2 weeks is not that long. I would expect some changes for the mid chapter. They will want to collect at least a month's worth of relevant data.

Well, I guess the loss still feels bad unless you change your goal in the game.
If I play Ghostface to get a 4k every game I will feel pretty bad. If I play him and say "okay I use BBQ and a win is 4 stacks, also maybe I can get a good stalk and a nice jump scare." I get a good feel 9/10 games. Made my day a whole lot better. Sure survivors escape and some have bad manners, but I am Ghostface and can t-bag right back at them.
Same for Pinhead. Sweaty play or Meta builds were no fun for me. So I went back to his 3 personal perks and added Hex: Thrill of the Hunt. Would Pop/Ruin be better than my Scourge Hooks? Sure thing. Is it more fun to have survivors who are oblivious to you and take forever to cleanse? Yes it is. Quit many survivors escape me, sure. But it is still more fun.
TLDR: I hate people who say they play chill and then bring the most meta build ever. Nothing wrong with trying your best, thats all fun and games, but please do not pretend otherwise. If tryharding is fun for you, do it...
And if you pretend to be chill just to have an excuse when you still loose...well...lets just say I will not hold them in the highest regards.
Playing chill is about playing chill. I used to chill with Ruin and NOED. I kind of outgrew the perks as I got better, but I was chilling as a beginner despite my tricked out perks. Some people think BBQ is sweaty, like, you can never win. Go for 2 hooks before kills and the survivors will still think you have a case of swamp booty.

You're talking about game were Pig was nerfed multiple times
That was before my time, rofl. In that case, I take it back. Pinhead nerfs incoming before his voice line returns.
-
Mmr humbled most of the killer mains I watch. But yeah, they are going through that shattered ego phase.
-
It is literally the same as the old rank system with exception to no deranking...
-
Yeah, you do that. Because I somehow doubt he is going to get nerfed... Ever.
-
Looping doesn't really give you many bloodpoints. You need to do all the other stuff. Healing is usually where most people are missing out, I think. If you do a little bit of everything and escape, you should make more than the killer if they were bad.

I understand it's up to Capcom
Nice, you got your answer right there
Do you think BHVR would pass on the opportunity to release skins if they had the possibility to do so? 😂
But we already got skins for Jill and Leon... Not counting the character swaps. Why would Capcom be so in love with the trash bags but say whatever to Resident Evil characters that people actually care about?

Just for future experience, treat all killers like they have no red stain and no terror radius, even if you know they have one.
It'll greatly improve your survivor gameplay. Keep those eyes peeled.
If my eyes are peeled, won't I see his red stain?
-
I do not condone this behavior unless they flashlight blinded you. Because otherwise I would be a hypocrite. Flashlight users need to learn that as a Mogwai, bright lights turn me into a Gremlin, it is really the survivor's fault when you think about it. I had one rule and they broke... I weep for them.
Killers doing it unprovoked are beta.
-
All I can say is that there is more than one reason they are deleting posts about that "leak." As a lower mmr player, it was extremely easy to verify that as false.
Maybe higher mmr players just have more work to undo. The system clearly boosts people as per the same leak. I would take it with a grain of salt.
I went from needing survivors to stand at the exit gate to get my Nurse daily done to being able to 4 man slug win games with her as a console player with like 3 games under my belt. Trust me, there is a HUGE difference once it normalizes.
-
Yeah, I would say a good 8 or 9 out of 10 seem to be killer challenges. No idea why. Same rng they use for maps? Lol.
-
No, it is based on mmr and time of day (plus region), my survivor queues get LONG during the night. There is no killer waiting for me, fam. And given I get instant queues as killer at the same time, I am not waiting for anybody either.

@Artick said:
With a lengthy cooldown, like 60 seconds, it would work.
I feel like it would be useless with any cooldown. It needs to just be silent, period, or it wouldn't be worth running.
-
@Ix_SITH_xI said:
Wat. if you do the gens EVEN FASTER, then you'll never see the killer. the game will be over in 3 min, everyone will get sub 5k BP and you're just back in a new queue to do the same thing over again. Like Mr K said, lets just add a perk that lets you scale the wall and just leave lmao
That is more or less what keys are, no? All we need to do is buff the hatch to instantly spawn.
-
I wouldn't afk, I do not trust tat method. BBQ stacks and then just chasing around and slugging? It works.
-
For fun. And individual killer mmr is not a lie.
-
I am really excited for my first Halloween event, and can't wait to see what it is like to be in the circle for my first original killer reveal. Technically I saw the All Kill trailer before he released, but I didn't fully comprehend what DBD was at that point in time. And the performance has improved SUBSTANTIALLY since I joined. MMR more or less works as intended and this latest rift was quite fun to go through. Not much to complain about besides balance, but that is like every game ever that has issues with that. Game developers really need a bit of objectivity, me thinks.

well maybe because they dont feel like its a GG.
i also dont say gg even if i win as survivor and it wasnt a fun match why would you expect people saying gg when they didnt have fun?
or do you say always gg when you lose?
also why is a GG so important i dont get it.
Good sportsmanship matters to some, such as myself. Why? Because I was somehow raised better than 99% of people which is a real shocker if you vaguely knew who my mother was. If she could manage it, anyone could, they just choose not to.

I feel a lot of his personality was stripped from him. I honestly do not really play him as much just because mute bondage porcupine is less engaging.

Frankly, FOMO is historically best coupled with artificial scarcity rather than legitimate scarcity - it lets people ride multiple hype trains, which the games and toy industry excels at providing.
It depends on how you define artifical and legitimate, I suppose. But generally speaking, knowing something isn't going to return brings out the money bags regardless.

I like Spirit’s weapon the best, being honest.
But I love Ghostface’s weapon wipe animation most, it’s the most satisfying to me somehow.
Not going to lie, it is half the reason I play him as often as I do. If you are going to stab a lot of people, might as well have a sick animation to enjoy.

My love for the game has been slowly leaking out. I'm not even 100% sure why either. I don't think killer is that much worse than it has been in the past for me (although that might be part of the problem for it's like you said early in the thread; every game seems to be either getting your ass handed to you or handing the survivors asses to them with very little middle ground any more).
But I feel like maybe that's just the ultimate destination of a game like this. The killer has to ultimately become the punching bag as low level survivors need the killer to be like that so they have a chance but this comes at the expense of high level killers as high level survivors know all the tricks to make the killer look silly. If you adjust it, low level survivors get frustrated by being constantly stomped and you lose out on all that sexy new player money. Old vets have already given you their money so them leaving out of frustration is negligible as long as new blood keeps flowing in...
All I can is new survivors aren't abusing strong loops or pallets. You could EASILY reduce the impact of high level survivors without compromising new players whatsoever.
-
I have a feeling we are sticking with mmr, don't you worry about that one bit.
-
Honestly, they fixed like half a dozen bugs I ran into regularly. So I am happy. But yeah, I am sure this is just a drop in the bucket compared to what still needs done. Rofl.
-
I have to sweat to keep my Freddy MMR high, which I would like to do so I can play against good players when I feel like it. Not going to lie, it is not a taste that leaves me super satisfied, but I want to have the option available to me. I will be the big bad killer that the forums cry about, defying everything in the survivor rule book like some sort of antichrist to maintain it. I am not Otz, I joined during the 5th anniversary. So I need to tunnel, proxy, face camp hook states, blah blah blah. Anything that survivor mains cry about, really. Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer. Heck, I might even start running NOED to bump my average 2k to a 3k. Who knows? I love my BBQ, but it makes me do stupid things like loop house of pain.
For the rest of my killers? We chilling. I can play super nice and prefer to. But on Freddy... 1,2 I am coming for you, and only you. 3,4, you will be bored. 5,6, I will get my fix. 7,8, never leave the hook at this rate.
-
You need a mindset change, survivor's should not be triggering you. There is nothing to be mad about. It is just a game that you are playing for fun. If you accept that as the truth, it really is that simple.
Think about what is frustrating you, genuinely think about it and ask yourself "why?" I bet you cannot find a good answer. Once you establish that, all you will need to do is remind yourself whenever you feel compelled to disconnect and keep playing the game out.
It will never be easy, but that self awareness is the key to preventing that undesirable behavior. You need to check yourself before you wreck yourself, like, literally. If this is the only game you enjoy playing, losing access to it just because some survivor with less style and grace than Funky Kong disrespected you, who is winning, really? If anything, I urge you to stop just to prevent their satisfaction. They get off on it, bro.

To me (and this is subjective, as is the nature of the game) a good game is simply a solid back and forth that lasts ten minutes in which everyone ends up with a relatively close amount of points (more if someone was using a BP booster, sure).
If I win as killer and make 45,000 points to a survivor's 7,000, I'll be honest, I feel pretty crappy. If I die as survivor and I see that I made roughly the same 23,000 that the killer and all the other players made, I consider it a good match. I guess you can say that I like balanced gameplay with fair reward more than I like "winning".
Heck, I do not care about the rest of the people. I got into a game as old Leatherface. Got my BBQ stacks in like a minute because 3 of them were potatoes. And then I found David. This guy, so cocky, he disrespected my chainsaw dash... And it worked. That was when I knew I was in for it. Mind game city. It was really fun because I outplayed him about half the time, he outplayed me half the time. It was perfect.
No idea if he had fun getting tunneled for the entire game. But he did really well, so I assume he did, and I let him go instead of taking the third hook because he gave me such a fun game. So that was only like a 6 hook game, 4 escapes. But it was the best one I have had in awhile in terms of how much fun I had.
The game just before that it took me 3 gens to get my first down where I felt really cheated with the pallet interactions. And so I just made it an unplanned Basement Bubba game, not that it yielded anything as she waited, and once the last 2 gens popped less than a minute later, she just killed herself on hook. So... Yeah.
I like difficult chases because the survivor is smart, not because the map was good for them and the server decides some really jank nonsense.

My guess is that face-camping/proxy-tunneling has gotten so bad that it will force the developers to do something. Survivors players aren't even getting to play the game, it's so bad.
Too much work to change the game to make it balanced when they can just... Not.

For double BP I would play the ######### out of it.
Dunno why people think casual mode will be full of tryhards, its almost as if they never played any other game beside dbd or something
I wouldn't normally be interested in a competitive version of THIS game... But for double BP? You already convinced me.

Trickster: “DC sound”
I seriously get a DC in over half my matches with him. Wish they would add an archives challenge to get a DC in 15 seconds. I want the bloodpoints for my talent, please.
-
Tunnel them faster? Ha ha ha... When 3 gens pop in like a minute, I mostly just give up to be real with you. I take my down and face camp it. Squeeze out some bloodpoints before the game ends, you know? Those games are relatively rare for me. Like, gens fly regardless. But you can tell the difference from gen rushers to competent survivors. And sometimes you just get rushed before you manage to establish yourself. It happens.

@MeatBycicle said:
SBMM has absolutely no benefit to killer, its only a benefit to survivors. The higher your MMR goes as a killer, the sweater teams you will be facing, at after reaching a certain threshold of rating you will be playing against survivors who all know how to run and loop well, know all the strats and outplays to every killer and every map.
As your MMR climbs higher on survivor, you get to sit comfortable knowing that every teammate you get will know how to run and loop the killer, and will be doing generators.
How does MMR positively effect killers? It doesn't.
It benefits low mmr killers a lot, and lets just say there is a monetary incentive for them to keep it that way. Believe it or not, new players don't enjoy 4 man flashlight sabo squads trolling them the entire duration of a match.
Don't get me wrong, experiencing those clowns inspired me to get better quickly. But I am not your average new player. Most of them just gave up which is WHY I had to play against those red rank swf as a green killer in the first place.

@thrawn3054 said:
Uhh killers the easiest it's ever been.
With mmr? Nah. I know that is like the survivor catch phrase, but it definitely got more challenging for high mmr players. Even if the game used to have infinites for whatever screwed up reason. Killers relied a lot on potatoes being in the lobby, but now, there are far less of those in any given game because I get them all to myself. Yummy!
-
There are lots of reasons. I hate teammates and I love iconic horror characters (and the survivor choices in game as sus beyond Ash which is like the weird TV show version of him and Jill, which we don't talk about).
Even from a gameplay perspective I much prefer kicking gens and breaking pallets to qte and dropping them. Chasing is easier than running away. I get to play the entire match instead of hanging on a hook hoping someone yanks me off of it. The killers all have unique powers whereas survivor is a reskin regardless of who you pick.
Heck, I even get more bloodpoints. As survivor, going itemless is kind of dull, but I hate wasting items. As killer, going add-on-less is fine. Most of the time.
-
I kind of want to maintain the high mmr for when I feel like playing against strong survivors. So I have to try my best to not derank.
On my other killers? Way ahead of you.
-
But why not just run Starstruck and avoid the downsides?
-
Well, I play A LOT less Freddy which is my only high mmr killer. Otherwise, about the same.

Already explained this, Jesus Christ. Huntress has issues with her movement speed but Trickster doesn't with add on which allows him to get cheap hits in that huntress can't and this stacks up. Also I don't remember Huntress spewing out 40 goddamn hatchets.
You certainly talk about your killer in such a way that makes me believe you are a Trickster main. Totally! Those cheaps hits! Its like you didn't even aim them.

I thought about it. Play how you like, but I was referencing OP.
I'd still rather go and chase then stand by a hook. But, I'll play how I like. The beauty of DBD.
Yeah, I prefer just running around. I was never a huge fan of camping in first person shooters which is why I got into Overwatch, even their professional players do not check corners because of how wildly inefficient the bush wookie lifestyle is in that game.
That being said, when I am playing to win on Freddy, lol. I wouldn't leave it for the world. But for a Klondike bar? Maybe.
-
An adrenaline squad? Naisu. Very underrated perk. I mean, most people put it near the top, but still, very underrated.

@Clevite said:
Tell me you're a camper without telling me ......
No, I am countering their camping. Big difference, this is the alpha Chad Park Ranger method. I am out in the open and have a 32 meter terror radius. The true camper is squatting in a bush like a coward. Think about it.
-
Well, luckily I do not have friends. Also, no comment.

@Mooks said:
So.. you are saying that BBQ encourages camping?
It encourages me to proxy. If I do not see anyone to go after, I am not leaving.
-
Dead hard is fine, the people complaining about it are just not comprehending that the issue is the game design as a whole. It is literally the only second chance that survivors have control over which is why it feels so powerful when used properly.
-
Trickster is SS on the survivor tier list. They see the game more as which killers smack them hardest in a 1v1 as opposed to how good a killer actually is.

Thrilling Tremors is budget BBQ that's mainly for information and rarely blocks crucial gens. This is an actual slowdown perk.
Mechanically similar with entity blocking but their uses would be the exact opposite
So, thrilling tremors but better?
-
This game doesn't strike me as the type that wants to modernize.
