I read the description but you didn't look at the video right? the perk was lit up and a moment before I could drop the palette it turned grey. if it was the case that I didn't recover enough it should have not lit up.
I didnt saw that power struggle lit up when you started struggling. For me it doesnt looked like 25% wiggle progress. So i thought power struggle was active after picking up bc the game was still converting the recovery progress.
I guess the wiggle bar regresses in the pickup animation.

Its not a good idea to nerf swf to balance it.
1. There are many players which dont use the potential of communication. They just play with friends and talk with them.
2. Balancing someone with a counternerf makes balancing more complicated in the long run. It makes more work for the devs.
So its easier to bring solo survivor on the same level with swf. Both should have communication. Then you dont have to think about how a new killer or perk affects solo survivor and how it affects swf. For example Apex Legends introduced a ping system, so you can communicate with other players. Is voice chat still better? Yes, but the difference is not gamechanging most of the time.

Ppl also need to learn to do gens. I'd rather solo queue survivors learn to do gens then face camping killers learning to git gud. Somehow both are getting into red rank games but I run into face camping killers far less than ppl who are allergic to gens. It's gotten to the point where I've just accepted it and joke about it everytime some1 posts about gen allergies in the forums.
Yh but thats the point which makes camping strong. So you could solve both when you teach survivor to do gens. You would need to buff some killer bc when all survivor do gens, the game is over really fast.

Bad survivors should not be rewarded with free help to the detriment of the killer. Punishing the killer for doing well regardless of tactic is just granting an advantage to players for incompetence. New Killers get stomped by seasoned survivors and swf, but I don't see devs making adjustments for them.
Camping doesnt help kiler in the long run. It would be better for a killer, when they wouldnt rely on camping. You need to learn the game to have a chance against good survivor. And you dont learn most of the game when you camp.

don't worry, after a couple months of mmr if you get a bad killer you'll know it's because you're abad player since decent killers won't get to enjoy bad survivors any more.
Im not sure. Are there even enough players on the killerside for that?

@AnnoyedAtTheGame said:
It's bad matchmaking forcing killers to camp the hook. If the killer isn't having fun getting run all over the maps every game then what do you expect them to do?
I had a game earlier where I hooked my first survivor and 3 gens popped. Do you really think I'm going to go away from my only kill? No chance, I'm going to face camp you until dead. I face camped and tunnel my only kill. Well, I think I killed 1 more in the end game.
I'm a red ranked killer, yeah. So why do I get to go up against 4 man SWF lobby when I use my legion? I've a level 15 legion with basic perks. Same goes for Billy at 15, Huntress at 19, Doctor at 24, Pig at 15, Clown at 26, Spirit at 15, Legion at 15, Oni at 15, Slinger at 15, PH at 19. When I use these killers, do you think it's fair for me to go in with red ranked survivors?
It isn't about face camping, it's about how many matches that player has had before that game. Maybe that player had 5 matches against really good players and got 0 killa. Maybe in your lobby your team lopped him for ages.
The game isn't really balanced at all and is putting us killers in with really good teams.
Most of the time there are not 4 good players. Instead of chasing someone for 3 gens, the killer should learn to switch targets and to find the weak link. In my example the hag should have used traps in a chase. There is a lot to learn. So you need to improve instead of giving up (camping). When i started i had many matches like that, too. But i improved and now i win most of the time.
-
No you are too pessimistic. The dumbest people are the loudest. And yh humans love to be in a specific group. It doesnt have to be asymmetric. Having a main in overwatch is enough to flame someone. But thats the minority.
And compared to the past we are not that bad. People got killed for meaningless things. Only being an ######### is progress. You can change something like that only step by step.
-
When i play survivor and i see that the killer is not the best, im still trying my best. Bc most of the time that means my teammates are low rank too. When i realize my team is good i stop doing gens for a while. (at 1-2 gens left) But i still give the killer no easier chase.
When i play killer i sometimes try stupid things. But when this happens three times in a row, i just end it quick.
-
No, you should really read the perk description. Flipflop converts HALF of your recover progress into wiggle progress.

I'm coming up near 7k hours and I've seen maybe 3 hackers.
People are vastly misinterpreting hacking for game knowledge, ping issues, or not understanding how mechanics work.
While there will always be some, hacking is not even remotely a heavy issue in DBD.
I had the same hacker twice in two weeks. Second time he was in a swf with another hacker. Before that i never saw one.

I think he needs to either be slower or have less maneuverability with his chainsaw. I think it's insane that he can turn on a dime and even back up using his insta-down at 5.2 m/s
When bubba changes direction with his chainsaw, you can still just use a pallet. Bubba is strong in chase, but he cant ignore pallets and windows. And chasing is his only ability. So when you nerf that, he is useless.

Then you play against bad hag players. Hag is strong. You can argue that she has a hardcounter with object and flashlights, but other then that she is the third strongest killer.

DBD is competitive. Google the definition. It is not E sports but it is competitive. Bots are bad and they shouldn't be used in an MMR system. The devs love to nerf a killer because their precious stats say "They are over performing". A bot should not be compared to a killer controlled by a person.
Spirit is one of the best killers in the game. If you have a lot of spirit bots that are getting 0 kills on average do you think the devs should buff spirit? If we have a Legion bot that is somehow getting 3ks on average should we nerf Legion?
No. You dont understand. I said the people who are play dbd like a partygame probably doesnt care that its a bot. I would care. But i have 2000 hours in the game and i play to win.

Two things kinda need to happen.
Remove post-game chat. It's not doing good for anyone and the "GG WP" you get every 20 game is not worth the 10-15 toxic post-game chats.
Reduce the amount of bloodpoint grind. I think this hurts people the most as they feel like they are losing out if they can't maximize their BP gains.
I think you can hide the chat.

I agree. You can't make a bot that is as smart as a person. One game I play is Total War: Warhammer 2. One thing that sucks about that game is the difficulty. If your winning Normal without much effort and you start to raise the difficulty. The AI doesn't play better. It just gets more cheats. Instead of managing their cities or armies more efficiently they just get boosts to their income, their stats, less rebellions. I seriously think the devs cannot make a killer bot that would be nearly as good as a person.
Let's face it. If they could they certainly would have done it already. instead of trying to find ways to convince us to come back and that they don't favor new survivors.
But isnt a weak bot enough? For all the player who dont want to bother learning the game? Then they have their easy wins.
I always read they dont want to get better and dbd is not competitive. Then a bot should be good enough for them.
-
@Starr43 said:
I’m not a fan of a bot system.. I still think it would be better to have an option to potentially queue into games that had a disconnect and you gain bonus bps or something for joining late.
Dbd is pvp.. bots would suck the life out of the fun.
In private then sure, why not..
I wouldnt want bots either but theres a lot of players which are not good and dont want to be good. They need a killer/survivor which plays on their level.
It would be a good oppurtunity to let players learn the game without frustration.
-
@DaDuck said:
I don't think they ever are gonna add bots to the game..
But if they are then its gonna be to added to custom games. I don't think it would work in ranked games.
They added bots on DbD mobile. But they only appear when a player disconnects.
I think there are other games which have bots in public matches too. But you are probably right and bots will never be added.
-
This entire discussion is dumb. Even when we pretend for a second that more then 3 people in this forum consider to change their opinion after this discussion.
You just cant measure the balance of this game clearly with the catastrophic matchmaking system.
Then you have 1000 variables which can influence a match. Addons, maps etc.
I have for example no idea how someone can say killer are op. There is such a huge difference between the 22 killer. You need to specify more.
-
When MMR works and the current rank is only a measure of playtime, you start at rank 20 and its easier.
-
Yh it is no fun to sweat every game. But it would be fair, i guess. And i dont see a difference for a solo survivor in low ranks compared to now.
-
Yh obviously bots are better then some human player. What do you want to tell me with that?
-
When the bot would be closer to the skill level of the survivor then the killer which they normally get it would be more fair.
Or not?
-
@Shirokinukatsukami said:
Killers like to complain about how weak killers are just as much as survivors like to complain about how OP killers are.
Demo is one of those flavor of the month things killers like to complain about. Clown is one of the perennial ones.
Both are viable killers and all killers are viable at rank 1. Depends on the skill of the player.
Viable and viable at rank 1 is a huge difference. Using one finger at armwrestling against a toddler is viable, too, and thats how rank 1 feels for me most of the time.

This.
Gaming should be fun, not a torturous chore.
Yh everyone does that. But for everyone fun is something different. You cant change so many people. So when they make dbd no fun for someone, the best choice would be for they guy who has no fun to stop playing DbD.
How many will play DbD in 10 years anyway? How many will remember they played DbD in 20 years? DbD is not that important that anyone should stay when they have a chance to suffer through it.

If it got bad enough to the point that Behavior had to add a d/c penalty, why didn't they look into the reason why people want to d/c so much?
There are too many reasons. But you are partly right. While they cant fix everything they could atleast change some things which for the majority is unfun. But i have no idea how much work is it, what they tried etc. From my perspective i want many changes, but thats only my perspective.
But whatever it is that stops them doing this chances (Time, they dont want this changes, they dont care etc.) one thing remains. We dont need to play the game.

Which console doesnt allow you to turn crossplay off? On PS4 you can.
-
For me its the same. Morning is a lot harder. I get faster matchmaking with survivor, so that means there is are fairer survivor/killer ratio then in the evening. So the noob survivor play mostly in the evening, the good ones play always. (European server)
But it could be the weird matchmaking too. I never did understand why rank 10 killer gets rank 1 teams at the same time when rank 1 killer gets rank 10 survivors.
-
Infectious Fright. Its great as territorial killer. With STBFL you can make a massacer in a short time and you can interrupt people who try to escape a trap when they scream.
-
I can understand when something surprises you. The first time i saw the map addon which marks a location i was confused too.
But is it so hard to read the ingame description or atleast google it? Its a lot quicker.
And its nothing about you specific but this is a example that players dont know the game. And i bet 90% of the complainers in this forum are the same.

I play both sides, and both sides are easy. If players try to annoy me, whatever. If they win, whatever, I can easily accept that and dont run to the Forums and complain about something which happened in that one game that I lost, after winning the 5 games before and the 5 games after that game.
If you are thinking that you are doing anything special when playing Killer or that it is very skillful in general, you are wrong.
But I dont think a discussion makes sense, since I wont change my mind. I dont think that either side is hard to play, there are games which require far more skill than DBD.
Of course both sides are easy. Dbd matchmaking ia the same as playing a shooter only against people who have a 0,× KD. Noob stomping is always easy.
-
I know how hard solo survivor is. But i still play mostly solo for over two years. For some reason i dont care so much about survivor matches then when i play killer. I get frustrated when my teammates leave me, too, but 5 minutes after that i dont care anymore.
I have no expectations for a match. I try to escape but its not really an important goal. I cant force it with three randoms. I have just fun playing.

You can loop him normally, I'd argue even more so because you don't need to worry about lunging as he can't do that if he wants to use his tombstone, every pallet makes you 100% immune to getting tombstoned no matter how unsafe it is. Just do normal clever looping while keeping in mind that if you get out of position, you'll die and once you don't have tools to work with, hop in the closest locker or any other interaction that locks you into animation.
The moment of suprise and survivors lack of experience against it, is that makes purple tombstone so strong. Most people don't even know it exists, that much less how to play againt it.
But thats a myers who plays tombstone wrong. You only activate it when you can instantly kill a survivor. So you never waste it and have it always ready. When survivor play perfect you will lose. But you only need one chance and you play against three survivor. (Bloodlust, Pwyf, maybe Enduring/Spirit Fury) Tombstone piece myers is still weaker as top tier killer, but he is a lot better as every other myers.
-
@Kebek said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1903883#Comment_1903883
Purple one is more deceptive but overall has same counterplay as the pink one. Lockers hard counter both, survivors just don't know how to do that properly and almost never expect it, that's why they lose to the purple one so often.
Yh but even if you play like that you make it easier for the killer. He gets free locker grabs and you cant loop him normally. So where is the risk? He needs a little bit longer for T3, but when one survivor makes one mistake hes dead and otherwise you dont need to use t3 bc you grab them from lockers.
You can certainly beat him, but at this point normal myers is a joke for you.
-
@Kebek said:
Both tombstones have enough counterplay mechanics wise. Yes if you don't expect it, it can feel very unfair but you have tools to improve and counter tombstones if you know how they work. The main worry should be the purple tombstone as that one is more tricky but most of this applies to both.
Firt off, every time you face Myers, you need to expect tombstone if it's taking him more time then usual to get his first T3 and he's also not hitting anyone or very rarely. That's the first giveaway that something is wrong and you should expect tombstone soon. If he has pink tombstone you can also notice that his stance is different then normally - from the DBD wiki: "Using this Add-on will cause The Shape's left hand to be open instead of a closed fist, ready to grab." If you notice that, you 100% know he has it.
The actual counterplay that you do is mainly clever positioning and awareness. Before you hop on a gen, check how many windows, pallets and mainly lockers are nearby, you can't be tombstoned unless extremely close and not preforming any action like vaulting etc. You'll need those to put something between you and MM so that he can't tombstone you before you reach a locker as once you are inside one, he has to pick you up and can't mori you.
The only thing that should be changed about tombstones is that the purple one should also change Michael's stance as does the pink one. Other then that, they're high risk high reward addons that drastically change normal gameplay which is a good thing. Gameplay and opportunities to outplay other side are there, they're just different.
They have counterplay and the pink one is weak. But the purple has no high risk. Its just better then basekit myers. When you lose with it, then you would have lost with myers anyway.
-
I leave most of the time and i never taunt the killer except he taunted me. But sometimes i need this Chase-challenge which is almost done.
I know its not nice from me when i loop the killer next to the exit when he has no chance to get two hits and im just farming chase-points. But survivor matchmaking is sometimes an eternity and i just want to get the challenges done.
-
This "tech" exists for a long time. But not many use it. Idk whether the devs dont know it or dont care. Is there even a counter? Except for exhausting the battery of the flashlight?

Yea I agree, but I do also think that survivors are meant to actually strategise and coordinate but are not given the tools to do so, whereas comms gives a team that ability. Solo queue isn't really any coordination, it's just four players individually playing single player but are coincidentally in a shared group and have the same objective.
Yh its certainly a boost. It can decide a game and the devs should buff solos and killer. But its not this huge change like some say it is.

There is such a thing as playing as intended, otherwise design would be pointless and we’d be staring at blank screens.
By all means, find a way to turn a match into a chess game by moving pallets around the map. Burning barrels can be kings and queens.
Yh but it was never intended to loop too. The devs never intended to play like we play today. They changed the game accordingly. (Nerfed pallets etc)
They never did something against comms. Should they? Yes, they should give solo more communication options. But when they do not do it, players can use it.

The worst thing a SWF can do is be very coordinated and pair up on gens and strategically save/heal at the right times.
However comms don't help in chases, even with OoO. Killers get pressure by...killing people. How fast a killer shuts down chase and hooks is dependent on both his skill and also the skill of the survivor. Comms add no value but people don't realise that.
It would only make a difference if the entire team tried being stealthy and avoiding being chased by the killer at all costs, which comms would come in handy.
But I do find it funny that survivor is a team role and people ######### about SWFs actually communicating, strategising, and organising in said team role. What people really mean when they are anti-SWF is that they only want you to only coincidentally be a coordinated team. But solo queue is so busted because you're meant to be coordinated and strategise in a team role but not having any viable tools to do so with the people you're paired with.
The worst thing a swf can do is to have the social pressure to actually do gens. Some people are otherwise allergic to gens.
So when people would play serious in solo que and the matchmaking would work, swf would not be so different.

You can't be a survivor if you dont survive. And I've still piped when I was the only one
What i meant was that you dont get 100% a pip for only surviving and you can get a pip when you not survive. Otherwise you could camp the hatch from the start.
And the entity doesnt let you die, so you survive anyway. You survive even death ;)

@Bwsted said:
I think it took me 1.8k hours, but I also P3'd them, p3 maxed out a survivor and level 40'd all the others. It was the Blight chapter.
I think a new killer takes me about until mid-chapter as well, but I really lost a lot of drive to play. So, it would've been faster a few months ago.
I'm not sure I understand the last question. They only add one killer per chapter. If it takes me until mid-chapter to fully upgrade one, then it means I could do two max before the following chapter.
The last question was bc of every new killer adds roughly 300k bloodpoints to spend in the next chapter.
So 20 killers more would be 6million bloodpoints more and it would take 5 years, so i can say that at my current bloodpoints gain, i will be finished before the next chapter in 5 years too.
-
When killer would be more fun for most people, you would have a problem.
I mean 20% killer and 80% survivor would make an equal matchmaking time. Maybe less survivor bc not all survivor play til the end of the match.
It seems currently there are less then 20% killer. When both roles would be equal it would be a disaster. So i dont think the devs want that. They would need bots.
-
A windstorm addon and bone clapper as basekit would be a good change.
But im not sure about this last change. It teaches new players to play hit and run. But the aura reading reduces his skill cap. You dont need to guess where survivors are anymore.
And it would be a nightmare for newer survivors, so the devs will never consider it.
