Freddy didn´t need a full rework. Giving him the ability to interact with survivors that are holding m1 would have been suficient.
I used to be a Freddy main before his rework and reached rank 1 with him. His gameplay was completely different from now.
He was able to mindgame, use hit&run, etc. That´s the way i used to enjoy him.
Btw, now i only touch him for dailys if at all...

It's hard to say if the were a SWF or not. Which perk do you consider meme? And as for points for several gens, It's not like they weren't doing gens, more that I was pushing them off and they weren't completing them. And what is there to doubt? I stand by my statement that killer is stupid easy to play. Once you get good with killer you stop losing. It's game after game of beating "sweaty rank 1 survivors". Just look at Otz , Heather (aka meangirl), Dowsey, Fungoose, Scott Jund, or OhTofu, they can go several days without losing. It's because killer is overtuned easy right now.
Then killers should be nerfed, right?
When they are obvously over tuned.
Anyway, it's not about the kills but about the fun. OoO users don't survive more than other survivors. But does the killer have fun, while facing OoO?
-
@TAG is right tho. It wouldn't encourage sportsmanship. It's a punishment. People would abuse it to punish people they lost against.
MLGA had a blacklist feature like what you suggested. People abused it to blacklist players for bs reasons like playing Freddy.
So no, that's a terrible idea, unless you want really long queues for survivors.

These guys all depiped. So it is possible that they were all rank 1. They chose the map and they brutally lost without completing a single gen. If you're playing this game with a strong killer, killer is easy.
Not a full SWF + console players + meme perks + enough points for several gens = doubt.

Huh?
bloodlust was put into the game for infinites. That existed 3-4 years ago. There are zero infinites in this game. YouTube what an actual infinite looked like. Bloodlust is not needed in 2020-2021
Semi infinites still exist tho. I mean, I looped killers for ages during the bloodlust free weekend. So it's not about the infinites, but more about the differences in hitboxes. Make killers hitbox the same as survivors and you can remove bloodlust.

Because it's not fun to play against SWF.

Gosh that Text, calm down cutie. Just don't take a game to serious, If you can't then sry but get gud.
I'll play something else then.
Enjoy your queue.
-
There are simply not enough red rank killers around. That´s the whole problem.
-
The reason survivors have long queues, is because there are not enough people willing to play killer. Only way to fix this, is to change the balance. Or in other words, make playing killer fun.
-
We are right back to the famous moment, when Matthieu recommended killers to switch to survivor or play something else.
Well surprise! Killers did exactly that!
The Stream, where they explained, that they don´t see a problem with OoO, because their stats show, that it´s users don´t survive particuarly often, also didn´t help. Because it´s not about the survival rate of that perk. It´s about how it feels playing against it. Especially against SWF. Sure, a killer can win this. But a what cost? It´s a frustrating match, that sucks out all enjoyment and pleasure of playing a GAME.
The devs constantly balance around the gameplay experience of new survivors. Ruin was nerfed hard, because it was to frustrating for new survivors. They just looked at the stats, saw that Ruin was used to much and removed it. Without ever considering WHY so many killers felt the need to use this perk. Now, with it gone, the problem of gen speed became more obvious, as killers got gen rushed left and right. But instead of reversing the Ruin changes or doing something about the gen speeds, they gave us Undying in the hope, that it would force survivors to finally do their secondary objective: Totems. So far it works as intented. But survivors already complain about this "unfair and OP combo". So now it´s only a matter of time, before the devs will do something to appease the masses of survivors that can´t stand doing anything else than gens.
But lets be honest, the Undying + Ruin Combo didn´t really slow the gen speed down. At least not, where it matters. Because, Ruin isn´t really effective against SWF or people that are glued to the gens. So it´s only a psychological effect, and who knows how long it takes, before it wears off and survivors just ignore it like before. When this happens, even more killers will leave.
A few months ago, there was a tournament with a 15.000€ prizepool. Not a official tournament, but one where supposedly the best played against the best. That tournament made it painfully obvious, how strong the survivor role is. When survivors roflstomped the best killers.
Devs could and should hold regular matches with nice prices in order to draw conclusions about the balance. Treat it like a e-sports game. While also introduce a casual mode, which is more forgiving for both sides. That way, they could make the people happy, that just want a relaxing match as well as the people that want a more competitive gamemode.
-
Since killers can´t switch, the only other option is to dodge.
Can´t blame them for that.

Everyone is enjoying to play Killer. That is the reason why many people watch Killer Streamers... or maybe because Noob3 don't Upload anything more :(
I doubt that everyone enjoys playing killer. Otherwise killers would have longer queues, since it would be a more popular role.

Killers are definitely really strong, but they are harder to master. It's not that difficult to comprehend.
I know people who struggle to get a 2k in yellow-green ranks, on the other hand, if I stop playing (happened in the past a few times) for some months and come back, I can 4k almost every game effortlessly from rank 20 to reds. Why? Because most of my 1500+ hours are killer playtime and I like to learn and master things. Some players don't have the will or the patience to do that and they claim killers are weak.
So people don´t enjoy playing the OP role, correct?

Dude Killer are so strong as never bevor. Stop with that nonsense.
So why do survivors have long queues, when killers are OP?
Shouldn´t killers have long queues then?
-
Survivors queues went up, because less people want to play killer.
Should we improve the gameplay experience for killers to change that? Naaaah, we´ll just replace them with bots!

When it comes to Perks, yes. But thats the Devs, not releasing good Survivor Perks anymore. I rather prefer Killer Perks, because at least there is a chance to use them on some Killers, Survivor Perks are usually only 3 more Perks for completion again, which will almost never be touched.
When it comes to adapting to things...Eh. Killers are way louder when they need to adapt. Without any reason tbh, my games without Bloodlust were not different from the games I had with Bloodlust. I can say that quite sure for Killer, but not for Survivor, since I had some pretty strange Matchmaking yesterday evening (like myself as PC Survivor, Rank 1 together with 3 Rank 16 COnsole players against a Rank 11 Console Killer...almost all of my games were that strange that I at least got 2 low Rank Survivors and sometimes another Red Rank Survivor and Killer, so I cannot really say that Bloodlust makes any difference as Survivor, when I need to go against a Killer who is 10 Ranks below me).
They released good survivor perks.
Felix perks are great and more so the perks we get with the new survivor.
I really don't understand, why people are not using them more.
But maybe I'm the exception, because I don't run meta perks like SC, DS, DH, SB or Unbreakable.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
Over the years, the game became just easier and easier for Killers. Like, the game today cannot be compared to the game 2 years ago. Let alone, the game 4 years ago.
There were many Survivor Nerfs over time, which were also justified. Now they are also reworking the Maps and the reworked Maps have fairer Loops than before - unsafe Pallets which can be played by Killer and Survivor. Both have the chance of outplaying each other, however, with Bloodlust, those fair Loops become unfair, because the Killer gets a free Speedboost, which makes the Loop in the favor of the Killer, even if they got outplayed on it.
So they are testing if they can remove the band-aid fix they introduced years ago. And on the reworked Maps or newer Maps - yes, they can do that. I guess there will be multiple tests over the next months, so Bloodlust will stay in the game (and sadly carry some Killers...), but if the game becomes easier for one side, it is clear that there will also be some Nerfs. Thats how Balance works.
Balance is not "Nerf Survivors, buff Killers and nothing else".
While i agree, that killers have it easier now, than they had it years ago. The meta for survivors didn´t change.
The survivor meta perks from 3 years ago are exactly the same as the survivor meta perks we have now.
We really didn´t have any significant changes to the survivor meta. While the killer meta constantly changes because of hard nerfs.
In other words. Killers always had to adapt to a new situations, while survivors really never had to adapt. They always use the same build and optimized the running in circles.

BL was always intended as a temporary mechanic to help with looping while the devs reworked the maps. They reworked several maps, now they need to know if BL is still needed or not. If it is, they need to know which loops still need reworks. If not, they need to rework Beast of Prey and permanently disable BL.
I know, it was a bandaid.
Removing it makes sense as long as the problems, that it tried to fix, are also gone.
My approach would be to give killers the same hitbox as survivors. Then survivors wouldn´t have that much of an advantage during loops and BL could be removed.

I've been seeing a lot of killer mains posting their annoyance about the lack of bloodlust this weekend and I only have one thing to say about that:
If you are experiencing survivors escaping more often this weekend and feel no bloodlust is the issue, you're finally seeing the skill-gap those particular survivors have compared to you.
Bloodlust is the equivalent of throwing GTA V's catch-up feature from races into a proper Forza race. It's a subtle crutch that gives killers an edge they wouldn't normally have, even when they're already faster.
If a survivor is getting away more, then they are ultimately outplaying you. There will always be small outliers, but claiming bloodlust is the difference maker is not a reasonable excuse.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk
Now that you talk about skill.
May I ask if your build contains DS and a exhaustion perk?
I'm really curious.
-
Without it, the game is unplayable.
-
Iri hatchets are fine.
Had several matches against iri hatchet huntress and (unless the survivors are terribly bad) she only gets 1 or 2 kills.
Just rush gens like usually and escape.

Again a joke statement with swf being there but i feel they still want to hold on to their original vision of the game while just ignoring swf and seeing it as a nececarry evil to keep the game popular
Don't get me wrong, absolutly love the idea, just saying the probable reason why this isn't in the game already

Waste of time, blacklist a voice chat program and people will just do it over the phone. Why bother going through a lengthy process if people can circumvent it that easilly
Then introduce a legit way, so everyone can benefit from it.
-
@Sonzaishinai said:
Well the reason is because the game is intended to be played with a lack of communication.
Yes i know a joke statement with swf being what it is but it is what it is.
If it would be really designed to be played like this, then external voice chat programs would be blacklisted.

All phrases are shown in different language depending on what language people have set in their game, so no language barrier problem. There's no "chat" option so people can't call each other names even if they wanted to, etc.
This is just a ######### edit of dota chatwheel, of course this could look much better and have more phrases for every situation like "killer has enduring" or "the trap is here" or "killer stopped chasing me" and so on. Survivors in SWF can already achieve same level of communication, so why can't solo players be allowed to do that?
Why can't this be a thing?
Thats actually a brilliant idea.
I fully support this!

I prefer dedicated servers 100%. Playing against killer with McDonald's wifi sucked. Or the non-stop lag switch when a killer was losing. Sure the lag issues with dedicated servers suck but not nearly as bad as when there was no dedicated servers.

So much better!

I mean, the theory sounded great.
But in the end, the problems with P2P were still present, just hidden (e.g. bad internet connections of Killers are hidden from Survivors, Lagswitching is still possible on both sides) and new ones got introduced (bugged Perks and Killer Powers, grabs broken for months on both ends).
So overall, Dedicated Servers were a step back.
No one believed me, when i said, that dedicated servers are a terrible idea. People just thought, that it would be as any other game which was designed from scratch with dedicated servers in mind. But this game was never intended to have dedicated servers.
Getting rid of lag switchers was the main selling point of dedicated servers. I can´t remember any other selling points for it.
-

They are fixing Dead Hard, it is one of the Perks which get reworked in the future (probably 6 months or so, if I look at the last batch of Perks) which the main purpose of the Rework to make it work on Dedicated Servers. No idea if they will also change its effect, would be a shame if there would be even less variety in Survivor Builds afterwards, but thats something where we just have to wait.
Regarding Coup de Grace, this Perk was designed under Dedicated Servers, unlike Dead Hard which was designed under P2P (meaning the Killer had 0 Ping). And it is most likely easier to implement something on Dedicated Servers than changing something to work with Dedicated Servers (even tho, it takes them far too long IMO).
I agree.
I never understood, why people were so adamant about getting dedicated servers.

Wglf gains stacks on more actions that just unhooks.
Instead of treating cage saves as unhooks for the case of wglf, it could make sense to simply expand this perk's tokken gain conditions.
Then BBQ stacks should also work with cages.

WGLF stacks are way easier to get than BBQ stacks.
You can get 3 stacks with 1 unhook.
