The only thing he needs is his 180 flick thing removed. Otherwise he's completely fine. People may cry for that.

If they remove his J-Flick, you're getting another Spirit/Freddy main on your hands. Careful what you wish for.

Tbf. they are the boosted bois,

I'm saying it in the Nicest way possible due to the fact that people hate trying to counterplay and just regular loop and hold W.

This is what makes em Unique, it needs to stay just like the oni 180s.

Oni needed his turn angle capped. The 180 let you correct yourself after you already messed up. You can still pretty much always get a down with his current flick.

Blight's is both harder to pull off and less threatening since it only injures one health-state. So it should be kept.

It does say it deactivates if you heal yourself or others.

    No it says "healing activities"

Fully agreed, Scott's on point again (can't believe the Wraith buff had to include a nerf). I'm going to go a step further and say don't even waste your shards unless trickster gets a big ole buff. You could get a cosmetic for a better killer with those shards!

That doesn't feel accurate. His buff was making Windstorm basekit, which is what you had to use to make him viable. Windstorm came with a decrease in uncloak time, so it transfered to basekit.

  • So we should all come back in about 2 years when his knives seek around corners, slow the player down when they hit, and he can do a no-fatigue nurse's blink whenever he's in his "Main Event" mode

you sound like almo saying clown is underrate.

    Trickster isn't.

When us Clown mains are saying "no, it really is that bad," BHVR just needs to shut the ######### up with "their intentions" and listen.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Imma keep em short and sweet.

Yesterday I was playing Pyramid Head. You'd expect survivors to ######### about it because, well, pyramid head, but instead they got really wholesome and called me a really good killer who's really skilled as him and I was like aww my heart <3

Playing with my new friends. You'd expect it to be me bullying newer killers (which technically it is and I feel bad, sometimes) but I've also been told I've taught everyone things, like cool looping strategies (other survivors) or how to shut down those loops (the killer). Plus I've been told that so long as I'm the one who dies the killer's happy, I'm happy because I got a good chase, and everyone's happy it's a win win.

Finally, any time I was playing with Cheers. He could make the game so so so much fun and no matter what happened it was good if he was there. This one time he stream sniped me (so I facecamped him as Bubba), other times I'd be using MOM and set me name to "Cheer's Boyfriend and Bodyguard" and do nothing but tank hits for him all game. This one Nurse ######### hated him so I'd take all the hits I could and activated mettle of man, then he was about to die at the gate so I took a MOM hit and we both escaped. Finally the one time I got off a CJ Tech when playing with him, Laura, and @MusicNerd_TC (also tagging him to make sure he does something with the thread :p). I can't remember if he was properly in the game or he was just in the stream and we were with @Respectfulnancymain, unfortunately. Hell it could've been Laura not in the game. Regardless his presence was amazing and he was amazing.

This game has some toxic awful moments. Remeber the good times.

Survivors love PH, just not when you play a certain way with him, and you know what I mean by that.

I've been complimented a few times on PH. I love going for really greasy hits with his power through walls and whatnot. And I don't use cages, partly because they just don't come that much in handy unless you're one of those killers that can only get a kill or two by straight tunnelling, but mostly because I find the Final Judgement so satisfying my whole play with him revolves around saving up to do that an "4-mori" if I can.

If I can get everyone to last hook first, even better...

  • @ShamelessPigMain said:

Rarely do I find that Off the Record actually works; when you already have DS, you hopefully aren't getting chased much anyways. But now that DS is getting dunked into dog water, should Off the Record be buffed? What would that buff constitute, to make it more than a Walmart version of Iron Will and Lucky Break?

Yes I would much prefer to go against a buffed Off the Record than Decisive Strike. It should hide blood, scratch marks, survivor noises, any of their noise notifications (except for generators or healing others, but including if someone effs up a skill check while healing them), and their aura. There's just no reason to show any of it right off the hook.

Conversely the duration should be based on how far away the killer is. With a max of 112.5s if the killer is literally on the hook with them, down to 0s (no activation) at 128 meters... that would be 90s at 32m, 45s at 64m

  • They've pretty much spelled out how it works for them already.

They are taking your feedback into consideration. They just won't act on it for 1-2 months.

As far as I see it, every killer is basically in early access when they release at this point. Just like we really didn't get Blight until this release, we won't really get Trickster for another chapter or two.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2060956#Comment_2060956

His point is that it's been less than a day since the killer joined the actual game and it's too early to adequately judge. Otz thought that Spirit would be weak when she came out, and now look at her. She gets more hate than Taylor Swift (which isn't saying much but I just wanted to get that joke off of my chest).

Shake it off, shake it off, I-, I-, I-,

    If you're on console.

PC players have already had 2 weeks of trying him out

  • @ShamelessPigMain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2060860#Comment_2060860

Well that's pretty much killing, just as how plague is a teenage madonna who got the stomach flu and vomits on people because she didn't like her church, and how Huntress is a baby-minded Russian lady who throws a tantrum like the kid at the mall who didn't get the candy they wanted when you give her a concussion with a pallet.

You're missing the important difference here:

    They can all get kills.

  • @ShamelessPigMain said:

Well he is a person who kills, so I'm very confused as to what you're talking about.

Plus, we had like three weeks of PTB with him. If you bought him only to say "I don't like that" after three weeks of decision making, it's really kind of your own fault.

    Does he tho?

I'm pretty sure he's just a guy that throws silver star stickers at survivors for doing such good jobs repairing their generators

  • No. No it doesn't. It's not "duality" when they're both agreeing with eachother.

  • @KingFrost said:

I mean then you just turn him into an M1 Killer that has no reason to ever use his knives. I think his power needs to be more powerful. Ricochet base kit would be a good start, followed by reducing the amount of knives it takes. Maybe make survivors perform an action to actually recover from knife wounds.

That's already the case. He's an M1 killer with 110% speed.

Some games that use heroes/characters throw one in that is intentionally underpowered so that players that want to torture themselves with a ridiculously hard challenge can do so. I guess Trickster is the killer for that.

  • @ArthurPadula said:

How many more of these kinds of mistakes are the devs going to make before they learn? Nerfing DS is ######### stupid. The two biggest problems in this game are tunneling and gen rushing. Why are the devs making tunneling easier for the killer? That's only going to give bad players more reason to do so.

If you are ACTUALLY getting tunnelled, DS works the same as it did before

  • So far feels like the only thing they really need to change to make his power viable is:

) He shouldn't have his movement speed reduced while throwing knives. He already can't immediately swing after and is 110%

) The accuracy toward the center of the screen should be tighter, OR the recoil should be less dramatic, OR the knife speed should be increased 1.5x - 2x

Either way, it's nice people won't be fussing about it as much. Though let's be honest, something else will be next. Well besides Keys... but almost everyone is in agreement that those need a nerf.

Count how many times you've seen it: you see someone running to the guy you hooked and you quickly close in, and they pull the dude off. You were already planning on ignoring the dude who just got unhooked, because of BT or DS or ethics or whatever and start running after the unhooker, but the unhooked guy immediately runs into your face and tries to bodyblock you.

Because we can't let that free hit go to waste, can we?

It's dumb. It's real dumb and it makes no sense. I run BT every game because in some situations that's just the only way they're ever going to make it out, even if I have to die for it, but I hate it when I see the guy I just unhooked immediately try to headbutt the killer.

I run that so he won't pay attention to you, dumbass, stop making him wonder if he should just tunnel you to death out of spite.

I say that if the hit counts as a protection hit, it ignores BT and downs them anyway. Maybe with a grace period of a second or two after the unhook, but after that, if you try to bodyblock for your buddy, eat the dirt.

It'll encourage people to split, at least.

I think it should take from it's namesake. If someone with BT gets hit, the person that gave them it gets damaged. Kind of like a remote for-the-people.

  • @GayDwight said:

I just went to the twitch page recently and saw several streamers at once using this resolution.

Let me remind you that this gives the game advantage, expanding the vertical vision, helping survivors and killers in some moments. The developers know about this and have not done anything for months (years?), Prioritizing something else, thereby encouraging unfair play.

And also let me remind you that more than 3 years since the release of the game, any player could, by editing a text file, increase the killer's red spot, remove fog, remove wall textures. Anti-cheat did not react to this in any way and the devs knew about it. How much, then, will the developers deal with a resolution that is dishonest in relation to normal players? A couple more years? I think it will say a lot.

You can say the same thing about using Discord. It gives you an in-game advantage. Why is that okay but changing your resolution isn't?

The reality is this community and the developers have set a precedent for this game. If what you're doing doesn't manipulate the PAK files and does not manipulate the game's data in memory, it is fair game.

Also, what you're asking is really arbitrary. If I buy a TV that is 4:3 to play on, is that okay, but changing my resolution to 4:3 on a screen that is natively 16:9 isn't? Why?

It doesn't even give you any real advantage on anyone but nurse, by the way. It let's you see just a few more lines vertically. That let's her mitigate the post-blink stun. It lets everyone else see more tree branches. It's a myth (and a bad understanding of basic geometry) that it lets you see better over obstacles. [Edit: I was thinking of it only from a killer perspective at first, since that's what I play. It does let survivors see further, and possibly over an object they may not have otherwise. But it's really negligible, and I'd wager a study would prove it doesn't have a meaningful impact on game results -- just like bloodlust, it's all placebo.]

Compare to being able to tell 3 other people everything you're doing and what you can see in a game designed around not being able to communicate.

I'm going to use stretched res on nurse and crosshairs on ranged killers. You're going to use comms. That's just how it's going to be, let's not pretend either of us are going to be "honorable" about it.

  • @AChaoticKiller said:

if a killer sees a survivor dead on hook they will tunnel them

also just count hooks yourself it's not that hard but i don't want a visual indicator saying "hey you should tunnel this guy so one less is in the game".

If they do change it to that i wouldn't care too much anyway but based on the fact that it counts total hooks instead i think the devs agree with that line of thinking above.

    Literally this.

If a killer isn't good enough to keep a general tab on survivors and their hook stages, then they're bad enough to think the "2 out of 3" means "tunnel the ######### out of this pheasant"

The one thing this game does not need is more incentive for shite killers to tunnel

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Good and beloved videogames tend you reward you for playing well and learning the game and predicting your opponent.

In DBD you watch the survivor, you predict their next move, you call it, then make a mistake, you feel rewarded because you predicted them and now you get a hit....but oh no wait they just press E to undo.

It's so bad. It just goes against everything that good games do. When you make a good prediction or make a good play good videogames reward you for it with success in DBD it's all nullified by a stupid perk that lets basically acts as the "undo" button in windows. Just press E and it's all magically ok.

This is such a stupid perk. I know people rag on DS and BT yadda yadda but for me this one perk stands above them all, it's the only perk that makes me lose the motivation to play and I just feel like facecamping because....why not? it's easier and less hassle than chases. Like if I'm not being rewarded for making the right moves in a chase then why bother? might as well just play hook defense. It's basically a kick in the gut for making a good play. All the other perks even current DS I can cope with but this perk really makes me only want to stick to 1 or 2 killers like spirit or PH.

Something needs to change because it can't carry on like this.

    ....

    Just wait.

Seriously, dead hard is the weakest exhaustion perk against everyone except Nurse. At best, it's on par with head-on. It doesn't help you at all in 99.9% of situations if the killer knows you have it. And if you're not an ass killer, you'll just assume the survivor does have it.

All it really does is force you to not lunge. If you get in tapping range, they're #########. And don't start with the "dead hard for distance" bullshit. That would be the 0.1% of situations. Not only do you have to be ahead of the killer already enough to get use out of it, you have to be completely out of their lunge range, too, otherwise they can just lunge into the pallet/window with your deadhard and still down you. And in that 0.1% of situations, it bought you no more time than sprint burst would have in the first place.

It's literally only meta because it's such a strong anti-nurse perk. Nurse doesn't have the option to avoid it like other killers, so it essentially gives you a third health state against her. If Nurse never existed, Dead Hard wouldn't be meta. That and there's probably a psychological aspect to it tapping a button on demand makes you feel more "involved" in using it.

If you're crying about "Dead Hard", you really do just need to get good.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/227308/pallets-saves-shouldnt-require-waiting

Friend, there was a time where pallet save timings were removed.

News flash: It was MASSIVELY hated and caused one of the biggest dips in the playerbase the game's ever had.

So no, it won't happen because it DID happen once.

It didn't cause "the biggest dip in [active players]". It just caused a lot of complaining.

I actually think the timing should be removed. It's really not hard at all to check around for people camping for a save and if you're a half-decent killer you'll never end up pallet stunned while holding a survivor anyhow. I can't even remember the last time I was. On the other hand, I've seen killers already start moving and get hit with a pallet and be invincible and it feels like complete ######### when it happens. In fact I've been on both sides of it. I've gotten cheeky hits while picking up a survivor on a pallet and managing to swing, score a hit AND not drop the survivor, and I've been picked up on pallets, had the killer start carrying me, had a survivor drop it ... and nothing.

By the way, most of the complaining was because the timing factor was also removed from flashlights. Flashlights should require the killer to be out of animation lock because they can happen anywhere and there is much less a killer could do about it. The two don't have to work the same when they're not the same.

  • BP is BP. This game has a legendary grind. Get that money, boi

Also, blinds are worth 400, not 200. And that's 400 base, it can go up 2800 depending on perks and offerings.

    Hello

Victor cannot be kicked or interacted with (except than the Survivor inside the locker) while he is on the locker. It is also full 10 sec. lower than this, is a bug. Yes we counted the 3sec wake up of the killer when we decided on the 10 sec. It might feel as a conservative value but its a new feature and was not on the PTB so we do not know how this feature will really affect the gameplay yet. If it requires a buff, we will readjust.

Also, Victor locker check was never approached as a sure grab, so its totally ok that the Survivor can still escape under certain conditions. If Survivor would know that its a 100% bad outcome, they would simply not use the locker.

Why did you revert the flashlight accuracy change? With lower base accuracy, it gave the grips an actual purpose. With it reverted, now again the only useful addons for flashlights are batteries. Why even have any other addons in the game when only batteries actually do anything for the flashlight?

PC. I've tried everything with it. From just Low to Ultra settings, to editing rendering options in the config file, to using ReShade. The best I can do is get it from "completely ######### blind" to "pretty bad".

It's unplayable and I can't believe they put it out this way. Even for BHVR this was surprising. For now I just go AFK whenever I get the map as killer. But this, out of all the ######### they've pulled, is the first that really has made me consider uninstalling this game.

  • At this point Huntress is weak, especially when compared to newer killers and post-rework killers. She's weaker than Deathslinger and weaker than Executioner. She's one of the killers people play to give themselves a challenge. If you think she needs a nerf, you really need to "git gud"

    Executioner just got nerfed. Chill.

Demo's "hitbox" isn't any bigger than when he lunges normally at you. And he's stuck in a straight line after initiating the attack. His leap is the most balanced killer attack in the game.

I kinda do this often where I hook a survivor and go for another survivor but sometimes I drop the chase because I know that someone was near the hook so I go back and look for them. Is this considered camping? I kinda felt guilty after the match lmao

Did you actually see someone run toward the hook? Then no, the survivor going for the unhook should have been less obvious.

Did you not see anyone go toward the hook and just went back because you were not sure what to do and worried about losing your kill? Then maybe yes or maybe no, depends on context.

Did you go back because you wanted to be a jerk and ruin the hooked player's fun? Then yes, absolutely.

Dbd takes 40GB on my system. Which is way too much for a game with such simple graphics, map sizes, and mechanics.

Much more complicated games like Arma3 with better animations, better graphics, better and more models, gigantic 300 square kilometres large maps actually take LESS space than Dead by Daylight does. Thats just unacceptable.

It's not actually 40GB is spot on for a game like DbD. Games take up so much space because they hardly compress their graphics anymore for the sake of performance. It's why you don't get loading screens when you open a door anymore, it's why maps are much larger, it's why the map you are in can use more than just a dozen or so unique textures.

Games have actually always been around this size. In the past devs used compression and fancy tricks with it to pack them down real small since consumer computers with the size to carry them was rare. Now that this isn't the case, as we all know 1TB drives are standard even for low-end machines, that doesn't happen anymore so game devs don't have limitations the shrinkage causes.

Also, make an option to go back to old graphics. I loved the old graphics but now I need a lamp in my room to even look around on Badham.

    @[Deleted User] said:

To be honest, 60Gb is just an average game size these days. Don't blame devs for your choice of buying computer with tiny drive.

Yeah, I hate to be rude like this but how the heck did you get a "new" computer with only 120gb? Laptops with 1TB are standard right now. I haven't heard of a computer coming with only 120GB since maybe 2005. It sounds like you have one of those "for internet use only" computers.

... Just looked it up and that is indeed what it is. You likely wouldn't even be able to run DbD on that machine as it only has an integrated graphics unit and not a dedicated GPU. That doesn't just go for DbD, it goes for almost all games, except 2D games or games like MineCraft. Fortunately it does seem to have slots accessible from underneath the machine to put in another SSD.

Sorry, but you need to get a computer that is gaming capable if you want to play games.
