Locking content for anyone who isn´t watching 24/7 streams is a terrible idea.

Stacks have only been given by protection hits and taking survivors off of hooks. There's a chance that maybe you've taken a protection hit then a survivor wiggles out of the killers grasp and you thought that the grasp rescue was what gave you the stack.
Wrong.
Flashlight and pallet stun rescues always gave WGLF stacks.
I really don´t know why they praise them as new ways to get stacks.

Each side has 4 objectives. They happen to be called the Emblems.
4 killer objectives in a nutshell:
- defend gens (totally not in the killers hands)
- hooks n kills (it takes points away, if survivors escape your grasp or get up from dying. With the DS/Unbreakable meta...)
- run in circles (ironically the longer you run, the more points you get)
- spam m1 (if you use m2 to down survivors, or by a miracle manage to grab a survivor, you won´t get points/less points)
4 survivor objectives in a nutshell:
- hold m1 (gens)
- hold m1 (heals)
- run in circles (maybe the points were switched with the killers objective, and no one noticed)
- spam ctrl at the exit gate

Imagine still being salty about Ruin, when it’s dare I say....better now
Oh it IS definetly better... for survivors.
Old Ruin required survivors to have skill in hitting skill checks. They took the skill out of skill checks (oh the irony).

I mean, like I said, if the survivor decides to not heal, they will be vulnerable if they decide to work on a gen. If you catch them off guard, or the gen is in a dead zone, then it's an easy down for you. It's up to you as a killer to take advantage of it. Isn't it?
Sounds good. Doesn´t work.
Survivors that play like this usually are SWF and have the Adrenaline backup. So there isn´t much of a surprise here.

I was stating facts about DbD's history, that's it. His point is irrelevant because it was never about that.
- The devs said a 3-second stun was OK without Enduring.
- The devs buffed DS to 5 seconds because of Enduring.
- The devs nerfed Enduring because it was too strong against stun perks.
- DS was never reverted to its 3-second stun even though the reason for the buff to 5 seconds no longer existed (i.e.: Enduring no longer affected it).
These are the indisputable facts that I've been stating. So what am I supposed to learn regarding these facts?
Maybe the devs forgot and/or didn´t notice. You know, like when they thought that Lightborn actually did something against Flashlights.

No mither shouldn't activate until you are first injured, and remove the broken icon, so the killer doesn't know you have it.
Also, it should reduce grunts of pain by 100%, not just 50%.
I agree.
It should also give bonus bloodpoints. Just like the killer addons that make their power useless, but give bonus points.

Well, if you're chasing someone off of a gen, then you usually can get an injure on a survivor. And then you just make a simple choice - is it worth to commit to a down? If there are good tiles nearby and the survivor is good, then no, go patrol gens - if the survivor is injured they will either have to heal or they will be more vulnerable if you catch them off guard. Otherwise go for the down.
And I agree that gen tapping is bad, but if that bothers you, you can use Dragon's grip or Overcharge, for example. It's not like there is no counter.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1674998#Comment_1674998
Well, you just proved my point? The post you sent talks about the Enduring "nerf" - but like Peanits said, it was done for, what I said tons of times already, consistency AND balancing. If the balance team decided that a 5 seconds stun is appropriate, (because, like Peanits said, they considered changing it back), then it is.
I'm going to stop responding to this thread, because it's just like talking to a wall at this point.
Game balancing is not bias. Consistency is not bias. Have a nice day.
Survivors don´t heal if a gen reached a certain point of progress. They just push the gen out and worry about the heal afterwards (Adrenaline is a thing),
At least the survivors in red ranks behave like this. Don´t know about brown ranks.
-
@Tactless_Ninja said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1674990#Comment_1674990
What should happen instead? A 5 second start up where no progress is seen? An entity blocker that makes them work on a different gen?
And there are perks that exploit that behavior. An Overcharged gen with Dragons Grip will get more regression, and a down. Oh but we don't use those because the meta don't call for it and that means they're garbage. Durrr.
A fixed animation like killers have. Why should a tap "stabilize" a gen?
And no, we don´t use those. Because Overcharge skill checks aren´t really hard to hit and because Dragons Grip is kinda meh. (both are meh)

@MrLimonka said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1674978#Comment_1674978
You can apply pressure properly by knowing that your priority is to protect gens, and not chasing survivors for 4 gens around good tiles and then complaining about gen rushing.
Compared to regular regression speed, it's much faster. It's the only perk that regresses gens quicker. Is there more to say?
And your last point just proves that ruin is good? Gen tapping mid chase will literally do nothing against ruin.
So you protect the gens by chasing survivors away from a gen (and not commiting to the down, yes?).
What´s stopping survivors from just going back to the gen, once you leave?
The kick animation point, was regarding the original statement, that the devs prefer survivors over killers.
-
@MrLimonka said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1674912#Comment_1674912
If you know which gens are being worked on, you can apply pressure and nullify all progress on them. The regression speed is huge, and you don't have to waste time to kick them. If you hook/down someone, a survivor doing gens has to make a difficult choice - keep working on the gen and possibly let their teammate down, or help them and leave the gen to regress. Old ruin just made the gens speeds inconsistently longer. People complained because new ruin actually needs some input from the killer side
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1674920#Comment_1674920
Sorry to say this, but I think you are the one who thinks that there is a big "dev bias" conspiracy. If you said the devs said what you said, then I want to see the exact source. If you can't provide, too bad. I won't believe you...
Could you define "applying pressure", please?
The gen regression speed of Ruin is half of what a single survivor takes to repair. That´s not really much.
Oh and thank you for pointing out, that killers have to kick a gen (with a 2 second animation) while survivors can just tap it mid chase. Great example!

Compromise: Make tunnelling near impossible or bannable. It's also frustrating for new players.
But tunneling is just the killer doing his objective. What else is he supposed to do? He has no secondary objective like survivors do.
-
@Sluzzy said:
In the grand scheme, they mostly listen to killers for sure. Survivors have continuously been nerfed since 2016 in so many ways. There's been a few killer nerfs here and there (Nurse and Hillbilly) but overall they have all been buffed. With all the perks killers have at their disposal, it is no longer about skill to win, they use perks to find gens being worked on, auras to chase, and regress and stop the objective with ease. A fairly decent killer using good addons, and the best oppressive killer perks all require a top SWF sweating a genrush to just barely stand a chance to open the gates.
There was someone who updated a list of killer and survivor nerfs. Killer list was 4 times longer.

@PigMainClaudette said:

If you have at least two braincells and know how to utilize the perk, then yeah, it is strong - much stronger than old ruin. And if you think survivors do not search for ruin, then please get out of green/brown ranks.

You can never be sure without a source. And even then, like I said, this was done for balancing and consistency reasons, not because the devs favor one side or another.
Okay, i give you the benefit of the doubt. How is the new Ruin stronger then the old one?
-
@MrLimonka said:
Can you provide ANY examples where BHVR favored survivors? Any at all?
The devs have been constantly balancing the game, and now killers have a have a much higher chance of winning compared to previous years, where you could have 2 pallets at the same loop, infinites, exhaustion recovering mid-chase.. but you still complain about BHVR favoring survivors? In my eyes, there have been more killer buffs than survivor buffs.
So you asked for examples and then dismiss them...
Okay then.

What bias?
-
@LetsPlayTogether said:
Gen rush is your inability to generate pressure. Its not the survivors nor the games fault.
Exactly!
Tunneling someone early out, generates a ton of pressure. So the solution to gen rush is simply tunneling.
Injuring survivors or chasing them away from gens has no effect. They´ll just go back to the gen, once you break the chase. Often they don´t even bother with healing. Because they have Adrenaline (and then complain about NOED... oh the irony).
-
It all depends on how the match goes.
Survivivors always coming back to the same gen/totem? Return the favor.
If not, you can just leave and play "nice".

With all due respect, I disagree with your view that the developers balance the game around solo survivors. Long ago, it was, but the devs are well aware of the popularity of SWF now, and a large amount of the changes coming into the game seem to be in response to this and seem to keep in mind that people like to play in groups.
It may not have been the developers' intention for people to play with voice chat, but it has been happening for years, and there is no way that they are not considering this fact when making balancing decisions.
Then why don´t they introduce ingame voice com, so everyone can play on the same lvl?
We now have dedicated servers. Adding voice com wouldn´t be a problem.

You can also end a chase instantly when they're injured or with Noed when it's a cocky group of survivors teabagging at the exit. It's situational but when it hits, it hits hard.
But most of the time, due to 99% the gate, it doesn´t hit.
It has actually a very short timeframe to trigger.
-
@Tactless_Ninja said:
I dunno. It's a full minute which is a lot of time when the entire world is crumbling around you.
Maybe it starts the end game collapse immediately before any gates are open? But then they'd definitely know you have Blood Warden.
Chases can last more than a minute. Especially with DS and BT.

A Shapeshifter.
Killer who could make himself appear as different killer and as a survivor.
At the start of the match, the survivors would think it´s killer XXX and approach the match accordingly. Then as the match proceeds he changes to the appearance of a survivor, who could trick other survivors to make gens with him and then grab them off the gen or lure them to dead ends.
Lobby would have to reveal who is SWF, or it won´t work.

Which when you look at the gameplay it's a lot of the same, you can claim the meta is different but the results are the same, you play killer you win games easy without needing to try up to rank 10, even then you have the ability and knowledge to compete at the high ranks, just because some not everyone can 4k with every killer does not mean they need any buffs, just a few changes
Have you reached rank 1 yet? Since it's so easy.
-
@GrootDude said:
@Tsulan the only difference in the meta from console to pc is that pc players play Nurse more, people still hit most skill checks.
@GrootDude are we really discussing about the easy rank ups of a rank 15 killer?
Consoles have lesser frames, downgraded graphics and different controls than PC.
Maybe if we had cross play, then we could see the differences more clearly.

Even so, in all my time playing you rarely get this combo to work, unless you're in a SWF group sweating. Usually somebody misses a skill check, ruin slows it more. When a survivor is hooked it's almost 100% certain 2 survivors are not on gens and going for the save which gets 2 survivors down. What I'm getting at is that won't always happen, you can't claim that without adding room for error because not everybody is that good
Your experience comes from consoles and low rank pc.
Consoles are nothing like pc. Its a whole different meta.
I´d recommend you to reach rank 1 killer on pc and then we can talk about survivors not hitting skill checks or games taking forever.
