People who get Badham are lucky? What in the?

I like that painting, hopefully the survivor looks kind of like that when they launch.

Perhaps now people will stop saying killer is fine and stop ignoring balance requests because their own personal experience has mainly been against bad players.
I doubt it, but you never know, they got slapped hard with a wake up call. So maybe? It might be healthy in the long run. Mmr is here to stay and is much better for the game. The issue is the game is not really balanced to account for mmr. They need to make some drastic changes or this negative sentiment is going nowhere fast.

As far as i know u can't derank. But also it allows u to have fun. Once u hit your chosen color (iri, gold, silver etc) u can't derank no matter u do. So after u hit it u can play whatever u want.
You are correct, the grades do not derank. You stay at whatever emblem you achieve until reset.
I am just saying I would tolerate all of the annoying 3 to 4 man escapes until my Legion mmr normalized. A lot of people are getting stomped because the data from before mmr was 4k after 4k after 4k. And against survivors of the same level, they aren't able to compete any more.
I personally do not think giving up and converting to Nurse only makes any sense for anyone besides streamers dedicated to brining high level games to their audience. Normal people do not need to resort to that.
-
I wouldn't quit my favorite killer just because of mmr when I could just derank...
-
Haddonfield is the most balanced map in the game, Kira4Evr is trying to gaslight you.

I think the fov is the bigger issue. The sensitivity is fine for me.

That's the thing, I've seen Killers say the same thing countless times, making it very clear that leaving after everyone's safe is the kind thing to do.
Which is why I think that anyone who uses this as an excuse is just straight up lying, unless they're new.
No, it is just a difference of opinion. I like the free hits and lots of survivors give them to me. The real weirdos are the ones who want you to get to gate so they can dart out WITHOUT giving me my bloodpoints. Foul creatures.

Maybe they should add a system to where when the killer is close to the hook the sacrifice timer stops or is slowed 🤔🤔🤔?
How long do you want to get face camped? Because that is how you get to not play the game for longer than the 2 minutes you usually get.
-
I play him a lot, but do not rock add ons. But if I did, it would be just to instantly kill the one survivor who never interacted with me.
-
I am obsessed with what my sister and I call the "broken snoot" build. To encourage myself to play Pig more even though she is basically useless, I wanted to run Enduring, Brutal Strength, and Fire Up and just disrespect pallets 24/7. The issue? Now I like this on basically every m1 killer, not just Pig. It just feels so good.

Doesn't really matter. They are different. Its the same thing as saying something like Leatherface is just another chainsaw killer even though they are different. They aren't the exact same thing and can both earn their spot.
I mean, Billy is literally just a rip off of Leatherface, though. Like, obviously they play differently, but he was made pretty redundant with the acquisition of Bubba. Word up.
At least when we get Jason, Trapper will still have his traps and tight leather to differentiate himself. Billy is just kind of Cannibal on a diet. Less people to eat, I guess.

I consider him to be very weak.
・The reach of the attack is noticeably shorter than the others
・Summons of Pain is basically useless
・CH is difficult to activate, and even if it is activated, it ends immediately
I feel that he needs to make some adjustments.
The only time field control works is when you're up against a survivor who doesn't know his gimmick.
When you're dealing with a survivor who understands you, you can't control them.
But it's an interesting killer, that's for sure.
That was just the lunge bug, which they have since fixed, I believe. His range is the same as everyone else. Or at least it is supposed to be if that bug is still not addressed.

-
More or less, yes. I mean, recently I have been hard tunneled... a lot, and nobody comes to save. So, you know, I would be lying if I said it was super fun when I am just messing around, going for basic challenges, and I get removed from the game instantly if my slippery meat doesn't proc.
As killer? No complaints. Heck, even as survivor, the quality is much higher if I manage to not be the first one spotted.
-
If we get any new Resident Evil killer, it better be Lady Dimitrescu. Nemesis is lucky the developers were simping for a garbage bag wearing jester in the first place. We were ROBBED!
-
I love going against Pinhead, having complete control over his power makes it more fun than, well... Typically anyone else. He is the only killer I actually feel confident against and that is even considering I am console and the mapping issue exists.

Are u allowed to use hatchets on this challengue? I saw one guy doing this add-ons combo and he only used 1 hatchet at the entire game. And he hit 1 surv at exit door. It was funny and troll xD.
As long as you get 10 hits while empty, you are free to return to the hatchet lifestyle.
-
To buff solo without buffing swf? Add voice chat, basically.
-
You almost have to level him to get that dank hoarder/franklins combo. He is useless without chain hunt. But with it? I assume that is what survivor mains are crying about. Hopefully they aren't complaining about base Pinhead. But I wouldn't be surprised.

I always assumed that the spawn points were generally random. Are they not?
They quite clearly are random if you ask me. Maybe after 1000's of hours they have discerned a pattern, and they know when the rng loads them far, or close, ahead or behind. At an angle. Or sets of 2, or 3 and 1. All together, or all separate. They are just masters of observation and I will never be on their level. They just naturally learned all the spawns of dozens of maps, they can feel it based on the direction of the wind.

I thought that this might have been about killer / survivor spawn distances. I still have an old game recorded in which the four of us spawned at the exit gate at Gideon's, began making our way into the map, and Freddy's terror radius kicked in before we even left the room. It was six seconds into the match. Six.
To be fair, that is a problem too. The people who pretend they learned they spawns have clearly never run Lethal Pursuer... That is all I can say.

There’s no immediate way to tell. If it’s an indoor map and they ALWAYS run away before you get to them then it’s likely Spine Chill. If they vault quicker while healthy it’s guaranteed Spine Chill.
You just have to use your game sense. It’s really difficult to tell sometimes though. As someone said, survivors benefit from a very generous FOV while killers have Fat Stomach syndrome and can’t see their own, uh… you know.
Their toes? You meant toes, correct?

I do not complain about the hold w meta. If anything, I think we need a survivor validation revert to encourage less pallet camping. M'kay?

Let us know how that goes!
I was just being facetious and implying the game would be dead in a month, I am not going anywhere. I am a console peasant. Us folk do not play these P to the C games.
-
No. Why is it too strong? Because it gives a second chance? How would that be too powerful unless the first chance was overtuned? But since that is not a common belief, I fail to see why so many killers can't deal with an extended chase. It is not that big of a deal.

Spine Chill only tells you the killer is approaching, it doesn't tell the direction. I play a lot of Ghostface and Wraith and the amount of times survivors literally run into me is astonishing.
Never said they were efficient, I'm just against people who say holding W is automatic win, instead of admiting they are simply not good with those killers.
Maybe I just get unlucky... I never get them to run into me. Like, ever.
It happens with Freddy for some reason. Never Ghostface. I think it happens on Wraith and Pig relatively frequently. I always assumed it was because she is so slow, or that he is so fast. Idk.

Myers, Ghostface and Pig are stealth killers, you can't hold W against someone you do not see coming. Myers and Ghostface can also instadown so they halve chase time.
Plague is a borderline instadown killer with her infection, and Corrupt Purge is a ranged.
Bubba instadowns, if you have Chilli + Beast Marks you can literally catch up to a Sprint Burst.
The other ones do suffer more against holding W, but Freddy compensates that with his teleport and Pyramid is amazing at tunneling.
Tell that to the Spine Chill users.
And their chase times are good, but you have to account for all the awkward set up and staring to even activate the instadowns. It is not like they are some wildly efficient killers.

I still don't see how you're conflating the "average MMR" as being easier. The former means your killer will be treated like any other killer. Easier means it will be not, or a lower skill than your average.
So, either they misspoke and were misleading, or the community manager who wrote the news article was woefully misinformed as to how MMR actually worked.
It is based on your other killers is what they said, so I am just assuming average. But that is not really the point, that is the base value. If that value is too high, it will adjust accordingly and lower itself, presumably in less games than characters with stable mmr. So while I suppose you are correct and that first game is not easier, ideally all of the following games should be.
-
Pretty sure he will continue on an upward trend with mmr. I am telling you those bum tier lists that people hold true based on that old ranking system designed around 4king inept survivors is OUTDATED. As the game is balanced a lot more around that 2k figure, I think people will find certain killers to be way more efficient relative to their lower placements because "muh 4v1". Bubba and Nemesis being at the top of my head.
-
I mean, if you want to jam to some chase music, turn it up in your headphones! Nobody is stopping you.

" easier matches when you’re trying out a new Killer for the first time."
"Well actually it takes the average of your other killers"
You can see how those two statements are different, right?
They are not mutually exclusive. The word they used was "easier" and we literally have a numerical value that I will not state, because they get really sensitive about it. Your mmr is BASED on your average and then individually adjusts from there because it is a separate value.
People are confusing this as your average mmr is being used for every killer when that is just the base line for NEW killers. If this guy was not a great Hag, but still got 4k after 4k under the old system while they were collecting data, it will take longer to adjust than if he had never played Hag before. But even if he never played Hag before, it would still recognize that he is generally a high mmr killer and not feed him baby survivors.
It still does what they claimed it does. There is no lie or deception. People just assumed it would put you at the lowest for whatever reason when basically no competitive game EVER does that. Even those kids who got 0-30 in CoD aren't instantly matched into protected brackets. They have to "earn" their way down with consistently poor performance.

Nurse will outpace

Spirit will outpace
Oni with Demon Dash will outpace
Freddy will teleport in front of them
Demo will teleport in front of them and can close an 11 meter gap as it's attack.
Hag will teleport on top of them and hit them
Huntress will snipe
Deathslinger will pull
A lot of those teleport strats are circumstantial. But yeah, generally speaking the high tier killers and ranged killers can deal with it. I think the issue is more for the rest of the killers, fam.
-
Nothing about their statement is false though...
Removing Pinhead's voiceline without explanation. Shady. Explaining how mmr works that was reiterated AND confirmed via data mine... Not shady.

You can easily stomp noobs without using killer specific mechanics though.
you really think it’s okay for Someone starting the game to against a 10K hour killer just because they never played the newly released killer? but starting with an higher mmr in the new killer would be not enjoyable or user-friendly?
Yeah, you can play most killers as m1 killers with exception to the slower movement speed ones. And even then, I feel like certain powers are good at baiting m1 at loops without much specialized knowledge such as Trickster or Hag. Just my opinion, obviously.
Take Nemesis as an example. If you just played without using his power much, you could easily have your mmr right around the standard m1 killers. Now if you used tentacle only? All of a sudden he is going to play like a harder to use ranged killer.
So it all kind of depends.

I didn't specify that they aren't, in fact I agree that Myers is sneaky and I generally don't enjoy facing him. In fact I generally don't enjoy facing any killer that can just turn off their terror radius, one of the few allegedly guaranteed tools that a survivor is supposed to be able to defend themselves with. That said, I think that there's more to Pig (the reverse bear traps) and Michael's power is at least rooted in fidelity to the character. Ghostface is just the "turn off the TR, creep in the grass, and get one-hit down" guy. No offense to anyone who uses him (including yourself, I presume, as you have him in your avatar), but I just don't think that there's a good balance between what is required for what he's able to accomplish. I can respect that he's not as easy to use as some other killers but I still find him cheap.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2511599#Comment_2511599
I know (or at least have heard). That was just one of my jabs at the worshipful nature that the community at large has towards "content creators" (AKA people who play this game a lot and thus are assumed to know what's best for it).
I was just curious because I put all three in the same category, myself. I use them all. Personally I feel like Evil Within is way easier to use because survivors cannot break your power by looking at you and I can mass slug, and I find Pig to be more "cheap" because of rng. So I just personally found it strange that you specified Ghostface as I always say him as the more "honest" of the 3.
Either way, I see where you are coming from. At least Myers and Pig kind of have conditions to remove their radius and their powers are finite with some tradeoffs.
-
I would nerf every flashlight add on. The last thing we need is crazier flashlights. To compensate, they can buff the medkit and toolbox add ons. Ez.

@miketheratguy said:
Nurse is probably 60/40 in my experience. The other day, while rare, we all escaped a Spirit who was using survivor pudding. Blight's gotten up there but so has Wraith, regardless of how many killer mains want to protect him from criticism. Hag and Ghostface are still super sneaky, cheap killers. People main Trickster enough to be decent with him now. Pinhead is doing fine. I've seen people killed, or been killed by, everyone from Deathslinger to Demogorgon. Leatherface is still guaranteed to get at least one kill, especially if he camps like he pretty much always does. I get 4Ks with Doc on a regular basis.
My point is that this is anecdotal but no, I disagree that only a negligible percentage of the killers in this game are effective.
How is Ghostface sneaky and cheap, but Myers and Pig are chill? What is the difference?
-
Small tweaks aren't going to change 90% of the killer roster. Lol.
There is not even a point to slightly change killers to be perfectly honest. Qol changes are nice, but it would be easier to just wait and hope the next killer is usable.
