I understand a killer that tunnels me or anyone with 0 deaths and at endgame, but since the 1st second of the game tunnel anyone is just frustrating, many killers have got decent 4k without tunneling and camping, I can't understand why someone enters the game with the need to ruin someone's day.
That is the problem, it is nothing personal. There is no ill intent, it could be you, it could be the other guy, or the other one, or even the other one. If gens are flying and I want to keep playing, I need to turn it into a 3v1. I am not good enough at the game to stop people from ending the match in 5 minutes if three people are on gens. Do not worry, there is always next match where maybe that killer is good enough to 2 hook everyone before going for executions. But you deal with the cards you were given, I don't exactly like playing against those types of survivors either. But you do not see me complaining. I just do what I have to do.

The ones on licensed characters are presumably due to contractual agreements on how those characters will be depicted.
The ones on non-licensed characters tend to be outfits that don't have easy separation points at the neck and waist, usually dresses and hoodies.
Some people seem to be convinced BHVR makes certain cosmetics sets for 'no reason' or 'out of spite', which is absolutely ridiculous.
I mean, the new Meg outfit is a dress that can be separated. Why is that? Seems arbitrary to me, but apparently that is absolutely ridiculous. So surely there is an explanation I am missing?

@GlamourousLeviathan said:
I feel like BHVR should be more transparent with their data. On LoL for example, you can always see the results of your last matches and third party sites always show each character and person's win rate all the time. I feel like half of DbD discussions would be over if we could always have updated data.
No, even when you have irrefutable data, people still argue with their feelings. Trust me.
-
No, as a killer main who does this on survivor... I respect it.

script kiddies who are either dissatisfied with the current state of the game, looking to get reactions from people since they thrive off it or maybe they're so bad they want to cheat to make themselves feel good.
some cheaters are so bad at the game they still die/lose even with their little scripts/client or whatever they use. A friend of mine had a lagswitcher and bled them out. Funny stuff
Basement Bubba is a decent way to get reactions without hacking. You probably get better ones too, because lots of people genuinely believe face camping is worse than hacking.
-
I do not want to be that guy, but it is 5 years too late. If they banned everyone who was toxic, we would lose like a quarter of our entire playerbase. Typically you need systems in place from early on to create a deterrant before the normal people leave. But the more toxicity, the more normal people leave which messes up the ratio and creates an experience that people carry with them to other games.
Back when I was Overwatch only, I heard so much about the toxicity of this game and how it was worse. Luckily for me, those psychos were wrong. This game so friendly compared to Overwatch and I love it here. I only get toxicity like once every 20 matches, if even that. With Overwatch, my own teammates would start while we were WINNING almost every other game.
-
I just stick with 60. I used to run max on Call of Duty and stuff back in the day, but ever since getting into Overwatch, I found lower sensitivity wasn't as bad as people made it out to be and a lot of top hitscan players run lower sensitivity too. So, yeah. Really, as always, it is a comfort thing. There is no secret success number or anything.

You were likely "censored" because you were making inappropriate sexualising comments about women lmao
When the guy named "Step on me Adiris" has to set the record straight, you know that he went way overboard. Like, I ain't even know what he said, but surely it was extreme. Lol.
Anyways, more attractive female killers, pls.

Wait, you want to make him easier to reveal and compensate with... slightly earlier information? Disgusting. This idea is not to my liking.

I never got the idea to nerf SWF. It’s a big part of the game’s success. Better thing to do is buff solos and buff killers in some way.
They are just frustrated. Not thinking straight because of the salt, you know?
-
The nerf changes nothing for my Spirit. Like, I was literally already blind when playing her and unable to track even low mmr survivors. So them being able to hear me and see dust is whatever. She will always be useless in my hands.
-
Eh, a lot of asterisks will be needed. Like, Trapper is no longer worse than Pinhead without hoarder/Franklin's. Something like that? It also depends on if Pig gets a substantial buff with the add on pass instead of just a Tampered Timer nerf. But realistically, all 3 of these suck and you would be better of playing any other killer people pretend are nearly that bad. Michael, Clown and Legion are typically the ones that people somehow think are worse than Trapper and Pig. How? Who knows.

Exactly and the closer you are to the starting MMR the more hackers you will face simply because thats where their new account will be at.
I have only run into one suspected hacker at low mmr. I guess that is one more than I ever expected, but trust me, they would bust out the hacks if they had them as the rank discrepancy is large.
-
I have never really tried it. If I recall, that one needs an obsession, correct? Sounds like a pain. But I guess with the add on, it might be worth the effort. I am an add-on-less gamer, however.
I was kind of thinking of using some meme trail of torment, tinkerer, hex plaything nonsense, and with the Retribution buff, I think I found my 4th. Same idea, you become budget Michael instead of relying on your power for stealth.
-
I, as a killer main, do not want any survivor perks nerfed. And I also think uncleansable totems should be fixed. Not even fronting, I genuinely believe these statements. For real. I know it sounds crazy, because I play one role more than the other, but this is the truth. Promises.

DS is useless if killers don't tunnel the survivors. That's what peoeple say- there is a large "if" in the statement.
Not the statements I have been reading. I see that sentiment more with unbreakable than DS (which is a strong perk that I do NOT see in 9 out of 10 builds, by the way). People literally say they gutted decisive.
I see a lot of good survivors run it not necessarily to counter tunneling, but to get a free escape during end game collapse. That is basically why True runs it.
-
I do not think survivor needs directly nerfed so much as they need to address some maps. I guess that would be nerfing them though.
Personally, I am down with adding comms for survivors to compensate.

Does anybody else check the forums every 10 minutes solely to watch everybody losing their #########?
I haven't been this captivated since the DS nerf, when everybody cried doom and despair and that DS was useless now and nobody would ever run it anymore (Yeah, I member).
People STILL pretend DS is useless even though 90% of survivors I encounter have it on their builds.

Pretty sure water isnt wet, if I'm not mistaken wet is when something goes from dry to wet. As water is a liquid it's not actually possible to go from dry to wet.
But no saying a game is balanced if you dont run meta is stupid, because the more you win the more unbalanced its get as your opponents are far stronger and likely using meta therefore your forced to do the same to just try be on an equal field.
If everyone was perkless who would have more strength? Survivors. With no regression and it being a 4v1 you wouldn't be able to stop gens or have perks to help certain killers in survivor favoured loops. All your end up with is a killer tunneling because they know theres no ds/bt and that wouldn't be a fun game
You are mistaken. Water is indeed wet, believe it or not. Kind of crazy, I know, but it is the truth.

All I am saying is that Mortal Kombat had Jason, Alien, and Predator. Does DBD? Think about it...

I think as mmr settles, his placement on tier lists will rise. He is extremely underrated and yet we have people believing PINHEAD is decent, like, lol... what in the actual hell are people basing these wack opinions on?

We dont have any stats since SBMM release. SBMM changed everything. In the old system, unskilled survivor were top rank, now it's not the case so Kill rate is way lower for sure.
Yeah, I could 4k red rank survivors back when I was first starting out and made it to green rank, rofl. Those kill rates are INFLATED.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2518094#Comment_2518094
So you're telling us that perks matter for SBMM? If I put 4 horrible perks I will face only new survivors? Do you have any official statement that confirms this? Because I would love to run meme perks.
Your performance will naturally decrease if you run bad perks. If you played your favorite killer on two brand new accounts for 100 games. One perkless, and one with Ruin only, which account do you think would have higher mmr?

What's the point of this challenge? Why would you even play huntress then? Like the challenges that made no sense to play a character wrong wasn't good to see, but this challenge straight up tells you to not play huntress while playing huntress?
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/LM2I49QLR693/image.png
Nobody want's challenges like these, why were they even considered to be used as a challenge. It's not a challenge, it's literally saying "Play huntress without her power". Which isn't a huntress challenge, just play Legion and that's the same effect. Is no one in the office calling people out on their bad ideas?
Well, I mean, Legion has a faster movement speed and no lullaby, plus part of the challenge is discarding your hatchets. It kind of had to be her, or Trickster, I guess.

Ah yes, apologies, it took me 2 months to learn in and out the best killer in the game, known for being difficult to learn and learn well. I'm sorry for not clarifying that 2 months of practice time means that she is- in fact- not impossible to learn.
Just in case we need a recap, class, "Impossible" here means that it cannot be done, ever, regardless of how much or how many people try, and regardless of how much effort is put into it.
(I wasn't putting 100% into it- I had a lot of other things to focus on too at the time)
I honestly do not know where he stated it was impossible, but if he did, I think that response makes more sense for him. I was just agreeing with his statement that she is not beginner friendly which you also stated here. From experience as a relatively new player, it is easier to learn the game itself, like the role of killer, to a competent level, than it is to learn Nurse.
And quite frankly? If a new player started out as a Nurse one trick? They would need to put a lot of effort into learning basically anyone else as she has very few transferable skills.
She is really not in a good place skill gap, wise. Her floor is way too high. Generally speaking, well designed characters have low skill floors and high skill ceilings to create a broad skill curve. She doesn't have that which is what his point seemed to be.
-
I am not desperate for mmr so much as I do not know where the other 2 are. Like, I am going where I know the people are, bruh. If my BBQ doesn't find anyone, you really think I am about to leave? That's cute. I need to counter their camping. Word up, I despise campers and must enact my revenge on that Blendette waiting for the unhook.
-
@theyenveeshay said:
Some of these responses give "I'm garbage at the game so I camp everyone to avoid learning how to actually play"
I cannot camp everyone. Only one to three at a time.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
Why do players act like they are "forced" to do things? If you want to camp and tunnel or if you want to run 4 Slowdown-Perks, do so, but dont act like you are forced to do it. It is your own decision.
You can win games without any Slowdown-Perks.
Okay, I facecamp of my own volition based on pre-set conditions the survivors force. Gg ez.
-
The issue is not swapping, it is the last minute nature of their swap. Survivors need to be locked 10 seconds before killer, in my humble opinion. So very humble that opinion is, by the way.

I literally denied that Nurse was butchered for new people and Pyramid Head was made weaker, and then said that some others were justified (and Billy should be reverted)...
To be fair, your counter argument was, "it took me 2 months to learn Nurse." Like... I would say his point stands based on your own admission.

@unluckycombo said:
Boon Totems haven't even been released yet... We should at least hold our judgement off of them until we hear about how they function and test it out a bit on PTB.
Along with this, I would like to just point out that while Survivors do have more perks, I'd argue that overall Killer does have stronger and more influential perks (Along with a power and other abilities like faster base movement speed). That isn't to say there isn't a huge disparity between perk strength rn (Because there is, and this is an issue on both sides), but Killers do have some really good stuff available to them, some of which get overlooked a lot.
I also just want to point out that Survivors do have more objectives then just doing gens, in a same manner as Killers having more objectives then just Killing Survivors. Sure, those are the primary goals, but with things like daily challenges, archives, along with the popularity of certain perks (Like Thana and Ruin), they do have more to do then just 'Sit on the gen all game', and Killers do have a lot of opportunities to make and create pressure, along with buy themselves more time. (Again, Survivors do have to do things like bones to counter Hex perks, and healing to counter things like Thana- along with stopping and saving a fellow hooked/downed Survivor.)
Idk man, I'm just saying we shouldn't judge a perk type we know nothing about yet, and I think overall Killers have a lot more power then they tend to give themselves credit for over how the game plays out.
I heavily disagree. The good killer perks? Absolutely. Much better than most good survivor perks and the best killer perks are arguably better than the best survivor perks. But a good 75% of killer perks are absolutely useless. Not bad, useless. Survivors have lots of bad perks, but very few are useless. That is the key difference, imo.
It is just simple math. If a killer runs one or two meme perks, 25% to 50% of the build is compromised. If a survivor runs one or two meme perks, well, you know, the other three probably aren't going to.
And even then, some of the memes survivors have are genuinely effective with coordination and offerings. I once had a group with that Yui perk while running boil over and breakdown with a triple hook distance offering sending me to the swamp with brown cosmetics. That game was agonizing. But I got the annoying Jeff that seemed to be their leader.
-
I am not a huge fan of most speed decreased killers. Huntress is really the only one I feel merits it. And if Nurse does because, well, you know, making her useless to 90% of the playerbase and God tier for everyone who learned her makes a lot of sense. But if she did need lower movement speed, why not the standard 110%?
-
I have gotten some weird matches thrown in with my normal ones, yeah.
-
It didn't explain anything to me... Like, what am I supposed to be seeing?
-
As someone who dies a lot... It hasn't helped. Not yet, anyway.
-
I just run brutal, enduring, and fire up to clean up pallets, walls, and gens. And BBQ, but that is not technically part of the build. I would probably add Bamboozle once I no longer need copious amounts of bloodpoints. To scale with fire up and make me feel like a survivor main!
-
Play how you want to play. Nothing is right or wrong. It is how you want to enjoy the game.
-
@Jasix said:
ROFL people using comp matches as their basis for public match experience. ROFLMAO!
I mean, 3 gens can still pop on your first chase regardless of what level you play. Doing gens is not exactly a high skill cap feat that only the best of the best can manage. I just had it happen to me on Pig and my mmr should be near the bottom with her as I play the "get BBQ stacks and follow the last trapped user while crouching to get a head pop playstyle."
3 gens flew because I had to break every pallet (which I disrespected every single one to get early drops with brutal/enduring/fire up). Without slugging, I didn't have enough pressure to keep them off gens even though the last 3 chases were sub 30 seconds and I was chasing one almost immediately after hooking except for at the end where I was just chilling in Shack waiting for them to come unhook my trapped final girl. So I gave that one up for free because I actually had to struggle just to get 4 stacks of BBQ before the game was over.
This is rare. By the way, usually games go well over 10 minutes because low mmr survivors refuse to touch gens. But that is the thing. If they just decide, "hey, that one thing from the tutorial? Let's do them" it is difficult to keep up with the tempo. At least as m1 killers without gen regression. Pig has slowdown too. I have no idea how they were managing to juggle getting traps off, getting someone off hook/healing while maintaining a gen as one was being chased. For beginners, I mean.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
How is franklins meta on cenobite? I think it's kinda bad, theoretically. If you grab the box after injuring the carrier. The box instantly respawns whilst you are chasing that person. That's bad, you wanna down that person so you can capitalise on the chain hunt more.
I like it because it makes getting the down really easy. Kind of like a reverse Legion.

I would still do them for bloodpoints and inner strength heals. NOED is whatever.

As a killer main, I am actually pretty excited about them too. I obviously get the concern, but I am willing to wait and see how they are implemented before sounding the alarm. And even if they end up being really horrible, at least they might be fun as survivor. I do like totem builds as survivor, so maybe I am biased.

He got old? I kind of like him because of all the different mechanics. He has more depth than most killers, imo. But he kind of becomes just an m1 killer against competent survivors which sucks.
-
No console? No shot. Not even worth vaguely considering. It will take away from DBD's playerbase for less than a month and then die.
-
As a Nancy one trick, I vibe with it. Those bones are no match for me! I am still relatively new, so I haven't "learned" much of the less obvious spots quite yet. But you know, I am getting better at it.
-
I wouldn't worry about the Nurse. Even if she reported you, nothing would happen.
But yeah, the DC penalty is a bit outdated in the age of hackers. Maybe if they designed their game a bit better so they couldn't hold the game hostage. We need a surrender option.
-
Wait, what did she get out of it? I thought it was just nerfs without compensation. What did I miss?
