  • "They become available to buy with shards every October, right? Or is that not the case?"

Nobody knows. Last time it was shards. Before that an event currency. If i remember correctly, you could even buy the skins from the first event with the currency from the second event. But last year you could just buy the new ones with shards, every old one only with auric cells.

Abused to exploit the system, if you have say a score between 100-200, you would have to play worse a handful of games to decrease significantly in your rating.... knowing exactly the progress, you'd know exactly how much you need to play bad/ throw games to decrease so you get against weaker players.

Maybe in the future they will but that's the issue that will arise.

If i want to i can get the same result with trial and error. Do you think that now with the MMR people will downrank less than with the visible emblem system?

There are a lot of games with invisible mmr, which have a problem with smurfs and downranker.

I play Clown on rotation often. I'd like him to have some level of map pressure. Maybe something involving his horse, like have her galloping around the map and the Clown can ride it to get a short speed boost around the map. Maybe not Billy or Spirit speed, but enough for him to have a level of pressure.

Imagine hearing that terror radius music and a gallop too.

They had a short time where every new killer got a map traversal ability. I think it was around Demo. But then they stopped doing it and honestly i think its better this way. They should instead reduce the need for a traversal ability. Reduce the map size etc.

I just hope the devs dont think clown is fine bc his instadown addon makes him A-Tier and your rating is not influenced by addons.

  • I know only one thing regarding this: a clear definition for gen rushing doesnt exist. And without that its a pointless discussion.

  • We really need to see atleast our own MMR. If you play good in a game, you should be able to see your progress.

  • @Murgleïs said:

If you refuse to prove your 700 win streak "by estimate", remove it from your post then.

    Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

You could only prove a winstreak if you are doing it live.

What does it matter whether the winstreak is real or not?

  • I dont really understand why there are people, who are so triggered from this post.

I will never say i believe what someone on the internet says without proof, but why are people bothered by that claim? 700 wins isnt really a sign for exceptional skill, it means you are good and were lucky (but im not sure about the lucky part)

    The facts are:

    Hag is S-tier

Most people dont know how to play against her

    Use of strong addons

    Map offerings

700 matches in one year are not much. If you play at the right time, you can reduce the chance for a sweaty team.

So with all that 700 wins are not an feat that shows impressive skill, which exceeds every other player, its just a top 10% player, who maybe got a bit lucky with matchmaking.

So there is no boosting in this, only some nice information about hag. To be fair the only interesting info for a decent hag is the standstill mindgame.

  • @Pikachaouuu said:

As many say, getting things based on how well you play or how many matches you win (despite the fact no ones knows what is a win in this game) is going to make people become sweaty because of the rewards, especially if they put something extra nice as a reward.

I am not saying that everyone will become sweaty, but a good chunk of the playerbase will.

But i have to give a point to this in the sense that if they give for example an X amount of blood points based on the color (or whatever thing they ended up including like gold, silver, etc.) that you are at the end of the month it could help to sort of stop the grind this game has to level up stuff.

There are many games, that have rewards for skill and its not a sweatfest. There are sweaty players on the top (like in DbD), but if you dont sweat yourself you dont play against them.

I personally dont think any bloodpoint rewards would really lessen the grind. The new grades only give 250k bloodpoints and thats a month worth of playtime. You need millions of bloodpoints to give ONE character all perks and every dlc it gets worse. I understand that they dont want too many strong items/addons, but then they really need to change how you get perks.

3k and 4k will most likely increase your rating. 4k maybe a bit more. So there is not big of a difference in giving hatch to the last survivor.

I hope so, but we cant say for certain. We dont know how the MMR works, but killrate is one of the factors and 50% is a good outcome. Every other factor shouldnt be influenced with my mercy decision at the end.

So in 100 matches i should get rougly 200 kills. If every outcome (0k, 1k, 2k, ..) has the same chance i got 20 4ks. With mercy its 20 kills less and i get 180 kills, so 45% killrate. No problem. So if 40 matches would be 4k, it would mean 40% winrate.

So if killrate is only one of many factors, it really shouldnt be a problem. It only could become a problem, if its combined with other factors like camping and slugging for less hooks etc. But thats really unlikely.

  • @Mandy said:

As of right now there's no specific plan for you to see your own SBMM rating - this might be something that is implemented in the future, but not right now.

With regards to game specific things that could increase/decrease your SBMM rating, we're deliberately not giving out this information as we want players to play the game as they normally would do and allow their ratings to adjust naturally.

I understand that players shouldnt be affected with this information. To be honest i just dont want to reverse boost myself bc i lower my killrate with giving hatch. So i think it would be best if hatch escapes effect the killer score less, nobody likes slugging for the 4k anyway.

  • @JohnWeak said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2470052#Comment_2470052

Never allow the players to see their own SBMM, it will just bring toxicity.

The only thing the playerbase has to know is :

    • the game has a working matchmaking
    • you will play with and against players of your skill level

That's all they need to know and then enjoy balanced trials. Who cares to know if they are at the top or at the bottom of the system if the trials they get are fun and fair ?

I care. A important part for me in playing games is to improve. And if i get always the same results, its hard to see.

  • @White_Owl said:

Honestly if I stop having braindead teammates that's enough of a reward.

Yh that is really great. But that is only 50% of my matches. The other 50% is me playing killer.

  • @ShinobuSK said:

Every game with sbmm has multiple modes, I really dont understand why dbd is keeping just one

But many games have one MMR-mode and the other is ranked. So MMR is the casual mode.

So we need ranked, not casual.

  • The MMR-system is the casual mode. You and i are just no casuals.

What we need would be a rank mode. A mode, where you can sweat for your rank and rewards. If there would be one, you just need to never sweat in the MMR-mode and you would be fine with a low MMR.

The MMR-system protects the casual player in the casual playlist from better players. Should the game just "trust" you that you will just mess around and match you with players, who have normally no chance against you? I dont doubt you, but there are players, who would abuse that.

  • @FFirebrandd said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2469878#Comment_2469878

Because this game is not competitive. Whenever people start trying to make it competitive, it falls to pieces in the worst possible way and becomes an unfun mess.

Showing and giving rewards for MMR is probably the fastest possible way to destroy the game.

So rewarding play time is fine. Good even. Rewarding MMR points will turn the game into a massive sweat factory.

But the sweaty people would play with each other. Other games with ranked system are sweaty, but around bronze-gold its casual. Some people sweat even with the emblem system and if its fun for them, so be it.

Its still is a downside, but there are also positive effects. It would reduce smurfs/deranker, increase player engagement rate (with a goal to reach) and lessen frustrations of high elo player.

Wait, they don't give back your cosmetics when that bug happens? That's deplorable.

I could've swore I saw somebody say that BHVR keeps track of the amount of bp people have earned, do they not do the same thing with shards, cells, DLC, and cosmetics?

I think event items are flashlights, toolbox etc. and not cosmetics. But some people lost legacy forever, so i wouldnt be surprised.

  • @FFirebrandd said:

No there should absolutely not be rewards for that.

    Why?

  • @CornHub said:

I do, but people would deduce how high their MMR ranking is based off that & abuse it.

How would they abuse it? Using it to determine how the system works? Maybe you should only be able to see the change in your ratings every week?

I think some people will figure some things out even without the rating, but with or without rating nobody will know everything.

  • @PlayEvilDead said:

and your time is used more productively farming a lower elo than running around in miserable chases or looking for stealthy swf on comms imo

Yh but the point is that there is no choice. You can get the 250k bloodpoints and farm bloodpoints in a low elo at the same time.

  • @PlayEvilDead said:

You would get more bp much more quickly by staying at a lower elo and being able to spare the perk slot for bbq and just one hooking everybody while slapping them and letting them heal to do it a few more times or to slug them all a couple of times and then intentionally missing a lot of swings and breaking off chases to start new ones while also being able to have more fun ironically in spite of how tedious that may sound. Unless they give out a significant amount of auric that is how I'm going to play always having four escapes. Which is already how I play doctor most of the time anyways since it's just fun to chase them around and hear them getting zapped and I do that for the lulz. And some still get mad lmfao. hell if I came back while waiting for evil dead I don't even think I will play killer ata ll again and if survivor hit 5 minute queue length I would just permanently uninstall and consider the game truly no longer playable

This rewards are for play time. You get absolute nothing for a high elo.

  • @Trickstaaaaa said:

Maybe then a survive mode. Were it's basically survivors have to survive for 15 minutes, no gens. So it's purely about chases and stealth. Now of course some perks would not be usable. But killer would only have to focus on chases, in other words the fun part about the game. Not worrying about gens and whatnot.

That makes no sense. A killer can only chase one survivor. So a 1vs1 chase mode would be better. But then there would be less killer in the standard playlist.

  • It would be interesting. And ranked would be probably easier (if rank reset exists) than the "casual" playlist with MMR, but i dont know how it would affect matchmaking time.

  • I did not pay any cosmetics. I only bought the battlepass once and licensed character. But bc of the console problems i skipped Resident Evil.

But i think it doesnt matter. The most money comes from "whales", who spend hundreds or even thousands in the game. If they dont stop, nothing changes. And i know some who will only stop, when they quit the game. And they spend so much money, so they dont want to quit.

And there is probably many new players and they dont care about the problems. They have just fun with the "new" game.

  • @chargernick85 said:

The most fun games are games where any side could have won. Could be a 4k at 1 gen remaining, a 1-3k game where they barely made it out. The one sided way the current MM is these route are much harder to get. I personally just want a reason to be rank 1/high MMR. Current system there is no good reason for me to be rank 1 except games where I have to sweat more often. I am fine with that if there is a reason so hopefully the rank rewards comes soon.

So you are happy with the planned rank rewards? (500k Bloodpoints) Or would you prefer something different?

The rank rewards depend on your playtime in the month, your rating/how hard your matches are dont matter. So it will be no reward for "sweating".

I personally like also close matches more. If you know that your opponents are good, even a draw can feel satisfying. But i would want to see my rating to see how i improve.

  • Wait, why did you mention BBQ?

And hitting someone on the hook, doesnt win you games. Its your choice what you do, but i think theres a big difference in using valid tactics like tunneling for the win and just bming.

  • If you dont get entity displeased, you shouldnt downrank. Except for the rank reset on the 13th every month.

If you are sure that you dont got an Entity displeased, it could be a bug.

    • farming the survivors for the win condition would make the game harder in the long run.
    • 4k lose would become boring fast
    • you stay were you are. Which is either elo hell or elo heaven.

Would you want a high MMR? If not which incentive would change that or is there none?

For example: more bloodpoints or XP (shards) for high mmr-games, visible rank to show your experience or cosmetics rewards.

  • @Tsulan said:

Its better to keep the win conditions a secret. That way no one will abuse the system.

But honestly? Some people will quickly figure out what the win conditions are... so...

Yh some will atleast get pretty close with testing.

But whats your opinion about the three topics?

    - "Farming" the survivor for the win condition after killing one early

    - 4k and it counts as a lose

    - both sides win or lose at the same time

  • The problem is not the lack of communication in solo que, its the player you get when you play solo. In of my rare hag matches i had good teammates and suddenly it was a complete different experience.

Triggering traps in the right time to destroy them was really fun. But i can understand that its a different experience compared to other killer and not everybody likes it. But i think its good that we have some unique killer.

  • So i should take all the info perks for the small chance that i get this map. And even if i learn the map in KYF, my three teammate probably dont do it.

My experience with this map is just a betting game which side dcs first.

  • I mean you always see only 10 perks at best. Most perks are just bad.

  • @ad19970 said:

I have a strong suspicion you got stomped by someone using that build.

Yes this build certainly makes chasing and finding survivors easier, but if you think all it takes are these four perks to just turn off you brain and still do well, then I don't know what to say. You won't be handed downs just by using this build.

I see you dont understand the point of this post. Its not to badmouth this build, its just a decent build which you can use on auto-pilot. Its an example i came up with bc many people said that ruin/undying/tinkerer is braindead, so i wanted to show what is really braindead. Kinda lead their argument ad absurdum.

This post isnt even written in a serious tone, i partly tried to imitate a telemaketer and i used some snappy phrases. I had fun writing this, but maybe my intent wasnt clear bc my english isnt fluent, so its on me.

And for the strength of the build. I know that it is not the strongest, but no build will give you consistently free downs. And you will probably lose a lot against decent survivor, but if every survivor would be decent, you couldnt use 70% of the killer. When i remember correctly i got a 80% winrate with old wraith with this build a year ago. I didnt play braindead, but i played wraith with bone clapper and the uncloak without TR. Anyway the point of this build is to not think, winning isnt that important. Its enough that you have a chance against average red ranks with low effort.

As last another topic: which info could i give in my threads that i dont need to deal with this assumption comments anymore?

    I have 2500 hours.

    I play both sides equally

    I have maybe a 75% winrate (4k/3k hatch

I have some addonless 25 winstreaks with some killer

  • @Fobbo said:

Maybe on bubba and other insta down killers but you dont really want spirit fury/enduring on killers like nurse, spirit, hag and you dont need it on blight so i dont think it really is braindead

Every perk has different value for every killer. I dont understand the point. The title is not "universal build for every killer". Its about not needing to use your brain in the match, so if you want to play "braindead". And Spirit Fury/Enduring isnt meta on any killer and once again the title is not "strongest" build.

And sorry, if i sound rude. This little rant is not about you in personal. You are just the tenth person, who posted something like this.

  • I never bring an item except for challenges. On my main im hoarding all items, but im also dont use items on other characters. I like having the handicap and i dont waste time equipping something.

E/SF meta died because they've been nerfing chase potential for killer. But now that they've made camping pallets super safe for Survivors, i wouldn't be surprised if E/SF makes a resurgeance. All my games i have people camping pallets. There's no looping it's either camping pallets or shift W, i don't know why BHVR ignores this problem, what's the point of chases then? I can't count how manny times i make survivors scream and i don't get the hit on pallets. And i doubt my 57ms Ping is the issue...Just yesterday i lunge at a survivor before we jump and hit doesn't connect mid air and survivor gets Balanced Landing and i'm eating cooldown and slowdown... Just yesterday i had a Jake do a full Yamahoka run never letting go of Shift W and i couldn't catch up, he didn't had Sprint Burst or Lithe, the Map RNG was so bad i always had to lose time during the chase, the guy appologized in end game chat cause he knew i should have been able to get him.

E/SF-meta died bc survivor found the counter for it. Predropping pallets. And killer realized that even the free hit you get sometimes, is worth less than what two perks can do.

Even with the new hit validation camping pallets for a stun is not worth it. Predropping and taking no risk is still the best strategy, if you know your team is not allergic to gens.

Gen regression is and was always the meta. Just look at tournaments. They did use Pop/Ruin forever, despite the bad synergy, but in public this combo is only more common since a few months.

The only chance i see is a change, when the new MMR changes the data, but even then its unlikely. Or maybe their key/mori change will shake things up in two years.

But in the meantime you still have the option to use strong killer with strong perks, if you want to have a chance against equally skilled survivor, which also try to win.

  • @Hoodied said:

That combo isn't that good because prethrowing pallets is better than stunning

I dont know why everyone thinks this build is flawless. I mean its for a braindead playstyle. It works better then you would expect from not thinking, but its certainly not perfect.

I mean its no secret why the Enduring/Spirit Fury-Meta died.

  • @BarbecueiChilli said:

most perks are braindead, or even all. what's the point of calling someone braindead then?

Is there even one situation where its not pointless to call someone braindead? I mean if they are really braindead, they cant hear you.

  • @Ssajbambusa said:

I didn't say good survivor. Just not braindead. Oh stunning him with pallets works against me... maybe I should throw them early? Isn't it like common sense?

So you are saying that most players dont have common sense? You are probably right. But seriously there are red rank survivor who cant even run in a straight line.

  • @Ssajbambusa said:

You can have the best build in the world and most broken addons - but if you play braindead against not braindead survivors you get genrushed in 4 minutes. And how is this braindead build anyway? Just anti pallet - god windows are still in game, not to mention mind games and stealth or simply throwing pallet early. Ah yes... it does need to think for longer than 3 seconds as a survivor to figure it out...

Yh of course you will lose against good survivor. It would be really bad if you could win braindead against them.

Working means doing something. TWO of the four perks you can equip as a killer being dedicated to pallet stuns is a really bad idea. Bubba is the ONLY one that thrives off of this because he can force stuns with his chainsaw speed, other killers do not follow this principle. You can just predrop the pallet and now what are they gonna do? Pick it back up and slam it on their own heads? It just doesn't work if the survivor pre-drops it, and 9/10 times they will the second they realize you've got the combo. You might get off one suprise hit or down sure, but then those perks become basically useless for the rest of the game. Green ranks are the only people that actually fall for that combo consistently. Bamboozle also fails pretty hard against most red rank players since they know to just run to another loop. PGTW is the only saving grace of that build and even then you can't even run that on phead lul. The only reason the build is braindead is because you'd have to be stupid as hell to pick it up and think you'll get ez wins.

You are clearly overestimating red ranks.

I have 2500 hours and i know that this build is useless against good teams. I quote myself: "But if you lose against a good team, just complain that its unfair bc they tryhard so much, that they use their brains in a video game."

But thats not the point. The point is that this build is braindead and it gives you decent results against the weak players called average red rank.

  • @UncleStabby said:

Spirit Fury/Enduring isnt that bad in the slightest you have to take up two perk slots just to counter things like god loops and Lag Hard plays, so its risk/reward if anything.

But isnt it a bad combo, if you need to use two perks slots and still have a risk that its useless?

  • Now you have atleast something. Keep it up.

  • @TacitusKilgore said:

It doesn't really work on most killers though. It is an "anti looping" build, which would theoretically let you turn your brain off, but the fact that gens will fly and you've got the map pressure of a baby trapper perk wise, its ineffective on most of the cast. The only killers who use this well are instadown killers, bubba being the absoloute best of them to use this build on. But otherwise it kinda sucks balls.

What means working? Its enough for the average red rank team. Of course gens will fly. Pressuring gens against a competent team is a complex objective which requires thought, nothing you could accomplish braindead.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

I expected something more... You know... Meta.

Two of the four perks have a really high pickrate and the other two were meta some years ago. There are maybe ten "meta" perks and not all of them can be used braindead.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2463488#Comment_2463488

Yes, the big effort of following the "Pressure here"-Sign from Tinkerer. Which is the biggest problem, because Tinkerer completely removes the need of any Map Awareness when it comes to "Which Gen is being worked on?".

If you only pressure gens at 70% you will lose against a competent team. Its good info and it can save you a gen, but when your are only relying on that, you will lose.

  • @stormy_ said:

i am sure ... hackers are still there ... otherwise whats kind of perk show him exactly where am i ... even if some of them camp .. ..

What loadout did they have? Read every perk and addon description after the game and if he has nothing for it, you can rule that out.

You could show gameplay, so we can tell you more. When did the wraith see you the last time, scratchmarks, crows, is a gen nearby?

  • You dont really need good windows or pallets in haddonfield. Just take a house and run in circles. The killer cant mindgame you and needs forever to catch up.
