There is no aim assist in this game.

Yh its aim dressing. But it can look similar.

  • Yh i know. I was the idiot who searched for 50 scraps of paper in GTA V bc i wanted the platinum trophy. Luckily i stopped doing this things.

My point is that he doesnt need to do it if its no fun and that it will be a lot easier in the future anyway.

  • If you hit someone with BT and they want to force a ds with a locker, they will god down bc of the mending timer. You still cant hook them, but atleast you can slug them.

Imo adept is really pointless. You dont get anything from it and its incredible hard or incredible easy depending on your rank. You will get it for "free" when we all start at rank 20 every month with the MMR-system.

Or, maybe accept that there is a Map in the game which you dont like? I mean, you end up on it rarely enough, if you play on it and you dont like it, suck it up.

It is not like your day is ruined or that the Devs ate your pets, they just created a Map you dont like.

But its not like anyone has a bad day bc of this thread. Just let people complain, if they want. Feedback is important.

One thing that really confuses me about it is the hatch situation. The hatch is almost impossible to find because it can spawn on any floor. I found it once with a map in a third floor broom closet or something.

Every other map the hatch can only appear on the first floor to make it less painful for everyone. Why the change for RPD?

I just dont try to find it and camp the door. One time the killer closed the hatch only after 5 minutes. Idk whether he didnt find it or camped it, but he had no chance reaching the door after that in time.

Maybe trapper could have a add on that effects the colour of the ground. So a add on that would make the floor darker. Traps on new coldwind are impossible to miss.

This would be a not map dependent tar bottle. It would be a trapper buff, but i dont know whether its the right way to buff him.

  • @Regulus47 said:

Because giving trapper an extra trap would make him very oppressive at the start of a game, because all he would have to do is bring a setting speed add-on and chases would be impossible against him. He'd just place one trap on one end of the loop and another on the other end, and then you die unless there's another loop right next to it. If you let him have his more broken add-ons like iri stone and bloody coil, which makes disarming traps impossible and removes almost all of his counterplay, he would just be old legion with extra steps.

Most loops have one pallet. You trap this pallet and the survivor needs to leave the loop. Nothing would change with two traps. Many trapper use setting speed and a bag, but i never had a problem at the start of the game bc i can just leave the loop. Setting speed can make it difficult ig most loops are destroyed at the end of the game, but the bag addon has nothing to do with it.

Pretty much this. I like the old HUD better as well as a few other things, but DBD seems to be getting better, in fact I think it's more balanced than it's ever been. Sure it's still not balanced perfectly, but I'd rather have this than no exhaustion status effect (which means constant SB and DH), old DS, more infinites, 5-blink Nurse, and old Self-Care.

Yh there were so many stupid things. Dribbling to a hook bc of ds was so annoying. Or iridescent huntress with a mori. The changes are too slow imo, but they did a lot of good things over the years.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/271004/survivors-spawning-spread-out

because if they always spawned together and the killer found 1 person ie the whole team depending if it was a more powerful killer spirit etc match wouldnt last long plus rng. i know the game is survivor favoured no debate on that. but imagine always spawning together killer finds you all bundled together it would be annoying everyone being downed or hit instantly before can even move an inch or five feet

If all survivor would immediately spread out, the killer cant do much. A blight or some other fast killer could close the distance too fast, but you never cant be sure where the spawnpoint is.

But im not sure how it would play out. They should just test it a weekend like they did with no bloodlust.

the cheap looking survivor pictures in the hud and that the maps lost some of their darkness are the only things I miss/ would like the see chsnged6

Yh if they would have better pictures, it would be great. Some maps were just too dark. I like the new brightness better.

  • I play since Aug. 18 and i absolutely dont want old dbd back. There were so many great changes since then and im looking forward to the next changes. One of the most fun things for me is reading the patchnotes for new changes.

I liked the old HUD designwise more, but the new one is more useful. Other than that i cant really remember a change, which i want to be reverted.

You said the Killers were inherently bad. Many people think Trapper is unplayable, certainly not S tier yet, a skilled player can win with him.

A skilled player can win with him against weaker player. You used Otz as example. He was a trapper main, but he never used trapper in tournament matches or in other "competitive" matches. He said that he would have no chance.

Otz couldnt do 50wins with trapper without addons. Even for a experienced trapper player is a bag-addon mandatory.

And now Otz doesnt play Trapper very often anymore. Trapper has just so many problems and some of them keep coming. (Map reworks with thin grass for example)

Does every killer needs to be S-tier? Only in a perfect world. But they shouldnt have obvious designflaws.

  • @Jivetalkin13 said:

I think you played very well. I don't see it as a problem, but I can see what you mean. This is coming from someone who primarily plays killer.

Thanks but honestly the unsafe pallet was the only thing that was tricky. Running around in circles is not difficult.

  • Myers with 99% stalk is really good. With StbfL it would be almost impossible to rescue, but its too much preparation.

  • @Kebek said:

The absolute best one is Tombstone Myers as once you get it going, tombstoning someone doesn't eat your stacks.

Other then that, all instadowning killers can benefit from it decently. Even one stack for bonus 5% can be huge if you make it count.

But for example Billy wants to use his chainsaw for map traversal. Isnt PWYF and preserving stacks in this case more a hindrance than a benefit?

On which killer would it be really viable in your opinion?

  • @GrimoireWeiss said:

Stealth killers are the best for it. Ghostface and Myers can stalk the obsession while farming stacks at the same time and instadown other survivors to keep them. Wraith can cloak and immediately end chase (although he doesn't really need it anymore).

Is Ghostface really good with it? Shouldnt you stalk outside of chase, but you need to chase for PWYF? Would you use a Exposed-perk for more instadowns (and if which?) or is it only playable with recovery addons?

  • Are you sure? It was like that when Plague released, but i heard they changed that. When was the last time you tested it?

Lol. I play solo man, tell that to my "teammates". Also Corrupt makes it relatively easy for some killers to set up a three gen.

I play solo, too. Some of my teammates have mastered the art of getting us all killed. So with this kind of teammates i almost never reach three gens.

As survivor i never expect to win. Its almost impossible to carry three people. With this mentality i have more fun and losing doesnt bother me that much. There is nothing after rank 1 anyway.

  • @Customapple0 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2400819#Comment_2400819

Sometimes, especially when solo it cannot be helped when the killer religiously protects 3 gens from the start.

I play only solo, ok maybe 99%. 3 gens are rare, but when my team is bad, we deserve to lose. Thats why i dont expect to win and the game is more fun with this mentality for me.

  • @malloymk said:

As long as three gen starts are used, gen tapping should be in the game.

If you mean three gen strats, then its your fault if you lose against that. Do the gens in the right order and when the killer stays in the three gen the entire match, he cant injure you. With 4 healthy survivor and with no pallet used, a 3 gen is not a problem.

  • I dont do it and when i play Ace (my main) i dont encounter franklins often. I dont use items, but i look at most of the killer builds after the match.

  • I played this map twice. First time against a pig with the broken addon combo and the map offering. Two dead bc of traps and i was lucky that no everyone stopped doing gens when i had a trap.

Second match was against a spirit. We did three gens and then the spirit started facecamping. 3 minutes and two trades later i still hadnt found another gen. I was so frustrated and honestly i wanted to dc. Then the spirit downed the dead-on-hook claudette, but couldnt reach a hook with here. So she dced.

This map is a nightmare and even if i would take the time to memorize everything, my teammates still wouldnt. So whats the point?

  • There are good tips in the comments above. The important thing is do get unhooks, chases and gens. Doing all three is more important than escaping.

I see you want to be red rank and are willing to do something. If you show me gameplay, i can tell you exactly what you need to change and im confident that it is enough for you to reach red rank. Playing survivor is about knowledge and not complex mechanical skill.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/270019/the-blurred-line-between-cheating-and-preference-for-stretched-res

As long as BHVR keeps allowing it...not much to do, yes it interferes with normal gameplay and gives the user significant advantage; but not much to do, worst part is that it isn't even the worst way of "blurred line between cheating or not", there are mods (which are allowed, like the ones almost everyone uses to change the perks images) that are practically cheats, that mark you all the stuff in the map (gens, windows, traps, totems, etc).

Didnt the last patch fix the problem with modding?

  • @Junylar said:

I was sure you were talking about some kind of new error code in the game.

    Wouldnt be surprising in DbD.

I imagine they would be a minority.

I also imagine those people stop caring for pips the moment they learn how being in the red ranks actually is.

I dont care for pips, but i enjoy red ranks. Since 2018.

The thing is that in the end everybody plays it for the fun, atleast i hope that. And fun is subjective.

  • @Luciferr_2nd said:

What is even the cause of this?

That looked like a very clear hit to me

I think the survivor was around the corner on their screen. So the game decided in the survivors favour, maybe bc of better ping idk.

But it could just be a bug.

  • Yh mostly people who try to reach rank 1 for the first time, i guess. There are many conplaints in the forum that someone lost rank progress bc of camping, tunneling, genrushing etc, but i thinks its a minority.

  • No, that would be boring. When they chill, i need to chill. Then we could just all quit or start farming.

The game needs to be balanced from the devs and not with selfmade rules from the player. It would be ok if there would be incentives like do all totems or get 12 hooks to rank up faster (but then people would need to care about that), which prolong the game, but there are so many different things people care about. Some care for pips, some for bp, some for their own win conditions, etc.

There's that vague reasons why NoED rewards camping!

I mean, the Killer would have to camp a hook AND camp EVERY SINGLE TOTEM at the same time, but Survivor mains will insist this happens because they want to complain!

The point with noed and camping is that you need to do gens to counter camping if you cant unhook. So you have no time for totems.

The best way would be to make noed weaker if the killer does only facecamp the entire match.

  • @MikaKim said:

    @TicTac

'If you camp with a M1-killer good survivor will always get the rescue. So its not a problem if some killer camp bc you can just rescue.

Granted in solo que it happens rarely but thats a problem with solo communication and matchmaking.'

What even is this statement, a good killer that facecamps isn't going to slip up. What your alluding too is coordinated swf because in your VERY NEXT SENTENCE you admit its not the same for soloq and therefore swf groups that don't coordinate.

Please post less but think about your content more. I'm 2 posts into you and already tired. How have you managed nearly 2k?

Coordinated swf? I play only solo and today i got a save with a random team of purple and green ranks. It was the only camper i played against.

You need only a swf bc three people are bad and someone needs to tell them what they should do. If every survivor is good, they know what to do. One takes a hit, the second unhooks and then the healthy survivors bodyblock.

So it does not happen in solo bc most survivor dont know how to play. And if you dont know how to play, you need to learn it and not get it for free.

If Survivors do gens; the Killer gets 1, MAYBE 2 kills anyways

    This is the exact problem.

The killer chooses to play as little as they can. It shouldn't be a '1, maybe 2' scenario (not counting NOED which can easily make things worse), it should be a 'maybe 1, but definitely nothing more' scenario. It needs to not even be close to a viable strat. Even by your own admission, it is either dangerously close or already there.

And as I keep saying, it's a matter of overall balance as well since there's a ton of things BHVR can't do without also, as collateral damage, making camping more effective.

You want gen speeds slowed down? You want 'second chance perks' nerfed?

    Tough.

Camping exists. Anything killers want is invalidated by that single fact.

The devs said that the MMR-system will count more than the number of kills. So maybe only facecamping killer will not be able to rank up. So they get "nothing".

But that would mean that weaker player get more campers (the same as right now) and bc there is no incentive to get a better MMR-rating there is no reason to stop camping.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

No camping isn't a problem, it just need to be more heavily punished especially when no survivors are near the hooked player. Yes some killer are better at camping but all killers can camp regardless or power or perks. Punish it and it wont be as common

If you camp with a M1-killer good survivor will always get the rescue. So its not a problem if some killer camp bc you can just rescue.

Granted in solo que it happens rarely but thats a problem with solo communication and matchmaking.

  • @Troman said:

Camping is a general problem, it makes games unfun for both sides.

Camping comes from the design of the hooking system: you need to hook a survivor a second time to start the struggle phase and a third time to kill him. Remove the second hook stage and let survivors die on the hook as soon as their time on the hook runs out. Killer can hook a survivor as many times as needed, survivors can be unhooked as many times as needed. The time on the hook before a survivor dies will have to be tweaked.

This will remove camping entirely, but will still allow the killers to camp a survivor when exit gates are open or to secure the last possible kill, which are the only situation when camping can be called a legit strategy.

If the killer facecamps the entire game and there is no interaction, its boring. But camping is not only that. Camping someone if he has only 10 seconds left for the next hook stage is a good play, which forces the survivor to rescue not always in the last second. If someone camps in the EGC, its more interesting for the survivor then a free unhook and everyone escape easily. So camping has its uses and is not always a problem.

But facecamping the first person two minutes is boring for both sides. Or a camping Bubba. This things could be nerfed, but only if the nerf doesnt destroy other things.

  • Blight is a killer worth mastering. But i personally didnt play him often.

  • It doesnt matter whether its 2x or not. It makes no difference if get now some matches with 3x or many 2x after the bloodhunt.

Sure you can play with a bloodpoint build and optimize it, but the change to waste your offering is the same. Sometimes people play even sweatier while theres an event and you get not many bp.

  • @ccactus623 said:

How often do you see pop, ruin BBQ noed, corrupt it would be nice if other perks could compete

Yh i agree it would be nice. Perks like Bloodwarden which arent meta but have their use are ok, but things like monstrous shrine or perks which are a weaker version of others need a change.

But while its nice and should be done, is it important?

  • @KayTwoAyy said:

Just came over to share in my disappointment and frustrations about this move.

    Its ######### up.

I can understand that people dont like it, but they did it many times in the past. Sometimes it feels like half of the rifts are recoloring of shop skins. So why is anyone surprised?

  • If you need bloodpoints use offerings, if not, dont. Its simple. In the last year i only used offerings when i prestiged the character.

  • I dont use bloodpoint offerings bc i dont need more bloodpoints.

  • I got it around 3-5 times in 2500 hours. First tine was against a Freddy on Hawkins.

  • Its pointless.

Its a luck based buff to survivor which will almost never have any effect. More bloodpoints in objective and every 500th game you escape bc you hit a great skillcheck.

Its a useless buff for killer. Its make 99% exit gates sometimes more annoying, but not really harder.

  • Use StbfL. You dont need to break every pallet immediately, so brutal is not that important. Oppression can be good, but without other gen regression perks its not really worth it.

  • Around ten minutes if the teams are balanced.

Whats really interesting is that in the hardcore survivor challenge with Dowsey, Otzdarva etc the average game takes 15min even if they stomp the killer. This is bc they spend time to do all totems (noed) and try to get pips.

  • The problem with hag is that people dont know how to play against her. But you could argue that hag traps around the hook should be removed when you unhook.

I’m not even bothering to play around pallets. I’ve been sticking with his teachables + PWYF, and doing his hit and run style, eventually catching out injured survivors not able to heal back up in time. I’m moving around so damn fast they can’t get themselves out of a one hit state fast enough. And with the big shift to trying to heal as frequently as possible, gens start slowing to a crawl.

And i’ve been absolutely wrecking every team I’ve gone against (rank 4 to 1). I’m not even a Wraith main. Yet these have been the easiest games I’ve played in a long time. And it’s peak sweat squad period here in Australia currently. These add ons with PWYF is stupidly broken.

I need to try that when they fix ps4. I only played wraith without addons since the windstorm basekit buff. Do you think his windstorm addons should be removed?

  • I dont see how this two are similar. Spirit can move fast around the map, but even basekit wraith is better with that. Spirits strength is her chase potential and while i think that speed wraith is dangerous, some pallets are still impossible to play around and he needs prep for pwyf.

  • I mean chase music is also only a distraction.

  • Its ok if there are maybe two of this pallets on a map. You should think when to use this ressource.

1 … 19 20 21 22 23 … 54
