  • In my experience most of them continue playing or wait on the hook for the killer.

Once i got an unsafe unhook with BT and once one survivor dropped all pallets on the map. But in both matches we had lost anyway.

So i will continue to rescue them, if im nearby and have no gen to finish. Free bloodpoints and they need to wait a bit more.

  • I dont think its a good idea. It would make it really hard for survivor in low ranks and S-rank-killer which are right now balanced, would be too strong.

The better solution would be to identify why gens are going too fast and then adjust that.

  • I never had this in 2500 hours. But one time a survivor messaged me and said that he couldnt find two gens on hawkins. I said where they were and he said on this spot was nothing for him. So its possible that gens could be invisible, but then it would be a really rare bug.

  • Then it has probably nothing to do with that. Some people have different preferences. Some like horror, some dont. Some prefer PVP, some PVE. There are many games out there, dont force yourself to play a game which could have such an impact on your daily life. You probably find a game which is more fun for you.

  • Are you over 18? If you cant eat dinner if this would happen to you, you should probably stop playing this game. The chance is high that it will happen.

  • I always keep playing. I often thought why is nobody doing anything and suddenly two gen pop or many gens are near completion.

But even in the worst case, i often have fun in a chase, even if its impossible to win.

  • The only time i am cautious against starstruck is against a nurse, a hag and a spirit. Against other killers im confident that i will outlast 30 seconds without a hit or they cant use a basic attack.

I never got downed with starstruck, but i only played against it around 10 times.

I feel the reason no one runs Beast of Prey is because to get Undetectable you must always have Bloodlust. But Bloodlust takes too long to activate and can be lost in a ton of different ways, not necessarily because Undetectable isn't that good of an effect in chase. I will make a tweak to the Beast of Prey idea where you cannot lose Bloodlust when using a Killer ability.

For Iron Will, I actually did not know it always made Survivor completely silent. That seems unhealthy for the game, and ruins a lot of ideas for Killer perks that deal with sound. So for the sake of hoping they revert that, lets say they do so these perk ideas could still work and make those perks actually good enough to want to be used.

I don't believe that nobody would use them. There still will be lots of Killers that stick to the Meta perks that can consistently win games, but that would be at the cost of their fun. I feel a lot of these ideas could not only make bad perks a lot better, but can change up the feel of each game so that they won't get bored after a few hours of matches. But I would like to ask if you feel like a lot of these perks need to be stronger in order to make people use them, or if it's just the ideas themselves that won't do anything to make people want to use the perks.

Thank you for your feedback! And thanks for reading!

I think its still a problem when most of the perks are not viable. A perk like mad grit with a unique effect is ok, but bloodhound for example would just give two effects which you can get with other perks, addons etc.

But i guess nothing will ever really challenge gen perks anyway if the game stays at it is. So if we want more perk variety, maybe we need more basekit gen defense and a nerf to gen perks.

It means any Generator currently above 35% when the Obsession gets hooked, gets blocked for 45 seconds. Are you saying 35% is too strong or not strong enough? Because I could understand 35% being too strong.

35% is too strong. Hooking the obsession is not the easiest condition, but blocking every gen over 35% for 45 sec is a game changer. And you get the information which gens to pressure. If you use a build to change obsessions, its too oppressive.

  • Dead Mans Switch: does it mean every gen above 35% gets blocked or that every gen that reaches 35% gets blocked? I would change it that every gen above 50% gets blocked, but that could still be too strong.

For Beast of Prey I agree that they should just take out Bloodlust and make a brand new perk in its place. But Undetectable is very good in chase because you no longer have a Red Stain, and the idea was to not waste as much time and gain the benefits of Bloodlust III faster.

For Bloodhound it counters Iron Will, just like Stridor used to. Iron Will provides reduced grunts of pain by 100%. Bloodhound would allow you to hear them at 25% louder just like Stridor did with 50%. Also I might need to change up the wording, but it's 25% of ALL sound. Including footsteps, breathing, sounds of falling, etc. The blood being seen at all times makes it very hard for Survivors to play Immersed, they couldn't go in lockers without you knowing, when they walk you can still track them. I feel like it might have been TOO strong, but maybe I'm wrong. Thanks for your feedback, and thanks for reading these now and some later. :D

Undetectable in chase is sometimes a little bit useful. If it would be good, people would run Beast of Prey.

Iron will will now always make the survivor completely silent. I dont know their reason for the change, but they will 100% not revert it.

My biggest problem with this new perks would be that still nobody would use them.

  • Beast of prey: i would prefer a full rework. Undetectable in chase is not that useful and bloodlust is really problematic imo. Chases with bloodlust give you an easy down, but you lose the match bc of the time waste.

Bloodhound: 25% louder doesnt matter and its useless against IW. Seeing the blood is ok, but nobody will ever run it. Maybe more an activation after a hit. Example: After you hit a survivor, you see the aura of every survivor in your TR for 5 seconds.

I will read the other ones later.

  • Honestly i wouldnt like that. We have enough maps and many of them need fixes, some complete reworks. Then the chance is high that the new maps wouldnt be enjoyable.

I would have no problem with no chapter and they fix the game, but i dont care for new maps.

I was referring to rank 1. Someone who consistantly maintains rank 1 as killer is at the very least a good player. the majority of people who main a mobile killer use tinkerer in their build, and that ratio only gets stronger at high-level play.

Not really. I got rank 1 as killer one month or two months after i started playing. I played Hillibilly with BBQ, Nurses, Monitor and Sloppy. And since then i always reached rank 1 after rank reset without even trying.

With survivor its the same. It was a bit harder, bc i only play solo and i needed ds to get out of purple. But i play now for 3 years and the amount of bad survivor in red ranks is not funny. So its not surprising that many red ranks cant deal with tinkerer. But they cannot loop, do gens or get safe rescues, so its a hopeless case anyway.

  • I dont know either. I only watched the BotB-tournament and some Scrim-Matches. I cannot remember one tinkerer, so it certainly didnt got used often.

But im not surprised bc information perks get rarely used and undetectable is not really worth it.

What did you mean with highest level?

  • @Snowbawlzzz said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2445623#Comment_2445623

If it was a "noob stomper" it wouldn't have the massive pick rate that it does at the highest level

"Highest level". You mean red ranks? There are plenty of noobs. But thats not even the point. A perk can be a noob stomper and a decent perk against good players at the same time. Against good players tinkerer can be helpful, but it will not win you the game.

What is the pickrate of tinkerer in tournaments?

  • Tinkerer is a decent perk. Its just a noobstomper and i dont think we can nerf everything bc of this reason. Old ruin nerf was fine, but should we nerf legion bc bad players waste pallets against frenzy and struggle playing injured? Sometimes bad players need to learn how to counter something.

Undetectable is countered with game awareness. The same awareness the killer needs to have to know where the survivor are. And sure tinkerer helps with that, but survivor could use spine chill, when the basekit mechanics like TR dont work. And we should not forget that a killer needs to know what 4 people are doing.

For the tinkerer combinations: Ruin can be deleted and Pop needs a hook. And if the killer has a pop ready for every tinkerer notifications, your team gets demolished anyway.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/274027/why-do-we-still-have-syringe-and-brand-new-part-in-the-game

The syringe can just be wasted. You could get downed, it also uses up a whole medkit. That can be 2-3 heals gone for one nonecharged heal.

BNP is fine, most people will only hit one of the skill checks. What I think should happen however, is that it can't be used until 2-3 gens left. That would remove the amount of pressure given early.

The thing is bad players using these would still lose. So it doesnt matter, if they cant use their full potential. The problem with strong things is when good player use them.

Bnp or toolboxes in general are stronger for the last gens. You cant defend all gens anyway, so losing one early bc of bnp is not even that bad.

And i think the styptic syringe (purple) is better than the iridescent syringe.

Otz did not win any matches against well coordinated Teams though. He only won with Weaker Teams or just played sweaty af which got pretty boring fast.

I watch Otz for a long time and seeing him sweat is the fun part. Most other matches i close the stream bc its over after a short time (one dead at 4/5 gens) and the last 5 minutes is just ending the match.

  • You have on mistake there. Its true that survivor die immediately, if every other survivor is dead. But thats not the case if another survivor is still hooked. Even if another survivor is in the sacrifice animation, you get your unhook attempts.

  • They should really add them to the basekit perks. Apparently the shrine is rng, so new players could not get this perks for a long time, if they are unlucky.

  • You have a different skill rating for every killer in the MMR-system. So depending on the killer you get different survivor.

  • @SirGando said:

medkits are the best thing good survivors can have. Killers who pressure gens will injure you and within seconds you can heal and negate their pressure quickly. i also think killers will change their perk loadouts for that reason in high mmr. Ruin just isnt worth it when coordinated survivors can cleanse it in the first 30 to 60 seconds into a match.

Ruin is worth it. Otherwise it wouldnt be used in tournaments. But i think we will see it more often with pop.

I think medkits will promote tunneling. Its just not worth spreading the damage with most killer if they can heal quickly. And a destroyed pallet can be worth more than a hit with medkits.

  • I need it. But sadly i think Playstation is the hardest (most expensive) to get. I just want to switch to PC and leave the sinking ship called old consoles.

I would even be fine with a one-time-transfer.

People on this forum: Wow what a bad teammate leaving someone to go struggle smh, stay out of my lobbies.

I’m sitting here looking like the confused basketball player meme.

It's possible I read it wrong, but as I stated before, it doesn't change my opinion. A 4 v 1 is still better than a 3v1, and not worth the value of one gen completed in early game.

Possible is an understatement. I agree with your opinion 100%, but its just not the point of this thread. Its ok to bring it up, but you started with: "Give me your name. I want to lobby dodge you." Wasnt that wrong?

  • @Clevite said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2428314#Comment_2428314

That is fair. Semantics seems to be what separates us here. I think we both agree that a fellow survivor should be saved before second stage in the early game. Right?

I think we are debating whether OP meant that in this particular post. In either way, my belief is the same. Save someone before second stage. You can always return to a genny. And if your teammate is killing themselves, it's better to save them and keep the 4 v 1 then to let them die and have a 3 v 1 with 4 gennys left.

Its pretty obvious what OP meant.

"I won’t get off of my 80% completed gen" A hook stage is 60 seconds. So if the gen would be at 80% when you reach second stage, the gen would have been at 5% when the survivor got hooked. So OP would say always gens before unhooks and not write 80%.

"get you immediately" Thats pretty clear, right?

Just admit that you read it wrong. Sorry, if i sound rude, but this forum is full of people who only read the headline and take over the thread with a complete different discussion. And almost nobody admits it if they are in the wrong.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2422807#Comment_2422807

I don't that'd be much consolation for content creators like Otz. Besides, we aren't shown our MMR anyways right? So they wouldn't know if they're even on the high end of MMR or not.

Yh they dont want to show it. The devs said maybe in the future in a Q&A. And i think it would be really important.

But if content creators are important to the devs, they need to set a limit to matchmaking anyway. Matchmaking simulator stream is not a good promotion. So bc there are not enough people at high level, you would get weaker opponents sometimes, bc the matchmaking would prioritize time over rating.

  • @solidhex said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/272589/why-can-generator-be-popped-in-20-seconds

Why is this even a question? They had 3 toolboxes with BNP and probably used all of them at this one gen (which is extremely stupid, if they would have splitted up and used those individually you would have had a harder time). This is an extreme example and will not happen in your usual dbd pub match.

Losing 1 or 2 gens in higher ranks is completely normal and means nothing. Even if they split up and do 3 during the first chase (even tho it's not optimal for you), you can still win. Depends on various things.

You even said you're doing fine without add ons, and funnily this is something i've encountered multiple times in dbd - killers who are relatively good and doing fine complain the most, if in 1 out of 10 matches they don't get a flawless victory and completely destroy survivors. Since the MMR is active again i have to deal with all the bullshit 24/7, survivors abusing every single thing in their favour, toxic behaviour which makes me toxic in the next game, full meta perk setups, map offerings etc., it's just not fun, so survivors inappropriately using BNPs to do a single gen very fast and give you (thanks to boring Tinkerer) a big snowball potential, is in my opinion not the biggest issue right now.

How does someone get snowball potential with tinkerer? With no instadown he gets most of the time a hit and its rare that nobody spots him when there are 4 survivor. Most of the time you wouldnt even get fast enough to a gen without a movement killer if there are even two survivor with prove thyself.

  • @RoboMojo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2422123#Comment_2422123

I agree. Overall though, MMR will probably be a good thing for the average player. Matches will feel more fair and games where either side stomps the other will hopefully become much rarer. Content creators will probably suffer the most. Survivor content creators will likely be ok because it's still possible to play without the meta and win as long as you and your teammates are good. Killer content creators will probably suffer hard though.

I suppose this all just stems back to the fact that its simply not possible to even consider 12 Hooking against even semi-decent teams. So of course, High MMR is likely going to be a huge mishmash of tunnelling, slugging and camping (Which people typically don't enjoy). Ironically, if playing nice and 12 hooking became a somewhat viable strategy then MMR might just be a net benefit for the whole community. The Devs wouldn't do that though so I guess we're stuck in a situation where most players will be fine but the best players will take a hit.

They probably need something to show that you are high mmr. So streamer can prove that they are good player. Instead of winstreaks streamer could go for a high mmr rating.

  • @RoboMojo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2420377#Comment_2420377

That's true but it's not necessarily their fault. It's the Devs fault that holding W and pre-dropping pallets is so effective. The players are just taking advantage of that. Of course, this does in turn lead back to the issue of not enough Killers being viable against high MMR Survivors. If each Killer was buffed to have some tool to counter holding W then this wouldn't be as much of an issue but I honestly can't see the Devs going to all that effort so we're stuck back at square one.

Yh its not their fault. Im also doing it when im on deadhook or it is the endgame. And im not doing it always bc in solo que its not enough for 5 gens most of the time and im confident that i can loop the killer without it.

Again, gen speeds are a problem, but there's generally things you can do against pallets. Everyone's skill matters there.

    Unless it's a god pallet or you're a Nurse/spirit.

You can do something against a god pallet. Destroy it. Destroying a pallet is most of the time the best play, even if you could play around a pallet and get maybe a hit. You only shouldnt break the pallet if the chance is high that you get a hit. Otherwise its not worth it to try timewise.

What i want to say is that there a many pallets where you can outplay the survivor but the chance is higher that the survivor outplays you. So you get only a hit bc the survivor played worse than you. If you both would be equally skilled the survivor would win more often and that takes you too much time.

And for gen speeds: i dont like a flat time increase but changes to the early game, gen kicking, base regression would be good. Changes shouldnt make it worse for lower skill players and S-tier killer shouldnt get more oppressive.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2420651#Comment_2420651

    That's false.

You don't need to sweat to be good.

Some players will sweat and never be half as good as someone like Otz or Umbra. Other players can play casually and be better than them.

    It's a range.

But if he would reach this rating without sweating, he wouldnt need to sweat to not get demolished there. I mean it can take some time, bc every good killer got a high kill rate right now even without meta stuff bc red ranks is a joke. So you really just need to take some loses to get a lower MMR.

But in the end i think the main problem is that some still want 4ks in "fair" matches.

  • @Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2420673#Comment_2420673

You run to a pallet because them and windows are literally your only defense.

Gen speeds are a problem, but barring dumb maps and ridiculously safe pallets you can mindgame/killer power your way through most of them.

Yh so this killer have a problem with pallets. And yh i know it depends on the pallet.

You can mindgame a jungle gym. Most of the time its still better to break the pallet. So if i can get a hit with my power on a pallet, but it takes too much time, its not viable.

The problem is not getting a down. Its about the time you need for it.

I mean.. huntress, trickster, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head, Nemesis, Doctor, and Demo don't have problems with pallets.

They're meant to be a defense?

Idk. Do you run into a deadzone against those killer or do you run to a pallet?

You can certainly dont play as braindead against some killer then others, but you can still delay chases enough that gens get done before you are dead.

And are actually good with all 24 killers?

    Then what.

You know that if you lose you get lower mmr and weaker opponents? You dont need to sweat bc you get sweaty teams, you get sweaty teams bc you are sweaty.

Im fine with getting strong teams bc i get normally 90% 4ks without MMR. I just want to see my rating, so i can see how good i really am.

  • @Pirate said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2420539#Comment_2420539

It depends on the killer and the map.

With strong killers its usually 4k or 3k with hatch (I never slug for the 4k if the survivor is not littlerly in front of me and even give the hatch to the last guy pretty often) but I love playing weaker killer and still perform well and having fun. Against this survivors I will need to use my mains to win.

E.g. with Hillbilly I needed to play extremly well and sweaty to get 3k and thats just not my style XD I like to curve and get long sprint hits but in this map I needed to camp 2 gens and one hook at once to get a chance because 3 gens were done after 2min.

I think you just need to stop wanting a 4k. You will lose against this teams with your non-sweaty playstyle, but then you get lower mmr and after a while you will get fair matches for your fun playstyle.

  • What is your killrate normally?

  • @Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:

The problem is that S rank killers are S rank specifically because they completely ignore the defenses of the Survivor. Played properly, there's literally nothing you can do against them.

So your skills at the most fun part of the game are totally irrelevant.

But against every other killer i can just drop pallets and im safe. So my skill doesnt matter. Looping is only hard if you take risks bc you know your teammates take forever for 5 gens.

  • @RoboMojo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/272147/is-it-fun-to-play-against-killer-which-you-only-stomp

Maybe, but People like winning whereas People don't like losing. So, when something is introduced that makes it harder to win then that upsets people. There is also a potential lack of variety in Killers to play against which could make things boring for top level players. Only a small handful of Killers are actually viable against good Survivor teams (Mainly Nurse, Spirit and maybe Blight). This means of course that the High MMR Killers are only going to play those Killers because if they played anyone else, it'd be a guaranteed loss. I don't think there'd be as many complaints in this regard if most of the Killer roster stood a chance against good Survivor teams. As of right now though, most Killers cannot compete with good Survivors. This isn't necessarily a bad thing considering the casual nature of the game but it obviously poses a problem for High MMR play.

In theory good survivor could handycap themself and lower their ratings. (No items/perks etc.)

And i dont understand why they need killer variety. Good survivor play the same against almost every weak killer. Whats the difference between predropping pallets against Myers, Legion, Pig etc. Its the same gameplay.

  • Otz is currently trying to get 50wins in a row with Nemesis. He uses his tentacle (2&3) to break the pallet instead of hitting the survivor if the survivor is not infected. You lose less distance that way and can shred through pallets.

  • @Corns_Flake said:

For some reason the devs don't want to give him trapper sack as basekit because according to mclean "that gets people's foot in the door, then they'll start asking for other addons to be made base kit." It really perplexes me because basekit trapper is terrible but despite how this one change would make him so much better they're terrified of having to do work to get killers into a less addon reliant state.

When did McLean say that? They did it twice for wraith and there were some other instances where something from an addon was added to the basekit.

  • People who dont want MMR just want it easier. I can understand if a streamer who plays many hours a day doesnt want to sweat all day, but is it fair to their opponents which lose against them? Some players just need to forget their 4k mentality and be satisfied with their rating if they dont tryhard.

The problem is if you need to wait too long for a match bc you are too good. But that would be easy to fix with a limit. Maybe you should then compensate the "weaker" side for this matchup, but wouldnt it still be a improvement compared to now?

  • I want MMR bc its boring to play against and with weaker player.

As survivor i mostly need to do 3 gens and the killer ignores me bc i dont go down in 15 seconds. I get often killers who dont even try to mindgame and dont learn from their mistakes.

As killer you stomp one team after another and everything other than a 4k would be embarrassing. Then you get a good team but you dont play 100% until its too late.

But i think you need to see your own MMR.

  • Or the killer could just slug.

A trapper could trap the exits, plague could infect them, other killers are fast enough to patrol both gates etc. On some maps you can see both gates from the same spot or almost. Remember Me is weak, but would still make it almost impossible.

So there were always a lot of oppurtunities to make this unwinnable. But almost nobody did use them for that. Bc you can just slug and dont waste a perk slot.

  • A RPD map offering from the killer and then i load in and see a jigsaw box. I dont want to kill my team again.

1 … 18 19 20 21 22 … 54
