Being frustrated to the point you want to make a long pause is perfectly understandable. I've done it myself years ago and kept away for several months. (I even went a step further which let to my forum account to be reset and renamed when I came back, yeah, when I'm pissed, I'm pissed.)

However, don't say you are uninstalling if you are not following through. The devs have statistics and know exactly who you are as there is a link between your forum account and your game one. (If they cared enough to check.) As for forum users, they generally don't care and not many will believe you. Getting a "see you tomorrow" reply is pretty common.

As a general rule in life, never make a threat if you will not follow through.

the only promise that i can gave is that i will likely stop playing like before... i'll probably do again a couple of matches sometimes, but it will be rare to find me on that game like before... i'm just sad that i invested all those hours in a game like that that didn't deserve it (or at least, it had the potential, but the devs messed up everything with their decisions during the years)

We already have a clear understand on the previous meta is an arm race between survivor's extended chase and killer slow down gen perk.

What I will say below is based on killer mindset that I understand, I know people sometimes are lacking emphaty toward opposing side which is normal tbh. But this is what I am trying to break down what devs are intended here for the changes. Which is to promote less camping and tunneling.

Camping and Tunneling: This is the game feature, but I believe the dev themselves never want killer to do that since it lower the interaction between killer and survivors.

    1. Playstyle: They want to do it or its their play style. Result: low pip, low mmr, less interaction with survivor.
    2. Hopelessness to get into another chase, when gens flying too fast for them to feel sure that they can chase and down another survivor before another gens pop as survivor has too many protection. Thus, they will resort to tunnel or camping.

Now, I can only say on 2nd point due to the 1st point is not a fun way to play and have some draw back as well.

For the 2nd point, this is what the new change will try to fix. Yes, the dev did not do anything or give any punishment for the camping and tunneling.

Instead, they buff the play style that give killer a sense of security of downing survivor if they see them. And also, give some sense of comeback despite gens flying in the beginning of the game.

    For Example:

    Scenario 1 Before update:

    • - Killer hooked a survivor while gens down to 2 or 3. Killer will think that cannot do anything meaningful to get into their favor as survivor has dh and do gen very fast. Result= Camping and tunneling
    • - Killer hooked a survivor, survivor team mate try to bait for killer to leave hook, Killer saw the survivor and thinking that they have dead hard and can extend chase more. Not guaranteed down. Result= Camping and tunneling

    Scenario 2 After Update:

    • - Killer hooked a survivor while gens down to 2 or 3. Killer will think the gens is longer, and they can make a comeback.
    • Cause: Longer gens time, encouraging killer to get into chase more with some sense of security
    • Result: Less Camping and tunneling
    • - Killer hooked a survivor, survivor team mate try to bait for killer to leave hook, Killer saw the survivor and thinking that they can down them in 30 sec. Leaving hook.
    • Cause: Shorter time of downing survivor, encourage to chase other survivor after hook
    • Result= Less Camping and tunneling

    With new update:

    1. Chase perk and info perk are become more valuable as you can get to chase more than before.
    2. Chasing survivor will have a higher guarantee to down them within 30 sec compare to before.
    3. Killer can have a comeback even gens flying at beginning of the game.
    4. NOED will be less desirable as end game perk has a very limited windows to begin with.

    What do you think?

i think that dbd is a lost cause and that's not worth my time anymore. This game has a TON of issues, mainly toxic people who exploit things in their favour and wrote things that normally should punished with a permaban to say the least, but after all they are paying customers, they don't have reasons to ban or limit this kind of behavior until those... "subjects"... will pay for their content. Talking about the gameplay perspective things didn't changed much except for the fact that now people push generators even more, especially now that all the best gen defense perks for killers were nuked. This will only enforce tunneling. especially now that ds was nerfed into the ground (despite i don't like that perk it was the only thing that could stop a killer from tunneling). After this released patch i tried to do 5 matches as killer... all of them were awfully quickly with toxic pricks (auto dead hard is still a thing it seems btw), gens were flying like usual (10 seconds added didn't change anything, survivors needed a secondary objective to do but the devs as always didn't want to aknowledge that) and i barely had the time to do 3/4 hooks... this is just unplayable and not funny

    1. It's what I personally think? Dude I play Spirit a ton and I don't use the strongest add ons on her. This isn't about what I think, it's about my own experience with her.
    2. Your example is extremely flawed because the window you're talking about is already a fairly easy window to mindgame on for any kiler if you're positioned right. Even if you aren't, you know it's possible to use Spirit's speed to fake going to the other side of the window and having the survivor vault back? They make a little grunt when they slow vault. Also, you brought up how Spirit can't vault windows during phase, but Blight can't in his rush either so does that make him bad too? Spirit can even vault out of her power immediately whereas Blight can't so I don't understand what you were trying to say there. And finally you bring up letting the survivor vault the window back, that's all on the player if they let them do that. They can hear the survivor and predict them going back to the window.
    3. What do you mean she is unplayable against a decent team without strong add ons? She can't 4k against them? Is that what you're saying?

1 just because you played a ton a killer doesn't mean that your opinion is absolute, otherwise we should take for granted everything that streamers with over 8k hours say

2 it isn't, you have a limited use of your power, not to mention that you have to charge it before using it and that loop is sufficient to waste EASILY at least 30 seconds before you hit someone (unless you are against complete potatoes) while blight can easily rush towards your position and hit you even before you reach the window since he can instantly rush unlike spirit...

3 not necessarily a 4k... Even to do half of your objective (6 hooks) is almost impossible when you are against good survivors... You just don't have enough time to handle them (but this is a problem for the entire roster, minus nurse and blight)

    1. But why do people need to have so many strong add ons? She can definitely play without them.
    2. That's absolutely not true. She still moves 176%, can still short burst effectively, and can use directional audio to her advantage a lot of the time.
    3. But she isn't add on dependent unless you personally make her add on dependent.

1 this is what YOU PERSONALLY think (which mind you is still fine tho, each one can have a proper view of the general "picture" of the game)

2 i can give you a valid example of what i just said... imagine to being in a map like midwitch (to be precise in the room with the window, 1 brekable door and 2 pallet: you phase in order to catch a survivor but the window will deny any kind of counterplay because YOU CAN'T VAULT while phasing so with this i already proved that her power doesn't have any kind of antiloop because you can't counter window like huntress, doc, etc etc can for example but i can go on if you want... you break the door but the survivor has still that window plus 2 pallets available, one for each room... with that in mind you can't phase without problems cause your power can't be spammed and it will pass 15 seconds before you can use it again, until that time you are a simple m1 with a lesser MS... but even in the case you can phase in the survivor position he can still hear you and vault again the window and reach the other pallet, effectively wasting your power with just a simple loop...)

3 all the killer in the game are addon dependant, but there are some that are just unplayable without them and spirit if you are aganist a decent team is one of those imo

  • @johangpx said:

I never left in the game but i did twice today because it takes forever to bless or make a generator. DBD must change speed of reparing gens to what it was. Better do not update at all. This if not a fine update.

as i said the problem wasn't the genspeed itself, but the lack of a secondary object for survivors... i found survivor gamplay boring for the simple fact that you have to waste 80 (now 90 so it's even more boring) seconds on a gen, without interacting with possible new objectives to do (idk something like that you must find and install a component on a generator in order to keep going with the repairs... obviously the killer coudn't regress the gen over a certain % if a component was already installed...)

  • you aren't unlucky... remember what i said to you before: just because a single perk was changed (iron will), you won't see spirits for the simple fact that this killer is bad aganist survivors with a modicum of brain... sure she can still be annoying with her strongest addons, but:

1 people don't have unlimited strong addons (expensive and rare, especially now that the reworked bloodweb will gave you more brown and yellow items rather than green, purple and red addons)

2 she doesn't have any form of antiloop (her power is based only on her MS, she can't do nothing aganist pallets or windows and she can still be easily spotted if you aren't deaf)

3 people will probably prefer killers that aren't addon dependant

It used to feel like a struggle to get 4k and I would sweat my ass off. It was really nice being able to relish a win that I barely got.

Now, Killer feels like easy mode. A lot of the challenge isn't there anymore, and I do not need to put the same effort in that I used to. I seriously have played 2 hours of killer today, and not once did I get anything less than a 4k (barring the survivors I gave hatch to, ofc).

this because you faced extremely bad survivors... i'll gladly gave my mmr since i didn't won a single match on 5 matches played except one cause in that match i was using blight and i started tunneling at a certain point...

  • @GeneralV said:

Greetings survivors, killers, and both-siders of the Fog! I hope this thread finds you doing well.

So, today was the big day, eh? New update dropping, Dead Hard nerfed (FINALLY), Thanatophobia buffed, Legion and Plague apocalypse, bla bla bla...Originally, my plan was to take a good look at those red backgrounds, even if they are a VERY poor excuse of a reward and immediately close the game.

    But...

Each Forum post here was more confusing than the other, and 95% of them had a complaint of sorts (which is not unusual, but still...) and it was getting a bit difficult to catch up. So I decided to wake up my inner GLaDOS and put my differences with current DBD behind us...for science.

    And well...the result was interesting.

Now, I didn't play MANY trials, because everyone knows I can't stand current DBD for long periods of time, especially if I am by myself, but I did get to see most of the stuff that got changed. And imma just say it right now: there was an impact.

Those changes definitely made an impact.

The DH nerf easily takes the spotlight on this one, and it is such a good change that now I REALLY wish the devs had the same idea back in 2017, when they designed the perk or a few weeks after its release. This had to be done, and in a perfect scenario it would have been done a long time ago.

There is also an odd absence of Decisive Strike...really, in the spam of a few matches I believe I only saw it twice. I don't think the 3-seconds stun time is a terrible change, mostly because DS actually worked like that in the past. Whether or not this perk has been killed remains to be seen.

Now, as for the killer buffs...I have some mixed feelings towards them. I get why they did it, especially with the "Hold W Meta" (which is a stupid thing, btw), but I believe they could have buffed Brutal Strength and Fire Up instead. As for the elephant in the room...

    Thanatophobia...

It has always been one of my favorite perks and seeing it finally buffed felt good. I used it on all of my games, and its usefulness is clear. Paired with gens taking longer, and Legion and Plague being...ya know, I can see this perk being a part of the "new meta", if we can even call it that way.

But, at the same time, there is some damage to be taken into consideration. Things seem to have gotten a bit rough for Solo Queue, even more so than they already were. Look, I strongly believe that the difficulty level of playing solo survivor was not as scary as some people made it out to be, mostly based on my experiences with solo q from 2018 until leaving the Fog.

But now... This update hasn't been kind to it, and I would not be surprised if there are complaints on the way.

Overall, I believe this patch did a few things which were needed...and many which were not, and perhaps even more so than most patches in DBD's recent history. I don't get why they nerfed BBQ, Ruin, Self-Care, and many others. If the objective truly was changing the meta, there are better ways to do it.

But then again, remember that everything you just read are the words of an old dog, one that no longer cares, plays...or even recognizes the game which he used to love.

And you, dear reader? What do you think of the changes released today?

I will be more than happy to read them!

-Signed by GeneralV, the Master of Old DBD.

P.S: If you would like to see my build for the day, here it is:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/VPRXLSWZ5EV2/image.png

on paper good changes... on practice nothing changed for me except that now i'm aganist toxic tryharders every ######### match and i'm forced to use blight every game and tunnel if i want have some hope to get kills... this update seems to have worsened the situation instead of improving it. i think that i'll take another long break from the game until they won't fix those issues... the problem wasn't the genspeed itself but the map layouts and the lack of a secondary object to do for survivors. as survivor instead match will be more boring (m1 on a gen for 90 seconds now... really fun /s) since we will see a dramatic increase of tunneling killers...

  • really? for me it's the opposite: until now i had faced only extremely toxic tryhards who are winning without troubles... the only exception was when i was tired of the situation and took blight... i barely won, but it wasn't fun at all... they even forced me to tunnel at a certain point... if this should be my average killer experience then i'm done for good with dbd...

I recently started achievement hunting and realized I only had 3 survivor achievements left and am now down to the last one (End a chase by hiding in a locker). While it's not the worst thing in the world, it makes me use quick and quiet and head on a lot now which has gotten me face camped on a few occasions lol

But anyway, after that, I will only have 25 achievements left. I think the 2 I am going to struggle with most are:

With Nurse, chain 3 blinks and then land a grab. The only way I'm getting that done is farming.

Myers: Kill all 4 survivors with the tombstone. I tried this almost 10 times today and every time, I would only end up with 3 kills. Two times, I got cucked by the hatch. The other 7 or 8, the last survivor would just jump in a locker and literally stayed inside until the timer ran out rather than let me get my last kill. Aggravating tbh

clearly skill issues if you aren't able to mori survivors before they'll enter into a locker /s

  • @KolbyKolbyKolby said:

Killers cannot perform interactions to an object/survivor if a survivor is interacting with that item, this is an intentional design (healing, saboing, gens) and is not an exploit.

not entirely true: if someone is sabo your hook you can directly grab the survivor who performed that action, same if they are working on a gen

Also it doesn't have to be something strictly game related it could be something about the community, the forums, content creators (In a general sense, not individuals) and so on.

    I'm curious to know

only one? there are A LOT of issues that aren't discussed enough... between bugs, reports that won't change anything, gameplay "tech" that shouldn't even exist in the 1st place and swf and their toxicity... you have an AMPLE selection of issues...

  • did you asked for an opinion or not? i said my opinion regarding your question and for me it's a absolutely not, she won't be popular

Btw I think I just realised what was the last brown offering: I think it was for the basement to spawn in the shack, so they can fully abuse the school building, downstairs mainly. This is so evil and sad that people are allowed to set up the game like this. Stupid offerings.

happened to me too when i was playing trapper... at that point since they refused to do generators, kept fleeing in that cursed place and just to be sure to gave me a really bad time by using also purple toolboxes just in the absurd case that i had the luck to find a hook (impossible since thanks to the pietrified oal offering they removed the only hook availables that could spawn in the school: the one behind it and the one after the window in the school's garden), i just dc and wrote to them that i won't waste my time playing with people who doesn't want play the game (or better, they want play ONLY to make the match miserable for the others). this should be punished with a ban imo (like they did already when legion blades addons gave infinite mending).

  • yes, but also tome challenges that require to be completed in a single trial (the bar completely full but for some reason it won't be considered the challenge completed... like for example completely heal 3 people in a match, you essencially heal those players, but one of those started with a small progress regarding the healing that will DENY your accomplished goal)

Like i said many times before and i will say this again KIILERS needs a reward and Incentive for not tunneling and camping, however the recant patch has turned it to the other direction nerfing healthy perks and forcing killers to ''unfun gameplay'' lets do it by examples:

pop: Pop goes the Wessel has been nerfed so badly its no longer pays off for the killer to leave the hook, you probably waste more time going to that gen than you gain on the actual regression. healthy perk got nerfed into the ground good job devs :).

pain res: Giving the killer information after hooking a survivor is ALWAYS good and healthy, if there's information to work with its more possible that killer go and pressure that gen instead of camping. Well they removed it so what's going to happen is the most killers will just take the 15% regression in the background and stay under the hook.

Overcharge: Now, overcharge had a potential to become another healthy perk that promotes and rewards the killer pressuring the gens, well guess what? it got nerfed so extremely that nobody will ever use it. Do devs understand that walking to a generator and kicking it and also camping the gen until its regressed is a HUGE time investment from the killer?.

Devs for god sake you cannot complain about killers using ''Unfun tactics'' or whatever you called it and making changes that incentives this gameplay AT THE SAME TIME.

Generator kicking perks are the most healthy things in this game, rewarding the killers and at the same time making the game more ''Fair'' for the survivor. Nerfing them is only making the game less enjoyable and YES especially for the survivors which is hilarious.

Since the healthy perks got nerfed into the ground what i will do and probably many other players we'll be using the passive game slow down (deadlock, tana, corrupt, dms, dying light ,dms, gift of pain,) and it will be a new meta. Ultra camping and tunneling making the game very unfun for the survivors and unrewarding for killer. I suggested many times before about making pop base kit to reward and incentives killer to pressure the gens giving the killer a TOOL to do that. Like i said i think tunneling and camping will be more prevalent than ever before.

healthy perks? not so much sure about it... people will usually tend to exploit and obtain an advantage with those perks, no matter what...

You can predict someone will W+shift out of a loop and zone then out in a direction with no pallets. I've gotten many easy hits like that.

Even while being slow, the teleport is a better form of map travel then what most killers have. Also, the ideal is for you to teleport out of their sight so they DON'T predict where you're going to be an run in the opposite direction. It's a power that requires mindgames, but when well used is pretty good.

Blocking a pair of lockers with 1 lock is needed so the resources against him don't run out too fast. To see how it would be otherwise, sometimes survivors make the mistake of locking both of them. You come out of the locker and, since they're out of range this time, you just break the other lock. Now you have an easy way of getting to that gen and they cannot lock it to slow you down anymore.

there's just a little problem... the audio cue that you'll do once you teleport to a locker...

Ok with the buffs to killer basekits, and the huge nerf to survivors with now no counter at all against camping and tunneling especially in soloq, what do you think the killer queue time is gonna be after the patch?

I am sure we will be back to pre nerf Ruin times of 10-15 minutes.

Soloq is dead and literally every solo player I saw post somewhere or talked to personally said they are either gonna stop playing, go full swf or go play killer.

I for myself are gonna go full killer main after this patch and if the queue ends up being as bad as I think it's gonna be, I am just gonna take an even longer break until they finally buff soloq.

pre nerf ruin times were short for me... less than 1 minute... the problem of solo survivor aren't the perks, but your teammates, who are more dangerous than the killer itself. (my last match as solo told us everything: looped a freddy for more than half game with only 2 pallets, once he finally started to think that chasing me was a waste of time since he couldn't down me he went for the others, who did only a single generator in all that time... they lasted less than 30 seconds in chases... in the end i died due to the exit gates too much close, but i did 30000 points while the others barely reached 15000...)

  • lmao... he's just slightly better than sadako, nothing more... his antiloop is pathetic since the counter is simple and effective at the same time: w+shift. teleport wouldn't be so bad if:

1 wasn't so slow to do it (if it was quickly as when in nightfall i wouldn't had complains)

2 lockers can be blocked (and in the case of 2 lockers that are close to each other, if one of those is locked, the teleport will gave priority to the locked one)

the only thing that i consider funny and potentially good is nightfall (i said potentially cause if i'm not mistaken people can see even when nightfall is active. They can do this through nvidia filters)

So before we start my opinion: Nurse is stupidly OP killer that anybody can learn in week or two and then go stomp pubs, and she should be nerfed with her OP addons.

Ok so the whole Nurse mains, and a lot of people on this forum mentality is "Survivors bad, killers good" and also "Swf is OP please nerf", but yeah, I could agree on SWF in some way, but not the way that at least loudest ones on this forum talk about.

A lot of these people thinks that nurse should not be nerfed because of strenght of SWF (4 man, I assume), especially on high MMR, but there will be my personal experience, take it if you want, I love to play blight and I win most of my games NOT EVEN USING 4 META PERKS, and I play blight a lot. Why do I win? Because most of survivors are just decent, even at high MMR and I assume, I repeat, I assume that my blight at high MMR because I play as him a lot and I win a lot. So I rarely get 4 man swf, and when I get, I loose sometimes yeah, because I am not using meta perks, but even in those cases I have around 50% KR.

Now back to those mentality, for some reason a lot of people thinks that they are playing against 4 man SWF every game, but it's just not possible, check this stats, yes, it's pretty old but I hardly doubt something changed now, even if we assume you only playing against 4 man swf at high mmr, what time it will take to find a game? My queue time is pretty fast

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/O1CJ4LJPHMEH/cpidc1xe8jbt.jpg

So as we can see, ~50% players are solo, 25% are duo, about 10% are trio, and only 6% are 4 man, and based on my experience, this is still pretty correct.

But maybe 4 man have anomaly high escape rate? Nah, it's around 50%.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/HRL2K9UA577P/image.png

I know this is old stat, sadly, there are no MMR distribution, but I talked with a lot of people, especially killer mains, their experience is pretty much same as mine, they are also winning most of their games, even when they are playing against 4 man. And trust me, there are almost no competitive squads, I've played only against one since MMR was added.

Competitive squad can win best nurse, but you are talking about THE BEST, THE 0.001% of players THAT ARE LITERALLY TRAINING 4+ HRS A DAY HOW TO PLAY AGAINST NURSE. Do you really expect the same from average players, or even good players? Yes, there are also not much competitive nurses, but you don't have to be competitive to win most of your games, even against good survivors.

But hey, you could say, I don't trust you, you have no proofs, why should I beelieve to you?

I know for some weird reason people hate when others taking content creators as prooving point, "You don't have your own opinion!" I have my own opinion, I stated it at the start of this thread, my opinion matches with player, that make living by playing DBD tho I assume he is way more experienced than me and most of dbd players. I'm talking about Otz

He did the perkless, afk for 30s challenge

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0sr-m6fcNs

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/7RIU8FYJCLMR/image.png

Pretty good results for such challenge, and ofc best games was on nurse, blight and spirit, 3 killers that everyone will consider top tier.

My opinion? He got a bit lucky, why a bit? Because he mostly played against solos, but MOST of killer games are against solos, if you don't beelieve, check stats at top or check your opponent's profiles.

I know also Tru3 accepted this challenge, but as far as I know he tried to play "fair" and he was unlucky in most of the games.

But CCs such as Dowsey, SpookAndJukes and others got pretty much the same results as Otz

Why did they win? They camped and tunneled, yes, these strats are very effective and can carry most of your games, I think you already know that.

Regardless, that's your average experience of playing killer, but for some reason a lot of players don't wanna accept it and only remember bad games.

Before we will go to good nurses killrates lets watch this

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/8Q7LRW1IC9PE/image.png

Why? Because a lot of players claim that she has lowest killrate and shouldn't be nerfed, but any experienced player will look at this and say that this is just not true

Now back to Nurse players mentality with everything we know, they win at least 60% of their games, because soloq is awful, 75% if we also take duoq, but in fact this number will be around 90%.

Every.Single.Nurse.Player will camp and tunnel as soon as something will get out of control, even slightly. I have no problem with that, we are all doing our objective, but unlike bubba, nurse can camp effectively, especially in cases where there are gens nearby, no, you can't really counter that, a lot of times nurse is camping triangle, and I am not talking about the 1 last gen situaton, most of the times it's 4 gen situation. Not to mention everyone is playing with best perks and addons, but this is the same for survivors sometimes, we'll get to this later.

Also, not really fair point for DBD but let's take LoL or DoTA for example, if character have over 50% WR, he is strong, lower, he is weak. I would like to know what's killrate nurse have at high mmr for sure, but based on some nurse mains I've watched, it's around 100%. For example, RapidMain Who wong 25 games in a row as nurse, he had challenge, unlike most of nurse players

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyV6FmeS9r4&t=328s

Even in games I've mentioned above smurfs or boosters don't have 100% WR, in LoL they have around 65-70%, but they are not playing at their rank

The almost last but not least, perk nerfs, especially DH DS IW. The ones that kinda countered nurse and tunnel situations, they will be nerfed soon, and I hope to see incredible nurse killrate increase so she will be nerfed too.

The last and least, my thoughts about maining nurse, this is boring, this is boring to win almost every game, without putting any effort, without having any challenge, but that's me.

    TL;DR

Most of survivors are soloq casuals, stop this mentality "Survivor bad, Killer good", you are barely even playing against 4 man swf, so you are should be able to win most of your games

Nurse should be nerfed, all the excuses are appliable only against 4 man swf, the 6% of the playerbase, and even this playerbase we can divide by half, because most of the players are casuals, and matchmaking is bad so they can get to high ranks somehow, also yes, best 4 man comp squad (0.001% of playerbase) can win best nurse, but you are talking about people that training 4+ hrs a day only how to play against nurse, you can't expect it from every player

    P. S. I don't wanna insult anyone, the point of this thread to motivate you to analyze your games, check your winrate, check your opponents profiles, and you will be surprised.

Also, it took too long to write this all, if I forgot anything, leave a comment, I will try to answer

those data are unreliable to say the least... you shouldn't balance around statistics because those aren't truthful (i can do a valid example: back in the days when i started to play dbd my 1st match i barely hooked someone but did a 4k cause those brats were dumb enough to try to save their teammate at all costs in the endgame... while i still had noed active... aganist a nurse... in that case data showed that i DESTROYED them, but if you saw the actual match i didn't had the chance to do anything until the end thanks to a perk and later cause i camped and they were dumb enough to try to do the save).

Because they literally have enough advantages as it is why do they need to have the ability to take a survivor-sided map as well?

I had a pallet smashing mission "Destroy 25 pallets" and I got taken to Meat factory and did 16 before the game ended and not including the rest of them.

i have the perfect solution for this... The name starts with B and the used tactic with C...

  • I can say the same for people asking new content every time, nerfing/buffing stuff, etc etc... Yet here we are... Don't forget that the players are also their customers...

So a couple of things I get from the July update

The Prestige catch up mechanic was capped at prestige 9, and you'll automatically gain 2 new additional prestige level per existing prestige.

This means that there is no difference between having a character to P3 level 1, like someone who simply rushed to prestige during the event, and someone who is P3 with all perks since both will gain 6 additional prestige levels and hit the prestige 9 cap. It doesn't really feel fair, does it? I mean, there is a huge difference in bloodpoints spent between the first and the latter case, why should the efforts of more dedicated players be thrown in the bin like this? What's the point of setting the cap to 9 when the amount of prestige levels you could gain was already capped by the limited amount of perks that are in the game?

Ok, the reward for having a character to P3 before the update was improved, but it's still the same ######### reward with a new coat of paint? The issue was not the fact that it was ugly (I mean, that was ONE of the problems for sure, but not the only one).

It still does not give anyone bragging rights, and more importantly it's not an adequate reward compared to the drawbacks of prestiging THREE TIMES in the current system.

Why is it so hard to offer a proper reward? The community came up with lots of good ideas, why not listening to it for once at least? It's not the end of the world if you need to admit that the reward you though about in the beginning was underwhelming, is BHVR scared of admitting they were wrong?

Let me ask you something... Did they EVER admitted that they were in the wrong? I don't remember they EVER did it... Don't expect anything from them regarding this

I mean I was getting hit down with an active 1 second DH- was it really necessary to nerf again.. they already destroyed it enough

Dead hard will NEVER BE destroyed enough imo... That perk deserves to be buried and forgotten. (at least it's still more useful than ruin)

After playing several matches with Myers and Ghostface, I feel like Myers needs a complete rework since Ghostface is basically same Myers but in every gameplay aspect he is better.

I might be wrong but Myers is like a huge "trash" and outdated killer since he was released back in time where Meta and other killers/perks were all different.

for the memes... or if you are masochist, those are the only 2 things that i can think

It’s fine to punish tunnelers and campers, it doesn’t matter if they’re m1 killers or not.

then for the same logic we should punish also genrushers and bodyblockers... it's too much easy think only about the survivor's fun without considering that the killer is a player like the other who deserve to have fun... i can agree that those tactics are annoying sometimes, but this is how is the game right now: if you want punish those kind of player then you should also punish people who play in a fully SWF with meta perks and rush gens, even in the killer's face without the slightest sign of fear, bodyblock with perks that weren't made to get a free hit but to have a chance to escape from a killer (BT protection hits) and people who abuse certain map loadouts that are unfair to say the least (for example the house in the garden of joy is literally an infinite, just like one house in haddonfield with 3 ######### windows)... if they will ever do those things you can rightfully complain about camping and tunneling and asking changes, but until those problems are still present in the game those tactics can stay imo

no, i'm serious... if i was ironic i would have putted the /s in the end

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

First, OTR needed nerf and i am happy for all endurance nerfs, they should not be stackable. This is good change!

But seriously no change for camping and tunnelling? You are seriously believing base-kit BT will help against campers and tunnellers? You buffed generators time, so this strategies are stronger now. But nothing to help survivors?

Not even buff for DS (make it 5 seconds again)? Seriously just "nothing" for survivors?

Good luck if you can find anyone to play solo after this update.

imo you are overexaggerating, solo is painful not for the perks, but for the teammates that you get... if you have a good solo team you can easily win even without perks (otherwise i wouln't had done the steam achievement to do 8 escapes without perks so easily... i still remember that day: i didn't had a single match without a team that was actually competent... it was like a dream... unfortunately it lasted only that day... on 9 matches that i did i died only 1 time)

With the new reduction in grind when it comes to gaining new perks, the Bloodpoint economy had to be tweaked with regards to where and when they should be spent. While players now need to spend Bloodpoints to prestige, ultimately the grind is still heavily reduced and results in an overall improvement to the entire system.

i still want back my bbq/wglf stacks tho... it felt rewarding doing those stacks

i'm not expecting to solve any problem with this letter, THAT would be naive. I gave my honest opinion on this game as i always do and if it reaches the right hears, good, if not who cares?

i still hope that devs will start to questioning their agenda due to your "letter" tho... this game needs a BETTER behavior (no pun intended) from their players

  • @SantaKlawz1 said:

Only trash people use trash tactics like tunneling. If you're a killer who tunnels someone out to start the game, you've already lost. If you've played enough, you know what I mean. If not, TFB.

and only survivor mains will tell to people this... even otzdarva admit that tunneling is one of the best strategies in the game if did it right (i usually don't take as an absolute truth what he says, but in this case i agree with him)... you are simply denying it cause you don't enjoy it (which mind you, it's understandable, but getting genrushed and disrespected in the endchat cause you played fair isn't fun either...)

  • @BaroneMaximus said:

Many already know me in this forum, but probably not all do so i will reintroduce myself (i doubt that any dev knows me lol). I play both sides, i don't care about "winning" killing/surviving, i only care for the fun that this game can give (as every other game i play). This game tho has a huge problem: it is very unfavourable and unfun towards the killer. I don't know why you favour so much survivors and i don't even care. What i wanna say is that every time you make it easy for survivors you are making it easy for FOUR survivors, in many situations, four survivors that are cooperating together against a lone player that is struggling already with killer powers and addons almost ever changing with every patch when survivors never changed their game style since the very beginning of this game. This created a situation where survivor became cocky and toxic to the level where the killer can't ever have fun in his games, but he has to try everything he has and many times fail since the game is waaaaaaay harder for him and maybe get a 2 man out of 3 or 4 hooks and still "lose" and so not be payed off at all. In my very honest opinion, you should really stop thinking that this game is a 1v1 whenever you do your balance changes and start thinking that this game is an actual 4v1 where the 1 atm is veeeeery behind in balance even in the 1v1 scenario. If you are worried about solos, just do the changes thinking the 4v1 and then buff solos. If you are worried about casual players or "bad players", casual players don't care about winning or losing and if they do they are not so casual ( ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ) while bad players can always improve and don't have to relay on devs making it easier for them. There are tons of content creators out there, namely your fog whisperers, that can help them out and even without ANY help from the outside, they would just have to try and play the game since they would finally make it through (this is how i do in ANY game i play.) Are you worried about op killers making it impossible for survivors to live their lives? Nerf them, change them, dismantle them and build it anew. You are really good at that :)

I've been very honest and i skipped all the lies behind almost every bad player hides like "this game is not unbalanced" or "there is no such thing as gen rush" so i hope you will be honest with yourself and start thinking about the real good and health of this game and then you will see that all your worries were in vain and that this game would become better and better.

P.s. i also wanted to add that i'm very disappointed for the upcoming changes that you announced to perks. You created monstrous survivors perks and gave them bt at base, while for killers you just destroyed their only chance to defend gens by nerfing to the ground pop and giving no notification with scourge and waiting at a gen to get to 0 for 30 seconds is not really my go while other gens could pop in the meantime :) so now the best option you gave killers is to camp and tunnel. Changes you made to kicks and stuff are really meaningless and bloodlust should not even exist for me, it's a bad brute force mechanic that gets rid of any gameplay survivor or killer could have and also the buff you made is quite useless 99% of the times so yeah...

Hope to hit the right ppl with this, have a nice day and gg all.

Despite i admire your try, you are also just simply too much naive... After all those years they showed us that they didn't care what people think (they'll start acting only when they are forced to...), they just do whatever they want (I don't remember for example that people asked a nerf for billy/deathslinger/pyramidhead yet they were nerfed for no VALID reasons). This game is a lost cause of you think that they'll improve the QoL of the game and try to gave fun for everyone. I abandoned every hope long time ago

Facecamping was not removed in the slightest lmao I can say “look we fixed face campinng. We removed the impossibility of blocking a unhook therefore face camping is eradicated yay”, but as long as a instadown killer can stand close enough to impede a save its still Face Camping, 2 or 3 meters added distance doesnt change that

if you saw it in that way then even normal killers can "facecamp" by simply grabbing the survivor who is doing the unhook... before it was LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE to save someone from the hook if the killer was positioned in that specific spot, now you can do a save without problem, yes, even with instadown killers with a modicum of attention (bubba and billy can be stucked into objects/walls/lockers if you know how to time well your dodge while oni and myers can't camp forever with their instadown ability since it's time limited)

But facecamping hasn’t been removed I don’t understand???

it was removed... before they removed it you could stay pefectly idle once hooking someone and completely deny a save for the simple fact that survivors had only a single angle to perform the unhook action

I don’t bring tool boxes tho. Especially brand new parts as I think those shouldn’t be in the game to begin with. I do play killer but I can only take so much out of that role before I want to stop

You don't bring toolboxes... But what about the others? You can't grant for the other people... If was for me everyone would play with brown addons/items... My latest matches before taking a break were against people who took BNP and instaheals... Tell me, how it's fun playing when people use those stuff? I get why people found camping annoying, but I also understand why people camp with bubba... Personally I'd rather stop playing than playing sweaty like that or camping every match...

  • It is indeed... (You forgot also that you have toolboxes for speed up the repairs) if you don't like pressing m1 on a gen for 90 seconds then switch side and play killer or just play something else (like I did)

  • @S4ShadowWolf said:

Just made a post pointing this out, but I'll write it here to outline it again.

Counter to Facecamp bubba is do gens. Which will now take longer.

And with the wonderful new changes to monstrous shrine (which every facecamp bubba will use) kills them faster.

So survivor gets camped, dies faster and then he moves to his next victim.

    Buff much?

You forgot a little detail... New monstrous shrine will work only IF THE KILLER WILL STAY AWAY from the hook by 24 meters...

If you watched the video, I was the one that got smacked with noed as soon as the last gen popped. No way for me to counter it. I tied playing as safe as possible at the end. The beginning I got robbed because of my wifi

You can't pretend to always escape, as I said before bad luck, it happens

Did i defended it? I don't remember that I wrote something similar... I just stated that you have the tools for countering it and that's a fact. If you don't like the counters for that strategy then it's your problem

    @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3052188#Comment_3052188

They cleansed NOED at end game? So what? Now they can save their teammate? No because Bubba is still facecamping. I don't know why you are trying to defend him but you are clearly can not see point.

Bubba with NOED + NWO + Deadlock can secure 2 kills easyly. And with upcoming update, it will be worse.

But yeah "just do gens and escape bro :(". But people can not complain about how busted it.

Again, you aren't entitled to always escape just like the killer isn't entitled to get 4k every match... If you want to talk about busted things then survivors have easily the upper hand in this imo... Also again, facecamping doesn't exist anymore since 2017 if I remember correctly...

    That would be fine.

I don't know if it would inspire some very

    Very

    Very boring strategies though.

in that instance the devs could always take a look at the problematics and fix them... at least in that way it can be prevented a very boring match

  • @Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3052180#Comment_3052180

In the situation they're talking about, the killers are refusing to risk their gens and the survivors are refusing to risk their lives. Both won't commit. So it just goes on forever. It'd be cool if it there was some kind of failsafe for it, because it definitely is possible to force.

If the survivors keep getting pushed off and don't voluntarily kill themselves for a few extra percent on the gen, I don't blame them for no gens getting done in a timely manner.

the solution is simple... set a time limit for each game... once that time expires, all the survivors that are still in the map will be sacrificed

  • no, i just like the image, but even then so what? it's a perk like the others, i don't see problems with it

    @deKlaw_04 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3052168#Comment_3052168

Yes but we couldn’t counter noed because of him camping the feng and she left with a lousy 5k points. Not to mention that he had dead lock

this is a wrong statement, you could still counter noed (after all it's only a totem that must be cleansed) even if you were 3 survivors, the only problem is that he wasted your time with dead lock but even then if a survivor play safe from the beginning, the team should have enough time and fix at least 3 gens, even when deadlock is active

  • @Nos37 said:

I'm not saying the 3-gen strat is unfair or un-counterable.

I'm talking about the survivors hiding and refusing to do gens, or the killer not committing to chases and letting the survivors run away, heal up, and come back. The actual, boring-for-both-sides, stalemate part...

it's a game mechanic issue (one of many of them)... in that case survivors should be FORCED to try to fix a gen... if they refuse to work on gen and stay hidden for the entire trial well, this is considered taking the game hostage

  • @deKlaw_04 said:
