How would they abuse it? Using it to determine how the system works? Maybe you should only be able to see the change in your ratings every week?
I think some people will figure some things out even without the rating, but with or without rating nobody will know everything.
I wouldn't worry about it. People are highly delusional. There are some obvious secrets about Overwatch's mmr system that some people have figured out and those facts are generally regarded as conspiracy theories.
Even if people figured out 100% how to manipulate mmr here, nobody would believe them. So it is chill.

If it truly works as intended o.o
During the Test I still seemed to face sweaty survivors in red ranks, despite playing a Killer I've never played before *shrugs*
It might use a base mmr for new killers based on your average or something. Idk. I will test it with Nurse once the update drops as I struggle to even get a hook as her.
-
I have no idea about the patch history of flashlights, but they are definitely stupid. No doubt about that.

Sorry, I don't sweat.
At the risk of sounding like an arrogant #########, my skill floor is just naturally higher than most peoples.
Likewise, why should people be subjected to the agony of high MMR DBD? Do you want all of them to quit? We all know they'll never change it to be more fun and why else would you play a game, if not to have fun?
Well, then maybe start sweating and you should be able to handle the heat.

Same experience. I guess all the killer mains need to get to bed early for their nighty night.
-
This was very deep. I will contemplate the ramifications of this for years to come.
-
I have accidentally teabagged people before. Not in this game, but in Overwatch, sometimes it just comes out when I play my boi Hog. And everyone gets so sensitive when it was just an accident. Lol.
-
People have been crying about it before I even joined. What you talking bout?
-
I am not pathetic. I am an alpha Chad basement Bubba. I run the basement, bro.
-
If anything, it is underrated. People downplay it just because it was nerfed despite it more or less being one of the best survivor perks. Top 5, at least, probably top 3 given the nature of it relative to other perks.
-
It depends on what you mean by trolling, but generally I run into those "bully" squads when I play Pig. I usually tunnel whoever keeps sabotaging the hook and then they cry about it. Its weird, man.
-
That is typically how mmr works. The average of the 4 survivors will be whatever the killer is. So new players in a 3 man death squad are going to deal with a MUCH higher ranked killer than if they were playing solo. Albeit, with mmr, that wouldn't happen unless it was a 4 man swf.
-
It depended on your mmr. Sweaty killers? They didn't have too much fun. Everyone else? Great. Basically it just put all those sweaty survivors with the sweaty killers. It cleaned up the matchmaking for everyone else, as they indicated in their post, the biggest changes were mid to low ranks.
-
I am really happy, I thought the backlash would make them bend. I am so used to it coming from Overwatch. Glad these developers stick to their guns.

So... what type of things does the system account for?
You guys... this is getting irritating with the lack of detail and explanation in these systems. We can't give the best feedback if we don't know how something works.
They will not give specifics because they do not want people manipulating their mmr.
-
More like a wake up call for killer mains with egos.

You probably need a new headset.

I doubt it will ever stop. I mean, some people were HAPPY we are losing content and Hawkins is twice the map RPD will ever be, rofl.

I love Iri button + duration with spirit fury/enduring and fire up and brutal strength on Legion.
memey steam roll build :D
Man, that build sounds like so much fun to be honest. I kind of want to try it. I do not have Legion, but honestly, he would almost make it overkill. Lol. I might try it on Micheal or something because it would remind me of how durable he tends to be in the Halloween franchise. He is no Jason, but he is the best we got.

But then people complain about unbreakable when we use it.
And even more people complain about Decisive Strike and Dead Hard, despite that, survivors still use them, as they should. If someone has beef with your perks, there was never any hope for them to begin with, so why bother catering to them of all people?
-
You never know, but I wouldn't hold my breath, you will just be setting yourself up for disappointment.
-
I wouldn't say he is underrated per se. Most people know he is relatively strong, they are just comparing him to the top killers.

S Tier? She can’t hear footsteps and Iron Will is very common, so basically every game she’s facing invisible survivors while phasing. Scratch marks aren’t reliable enough to use her power vs an Iron Will user.
Players shouldn’t be required to have the hearing ability of a dolphin to play her at a normal level.
My hearing is bad, so honestly, she always plays like that for me and I never understood why everyone called her S tier. And then I remembered OTHER people didn't blow our their ear drums blasting death metal as kids. Silly me.

I feel like this would lead to very bad things.
Imagine a teammate picking you up... and carrying you into the basement.
Oh, how sweet of them, surely they are just taking us to the least expected spot so we can search that chest for a medkit. Right?
-
Deathslinger, he is literally the best duelist. And we all know people who play fighting games cannot deal with zoning. Clearly he is the GOAT.
-
She seems a little more gimmicky than other killers, but I really vibe with it. She is really fun to play while you are just chilling and not trying to 4k.
-
Oh, yeah, that would be cool. Especially if you could randomize it. Mix it up.
-
Tunneling is more annoying because I get removed from the game. At least when I am getting slugged, there is a CHANCE one of my teammates will help. Slim, but better than none.
-
Ghostface kind of wins because his default outfit is a paid cosmetic for whatever messed up reason. His other stuff is kind of cool compared to most of the killer cosmetics, imo. I usually only like one piece or outfit from each killer whereas he has quite a bit of drip.
Survivor is probably Feng Min. The bunny ears and new booty shorts alone make her queen.
-
Someone needs to run them for more than a few seconds, basically...
-
I do not even know why they get so triggered about it. I love cleansing bones. It is satisfying. But I am a Nancy one trick, so you know... I get rewarded for it.
-
Did they shift? Survivors still refuse to do totems to counter the build they hate that is super common.

How so? Ranked Matchmaking will fix this?
I just meant that SWF that are genuinely good would go up against the top killers, and SWF that are just chill homies would go up against chill killers. The issue work SWF 90% of the time is basically a killer complaining that they can't handle it. Which is probably true. And their matchmaking ratings will differ wildly if that is the case. Not all SWF are death squads, though. You know? They don't need addressing. The crazy high end is where they need to tweak balance, imo.
-
Drop unbreakable for Blastmine. Even if they wear Lightborn to counter half the build, it STILL stuns them. Rofl.

Yes. I hate how you've got to have precise perfect aim FOR MELEE as well as range in this game, or your hit won't ever connect. Survivors moves slightly to one side? Auto aim. Survivor spins? Aim dress. A survivor runs into your body? Can't see em.
I kind of like it, makes getting hits more satisfying.
-
Mmr will address SWF just fine.
-
Killers? Most of them. I obviously need shards to get all of them, but I play every licensed and ranged killer quite a bit on a rotation.
Survivors? Just Nancy.

good for you lol
It actually isn't good for me, its GREAT. The game got exponentially more fun once I submitted my soul to the order of Lightborn. I just wish they buffed it to where the person trying to blind me got blinded instead. You would lose out on all the free hits because they would realize you were wearing the perk instantly, but you have to admit, it would be worth it.
-
Probably killer, and not necessarily because the bugs are worse, so much as the nature of a 4v1 allowing for less wiggle room. If you get hit by one, it sets you back.
-
Honestly, I thought the game needed a bot mode, but if you just derank a little, you have something close enough. I am thinking about learning Blight down there once I get enough shards.

Trapper is also the poster boy and good at lower ranks. You know, where he doesn´t lose 4 gens by the time he set up half of his traps.
We already know around what ranks the devs balance. Don´t we?
I actually don't know which ranks they balance around. I mean, obviously not the top. Probably not the bottom. So, maybe 8 to 12?

completely agree, and the term toxic is subjective which people tend to forget but fl are not toxic, certain killers aren't toxic etc... it is the person playing them
If toxic is subjective, flashlights are toxic. Not the person using it. But I will punish them regardless.

I am not applying it's toxic to not give a free hook, you took it like that. That isn't my problem because that isn't what I meant at all.
Do not tell me I'm pulling 'the subjective card' when I am not. I play both sides so I understand it fully from both perspectives and I am not showing bias, once more you interpreted that in your own way.
Yeah, you don't understand where I was coming from and just instantly started yapping at me pretty much saying I have a survivor mentality, I'm not replying again. That's all I've to say on the matter.
Camping til stage 2 just to use the mori instantly is unfair and toxic in most cases to me, NOT ALL. So do not assume I'm being bias like you did before, cheers.
But why? You are saying a lot, but you have never actually given a reason. Why is it toxic? Like, it literally just sounds like someone doing a daily to me. Sucks to be the guy who was found first, I guess. But toxicity surely needs intent. If they were just doing it to be mean, sure. If they were just playing the game, though, you still see that as toxic. But why? I do not want to make any more assumptions, rofl.
-
@SweetTerror said:
Yeah I find the daily challenges to sometimes be a bit redundant. Most challenges should be obtained within one game, two at most. When you're given an objective that takes multiple games to obtain, it gets to be more tedious than anything. I like playing as Nemesis, but getting him up to tier 3 sometimes never happens without add-ons. The tentacle strike is almost not worth it given how small the hitbox is, coupled with the fact that infection doesn't injure.
I mean, if I am doing that daily, I whip only and knock out any nearby zombies. I can usually get it even in those games where 3 gens pop in the first minute. I mean, they all escape, lol. But I got progress on the daily which is all I care about as I ain't about to make it a 5 game challenge.
-
What perks make the game more interactive for you as a survivor? Just curious what kind of builds you would prefer to see.
-
@BabuDweet said:

See you're kind of assuming I have a survivor mentality when I equally play both sides. I can admit killers do this and it's unfair and survivors could still try and save too. So I don't really get where you're coming from in the sense of just assuming I had that mentality.
It is unfair, it is toxic TO ME. If not to you then good for you but that's that like.
No, it is not an assumption. You are literally implying it is somehow wrong to not give a free unhook, and instead of blaming survivors, who are the only party that can actively stop stage 2, you are saying the killer is toxic.
You are entitled to your opinion, but surely you can see that the logic isn't consistent and hiding behind the subjective card doesn't really justify it any more. No offense intended. I know it comes across as rude, but I get why you would think camping to stage 2 is a bit sus.
Maybe the context is the issue, I am thinking they come to unhook right as stage 2 starts REGARDLESS. But if they wait out most of stage 2 as well to crank out gens, then yes, I swing my mentality to the killer was being toxic. I guess the timing is relevant and perhaps that is where the difference of opinion comes from. I just do not see how survivors refusing to help their teammate and me noticing the bar is close to stage 2, so I go to defend, is "unfair" to you.

If you are considering the difficulty of them without factoring in farming, which makes most of them easy, i'd say plagues "Hit 2 survivors with 1 corrupt purge" to be quite difficult. I tried getting it without farming and i honestly never could, its very rare that 2 survivors put themself in such a bad situation that you can double shot them. Can't really even do it against unhooking survivors since it considers the I-frames of an unhooked survivor to not count as a hit.
I am new to Plague and thought it just meant the vomit. I awkwardly face camped someone to hit both on unhook and after the game realized it meant the blood puke. That is one I am never getting!
