It is not bannable unfortunately. I think.
I'm quite convinced on the contrary, since as I said it's stated in their game rules that obtain unfair advantages through stuff that isn't even supposed to be in the game is considered an exploit, therefore bannable, but aside this I'm tired in general about this topic being "unclear" if you know what I mean and i want a definitive answer once and for all from the devs

Hello Killer Mains,
I get toxic survivors in every game. How do you deal with them? Most of the time the game is not even fun, cause i cant play a chill round. I literaly camp in every game cause i try to punish toxic behaviour like this. What are you doing when you meet toxic survivors?
If someone start to being toxic, I'll just simply camp the 1st survivor that I catch, doesn't matter if I kill someone or not... Wanna play only for pissing off the killer? Fine, you are free to do it, but you'll only get an unfun match...

It does require some odd gameplay to get iridescent emblems in each category with those Killers... Plague is especially awful for trying to get her Adept achievement. I actually earned iridescent emblems in all categories once as Plague and only got Ruthless with 32k points. Very weird
For the plague achievement I literally avoided to use her power... You can still gain advantage by using the apples addons (you'll start with more corrupted pools... For some reason her corrupt purge still count as hit, while being broken for the vile purge isn't counted for the brutality category)

And I stopped caring about kills and just played and didn't try to ruin the survivors fun. Works our better for me. I still get 3 and 4 kills most games. Don't tunnel and never camp.
Hmf, people DOESN'T DESERVE such kindness. Maybe I've a mmr too much high, but you can't play chill with survivors. Every single game I've (toxic most of the times) people who use the usual small pp build with instaheals and toolboxes with BNP, while I play with brown addons... actually I'd rather do few points but kill everyone IF the survivors that I faced were toxic or play to win instead of chilling than leaving everyone alive by playing fair... You reap what you sow

For me its betwen Wraith and Hag.
Wraith: Can traverse the whole map in seconds while not knowing where he is,thrives off camping,slugging,tunneling,always uses noed.Also his power takes almost no skill to use.
Hag: Camping simulator.
Twins hands down. Boring gameplay and they are good only for camping someone (before they were relatively good also for slugging, but you know, devs increase Victor's cooldown to 5 seconds...)

And that is why DS is meta. Not because it is a good perk, but because it counters that strategy and makes the game playable for survivors.
Stop tunnelling, and DS becomes garbage.
Or keep tunneling and dispose of that survivor (that's actually the better choice most of the times). This perk doesn't work properly as a anti tunneling, it's still a free escape in the end game, so ironically this perks will enforce tunneling. I want to add a personal anedoct: since I was tired of seeing people winning thanks to perks that "outplay" me every time (tbagging at the exit and being extremely toxic for no reasons), I did an experiment: I started to play optimally, without caring about the fun of the others (I must also thanks some survivor mains on this forum if I started to play in that way) and I must say that it works MUCH better.

Boo hoo survivors have a counter to my optimal but unfun strategy im so oppressed feed me sympathy
This is the proof that you aren't even able to read... I just said that killers that won't do those things are more penalized... Eh, you want more bubba facecampers I guess, have fun to press m1 on a generator or being facecamped to death then...
-
But that wasn't the main point of my thread anyway.
-
Hmf, you are without hope... 1st of all tunneling is an optimal strategy (one of the best if not the best I might add, regardless of DS being present or not, so if I want win I would tunnel without troubles. Now, you are free to don't believe me but I'm a guy that avoid of tunneling someone cause I actually care about the fun of the others... This combo will hurt more people who play like me (gen patrol, no camping or tunneling) than actual tunnelers cause you literally waste a perk (unbreakable) for nothing since if a killer want you dead would simply eat the DS and kill you asap...

Pop, ruin, undying, thana, tinkerer...those are mediocre perks? Tell me you're biased killer main without telling me you're biased killer main
Can those perks stop survivors from doing generators? No? Well well... Also you are forgetting another little thing: unless you are a fast killer like blight and billy, those perks aren't a big problem... I lost the count the times that I see a killer with pop that couldn't actually use it cause generators were completed BEFORE his arrival

Yes, you're funny. You have counterplay, do not tunnel.
If you do and they have that combo, it's your mistake.
Before writing dumb things you should think... 1st of all tunneling is like genrushing, it's a boring strategy that will give you few points, but the funny thing is that survivor actually have the tools to counter tunneling, while killers have mediocre perks for that matter (without mentioning that survivors are 4 and killer only 1, so he can't literally being everywhere to apply pressure) and secondly, we are talking about counters, and as I said before even if you don't tunnel you can't counter that build

I'm sure this is not a new experience for many people since SBMM was implemented, but there have been a drastic increase in the amount of face camping and genuine tunneling killers I have gotten. SWF or solo queue, it really seems like every game. Before SBMM, it was once in every 10 games, it really wasn't that big of a deal to me. Now, it is literally every single game. I've started taking screenshots and posting them in my discord when I get face camped. It doesn't matter what perks I run. It doesn't matter what I do. Decisive strike, borrowed time, unbreakable, soul guard, dead hard, sprint burst, flashlight, no flashlight, medkit, toolbox. It genuinely does not matter: someone on my team or myself gets face camped to death or tunneled to death. I mean genuine tunneling. Like, going out of your way to not hit other survivors tunneling. Waiting out for BT tunneling. It's not even like these killers are getting "genrushed", they are genuinely face camping at 5 or 4 gens left. What is the big deal? I play killer a LOT, I have probably 2,000 matches on Huntress. I have NEVER played like this. Then they complain about their queue times going up. Do you understand that you are the problem? People complaining are the ones contributing to the issue. No one wants to play survivor when they get face camped every game. No one wants to play survivor when they get tunneled at 5 generators for no reason. My friends and I have contemplated just straight up quitting the game when we've all dedicated 2k+ hours into it. The better question is: why have the devs not addressed it? There's NO way they don't know what's going on. There's NO way they haven't been reading forum posts. I want answers because this is absolutely ridiculous. This game is rapidly going downhill because 50% of the playerbase wants to play like animals. Playing to win =/= playing like a jackass.
Dude, things goes in both ways, don't think that it's only killer's fault... Since they have implemented the new mm, I don't even remember the last time that I had a chill match without toxic survivors carried by the usual meta build and BNP, instaheal and keys...
-
@latinfla4 said:
It's been almost a week enough time for everyone's mmr rating to have settled...time to give bhvr some data.
So do you like the new system?
Simple yes or no and why😎
For me yes as solo survivor(better teammates who do gens instead of hiding)and no as killer (the killer lobbies are ridiculous when you get high sbmm along with sweaty games)
Absolutely no. Before the new mm I could have some chill matches, now it's a sweatfest with toxic people with meta perks in BOTH sides (killer main)
-
And this is where I have issues: everytime that something is going in a unexpected way, they aren't "transparent" towards their playerbase. I mean, it's so difficult for them say WHY they removed the voice? I'm not asking too much... Another example is the infamous key rework: they said that they were planning to rework them ALONGSIDE with mori... Well, here we are, still awaiting after 1 year
-
@konchok said:
You do not understand how licenses work or what you are entitled to with that purchase. Your purchase is like a ticket to an amusement ride. BHVR can at any time make changes to that product, this includes killer powers, appearance, and voicelines. To the extent of a full rework that may include parts of that product being removed entirely. You do not have any right as someone who has purchased the DLC to make design choices in regards to that product.
Get a basic understanding of laws before you make yourself look silly.
As I said before I don't particularly care about what they did to pinhead, but I heard that a lot of people complained about this issue and mostly because devs never told us the precise reasons why the voice was removed...

No it's fair and balanced. It's used to be OP. But since it's latest balance it's in a decent spot. Anyway if you think someone has DS either wait for it to go away, or eat it up.
Aside in the end game phase, when you can literally open the gates with that perk active (devs forget to add the escape gates to the conditions that will disable DS). It would be perfect if DS will be disabled after all the generators are done (in exchange it can be used 2 times, but with less time available)
-
@PanicSquid said:
No. As dumb as insidious is as a perk, we should not make survivor perks supercede killer perks or powers.
Kindred with Open Handed can cover a pretty large area, if you mix that with a map like Midwich or the Game, that could really hinder normal stealth killers who aren't camping the hook, but close enough because you hooked the person in a central area.
For that purpose this perk can be slightly modified: the detection range can stack with open handed, but the detection range of undetectable killers will be the same (16 meters if I'm correct), without being affected by open handed

Finishing a gen isn't fair? What can a Survivor actually do that isn't fair, DC is about all.
Tunneling and camping suck for the one person you are doing it to and, has been discussed at length throughout this forum.
Play how you like though.
Never said that it's unfair, I stated only the fact that doing this and tunneling are the same concept: you did your objective optimally. Being tunneled isn't fun, but it's part of the game, if a thing like that happens I won't throw insults or harass the killer (or wrote a - rep on his/her profile), same if survivors try to genrush, no one will get points most of the times and probably you won't have much fun, but it's part of the game, deal with it or leave

but that is the thing SB can be used when ever you want
Wrong, you can do your best for using it in certain situations (keep the exhaustion at 39 seconds in order to use it when the killer will come for you), but you can't directly control it (once you start running it will activate no matter what). Dead hard can be activated by pressing a button, anytime you want.
-
@Caleegi said:
Dead Hard isn't even that powerful you just clearly aren't that good with handling it. The majority of the time it doesn't really work cause the survivor misses the opportunity or they just get knocked down 5 secs later anyway and you are saying that just cause its used a lot it should be nerfed? Ok well lets play this game...how about we then nerf ruin, bbq, pop goes the weasel, tinkerer, corrupt intervention etc and some survivor perks that are fair like self care, urban evasion, etc just cause they are used a lot? that would be fair wouldn't it? now do you see how flawed your logic is?
Oh another point to add is, if someone uses dead hard most killers are faster than survivors, it does not take that long to catch up lol and yeah some killers do struggle like Trapper but most perks he struggles with cause he is weak af and i think they are going to rework him after Legion if i am correct? but also you can literally just bait someone really easily into using dead hard and they fail.
Improve your game style.
Ah because you see every match that I do, isn't it? Please... If you don't have valid points about your thoughts just don't wrote anything at all. We are talking about dead hard, but since you want do the part of the "that guy", let me refresh your memory... The old ruin was changed FOR THIS REASON despite people was fine with that perk (only newcomers complained about it, and since behavior want a game balanced for newcomers in order to attract more people to this game...). Bbq was already nerfed (and it's a joke to counter it) and pop was reduced his timer from 60 to 45 seconds, thinkerer was changed cause it was completely useless (but probably was changed cause they were reworking hillbilly) and if you complain about corrupt intervention when the simple counter is to move in another area or just waiting the time out for this perk well, i don't know what to say... Regarding the part of the useless survivor perks, even killers have ######### perks that nobody use, it goes in both ways... On this point I can agree with you: those perks need to be changed

Aw dang. Got outplayed. The perk was brought in for a reason. Same reason killers/survivors bring certain perks. Dead Hard is fine like almost all other perks. People only complain because it is in your face. Oh and sprint burst resets the chase as well but let's not talk about that 🤷♀️
I'd rather face en entire SB team than an entire dead hard team... SB can't be used whenever you want, while dead hard is INFINITELY better regarding this point. This alone is a thing that must be changed imo

It's because no one wants to accept the blame for their mistakes and poor game play. If they can blame someone else, anyone else, they will so they can feel better about completely screwing up something and causing their team to lose. That would require being able to process emotions that aren't anger, joy, or fear. So many people grow up not learning how to process emotions like guilt, shame, and embarrassment. The only reaction they know is to scream, rant, rave, and blame someone/thing else for their mistakes.
It's a shame, but you can see it all over social media. We as humans used to be able to process these emotions and learn from them. Now though, it's just blame the other person really loudly and it's not your fault. Society at large is responsible for this though. Just look at the popular streamers and other social media "influencers". They're the ones with the loudest mouths and the nastiest takes on things, not the ones who are polite, courteous, and willing to take the blame for their mistakes.
I couldn't agree more with what you said

lol Did you read what i said? "work as intended". Its also 2nd because those stats are taken from the games entirety. That image you probably saw? 2015-2020(iirc). As a whole. Since day 1. Before DS. Dedicated servers have been around less than half its life span. Since Dedicated Servers, extending loops is what its used for now. Using it normally typically gets you killed about 85% of the time.
Which begs another, BIGGER question. Why isn't DS up there if killers are just SO scared of it and it only got a recent(actual) nerf? Ive literally heard more people complain about DS and Sprint Burst than i have dead hard. Theres 4000 topics on "nerf ds".
You have no real suggestion for it... Blind the killer and get a speed boost? From a perk called Dead Hard? lol ok... Thats a lazy as hell suggestion. i have no choice but to assume youre just complaining about a perk that outplayed you on ONE killer(Trapper) or youre just trolling because youre bored. Unless you come with a proper suggestion, these are the reactions youre going to be met with.
Statistically, you need to complain about Lithe or Sprint Burst(Bloodpact?) since have more impact on distance versus the killer. DH is just situational and the survivor can wait to use it. That's the complaint here. People are just mad about getting outplayed at a one time use before a cooldown occurs. If they could spam it, I could see the complaint. Bait it out like everyone else does. You can't really bait out other exhaustion perks like you can DH.
Off Topic: But in all honesty when it comes to him, Trapper should not even be triggering his own traps. He's the only killer who can mess himself up with his own ability and it doesnt need to work that way. Period. I dont even play killer that much but that has never made a single bit of sense to me, then he's limited on trap placement at the beginning, relying on perks like Corrupt and Ruin to get started. I have a whole rant on why Trapper is DBDs poor abused step child, which we'll be here all day if i start.
1st of all I contested his purpose cause it's unhealthy for the game (I already wrote why and I'm tired to say it again) 2nd i speak for experience, not only for seeing the image that devs release about the most used perks: i play in red ranks and the most common exhaustion perk is dead hard which bring us to my initial question: if it's so bad why it's the most used exhaustion perk? Everyone for some reason keep avoiding this question it seems... 3rd DS was less popular than dead hard for a couple of reasons: DS is behind a dlc, dead hard is free and it was sufficient a single DS for avoiding your entire team to be tunneled (cause obsession), now that the obsession is always present in a game tunneling is a gamble, but since it was nerfed people stopped to using it (at least the ones who use it outside of his purpose, doing generators in the killer's face and exploiting it while doing saves (for me it was never nerfed since I always use it for his purpose).
3rd I'm not a developer, mine was a simple suggestion. It isn't my job to create and modify perks
4th as you said you don't even play killer much often, so you probably faced survivors who use it badly. As I said before, bait it isn't a solution cause it works only aganist average survivors
-
@ReikoMori said:
This logic requires two things to be true. 1) That the opposing sides feel the same level of stress and 2) That while the game is unbalanced, which it always will be, that the imbalance is something that doesn't actively make one side's experience worse than the other.
Neither of these things are true.
Killers are needed for the game as much as survivors, but killers tend to have a worse time enjoying the game. A lot of the game's current balance is counter intuitive letting them play the game in ways that don't require becoming extremely stressed and emotionally invested. A lot of your time is spent after potentially 5 years of play is still feeling forced to use the same builds and killers. This is the only game I've ever played where the higher I get in rank the less fun I actually have and the more stressed I become.
Survivors conversely get a lot of leeway to try new things, have a team that can take some of the pressure off and if it you want more than a number advantage you can actively just play their side with actual friends and have way more fun, get rewarded without having to put as much in and still get to high rank. The game caters more to their enjoyment as survivors are getting more and more perks to actively fight the killer while the killers aren't get the support their side needs to make the game less stressful overall.
Survivors also flat out dictate the base terms of the game because they interact with the game more. Gen times aren't set based around killer needs because we don't do gens, but gen speed has a drastic effect on killer gameplay. There are few perks that are particularly good at slowing gen speed down consistently and can be outright overridden by survivor perks. There have been several points in DBD's history where the game was legitimately unplayable for killers. Thankfully the devs solved those problems eventually, but the fact they happened at all has made killers enjoy the game less and be less trusting in their decision making.
Killers aren't poor put upon angels by any means. Every player has the potential to be jerks, but to say the game doesn't have a tangible balance issue that leans towards survivors is a bit disingenuous.
Did i say something related to balance? I never said that this game is killer or survivor side, I just said a fact: this game could be more enjoyable if people aren't toxic

Well, a good start will be taking actions towards people who throws tantrums in the end chat and starting to take seriously reports with screenshots evidence... I lost the count how many times they insult me or told me to kill myself (honestly I don't care about those things, but not everyone is like me and in the long run this is quite annoying) and those people that I reported are still playing like nothing happened...

Considering DH is the worst Exhaustion perk in the game right now because of server instability, you are trippin. Hard. You will spend more time on the ground Exhausted than you will having the perk work as intended.
If it's so bad I'll ask you again: why it's one of the most used perks? Especially in red ranks? Did you read what I wrote previously? I did valid examples about this perk and why it should be changed... And I'll say it again despite I already said it before: good people use it to gain distance and extent loops, not for avoiding hits...

But dead hard is fine. If someone brings it into a match and use it for distance then they likely brought it in for that purpose. So they decide to loop in a certain way knowing they can get a couple extra loops because of the perk.
This is the main problem about dead hard. As I said before, killers can't waste much of their time on chasing survivors, and quite frankly, being outplayed by a button is really nasty. Again, the problem about this perk is when people who know how to loop use it... It's already difficult to mindgame strong survivors (without mentioning that some people still use the stretched resolution despite it's considered a cheat), now imagine if you won a mindgamed against those people, but a perk essentially reset the chase, wasting the time and the effort that you put in it... Didn't you feel robbed? Be honest...

What? There are practically the same amount if not more "useful" killer perks then there are survivor perks. Maybe try playing without a complete killer meta build every game and start enjoying it. Not every game needs to be a ruin, pop, undying sweat fest. Otherwise you get into this mindset that everytime you loose its because this perk or that was swf when in reality you did just get outplayed.
Playing without perks that slow down the game against survivors who hold m1 on generators is IMPOSSIBLE, this is a fact... Especially if you want to play "fair" (aka not tunneling nor camping)
@Firellius said:

Ruin Pop Undying is an overperforming combo compared to the rest but that doesn't mean the rest are as bad as the average survivor perk.
Out of Jill and Leon, Counterforce is probably the best perk and it's purely competitive with Small Game. You can maybe make a case for Rookie Spirit though.
But before that we had Yun-Jin with not a single good perk, before that we had Elodie with not a single good perk, before that we had Felix with one good perk (At a stretch), then Cheryl, with no good perks, then Zarina's For the People.
There's way too many survivor perks that are too conditional (Autodidact, Deliverance, Solidarity, Wake Up, Flashbang) or just have no value (Red Herring, Off the Record, Wake Up, Hope, Premonition, Deja Vu)
There's certainly more good survivor perks than most people think, as a handful of perks are underrated, but there's no way to make the case that there's more useful survivor perks than killer perks.
Not a single good perk... You are underestimating the perks that survivors have...
Anyway don't derail the topic, the actual thread is about reworking dead hard. I've already explained why it should be changed...

A quick warning against this mistake: option A being used a lot doesn't necessarily mean it's OP, it can also mean options B through W are underperforming.
A -huge- chunk of survivor perks are inconsistent and/or worthless, so it's natural that the few good perks there are get more use.
Huge chunk... Survivors have more useful perks than killers... Killer meta was always the same because without slowdowns perks it's almost impossible to play killer (unless you are against inexperienced survivors who don't even know what looping is)

It literally never works and most of the time survivor ends up exhausted on ground. Lol.
If it's so bad, then let me ask you something... Why people use it more than any other exhaustion perks? Also I'll say it once again, if the perk work or doesn't work, the servers are the problem, not the perk itself... As I said before the concept of this perk is unhealthy, since you can literally reset a good play of the killer that won a mindgame, extending a lot more the chase (don't forget that killers don't have time to do many mistakes, every second is important)

Not everything needs to be countered. With that said. Just being patient and waiting on your swing is the counter play. I catch so many window and pallet plays still it's rediculous
Imagine if killers have a perks that every 40 seconds allow them to "outplay" the chased survivor despite he throws down the pallet before you can even reach him... Wouldn't you be annoyed that a perk like this exists? This is dead hard in a nutshell... It's a dumb mechanic that must be eliminated imo

The people who say I favor killers on this message board will love this one. Dead Hard is fine IMO. Im willing to say that 9 out of 10 times I see dead hard. It leads to nothing. It leads to them slamming in to a wall. In to me. In to going nowhere. Why...? Because MOST times they arnt in position to truly make use out of dead harding for distance. Even good players who know how to use it and greed one more loop out of a pallet arnt always in that position to do so. I can't think of a single game Ive lost where I'm like "If they didn't have dead hard I would of won" A multitude of things had to go wrong for me(and sometimes not just because of maps and gen speeds)
The BIGGEST problem I ever had with dead hard was when I was learning nurse. I needed ANY blink I could get. And I got screwed so much from it. But even then I was a baby nurse. I probably wasn't getting a 4k rather I was going to hit 2-3 extra blinks or not.
When it comes down to it. Here's the basis of all my messages rather it's survivor or killer. Put the work in and get better instead of hating on perks that arnt completely game changing. Put the work in to baiting out dead hard. I get hits at windows still even when they dead hard for distance. Because I know better then to swing early
It's not about the typical phrase "git gud", it's about something that can't be countered.
