I can't see a character from FNAF actually working in this universe, but I want it because it would turn the forums into a battle field and I would love too see that.
As for Terminator, it would still work well. I would crap myself if I saw a t-800 bearing down on me. IDK what his power would be, but I could easily see a killer +survivor combo being made from Terminator movies. And just because a movie isn't horror doesn't mean it can't be used for a chapter.
The day a non horror franchise is used I'm out. The game is a love letter to horror movies. Sorry but anyone wanting non horror characters in DBD doesn't get it.
A non horror character coming in is sign the game is dead and is desperately trying to get non horror fans.
Putting a Terminator character in DBD would be bullshit.

Not gonna lie - I haven't seen anything yet that I would not be able to get in time.
Is there a complete listing anywhere?
If that's the case what is the point of this thread?

Adam sucks. No one likes him. He's ugly in design. His perks are trash, yes even Deliverance. He's just a boring survivor. I think he's everyone's least favorite. I never see any Adam players.

no lol. I dont want more sweaty guys in my games.
The Rift is going to make more sweaty guys though.
+Unhook 15 Survivors (enjoy getting farmed)
+Sacrifice 4 Survivors in the Basement (enjoy insidious camping)
+Go through 4 health states in a single game (enjoy everyone running medkits)
+Grab 4 Survivors (Enjoy Prayer Beads and Scratched Mirror)
+Sacrifice 2 Survivors during EGC with NOED (enjoy noed)
You haven't even looked into the challenges have you?
-
No way is it friendly to the average player. Ask yourself how often do you realistically get interrupts (grabs) on survivors? How often do you get 2 sacrifices during the End Game Collapse with NOED?
Those are just 2 challenges from the 3rd level. I hate to see what 4th level challenges are.
Also keep in mind each level is time gated. So the really difficult challenges cannot even be completed until near the end of the Rifts life cycle. Putting a serious time constraint on you.
Also are you ready to get farmed every match? Because a level 2 challenge is save FIFTEEN survivors from the hook.
I was so excited for the Rift. But its designed to guarantee that averagely skilled players cannot beat it in time.
Pls talk to us Behavior.
-
And whatever happened to the weekly dev streams? They used to keep in contact with us. A dev stream where we could talk about the difficulty of rift and such could go a long way. I just recently came back after a 6 month break to find that they no longer do weekly streams and are outright hiding from Rift discussion.
What happened? When did they sever contact with the players?
-
Survivor is CLAUDETTE because she's cute, has good cosmetics, receives frequent cosmetics, and she can be Blendette the ninja or Rainbowbrite the troll depending on your clothes. Plus she's one of the original 4. However I do play Ash and Steve to because I love Evil Dead and Stranger Things.
Killer: It was Trapper because he's the closest to Jason we have in DBD. And Jason is my favorite slasher. But Ghostface is my second favorite slasher so now that he is in the game I main Ghostface.
-
MEDIC: Self Care, Botany Knowledge, We'll Make It, Empathy
FUDGE YOU, YOU WON'T HOOK ME: Boil Over, Flip-Flop, Unbreakable, Deliverance
TEAM CAPTAIN: Prove Thyself, Leader, Borrowed Time, Aftercare
LORD OF THE DANCE: Windows of Opportunity, Dance With Me, Light Weight, Quick & Quiet
-
This video did change my mind. But in the opposite direction. I was excited. I even bought the auric cells already in anticipation. But this video exposed how hard and frustrating the challenges will be. They look intentionally designed to make sure you fail at finishing the Rift. This broke my heart.
Behavior please make the challenges reasonable for average players and not luck based stuff like "grab 4 survivors"

Gating off the later challenges is something I really don't like about this. Releasing it all at once would be so much better.
I imagine a lot of people are going to attempt the free track and only buy the premium pass if they make it far enough for the purchase to be worth it, so if the challenges are impossible for normal players to complete, normal players aren't going to buy the pass. At least, I really hope that'll be the case, because consumers speaking with their wallets is the only way change happens.
Ppl have no control though. Google "Fear of Missing Out".
It's a psychological tactic designed to make ppl buy things they wouldn't. Ppl will buy the pass because they see streamers do it. This thing is going to sell like hot cakes and no one will be able to finish it without spending more money to skip sections.

So lemme get this straight... you dislike the rift but you are fine with what we currently have in the store? Cosmetics in the store cost $10 a pop. The rift costs $10, has multiple cosmetics and charms, and if you complete it, you get your auric cells rebated. You also get extra bloodpoints and lore for completing the challenges.
So what exactly do you dislike about the rift? So many people just keep saying they don’t like it but don’t explain why.
Well I was all for it until Paulie Esther's video showed how hard the challenges are.
No one. Not one person is going to complete all 70 levels without paying extra to skip the grind. The challenges only award 3 to 5 rift pieces and it takes 10 rift pieces to advance one single level on the track. Combine that with challenges being insane like "interrupt (grab) 4 survivors" and "get 2 sacrifices during the end game collapse in a single trial". Combine those with 3rd and 4th level challenges beinv time gated off so that they can't even be attempted until near the end of the Rift's life cycle. It's pretty clear the design is intentional to prevent completion without spending more than 1k Auric Cells.
It's disheartening as the rift is why I came back. But id it's as impossible as it looks to complete I'll have to skip it.
-
No fix. But this is happening to me too. It's not after every game but randomly when trying to connect to a lobby it will say "disconnected from host" & "Nat type error" it will then lock in the connecting stage and I will have to force close the game and restart it to get back to the menu.
Also on Xbox One.
-
Pretty sure they are from completing tomes 2, 3, & 4.
The middle one looks like the fog whisperer icon though so they might be exclusive to fog whisperers.

I mean saying that The Terminator movies are not in the slightest scary would be a stretch. Why does everything have to fit extremely tightly to some made up guidelines which people think exist.
Sarah Connors story is that of a true Survivor.
Just because she's not a character from a proper horror movie doesn't make her incompatible or out of place in dbd at all.
It actually does. Dead by Daylight is about Horror Movies. The goal of the game was to have players feel like they are in a Horror Movie.

They require Money? Oh no!
Thanks for the info, i think your Knowledge is quite limited. Not only do i have a Little bit over 100 employes in my Company but i also value share- / Stakeholder equally. I do not only run a Company that generates profit via enhancing lifequality of People that have disabilities. But there is much more to getting Revenue and making profits than only offering your products/Services on the market. I don't know if you figured that out yet but there are just so many possibilites what you can do with the money such as buyin shares of other companies, you know the good ones?
But enough of that, thanks for your enlightening insight about economics and Business. BHVR is close to about 600 employees so if you think you Need to buy a rift pass because that is some small indie company, you are wrong. In 2008 they made close to 30 Million in Profit, they have around 200million players on mobile.
Should a company do everything for Money? Absolutely not and that is why i am so concerned about f2p in paid games. On a sidenote, i have several living places and not all in just one country.
It doesn't matter one bit if their other products make money. If DBD doesn't make money then they'll stop making new content.
It's not hard concept to grasp. If your company had 2 products but one wasn't bringing in money, you'd drop it or it could sink your other product.
30 million is not a lot of money for Game Studio.

I have not, no. I don't play games that have them. As I said, I know it sounds like a dumb question, I just wanted to be 100% sure before I spend money on anything. I hope that's understandable and I don't just sound like a total moron.
Nah, it's just these passes are in EVERY online game now. It's shocking to meet someone who has never seen one.
-
Have you never seen a pass system before? You get the stuff on free track yes.
-
Why? Terminator isn't horror. If you'd have said Ellen Ripley from Alien or even Dutch from Predator it would be more realistic.
If it's a license it will be Pennywise most likely. But, the next chapter is probably an original chapter.
However there are still tons of horror icons to pull from.
+Hellraiser (Pinhead & Kirstie)
+Friday the 13th (Jason & Tommy)
+31 (Doomhead)
+3 From Hell (Spaulding/Otis/Baby)
+Candyman (Candyman)
+Universal Monsters (Dracula/Frankenstein/Wolfman)
+American Psycho (Patrick Bateman)
+Psycho/Bates Motel (Norman/Norma)
+The Purge (Any Random Purge Participant)
+Resident Evil (Nemesis & Jill Valentine)
+Five Night's at Freddy's
And of course they can do original content forever.

I like this game for the most part, though I do have to take regular breaks from it.
I feel like it has some serious identity issues. It's part survival horror (low rank play), part high speed twitch PvP (high rank play), part old school RPG (progression systems). I don't feel like any of those parts actually get along with any of the other parts.
If this is supposed to be a fast-paced, skill-based game, then the whole notion of gatekeeping through long grinds is out of place. If this is supposed to be a survival horror, constant high speed chases and killer-bullying should not be a thing.
When I read forums or guides, it's common to see experienced survivors laughing at "immersed" newbie survivors for being too scared of the killer, always sneaking and hiding, etc. That makes me sad, because I feel like the game's competitive aspect often overwhelms its survival horror aspect.
But I still like it and I still play it on a semi-regular basis, and I will probably continue to do so for the foreseeable future. It's not perfect, but it is unique.
This is probably the best description I've ever heard for Dead by Daylight.
It really is trying to be 2 completely different games at once. It's either a multiplayer survival horror or a skill based asymmetrical game... both clash with each other. And the players get at each other's throats often because they view the game differently. Immersed players annoy try hards and try hards annoy immersed players...

Things I like.
+Cosmetics
+Events
+Licensed Chapters
+Original Chapters
+Music (especially the seasonal ones)
+Lore
+The Rift and Archive that are coming
+The Devs and Community Managers/Mods
+The Tile Changing Maps (like Badham)
Things I don't like.
-How little the survivor's charms are
-The End Game Collapse (I miss goofing off)
-The tedious nature of the Bloodweb and how many hours it takes to progress in it

Are you going to work for free? If not, don't expect Behavior to. If yes, then enjoy being homeless.

Enlighten me, i can't wait
Businesses require money to keep going. Not really hard to grasp. What happens if you stop paying your electric bill? Well the same thing happens to the folks at Behavior if they can't pay their bills or buy groceries.
If you want Dead by Daylight to keep being developed you need developers. And developers need money to live.
-
I kind of want to go back before End Game Collapse was a thing. I thought I wanted EGC but I actually miss goofing around with the gates open.

I dont like it, after you prestige a survivor it takes more than 50 levels to get the perks you want to use, also you start your first levels with garbage like Small Game, We ´ll Make It, the Adam Francis pebble perk, Streetwize, Autodidact, Alert, Slippery Meat.
TY. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks the bloodweb sucks and is too limiting for fresh characters.
-
Charms are exclusive. Skins aren't.
The only way to get charms is by completing tiers on the rift and tomes in the archive.
-
Reward? As in escaping?
Because unless you pulled your weight escaping isn't a reward. The reward is Bloodpoints if you got less than 10k you lost. Period.
The scaredy cats who hide after being hooked never break 10k.
-
But what if I like scams?
-
@SinfulHarlot said:
Then everyone would get the go to perks. The system as it is kinda forces you to try things you wouldn't want and it gave me some underdog favs. I can see were you're coming with the Killer aspect, since they're more perk reliant, but I like the grind. @Theoretical_Heart
So your argument is basically ppl shouldn't be allowed to play with the good perks.
-
@SinfulHarlot said:
@Theoretical_Heart If you weren't trying to get all the impactful perks you wanted and basically playing all the killers at the same time, the task of getting what you wanted wouldn't seem so unreasonable. So to answer your question both.
Or you know let us actually pick the perk we want at each level. Seems more reasonable to me than "here is 2-4 garbage perks pick one"
The only possible argument against that would be "NO. I want players to be FORCED to sit through web after web of garbage perks before they can have a decent build."
You are unreasonably invested in forcing players to spend hundreds of hours grinding for perks even you wouldn't use and you know it. When is the last time you ran Beast of Prey or Deja Vu or Lightborn by choice?
-
@FireHazard said:
I hope the way this new one is structured a bit differently...
Because suiciding on hooks because your vial was complete as a Survivor wasn't the most... fun experience to play with, and against...
The serum is in the rift this year. You don't get it by doing gens/hooks anymore. You get it for advancing on the free track of the rift.
-
@SinfulHarlot said:
@Theoretical_Heart Kinda hard to feel bad when you're spreading yourself so thin. Different strokes, I guess.
You first imply I'm a try hard for "meta perks" simply because I want useable perks that have an actual impact. Now I'm spreading myself to thin by not playing one killer? Which is it? Am I a meta perk try hard for wanting decent perks? or am I "spreading myself to thin" by actually wanting to play the characters I bought?
-
@SinfulHarlot said:
Why do you need to have everything done so quick? Enjoy the journey and stop rushing for meta perks. @Theoretical_Heart
Done so quick? Lol.
I play every killer except nurse and spirit. And it's hard to enjoy the journey with garbage perks like Territorial and such cluttering the web.
-
@xxplayerjuanxx said:
Im annoyed by the amount of offerings I have. I wish there was a system where I can sell a offering for a small return in blood points back. It could be 5% of the original cost.
So many useless reagents and heart lockets...
-
According to the poll taken yesterday it was 70/30 split with 70 being pro Rift and Premium Pass.
So it looks like the complaints really are just a vocal minority.
-
I don't even know why rank exists.
It would be easier to just put everyone except beginners in the same pool.
Best way to do it is have a player's first 25 matches pair them with other's who are still on their first 25.
-
Myers is like 4th or 5th best at most. He's by no means p2w. I honestly can't tell if this is a troll or not.
-
Here is how I'd fix the system.
Instead of having perks in the bloodweb itself how about everytime you complete a blood web you get to pick a perk from the entire library instead of random perks. So you can actually get what you want.
-
So apparently I'm not the only one who thinks the grind is still unbearable. At least I'm not crazy.
-
I feel like if it's a dlc perk and you bought the dlc the perk should already be unlocked.
I fully understand that I may just be entitled. I am a millennial and sometimes I catch myself acting entitled. It's a real character flaw. If I am being whiny I'm sorry.
-
I just came back to the game after 6 months away. I'm playing on a new account from the ground up.
I can tell you the grind hasn't changed much from my perspective. I haven't hit 50 yet on a character so if there is some change at 50 I haven't seen that. But getting to 50 is still a chore.
Try a new account and see for yourself.
-
I just don't get it.
I have a serious question for all of you who are booty blasted over the Rift.
Do you guys buy every single cosmetic? Even cosmetics for characters you don't like/play/own? What about cosmetics that you just don't like do you buy them if you see another player using them?
If not then how is the Rift any different? Like, seriously do you have no self control and just buy everything single thing in the game? I know I don't. I cannot play Nurse or Spirit at all so I just don't buy stuff for them. If you don't like what is in the Rift the just don't buy it.
Plus the Archive challenges give you butt loads off bloodpoints at no extra cost. Do you not like extra bp?
For me 10 bucks is a steal for the premium pass. The only thing in the premium Rift I won't get use out of is the Nurse outfit since I'm terrible as her. One outfit costs 10 bucks. 10 bucks for the premium pass is more than fair.
I hope Behavior hears that most of us think they knocked it out of the park.
-
Thx
-
Nurse just got a nerf (something survivors have been BEGGING for, for 3 years now) I think that is a fair trade for Insta Heal.
Besides how would you nerf moris? In fact most good killers don't use them. Using a mori cheats you out of Bloodpoints. I only use moris when it's for a daily or when a new killer is released to see how they look.
And aren't moris tied to an achievement? How would you "nerf" the mori without making the achievement impossible to achieve?
Just some thoughts off the top. Also be REALLY honest how many times a week do you get mori'd if it's more than once or twice I'd be surprised.
-
The serum is in the rift this year guys.
The rift sticks around for like 60 days. So unless they remove the serum from the rift after the withered blight you will have like 60 days to get it. The bloodhunt and menu are all that leaves with the blight I'd assume.
-
Since serum/nectar is found in the rift this year does that mean we can collect it until the next rift? Or will serum/nectar be removed from the rift after the Withered Blight ends?
-
2 weeks was way too long. Most of us had all our serum by day 2 or 3 last year. 1 week is plenty of time. Plus the serum is in the free track of the Rift so you'll have until the next rift opens to get all your serum.
-
We have spooky flashlights and spooky lunchpails... when do we get them spooky toolboxes?
-

I do too. But I picked one (Charms) as it's the #1. But 3.3.0 looks really good.

Will will see any licensed Charms btw? Like a Ghostface Mask or Freddy Glove or a Necronomicon?
Regardless, the charms are so cool I wanted to give a huge thank you for coming up with them!
