I have yet to die to a blight. I have no idea what you mean by him being strong. But Ok. He's like, the literal worst. I don't even play survivor and I beat him, constantly.

If you're not 4King with Blight you're just doing something wrong. He's actually pretty awesome. He's my 2nd favorite to nurse.

  • @KamalaGekido said:

The new patch made it so he can with his ability. I did some testing and it's just as fast as breaking it normally. I'd rather bring brutal strength. Make it faster please.

If you want to do it faster, bring Compound 33

I'm pretty sure this buff was only put in to make us not complain about the Compound 21 nerf anyhow. I'll happily take it as is.

  • @Ghoste said:

Well it's either this or Corrupt + Pop meta. Take your pick.

By the way, Map + Detective's Hunch hard counters that build.

Funny thing is, Corrupt + Pop is still stronger

I've yet to play against a killer that wasn't running Undying with Ruin and/or Haunted Grounds, NOED, Devour Hope.

I instantly laugh when I tap a generator at the start to check for Ruin, and it shows up. Boosted guy playing an easy-mode killer incoming.

Want to cleanse totems? Nah, thanks to the aura reading of Undying, the killer is coming towards me the moment he sees me on a totem.

I do and have thought since PTB that undying shouldn't show auras. Thrill of the Hunt already tells you when someone is doing a totem. Retribution gives you aura reading if someone breaks it. Both were made completely obsolete with Undying. You should have to run one of those perks if you want that on top of it.

The devs have had a weird thing with giving us killers aura stuff lately (i.e.: compound 21). I now get better location info from undying than BBQ. Needs the aura reading removed entirely and give Thrill the aura reading instead of sound notification.

*Insert counter-"argument" about DS + Unbreakable, possibly with Dead hard + BT / Adrenaline, and then say "Killers finally have a chance" and then assume that every survivor is running this build, also don't forget to complain about SWF"

assume that every survivor is running this build

-said while assuming every killer runs this build

You really didn't see the irony in that?

  • @Onyx_Blue said:

    Ruin + Undying + Tinkerer

Slap this on a killer, particularly a high mobility one, and you got yourself the most boosted player you will ever see.

These players do not know what pressure is to save their life. You can feed their build and try to cleanse totems to get rid of their perks, or you can just get a gen high progressed and lead them away, go back to it when they leave you (because they will) and bam, the player is exposed as the bot they are. The fact this is a build to vs almost every game is ridiculous. The calibre of player skill level in dbd is utter garbage XD this builds proves it to be that way.

It's really adorable to see survivors figuring out how killers have felt since 2016.

Now go back to running your DS/Unbreakable/Adrenaline/DH build.

  • I would say he's little stronger than pig, and a little weaker than pig.

  • @Mooks said:

It’s not a nerf but a bug fix. It wasn’t intended.

if it was an intended feature, survivors would just learn and adapt to the skillchecks, so nothing really lost here..

If it's been in the game for 2 years and the description implies it does it, it's a feature, not a bug.

The devs have been describing 'nerfs' as 'bug fixes' because they apparently think all killer players are #########.

  • @Murda said:

Then voice chat shouldn't be available. It would make everyone have to rely on the perks, instead of being on a different floor of a building and able to communicate what's specifically going on in another area. Perks will continue to be created to expand the game, but voice chat kills it. No need to use a certain perk if you are aware someone will tell you what you need to know.

It shouldn't but the only option is to request EAC kicking a player and refusing to launch if Discord/etc is active and let's face it they don't have the balls to do that. But even if they did, people could just use their phones if they really wanted to VC. There's no fool-proof way to stop it.

  • @Avarice10 said:

I can see you're new here, SWF communicate with voice comms programs, Devs have no control over that.

The devs need to close the gap between solo and SWF so they can effectively balance this game, proximity chat wouldn't do that. They'd have to implement a voice chat for solo lobbies or make perks like Kindred basekit for survivors, something like that.

I think they're better off adding restrictions to SWF groups than adding benefits to solo. Like the Hexy tournament rules were spot on: 4-man SWFs shouldn't be able to select the same perk more than twice. I could see maybe a nerfed version of kindred being basekit, though, so long as you are queued as solo.

  • @2LuvRias said:

So I've had this issue for awhile. I took a break from DBD for afew months, came back and now I'm getting "Reported" "for throwing because I've become that bad. How can I relearn this game? I'd say my awareness and chases are what I need to work on most.

    Fastest way to do this?

Wait 'til you get reported for doing too good.

    Just play the game.

  • @FFirebrandd said:

Not going to lie, I don't understand why people bad mouth the perk as much as they do. It is a decent perk and it is definitely not a Killer perk as some people like to claim.

Your proposed 'buff', will make proxy camping more prevalent.

"Oh Hey, I hooked that guy, but I now know if there is a non-hooked survivor in this radius, If there is, I should look for them (around the hook) instead of going any further"

That's not really camping, though. If you *know* someone is in the area, you are looking for them. That's all it is. You're looking for them. It's their fault for playing around the hook.

  • @Mandy said:

I personally don't think that Whispers needs a change in the slightest, it's already a fantastic perk.

It would be way too strong if it didn't activate on hooked survivors imo...it will just make camping even more prevalent than it is now.

I agree it doesn't need buffed to ignore hooked survivors but I don't see how you got from A to C there... If it affected camping at all - which it probably wouldn't - it'd make camping less common, because the killer would know that there is no one hiding for the unhook so they'd leave to find another survivor. Since it does pickup the survivor on the hook, the killer doesn't know if someone else is there of if it's just the hooked survivor.

  • @Maníaco_da_garrafa said:

    Remove tier 1?

No thank you. There are enough killers for sweats in this game. You can have a lot of fun on tier 1. Leave my scary mikey alone.

  • @Avarice10 said:

I've long been against nerfing perks based on SWF because balancing the game around the fabled 4man depip squads shafts the solo players. So it's my belief any balances to SWF should only affect SWF. The idea is simple, SWF will get a weakened version of their perk based on how many players are in the SWF group.

FOR EXAMPLE: Iron Will, tier 1 reduces grunts of pain by 50% and tier 3 is 100%, so now imagine that a 4man SWF will only get the level 1 tier variety of their perks, whereas 3 man SWF players will get the level 2 variety of their perks, and 2 man SWF players will keep the perk as tier 3.

Meaning games will look like this from now on:

    2man SWF tier 3 perks

    3man SWF tier 2 perks

    4man SWF tier 1 perks

TL;DR This will mean the next time Devs design a perk, they can balance tier 1 perks based around 4 man SWF, leaving tier 3 for solo or 2mans. Best of all solo players won't lose a good perk because SWF are abusing it.

I think Hexy already has the best idea... Groups should be limited on how much they can bring of the same perk. 3 man and 4 man teams should only be able to have the same perk twice.

One of the only posts that was able to stay regarding consoles were closed due to "having too much drama". Do you know how that makes me feel as a console player? It makes me feel like our issues are not cared about. I'm tired of going onto the forums and seeing this pc entitlement with everybody berating console players that clearly causes lots of drama but when we are finally heard and want change to console that was suppose to come YEARS ago, we get shut up and the post is closed. Unbelievable. This pc entitlement is annoying, the lack of actual change is annoying, and everyone's patience is running thin

I mean I've literally only ever seen "PC players bad" posts but okay

They literally gave what killers wanted, and now killers are mad.

How else did you expect to be able to practice your worse killers other than not being able to switch off? Also, all these people saying they're going to get 4 man SWFs all the time on their bad killers... No, you really won't. You only see the 4 man god squad at red ranks (or at high skill), so if you're bad at a killer, you have almost no chance of playing against that.

If I had to choose between killers having different ranks and being able to switch killers in lobby, I'll take switching killers in lobby.

It's not like it's a mutually exclusive choice. Why can't I switch anyhow and still have my matchmaking based off individual killer ranks? Is the worry that I'll search with a killer I don't use to find low-rank survivors, then switch to one I'm better at? If that was the case, why can't I at least switch to killers that are close in range to the rank of the killer I used to matchmake with?

They didn't get it fixed. They applied a bandaid fix to it, by removing certain information from that text log...while leaving other information that could still tell you who the killer is.

I thought they encrypted it now? If you open it as raw text it's a bunch of random symbols now. Something I must be missing?

The point was that Spirit is EZ mode. I'd be more impressed if you stopped a sweat-squad on Trapper or GF at 4 gens.

They removed it by making it literally useless to do.

    You lunge, they vault.

    lose lose situation.

You lunge, they vault. You walk up to the vault and vault over, they vault over the other side and are staggered by the fall or run down the ramp. Either way, you're gaining a lot of distance and you will get a hit unless there is another loop right next to it.

And most of the time, they won't notice, and you'll get the hit anyhow.

The only way for the survivor to guarantee their safety is to be running BL.

it's not a "tech" it's an exploit at this point.. it's as much a "tech" as a survivor dead hard'ing across the roof on Mother's Dwelling

No, it's not an exploit, it's a tech. Pretty obvious, too -- if they wanted to completely block it, they just would have.

The point was to force the killer to have to lunge around it to give the survivor time to react. When the killer was able to just walk onto it, they were guaranteed a hit around it. The point was never to fully prevent the killer from doing it, though.

I know it's hard to believe coming from this team, but they actually balanced it.

  • Now do it with literally any other killer. (:

  • Nah. Just quit. There's plenty of other people to play with.

######### can I do? I run DS and unbreakable and still they go out their way to ruin the fun out of this game. I am a killer main and never play that style, but it appears when ever I go and play survivor I get this sort of trash play style. Sure three survivors always survivor, but I am always the forth (no torch, no t-bag just doing gens).

Why can't you just accept defeat instead of literally face camping and then tunnelling?! It's not even funny any more.

I also have issues with certain killers who deliberately go out their way to bring in a mori when they go against me. Played the same killer three times in 48 hours and every time he will bring in a mori and joke after in chat stating he is just 'farming'.

Because unfortunately most red rank killers are boosted by camping and tunneling 1 person out then using NOED.

Hopefully when we ditch the rank system the new system will take more consideration for your ability to end chases... but I wouldn't hold my breath. Best solution is to keep yourself in purple ranks.

Why sell yourself short on a guess? Had a round just last night where we had 3 escape (including myself) against a pink mori packing Freddy. Just because they bring a mori doesn't mean they are good and you're doomed. Every now and then you get a confidence boost from being able to overcome the odds stacked against you. In fairness we were a 3 stack SWF but the random was one of us that survived it. Go solo Q :)

Sell myself short? It takes like 3 minutes to get back into another lobby...

Why? The Mori? Please. Killers don't disconnect just because we see keys or four tool kits. Grow a backbone.

Well no #########. Toolboxes are basically useless now and keys can be played around. They're not even remotely comparable to moris which are outright cancerous. I don't need to "grow a backbone" because I'm trying to play a game and have fun. There is nothing fun about playing against moris.

By the way, I main killer. If you bring a key, you're going for a hail mary. If you bring a mori, you're being a #########.

the Pallet and Window vaults (normal hits) are ok, one becomes rare dedicated hits, its worked

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcwffT0Ambg

If you DH and still get hit, you just DH'd too late. Period. DH isn't "I oopsied pls CTRL+Z mr entity". It's supposed to be hard to use. Stop being so risky with it or accept that it's not usually going to pay off if you do.

The exhaustion icon is going to show because that is happening locally. But when your client tells the server you DH'd, the server tells your client you already had been hit. This happens in milliseconds, where-as the UI update is nearly instant. Thus it's possible to show the icon as you get downed. It's really not that hard to understand. Unless you have a huge discrepancy in latency between you in the killer, you are seeing what actually happened correctly, you are just not interpreting it correctly.

The only thing hit validation does is correct for high-ping killers. If the killer doesn't have high latency, then hit validation is not considered at all. If you're still experiencing hits that appear too far away to be valid, that means you are the one that has a high latency to the server. Lag shouldn't be a magic forcefield, so this is fair.

    tl;dr: git gud scrub

  • Perks are toxic. If you don't run no mither and nothing else, I'm going to glitch you in the hill or bodyblock you in a corner until you DC and you know you ######### deserve it. Stop ruining my game.

I don't agree that most of this is toxic. Teabagging, clicking, like grow a tougher skin. But racism in chat should be taken seriously and punished seriously. But I can attest to seeing many people do this and never get reprimanded for it. Reports go straight into a trash box. The only confirmed bans for anyone on DbD is hacking in Legacy skins. Beyond that, they don't give a damn about anything.

Edit: Didn't notice this was on Xbox. Fortunately Xbox does take these issues seriously. I don't know how voice comm works with them, but if they find reason, they do ban for this.

    You clearly don't play killer.

Addressing the strength of Moris is neither a justification nor a a proper retort for the big ego banter in post-game.

A survivor who runs the aforemention build is no more or less talented than, say.. an Ultra-Rare Addon Freddy running Ebony Mori with Corrupt Intervention. Both have opted to play the game on "easy mode" and have sacrificed any high ground they may feel entitles them to talk trash.

    Turn off chat. GG EZ

Before this thread is spammed with ''do gens'' I ask you to read my post.

Let's imagine a scenario, 4 SWF vs a camping Bubba.

1- First chase ends just as the first gen is finished.

2- Bubba hooks and is facecamping, so the hooked survivor tells his teammates to rush gens.

3- A survivors takes 120 seconds on the hook to die.

4- A gens takes 80 seconds so that means 3 gens were done.

5- As the last gens is done Bubba is free again, but both NOED and Bitter Murmur activate and Bubba now has 10 seconds of aura reading plus NEOD.

This means Bubba can AT LEAST guarantee a 2k.

And this is if he goes against a really good SWF team.

Yes, all Bubbas who want to facecamp run both BM and NOED, these two aren't unusual perks to be equipped by them. Also, Monstrous Shrine and Blood Warden show up from time to time to guarantee even less time to finish gens.

What is the counter to this?

No, They don't care that they depipped

No, they don't find this boring and enjoy getting 3k-4k every match.

No, ''doing gens'' isn't the answer and you can't ''do bones'' either since there isn't enough time, and with Bitter Murmur is a guarantee 2k.

Imagine this with Solo Que? EZ 4k.

Imagine if the first chase ended early

Imagine if all 3 remaining survivors managed to finish all gens but all of them were on the last gen and NOED activates with Bitter Murmur

No need to imagine since Otz once made a stream about this and all of this happened and he got ez 4ks

    Solution?

I believe hooks should change location if Bubba is facecamlping just like Pyrimad Head, maybe if all gens are finished it then hooks don't teleport for him.

What other solutions do you think can solve this?

    do gens

  • I play killer and survivor about 80/20. When I play killer, I start to think that maybe DS should be nerfed or even reworked. Then when I play survivor, I get stuck with camping/tunnelling ghostfaces and quicky remember why that won't ever happen.

We just can't have nice things because the bad apples will ruin it for everyone. At the moment, I'd rather have to work around how it is than everyone else have to put up with those experiences.

  • True killers are stronger than most players use them seem to show. But on the other hand, Otz also kind of plays like a dick and he spends like 6-8 hours on DBD a day.

You have to learn to exactly judge distances by ear and be better than average at following visual cues like grass moving and crows, etc. Other killers use audio cues but don't normally attack based solely on them. Learning to play her at a basic level is therefore trickier than learning to play, say, Clown at a basic level since he's literally just a basic killer with gas you throw to block people off. Sure, once you've learned both Clown and Spirit I agree that Spirit is more effective than he is, but we're talking here about brand new killer players. Clown's entry level usability is definitely lower than Spirit's.

But hey, good for you being a savant who picks up everything immediately!

Not really. You don't have to be exact at all with the sound. You just have to hear them. You know they're pretty near if you hear them and you come out with a speed boost and extended lunge so it really isn't hard at all to hit someone. The key isn't skill, it's just some sort of L/R hearing like a hedset or heck, I use my phone earbuds.

The grass moving isn't subtle. All you have to do is have eyes. Especially if you play on low graphics that makes it all the more obvious.

I love when someone writes a big reply then finishes it off with a condescending remark as if that somehow makes their point any better; though, I'm pretty sure you're using the word "savant" wrong. She's not hard to learn. It doesn't take anything special. It just takes not having impaired hearing or vision. There is a reason 90%+ of the playerbase considers her easymode and overpowered.

Maybe you just have a harder time picking things up?

  • @dugman said:

Spirit is slightly harder than average to learn to only play by ear but that’s about it. Nurse is by far the hardest killer to learn in the game, it’s not even close.

Harder than average how? Learning to consistently 4k with Clown is harder. Or Legion, Pig, Wraith, Trapper, Hag, etc. The only people easier than her are Freddy, Pyramid Head and, if you already have decent FPS skills, Deathslinger.

Her skill ceiling is so low for her utility. The only things you really need to learn on her are the same tricks you learn on any other killer.

  • @Tydie said:

I'm just curious on hearing what the community thinks. I personally think spirit is a low skill and a high reward killer. On the other hand, I think nurse is high skill and high reward. I mainly think this because spirit is basically an m1 killer with an upgraded wraith cloak + hillbilly sprint combine. I also think she doesnt have much counterplay / feedback to the survivor to counter her. Whereas nurse has a completely different playstyle to learn which can take quite a lot of time to master and is not always reliable. She also has counterplay by losing line of sight and other things.

I was looking at old statistics again, and I noticed that back in November spirit, billy, and freddy had the highest kill rates and spirit was the most picked. These stats were shortly after the nurse nerf, so she was quite low on the charts: 65%. I noticed that before the nerf she was at 72% kill rate meanwhile spirit, billy, and freddy were around 75+% kill rate. Before she was nerfed she also had omega blink, extra blinks, and less limited blinks, yet she was still apparently not performing as well as the killers i listed above. Recently they slightly nerfed billy and i feel as though he is a high skill and high reward killer as well. So i'm just curious why a killer like spirit is not getting a nerf or "rework" when apparently she is overperforming. Also, if they are not using statistics to adjust and balance then what are they using.

I'm just curious what you guys think.

    Stats:

    No.

    Nurse takes skill.

    Spirit takes headsets.

I know this is a hot topic that surrounds characters like Slinger, but honestly his power usage comes at a great cost, which is that if he messes up, he has to reload.

To demonstrate, I was playing a match just now where I would have gone down in a dead zone had it not been for me reading his fake shot, AND then being quick at turning with his actual shot.

    https://media3.giphy.com/media/ekekCqx15mjMYebktE/giphy.gif

    https://media1.giphy.com/media/kz1DTAR2HsC89zR9ZI/giphy.gif

I am not saying in certain situations he isn't almost too strong, but I think much of the complaints come from how misunderstood his power is. I rarely play as him as killer, but even I know that you can still dodge hits even when there are no LoS blockers.

    This is just my opinion.

Problem is he has to miss.

I love playing Deathslinger because, well, gun. But I consistently land my shots so I can feel how overpowered I am while playing him. He is so much less challenging than playing Huntress, it almost feels like playing two different games. I've also been on the other side, playing against a competent deathslinger. There really is little to no counterplay. He needs nerfed.

i.e. in the first image you post the Deathslinger could have very easily gotten you. He could have just continued faking shots so you'd have to continue dodging, letting him catch up, or he could have just taken an extra half-second to aim and hit you. Instead, he did what only bad slingers do: let his knee-jerk reflexes take the wheel. Everyone 1v1 shouldn't depend entirely on whether or not the killer makes a mistake and absolutely nothing else, which is the case with Deathslinger.
