The newer maps? Ormond, Yamaoka, the stranger things map? Yeah, no. The newer maps show the devs don't understand the biggest issue in the game right now: the maps.
What? The maps have gotten way better. Yamaoka is the only bad new map. Ormond, Hawkins, Gideons... all great.

End Game Collapse would be completely fine in it's current state if they balanced map exit spawns around the mechanic.
There are way too many instances of end game happening and the last survivor in the match loses instantly because both gates are in such a short distance they can be patrolled with little to no thought from the killer and the hatch is closed.
As solo survivor, your team can run around like headless chickens and die while you did nothing wrong. Meanwhile you're still punished because you joined a map where the exit gates spawn side by side to each other. As a killer, if the survivor gives up and states at me because they know they are dead no matter what, I just give them the gate. It's not really a multiplayer game at that point.
In addition to the dodgeball thing I should note that while some maps have close gates, others have gates that are so far apart the killer will never make it in time.

If you are playing dodgeball do you surrender just cause the other team lost all their players but one and all the balls happen to be on your side?

Nah. Just make it so maps don't have millions of safe pallets and then get rid of bloodlust.
OH MY GOD YES. Remove pallets and you can take my bloodlust. But sadly pallets will never be removed now because it would make Brutal Strength & Spirit Fury useless.

Break the pallet. (Killer main)

I'll have to watch a video with a survivor wearing them or wait till they are live. Last i remember seeing the were placed on the front side if not the sides of the survivors belts. Which would not be noticeable to a killer until they were maybe hooked.
But you may have a point and it might be more visible than i recall.
If you played the ptb or watched the ptb when a killer picks up a survivor the charms dangle right in the Killer's face. In fact Killer's see the charms better than the survivor's see their own charms due to the pick up animation.
-
Charms are the most appealing thing about the Rift. Charms and Lore. I've wanted to personalize my hooks forever. My only gripe is that they are too small on survivors.
-
I do agree on removing the terror radius however. Would make the game more fair for the killer and much more intense.
-
It's hard enough to get games as is. Splitting the base would only exacerbate the issue.
-
GhostFace mostly.
I'm All Ears, Sloppy Butcher, NOED, Deerstalker.
ButbI play everyone except Nurse and Spirit they are too hard to use. Nurse is impossible with a controller, and all these "sounds" streamers and other players can hear, I can't. So Spirit is unplayable.
But I have 4k games and 0k games. Everyday.

If you’re playing against Freddy you need to drop the pallet from at least a 32 meter radius.
I laughed.

All of the "stun" and blind abilities just feel like insults lol. Even it's not. When you get hit with a pallet, head on, decisive, flashlight blinded it feels like the survivor is calling you a punk a$$ b*tch. Lol

Three hours a day and posting on the games forum is not a casual player.
Maybe not by your definition. Is by mine.

So what is the concern exactly? We know they're active because they've been closing/moving posts recently. Unless there's a post that requires attention or is asking a question of them directly I don't see why they would respond other than just out of their own personal fun.
They used to. It's only recently they've distanced themselves.
The used to do weekly streams and have constant involvement on the forums, twitter, and reddit.
Ever since the third anniversary special they've grown increasingly quiet.
-
I answered none of the above. Because it changes depending on if there is an event going, how badly I'm getting looped, how badly I'm getting farmed ect...
It also depends on my goal that session. If I'm just chilling I don't really think in terms of losing or winning, I'm just playing. If I'm trying to rank up its if I pip or not.
But if got looped or stealthed for 2 or more gens as killer I just camp and consider even a single sacrifice a victory.
If I'm running Plunderer's it's if escaped with a new item.
If I brought a flashlight it's if I got a flashlight save.
If brought We'll Make It it's if I hook saved and healed others.
It's really dependent on all kinds of things.

3 hours a day is casual, yikes. I think you’re the one who doesn’t know what casual means.
I play from 6 to 9 every night after work and chores...
I consider myself a casual.

You mean that you can't go any lower than a safety pip if someone DCs, right?
Cause i don't want it to be like, for example, if someone DCs right as i'm about to hook them for the 3rd time, then get all Iridescent Emblems, but because someone DCs, i get a safety pip, then it'd be pretty unfair.
Yes. No lower than a safety.
-
I don't care about pleasing a fictional entity, ho can stay mad. I'll play as loose or tight as I please :-)

As long as I've been playing they haven't. patch 3.0.0 is a perfect example. Were half the perks were broken and bugged, but they never said a word on any of them, simply fixed it and moved on. They simply don't talk about major problems and just change it. Another example was the GhostFace nerfs on launch, where most of the community were begging BVHR too not nerf him, and they did it anyway.
Well that was all within the last 6 months (during my absence) like I said it used to be different. The Devs used to communicate with us. I've been playing since Nurse (who was the first DLC).
BHVR used to be WAY more open. Like I said, weekly streams from them talking about this stuff. They only seem to stream for new chapters now... sad.
-
@BunnyTheHutt said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/95819/rift-concerns-forgotten
BHVR never addresses concerns like this. If it's something small they do, but otherwise they simply change it or they don't when it hits live. Right now casual's can't complete the battle pass with the required time, but when it hits live they could reduce the grind so casual players can have a chance. We won't know till it hits live, and if they change nothing then don't buy the battle pass, speak with your wallet.
No disrespect meant by this but when did you start playing? Because when I was playing the Devs absolutely addressed issues with the community. They LITERALLY had a weekly live-stream discussing this kind of stuff.
-
@se05239 said:
What did you expect?
I don't know, back when I was playing originally the Devs talked to us. They even had weekly streams talking about the game and changes and concerns. I quit 6 months ago. I came back for the Rift but everything's changed the community is largely uncritical and hostile towards anyone with concerns about anything. The Devs seem to have ended all communication with the players.
It's not what it was.
-
@Well_Placed_HexTotem said:
Why should casual players be able to finish it?
Because the Devs said so... lol
I don't think you guys even know what casual means. You are likely a casual. How many hours a day do you play? If it's 3 or less then you are a casual. If it's more than 3 you likely don't have any responsibilities yet.

It might even be 1 hour. We dont know yet, because nobody tested the Rift. Some guy made a Youtube-Video, cool. Now we believe everything what is in the internet?
I am pretty sure, if only a really small group of people will complete the Rift, it might be changed. But other than that, the Rift is not designed to spend 1000 Auric Cells 1 time and have those 1000 Auric Cells for every other Rift that will be released. DBD is quite a cheap game, and you can play it without spending any more money, if you dont want to play certain Killers, since you can get every Perk in the Shrine and Survivors are only Skins. Sure they need some form of money income. And yes, there will be people who spend some money for the next Rift, maybe not 1000 Cells, but 500 Cells. Or they spend the Cells to unlock some Tiers.
Which is fine in my opinion, because once again - you dont have to spend any money if you dont like. But if you have some income and can spend some money, I would rather buy it than sweat for it in a game.
And yeah, it might be 100 hrs instead of 70 hrs. But it is not ON TOP of the challenges. You are doing both at the same time.
Have you even seen the challenges? Some of them are pure luck and others are downright toxic. You REALLY haven't looked into the Rift even a little if you actually believe the things you are saying. I was saying those same things before I saw it. The Rift was my entire reason for coming back to DBD.

Oh yeah, sorry. Just have checked it, you simply only complained like 6 times about the same topic without bringing any arguments by yourself. Sorry that I thought that you have actually contributed something in your other topics.
The Devs outright said it is for everyone. Just because you've been brainwashed into believing that "casual" is lesser or a dirty word doesn't make it reality. Casuals are the bread and butter of gaming. Any game where the casuals leave so does the money. "Hardcore" players aren't a large enough group to design for.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
Question is, does it really NEED to be fulfilled by everyone? It is 100% optional to spend money on the Rift Pass, you only get Cosmetics and nothing which will affect the gameplay.
You can buy the Rift Pass at anytime, so when you unlock many things on the free Track, you can decide later if you want to buy the Pass to get the Premium Rewards.
You are acting as if every Player should get the full Rift Pass (and 1000 Auric Cells back because of this) without having to put much effort in.
Strawman. Never said anything you said.

The trick is nerfing killers just a little bit once in a while to "make up" for all the survivor nerfs.
"See they nerf us too!!! totaly the same guys!! devs arent biased"
Survivors have had huge nerfs to gameplay over time now while killers have generally gotten smoother and better gameplay via good perks and bias.
MoM...
-
Because most normal people feel insulted when they are told how to do something they didn't ask to be told how to do.
How to drive, how to mow, how cook, are all things no one likes being told how to do.
Sometimes we need to be told better but it doesn't change our nature. It's natural to feel slighted.
-
I used to have a clip from Haddonfield where the was a Blendetts in the shrubs outside the Strode house and I just got a gut feeling and stabbed. Lol
-
Why do we even have ranks? It's meaningless. I've played this game for around 2 years (I did take a break for 6 months this year though) and honestly despite what some would have you believe I cannot tell the difference between ranks 15(ish) through 1. The only difference I've seen is from brand new fresh off the boat players. Anyone whose played more than 25 to 50 matches is generally on the same level with everyone else.
Some of us red rankers like to toot our horns but ranking has less to do with "skill" and more to do with how many hours a day you play.
-
On a more technical side. You have to anticipate the swing. You have to drop the pallet before they swing. If try to react you will get hit everytime because their swing animation will end before the drop animation which results in a hit.
-
Stick with safe drops, lol.
Unless you just really really want stun points. Safe drops are always better. And actually more annoying than stuns. Safe drops mean I HAVE TO deal that pallet. I LOVE greedy survivors who want stuns (because no joke between 75% and 80% of the time I trade you hit for stun.)
-
You don't.
-
Remember when they "nerfed" pallets. LOL
I remember them going he we removed 1 pallet. Pallets can't spawn within close proximity to each other.
I love how survivors cry over the insta heal nerf whenever nerfs that "favor" killers are things like this lol.
-
@S_Panda said:
Just survive and escape far as I know, but for the most part unless you just stealth/afk and hatch escape you should be double pipping in most matches that you survive.
I'm always at pip and a half with 2 gens and 2 unhooks as survivor?
Always double pip unless you "hide"? Lol, my pink a$$.
-
Do Survivor's need to double pip for Adept? Or did only Killers get "fixed" ?
-
Awww damn thx guys. I just came back after 6 months away. I have all the adept killers except for the 3 most recent ones (Plague/GhostFace/Demogorgon) I was used to the old way.
Lol "fixed" is right.

Well since I won't pay anymore money on DBD so I don't even care about their Archives/Rift. But tbh I feel a little sad cause I don't get to play with cosmetic like rich people.
Welcome to videogames in 2019. I'm old enough to remember when things like skins were unlocked through playing the game.
-
@Eleghost said:
So gonna just say that it has a free version. It is $10 for premium. a decent cosmetic in the in-game shop is $10. You also earn back your auric cells from the rift. You don't have to buy it to play the game. It is just that simple.
Doesn't matter. Both tracks are ridiculously hard and ludicrously grindy.
-
Nah, I find Killer extremely stressful. Sometimes it can seem like the Killer is OP if you are playing solo survivor (like I do) but if you calm down and actually look back you lost as a survivor because your team didn't do gens and unhooked people to soon. It's ok to sit on a gen for a bit before going for the unhook. Survivors have a LONG time on the hook.
-
It is accessible via playtime it's just really slow. 800xp (roughly) 12 minutes in game time gives ONE fragrment. You need TEN fragments for a single tier in the Rift. So 8000xp per tier.
It's bs.

I understand his argument.
I just don't see why the devs have to cater to people that rarely play their game. The whole reason this game is unbalanced is because of mindsets like this.
I play every day after work. Lol.
"Rarely" because I'm not some neet who lives on welfare and sits at home all day?

It's 4.2 thousand xp per player level past 50.
It's literally such a small amount lol.
8k xp for a single tier is not a "small" amount.
Lolololololol

@Aven_Fallen said:
Some of them are harder to do, some of them are pretty easy. E.g. I got the Hook 3 people in the Basement using Agitation Daily in my first game. And I would have easily been able to do that every time, so this is basically a free win, even with more Basement Hooks. However, other Challenges are harder (like all Dead in the Basement or to survive without being hooked while using Spine Chill for example). But I guess thats fine.
You progress through the Rift with your Devotion Level, so when you play on a consistent basis, you should be fine. The Archives give you a lot of BPs and will boost your progress.
However, some Challenges are quite unhealthy, this is correct. e.g. grabbing 4 Survivors, I would either need to play Prayer Beads Spirit for that (which I highly dislike) or farm with the Survivors (making the challenge obsolete). Same with some Survivor challenges - I would rather have teammates who do Gens than Teammates who hunt down Totems for their Challenge or loot chests for their Archives.
but, lets not forget - you get all your Auric Cells back if you complete the Rift. Logical that BHVR does not give that away for free. It would not be worth that much for them if everyone just pays 10 Euros one time, and will be fine for the rest of the game. Surely they speculate on players spending more Auric Cells to complete the Rift or to spend Auric Cells, because they did not get the 1000 Cells back. BHVR is a company, afterall.
Furthermore it is meant to be some form of a challenge. But this is the problem of the modern gaming community - games are so easy that it is expected in every game. "Oh you failed? Here, have 200 Level Ups to beat this boss!"... The Challenges should not be "Cleanse one Totem, get a Quadrillion BPs and complete the rift".
And last but not least - just try the Free Track and if you are satisfied with your progress at the end, buy the Rift Pass to get all the Premium Rewards. It is as easy as that.
"You progress through the Rift with your devotion level"
Lol. 1 Rift Fragment for 800xp. ONE. It take 10 for a single Rift tier lol.
-
I also wish you could toggle which killers and survivors you can get dailies for.
-
I wish when the daily screen came up it gave you a choice Killer or Survivor then assigned a daily after that.
