You can't ban people for using a VPN in a video game.
You should, period.
If you are not able to do something, it does not mean that it is impossible.
You might be just lack of skills, or there were no intention at all.
Pick your choice.
-
Im just too tired to listen all the excuses about something that does not work as it supposed to.
-
I think i just lost all of my hope in humanity...
-
"so game system decided you are smurf and boosted your MMR maybe"
You re expecting too much.
-
Dear chinese, russian, american etc. players...
This is europe here.
Why are you in my lobby at all?
Rhetorical question....you dont have to answer...
-
Some devs are really addicted to hexes, indoor maps...which is really...awkward...
-
As a survivor? Prevent to being 4kd...at any cost.
As killer? Whatever...

Maybe I haven't played enough, but everything seems the same for me. I haven't noticed any change at all.
There are no major changes, sadly.
I have 3200+ hours at EU.
Without MMR, i had teammates with less than 100 hours consistently.
Killers were mostly russians or other noneu countries.
Games were dogshit, mostly.
Now, with MMR im getting teammates with equal playtime, or more than mine.
Killers are literally russians only, had two same guy twice.
Games still dogshit, mostly.
At the 5th blight round in a row, i said, okay, im done here.
So i can not ask for variety either anymore, since it looks like im expecting too much....

"you can't force people to play against something they don't want to"
That's why map offerings exist & nobody forced them to begin with, they chose to take the risk of loading into a game with the possibility that RPD might come up.
"If you DC, you accept to take a break"
It depends on the reasoning, but if it's because you just don't like the map, that's unfair on everyone else. I guess it's fine if you're doing it as Killer but it's annoying when someone brings a bonus bloodpoint offering or an old cake offering just for it to go wasted.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2422439#Comment_2422439
That doesn't prove #########, it proves you're just selfish.
"I guess it's fine if you're doing it as Killer"
Im not sure if i understand you correctly...but if you re trying to legitimate killer DCs, than you just lost me.
By the way, after a while you will realize that you get much more offerings than you will ever use and stop worrying about it anymore.
-
I get you, but at the same time, you cant force people to play against something they dont want to, for whatever reason it is. If you DC, you accept to take a break. You dont need to go deeper into the rabbit hole.

"Don't be so butthurt"
tell that to the survivors who cry and dc over a map they don't like.
DC pen system is back. "Crying" a litania about players dc-ing is kinda...uhm...pointless?
-
Dont be so butturt. Move on, and your eveining will be pleasant. Trust me.
-
It would be my pleasure to turn off this feature, but until i can get into a match faster with dodging consolers than with crossplay off, i have nothing to tell you.
I tolerate a maximum of ONE console player in my lobby. More than one is an auto dodge.
I also dodge certain countries, and players with less than 100 hours. Sorry, it is what it is.
The sad thing is, im getting these 3 type of players consistently, i usually have to dodge like 8-10 lobbies before i can get into a match...
...because if you feel that for any second you should dodge, you should dodge, trust me.
-
They admitted that they are collecting data in the background.
I do not care about technical deatails...lets see the facts...
I have 3200 hours and im getting matched c.o.n.s.i.s.t.e.n.t.l.y with players with 10-20 hours. (and players from specific region - very problematic region - i dont want to play with).
Most of the time i have to dodge like 8-10 lobbies before i found one that i dare to start.
This can be done when the Q is instant.
Dont tell me this is normal, it is not. It is not just a bad code, it is pure purpose.
-
There is no question.
If you use third party software (for whatever reason you say) to gain advantage on your opponents, you should be banned. Period.
Unfortunately, BHVR does not have assets and human resources to figure this problem out...that is your only luck...my dear VPN-ing friend...
You can not expect anything positive in this, since they are unable to region lock the matchmaking. Im consistently getting matched with players i should have never ever matched with...
...so until that point they finish their study in the related topics, i will automatically dodge certain lobbies.
This can be done when the Q is instant.
Otherwise...i just dont play...
-
Once you have learned the timing, it is actually pretty easy....from that point, its only upon you.
That is the reason why the devs are consistently changing the "window' you need to catch for a succesful blind.
I mean, thats what i noticed.

The problem is that the player base of dbd is too small for separate queue. Otherwise they should've made a non ranked queue ages ago.
"playerbase of dbd is too small"
To small for this...too small for that...
...giant bullsheet....
-
I can not confirm if it is working properly, or not, because...
Q was literally instant all day...
...and now, suddenly, it turned into a lobby simulator.
-
Im not saying entitled SWFs are never pretending that they are solos...but....
...as i see, most of the times, entitled killermains are too entitled to check the player profiles, at least....before they pull out the "OMGitsanSWF" card...
....after giving an awfully weak performance...
I literally play soloQ only, but i get accused playing SWF a lot...

I think it's because both maps had basement entrances that were small enough that a killer could body block them and it was impossible for survivors to enter or leave.
I remember people bringing it up when the pbe was active so weird it never got change or that the widths were reduced in the first place.
They stated that before, they have deadlines to get their stuff done. They have to finish with their current ones to jump on something else, if it is not an emergency.
Looks like they do not consider that bug as an emergency.
-
You make this way too complicated.
Just act like all the killers has noed.
Generally...
...killer weak = noed....
Learn it.
If you get clapped under noed, the only thing you do is feeding.
Its the killers weakness, but your fault. Only yours.
-
+1 way the game can not work as it supposed to.
As a PC player, with crossplay off, you still should be able to get matched with PC players who left crossplay on, right?
I think it is a logical expectation.
Unfortunately, based on the horrible queue times and repeating lobby setups we have to assume that you must play with ppl with crossplay off, if you have crossplay off.
Sad, but i had to leave crossplay on - with the rule; 3 consolers = dodge.
-
For example, Fall guys give you random names to moderate people with obnoxious usernames.
If you think about it, this is stupid.
It is a steam problem, not DBD or any other game as an individual.
-
Devs will never give up the gambling part of the game, deal with it.
They like and they will keep the inconsistency on purpose, no matter how/what you and your opponents doing.
Thats how the game was built, the whole system logic is based around the built in randomity.
Thats why they always called the game asymmetrical.
Thats how they are trying to stay to their imagination as close as possible.
-
The game is not dying, yet.
You did all the possible mistakes, so your numbers are decreasing, whats new?
A lot of us already looking for a new main game. One day we will find one, and you will be in trouble.
And you will just standing there, in the middle of the ruins of your "pretty good job", with hands on the hips, shaking your head and say
- Well guys, sorry, but its not worth it anymore.
But there will be noone to listen you, except a negligible few that never mattered.
And yes, you can finally sit back and enjoy your deserved place in the forgotten games between F13 and Deathgarden.
Because thats what you want, right?

Far as we know it isn't. It's just collecting data at the moment while they iron it out more.
Thats the thing that makes me scared.
So one day you will get lobbies with MMR based on the gameplay you experience these days with extremely broken hitboxes.
Impressive.
-
Im begging for this for years.

So, they lied before. Okay than.

Ruin undying wasn’t training wheels, it was needed because of gen speeds. Now killer will be forced to slug and tunnel to slow the game down. I hope you survivor mains enjoy.....
Riding on the "genrush" phrase is a funny thing, since the majority of the playerbase are barely touching gens.
SWF is a different story, different problem, that still not solved, i give you that.
But seriously, as a killermain, how many times you get stomped into the ground by an SWF? 10/1?
Your killer gameplay experience, even with the ruin-undying crutch is not even close to the soloQ nightmare.
-
Lets check the steamcharts 30 days later for the consequences.
-
True title, false description.
-
Remember when loosing ruin in 10 secs made entitled killermains DC instantly?
Those where the good times.
-
I havent played about the last three weeks. I was optimistic and belived that the update makes me play again. I was wrong.
They will lose a part of their playerbase without any organized boycott.
It is what it is.
-
A played dbd mobile.
Like 3 matches.
And uninstalled.

from a design standpoint that just doesn't make sense.
How would there
1. not be a system backup?
2. be a way to just move the icons through their elements?
There are only two possible explanations.
- They dont understand what they are doing as a job.
- They are lying.
-
Calling those as "improvements" is a little bit, hards.
Lets just say BHVR depipped.
-
Goddamn, the ammount of the dissatisfied topics and posts is obnoxiously atrocious.
With reason.
-
I have a question for killermains stated that if ruin-undying trainingwheels are getting nerfed, they quit...
...are you still here?
-
I dont like it either. Most people dont.
They felt into the false narrative thing must be worse, before it can get better.
That is the problem.

they are saying it has been on since before the first time it was "RELEASED" and hasn't been turned off. make of that what you will but since they don't say what it takes into account I honestly have no faith it will work as intended.
Depends which values getting based on. Those are the details they will never share i guess.
This time i was wondering, how player MMR is getting calculated in the case when there is no pre-collected data about their gameplay, like
- They are new to the game
- Used to play, took a brake and coming back when the systeim is online.
-
@Peanits said:
No, it is not. The skill rating system is already active in the background, quietly calculating your rating and predicting how the match will go. Today's update will include some changes to the formula it uses to calculate that rating, but it will not be used for matchmaking yet. We'll be monitoring how the changes to the formula play out, and we're planning to test the skill rating based matchmaking at a later date.
(Bold just to emphasize bits in case anyone's glossing over, not yelling at you or anything.)
Is it possible to tell when did you start capturing the necessary data?
-
Legion.
-
They will just push it through, i guess.
-
Matchmaking should be based on two values.
- Gens done on avg / match
- Seconds spent in chase on avg / match
They stated that they wont share details about the MMR, because it would lead people trying to abuse it. Agreed. But if they are not using these values, what else than?

When you're playing on high ping the match is only harder for you, not the other way around. As a survivor you would often times take a hit 2 meters away from the window after vaulting it, and as the killer many of your hits won't register. Any advantage is non existent
Trying to legitimaze something that should not be allowed is just making it worse.
-
I do not care what you do with your friends in private.
Abusing latency to gain advantage with third party software is a bannable offence for me...so...
People often admitting openly that they use VPN....the fact more and more players doing that and no actions taken is just hilarious.
-
Machmaking should be region locked.
VPNers should be banned.
End of story.

@Kirkylad said:
All the competitive killers and teams would just jump on casual to steam roll someone trying to have a chill match.
Exactly.
Im not against the idea anyway, but until they cannot ensure that this could not happen, it would be a huge owngoal.
At the same time, if you are able to ensure that nobody can abuse the system, you are able to create a fine matchmaking.
