It could be the performance of the switch what makes you seem slower. Is there a stutter in your movement or not?

The devs litterally said on one of their streams that the reason they changed the hatch to be able to be shut is so the game wasnt at that stalemate because it would be held hostage.
Do you have a link? And even if they used that wording why didnt they ban people for it?
-
Mad grit + Iron Grasp + Agitation + STBFL
I could use starstruck, but then nobody tries to bodyblock.
-
Fog offering and hook offerings are decent. Offerings should hve only a slight impact on the match. Not like map offerings.

Oh so you think it's fun getting tunneled?
If im better and the killer loses the game bc of it, it is fun. If the killer is good enough to beat me consistently, i wouldnt have a chance anyway with my average teammates.
But if they tunnel another survivor, its annoying bc i lose the game. But to be fair i dont expect to win in solo que.
-
I personally dont care about the logo. If they get more money that way, its fine. They should work on the game more, but its different people anyway.

I don't know if I agree with that. :) The reason Undying had to be changed wasn't because it was bad on a Myers, Clown, Trapper, etc. but rather because it was ungodly powerful on a Spirit, a Freddy, etc. In other words, the Perk was pretty good for about a quarter of the Killers, not upsetting the apple cart. In fact, it really changed up how some of those Killers played. What I'm suggesting is that Killers do come in certain general groupings these days, and going forward there are Perks we cannot consider or build because of the drastic differences between the types.
It was just not too strong on some killer bc this killer are weak against good survivor.
So instead of creating op perks for weak killer, they should get their basekit buffed. So yh if you mean something like faster pallet breaks for specific killer or faster regressing gens it could work. But the devs will never do it.
-
33.000. I always try to have 18.000 left, so i need 36.000 before a chapter. The next one is licensed anyway, so i could use some to buy cosmetics like i did in the past, but im not sure whether i will take a break from dbd in the near future.
-
Well, its information overkill, but you use BBQ for the points. Which killer?
-
I had the same experience but some killer were weird, too. I thought i was in a green rank match bc i had one meg crouching around the map and a spirit who lost me while phasing (i was injured without iron will). But everyone was red rank.

So, you don't see why someone could be mad about tunneling, facecamping or genrushing?
Tunneling is the killer saying "######### you" to one survivor and making sure they die. Clearly there's a problem there that has nothing to do with efficiency, since even in a hook farming situation it's far more efficient to leave them on the ground.
Facecamping is another one that people insist is efficient, but it's truly not. That's not to say the killer should always leave the area, it's just that I've seen significantly more killers claim that facecamping a survivor in a deadzone with no gens is efficient than anything else.
Gen rushing is one of the scummiest things in DbD. It really is, it's just a full party going "you know what, I don't even want to try". Most of the time they're not even very good in a chase and just predrop pallets, because that's another huge ######### problem in this game. Unlike the other two, in which there are situations where they are the right play, the blame for this rests entirely on the survivors that do it. They are essentially players asking for "free win" buttons and recieving them on silver platters. I guarantee they're also the biggest critics of Spirit, Nurse and Blight, because those are the only three that can make it somewhat difficult.
TLDR: Playing efficiently isn't what people think it is, except genrushing which is also not what people think it is but for a different reason.
In a hook farming situation its more efficient to hook them if they dont have ds. So its risky, but if you get the hook its the most efficient. You will lose gen pressure, but if you get someone killed earlier with gens still remaining its worth it.
-
Its just bc the game is unbalanced and asymmetrical. In other games you can use the same most efficient strategy and its "fair".
-
Yh im for everything what guarantees less slugging for the 4k.
-
Tinkerer is pretty good against good survivor. They wont heal so you dont use your power very often midgame. So the bad synergy is not a problem most of the time. Undetectable can help legion with his second hit and he needs something for that against good survivor.

If you get 50 back to back completely lobotomized survivors vs 5 solid teams you'd realize pretty quickly that winstreaks don't actually mean anything.
With the current matchmaking you never know whether its a solid team or not.
They can do three gens at the start, but maybe they didnt know how to spread out and had just lucky spawns.
They can be a good looper but still go down in 5 seconds and then the game seems easy.
I always have this feeling that wins are pointless bc i won against bad survivor or better said against survivor who made too many mistakes, but i cant say that the survivor i lose against are better. I probably just played worse most of the time.
So of course winstreaks are not perfect to measure the skill of the killer, buts its the best we have.
-
No, but i think she is in a good spot right now.

There is no way. Crossprogression is not possible. They know many want it, but its hard (probably bc of sony).

Imo. He's a good generalist but every kill streak video is pretty much alway just ruin, undying, pop, tinkerer with one perk variation here and there.
It's great for keeping a kill streak going, but its practically a killer monkey build.
Though, he's alway said that he does it for fun and not to prove how good he or a killer is.
Im not saying that otzdarva is one of the best trickster. But if someone cant do what he did, he is clearly not one of the top trickster.

Both. The killer not leaving, and the survivors keeping the killer there. They hold each other hostage.
Holding hostage doesnt work like that. Its just a stalemate like old hatch.

Either the killer goes and gives a free save and gives up a bunch of pressure, or the game is held hostage.
Who holds whom hostage?

It is though. You force him to give up all pressure to end the hostage situation.
That's completely unfair. Either it's too survivor sided, or it literally holds the game hostage. So no.
They can't add that again.
I dont know what you want to argue. Holding the game hostage is a bannable offense and what you describe has nothing to do with that.

Because why would the killer walk away? They give the survivors hella pressure for free. And that survivor isn't killing themselves bc they want to win.
If the killer wants to end the match, he can walk away. So its not holding the game hostage.

Bud, in the OP's discussion it states: Why dont you pause the struggle timer?
Meaning it pauses it, it doesnt specify: "He can die on hook tho while its paused"
So that's what I responded with
Even if you wouldnt get skillchecks anymore, other survivor could finish gens and start egc.
-
@Micheal_Myers said:
Aka keeping the game hostage.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2240524#Comment_2240524
They tested it, it kept the game hostage, so they said screw it. EGC it is.
Cause in reality, alot of people will camp if neccessary, alot will tunnel if neccessary, and alot will do both cause they dont care.
So it would keep alot of games hostage, and therefore be more rage inducing than just dying on hook.
How would this hold the game hostage? The survivor can always kill himself on hook and the killer can always walk away.
If i remember correctly it got abused. Sometimes the killer needs to stay near and he got a disadvantage bc of that.
-
They tested it. But there were problems with it.

It's not about broken combos or anything like that, it's about the modularity of code chunks. M1 attacks are the same for all killers, meanwhile every power behaves in a different way and is a piece of code per se.
It's a lot easier this way, otherwise for every killer they'd have to add tons of conditions depending on the power and the specific perk (trapper's traps?)
Yh like i said. Without the possibility for broken combos they could just treat every special attack the same while coding.

How does Nurse (an S tier Killer) being able to use Sloppy Butcher properly more OP than Oni not applying it while bonking survivors.
Its about broken combos i think. Some which break the game.

since the rework on hooks and nerf on Toolboxes, there's no reason to have any more basements. A sabotaged hook restores really fast and nowadays you have killer perks that help you avoid aggressive survivors like Hangman's Trick, Starstruck, etc (bodyblockers/saboteurs/etc). not to mention that there are offerings that make the hooks closer or create more.
Basements is like bloodlust, mechanics that are outdated and makes the game less healthy.
There are still many maps where its possible to get a bad hook spawn. But Basement does not help with that most of the time anyway.
-
Bc then they dont need to revisit all this perks if a new killer comes out. They could have a broken combo with a killer power if not.

@twocansofbean said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/254125/can-someone-show-me-a-good-wraith
I think you won't get good if you think wraiths power is in his lunge. Hit and run wraith is the optimal way to play him.
If you're trying to win with wraith, he wins by keeping everyone injured with his free first hit and that builds up into downs.
I've hit rank1 without learning with zero loop skills
I know how to play wraith. But so many say his lunge is strong. So i wanted to know how i can use it better. I have no problems winning against the average red ranks but sometimes there are good players and i struggle.
-
I dont want more variables in dbd. The outcome of a match depends already on so many. For example killer, perks, maps, addons etc. Then this factors interact with each other. For example some maps are far stronger against some killer.
Bc of all that its really hard to balance the game and i think its one of the problems why its so hard for a mmr-system to calculate "fair" matchups. Before this is fixed they shouldnt add something like a survivor meta.

He still suffers a lot if you don't play him with best add ons. The hit&run technique has it's flaws. Imo he is B or B+ tier, like Demo and so, he is good and finally playing him doesn't feel like an uphill battle everytime, but he is not one of the 5-7 best killers.
My personal experience after 2k hours is that rank 1 players are usually better than the rest. Tournament players are an entirely different species as they exercise team strategies, coordinate their loadouts, perks and stuff like that. Of course not everyone at rank 1 is super great but in my experience you have to be good to be consistently rank 1. I've also never seen a complete potato at rank 1, only because someone made a mistake doesn't mean he's a potato. Rank 4 is a different story as the rank reset makes sure you can't really leave red ranks especially if you play mostly with others. But whenever i get completely trashed and have like 3 hooks or so it's usually a squad consisting of rank 1-2 players.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2235386#Comment_2235386
it was just the first match i remembered, probably they didn't expect someone to play Wraith at the tournament and rather learned everything about Spirit, Nurse, Hag and Pyramid Head before but left out the rest :D
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2235408#Comment_2235408
There are different car loops but his lunge is generally not super strong on tiles where survivors can see you. Of course you can try to look shortly in the other direction (you can even walk backwards during the boost) but in my experience the lunge isn't fast enough to prevent the pallet drop, if they're not complete potatos. It's a bit of a different story on tiles where they can't see you coming. But generally, try to play with your red stain. Like turn to the opposite side while finishing the uncloak and then move backwards/ sidewards and turn around during the speed boost.
A strategy i sometimes use is uncloak at the other end of the loop, they expect the 50/50 but i just wait for some second while hiding my stain. Some will panic and drop the pallet and run away. Sometimes you can moonwalk. It's not exactly a powerful strategy but funny.
Also, 99% your uncloak to force pallet drops. I've never seen a survivor having the balls to just stand there and delay the drop because they expected you to fake. They either drop or run away, if they run away you can get the hit usually. This strategy works very good with the Shadowdance add on (actually the only good use of this add on).
Furthermore, while bodyblocking is a good strategy and essential with him, NEVER get stunned while cloaked. The stun animation is super long. So if you try to 99% your uncloak, make sure you are not to close to the pallet. And also don't follow right behind them through a pallet, better walk around it while cloaked. Most survivors know about this stun and will drop the pallet if they see you following them closely.
Keep in my mind that he is a stealth killer, many forget this means you need to set up things sometimes. Take your time to move behind objects and approach from unusual angles. A lot of Wraiths don't do this and rather play him very aggressively, running straight forward into the gens, not caring if they get noticed and just use his great speed to catch up. Also try to outplay Spine Chill when you suspect someone has it. This is something i still don't do that much and try to incorporate more into my gameplay. It works very well because SC users are usually relying on this perk and don't care about their surroundings.
The tournament match was weird from the start. I dont know how they could accidentally bring a banned item.
Yh there are different car loops. Is there somewhere a list from all loop names? Sometimes i struggle to explain about which loop im talking.

You can tell when ppl are in a swf. They were very coordinated. My point is that it's unfair if red ranks can swf with one green/yellow rank and still get yellow/green rank killer.
The thing is they dont need to do that. Even with a full red rank swf you get low rank killer often.
-
I dont understand how an experienced player could say that bbq is problematic.
It seriously sounds like a new player who only wants to hide and he doesnt know the counterplay to bbq. But thats not the case right here. You do know the counterplay and you can probably loop. Or what are you doing against the doctor? DC?
The only thing what i can understand is the 2×BP for camper. But does someone need BP anyway if his plan is to camp? Addonless Bubba can do it all day.

Go to PlayStation wrap up if you're on PlayStation
Which stats do you get with the Playstation wrap up?
-
8. Loop as tight as possible.
9. Learn which loops you can chain together and when you can abandon a loop to reach another one.
10. Test the killer. How does he react against mindgames and does he know how to run tiles. Change your playstyle with this infos.
-
Im fine bc i have every killer with every perk already. So i need just to p3 nemesis with all perks and then 300k on every killer. Survivor i level only to 40 and then i get the teachables for Ace.
Right now i have enough time to level up everything between two chapters, but i would get the new killer even if i dont have enough time.
But imo the grind is too much. New players have it hard enough.
-
Its not gamebreaking, but i dont think its the best solution.
But i would like this speed for an entire new killer or maybe T3 Myers.
-
At first i wanted to say that you shouldnt be able to complete challenges and earn trophies. But if we are honest it doesnt hurt me if other do it, so im okay with it.
-
I got hag. But i know exactly which answer would give points for which killer. Its quite obvious if you watch otz.

@Laluzi said:
I'm not especially great with Wraith, but I've had a lot of success playing him like Pig at small loops - you occupy the pallet so the survivor can't drop it, cloak, uncloak, and use the lunge to swing around the structure and hit them. Usually I fake out going one direction for a split second and then commit to the other. And if they're smart and run away from the loop, you just don't uncloak and chase them.
The advice earlier in this thread is great, though - I'd already done that shack play with Wraith, but the TL wall is new to me and I'll have to try it.
But for example a car loop is too big for wraiths lunge, right? I cant get a hit on this structures if they mirror my movement.
-
Better maps. Some maps are a pain, sometimes i think they dont understand maps and every good map was just an accident.
