Why not use Bamboozle on Wraith? It's like the best perk for him. I think I could take them with my Wraith build and add-ons. No Iri's. How does one get ahold of this team to face them as killer? I would LOVE a crack at 'em :D

(Edit: Even his build is weird for a competitive play style and so are his add-ons. Also, he's playing Wraith much differently from what I do. I stand on the corners to get a hit and a pallet drop. Just standing in front of it won't get you nothing but a pallet drop and infinitely looped to death. Also, he's relying too much on body blocking the pallets when you should use his uncloak speed to force them on one side or the other for a hit and a pallet drop. At least, that's how I play.)

Do you have gameplay of your playstyle? Im interested in getting better as wraith.

  • You would think something like that would have priority. And maybe they are working on it like they did with colorblind and dont tell anyone. It wouldnt even surprise me bc their communication to the community is not great but i think the gave up on old consoles.

  • If you could easily wiggle out, it would be far too strong. Denying a hook needs to be hard.

  • Yh lets dont complain about a buggy game. That will make it better. Or not. Let people vent if they are not rude. And some changes we have now are only bc of complaining on a large scale, so while its not the most sophisticated way, its working.

And i play plenty of big games which have less problems then dbd.

I know that, but even when she was chasing other survivors whenever I would go to destroy a trap she would teleport to it instantaneously. Every time.

If she can hit you, you were too close to disarm. If you disarm at the edge she cant hit you instantly. But if the trap is far away from loops, she will still get a hit.

Well you've just showed how much you play survivor. "Don't go down so easily"?

Right now i play more survivor then killer. Granted, im using windows of oppurtunity with over 1000 hours as survivor, but i have no problems with lasting over a minute against most killer. And even if i last only 30 seconds (less is almost impossible), thats almost half a gen and should result in another tinkerer notification somewhere. Then the killer has two 70+gens but only one pop.

I have matches where it doesnt work out and we get no gens done. But thats not bc of tinkerer. Its bc my team was weak or we did one dumb mistake which did cost us the game early. So tinkerer is no problem for me bc if we play worse than the killer we should lose.

Why is it such a big deal if survivor lose their item?

Friend pointed this out to me: Because some items are only attainable in a very short timespan. You don't want your event toolbox or flashlight to get destroyed by a niche perk like that. This change allows people to salvage them.

I do agree however that this should've come with a nerf to make keys no longer open a hatch if they're drained of charges to keep FD's interaction with keys the same.

There is always the possibility that you lose your event-item bc you die. I wouldnt use it if i have only a few. With the current franklin the chance is still high that another survivor will take it.

  • Sony wants the money they would lose if they allow crossprogression. Apparently Bhvr doesnt want to pay this much and i think DbD is not big enough to have enough leverage like other games.

When i switch from ps4 to pc i will not start from zero. So when theres no crossprogression i will quit.

  • @MadLordJack said:

So long as the generator regresses below 70%, the killer can keep interrupting it with zero counterplay. There is nothing that you can do about it. It's only "counter", and I use that term incredibly loosely because it isn't really a counter to Tinkerer but a counter to Dead By Daylight, is to play with 3 friends and slam the shite out of the gens. I don't see how that's particularly fair or balanced.

Its really easy to counter tinkerer. If its a combo with ruin, destroy ruin. If its a combo with pop, dont go down so easily.

I use tinkerer against a killer how i use thrill of the hunt. Use the notifications to distract the killer. Its helpful for me bc i play always solo and prefer it if the killer chases me instead of my teammates.

  • Thats sounds weird. But how can you go down? Startstruck lasts only 30 seconds. Pls tell me it was a nurse or a spirit.

  • The Franklin demise change is a really bad idea. Only draining the charges instead of destroying the item does nothing to the strongest ability of keys. Opening the hatch.

I know they want to change keys but lets be honest. It would be optimistic if we expect the key change in 6 months.

Why is it such a big deal if survivor lose their item? I almost never play with an item and im doing fine. And killer always cant keep anything.

  • A camping hag with 10 traps at the hook can be annoying, but is not really effective.

A hag with two traps at the basement and make your choice is a death sentence most of the time.

And a good hag is really strong and will probably destroy average survivors.

Against a normal camping hag you should just do the same as against every other camping killer. Gens.

Against basement hag you will probably lose bc she can protect the hook and play the game at the same time. You are lucky if you have a flashlight.

Against a good hag in general you need to destroy her web constantly and spread out.

  • I play always with crossplay as survivor. But as killer? Im not insane, if i get a survivor who spins i will never hit him. On ps4 i get always fast matchmaking with killer anyway, so there is no reason to enable crossplay.

  • @Zeus said:

People take the example of a "good" spirit to show how strong she is and neglect every other players who play her and if a spirit loses then they are apparently a bad spirit. It's quite similar to that.

With spirit its kinda true. With many killer you rely on survivor mistakes, but most hits you dont get with spirit are your mistakes. I win most of the time with spirit but i would say im a bad spirit. When i lose its my mistakes.

  • Killer: Corrupt

Survivor spawn shouldnt be a deciding factor in a match

    Survivor: Windows of oppurtunity

Most survivor dont know tiles and maps. Maybe they learn to loop with it.

  • The only change i would think is fine is ds activation after both hooks.

A longer stun wouldnt change a thing. You could say no scratchmarks and blood for 5 seconds if you want to use the stun to escape. But i sont know whether it would be too strong.

The last ds change was really good and everyone who complains about the deactivation of ds doesnt understand what tunneling is.

  • @MadLordJack said:

Yeah, I don't like how strong it is now, especially with Ruin or Surge. However, I have to give it points for that one time it told me I was going against a super sneaky hacker.

How is it too strong with surge? And its okay that a hex perk is strong.

the have it with stadia, i dont see why it cant be done with other platform too, if is for "money" just make it that on other platform you have ro re-buy the dlc's again in order to have that character progress/perks unlocked u_u

Its about the money they need to pay sony for it.

  • What is the point of this post?

  • I think most survivor dont know how to play against bamboozle. It takes away your window vaults but you can use this knowledge to predict the killer. If you know the killer will vault you can most of the time reach another loop.

  • Deathslinger is fun to play against.

Sprintboost is stronger then Dead hard.

  • @neonblush said:

Lol that’s so funny but true. I really don’t get why Ghostface can crouch at full speed but Pig slows down to be slower than running survivors.

Ghost face cant crouch at full speed. Its 3.6m/s without addons, same as Pig. But you can switch your stance a lot faster.

I dont understand your point. What has spending money for cosmetics to do with grinding for bloodpoints?

  • @Purgatorian said:

I think bhvr sees it as a way to keep players coming back to the game, to progress their characters. The way I see it is, once the novelty of 'wow, there's so much levelling to be done' turning to 'ugh, still so much levelling to do', wears off completely it will turn more players away.

Yh i think also that it will turn more players away. I know there are some player who want this grind but they should not be the majority. But maybe they are the "whales" who spend the most money in the game.

A lot of the time if the Wraith does it correctly and he 'wins' the 50/50 it'll significantly cut down the amount of loops the survivor can get out of the pallet. It's not something that usually gives an immediate result but I wouldn't say it's weak.

The amount of loops where he can use this 50/50 is not even that high. Some maps have almost none. Its not bad but it helps mostly at weak loops. Bodyblocking is a stronger anti-loop.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

It should be around the same odds of how items increase survivors' chance of escaping. Without including keys of course.

I don't really know how much %, but imo a killer with two purple or pinks should be as strong as 4 survivors with purple medkits.

Something like that is surely balanced. But would it be okay for you if a killer wins almost to 100% only bc you didnt bring strong items? Or a killer without addons has almost no chance against some items?

Edit: idk how strong items increase your chance of winning

  • I had some moments where i thought i could reach the pallet and got hit. But thats okay bc it was my mistake. I just need to learn what i can do and what not and change my looping. Uncloaking in a loop seems still weak to me.

  • How is getting close and instadowning abusive? They are just playing a worse billy/bubba.

  • Isnt this post pointless? You can kill one early with tunneling and then "farm" the other three and max out your bloodpoints.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

I have an example of a Wraith-player I played against when Moris were still able to kill after 1 Hooks:

He invested 20k BPs (Ebony Mori, Silent Bell, All-Seeing) and earned 19k BPs, making it 38k with BBQ. He did not get more than 4 Hooks and camped every Hook and tunneled the respective Person to mori them. (For the first two Survivors, my friend and myself died to NOED after all Gens were done)

And yes, 19k BPs is too much for this playstyle, even making 18k BPs profit with that Loadout due to BBQ is not right.

Thats not correct. You need to count the bp he needs to get his equipment and not the worth of his addons, offering etc. He needs to complete bloodwebs and hope the right things are spawning.

I did the test with old one-shot huntress and i needed 3-4 matches (80k BP per match) for one build.

  • I think it would be faster if you made posts about killer you dont want to be nerfed, Sluzzy.

  • Werent you the one who slugged a lot as clown? Or how do you play as killer? I think every killer playstyle is hated from atleast some survivor.

I only tunnel if i need to or a survivor shows me he has no ds and as survivor i dont care bc i have ds and can loop. But i would still be happy if there would be less tunneling and killer would get other buffs to make up for it, but the devs dont want it, so it is what it is.

  • I really understand why someone doesnt want to play sweaty games. But its your own fault. If you would never play sweaty the game would give you a lower mmr and you dont need to play sweaty. Your problem is that you dont want to play sweaty but still win.

You say you have more hours but have yet to provide proof that any of my statements are false about the topic. You say you are red rank, but complain about getting face camped. So makes me question, are you really red rank? Do you really have 2,500 hours? Are you really going to waste your time and everyone's time on this topic that you yourself cannot provide proof for?

I provided many researchable proofs. Which you yourself can research and get the straight answer from the devs themselves. You say you are red rank but complain about Bubba face camping you. Then say that's taking the game hostage, but the old hatch isnt or the proposed change will not keep the game hostage. Sounds pretty dumb to me so far.

Like I said in my last comment I dont care if you respond or not, if you dont provide proof of any of your statements then all your statements are invalid. I've seen it all in the game so I have prior knowledge of how the game was and how it is now and provided proof based on my knowledge. All you have done has been spreading opinions and not fact which seemingly angers you when someone calls you out.

Cause you know this to be true: Deep down, all your statements are opinions and will never be factual unless you show proof of your statements being factual not invalid.

    But nice try though.

I dont understand. Are you writing to the correct person? Where did i complain about a bubba facecamping me? And wasnt my whole point that a facecamping bubba is not holding the game hostage? But why do you say now the opposite?

If i really did say this things, i dont know why i did that. But its more likely you read it wrong.

  • Its great. I never got a penalty when i had a disconnect from the game which wasnt my fault.

  • For me its always fast as killer, but survivor is really faster in the daytime.

  • I played wraith a lot after the update but i played always without addons so i cant say something about that.

With wraith i get many matches where i win for free bc survivor give me free hits. But my highest winstreak is still only 9. Some matches i lose bc i mess up but they are still a lot harder compared to my average matches. Against good survivor you suddenly need to exhaust their pallet ressources bc they reach the loops more often. (Comms, spine chill, sprintboost, game sense, safer gens etc) You dont get easy downs bc they heal near pallets and know how to loop a wraith. His lunge and bodyblocking are not the strongest chase tools if the survivor knows where you are. But against good survivor you need a down eventually. Keeping all injured will not stop the gens forever.

But i know that there are still things to learn for me. So if someone shows me a wraith dominating against good survivor i will change my view.

    1.)

If MMR works as intended, you should be trying your hardest every game, since the players around you are of equal skill. For me, I'd have to run meta on every Killer if I wanted to have a chance to win at my current MMR. That just doesn't sound appealing to me, and many other players have expressed the same sentiments.

But, if you enjoy that, I have no room to judge.

    2.)

Publicity is an issue. A game without a large content creating community is a dead game. Think about what streamers like Otz, Hexy, Cope ect do for the game. I give them 6 months before they are as burnt out as Tru3 clearly is.

    3.)

The issues are already known. Anyone with a reasonable understanding of the game knows that it is not balanced and certainly not fun at high Ranks. The issues have been pointed out but nothing has been done. I see no reason why BHVR would immediately start on a fix.

As another example of that, the Optimization of this game is pretty abysmal. The game can be borderline unplayable for Console's and has been for years. BHVR said they would do something about it, but that was 2 years ago. Since then, it's only gotten worse.

BHVR does not address fundamental issues. They only bandaid them.

    4.)

Not having a visual indication only makes it slightly harder for people to abuse it. If you throw 20 matches and only hit 3 people, your MMR will plummet. I don't think anyone needs a visual indicator to know that and to abuse it.

    1) You only need to try your hardest every game if you want to win. So just dont try to win and you should get a lower mmr. But in most games its hard to lower your mmr bc they want to avoid people who abuse it. So with some mmr-systems you get stuck in a high mmr. And with that people will use smurfs.

Sweating without seeing your rank seems meaningless for me, too. But right now its unfair if i play against people where everything other than a 4k would be a embarrasment for me. Sometimes i want to relax and still get a win. I mean i used time to get good in the game so why shouldnt i have it easier then others? But i know thats selfish.

    2) 50win-streaks will certainly vanish. But i see people in other games who do great. If you are one of the best you will still win and a lose can be entertaining, too. The problem with dbd is that its not balanced.

    3) They need to balance it. MMR will just highlight the problems. I prefer 6 month of hell where i know its coming instead of another 3 years of ... i will still win bc the survivor have no brain but its meaningless bc it has nothing to do with my skill only with survivor mistakes...

    4) they need to show a visual indicator. You are right if they want to stop abuser they need to do different things. Make a downrank limit in the span of a month. Show the mmr and dont make matchmaking time too long. I wonder if low mmr players would be satisfied with a match against a high mmr player if they would lose but still get a better mmr when they exceed the expectations of the mmr-system.

In the state of the game, it's impossible for the game to work like that. There's so much RNG in this game. That solo surv just might get some really good maps or that trapper player might just get some really good maps. Then they get stuck with a higher MMR, and even if that solo survivor is good at the game, a solo in general, as good as they may be will have a huge problem with a god nurse and will likely lose without communication. Even if that trapper player is the best trapper player in the world if he gets a team of good survivors in a swf trapper ain't exactly holding up very well and that player will very likely lose.

That's the problem. This game doesn't work as a competitive game because of how much RNG can drastically change it. As much as I would love to have this game be competitive there are just so many balancing issues and red tape everywhere. Why is bhvr pushing mmr so hard when the game is in such an unbalanced state with map design and killer design.

Yh this game has too many factors which change the outcome of a match. But bhvr needs to learn that. They should get the data which maps, addons, killer are unbalanced when there are 5 good players and then change it. I hope they do that bc right now there are too many thing which heavily decide the outcome of a match.

Im sorry but I cant take this answer seriously as you suddenly speak like some all knowing being, you dont know about any of this.

Its also pretty contradictory "they will ignore the secondary objective" sooo you are saying they dont care about bp then, "if survivors get more bp then queues would significantly increase" soooo they DO care about bp.....

A second objective like that would make solo que and bad player worse, but would change almost nothing in hard matches against good player.

Chests (free items), Totems (1000 BP) are ignored most of the time.

I guess? I don't know however, that sounds like a very incredibly niche thing to happen. I'm not saying it's impossible, but the odds of that happening is incrediblely slim to none compared to the proposed hook change, which in theory and practice has happened all the time

Edit: Wait a second. If all the gens are done, the pallet closest to the hole is completely unsafe, you can just run to the other one and keep going. It's wasting his time trying to follow your exact footsteps

I meant the pallet above the bathroom.

  • @DwarvenTavern said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2251744#Comment_2251744

Well, it would. Here me out real quick.

See, let's say I'm Bubba in this scenario and you're into a team of swf.

I'm camping your friend and all gens are done, I'm sitting by him and everyone got the gens done and now they're just thinking of how to get the survivor on the hook. Now let's say I used the backhook in the basement and you're upstairs in a locker. The timer is completely paused on both sides and no one wants to do anything. See what I mean?

Yh but lets say you are on the game. You have dropped the pallet which is the nearest to the hole to the bathroom. The bubba just waits and doesnt destroy the pallet bc then you would get to the other pallet and escape bc the exit is 99%. Isnt that the same?

  • Sometimes. Most of the time they learn their lesson quick but there are enough bad survivor at red rank.

  • @DwarvenTavern said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2251634#Comment_2251634

Apologies, I meant that I stayed by a certain loop the whole game, my friends and I use the term "running" rather loosely, I did pretty much camp that loop. And to your final question, well. The devs don't like the concept of something being infinite, hence why they changed End Game, no one likes the concept of things literally taking forever.

It was exploitable too, unfortunately we couldn't see how exploitable it was, but I imagine it was pretty bad for even the devs to take into consideration that it's broken. Right now, there are very few examples of things being infinite and they're gonna be less and less

Yh it wouldnt be a fun mechanic and i dont want it. But it wouldnt be holding the game hostage. That was my only point.

  • @DwarvenTavern said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2251491#Comment_2251491

While that is a good point, I don't see how that's the equivalent of the proposed hook change.

From my own experience as both a killer and survivor, in addition. I have no idea why you would consider this as a factor, but for the sake of it, yes. I am in Red ranks. Even though rank doesn't quite matter.

Anyway, in scenario A, I was actually involved into that particular situation as a survivor. What I did was run. I ran and I ran and I ran. Nonstop, I kept running while my teammates did the gens, for actually the whole match, I just ran through the same loop, it was pallet with a large section of bushes to give me the enough time to vault the pallet or run around. Not once did they break the pallet. During this time, my teammates got all 5 gens done and I managed to escape. With a bit of body blocking as well.

The thing I'm questioning is this, how is scenario A equivalent to the hook prospect that actually makes the timer stop which literally puts a halt to the game.

It actually has been tested and it's proved to be too exploitable by survivors. You could argue that the Killer is halting the game as well with both A and B. But, that's not the case. A is actually such a loose example it barely counts to this, while B just makes the game actually last forever if both sides are stubborn enough.

It's both party's at fault here, but survivors kept begging for that hook change to be in the game that the devs finally relented. It's a Steve Harrington perk called Camaraderie.

It pauses the timer for 34 seconds, using this perk shows how much of a halt it puts to the game.

I dont consider being red rank as a factor. It was a joke about the other guy saying he plays since 2017/18 and bc of that his arguments are stronger.

Running the killer for 5 gens is certainly more interactive, but thats not the case here. You would just wait, maybe vault the pallet.

And couldnt your teammates just save you and bodyblock if the killer camps you on a infnite hook timer? What is the difference?

  • @DwarvenTavern said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2251119#Comment_2251119

"The proposed hook change would be the same as a killer waiting at a safe tile with a dropped pallet."

    How?

The killer cant destroy the pallet bc the survivor would get away, but the survivor cant leave the tile bc he would go down. There is no timer which would end the standoff.

In the other scenario a survivor gets camped and the hook timer stops. The killer doesnt want to leave, so it stays like that forever.

Standoff 1 can be solved with bodyblocking and standoff 2 with a hook safe. Of course there are killer in both scenarios (bubba) who can stop that. Both standoffs can also be solved with doing all gens, opening a door and starting the endgame.

You could say that in scenario 1 the survivor could leave the tile and give up while in scenario 2 this isnt possible if there are no skill checks when the hook timer stops. But in the end if the survivor gives up and doesnt want to survive, the endgame will do that for him.

It's not just my view. It's the devs view, another forum member's view and alot of player's views.

Like the devs stated this by quote: "If you are camped on the hook, just die and go to the next match it isnt that hard."

In response to disconnecting because of being facecamped.

Like I've been playing since 2017 to 2018. So about 4 to 3 years. I've seen games taken hostage, I've seen old hatch, I've seen old DS, old Borrowed Time, I've seen Old Freddy, I've seen old nurse, and old beaded beans spirit. Hell I've seen forum members complain that the rift is gunna be a fortnite rip off (which it is). I've even seen changes the devs made that made playing killer really crappy and seen em make survivors OP, and vice versa.

I'm not spreading a false viewpoint, I'm stating factual statements that EVEN YOU can research. Even you trying so hard to defend your statement with out proof or things to research tells me psychologically that you dont even know what you are talking about in this topic. So imma leave you with that. Respond or not I dont care. I'm just saying your points of how this wouldn't make the game be taken hostage is invalid.

"Blablabla i want the last word bc that means im right" Great for you but now i have the last reply. Guess, im right. See, i dont know you and i have no idea why you dig up this thread to reply to me after a week or more and i certainly dont care about this topic anymore. But people like you annoy me, so i cant leave this like that.

Something isnt holding the game hostage bc both players are too stubborn to give up. And even if it was, it wouldnt apply to the situation. The proposed hook change would be the same as a killer waiting at a safe tile with a dropped pallet. He cant get the survivor and if he breaks the pallet the survivor can escape to another tile. If the killer now does nothing, nobody would ban him for holding the game hostage.

Oh and bc it seems so important to you: i play since 2018 and have 2500 hours. I effortlessly reach rank 1 etc etc. Does this now make my argument more valid? If not you can stop listing this things about you.

Cause it was literally a flaw in their design. Bud it's not hard to do research yourself.

Like stop arguing, accept the fact it would keep the game hostage like old hatch and move on.

You litterally can scower all the dev vlogs and find out yourself of why this type of thing WILL NEVER be added.

Or you could just not reply to me and stop forcing your view on me.
