Hit validation favors the person with the smaller ping.
-
Just ignore it? I mean, it´s not like the regression is particuarly strong and it doesn´t slowdown the gen progress, when survivors hold m1.
-
Just do gens & totems. You should at least get a black pip.
Because you get 2 iridiscent emblems.

I'm sorry OP, but Freddy definitely needed a skill cap. The fact that BHVR let new Freddy into the game and waited over a year to really nerf him is kinda insulting to survivors. Freddy is the only killer in the game that has everything in his kit (Anti-Loop/Anti-Gen, etc...) with absolutely no consequences to bad play and no real counter.
I cannot wait for that nerf.
In other words, he plays like a survivor.
Yeah, we can't have that. Can we?

I keep thinking it would be cool if a killer power had to use a completed gen to recharge, and Dr seems a LITTLE OP at the moment, so what if instead of static blast automatically recharging over time, Dr had to interact with a completed gen to recharge it? The gen would still stay completed, and he could use a gen any number of times, and it would recharge faster at the gen than it currently does (but require the Dr to go to a completed gen and interact with it to recharge it instead of always recharging passively).
This would also fix those stalemates when the last 3 gens are all clustered together and Dr can just patrol them until static blast is charged, and then set it off and hit all the remaining survivors, and repeat that until they have all the crazies.
What do YOU think?
Well, you could roleplay him, I guess.
Before every static blast you go to a repaired gen.
-
Just play survivor. It's far more relaxing, forgiving and overall more enjoyable.
You'll get used to long queues.

Don”t know why so many killers need to feel powerful in a video game
Indeed. Why should the 1vs4 role feel powerful. Makes no sense at all...

Yes, this even happens on red ranks and i´m doubting their ability to learn from errors 🤣

You guys played extremely poorly to let that happen.
It's like saying Trapper is strong because 4 people got stuck in traps within 5 seconds of each other.
It´s actually hilarious, when the same survivor steps 2 or 3 times into the same trap.

I think it's a slippery slope to compare killers and survivors: it's an asymmetrical game after all. It's easier if we look at mechanics and what they bring to the table in terms of gameplay/balance. We're not talking about killer perks, but about hex totems (Hex: Undying) and notifications.
Even more reason to give the supposed power role more information and not the supposed weaker role.

The maps are small enough to where spawning anywhere doesn’t really matter. You can’t use the phrase “other end of the map” when someone’s got the killer in their face right as soon as they spawn in. It’s ridiculous how small these maps are.
It's ridiculous how quickly gens can be done.
I play solo and 2 completed gens by the first down, is not an exception, but normal.

Yeah, this could be.
-
I'm on your side.
The killer doesn't has enough time to slowdown gens.
Chases usually take longer than 42 seconds.
-
Here a quick summary of the past months:
- Old killers switched to the more relaxing survivor role or simply left to play something else.
- Matchmaking tries it's best to get red rank survivors a quick match, but ends up matching them against new killers.
- new killers get rofl stomped and decide it's not worth the effort.

Alright and? It STILL happens.
? Quote the wrong person?
-
Not enough killers. *shrugs*
-
2 survivors doing the same gen take 42 seconds to finish it with proof Thyself. Survivors usually spawn on a gen, while the killer spawns at the other end of the map.
Killer can only chase 1 survivor. Even with insta down, unless survivors afk hide in the corner of a map, 2 gens will be completed before the first hook.

Again, Nurse is a killer that is played often. She’s played more than many other killers, including both Spirit and Freddy. Your opinion on her state of balance has nothing to do with that objective fact.
If she is played more than other killers, her stats should be even more accurate. Meaning her 40% kill rate is true and therefore she requires a urgent buff.

@MadLordJack said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1825033#Comment_1825033
Yes. Yes she is. She is the killer I play to 4k with relative ease and no slowdown. Not my problem that the stats are massively skewed in all directions because of a crapload of factors that they don't take into account, such as skill floors and opponents, making them so inaccurate that the Devs themselves came out and said to not use them as fact or evidence.
So what is it then? Either the stats are solid and she needs a buff or the stats are rubbish. If the stats are rubbish, then why should they be used as basis to nerf the other killers?

Decisive strike has always been a bit of an exception; this rule primarily is just for killer perks however anyways.
New perks are also an exception, they preemptively do all sorts of weird nonsensical stuff with new perks.
Yes, so it seems. I really wonder why the devs are so hesitant to buff useless perks. I can understand why they don't want to release new OP perks. But why not buff core perks that don't require a dlc? We have plenty of them and it would benefit to break the survivor meta that hasn't changed in 3 years.
-
It's a shame that the matchmaking can be tricked like that, to match the team against a low rank killer.
A solution would be to base the killers rank on the highest survivor rank. Instead of the lowest.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Depends on how many people use it.
They don't really nerf OP perks they nerf ones people use too much. If something is good at what it does but it's the only thing that does it, people use it a lot, and it gets nerfed.
Nice theory. Only fails, when DS is omnipresent in every match.
So it can't be because of usage levels.

Not so much weak as unfun to play. She's still the strongest killer in the game but she has a really high skill ceiling. I rarely use her since her rework because of all the bugs introduced that the devs have no interest in fixing. Playing as nurse now feels like I am fighting the game's mechanics as much as I am fighting the survivors.
Everyone says she has a high skill ceiling and that's the reason why she has such a low kill rate.
BUT, she always was the hardest killer to learn. People spend easily 250+ hours to master her. She was THE killer that filtered out bad survivors on red ranks.
And now? All the people that spend so many hours on her suddenly lost interest in adapting to her changes?
Nah, she has a low kill rate, because she's just a shadow of her former self. Even without all the bugs that she suffers from.

The problem is that a lot of people dont care about the bloodpoints, they care about fair games. Thats why fewer people are willing to play killer.
Extra bloodpoints dont change that. making it mandatory to play both roles would help a lot, since all people would learn about both sides of the game, and i believe it would change a lot discussions about whats op and/or fair in the game, and where the balance should be.
The problem with mandatory is, that people would just afk until the match is over, just to go back to their main role.

Oh sure, killers have long queues during office hours. Now guess why.

@Zeb89 said:
Ok, this is getting ridiculous.
10 minute lobbies as survivor during the evening (18:00 - 2:00) vs 3 second Killer lobbies.
The issue is reversed during the morning and early afternoon. Killer takes 4-5 minutes to find a match.
Why aren't there bonuses for playing underplayed roles?
All normal games have this system in place so the game doesn't die. In MOBA games you get an exp boost at least. This is common sense, people. Just do it.
The game is in a horrible state because of this.
I don't know why devs are so detached from reality to seemingly not notice.
@Jed said:
Yeah they could encourage people to play both sides more often by offering extra bloodpoints. Or just make it mandatory to switch every....lets say four games. So after four games of survivor you have to switch and play at least one game as the killer or vice versa. I think this would be reasonable for most IF it improved the lobby time.
Or... and i know this is very controversial and might even cause some people to faint.
But stick with me here on this mindblowing idea: How about making killers an enjoyable experience, so people actually want to play killer?

Kill rates and pick rates are totally different beasts. Saying “nobody plays Nurse” is easily disproved by pick rate stats because they’re a straightforward yes/no statistic that isn’t influenced by playstyle, add ons, perks, matchmaking and so on. You either play Nurse or you don’t. They might be influenced by Tome challenges but since Nurse has yet to be in the Tomes, I highly doubt her pick rate is inflated by that. Kill rates on the other hand are way more complex - you can’t say with 100% certainty why Pig has a higher kill rate than Spirit, it’s influenced by many things.
Unless you can think of a reason why pick rates would be inflated by some external force to show more people playing Nurse than there are in reality, they’re a reliable source of information.
A high kill rate on a killer who barely gets picked, will usually look higher than it actually is. The more people play a killer, the more accurate the kill rate is.
-
@xenotimebong said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1824334#Comment_1824334
Nurse has a pick rate of over 5% at all ranks and over 6% at red ranks, which considering there are over 20 killers to choose from is not bad at all. She’s played more than many other killers. She’s played more than Freddy and more than Spirit.
Then her low kill rate should be actually accurate (unlike the pigs one) and she deservers a buff.

Killers do get notifications when Survivors are using perks; DS and Breakout both alert you in the bottom right corner, and more perks should have similar alerts.
However, that doesn't add or detract from the topic at hand. Hex: Undying shouldn't get an alert just because Killers also get alerts, and it shouldn't not get alert if Killers didn't get alerts.
It should get or not get an alert based on it's own merits.
Oh yeah, before the DS notification, killers were absolutely clueless on what just happend. 😅
I mean, notifications for things, that are not happening in the visual field of the killer/survivor.

I think brining in more killer players is more worthwhile then making some datasheet more accurate.
Lets be real if the devs are gonna find a way to balance the game it needs to be through a proper qa high rank testers.
Besides variable like overaltruism and face camping means no survivour or all survivours technically wins. Anyone who uses escape and kills as a measurement of balance is a fool to forsake the other variables.
I agree.
Getting accurate data might be difficult. That´s why i recommend regular tournaments with real prizes. People are more eager to play perfectly instead of just throwing the game, when there is something they can get out of it.
-
Killer perks shouldn´t give any notifications to survivors.
Or do killers get a notification that survivors are currently getting use out of Proove Thyself? Or that Spine Chill activated?

Its not keys. keys counter noed since likely one dead survivour can open the hatch escape at one gen left meaning noed is gonna yield no value. You need gen delay and slug based gameplay to try and lock the hatch option out at least till one survivour is left. Obviously its not easy.
Noed seeing so much use because its a good perk for players who struggle getting to grips with applying map pressure. Combined with killer queue times being significantly lower you will see more players trying to pick up the role and seeing noed as a strong perk option since other perks require specific play patterns to yield results.
Insert hurr durr crap killer players use noed. Let get this out of the way killer is a hard role. There is a lot of easy traps to fall for. A lot of killers have clunky powers and as such you will see a lot of noed players for people trying to learn killer. Not everyone can experiance loss after loss as killer and continue to want to learn.
If noed gives new killers a chance at success i welcome it frankly im sick of long survivour queue times.
Honestly, i wouldn´t recomment any killer to use NOED. Why? Because it skews the data the devs get. They see killer gets 2 kills, and think everything is fine, when that killer got exactly 2 hooks because of NOED.

It's just Latency. It's as good as it will get on dedicated servers.

I don't usually play killer but I decided I would give it another try. I am rank 20 I was matched against rank 12 survivors. That made it not even fun to play so I guess my question is #########
Don't worry. Once you reach rank 17, the matchmaking thinks you're fit to face red ranks.
That's also a way to discourage new killers...
-
Maybe it's because survivors stopped bothering about totems and just gen rush until the hatch spawns.
Because someone always brings a key.
-
@Shirokinukatsukami said:
I mean it was a little too easy getting a key with that build, but since a key nerf is coming up was it even necessary? Not to mention it's far from meta; playing Plunderer/Appraisal is pretty niche and more something you do for kicks rather than because you want to win. It's a weak build that doesn't help you do gens or loop the killer, and in fact is detrimental to the team because you're wasting time opening chests instead of doing gens.
I wouldn't expect a key nerf within the next 6 months (or more).

How would that work though mori animations are made for on the ground.
Also they want it to be the entity taking the sacrifice as that is the entire plot of the game lore wise.
And they can't make mori's themselves just base kit without the hook; because that would be broken. Mori's still negate an entire last leg of the match, no flashlight saves, no pallet saves, no Decisive saves, none of that.
But that's not worth paying 7k bloodpoints for.
-
With the nerf, they could actually make moris basekit. So every third hook is a mori sequence.

I've literally ran Corrupt as my only "gen defense" for almost a year now and never felt forced to take 2 perks to have a chance to win against people who want to push gens.
The real issue with the Ruin-Undying-Tinkerer combo is solo queue. You're severely underestimating how unbelievably bad solos are, and that's why the combo is a problem in solo queue.
No, i don´t underestimate it. Its just that some survivors are on ranks, they don´t belong to. I´ve seen survivors on rank 1 that behaved like a rank 20 player who just installed the game.

(UNPOPULAR OPINION ALERT)
Ruin + Undying is garbage.
Well there, I've said it. I'm a killer main and I'm so sick of using these perks. I have used R+U on multiple different killers (Freddy, Legion, Blight) and every. single. time. Undying gets broken first. Like seriously, it is an unspoken rule buried in the code of this game that Undying most be the fist totem broken in the match? In fact I just played a Legion game last night in which I used four hex perks and Undying STILL got cleansed first. I started using Surge + Pop a while ago and I must say, they are far better than Ruin + Undying. Also, as a survivor, this exact same thing happens. I will check to see if the killer has Ruin (which they do), and so I'll sit on the gen minding my own business and then I'll hear one of my team mates cleanse a hex in the distance, so I'll check to see if Ruin is still there which it is, followed usually followed in less than a minute by Ruin. Until then I will keep my opinion on this topic. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.
Of course it´s garbage. It would have been OP with the old Ruin. But on the new one? Just ignore it and hold m1.
I wonder how long it takes, until survivors realize that.
