For a while, I switched to the idea, suggested by Uncle Tru3ta1ent:
🎣
Go for hooks rather than kills
☝️
This makes the game fun for both sides. So this is my definition of win: between 4 and 12 hooks.
4 -- because of BBQ :D
Besides this, the killer queue times for me are really important. I don't want to waste my time waiting in the lobby. I've played and win or sometimes lose against descent survivors and I can't say I see a lot of potatoes in most of the matches. And hey, I am sure I've played against those people in my region already and survived as a killer!
So:
"Zion, hear me! It is true, what many of you have heard. The competent survivors have gathered an army and as I speak, that army is drawing nearer to our shack. Believe me when I say we have a difficult time ahead of us. But if we are to be prepared for it, we must first shed our fear of it. I stand here, before you now, truthfully unafraid...."
-- Hillbilly, The Captain of Nebuchadnezzar
That is the big flaw. Without toxic survivor mains hazing new killers, I am worried the queue times will increase and people will play the actual fun role.
-
I am just scared that the queues will be really long because everyone and their cat is going to be wanting to play as him because he isn't a tad dull.

“Chillest killers”? That’s typically survivor lingo for saying “this killer is easy to loop/bully, therefore they’re fun to face”. He needed buffs because he was in a much weaker state than a lot of the cast, fact. Maybe BHVR should have nerfed some add-ons but he definitely needed more power.
Maybe you’re encountering some players who are just savoring their power trip, but those players will probably be like that with any killer - not just Wraith.
Eh, I kind of enjoy hamming it up as Wraith. I usually do not BM too much as other killers. Plague is the one I go ballistic with. I just love vomiting on survivors. But I embrace Wraith as a nice outlit to vent my frustrstions out on survivors. Plague, I usually throw just to vomit on people... So the energy is kind of different.
-
The only time I would DC is if a hacker corrupts my lobby. So... No, not worth it. I am not some preschooler that needs a time out in the corner to behave. Lol.
-
It is strong, just as flashlights are strong. But why bring them when you can bring a medkit? That is the main problem, in my opinion.
-
All of the ones I never use. I could never pick one. I will tell you I think Monstrous Shrine is nowhere near the worst perk. The haters just don't Basement Bubba properly.
I only really use vision perks, slowdown perks, exposed perks, and screw your pallet perks besides Basement perks. If it doesn't work in one of those builds, it is garbage. Lowkey, high key, mid key, bro.

THANK YOU FOR SAYING IT RIGHT! But I mean we have gameplay of him outside the truck in "Sweet tour" my name sake in Twisted Metal Lost. So it's not unheard of, but yeah the truck is a big feature and we should bring it in with him. Maybe it can work like a map destroyer or something.
Heck, you can play as Sweet Tooth in Playstation All Stars. Albeit, I believe his truck is an ultimate. But most of the game he is just on foot with his machete and molotovs.

They don't have a choice if they want to farm. Killer is in control of the farm.

Unhooking someone deactivates D's after it's been activated. If it's not been activated it cant be deactivated. Activates after being unhooked. "Being unhooked" is unhooking self or someone else doing it.
Ah, yeah. Well, you can tell I am not a survivor main given I do not realize how this combo would work. Rofl. Honestly, I rarely even see deliverance and in cases where I do, they unhook themselves when I am already on someone else.

Who says you have to go search a chest for one? The majority of my killer games the survivors are bringing in at least 2 medkits. Sometimes it's up to 3-4 medkits and as killer that means I can never switch targets. You have to commit to every chase because otherwise they just heal up in 10 seconds and you can never spread any pressure.
I usually bring in franklins for 3+ medkits because they are so strong. To have someone saying they are dogshit is crazy. They are easily the best item behind keys; which is why I see them all the time.
If someone cannot already see why an extra health state is amazing, they probably never will.

Why should DS even activate when you unhook yourself. Doesn't make any sense
The description literally says unhooking someone disables DS. Like, at least update the description if you want unhooking to not disable DS.

Before the Resident Evil DLC I would only bring Lightborne if I saw a survivor had a flashlight. Now I usually bring it every time. Not only does it make the flashlights, Blast Mine and Flashbang pretty much useless it also it makes it easier to track down the survivors who use any of those for short time.
You still get stunned by blastmine, though. And flashbangs are pretty sus. I mean, I guess I am glad I have Lightborn when they use them, but I do not think it is worth running Lightborn for them specifically. Usually flashlight abusers love those perks, though, so Lightborn gets its value.
-
The problem is more that they barely punish cheaters which is why even fog whisperers tell you not to waste your time reporting them.

True but the game provide a lot of excuse for killer its a 4v1 and each survivor are able to 1v1 the killer. The majority of the map are survivor side so it does not help. My personal opinion is for a killer to win a match he need to outskill the survivor by a lot but for survivor they just need to have comm if they are less skill and they can beat almost any killer
All you need to do is look at the highest level and understand how that trickles down. Yes, at red rank, killers aren't struggling for a few hooks. But it is still not in their favor, and mmr will prove that quite easily once people get consistent matches. I digress, yeah, you are correct, most people with common sense would understand a 4v1 is in advantage of the majority unless the solo role is egregiously overtuned. But you know what they say about common sense, it is not very common.
-
It all depends. Take Ruin as the easiest example. If it stays up all game, you probably win. If it gets cleansed 30 seconds in and you refuse to tunnel, a team of the same skill that you just 4k'd will probably escape. In that regard, it "boosts" a killer who doesn't exert enough pressure.
But there are way too many circumstances. I just feel most people have tried ruin and you can easily tell the apples to apples difference when it is up or not.
-
I think you can fast vault from stationary if you are directly in front of it.
-
They feel entitled to a free escape because the game wasn't fair anymore. I honestly usually give it to them if they had escapes and don't hide for hatch. If they waste my time with a hatch stand off, they are going on a hook.

Actually i run it on billy also nurse but ive goten loads of snipes with billy thats early pressure especially if i see another survivor near and know where he is i can slug or hook thats half the team not on gens from the start
I genuinely prefer it to corrup intervention. I just want to get a down in like the first 30 seconds, lol.
-
Harder if you consistently want to 4k or escape. Otherwise, it is literally just going to be more chill for everyone.
-
They are VERY strong, but I agree that most flashlight clowns are boosted and could be a more efficient teammate. Denying a hook state when you have to hammer through 2 of them before you get a kill... If you are tunneling, is extremely powerful. If you aren't tunneling, all the health states you need to go through make it downright impossible unless the survivors are AWFUL. Luckily most of them are.

Yes, they have been collecting mmr data this entire time, not just during the tests.
And also that overheat is BRUTAL. No idea why that is a thing.

it is not just a perk for newbies. You can have a rough idea where survivors will spawn as you input enough hours, but this perk completely eliminates the guessing and gives you consistent results every time. You will always have a "map" of the survivors. For such an inconsistent and fast paced game, a consistency perk is very nice.
Sometimes the survivors actually spawn VERY close to you. Like, basically in TR range.
Not only that, but it can show you if you two are near the same gen so you can either isolate the individual, or pressure 2 survivors at once. As Ghostface, I prefer the solo because usually the other will run if only one saw me. But as someone like Nemesis, that is nearly a free tier 2.

No. The Perk is strong enough to take up a Perk Slot IMO.
Yeah, a few seconds of vision at the beginning is totally worthy of 25% of your build. The sad part is most perks are so dog that I am not even being sarcastic.

He caps at 8k deviousness ridiculously fast. That is probably where most of it is coming from as that is the major difference from killer to killer.

Heck, as a pallet demolitionist, you really can't ask for more. Like, seriously, it will never get better than Nemesis. Just pretend the pallet is a STARS operative and there you go!

Demogorgon is one of the most balanced killers in the game with a ton of unique gameplay elements. I wouldn't miss him, especially when he is only like 3 dollars. If anything just do it for the chase music. No regerts.

I just watched a video that said the average spirit(in her prime) chase time was about 36 seconds now the average chase time for a killer should be 40ish. I find that so unrealistic most the time if one of the most op broken killers can barely make the chase time ######### are your weaker killers suppose to do?
To be fair, chase time depends on a lot of factors. How many pallets did they use, what tiles spawned, were there body blocks. Blah blah blah. Ghostface sucks, but you can have games where you average chase time is below 10 seconds if you are constantly marked stabbing or pulling people off gens. Heck, I end chases fast just because he can get rid of red stain and trick the survivor who is probably better at looping than I am. He is still bad.

This community is so paranoid to change it's kinda crazy.
Sbmm is a good thing. Some bad players will use it as a scapegoat for their losses but overall it's really not going to have as big of an effect like some think.
So many people heavilly overestimating their abilities. The number of sweaty killer or swf is not going to increase. You're only going to face the top 5% if you are the top 5%.
And sorry to break it to some people but 95% of cases you are not part of it. You'll go against other average players.
That is some intense math you have there! In all seriousness, it is not going to just be the top 5% where this is an issue. It all trickles down. To what end, who knows? I guess we will find out.

A dev +community manager confirmed it isn't just based of deaths/kills/escapes.
My thoughts: it'll be based around emblem's/bp. If you do well in these areas and get a high amount of BP then you will go up in MMR. If you get good emblem's (especially the one about being downed) but not much bp you shall go up but only by a small amount.
Why?
Because then you can't sit in a corner, get hatch, and go up in MMR. They want this to be realistic. This is probably what they'll go for.
Ha ha ha... Imagine playing Nemesis and getting max deviousness and chase without ever hooking anyone and climbing in mmr. That would be kind of funny, but mostly really sad.

I get the whole noob stomping isn't fun but just imagine your in the upper echelons of dbd's skilled players and you have to face high quality players regardless of what build you want to explore. Imagine being locked into ruin undying on your killer because you played a couple of games with it and now are stuck with this build otherwise soak 5 loss games.
Tldr you better be willing to soak a lot of losses if you want to meme around and since that will derank you and screw you on rewards players will be more inclined to fight to keep there ranks playing killers and survivors builds that are cookie cutter strong meta builds. I saw what sbm did to lol and I see it happening to dbd. People say they want a skill intensive dbd game but when they realize the side effects and cost comes at a lack of diversity in characters and builds played, significantly more toxic environment where individuals turn on each other over losing then they start to realize maybe dbd is better as a casual fun party game.
Am I the only one who thinks pushing dbd to be more competitive and skill based might be bad for a game which is slow to update and a large rooster of characters who simply can't compete in the higher levels.
I do not want to say it, but perhaps that is part of their monetization strategy. Instead of constantly deranking, climbing, deranking, PC players will be encouraged to buy smurf accounts and console, I think would need to purchase the licensed killers again? No idea. But Overwatch basically has that as their main source of revenue. Lol. Maybe DBD wants some of that dank double dipping?
-
How is that toxic?
But yeah, I guess exposed effects on Wraith are particularly nasty. I can see it not being a fun game. Wraith matches never are for me.
-
It would probably be better to just add a beginner code that gives you 9k shards so you can just buy whoever you want when you start.
-
Sadly the higher ranked players will suffer, as the middle to low ranks have for so very long. Their sacrifice will forever be honored.
-
My browser cannot play the video, apparently. So... I guess I will take that written explanation with a side of fries, please.
-
I would just keep Lethal Pursuer on the main rotation. Hate when I spawn in the middle, choose the wrong side, and 3 gens fly by time I make it to the other side. Lol.
-
Or how about exchange my good add ons for map offerings instead, please?
-
Eh... After seeing what they did with Trickster, I think I will pass. They made him less fun, in my opinion.

Well someone's gotta play The Hellpriest. Even if it ends in many sheer losses, I will eventually have potatoes of my own to chain up.

I still don't think it's a good idea. It's one of the reasons why old Ruin was changed to what it is now- new survivors couldn't deal with the Ruin skill check. I think this is near the same difficulty and at the very least it would make games last too long for too little reward at that level.
And I don't think new killers are weak against new survivors. They're probably OP. Of course that switches after a ton of hours but that's besides the point.
Still, I can see this happening in the future. They put the mechanic in the game.. might as well utilize it somehow, even if at a slower speed.
It is a QTE, man. I know "skill" is in the name, but, like???
-
I like indoor maps outside of Lery's. Way too many vault to vault spots for my comfort. I always talk trash about Pyramid Head, but man, on that map? He is as strong as everyone makes him out to be. Lol.
I am mostly a killer main. So I guess bias even though I prefer those maps as survivor. Especially Lery's. The only map I can run a killer for a few gens instead of a few seconds.

Are you sure? Queue times for survivor for me are instant the entire day except late night. If anything we have too many killers.
Wish the daytime survivors were good enough to make people want to rage. Too bad they are free and you accidentally end up killing them when you intended to let everyone go because of how trash they are.
