Is it counterable though? Please inform me how with a futuristic perspective where Xenos can now aim and are patient.
The Killer released 3 days ago. Give it a couple more days. Someone will make a guide.
Btw. use turrets!

Idk much about Resi Evil, so I can't say much anout Birkin, but even I knew who Nemesis and Wesker were before the chapters came out. I'd say they chose good characters to make actual killers out of. Actual Resi Evil fans might disagree with me, idk.
Crypt TV is relatively small, compared to the other licenses we've got. Predator is a pop icon, and has been since the 80's. If BHVR were dumb enough to make him a skin only, I'd eat my PC tower.
No one believed BHVR would release a 3 gen killer, right after saying that the want to get away from 3 genning.
Would Predator be a terrible skin? Absolutely!
But that doesn´t change that BHVR sometimes makes weird decisions. Just saying. So i really hope Predator is a real killer and not just a skin.

Huntress is 4.4 killer.
Huntress is getting even slower when she hold hatchet.
Huntress is giving clear information when she is using her power.
Non of them is correct for Xeno.
As i said above. At the distance at which the Alien can hit, her movement speed makes no difference. She can wind up faster.

There is no feasible way they would make Predator just a skin. It's the godamn Predator.
More so, the Predators have such a wide array of tech they could feasibly make the power anything. Stealth killer, ranged killer... Predator has a lot of options other than just tracking drones.
On topic, I think the chance is pretty high. They said it was a "Big L" and I personally consider Predator to be a pretty big L license, and with both getting the Alien partnership and the grid skin, I'd say his chances are good. Not 100%, for all we know it's finally Candyman, but I think Predator has a pretty good shot now. The movies skew a bit more towards action most of the time, but at the same time so do a lot of the Alien movies.
We have William Birkin and Crypt TV as skins instead of real killers. So... who knows.
-
I´m happy if Predator is really a new killer and not just a Skin for Skull Merchant.

A good Huntress is overwhelming and OP, but she has actual drawbacks. She's 4.4, there are visual and audio cues for the hatchets so they're potentially easier to avoid, she has to wind up a hatchet, which slows her down even more, she can run out of hatchets and has to leave chase to get more, and you can duck under a hatchet.
Window baiting and turrets aren't going to work against Xeno unless you're in a coordinated SWF. We've had years now to learn on semi ranged killers to just wait until the vault animation starts.
The only thing that works against Xeno is to get as much distance as you can, hope they follow you across the map, and hope your teammates are slamming gens.
Nah, there is more that works.
See posts above.

to be fair though, huntress is a 4.4 killer. In order to make her up to 4.6 (with add-ons), she has to not have hatchets - so in other words, she's balanced around either being able to hit over pallets or being 4.6. Xeno gets both
Which doesn´t matter in that specific close encounter szenario. When she is at the range the Alien would require, the speed difference is meaningless. Only thing that counts is the windup time. Which is quicker than the Alien.

Uh, yeah, I still see complaints about Sadako. She's still pretty nuts and at the very least, is an absolutely miserable Killer to play against. They just took the old Condemned strat and made jt basekit, for all intents and purposes.
I didn't say the tail attack was uncounterable, I said that I thought it was unreactable.
Really? I haven´t seen a Sadako thread in over a week. Sadako herself also seems to be quite rare. I´ve faced 2 in 2 weeks.
Just had a match as Alien where a Leon reacted pretty well to my Tail attacks. So not everything is lost. People are adapting.
-
@Pulsar said:
You cannot react to a Xeno tail attack, iirc. Likewise, his missed attack cooldown speed allows him to spam the ability without losing much distance.
Fun fact: Huntress can spam her power faster. Especially with addons. Yet no one complains or finds her overwhelming OP.
I mean, seriously. In the thread before this, someone complained about encountering wesker 5 times in a row. Alien hasn´t even been out for a week. Yet people ask for nerfs before anyone can even learn to play as or against Alien. Its almost like people don´t want more viable killers. But prefer to have the next push over killer, in order to complain about the 3 meta killers ad nauseum.
So far there are no "watch me get xxx streak kills on Alien" or "with this combo, Alien is unstoppable" video from the content creators. Mayyyybe the tail attack isn´t as uncountable as people claim.
Just give people time to adapt. Or do you see Complaints about Sadako? Remember the killer that got a rework and everyone predicted that she would be the most unstoppable killer? Since some even called her a S-Tier killer?

I understand what you say, but we must face a fact, the game is not fun at this point, mostly at least.
Yes, this is attitude.
Or do you expect killers to dc, when they encounter the same 3 perks every match? Of course not. That would be ridiculous.

@mikewelk said:
You do realize baiting windows/vaults wont work forever? Once Xeno mains get better at aiming and more patient, you'll notice that it doesn't work anymore. Also, turrets are tragically weak in solo queue. You cannot dodge his attack, you need to predict because there's not enough time to dodge, yes the maths was done. With no sound cue or animation, it becomes a pain.
Conclusion: If this happens and that happens then the other thing probably won´t work anymore.

I swear, it's either:
Vault Pallet: Tail Attacked.
Juke Pallet: M1ed due to no slowdown after a missed tail, or just Xeno anticipating a juke.

Have you ever played against Nemesis or Huntress? Their cooldowns after a missed hit are shorter. Especially Huntress with addons.

Not siding with anyone. But innocent until proven guilty should still count. I mean, we had a couple of cases were people got accused. Mob mentality kicked in. Everyone "knew" that person was guilty. Only to turn out, that it was all false.

It's more likely to be like this: "MFT was hot topic last months, so we decided to reduce endurance effect to 6 seconds. We keep looking at this perk and waiting for your feedback to maybe actually solve issues with this perk in another year or two."
Why not both? Since they nerfed the endurance effect, they´d have to compensate by increasing the Haste bonus.

• Desthslinger bullet addon, aiming speed increased from 1% to 1,1%
Sounds a bit OP. Maybe if they also add a negative effect like 50%lower bullet speed.
-
I can already see the "we have heard you loud and clear! Haste bonus of MfT changed from 3% to 5%."
-
Now that we got the Alien, a killer who can walk on all 4 legs. I´d like to have a Licker from RE as killer.
-
- Made for This: Changed the Haste effect from 3% to 5% to make up for Rapid Brutality.
- Rapid Butality: Changed the status effect from 8/9/10 seconds to 3/4/5 seconds.
- Chemical Trap: Changed the slowdown from 50% to 90% for 10 seconds (was 4 seconds).
- Save the Best for Last: Attacking anything BUT your Obsession will make you lose 4/3/2 stacks.
- Decisive Strike: Repairing a gen doesn´t count as Conspicuous Action anymore.
-
Just change the Tar Bottle. No one needs darker traps, since maps are much lighter than originally designed. Change the addon to create map specific rubble around the trap.
Also change the base color of traps to the second most used color on the map.

This is different. Also, DBD was free to play this weekend. So those were just a lot of new survivors trying to play the game.
I'm speaking on the fact that this has been going on since Knight was released. It's a very easy strat because of how their kit is set up + how the layout of certain maps is.
I don't have an issue with a killer 3-gening when it happens naturally, what I do have an issue with is the rise in gamers that start the game with a build to do that from the get-go. I even went against a Blight ffs that was doing that, A BLIGHT? Why would you as a high-mobility, with one of the best anti-looping powers, feel the need to go for 3-genning?? It makes absolutely no sense to me.

Surely, after 7 years you must have a timeline? If I'm the devs, this line always creates a problem. Many people say they need to radically change their game. However, they've had an extremely successful 7 years which is rare in the video game industry. If I was in their shoes, I'd be very hesitant to enact any type of substantial change, even if I as a player have a few I'd want.
Gen rushAs long as the game is survivor escape, the goal of survivors will be to do it as quickly as possible.
Map imbalanceVery different killers and a desire for variability make map imbalance an inevitability. Everyone agrees about map imbalance, but people disagree about how. This is something they address, but its not going to ever have a perfect solution.
TunnelingAs long as it is an elimination game, tunneling will be the strongest tactic. I think they could make the off the hook speed boost longer, especially for early hooked survivors, but its always going to be part of the game.
CampingI believe the roadmap for this is fall.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3525855#Comment_3525855
Thing is, if we're talking DbD 2, we need to throw out all our presumptions about what that game would be. Who knows if they'd even keep the hook/generator mechanic or go for a different idea.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3525568#Comment_3525568
TournamentsGiven the variability in region and playstyles (SWF vs soloq), this would be a really hard thing to give preference to.
Gen slowdownI didn't think the total nerf of the perks was really needed, but with the existence of SM and Knight these have to be out of the game. Also, never really prevented the other game problems.
Hook timerI'd take it, but would worry it wouldn't put enough pressure on survivors to actually get an unhook.
Different health stateProbably too complicated a mechanic to address tunneling.
Secondary objectiveIt might be more interesting, but you're also adding more randomness/map knowledge into the game. Finding generators can already be annoying on certain maps, add in the prospect of having to search for a gas can and the game very well might come down to whether the survivors guessed right or not on where to look first.
I'd try it, I think this could work, but I also think it creates a lot more problems than most people anticipate.
Instant DeathKeeping people in the game longer than they want to be is unlikely to be a workable solution. I think they should just make it easier for people who are on a hook to leave, but be replaced with a bot instead of dead.
Last second switchingAgreed on this, silly that its in the game.
Tournaments: regional tournaments shouldn´t be a problem at all. Some streamers have been holding them on a regular base for quite some time. Usually heavily restricted. I´d say make official ones without restrictions. See what both sides actually are capable off. Playstyles might vary depending on the region, but this shouldn´t be a problem as perks usually also get buffed/nerfed based on global stats. Otherwith SC wouldn´t be still in the top 10 most used perks.
Gen slowdown: apples and oranges. You can´t base such a decision only because we have 1 problematic killer. SM needs a rework. But that isn´t a problem of the slowdown perks. Since she is just as annoying without slowdown.
Hook Timer: everything proposed is meant to be used in combination. Fine tuning can happen afterwards. But the pressure is meant to come from the slowdown perks and the secondary objective.
Different health state: people understood quite quickly the 1 second immunity after unhook. Just turn the basekit BT timer into a different health state. Maybe something without collision. So people stop abusing the mechanic to body block like they do now.
Secondary Objective: this opens up a whole new meta of items and perks. They could introduce gas cans as items you bring from the lobby. You could find the parts or gas cans easier with the map (which currently has little usage). Devs could test this on grand scale during a prolonged event.
Instant Death: thats what the dc button is for. You´re not having fun? No problem! Just leave, the rest can continue to play normally. The dc penalty keeps getting larger and larger? Maybe its time for a break. Everyone who isn´t enjoying the game should take a break from dbd from time to time. After a couple of months the game might be enjoyable again. Better than ruining the games for everyone else.
-
The amount of survivors that accidentally 3 genned themselfes during the weekend was really astonishing. Like cool, you finished 4 gens while i only got 2 hooks. Now the last 3 gens are all next to each other *claps slowly*
-
The only thing that can kill DbD is DbD itself.

Low reward? Based on what? You have much higher win potential than an average survivor player simply due to not having bad teammates to drag you down. My killer win rate is over 80% despite me being a survivor main who isn't even amazing at killer. There's a reason why killers achieve much higher win streaks than survivors. You also get significantly more in game rewards. It sounds like killer just isn't fun for you personally.
The "You also get significantly more in game rewards" made me chuckle. I wonder why.
Fact is, we have a lot of toxic behavior on both sides and whenever someone doesn´t play toxic or is simply new. The other side usually capitalizes on it and starts to bully. Which then creates a viscious circle of toxic behavior for the next matches. Doesn´t even matter who won.
Last night, after a pretty balanced match, where all survivors ended up with 10-11k bloodpoints. One of them left a message about my mother and domestic violence on my profile. No tunneling or no camping from my side. Just because they lost.
-
Have you considered playing the side with the 100% bonus? Instant lobby!

Not a single one of these ideas STOPS a bubba from standing in front of a hook and downing 2 survivors. None of them stops a Wesker from tunneling off the hook either.
Just like you add a secondary objective that survivors HAVE to do to escape, you have to give Killers a secondary objective that HAS to be done before they can hook and and re-hook someone. Maybe make some kind of hook preparation that needs to be done between hooks of the same survivor.
Camping is easy to solve....*Killer within 15m of hook+no survivor within 5m of hook=no hook progress* (disabled during EGC of course). Move away to start hook progress.
Devs just doesn't want to commit to a "no camping as part of normal play" policy though. Even though, someone progressing the game by NOT actively playing the game should not be possible. Imagine a survivor perk that lets gens keep progressing, just because a survivor is hanging out near it. Survivor does a nearby totem (gen progresses); healing near the gen while it progresses.
And it's not even a perk for killers to do this. It's built in gameplay that has existed (and been abused) since the games creation.
None? Double hook time? Thats 4 minutes till death. More than enough for 3 survivors to finish all gens. Also, I mentioned another health state off the hook. Combine that with OtR or any other Endurance perk and you get 3 health states off the hook. Solving effectively camping and tunneling.

It changed after BHVR said he was gay (and his chances of getting cosmetics dropped with his popularity). I remember getting one or two David every game before that, now I see him probably as much as Jane, which is to say quite rarely. Maybe the DH nerf also have something to do with it, but most people don't play characters because of their teachables.
Mmhhh now that you say it. I used to be a Jane main, but since that new sporty outfit for Mikaela released, i kinda only played Mikaela.
Skins really matter. If i wouldn´t find Fengs screams so annoying (especially the volume) i would probably play Feng. Since she has no shortage on new skins.
-
Some people forget that this is just a game.
Play the game like you want and ignore the survivor rulebook for killers.
-
Hook everyone twice, have some chases where they stun you with pallets and let them go?
Thats what i would do in this situation.
-
My solution would be:
- regular official Tournaments. Balance around the outcome to see how busted some perk/addon combinations are.
- reverse the gen slowdown perk nerfs. A killer who is busy running around kicking gens, is a killer who doesn´t stand in front of the hook.
- double the time a survivor can stay on the hook. Less incentives to admire survivor cosmetics from close up as killer.
- introduce a different health state for freshly unhooked survivors. 5 times endurance stacking was OP. But OtR should give a different health state than the basekit BT.
- introduce another secondary objective for survivors. Like gas cans that have to be collected and refilled in order to power a gen. Parts that are required for the repair. Make this part of the game more interesting instead of just holding m1.
- remove the instant death if a survivor fails the struggle phase skill checks. Even better, make it a mini game that rewards additional bloodpoints for succeeding in the case of a prolonged basement show with Bubba.
- remove last second switching. Survivors should log their build at least 30 seconds before the timer runs out. Or even better, take the build from the pre lobby screen. No more wasting the full 60 seconds.
- buff the basekit/addons of the lower tier killers. Build up on their unique playstyles and allow for different playstyles based on addons. Like Myers or Hag. So we see more variety across the board and don´t have 50 shades of Wesker.
-
Early morning 100% survivor. Then around the middle of the day it switches to 100% killer with a occasional swing to 25% survivor at the evening. But most of the time its 100% killer.
-
I still won´t use it without the bonus bloodpoints.
Same for WGLF.

Not knowing what you can bounce off of and can't is normal gameplay of learning Blight. Knowing you are supposed to bounce and intentionally sliding instead is the bug they are abusing. It was a bug that was introduced when they changed Blight's camera from crotch height to normal height (there are multiple checks, 1 is tied to the Killer POV camera). Technically they could fix the bug overnight by putting his camera back to crotch height, but I can understand not doing that.
Myers: No offense, but last time you said you were crossmap chasing someone else, which would take ~20s to reach, not including kicking pallets/gens near the hook. She couldn't have 60s on the timer AND you be crossmap. Again, that also doesn't change the potential for the other 2 Survs to be worse than a bot and refuse to unhook. For all you know they were tbagging at her hook and that's why she did it.
She immediatly started to suicide. Right after i put her on the hook. While i went somewhere else. I hooked, then moved in the hope to get another down on the same evil within 3.

It is very annoying that you can't access the old posts directly anymore but I think I found the old post with the killrates https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/346830/stats-6-1-0-in-review#latest and the october follow-up: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/350586/stats-kill-rate-by-killer-and-mmr-september-2022
In those posts they say about the kill rate: "Before the 6.1.0 Update, we found Killers to be a little lacking. As a result, we introduced several change [...] The result of these changes: The average kill rate (percentage of all Survivors killed) rose by about 8%. This leaves Killers- on average- within a range that we’re comfortable with, making them deadly, but not oppressive." and "At the time, we stated that one of the main objectives behind the meta-shifting perk overhaul and base gameplay changes was to improve the overall kill rate [...], we did achieve that goal and as you’ll see in the below graphs, the kill rate continues to hover around the 59% to 61% range (up from a 51% to 53% range)."
I might be pedantic, but to me being happy with a 61% kill rate and having an 61% kill rate as goal are not the same thing and I can't see a "61% is the kill rate we want to achieve"-statement in these posts.
Well they were not happy with the 53% range, which led to the whole killer buff across the board. But are happy with the 59-61% range. Since there have been no changes to the killer base kits since then, it seems like happy = aimed goal.
And yes, its extremely annoying that old posts are deleted. It would be so nice to look up old statements, patch notes, dev blogs, etc.

Bug Abuse: Blight mains call the bug exploit of facesliding to intentionally not bump when they are supposed to bump, "Hugtech". I call it the simple rhyming play on words "Bugtech", to make it clear that they are abusing a bug. That, to my knowledge, is the most common bug that can be visible in 30s of a match.
Daily Myers match: It sounds like to me, the Meg saw her team not gearing up for the rescue like my comical assertion that "the other 2 teammates are pressing 2 in the corner with each other having never touched gens", and saw only Ace actually playing the game. Ace's Kobes make sense given it is essentially a 3v1 at 5 gens. Again, not changing the outcome of the match, just fasttracking to the conclusion.
Otz clip: How many matches of that stream didn't have a DC/Kobe when it didn't affect the outcome? That's what I mean by negativity bias, and how we all need to be aware of it to ensure we don't see 1 thing and conclude that for all matches.
Not sure if thats intended. I´m not a blight main, but whenever i played blight, i accidentally drifted, when i wanted to bump. No tech involved.
Thats no reason to suicide on the first hook at 5 gens. She had full 2 minutes on that hook. More than enough time to come even from the furthest spot on the map.
Cant say, as i just saw the compilation. But i see quite the amount of survivors dc/suicide in my matches. Doesn´t matter what role i play. Can´t say stats, but its way higher than 5%

she already had one of the highest killrates, but if you balance off killrates nurse would need to be buffed (this was i believe before she got her add ons nerfed and her blinks were still m1, maybe this was just after the nerf instead) and in terms off killrates here freddy/pig are also some off the killers with higher killrates. Even killers like myers and legion are high in terms of killrate.
Devs aim at a kill rate of 62%. So this is below the desired kill rate percentage.
