Yes, because technically with the basekit change it's 22.5%, so you only lost 2.5% from Pop.
lmao you should think better about numbers... the 2,5% is the regression applied by default to the ENTIRE generator, without considering the actual progress, while pop will regress the 20% of the CURRENT progress of the generator kicked, meaning that it won't regress the 20% of the entire gen (90*20/100= 18 seconds) but it will regress based on the current progress that a gen has (you kick a gen that is half way to be finished: 45*20/100= 9). essencially pop now is USELESS
-
@pyramidheadmain6233 said:
So right now, Pop steals away 25% of total progress from a gen after hooking a survivor. After the update, it's only gonna take 20% of the current progress instead of the total gen progress.
Will it still be worth running? I'm not good with numbers so it's not easy for me to tell.
absolutely no

So your saying you should be playing against mid range killers. The ones that get nearly infinite at the garden of joy map, haddonfield? The ones that waddle across rpd gigantic corridors. These maps don't even affect nurse they just screw over the weaker mid range killers. Nurse growing popularity is likely due to another map with awful design being added to the game. The map design team needs to cope on this is the third awful map design in a row. Think about it would you play a typical killer when the past few maps have been Gideon meat plant, garden of joy, eyrie of crows and rpd. Oh were also going to be getting hawkin's back if the leaks are to be believed so yay I guess. These maps aren't built for giving killers and survivors an equal chance loop wise. There obnoxious to traverse and absolutely obssessed with giving survivors a ridiculous number of safe pallets. Let not make another slinger incident please. Nurse will become way less of an issue if they stopped screwing every other killer in the game.
not nearly infinites... those are INFINITES, yes even with bamboozle in the case of 4.4 killers... and before their last patch went live haddonfield car hitboxes were literally "giant minecraft blocks" (ranged killers were literally powerless since every hit was stopped by an invisible wall), so yeah, map design sucks

Trapper...My God I have not seen my beautiful Trapper in ages!
By far my most favourite Killer, but sadly I cant play him because of the amount of ridicule and suffering every Trapper needs to endure...
Traps are basically useless because any good Survivor will immediately know how to disable his power, with his power gone he is just an M1 Killer.
Last time I played Trapper during this event I got flashlight clicked and spammed by Survivors to come and chase them, before all my traps got popped and 3 Gens were done by the time I got my first hook.
Such fun, very interactive and fun gameplay to suffer immensely just because I wanted to play my favourite Killer again.
Apparently chill and fun time is only allowed for Survivors, but God forbid you wanna play Trapper or Pig you are throwing a 50 50 coin toss hoping that you get lucky and face against bad Survivors so you can enjoy yourself.
Oh and the cherry on top of the damned cake is when they escape, they have the audacity to type in your direction and say "gg ez lol bad Killer lol, get looped cx"
op this is the reason why you find only nurses in your games... people are tired of being mocked by survivors who keep being toxic and escape thanks to their perks (and being in a SWF) and not for their skill so they'll follow what survivors usually says to the killers "deal with it, git gud, adapt and just apply pressure 4head". As for me i just started to main bubba the few times that i still play the game (you are free to do whatever you want but then don't complain if the killer will do the same)

You can do various things to calm yourself after a bad survivor match:
1 Play killer (warn you, it could be MUCH worse than your matches as survivor, so I won't suggest this)
2 hide the game in your library on steam so you won't be tempted to play it and you'll have more time for doing something else
3 play something else (If you like RTS I suggest you ancestor legacy... For me it worked marvelously)

"It doesn't matter if you're at the top or in the middle, or even low. Your opinion still matters as much as anyone else."
This is a beautiful sentence with which I fully agree
And this is the problem... Despite you can hear everyone's thoughts on the game, you shouldn't take decisions based on what inexperienced people will say... For example a newcomer to the game will easily tell you that every killer in dbd is overpowered due to the fact that he doesn't have the needed knowledge to play somewhat efficiently (they even found unfair that the default killer has 4.6 of movement speed) ... You can't clearly balance to the opposite direction of veteran tryharders either since everyone who isn't at their level will suffer greatly for the things that they can suggest... The best idea would be to take a middle ground between those groups, where you can find people that aren't clueless about the gameplay mechanics and know how to play with randoms but that aren't gods at the game...

How is iron will, self-care or spine chill buffed?
i don't consider those perks (except iron will) meta, but 2 of those 3 perks were nerfed for good reasons:
1 iron will was unfair cause it hasn't a "counter" and with it you can literally nullify the spirit's power (the only counter was stridor and the devs nerfed this perk 2 times already cause people whine about spirit being op with it... now they tried to put iron will in the same spot of stridor. despite the nerf it will still be stronger than stridor tho)
2 selfcare didn't deserve this nerf imo (the real problem are medkits... with the right perks they can be extremely strong, but even without them medkits are still good)
3 spine chill well, people used it for the fast vault build (paired with resilience) or to COMPLETELY counter stealth killers (this is the real reason for the nerf). this perk imo needed to be nerfed, but not so heavily...
-
it was an example... my point still stand (and perks that improve the genspeed weren't nerfed obviously cause "they have already increased the time required to repair a gen"...)
-
did you searched this with interner explorer? /s
joke aside the only useful thing that he received was the default reduced recharge for his bottles, everything else was nerfed or reworked badly

Have killer B and C tier too much.
not gonna happen probably... if you think about it the nurse was a "mistake" in their eyes... she's the only killer in the game that can bypass every kind of defense (except dead hard) that survivors have... she ignore the loop mechanics of the game (and they added that killer in the begin thinking that this game was an horror casual game and not the sweatfest of tunneling, camping, looping and genrushing that's today... remember how much dark maps were before being reworked)

For the attack cooldown im really worried its just going to make camping easier, especially against console players.
but im more worried about the Speed boost nerf after getting hit those .3 seconds will make a lot of difference.
if the changes were one or the other i think it would be fine
attack cooldown buff but keep current Speed boost after hit or something
The pallet breaking speed is fine but combined with the other 2 it feels like it will make a HUGE diffrence
but i guess well see
I really like the gen damage tho.
they guttted ruin once and for all, they utterly nerfed pop, they nerfed corrupt intervention and pain resonace and you fear abour few milliseconds of cooldown (and probably the 10 added seconds for a gen)? i'll gladly revert this change on certain aspects, but we are still unaware of the results of all their changes, before speaking we should try those changes and give feedbacks, then we could talk again about modifying things

"So we lowering grind up to 75%"
Why do you need more bloodpoints? Basekit 100% to bloodpoints? Are you mad? xD
no, i'm being logical... after all the devs doesn't balance around high level play so for their logic they should get rid of the grind once and for all (or utterly reducing it), in that way casual players will have more fun experimenting perks and not being forced to use the same perks everytime...

There is always a weak link, not every match u get tournament level players. I play nurse but I main GF more than any other killer, and my results at endgame are always consistent with both.
u gotta play ur strengths, if pallets are such problem for u maybe Spirit Fury will help. But dont come to me and say theres nothing to be done, cause there always are. Streamers consistently get win streaks while playing killer. I myself got a 17 streak last weak. (I consider a 3k a win btw)
what i should say then? probably those streamers and you have a different matchmaking from mine i guess... please, don't mention those streak of wins cause it's literal bullshit, we both know that those things aren't possible in the slightest if you face good survivors, and the survivors in those video well, they aren't good at all objectively speaking...

soloq is already hell the perk update will make soloq even worse, and nurse isnt changed at all, i love it.
idc what anyone says nurse is a literal SSS tier killer rn and is unbearable to play against. the minute i hear that screech im out.
See you on the other side.
you know, both your problems has the same problematic issue: SWF
think about it, without them killrates will improve and certain killers will be buffed/nerfed based on the new statistics... people use nurse also to deal with SWF groups, without those groups you'll probably see more veriety of killers...

Doesn’t have many choices? Bruh, how about not wasting such a long time on ONE survivor? As Killer u should ALWAYS go for the weak links not for the looping pros. Yet, for some prideful reason the killer gets all rilled up and insists on the mistake of wasting his time on a single person the whole match. Just out of spite I take it.
also, its not a gamble ??? Like if it took more than 20 secs to get ANYTHING from that player u should move on to another not waste the whole game on them. There are 4 players in any given match, not all of them are good at chases, find that player.
this is the average killer experience at high mmr (especially if you don't play with nurse and/or blight, without mentioning that you won't find a weak link and even if you did it's sufficient throwing down pallets to waste the killer's time): did a chase who last in a reasonable time and hook the survivor, 3 gens pop. at this point you don't have much choice if not securing a kill before the last gen pop and maybe get a second survivor during the endgame

everytime i run killer for 4 gens or till EGC, i have to get tunneled & camped.

"dont run me or be good at looping or ill tunnel & ruin the game for you since im bad at the game."
this game rewards bad gameplay & people who abuse horrible mechanics.
fact is that the killer doesn't have much choices at this point, if you wasted his time for allowing the other survivors to do 4 gens, you already did your job (as killer you need someone out from the game asap if you want have some chances, hence why killers tunnel... this is a gamble btw cause if you find someone able to loop you'll loose the game and you'll be forced to focus on a single survivor to get at least 1 kill). you see, the problem isn't you that must play bad on purpose, it's the game itself that with his mechanics support those kind of plays

How many threads do we need on this? Like DH? One for each person to have a whine.
BP's attached to perks is bad design. It's bad perk design. It's bad game design. Perks should be elements that adapt the gameplay, not the scoring of said game. It's been a crutch for (mostly) killers and SO boring to go against almost every game. And enough with the basekit nonsense, that just shuffles the issue sideways.
This change should have happened already long ago. Thank goodness at least it's soon.
If there is an issue with grind / currency allocations, there are multiple other avenues to address it - perks is not one of them.
Sheesh.
maybe, but they should have implemented it as a basekit feature... for your logic then prove thyself, beast of prey, thrill of the hunt and no one left behind should have their bp bonus erased... (despite those perks won't gave you more bp after the trial but they'll increase your bp earned DURING the trial)
-
@Zeidoktor said:
"if bbq and wglf's problems were the bonus bp..."
I don't think they were the problem, so much as the reason they had a meta-level pick rate, or, at least, Barbecue did going by the quoted post above this one, and reducing the pick rate of the most used perks and offering alternatives is the whole point of these of these updates.
We're Gonna Live Forever likely got its point stacks removed because they were removed from Barbecue and Chili. Though it being a much weaker perk than Barbecue without those BP gains is also why it got its Soul Guard effect added in.
They tried to leave the perks as something worthwhile even as they remove one of the main incentives for using it. Barbecue was solid enough on its own, WGLF got an effect added that makes it play largely the same but used in a different way.
4 seconds of aura reading IF the survivors are 40 meters away from you, not in a locker, not behind a gen and without perks that can counter aura reading... decisely not worth it... the only reason that i took that perk was for the %bonus of bloodpoints, now with this feature gone i don't have reasons to take this perk at all...

If you've ever played against a basement Trapper you know how boring, tedious and frustrating it is when you are hooked in the basement or are trying to get the save. Well, it's about to be buffed. Next patch:
- You won't be able to DH through traps.
- Each generator will take +10 seconds longer.
- Monstrous shrine will be buffed meaning basement trappers can use hooks in the basement for Pain Resonance and survivors could die 20% faster with some nifty proxy camping.
Now imagine Trappers using Agitation, Iron Grasp/Deadlock, Monstrous Shrine, Pain Resonance. With bloody coil addon (injures you upon disarming). Now imagine a teammate is hooked in shack basement. Your solo queue. Gens are taking longer, teammates are dying faster and there is no chance anyone is getting out the basement without DS.
Awful, right?
TLDR; The next patch buffs camping, not good.
Extra rambling:
Even if you somehow disarm a trap and get the unhook without being killed... by the time you're back up the basement stairs the trapper would have already reset his traps. Now there's NO possible escape because of the DH nerf. You're dead and so is the unhooked survivor unless they have Decisive Strike.
The only thing the Trapper needs to do is get one early(ISH) down somewhat close to the basement and camp from there.
if you go in the shack and lose the chase against him you deserve the basement, period... don't go there if you want to avoid to be camped to death (same when you are aganist a leatherface, stay away from that place)

What's wrong with picking perks that happen to counter certain killers when Survivor players don't actually have any idea which Killer they are going to play against? NEVER have I seen anyone but Stealth Killer mains complain about Spine Chill. Just deal with it, just like Survivors have to 'just deal' with dumb stuff like Devour Hope. Blah blah, Stealthies aren't top tier. BUT some people simply are specifically weak to these killers, based on their playstyle. Thus they may be running SC just to counter their own weakness and not because it's some meta crutch.
My weakness is Hag, but I'm not going to run certain stuff every game just to ensure I can counter her every time. Some of those perks you named may have specific counters to a specific Killer, but how that is a bad thing in the grand scheme of things when there are so many perks and Killer combos? Would love that to be explained.
What's wrong? Try to play a match with spirit aganist 4 IW users who know what they are doing, then come back to tell your experience... You'll quickly see what's wrong when certain perks can literally nullify the killer's power...

Iron Will wasn't a slight nerf it was a solid nerf. Spine Chill got nerfed so bad it makes Premonition look good, Self Care is essentially worthless on it's own now.
Yeah Off The Record sounds bad on paper, if they add the same effect that DS has about it deactivating after gens powered it's not as crazy as it sounds.
Overzealous got buffed yeah? They have to incentivise gen perks for survivors now since they are increasing the charges of gens. That's probably also why Prove Thyself wasn't touched.
Unbreakable isn't an OP perk anyway it does nothing unless you get slugged.
Adrenaline is still strong yes but i never thought of it as meta.
Borrowed Time buff does seem odd i'll admit not sure exactly what they were thinking.
since when selfcare is meta? maybe among solo survivors since you normally can't trust of other players (i had people running away from me, crouching in a corner without doing nothing instead of healing me while the killer was to the other side of the map... i wish i was joking about this) and a simple medkit will be better under all the aspects
iron will didn't received the stridor treatment tho, so in my book was slightly nerfed in comparison
spine chill isn't really a meta perk but it was nerfed for good reasons (still i would also give a buff in other area since they essentially erased everything useful from that perk)
genspeed doesn't needed any kind of buff or nerfs imo, to simply put survivors needed some new objective to do (m1 on a gen for 90 second is boring and not so much interactive), so creating those perks were a mistake from the beginning
unbrekable is op... i lost the count for how many matches turned from a complete victory in a draw or defeat for that perk... slugging is one of the strongest tactics that killers have at their disposal and this perk essencially deny the effectiviness of that tactic... this alone is extremely worth it to be taken into account
usually i didn't found many adrenaline users, but recently i found at least 2 of them in every match for some strange reason
bt well, nothing to say about it, you were perplexed too about this...

IW might of been over nerfed too....imo it should of been lowered to 80-90% so survivors could still stealth a bit but Stridor could be useful again and the can't use while exhausted makes so feasible sense.
DS was a good choice but PTB will tell if 3 sec is too much of a Nerf or not.... personally 4 sec might of been better since you lose 1 sec to the animation.
DH is now will take skill to use and not oh no I made a mistake I'll hit E to gain some ground to that pallet.
But like IW some other etf why they do that was Ruin losing its regression and is disabled after 1 kill....if they made it a regular perk then all that is fine but it's a Hex...it's supposed to be stronger than normal perks.
overall this huge perk rework will favour survivors due to the nerfs that slowdown perks received, yes even if the gens now takes 90 seconds instead of 80... this won't affect much low and mid mmr, but it's overkill for people who play in high mmr that will be utterly forced to use the same 2 killers in order to have a chance

no because i'm right... adrenaline? same as before. dead hard? reworked, stronger in some situations, worse in others. prove thyself? same. BT? BUFFED. unbrekable? same as before. IW? slightly nerfed. you even gain new meta perks like off the records and overzealous
-
more than kill rate, the killer players will start to decrease... i was already tired from the actual situation, now with those changes it will get worse in high mmr... since i don't want to sweat in every single ######### match, playing only with the same 2 killers in order to get a slightly chance to get a couple of kills (if i'm lucky) aganist premades who also use broken stuff (map offerings, instaheals, brand new parts, etc etc coupled with the SAME 6 meta perks...), i'll probably took a LONG break from this game... and i don't think that i'll come back soon (unless they'll start to get ######### done)

That is not correct. DH, SC, SC, IW - these perks got absolutely destroyed and will almost completely disappear. Only Self Care with Botany Knowledge will remain to be used - and is "better" than before if you used them together.
DH wasn't nerfed... They literally reworked that perk (in a lazy way I might add since it's essentially a styptic agent on demand for 1 second)... It's stronger in some situations and worse in others, but overall it wasn't nerfed to the ground as you said. Selfcare didn't deserve to being nerfed so much (at least bothany was buffed to compensate and if you run both you won't waste too much time healing). spine chill was a bit overnerfed (still it deserves some nerfs since that perk completely countered stealth killers) and iron will needed to be nerfed since this perk alone was enough to completely counter spirit's power, without mentioning that it was nerfed also to put on the same spot with stridor (and still it was nerfed less than stridor)

Instead of making perks with an cool idea legit and strong they nerf good and legit perks just to change the meta?
Not recognizing that people choose "meta perks" because they are good at what they should do?
Take Detectives Hunch. When it was released no one was playing it because it was bad af. Nowadays it's good and you can add so much coordination to a solo team.
or Windows of Opp. What it was released it was so bad and boring. Now it's legit. It's good and fun to play.
so WHY are they killing them? Iron Will. Iron Wil lwas asbolutely fine and so fun to play. And they nerf it because they don't like people having fun with it? Or Spine Chill? They removed a perk from the game (technically) just to "change the meta".
We asked you to change the meta in order to change perks or buff the idea of a perk so it becomes playable.
Lets take a random perk: Solodarity. Why is no one playing it. Because it's bad. Because it's boring. If it would increase the speed you heal others by lets say 50% or 75% way more people would like to play this perk. Because it adds an dynamic playstyle. Making things faster, more efficient.
We'll make it. The Killer can still be ut of TR and still make it back to the hook and chase the unhooked. If it was like 300% for like 20 seconds way more people would like to run it because the incentive of the perk would actually work out. The live-version doesn't work and perks like BT instead are working out.
I hope you take back the Iron Will/ Selfcare / Spine Chill changes. It doesn't makes any sense. If you want new meta perks then make boring, weak and unworthy perks worth it to run them. But telling people how to play the game and nerf playstyles just because people like playing certain ways is NOT okay.
i understand selfcare (at least bothany knowledge will be buffed, so if you run it with selfcare it shouldn't be problematic), but iron will was nerfed for good reasons (try to play spirit with a team of iron will users... you'll become a 4.4 killer without power at this point... the nerf was done probably to put in line with stridor too) and spine chill destroyed stealth killers (still ngl that perk will be overnerfed if the ptb will go live)... also it's curious that you mentioned only survivor's perk without mentioning any killer perk...
-
the only nerfed perk about the survivor's meta was decisive strike, everything else is the same or even BUFFED (dead hard in some cases and borrowed time)
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
They got rid of the aspect of Dead Hard that removed any and all killer player agency (DHFD) and replaced it with something reliant on hit validation. Plus it's a nerf so people will stop using it even if it's still good out of instinct because they cannot fathom something remaining good after a nerf. So it's an absolute win here
it's not a nerf, it's a rework... a bad one i might add since this is overall a buff (before once they used dead hard to reach a pallet they were forced at least to throw it, now they can avoid to waste the pallet and they'll also get a mini sprint burst for being hitted)... it's nerfed only aganist certain killers (i'm thinking about trapper since you can't avoid his traps anymore, deathslinger since he can wait the second thanks to his reel and legion since he will apply directly deep wound with feral frenzy)

For any of the killers out there that are getting frustrated with gen rushing during the event its really bhvrs idea for this since we have to finish the gens to get our rewards survivors will try to get them done as fast as humanly possible. If we were to get them just like the killer does I'm sure you would see a lot less of it not 0 but a lot less. When I do play on a swf we literally wont do anything but gens till they are gone and then try to look for the invitation since they are impossible to find.
you know, you can unlock them also as killer... more easier and require only 12 matches... fact is: are you willingly to endure matches full of toxic swf tryharders with broken stuff and meta perks?

So when this first started I made a post about trying to keep the event chill for everyone and just try to share good vibes. So much for that.
My killer matches end under 6 minutes without 4 slowdowns, and survivor matches are facing 4 slowdowns on blight and nurse.
There is literally no winning. If I try to let survivors have a chill match they end it before I can even get BP, basically wasting my flans and walking out with no crown. If I don't run the survivor meta I'm tunneled and slugged the entire match. Same story.
I really do not need those perks for more than half of my games. But this event has been ######### insane and highlights the worst of dbd. The amount of times I've been sent to The Game or RPD and get rolled by mid survivors. I can be downing them fast, but that doesn't matter if they're split up, or putting 5 miles of distance between us, or even just playing on a rigged map.
I've tried to stay positive, and I normally don't get this way while playing. But it has been hell. Damned if you do or damned if you don't.
welcome to dbd

Nerf nurse and you won't see anyone playing killer anymore. Shes the only true killer in this game, others are a joke, apart from blight. And she has counterplay, LOS and edge of the map are best against nurse, and also rocks rocks and more rocks.
again i'm not here to ask a nerf for this killer, i'm speaking in general since i saw A LOT of people complaining about it... for me she's fine, without mentioning that her hitboxes should be fixed when she blinks (looking at you basement and hills)

She doesn't ignore every defense. But try again
elaborate... a killer that can go through walls, pallets and windows is a killer that ignore every kind of obstacle (the only exception are lockers)

What are you going to do about SWF on comms? Getting massive amounts of info for free is BS.
one word: NOTHING

They are a whiny bunch that jumped on one of Otz tweets.
Then you have those that move goal post whenever its convenient for them.
Believe it or not, the 3s cooldown per blink drastically changed how Nurse was played. Because Nurse main have gotten used to it doesn't mean you have the right to destroy her further.
i never talked about nerfing her... in my opinion she was a "mistake" because she ignore every defense that survivors have... even the spirit was modified in order to give counterplay for survivors (audio cue and reworked addons, now she is a pale shadow of herself, too much weak to even gave a challenge for good solo survivors...), but the nurse is different for the simple fact that you can't nerf her and gave counterplays for survivors... her power itself can't be countered (give more counterplays that she actually has such as being stealthy and break LoS is impossible). You have 2 options at this point:
1 completely rework her power (this will probably upset some people)
2 nerf her so much that she will be freddy'ed (aka nerfed into the ground and she won't have appeal anymore)

i just discovered a bug (or a intended thing idk at this point). if you collect the invitation AFTER the gates are open, you won't gain the masque

Is there anyway to counter him? Everytime i face him he's either getting a 3 or a 4k, rarely with all gens done. Most of the time i see him with the add ons which make the survivors start the trial with nightfall and the one that apply the exposed status effect on the last seconds of nightfall.
Nightfall is so dark - i like the horror effect it adds tho, so i'm fine with that - but even a flashlight doesn't help a bit. I really don't know how to counter him besides the "holding w" playstyle which is just ridiculous. He's only kinda getting countered when mindgaming his anti loop ability which is quite underwhelming considering he's not only an anti loop killer.
If there's anything i need to know, tell me. I'm open for ideas.
W shift when he's leaving his remnant, close lockers and congrats, now he's only a m1 killer without nothing to aid him in chases

The only person that should appreciate the moment of kindness should be the person you let escape, you expect someone you killed to watch you let them escape and be like "Awww they're so sweet!!!" "Omg they let them out what an amazing person, they deserve everything and more!!!" ????????
No, just a "ritual"... Let just say that's the reward for the last standing survivor... Clearly you also have to earn it (in my book a survivor that kept me busy enough without dead hard or some broken ######### and isn't toxic is one worth to get the hatch)

Just had a match where the killer killed everyone, but let the last person escape...
It's the anniversary and everyone but one person used a flan... how rude could you be. If you're gonna let one person escape you should of let everyone farmed some bloodpoints before you killed them at-least but nope... just rude as hell.
He had the audacity to say it was fun at the end-game chat... wasn't fun.
You know, it's for people like you that I stopped to give the hatch to someone and kill everyone without thinking twice... People doesn't appreciate kindness, so what's the point of being kind if people didn't appreciate it and/or even bash you for this?
