to understand what the other person is trying to say, he just gets called biased or biased xxx main.
What's happening now probably won't last. Since people usually figure out some kind of counter (slugging in the case of Boil over), when more people start doing it.
Staying afk sounds terribly boring. So people might give it a couple of tries and move back to their normal gameplay. But we'll see how and if the devs react.

1. How do you know youre facing Pig if you dont spawn near a Jigsaw box?
2. How do you know youre having an AFK Pig but not Trapper busying with his traps?
3. Even the most skilled Aayrun would not able to tell if someone else is going for unhook another teammate, especially indoor map. Because there is no INFO in solo.
4. No Info =/= unskilled or low IQ.
The UI should tell you if someone wears a trap.
So the rest of your argument is kinda...

I'd never heard of this afk pig thing until I went against it last week, I wasn't the one that was blocked but I can see how it's an issue, jjust the same as I can see boil over as an issue.
What bias do I have, exactly? I see two faults on both killer and survivor and I didn't dismiss one because I saw two people say something isn't common, when there is entire threads of people saying they're going against it often.
With the difference, that I see people using Boil over almost every match. But I've never seen afk pigs.
You know very well how things get blown out of proportion on the forum.
I remember very well how many people defended Boil over as intended gameplay, and now those very same people claim that afk pigs is an exploit.
As I said on a different thread. Either both Boil over and afk pigs are considered an exploit or none is.

It's always been possible to do this, just some twat on twitch made it famous, and now with the "Saw" chapter (even though there is no free Saw cosmetics)
A few people are doing it, It requires the stars to align for a killer to pull this off. So now a low tier killer with low tier addons will have a "fix" because of twitch.
@Zozzy said:

It isn't common. People are just trying to make up scenarios to force a change. I did the pig thing for a while yesterday and only ever got one kill. I did better guarding one or two boxes and attacking people that came to it.
Thank you for confirming this. Since I never faced a pig doing this I really wondered if I'm extremely lucky or if this is just a forum thing.
-
The system favors short queues over an accurate skill rating. Since survivors have long queues, the system matches the first killer to click ready, while ignoring everything else.
-
First of all, I haven't faced any afk pigs (yet). So I can't really say if this is a common issue or just the forum being the forum.
Now on regard of a solution, as it was already pointed out. There's a way to play around it. Which shouldn't be hard, considering that the killer is afk.
Is that fun? Probably not. But it's the same issue killers are still facing with Boil Over. However, Boil Over is considered intended gameplay by survivors. While this is considered an exploit by survivors.
I don't want to be that guy, BUT they are either both exploits or both intended gameplay. There's no in between.

New ruin gets more value if the killer keeps up pressure. It’s better on high mobility killers by a long shot. As for low mobility you could say either depending on map size.
Old ruin did destroy new survivors though
Keeping up pressure is just another wording for tunneling someone out early. Killer can only chase 1 survivor at a time. Breaking the chase to go for a different gen means that the chased survivor goes back to the gen.
Unless it's a new survivor, who spends most of his time hiding and self caring in the corner of the map.
Btw. Everything destroys new players. Not just old ruin.

Apparently, people thought it to be better than pop and corrupt. So that is saying something maybe.
Because slowdown perks are so much weaker than the "counterparts" survivors have.
-
@Phasmamain said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2792954#Comment_2792954
That was back when there was like 3 regression options. Pop was decent but an active perk you had to think about, and corrupt which was new so many didn’t want to use it.
New ruin has a stronger effect but is harder to keep active for long periods of time
Nah, new ruin isn´t stronger than the old one. New ruin only works in the absence of survivors. Old ruin slowed the gen progress down while survivors worked on it. Even good survivors could miss a great skill check and convert it into a normal one.

They all say that but somehow 80% of the killers ran it anyway. That says much more about its utility than anyone feelings about it.
It was more that killers grasped at every straw in an attempt to slowdown gens.

I'm not going to lie it feels like I've seen an increase in jerks lately. I'll get them every other match or ever 3. I use to get maybe 1/10. I mean like actually just trying to make the killer mad click click for no reason and constantly tbagging you know going out of there way type of stuff.
The Boil Over buff brought out the worst in some people.
-
Current gen speed doesn't allow for a slow paced game where everyone has fun.
Years ago, survivors complained for dying with 20k bloodpoints. Now survivors escape with 11k bloodpoints and feel good about it.
Gen rushing benefits no one. The only way to slow down gens is to turn it into a 3vs1. Even Otz said that tunneling someone out early is his bread and butter.
-
Had a SWF that used RPD offering + 2 hook offerings, 2 toolboxes and 2 Flashlights. (Before the library patch)
