You are getting WAY too ahead of yourself. Look at the 6 perks they just released and tell me they are serious about changing the meta. Go ahead. Try it.
-
That IS her purpose. To make us say, "huh, Dredge is not THAT bad!"

TricksterShadow doesn't even care for DBD anymore. Once VHS is out he's jumping ship for that. I would take anything he says for a grain of salt.
But you do not even need to be good at math to figure out why this system is much better. It is pretty obvious that just prestiging a character and instantly unlocking the perk for everyone is substantially better than, well... Not. All my level 50 killers will be p1 once this update drops and 1/3 of the grind is instantly gone and I immediately have access to everything. Insane.
I do not even know who TricksterShadow is, but you should only take opinions with a grain of salt. The numbers are pretty objective, fam.
-
I am pretty sure that is just the announcement of the next chapter. The one with Wesker. Because, you know, W.
-
I... Um... There are hundreds of things I would prefer they address over this and I am one of the people who does NOT believe the game is on fire. Rofl.

That's exactly why i like perks like
Power Struggle, Boon: Whatever, Flashbang, and Any Means Necessary.
They bring small little mechanics to make games different
Absolutely. We need more perks like this. For the survivor players who actually want to have fun. Let the second chance enthusiasts have their 4 second chances, but at least make fun perks for the rest of us. Why do they feel the need to make niche perks... That are conditional? Like, what? Ain't nobody got time fo dat.

Oh it’s all good, I’ll probably still be somewhat active but not as much as I used to because I definitely needed a break from this game. I’m thinking about returning when the chapter drops if it goes well, but no guarantees.
Who needs DBD when we have Hooked on You? Spirit is actually top tier in that one. Ayy.
No Iron Will either. Clearly the superior Spirit experience.
-
Spirit is the only character I wanted to be perfectly honest. The other choices will be fun, I am sure. I guess I am weirded out by no Trickster or Legion.
-
@Brimp said:
Its really not an issue and I find anyone that thinks it is just likes to drag out the game longer than it needs to be.
I can extend the game even with this mechanic in place. Don't worry about that. That is not why I think the system is silly.
-
Nah, this is more or less the only one I do not even attempt. I guess the hatch ones are really annoying nowadays, but those aren't "modern" anymore.
-
I am a huge Attack on Titan fan, so probably that. I doubt I will even buy the skins as I hate survivor and titans are lowkey ugly. Maybe the Beast Titan skin if it is on a killer I play frequently.
-
It will only hurt new players as the new grind reduction will mitigate the need for the perk for veterans.

Can't wait for a chance to use this line when I find a Chris main.
And then the survivors will be like, "don't worry, we won't take up THAT much of your time."

I say, what makes most sense monetarily? I'd say by far resident evil 5 Wesker, I'd bet money on it even.
Imagine he could dodge pallet stuns with good timing or maybe a cool down using his super speed idk. I'm down for whatever, I love resident evil.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2958808#Comment_2958808
Right? Killers and survs constantly acting oppressed all the time is hilarious. Killers like to act like it's absolutely impossible to win without gen regression, all killers are unviable trash, and that they face 4 man death squads constantly, whilst survivors act like every killer lives and breathes on only camping and tunneling them. I'd say more but it's not the topic xD.
Okay, but Artist really is not as great as the YouTubers say she is. I will admit, when you compare her to every other killer that released since Nemesis, sure... She seems borderline broken. That is only because the other ones were about as useless as Trickster.
I do not really complain about the killer experience or the survivor experience myself. But in regard to viability, Artist is overrated as hell. Again, I suppose when you consider all the nerfs to certain killers and the microbuffs to bottom killers, in the grand scheme of things, she is relatively high on any given tier list, and that is fair, I guess?
However, she does not flat out destroy all survivors. That is absurd.
-
@DangerScouse said:
Probably impotent and easily bullied Wesker. Per all recent new killers. Gotta keep those survivors happy.
So... Basically RE1 Wesker?
-
Oh, yes, I believe most players will look exclusively at their mouths and not literally everything else that differentiates them. This is so confusing for me as a survivor main.
-
If boons are such a big problem, it is worth a perk slot. What is so irreplaceable in your build? I find room for Lightborn in literally any set up from end game, to anti pallet, to potato sack troll. You name it. Surely you can just use this one if you see a Mikaela in the lobby. Lol.
-
These are MUCH higher quality than the crowns. And they each represent a year of killer or a year of survivor for the SIXTH anniversary. I think that is cute.
-
If there is an original survivor with a bigger cup size... That one. Preferably goth.
-
I am not sure either, I kept Bubba at prestige 1 to unlock every perk on him as he is my main. But apparently we will get rewarded for getting to p3 before the update. But a developer said if you already have everything, it is better to wait.
So... I am not sure if I am supposed to take that as the "legacy" reward is gimmicky and not worth it, or if they meant solely based on bloodpoint value. I never wanted to lose all my cakes and map offerings, so I kind of want to wait, but it would be weird to be number one Leatherface in my heart and not have his unique legacy item. Albeit, they stole my faces from me, so I guess it hardly matters.
-
It was always survivor sided, it is just that without mmr, there were so many potatoes filling the "high ranks" that it was hard to tell. Even now survivors throw guaranteed 3 man escapes to help the one dude on his first hook. Lol.
But to be honest, they have loosened mmr a lot from when it first appeared. They feed you plenty of cans now whereas before every game was difficult.
-
Nah, they can keep him as he is. Just nerf Pig again, that should be enough appeasement to show that they care about survivors.
-
@IlliterateGenocide said:
I'm just worried I'll get slapped with noed the second before I get to the escape point and insta mori. Or all my teammates get to the gate we all try to leave but I get hit with a hatchet when they leave.
Instant death like that sounds bullshit.
Some of the coolest clips I have seen from survivors are escapes from killers who are BMing them. That all goes out the window now that they are instantly executed.
-
I wouldn't mind having the option to put me in games with less SWF as a survivor.
I do not care as killer. I just hate having those clowns for teammates.
-
Borrowed time is becoming a base mechanic for survivors, so it needs reworked regardless.
Barbecue is mostly just used for the BP. No idea why they do not know that, but whatever. Very little will change unless they nerf the BP gain, and even if they do, the grind reduction makes BBQ less relevant anyways.
-
@Peanits said:
As you've mentioned, you could just as easily not down them if you want to let them escape. If you insist on 'establishing dominance', getting close enough to down them and choosing not to still sends the same message.
But why not just have the fatality as an option? Sometimes it is faster to just down them and carry them to hatch, imo.
-
I am VERY happy with the stream, I had a lot of fun and love almost everything they announced. Especially that dating sim, this is truly the brightest timeline.

This is taken directly from the patch notes
I just wanted to make a thread because AFK pig was a hot topic on the forums for a while. It was nice to get a bit of closure on it
I was just so confused because nerf Pig topics are such a rampant joke and the idea of literally invalidating her power sounds fake, but still something Behavior would totally do. I was lost. Ha ha ha... Thanks so much for the response.
-
Is this real, or satire to make fun of the developers? I genuinely cannot tell...
-
I hope you are the only one who thinks the grind reduction somehow made the grind worse.
-
@Firellius said:
In fairness, while DS absolutely deserved its nerfs, it is a bad perk in its current state and is -still- complained about.
It is literally second only to Dead Hard, fam. Bad perk... Like, maybe in the same way killer mains pretend that NOED is bad. No idea why people feel the need to be so disingenuous as though it will save your precious perk from further nerfs.
-
I am extremely jealous of ranged killer mains. All three are so baller.
-
@IamFran said:
Why is there some dissatisfied people? What do you want? Maybe all the perks at tier 3 in the other characters just for buying a new characters? If you remove the grind completely isn't good imo, there has to be some sense of progression.
This change reduces the grinding dramatically. I have all the killers and when I buy a new killer I only need to prestige 1 that new killer for unlocking the perks for all the killers at once and I also maintain the items I earned before prestiging.
The only thing I don't like about this change is this should have been implemented as an Anniversary update feature, not as another SOON™.
Indeed. I want to get started right away, but I would ironically increase my grind if I do not just hold off. Lol.

I be waiting for this guy complaints when wesker get released.
I will complain if he doesn't have his Samurai Edge to blast survivors with, if that makes your anticipation greater.
-
Not only did they address it better than I imagined, but they retroactively convinced me that they were justified on holding off from changing it sooner given this is what they were working on, I was really impressed.
-
She looks alright, I have a bigger issue with her hair, she was like the Attack on Titan prototype with that scuffed weave before they decided to drop the anime aesthetic and just make cosplay instead. Her wig is split, fam.
-
I am scared we will get Volcano Wesker and not actual Wesker, and then I am scared he will try to be less viable than Dredge. Lots of fear. Which is what DBD is all about.
-
I might need to dust off the laptop to play this one, usually I am anti PC, but for a dating sim? Exceptions can be made. Definitely going the Spirit route.
-
I saw it on the stream and was like, "yo, that dude is on the forums." True story, bruh.
-
I thought they buffed prestige so you no longer lose anything, though?

Dead Hard; Either you love it, or it's on your ######### list. Same with NOED.
I am pretty neutral about both to be honest. I am just built different, I suppose.
-
There are supposed to be 4 survivors for every killer. It would be very odd if killer was the power role as you would have too many killer players and not enough survivors. So, yes, I assume they are quite happy with the balance they achieved. They have done it better than literally every other asymmetrical game which is why the game is still extremely popular and didn't die in like a month.

Well, killswitching the offering/map again would be an embarassing implicit admission of a royal ######### up of what happens when relying on band-aids and no Q&A whatsoever.
I do not buy it. They would be embarrassed by the implicit admission, but not by the actual problem that confirms their, um... Eccentricity.

That's almost a Generator's worth of time the Killer wastes waiting for 2 Perks, that the Survivor may or may not have. That's a win in my book
And that is why no intelligent killer trying to tunnel someone out waits for DS.
-
That is impressive, to accelerate THAT much in just one second? Well done, Meg.

Don´t worry. Next chapter is around the corner. Then all the people that complain about only seeing Legion, will complain about only seeing the new killer.
Until the new killer is low tier and everyone asks, "where are all the new killers at?"
-
Absolutely. This one HAS to be good and I am sure they are well aware of that fact. I like to believe the reason everything lately has been kind of meh is because they are saving some hype for a big anniversary reveal. I am still holding out hope that we will get a licensed killer, as I do not believe they would actually give us an original killer while we are in the red.
-
@GoshJosh said:
Sounds more like they broke your spirit than the game.
Wow, you even got an image of the survivors after they landed the head on. Impressive.

@Rivyn said:
To entertain survivors in whatever fashion they choose.
They choose to just sit on gens while I stare at one of them on hook. It is a nice symbiotic relationship. I entertain them in exchange for free kills.
-
This story was not fun, I want a refund. I sometimes run Sloppy Butcher to try and troll survivors who bring 3 or 4 medkits, but I am not sure it even slows them down. It SAYS it does, but I do not believe them.
