  • It could use the buff.

    Sounds ok for me.

  • Probably just a buggy map/match.

Skill checks are client side btw.

  • Go for David with WGLF first.

    More blood points!

  • @NMCKE thank you!

I love to play survivor against Myers. Great jump scares. I´d love to have more situations like that, where i feel afraid of the killer (horror game) instead of trying to find ninja claudettes.

I remember the old darkest moonlight offerings. Where claudettes where invisible.

  • Brighter would be nice.

Alternatively you could make the game darker for survivors (so it would be scary) but keep the darkness it has now for killers.

  • Try aiming at the spot below the face.

The cone widens if you succeed.

    Flashlights are fine now.

  • M&A first then Nurse calling.

Forget about Brutal Strength, the perk is overrated.

  • @Cejar13321 said:

Noone is playing survivor atm yet everyone on this forum argues about how hurt they are as killers while someone is speaking about killers not being weak.

Survivor may be a power role at the red ranks but every other player in this game dont give a damn about red ranks. Survivor is completely noob unfriendly and the noob community is the majority of the game. You guys are the only ones that really speaks at this forum thats why you may think you are right but no new player will decide to play survivor unless its with friends and thats why the game is dying and we wait 20 minutes each killer game.

Game isn´t dying. The Playerbase has been getting bigger and bigger. Unlike for example the Division 2 Playerbase. Which is only a shade of it´s former self.

Balancing around rank 20 has hurt this game in the past. See Freddy nerf after a week, because rank 20 survivors found him OP.

This game needs to be balanced around high ranks, just as any other pvp game does.

Single gen takes about 1:16 if you hit all the greats skillchecks.

Its more than "possible" to get 3-4 kills even under that time you mentioned above.

Single gen takes 80 seconds for a single survivor, when you hit normal skill checks and don't use toolboxes. Since great skill checks are RNG you could get 1 or 10 during the repair.

Usually 1 survivor gets chased and loops the killer through a jungle gym while the 3 other survivors repair gens.

It's not unusual to see 2-3 gens done before the killer hooks the first survivor.

Hook phase is 120 seconds from first hook till death. From there one survivor unhooks while the other two repair.

  • On red ranks the gates are powered within the first 3-4 minutes. Survivors that know how to keep you busy for 5 gens and that power through ruin.

On rank 20 to 15 you can't literally depip. On red ranks you could get 4 kills + max bloodpoints and still only safety pip.

I main him at rank 1

I use PGTW, B&C,Bamboozle and for my 4th perk slot I sometimes run NC,Thrilling Tremors,Thana,Fire Up also works well on him.

I Try to hit multiple people and then mindgame loops,if I get looped for a lot ,even if the survivor is injured,I hit him with FF and go to other people .

You use fire up on rank 1?

    LoL sure.

Yeah, that was my plan. Bubba first then the hagatha. So BBQ chili and Ruin, what should on focus on after those two?

It depends on your playstyle. During a sale (once per month on steam or humble bundle) the dlcs get reduced by 40%.

Nurse is the unrivaled master on high ranks. But she has a huge learning curve, and it can take you 50-200 hours to master her.

Spirit is close second, then Hillbilly. He's the easiest to learn of those 3.

Myers can do some nice jump scares. But requires a Doctor perk (monitor&abuse) to be fully efficient.

Doctor can be annoying af. Some like the screams.

Hag can be very stressful. But is strong with her traps.

Most people started with the trapper who is okay on mid ranks, but loses pressure on high ranks.

The majority of the killer mains have every killer on lvl 50.

  • @LapisInfernalis yes, of course it's time consuming. Ignoring them usually gets them desperate. Since only repairing gens is a boring stream. So they'll get cockyier until they reach they point where they can't escape.

Then they either DC or their pets try everything to save them. If this fails, everyone DCs.

  • So, are you enjoying the rank reset so far?

Yeah, I have an offering to play him, but I worry it's just going to be a 0k tragedy with him now being the worst Killer.

@Captain_Doomsday try him. He can be fun.

  • @Mister_xD and yet they fail to see that they caused it themselves.

  • How about rewarding killers for not camping?

Ah wait no, you don´t like that.

Is there any punishment for doing a gen rush btw? Or do you consider gen rush normal, valid gameplay?

  • What makes you think that those problems would be solved by dedicated servers?

  • Face camping doesn't exist anymore.

What you describe is hard camping. This can be solved by running BT.

Other than that, your idea would be abused by survivors. They'd just loop around the hooked survivor. Just to troll.

  • You get more points if you leave the hook and go for someone else.

People will still call you a camper, no matter what.

Tomorrow is the Rank reset. Prepare for some terrible matches against high rank survivors.

Avoid survivors that spam their flashlight into your direction. They usually know what they do and will keep you busy for the rest of the match.

    in Camping? Comment by Tsulan
  • Giving a flashlight clicking twitch streamer all the attention he asked for.

While he hangs on the hook.

  • Survivors can camp, and they already do.

  • Happy birthday!

  • They should at least change the items/perks that award bonus blood points, to award them after the match. Not during the match.

But i agree, the cap is stupid.

Same goes for the 1 million cap.

  • I actually expected someone asking for a ruin buff. But not this 15-20 minute nonsense.

    Rank 3-4? You sure?

    Sounds boosted.

I think Freddy is pretty decent to be honest! Yeah sure, he lost a lot of the things that made him good, but after a while, you'll see that he's not as bad as others are making him out to be (Besides the Snares).

@NMCKE He lost his uniqueness. Now he´s just another M1 Killer.

The Aura reading was great for positioning and mindgames. He lost that.

Being asleep barely affects survivors. Once they got used to him, he´ll be right where we started: Bottom tier.

I find these comments quite interesting considering how much people are bitching about SWF (punish it or even remove it) and at the same time arguing that the game design should make solo play maximally unattractive and frustrating so that players are pushed into SWF.

I have currently quit playing survivor entirely exactly because of the perceived EGC unfairness. My teammates are too often potatoes and get wrecked in shortest time. Meanwhile the killer is as big a potato and couldn’t even hit me in multiple chases, but all he needs to do is to close the hatch and all of a sudden it doesn’t matter if he can’t hit me because he just needs to keep me from opening the doors which is often enough as easy as standing on a hill and watching both doors from there.

I am not complaining though, but willing to adapt. Adapting means in my case that if I decide to start again playing survivor, I will only do so in a 4SWF where I know everyone is about my level of ability, doing something useful at any time, everyone is willing and able to power through Ruin and won’t run around the map like a headless chicken to search for the totem, everyone recognises the killer perks in play and how to counter ...

This is a quite sad development. I used to love playing solo and didn’t mind getting matched with less experienced players as I could help them with my experience to live a bit longer, and in worst case I always had the hatch option. The unpredictability had some appeal, but that is gone now. I am now very picky about teammates. The current situation is only ok for me in an SWF scenario where I have control over my team („I explicitly chose to play with them, but we were not good enough“) or if the matchmaking was perfect at least 90% of the time (and „perfect“ means matching on skill, not rank). The latter is pure utopia so it‘ll be the former for me.

What has SWF to do with EGC?

I play solo all the time. Often teamed potatoe teammates. So what?

  • What about fat survivors?

    We got already fit survivors.

  • @Milo okay i had to double check. One streamer said the debris stayed. Saw some clips with what appeared to be debris. So i figured it would stay.

    My bad!

  • Just noticed. Destroyed pallets leave wood on the floor. So high rank survivors won't get fooled by the fake pallets.

Only a matter of time before more survivors adapt to that and Freddy will be weaker than he's now.

  • Am i the only one who wonders how the huntress can see ANYTHING with those masks on?

  • @Dehitay said:

Yeah, it's almost as if the increased killer queue time is due primarily to the new matchmaking system instead of an increased amount of killers. Who would have though that would be the case when the increased queue times came the exact moment the new matchmaking system was put in place and the exact same thing happened the last time this type of matchmaking system was tested. Crazy times we live in.

@Dehitay at least the increased survivor blood points will solve this issue...

    ...oh wait, it won't.

  • The'll probably nerf the pallets. Either by reducing the amount, or by making them more visible distinctive to normal Pallets.

  • Looks at the PTB

    Uhm... Freddy needs a rework!

  • Snares are useless. Pallets are fine against solos but useless against SWF. Teleport is nice. His dreamworld only serves to actually use his power like a normal killer.

Survivors already don't bother waking up. Since sleeping is not threatening at all.

By the look of the rank 20 outcries, they'll probably nerf the pallets.

All in all I liked the old Freddy more.

    @Tsulan

    Huh?!?!

Clown literally throw a bottle at distant generators to get survivors to scatter, and current Freddy?!?! If you can’t see how repeatedly putting awake survivors to sleep so that they’re under the 50% penalty (let alone all the gen regression from failed SC) then I don’t know how to convince you. Freddy is the anti gen rush KING in skilled hands

I know. But as you said "skilled hands".

I want to see those skilled hands on rank 1.

Gens get done to fast. Only 2 or 3 killers can apply map pressure. None of the mentioned killers can apply enough map pressure against skilled survivors.

  • okay... how about the Clown? Legion? Freddy? Plague? Wraith? Ghost Face? Myers? Pig? Leatherface?

  • @Andreyu44 said:

    I mean,ruin is not a necessity.

@andreyu44 could you please show us a match of you applying map pressure with for example the Trapper against rank 1 survivors?

The PTB isn't even here yet ffs. If he is actually going to be as bad as people are saying here, he's gonna get tweaks and changes.

@Shirokuro those tweaks and changes will only change numbers. But not his basekit. We wanted some QoL changes. Not another trapper.

  • @SnakeSound222 said:

Chasing the first Survivor for a minute and half, especially if they aren't injured, is a bad idea. I'd consider leaving the Survivor after 40-45 seconds, unless you really think you can get the down.

I'm kinda surprised that the devs haven't really talked about something to stop gen rush that is not a perk, add-on, or part of a Killer's power. With how long this problem has persisted (at least a couple of years now), I would think that the devs would at least share their ideas for a secondary objective or something that slows the gen completion speed with us. This is probably the biggest problem in the game. At red and purple ranks, if you end up going to the wrong side of the map, there's a pretty good chance you'll lose 2-3 gens just because of one mistake. You shouldn't be punished that hard for one mistake. You have play near-perfectly to actually stand a chance against gen rushers. None of the perks designed to counter gen rush really help either. Ruin can be worked through or found easily, Thrilling Tremors and PGTW require you to down a Survivor, and Thanatophobia is nearly useless on every Killer except Plague. I wouldn't be surprised if Survivors just keep recommending these perks so they don't have to get good and can just gen rush all day.

So you abandon all chases against high rank survivors?

    Sounds... efficient

  • This could be a rework for Monstrous Shrine.

But this is in the wrong forum.

@Peanits @MandyTalk could you move this to the correct forum, please?

  • Gen rush is a problem. All 5 gens can be repaired in 3-4 minutes or less.

Survivors asked for a secondary objective in the past. The result were some mediocre perks that could even be disabled and complaints that NOED is OP.

There probably won't come a change. For the same reason people already mentioned. Survivors don't see an issue and recommend useless perks as counter.

Thanatophobia is borderline useless. Since on 4 stacks it slows down by 16%. Prove Thyself speeds gen repair by 10%...

Ruin gets either cleansed in the first minute or people just power through. Since those skill checks aren't that hard.

Thrilling Tremors slows a gen down by 16 seconds IF survivors aren't working on it. What kind of joke is this?

I’m not sure the point your trying to get at.. You want chests for killers? I mean it sounds like you want the devs to just implement a way for killers to get more addons, which I don’t think anyone would have a problem with.. that’s no reason to try and keep the survivor bp gain abysmal.

Also, when I say survivors don’t get a chance to use their items I’m talking about killers using franklins which if we wanna look at things the way you’re thinking is causing survivors to actually lose bp.

If you lose your item to Franklin's, then either go back to where you lost it or don't stand at the exit teabagging.

Just leave the match. The killer won't hit you and you'll keep your item.

I'm not asking for chests. Since the killer already has to much stress. But there should be a way to let killers gain addons.

Maybe a perk that gives killers the addon equivalent of what items survivors are carrying. They could add requirements to further reduce camping. So both sides would benefit.

  • @SleepyWillo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/567321#Comment_567321

Not one survivor is complaining that they dont get enough items or addons! They want BPs to be fair. If I'm in a game as long as the killer and have done as much as possible (and survived) I dont see why I'm 10k bloodpoints below the killer.

Bloodpoints ARE fair! If you are as long in the match as the killer and get 10k points less than him, then you hugged the gen and did nothing to earn those points.

  • @indieeden7 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/567285#Comment_567285

You're acting as though survivors earning more points means you get less. The grind in this game is ridiculous and currently we all know that survivors earn fewer points. So what you're saying is that only 20% of the people in a match should get enough points to make any significant progress in a bloodweb despite the fact that survivors have a longer grind than killers.

If they keep the survivors bloodpoint gain the same as it is now, within a few chapters there will be no survivors for you to earn bloodpoints from seeing as they only ever get a fraction of the points that killers get. Maybe instead of instantly jumping on the killer main bandwagon of "SuRvIvOrS eNtItLeD" maybe just realise that everyone in the game is really trying to get points and you aren't any more entitled to them than anyone else. Also FYI, add-ons aren't necessary to play the game, you can play effectively with most killers without them and if you think otherwise then you've become too reliant on them.

There are exactly 2 killers that don't require addons. Guess where they are in the food chain.

    @Phox said:

Currently there are 60 killer perks and 65 survivor perks. The grind for both sides is grueling. Killers trying to say survivors shouldn’t earn more bp based off of their own confirmation bias is stupid. We lose our items and add ons all the time. Sometimes we never ever get use out of an item before dying in a trial. On average survivors earn about half as much bp as killers, and can leave a trial with less bp than a killer gets for doing almost nothing.

If you want killer que times to improve, and to be able to play killer during events, then offering more compensation to survivors is going to HELP you. How can some of you not see that? When I am grinding to level a survivors bloodweb I reluctantly play killer just because I can easily with perks and offerings get 60k-100k+ per trial. If I could get even close to that as survivor I’d not bother playing killer during events and in times where I’m grinding, and many others would also not being fighting you for lobbies. This is only going to improve things for both sides, in no way will survivors earning slightly more bp harm killers so can we stop acting like that’s the case? Or do y’all complaining have more nonsense arguments to add?

You know, I would love to have a killer perk that gives me free addons. Just like plunderers and ace in the hole.

But such things only exist for survivors.

When I equip my farm build on my survivors I get items worth of 10-12k points.

Survivors have the tools. But complain when they don't use them.

Unfortunately, for many people, their perception of reality is more important than reality.

@Orion just found a thread, where someone had long queues as killer AND as survivor.

Yep, it´s clearly a "survivor not appealing enough" issue. That will be "solved" (or not) by increasing the blood points for survivors.

Can´t wait for the "told ya" comments.

  • @Dehitay said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/567057#Comment_567057

Oh, that's probly due to the new matchmaking system. The intended design is for it to wait to get all 5 players and then make a lobby with all 5 players in the lobby already. However, it's clearly busted and does some kind of complicated search that makes it take around 5 minutes to make a lobby which may very well not have a full set of players, and then proceeds to do the original kind of search in order to fill the empty slots which can take another 3 minutes. The original system instantly made a lobby and then filled it as best it could. Consequently, when there's a close to 4:1 ratio of survivors:killer, the survivors also end up affected by that around 5 minute wait for a lobby to be created before they're allowed to be added.

Of course, BHVR is adamant that the longer queue times are due to there being more killers than survivors, but anybody who was around for the previous attempt at this kind of matchmaking system remembers very well that it also came with a significant increase in queue times. It doesn't take a genius to figure out the most likely culprit is the matchmaking system, but for some reason BHVR won't concede to that possibility. At least the last attempt at this kind of matchmaking system was actually successful in having all 5 players in the lobby when it was finally made.

@Dehitay and remember, this problem will be "solved" by giving survivors more blood points.

  • @MegaWaffle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/566408#Comment_566408

I honestly don't care if they decide to give more BP (as it will help the grind for everyone all around) but considering the original intent behind the BP increase for killers was due to item/add-on economy (killers only have the bloodweb to replenish supply) I'm wondering what they are going to do to address this problem.

@MegaWaffle probably nothing. Since an increase in killer points would call for a shitstorm from survivors.

They percive that they get less. Even if it´s not, but there is no way to convince them.

So survivors will get more points + get items during the match. While killers get... a git gud comment.

  • @BongRips4Wraith said:

Ranking as survivors is legitimately broken, most of the (survivor) player base won't be in the ranks killers are sitting at

Ranking as killer is way too easy and pips are awarded simply for holding w in a chase and bonus for landing a hit.

The most recent vault change was yet another significant survivor nerf, meanwhile nurse still exists, spirits are running around rampant now that more people know how to play her (and she's arguably less fun to play against than Nurse), and more and more pallets/windows continue to get stripped away while Instasaw Ruin Billy decimates your solo survivor team.

There's nothing to fix, people want to play the power role. Back in 2017 Killer queues were always instant and Survivor queues would take upwards of 15 minutes. Late last year and early this year they started doing pretty good at making sure most matches started off favoring neither side. Now they're taking it in the exact opposite direction from where the game was in 2016/7

Uh... you missed the thread where killers posted screenshots of 4 kills and blackpips.

Or maybe you prefer a video from a streamer who got 31,5k points and a black pip.
