This is a little melodramatic but I'll agree I've learned my lesson about buying new characters right away. They definitely have a "habit" of releasing new characters with really strong perks just to nerf them in a month or two, which just coincidentally happens to be after most people who would buy the DLC has bought it...
-
You're right.
Dead Hard is the strongest killer perk in the game.

Blendettes. I used to just mori them but now I can't even be bothered - also I can't mori them as survivor
I dress up in P3 bubba except with the Claudette mask and Insidious camp blendettes, and just the blendettes. You gotta beat them at their own game.
-
The 3 changes I really want to see are not working if you're taken out of a locker, deactivating if you recover from the dying state by yourself, and deactivating if EGC starts

Hi BHVR, have you ever thought of adding a Shrine that bans 4 perks (2/2) for a week?
This brings more variety as the players are sometimes forced to replace their meta perks and try out new builds.
How about 1/1 per week and it's always DS and NOED
-
Survivor queue times went up for me, too. From nearly instant to 3-4 minutes.

So we have a ton of white characters because, obviously. But for POC characters we have Jane, Zarina, and Ace maybe. Three... we only have three POC characters. The same is with black characters... the three black characters are, claud, Tapp and Adam. Which is even worse because we only have ONE black woman which is the most hated group of people for some reason even though they’re the prettiest on the planet. And the Tapp is a licensed character so they didn’t even take the time to design the character and choose the race so practically there’s only two. And then theirs two Asians. Come on bhvr gives us more POC! And if you have a new chapter idea and survivor who is white just change them to black. It costs no effort whatsoever
I think you're confusing Ace with Jake.
You also left out Feng and Yui.
Black people are "POC" so you're making an arbitrary line there.
If we consider original characters only, which we should since BHVR doesn't have creative control over licensed characters, we have 8 white and 6 non-white survivors. On killer side, we have 7 white and 5 non-white characters -- not including Legion, since you could count them either way.
I would say BHVR/DbD has done a pretty fair job at representation so far. There is an important difference between representation and tokenization, and you seem to be asking for the latter.

Thus punishing casual players who happen to have a friend that's good at the game
If they were casual players, they wouldn't have that high of an MMR rating separately, so the multiplier wouldn't greatly affect them. Regardless of how casual they are, they are communicating over mics which greatly rebalances the game in their favor, so it is still completely fair.

You can still do the skill check while running away, tho.

Why is that a thing? Why is killer subjected to kicking a gen for ten seconds but a survivor can cancel that kick in the killers face by touching the gen and running away?
My suggestion the moment you get on a regressing gen get a skillcheck that if you miss it (or get off it) you automatically regress the gen 2-5 percent. I know thats overcharge in a nutshell but gen tapping seriously shouldn't be here
Ya this is one thing that has always grinded my gears. A killer can't instantly break a gen, but survivors can instantly tap it? A survivor should at least have to commit for 2-3 seconds before the gen stops regressing.

Bc people want to play with friends and Killer's would dodge the lobby instant. Which means a longer queue time for swf.
I know swf is very unfair to the Killer but if this nerf would be coming more people who play survivor would be quit or play more Killer. What means longer queue for Killer as well.
There are killers who can and will take on SWFs. Just let them have it and let killers who don't want to sweat enjoy the damn game.

I thought the whole point of the overheat mechanic was just to prevent hookcamping. The previous iteration did this. :/ They basically listened to us and rebalanced him, then just decided to undo that out of no where.

I saw the twitch streams of this game for a while, i was interested so i bought the ######### game, now i hate my life, i regret of buying this game, this matchmaking is a pure shiit, i play killer and have like 1/2 common perkz only while the survivors are rank bellow 5 with lots of stuff, like in one game they had 4 flashlight each 32 sec.
i hate the game, i want payback, i didnt expect such a bulshit matchmaking.
IM NOT THAT GOOD TO PLAY AGAINST HIGH RANK SURVIVORS!!!!
cant u read the feedbacks in the forum and twitch. this game is complete mess!!!!
Matchmaking is in a bad place right now but in general you probably want to play survivor for a bit first before trying killer. At least until you have the core gameplay loop down.

Aaaand they turned them off again

Why isn't this getting any attention? They're still all locked for me. :(

It does not reset. It's a hidden number purely used for matchmaking, it's not meant to be something you grind for each month/season. Ranks will continue to reset each month and you'll be able to focus on getting those to rank 1 if you'd like, but they won't be used for matchmaking purposes anymore.
Could it at least slowly degrade? If I don't play Huntress for like 6 months, I probably don't want to come back to the same MMR rating I had then.

Based on what I've just read, this isn't a bug, just a misunderstanding. Your Devotion level isn't for playing multiple games in a row. You get a new Devotion every time you hit level 100, and then your player level resets back to 1 again and you do it all over. You apparently hit 100, gained a Devotion, and reset back to level 1 with 1 Devotion. When you get to 100 again you'll reset back to 1 and go up to Devotion 2.
The Killer tooltips is unrelated. I've seen others who've said they always get them every game, and always have.
Ditto. Check your Devotion level. You'll probably see that it's set to "1" now.

You forgot she also has the biggest weakness and easiest counter out of all the killer roster: if the survivor boops her on the snoot, they receive invulnerability for the rest of the match and a free escape.
...No but for real. This has to be a troll post. Pig is the weakest killer. Absolutely weaker than clown, and arguably weaker than legion. She can cancel her TR, sure, but it takes her so long to crouch a whole gen could be done before she does. Her lunge can end chases quick.... if it didn't announce it the second she started charging it up, and tell the survivor exactly where she was at in her charge, and if she had any visibility while crouched to charge her lunge.
Her party hats are just for memes. They do literally nothing except force a survivor to play with her jigsaw boxes for 10 or 15 seconds, one to four times a match.
-
In the PTB, I wanted this. But now I'm actually not for it.
Bubba is considerably powerful now. His power should have some skill/experience utility to it. You can get the muscle memory down on his charges and just know by reflex when you can tap the use-charge button and when you can't. If they're going to keep Bubba where he's at, I'd rather people at least need to learn to grasp that without any guiding mechanics.

You said "You will, like you probably have noticed since the change, not be able to see which killer you are facing (unless you are hacking)"
So I provided evidence that now that my Oni is locked, somehow survivors (suspiciously SWF) decided that calm spirit is meta so they're running it. 3 of them, the only ones who weren't running it were the poor solo survivors. Not suspicious at all.
You can view which killer you're facing by checking the logs. So ya.. it happens. It doesn't require "hacking". It requires opening a file with notepad. lol
The devs know about it and just haven't fixed it. They've tried to obscure the text that tells you, instead of just not having it output at all. Dunno if they'll ever give it a real fix, sadly.

I don’t see killer locks being an issue right now, time will tell.
However, the idea to have preset custom loadouts you can quick switch to I think would be beneficial, especially with the quantity of perks/add-ons/items/offerings in the game. I’d like to see this added, but for killers and survivors alike.
It's a big issue. How am I supposed to switch over to insidious Bubba when I suddenly get a TTV in my lobby now?
-
From what I interpreted from the patch notes, it'll be added at some point, but they didn't mess with the UI yet to add it for the sake of pushing it out faster.

A survivor caught out forced into a fully expanded gas cloud is reduced to moving 3.4 m/s for around 5 seconds at base.
That’s an additional 6m of distance that Clown covers on top of whatever distance that’s already being closed between Clown and the survivor.
Another way of looking at it is (when bottles are used correctly) is its like if Clown’s m/s jumps from 4.6 m/s to suddenly 5.2 m/s. Almost a sudden 3 stack PWYF for roughly 5 seconds.
Clown’s only problem is the way most players use him: they’re too focused on throwing bottles at survivors, instead of thinking about trying to get survivors running through as much of a gas cloud (or clouds) as possible.
>they’re too focused on throwing bottles at survivors, instead of thinking about trying to get survivors running through as much of a gas cloud (or clouds) as possible
This, this, so much this! This is 90% of the reason people think clown is "bad". People always throw the bottles right at the survivors instead of using them to block of loops and predicting where the survivor is going.

Killers are supposed to be 20% of the population. There is supposed to be a significant skill difference between survivor and killer players. All asymmetrical games are designed that way.
It's not the most difficult task in the world to 4k survivor groups, even premades. But it does take a lot of trial and error to get there. If you're not okay with losing several dozen games or more to "get good" and start 4king, then you just might not be in the target demographic for that 20%.
Sorry, but all us killer mains have been through the struggle ourselves. It is achievable, and I'm not bored by it.

k first is not an app but everyone believes it is, it used to be able checking the logs you had to scroll and find whatever numbers then match some you couldnt select with a list, my mate who dislikes spirits used to check them and now he coonfirmed he cant anymore. It's definitely patched.
then, I dont believe every match you play trapper there's OoO.
survivors do quick change to hide flashlights and keys so the killer dont bring franklins, this is also a common thing in SWFs.
if they already checked you before they wouldnt do it 2 times, and during the loadiing screen they dont have enough time you can see the time it takes in the frst line.
It was not removed. They just tried to obfuscate the information. But it can still be found if you know what to check for. And there is an "app". Actually, just a python function. There is a version you can run on demand to spit out the killer in the lobby and a more advanced version that will update in real time in case the killer changes it.
@BillyDied said:
So you found a way to turn the tables on them (last second switch) and make your games easier... Yet You complain? This Community... Keep last second switching and punish those who use that "app" and make your games more chill.
Sounds to me like the kind of swf nerf everyone was asking for...
Definitely shouldn't be posting links to anyone doing it. This should be an exploit that is immediately patched out, not something we should be spreading around. But it's unfortunately easy to retrieve the method if you want to do it.

If they're healthy, I couldn't tell ya'. It's a dumb move, but I see people do it a lot.
But if you're injured and you know you're going down anyway, it can buy your teammates a few more seconds to do generators. A few seconds can make the difference between the generator getting done and the killer running over there and kicking it with PGTW. You're basically choosing between going down for sure, or almost definitely going down and you stall for a couple seconds.
They do it to abuse the broken grabs. It's a hail mary move but it can commonly enough result in the killer being forced to attempt a grab instead of hitting them, which often results in them not actually getting the grab but being stuck in the animation for ~1s giving them time to get to a vault or pallet.
It's made more effective by the fact that grabbing someone who is in a locker is a different keybind/action than grabbing someone while they're entering or leaving a locker, both of which have short windows where they can be done and where the killer will usually be denied either.

This is made easier by grabbing out of lockers while they're in them and grabbing when they're entering or exiting being two different keybinds/actions, both with small windows where they can be used.

There's just too many other ways to play around flashlights. Infectious Fright is such a good perk in general and will tell you if someone is close enough to get the save. But even without it, you can just take a peek around before you pick up. I've injured and even downed so many survivors waiting to flashlight save their friend that way. And when it comes to blinding at pallets and vaults, I prefer survivors do it, because I can usually hear where they're going anyhow and they've just made the distance they could have gotten from me even smaller.
Even with the buff, I still won't run it often.

So here's the thing:
Object of Obsession, in functionality, is like planting a large "I'M OVER HERE, KILL ME!" sign with blaring red siren lights on your forehead which only the Killer can see.
Does it give you constant awareness of where the Killer is at any given moment, provided they aren't Wraith? Yes.
But that also works the other way, and any Killer who's played for longer than a few days total knows that SWFs with too much information can easily stamp them into the dirt.
What effectively happens is that the Object of Obsession user becomes a bright shiny beacon of tunnel energy to any competent Killer, because Object of Obsession is powerful as hell in the hands of a SWF.
PTSD causes a knee-jerk reaction in any experienced killer, forcing them to tunnel the Object user out of existence ASAP, or lose.
Nah it usually just means they're not doing gens and running around the map like an idiot. Just bait them and crush their team mates. Did two matches yesterday against SWFs with object. 4k'd on both.
Not trying to be a dick with the "git gud" but to some degree you just have to. The reason it works isn't because it's OP, it works because it bothers you and that distracts you, and you end up choosing the wrong plays.

Hey guys. Noob trying to improve here. I see a lot of jargon in these boards, but haven't been able to piece them all together. Can I get some explainations for these following terms?
Swf (squad with... "phone"??)[I think I am a "solo" player];
wp (typically seen as gg wp);
toxic (what this means as both survivor and killer).
Thanks guys,

SWF means pre-grouped players, usually with comms/microphones but not always
WP means well played, a rare compliment
Toxic means someone doing anything that you don't like, especially if you lost because of it

I just dodge lobbys with P3 Claudies 'cause I don't have to deal with their #########. Killers doen't have time at all to search for ######### chameleons in the map, most of the time they're crouching and if you get sligthly near them, they'll just Sprint Burst away (yeah yeah, you'll catch them eventually, but why should I spend my precious time doing this?), so, yeah... If the lobby is full of P3 Claudies and Jakes (he's a chameleon too in certain maps - looking to you Yamaoka's) I'll get my Doc. and get constant information on them, but still is a hassle.
I just run Insidious Bubba with the P3 outfit and Claudette mask.
You have to beat those blendettes at their own game.

>deathslinger doesn't have counterplay

-
You already have a lot of reasons why this is a bad idea, but it also punishes good players of other killers. Why shouldn't nurse be able to grab you off hook if she teleports right to you? What about when a killer drops from a top floor and grabs you off a hook? What about any stealth killer being a stealthy killer?
It's a firm "no" from just about any killer player.
-
Weird. TTVers are usually the easiest players I come across.
Though, I often Insidious Bubba or Mori Bubba them. For the stream, of course
-
Sprint Burst is better for not taking chases at all. If one person has sprint burst, they're going to make it as far as the match goes. Because as killer, I'm going to see you use it and move on to the easiest target. But if every single person is running sprint burst, then it's as effective as if no one was running it. Truly I can just catch up and I don't believe it will generally buy you much more time.
In that way, it's great for solo players/lone wolf style players, but less so for team players. On that note, when it comes to SWFs, usually the person focusing gens the most is the one that runs it.
Otherwise, dead hard is superior. You can bait hits, mindgame and greatly extend chases.
-
I think it's mostly fine and as a killer main I don't mind seeing it. I think it could be tweaked to be more appropriate for it's intended use.
#1 on myy wishlist for changes is that it can't be activated after the EGC has started. This is really where it's abused the most.
Second, I'd kind of like to see it also not be able to be activated if there is only one survivor left, for similar reasons. I had a match recently where there were two survivors, one with a key. I hooked the one with a key, went looking for the other. Saw them running up to unhook, downed them as they were unhooking, then downed the unhooked survivor right before they could get into the hatch. I hooked the one that unhooked and they were sacrificed, closed the hatch... then had to just wait for 60 seconds to pick up the unhooked survivor. I knew if I picked them up, I'd get DS'd and they'd use the key on the hatch. It's really unpleasant for both of us to just sit there and wait.
Third is less of an issue for me but I think it should also not apply to grabs, as BT doesn't either. I mean I always just lunge, but it's frustrating to newer killers and would discourage players from attempting to abuse it.
In return maybe it could also get a buff, like no scratch marks and maybe even no blood trails for X seconds after using it. Paired with "off the record" it would be a very strong anti-tunneling combo, but be more difficult for survivors to get "creative" with it.

Like that can not be making them anything but small change. I feel like most people either buy the tiers day one or grind it all out.
Urg its just frustrating especially when they're already selling the cosmetics for 10 bucks each AND paid dlc AND it's not even a free game!
