I'm at red ranks and that isn't true.
Then you are also afk.
You get 2 Iridescent emblems because uninjured and light bringer.
Find the killer and get a chase. Ez pip.
If the killer is afk Wraith you'll end up with black pip. But never depip.
-
@Marigoria said:
All you can do about those is to report (even though nothing actually happens with reports anyway).
They also make you depip most of the time.
Depip? That's bs! Red rank survivors easily pip with a afk killer.
-
Afk and bots are 2 different things.
Oh and you won't depip from that.

I know.I'm lucky enough to have the majority of them before the emblem system got introduced.
That's why I think that they should rework the emblems. The current system doesn't have the different killers and their abilities in mind. Insta down killers, trapping killers and killers that use their ultra rares get punished emblem wise for using their powers/addons.

Sure,killers did get some nerfs here and there but they were mostly justified
Some buffs to agitation and iron grasp would be nice,i agree
If you are able to ignore ruin then the killer isn't doimg a great job at pressuring survivors
Nurse and Billy are still strong,but quite a few people dropped them because of how annoying it is to deal with the blink recharge and overheat mechanic.
I've actually seen a really good curve billy few days ago.They are like unicorns though.Same with nurse (I even faced a legacy nurse).Which is a shame because the match was so much fun
The problem with Ruin is, that it's regression is to weak. Half the speed of what a single survivor repairs.
It's supposed to be a late game perk. But it's not strong enough for that role. Survivors can pressure the killer to easily.
For example, 2 days ago I had a match where Bubba had a great start. 3 hooks by the time the first gen was completed. Ruin up and running. Yet we could pressure him so much, that it ended with 1 kill. Even though 2 were on death hook. 2 survivors went always for the same gens on opposite ends of the map. The 2 last gens almost popped simultaneously, while he carried a survivor to the death hook.
Did he deserve that loss? Nope.
Does Ruin need a rework/buff? Yes, like all gen slowdown perks.
It could get increasingly stronger the less gens are left. Which would correlate with the original late game perk idea.

I agree. I miss this old system. I don't know why it was changed.
It was a way to "force" a certain playstyle. The VC encouraged camping. Now with emblems it's the opposite. Killers also get punished emblem wise, for using their powers.
In other words, they should rework it again.
-
@OniWantsYourMacaroni said:
Everyone agrees with that but i'm pretty sure the devs already explained that changing trophy requirements is really hard to do if the achievement is still possible (at least for sony).
It used to be easier. Much easier before they gave us emblems.

-Moris and the machine gun build was unbalanced as hell anyways
-agitation and iron grasp got nerfed and so did the ability to perma sabo all the hooks (huge buff)
-ruin is still a great slowdown perk,but you have to be more strategic now/put more effort in to make good use out of it
-Nurse and billy are still strong but just harder to play
They were as unbalanced as the time was. Pretending that killers only got buffs is just plain wrong.
Agitation and Iron Grip should still get a buff. Even if it's just in form of a progress bar. Right now it's just a wild guess (or counting the survivor grunts, which shouldn't be required).
I still ignore Ruin and pressure the killer by just holding m1.
Yeah, that's why most Nurse mains stopped playing her, after spending 250+ hours on her...
Since their nerfs I haven't seen a single good Nurse or Billy.

- Map changes have been a massive buff to killer
- Killer win rates have been steadily rising (Last stats were pre-map updates showing killer with higher win rates than survivor)
- New killers all have some strong form of anti-loop
- Ruin/Undying (Despite how weak people like to pretend this perk combo is, there's a reason why good killers can have 150+ winstreaks running it)
At the end of the day, I would say that DBD is relatively balanced. The reason why it might not seem so is because DBD rewards players that are good due to broken matchmaking. I can't think of another PvP game where you can win 100+ times in a row, no matter how good you are. Especially on killer where you don't have to worry about teammates weighing you down.
- I'd take those kill rates with a grain of salt. Why? Because survivors just love to suicide when they face a killer they don't like.
- But how strong are those anti loop mechanics of those new killers? Mendslinger can hit a survivor 4 times before downing him. Blight will glide off surfaces that should let him bump. (Also his power is useless on small loops). Pizza heads power is easy to avoid unless you're animation locked. Twins are so weak, their only tactic is slugging.
- what's supposed to be strong about Undying Ruin? Just ignore it and hold m1. It's not like it affects survivors that work on a gen.
-
@OniWantsYourMacaroni said:
I'm not gonna read this horrible wall of text but rather answer your title.
You have to know,DbD used to be in an absolutely horrible state for killer.
-Maps had a HUGE amount of pallets
-God windows on a lot of maps were a thing.You had to play trapper in order to somewhat counter them or else you would never catch survivors
-You could run various exhaustion perks together because they had their own cooldown
-There were addons that were able to instantly heal 1 or even 2 health states
-Brand New Parts used to instantly complete a gen
etc.
Those and many other things are now fixed/removed from the game.Killers also got a lot of different buffs aswell over the years.
So that's why playing killer is waaaay easier than it used to be
You kinda forgot the hard nerfs killers received in all this time.
- moris could kill a survivor without hook requirement.
- machine gun build existed.
- killers could carry a survivor over the whole map with Iron Grip and Agitation.
- Ruin was actually useful for slowing down the gens.
- Nurse and Billy were powerful. Not whatever it is, they're now.

Straight to the point, I like it!
It´s as survivor sided as it gets. I play solo and unless i get a team of afking or suiciding heroes, i usually get a similar amount of points as the killer. Hell, yesterday i even got a double pip without escaping.
Killers have tons of gen slowdown perk. Where one is worse than the other. There is not a single killer perk, that is a powerful as DS, BT or Unbreakable.
Totem spawns have been made more obvious, because apparently Undying Ruin was to unenjoyable for survivors. Now i see totems next to gens or in front of hills, when they used to be more hidden.
Or lets talk about the DS "nerf" history. It used to work on the first pick up animation. Killers adapted by dribbling survivors to the hook. Survivors complained, so the amount of times a killer could drop a survivor was reduced. Killers adapted by equiping Enduring. Survivors complained and it was nerfed, so it doesn´t reduce the DS stun. Because that also didn´t work as expected, they changed DS to be usable after a hook. The 2 killer nerfs that came before, were not reverted, because reasons.
Or BT. It used to protect both the unhooking + the unhooked survivor. But only once. Devs "nerfed" it by removing the protection for the unhooking survivor. To compensate, they also removed the one time use limit.
-
@Sluzzy said:
All you have to do is look at the killrates for your answer. Never ask an individual main. Proof: Freddy, for example, has almost an 80% killrate and that factors in hatch escapes. If you remove the hatch, he would have almost a 100% winrate.
Proof: The game is extremely killer sided.
The nerf Pig and buff Nurse stats? Sure! Those look really accurate...
Anyway, i can´t wait for the new stats. Without moris. Because moris obviously had such a strong impact, that they required a nerf. So the kill stats must be way different now.

You just listed two problems with the game. One of them got solved. You say its not healthy that one of the issues with the game is gone just because the other has not been done yet. Emphasis on yet. That doesn't make a lick of sense. In no reality is it better to have two problems in the game rather than just one.
If they had no intention to fix keys then I'd understand your point. But they both don't need to be done at the same time for it to be better for the game.
They needed to fix both problems at the same time. Why? Because saying that they will fix it eventually could mean that it takes 2 years before they come up with a key change. Or maybe they hope, that in time the community forgets about the key changes, and they simply don´t do any at all. Because its to complicated or whatever.
-
Yes

@Dwight_Fairfield said:

That makes no sense. If something that was bad for the game got changed then it was a healthy change. Just because it didn't happen at the same time as the key change doesn't make it any less good.
A good change is a good change.
Keys end matches prematurly.
Moris end matches prematurly.
The issue that matches end to soon only got "solved" for one side. Not the other. Thats why it wasn´t a healthy change.

I felt the same when they released the nerf but someone said that why should they keep something broken in the game when they can change it now.
If they can fix something that's broken then they should do it. No point holding it off.
Moris existed for 4 years. Why the sudden rush? It´s not like the forums were full of threads to nerf moris.

Killers should get buffs because their broken offering got nerfed?
Obviously the kill rate would be much lower without moris. So killers would require a buff.
-
@Dwight_Fairfield said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1833275#Comment_1833275
Why should they do that. Any healthy change that can be done should be done. No need to delay it.
Wasn´t a healthy change if only one side of the same coin gets adressed.
-
@CashelP14 said:
Both keys and moris are broken and needed nerfed.
Thing is keys require a full rework whereas mori's just needed 1 value changed.
Then they could have delayed the mori nerf until they are ready for both.

@Customapple0 said:
So what if they are useless now? At least they don’t promote unhealthy gameplay & give near enough free wins like they used to.
Then we'll see killer buffs in the near future, yes?

"Attack one then go for someone else"
That's the worst possible thing right now. I don't know if you've played recently, but healing is very in vogue right now. Freddy would never get a down. You're thinking of Freddy in the 2018 meta.
It would still work with the aura reading and the heal speed.
-
Killers slug in order to slowdown the game, because they are desperate.
Now, when it's the only playstyle is, a killer has. Then that killer needs a buff. Not a nerf.
-
@TransverseCaster said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1833232#Comment_1833232
I don't believe that. That's just stupid. It sucks all the joy out of playing him.
No, that made him unique. Hit&run attacks. Attack one then go for someone else, and when the first survivor feels safe enough to heal, go back for the down.
Keeping all 4 survivors asleep was challenging but also very rewarding. I would know. I was one of the few Freddy mains.
-
@TransverseCaster said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1833223#Comment_1833223
That sounds like a terrible idea.
Why? It's what Freddy mains asked for before his rework.
-
@Bugcats said:
Victor is actually so strong; he's so fast and literally impossible to dodge when playing against anyone competent.
His slugging ability is stronger than nurse and it's a pain in the arse to play against; especially when the killer can spawn him back in like 2 seconds with add-ons.
Nerf?
Are you complaining about victor or slugging?
Because once more people realize that the killer isn't strong, but slugging is... well...
-
Revert the rework. Let him put survivors manually to sleep. No false pallets, no blood puddles, no gen teleporting.
But, let him interact with survivors that hold a action button. So he isn't defenseless against survivors cleansing a totem or healing others.
-
People are mad, because moris and keys are 2 sides of the same coin. Nerfing 1 without the other was a terrible idea. Especially since it came out of nowhere and people couldn't use their stockpiles of moris before the nerf. Just like survivors now are all using their keys.
Also, when they turned moris almost useless, make them at least base kit. So people don't have to spend 7k bloodpoints to get a animation.
-
@VikingWilson said:
What are your suggestions for Freddy, then?
You see, the problem is, if they do some "minor addon reworks" like they did with Nurse and Billy, then his popularity will significantly drop.
I personally would prefer if they reverted their overhaul and gave some small adjustments to the old Freddy. Things like being able to interact with survivors that are holding m1 for example.

Or that he is so insanely easy to play.
I can probably teach my cat to play him. And once she got her first 4K, she decides to chase after her tail again, because Freddy was too boring for her to play with.
Get another cat. So it isn't lonely and has someone to play with.
-
Aaaand this explains his artificially high kill rate.

@Shirokinukatsukami said:
Terrible idea.
Makes gen defense way too easy even without perks. You could setup a three gen strategy this way effortlessly and still devote 4 perks to something else.
Killer can't set up 3 gen.
It's the survivors that do this to themselves.

They've never given those out for free, it would have been a pleasant surprise. But expecting even a minimum amount of effort or generosity from BHVR is basically asking to be disappointed.
It would have been a nice gesture after well the Halloween "event" and chapter 18.

Not saying the OP is wrong, but it really depends on the killer and on how he is playing.
Playing super sweaty, tunnel and dont give a ######### about anything.. thats normally really ez 4k. But if the killer tries to play "friendly" and try to get as many hooks as possible... well its a different story then.
Playing sweaty and ez.
Mmmkay

I have to admit I expected a little more for Christmas.
Maybe even some auric cells or something like that.

Undying+Ruin = easy 4k
pay to win Freddy+tinkerer= easy 4k
spirit = 4k if you are more than 5 years old and have 2 braincells
bad killer + noed = easy 2/3k
camper against solos = easy 4k
tunnelers against solos = 4k
3k + slugging for the 4k = 4k
killers don’t need to find survs, they have dozens of perks, hitting survs is easier with new killers, map reworks are so killer sided, totems are more difficult to find.
I have more than 3.000 hours and this game is so killer sided I can’t imagine why surv play as solos
So I take it, you are one of those few killer mains, that are still running the show, yes? We need more killers, and I really hope more survivor mains follow your example and start playing killer!
Side effect: shorter queues.
-
Of course survivors get punished by bad plays. But then they have their safety net of BT, DS, Unbreakable and let's not forget 3 other teammates.
A survivor mistake never weighs as much as a killer mistake.

Survivor is easier - Keep in mind that playing survivor is always the same. Its like mastering a single killer. If you only play for example Huntress for years straight, Huntress becomes also easy. We have now over 20 killers and you basicly have to learn every single one of them. That makes killer in general harder. So i have to disagree to a certain degree here.
More relaxing - 100% true
More rewarding - Dont know about that, i find them equaly rewarding, but i guess this is also a question of taste
More points - As a killer i have most games more points then the best survivor (pointwise)
Killer is just not an enjoyable experience anymore. At least for me. Even when I p3 half the killer roster with all perks unlocked.
And I doubt I'm the only one. I noticed that as survivor I can easily equal the points of the killer.
-
Remember how ruin was nerfed, because it was a unpleasant experience for new players?
And that was just a perk that turned skill checks red...
I really wonder what the devs think about this new player experience.

I am not talking about the average Nurse you run into, i am talking about a really good nurse. I doubt anybody, even so called pro players are able to defeate a really strong nurse when they are not in a group. And even in a group, its very hard to pull off.
I am not a god tier nurse by any means, but even i won most of my games with her. But watching really strong nurse players having 200+ 4ks in a row while they barly loose more then 1 gen on average per game is a good sign, that this killer is still way to powerful.
Be free to confince us otherwise somehow, but without any proof, i call your bluff for now.
I havent seen a really good nurse in over a year. But sure.

I guess you should take some agro a lot earlier. Then it might be zero dead. One on each exit gate, with plenty of time to coordinate a save.
"I died on my first hook" is the cry of a player that doesn't have a simple grasp of how the game works.
Oh I take aggro. But smart killers lose interest pretty quickly.
Unlike my teammates that waste the God pallet and go down in 30 seconds.

Play 10 games in a row as solo survivor against one of these 5000 hour Nurse Mains and say that again.😂
With pleasure. I learned to play against omniblink nurses. Now the 2 blink version is just laughable to play against.
-
@MadLordJack said:
So, the game should be a miserable slog where no-one wants to play anything but killer because there's no way to win as survivor?
Well right now it´s the other way around. No one wants to play as killer. Its a mystery on why. Since killers are "so OP".
-
Usually the matches go so: 1 surv dead, 1 injured on the gate, 1 on the hook and me who hasn´t been hooked once. Now i go for the rescue with BT, even body block so the other can escape. I get hooked an expect the other 2 guys to heal each other and rescue me.
Instead i see how they teabag the killer at the exit gate and both leave me to die.
So, i´m officially thinking about leaving in this situation. Since the others won´t bother to rescue me anyway.
-
You just rush gens like usually. When he downs someone, hide in a locker. When the gen is at 70% you keep looking around and are extra careful.
-
I wouldn´t be surprised if the devs nerfed the pig.
Since she has a high kill rate.
