  • This game started on pc and they never would've expected it to get big enough to make it to console is the truth, I don't think any of the devs could've imagined the game would branch out and grow this much, if only some of you on console could've saw what ridiculous things we had to put up with at the beginning of this games life cycle

No suciding is a scummy move no matter the circumstance. But you still havent explained why escaping means so much? You havent addressed the boredom that comes with m1 gening either.

Survivor is enjoyable to me for one reason. The chase. I will sit close by on a gen if it gets a killers attention but again you looping the killer for a prolonged period and expecting all surviors to end the game in that time period is just sending us all back to the queue. What did the other survivors get out of the game.

Oh yes an experiemce of DOING SKILL CHECKS yes that's what we all want right? You dont get this is not what a lot of people want from dbd they want the back and forth of the chase.

While I can agree doing gens isn't the most fun thing, I don't mind people doing the other stuff you mentioned you can absolutely trade chases and do some other things you might consider fun , but there's a right time for that and you can escape AND have fun if you pick the right time to do it , I don't mind the back forth chases or whatever it is as long as whoever trades off gets a gen done so it's not a total waste , to me being a skilled survivor means you can have fun doing all that stuff but still win the game because it was done correctly and benefitted the team in the process

Sounds pretty good until you actually want to vault but just make noise instead

That's what I was just thinking lol imagine being chased and deception recovers from the cooldown only to take your vault away and get you smacked down.

  • Believe it or not I was flamed for running Camaraderie once, I was getting camped and when I hit second stage my friend got nearby to pause the timer and the last two gens popped , I was then farmed and had adrenaline on standby , The killer proceeded to tell me how bad I was at the game for using that "Crutch perk" and then says he hopes I get hit by a greyhound bus and picked apart by vultures......

  • @[Deleted User] said:

My main killers are Nurse and Oni. You can guess for quite some time I haven't had problems with gen speeds. Not even using Pop or Ruin+Undying gens go slower than when I slug.

I rarely 4 man slug at 5 gens though, unless I go against an annoying team that wants my attention or against keys/OoO.

If I can I'll go for a 4 man slug at five gens even though it's kind of a dick move on my part, but I do it so that if someone has unbreakable they'll be forced to use it early in the match and it won't come back to bite later.

A good swf team shouldn't be required to beat a killer bot.

That's not what I was saying but thats ok we can agree to disagree on this one, I'm rank 1 on both sides devotion 33 but I guess I have no idea what I'm talking about

  • @Sluzzy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1892394#Comment_1892394

Are you saying that on average killer players are just simply better at the game? A killer bot wins most games, why can't survivor bots? I think its unfair that more is expected from survivors in order to win.

Survivor is literally EZ mode when you have a good team , the problem is that alot of people are terrible at the game.

  • @Zarathos said:

See I get that you the person being chased want some vindication for all the time spent in chase. But a lot of people want a game and holding m1 on a gen is dull as staring at dry paint. Some survivors want to go for flashlight saves and head on's because its fun shocking right. Imagine playing dbd and looking to have fun as survivor. Let me pebble, let me mess around with chest hunting. I never got the fascination with escapes equal victory logic. If you loop the killer for 5 mins pat yourself on the back you don't need the vindication of everyone doing all the gen's.

So dying every match because nobody does anything is fun to you? I get wanting to have fun in a game but dying because other survivors is not fun at all to the people who actually want to win and can do all those things at the right time and still survive , there's a time and place for everything in this game , you can play however you want because I didn't buy your game and can't tell you what to do but this is a big problem with this game and it's why solo q is so terrible, some guy trolls the killer with all that ######### and then suicides on the first hook because "ItS FuN"

What times are you guys playing? I'll dodge a lobby that has a key holder and an obvious swf, wait 5 minutes, and que right back into them.

From 5am-8am and from 7pm-11pm eastern time zone US, when I get dodged another killer immediately joins I'm rank 1 both sides, Do you have crossplay turned on?

  • @Sluzzy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1892301#Comment_1892301

I don't think the majority is purposely playing to lose. The reality is that killer is way too easy to do their objective while the survivor is too hard because of killer perks that are too game changing that simply hand the game over for having them equipped. Survivors need a lot of buffs, killers get too many 3 and 4ks by watching their perks win their game.

I disagree, survivors lose their matches because they're bots and make decisions that make me question how they even tie their damn shoes in the morning

If everyone separates and does gens the survivors have a extremely good chance at surviving the match.

  • I personally see camping when the game is out of reach already, though there are times where the killer just camps for no rhyme or reason I can think of so I guess sometimes it's just for LOLs like a Basement build on Bubba

    Hey. Cleansing totems is important.

Lots of games you should have won are lost to NoEd.

Totems are important but only after a couple of gens have already popped, I had a group I used to play with that would have at least two of the guys doing totems the whole damn time, I would run the killer for a few minutes and when I go down hear "I got my second totem" and the other guy would say he had two also, so maybe one gen done if the third guy is actually doing them, I swear I want to just DC and not even bother, why take the killer on a huge chase if no gens are gonna get done? I might as well let him get me so he can go after a damn totem hunter so at least when I get off the hook more than one person will be on a gen and we actually have a chance at surviving, if you have more than one survivor focusing totems at the beginning over gens you might as well just hand the killer the game on a silver platter because once people start getting hooked and no gens are popping it's a wrap against a good killer who can take advantage of that pressure.

Anyone else thinks it takes too long sometimes to find a match? This is just a thought I had, but what about like a skirmish mode while you wait for a match like in Overwatch? You can run around the map and do whatever. Idk, just an idea.

I think it depends on the time of day , I would be ok for something like this but I feel the devs are banking on the new matchmaking fixing that issue

  • @Dwigtht said:

Dodge the lobby! Let them wait for another 10 minutes!

Lol yea that would've worked like two years ago before when they got kicked back to invite but now the survivors stay in the game lobby and another killer appears in seconds

  • @Marigoria said:

I have to agree. A lot of changes they make just show how out of touch with the community they are.

Billy change? He was fine, no one asked for it.

Pop change? No one was complaining about it either.

UI change? It was fine. no one asked for.

New animations? They could have been improved sure... but what the hell are these new ones?

What I don't understand is instead of fixing what needs to be fixed they actually took time to make new animations for everything that was working just fine beforehand

  • @HellDescent said:

There's a difference between trying and actively playing. Killer is easier and survivor is harder in lower ranks. Then in high ranks it becomes the complete opposite. Survivors will not waste resources anymore, know tiles and totem spots etc. Meanwhile killer has to rely on survivors making mistakes in order to catch them

While I agree with the statement when you have those teams, I'm gonna have to say you have too much faith in the ranking system I personally think even red ranks have just as many bad players they just play more often.

  • Noed doesn't even activate against good survivors, I'd actually say it needs to have the hex factor removed and be on a 120 second timer just like Hope , so yea I'm saying it even though I never use it buff Noed lol as ridiculous as that sounds the reason you don't see it at high ranks is because nobody wants a perk slot to potentially go to waste and most of the good killers don't use it anyway because they can end the game faster and again waste a perk slot , so if you kill them too fast it's a wasted slot and if theyre good survivors they do the totems and it's a wasted slot.

  • Well seeing how the score looks it seems as if you focused one survivor majority of the match , one survivor only has 7,000 points on a match that 3 escaped, post a video so we can make a fair judgement please.

So again, I ask, is that the whole argument? That it is ranged?

It's ranged but mostly a problem when coupled with infantry belt, I wouldn't mind it so much if it were just limited to the one hatchet but being able to carry 3 instadown in your back pocket is garbage

  • @EvanSnowWolf said:

Is that the WHOLE argument then? That's all you guys got? "It's ranged"?

Because mechanically it is no different than Billy charging the map and sawing you in half, and that's free.

It's totally different because Billy is actually charging at you and not throwing his revved chainsaw half way across the map , name one other killer that has a ranged instadown

  • When I can run discordance and throw a hail mary hatchet and get a lucky one shot on someone off a guess that's garbage , I will say with the Mori nerf it's not as strong as it used to be but having a ranged throw being a one shot is broken on good killers and every other killer with a one shot isn't ranged they have to be on you to use it , there's quite a big difference there.

Did you read the post? The survivor is hitting them with the gun not shooting them.

Oh my mistake, I scanned it too quick I guess I should double check next time before I post!

  • @QwQw said:

Alright, not sure how balanced this would be but here goes.

    RUSTY SHOTGUN (Iridescent Item)

A broken and rusty shotgun. a bloody handprint is smeared on it's right side. With no bullets in sight, and a damaged camber, the only option is to use it as an improvised weapon.

When standing within 1 meter of the killer, press the active ability button to wing the Rusty Shotgun and stun them for 1 second. If the killer is carrying another survivor, they will not drop them.

Upon being used, the Rusty Shotgun will break and will no longer be usable.

Why wouldn't they drop them? You telling me a pallet, light, or locker door can make them put someone down but a shotgun blast from 1m can't? Lol come on man!

  • A 2x4 that can be used to rescue another survivor from the killers grasp, the item will be destroyed after 1 use

  • @dspaceman20 said:

So interesting whats his killer power?

When stunned with a pallet his power "Life Alert" activates! All survivors within 24m are snatched from the ground by the entity and are put in the dying state rendering even unbreakable useless.

"Help! I've fallen, but nobody ######### cares!"

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Without Ruin or Pop active Tinkerer basically tells you a gen is about to go, nothing else. On killers without mobility it's worthless and it's hard countered by Spine Chill and OoO.

"Imagine a perk for survs that show the aura of the killer if he moves in the direction of the surv 24 secs before he arrives". That's OoO for you, killers have been dealing with it for almost 4 years now.

Lmao I was just about to type the same thing, this dude acted like OoO wasn't already a perk I'm dead! ☠️

  • As a parent to a disabled child I would really hope that's not true, if it is I have a completely different view of him and this company as a whole. It's disgusting to make fun of people who can't help the way they were born.

  • When killers stop tunneling when they see no obsession in the match is when we can talk about a DS nerf, it's not OP unless unbreakable is combined and when you look at how games go with no obsession it's no wonder DS is still strong, though as a killer player myself with a little over half my hours being in the killer side I understand the frustration of being hit with it by someone who's taunting you immediately off the hook and you aren't tunneling, it's honestly poor design on both sides of the coin in that aspect

I feel if it were reworked it should still work the same way but make it to where if the killer isn't within a certain radius of the unhooked survivor ds won't activate and for 20 seconds after the unhook if the killer comes within a 16m range of the recently unhooked survivor the timer of DS will start for 45 seconds but if they don't come back within 16m after 20 seconds the perk is inactive until the next unhook, also make the perk inactive if you run within a certain range of a hooked survivor so you can't use it as an invincibility unhook when coupling DS and unbreakable, also once healed the perk should be inactive so you don't have full health plus DS.

  • @NotACompPlayer said:

I'm a legacy 2 nurse main and I use it. When I was on pc, I didn't use it because I had no need to, but now I'm on ps4, and my blinks lag without it, so I'm kinda forced to use it. Not all good nurses play without shadowborn.

No not all good nurses play without it but the best ones do !

Hmmm.... not really sure. Not often enough to be great with her, but I get 4k often enough to be happy playing her. :)

I was just curious because I'm sure being a dev you've also tested ideas for reworks with her at some point even if you don't play as her alot , is there anything they've tried with the nurse in the past we've never seen before that you could share with us?

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

I would love it if Old Freddy came back, I just want to play him again :(

You would probably change your mind pretty quick with some of the perks we have now, imagine a squad with desperate measures, wglf , and soul guard , they could just keep picking each other up to full health before you can even put someone else to sleep and stop it and even if you did manage to re sleep the recently downed survivor they would just start the chase over and you wouldn't be able to sleep the healthy survivors fast enough to injure them and trade out

  • I would be ok with it, but I doubt the devs would be ok with someone doing that and showing them up in a matter a of weeks after it was released , it would just get turned into another way for people to ######### on the devs is the main reason I would see it never happening.

  • @9andal said:

Old hilbily.. I actually don't think the rework was needed.

I second this , the old billy was in my opinion the prime example of how a killer should be balanced in this game, the only thing that needed worked out was the insta saw add on combo

  • @Almo said:

Plaid Flannel taught me exactly how Nurse's blinks work. Max range, how it delays going through walls, etc. Personally, I recommend trying it.

How often do you play as nurse?

  • I may get scoffed at for suggesting this but I also wouldn't use shadowborn if you currently are or add ons until you master the nurse at her base level, some people become so reliant on recharge add ons or add ons like pocketwatch that they feel they can't use the nurse unless they have them, same goes for shadowborn people being so used to the FOV being wide on nurse and huntress so much that they can't take it out of their build without being handicapped and that's the last thing you want is to have to backtrack and teach yourself to live without the crutch when you could've started that way.

  • It's not only killer mains it's survivors as well, people are just tired of the same bullshit with this game and with the way bugs have been, crappy "events" if you can even call them that , it's no wonder people are starting to leave hell I've been a loyal player for years now, everyday before and after work and for a big amount of time when I was on disability for an injury not working I was always on this game and even I've just kind of dropped it as of recently only playing a couple times in the past week, BHVR had better start focusing on something other than a cash grab all the time if they want to keep this game going, one day they'll reach out and have a big pile of crap in their hand and no money because everyone will eventually leave if this continues.

  • @Clevite said:

You don't lose points if you are in a chase.

This is correct you only lose points if no survivors are within 16m and you camp within 16m and don't leave after 10-15 sec, more than likely the Op probably ended the match early and not enough happened to give a good score on emblems

  • @Righi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1878559#Comment_1878559

How do you say so? This doesn't apply quite to me . Let's say I am Rank between 2 and 4 and I achieve at my worst 1 iridescent, 1 gold and 2 silver, that means 11 points which is 1 point left to pip up. For example,

    • if I die and last and survive long enough is silver (2 points);
    • if I do almost the equivalent of two generators and maybe one dull totem is gold (3 points) though almost to be iridescent - that happens quite often;
    • but if I do a lot of gens probably I miss the killer, unless I am aggressive and choose to be chased I need to be good to evade or with lost chases I lose points as well. So if I am 'actually bad', at my best it's a silver (2 points). Also here your teammates must be very good to see when it's the moment to rush into gens, so that I can earn some diversion points, although I think they are quite a few
    • unhooking and healing is the easiest parts even if your mates unhook unsafely but you can heal to make up for the loss. So I give iridescent, 4 points granted.

This is a total of 11 points, which is not enough to pip between rank 2 or 4. Therefore I don't think that I can actually be bad and rank up and do a bit of everything. I need to know also how to engage with the killer, how to tire it out.

You can throw all the numbers out you want but all the potatoes at red ranks are evidence enough to show I'm right , anyone who has played this game for a while can tell you ranking up is way too easy as a survivor and it always has been , there was only one point in this game when they made more difficult and survivors cried and got it changed back within 2 weeks because they said it was too hard to rank up , but in reality it was working just fine and not everyone belongs at red ranks in the current matchmaking

  • What's funny is in the PTB spine chill has been nerfed with it always staying lit up and only knowing about the effect while on an objective, so they nerfed the Dollar General version of Object and ignored the elephant in the room, Classic BHVR right there folks.

  • This game is so broken you can actually be bad at the game and still rank up, the worst part about solo is teammates dc or making dumb plays and it sucks that you sometimes have to pay for someone else's mistake but it's not all the time and ranking up is so easy it's more about how much you play over how good you do just because if you do a little bit of everything in a match you pip up even if it was a terrible game and you all die

  • This is why DS is perfectly fine, because the moment there is a game with no obsession this is what type of match it turns into

I think using shroud here was a mistake ... I am not sure tho, I am not veteran

Never use that shroud , if survivors start separate on gens they're way stronger

  • They brought a murky reagent lol

  • I don't think killer is that bad, ques have always been up and down in this game though I will agree there are a few killers I think need a buff . I've played since release and back then it was 1000x more stressful than it could ever possibly be at this point , I remember playing the trapper and all my traps getting Sabo staying gone and then to top it off all the hooks sabo too and all you would have is the basement hooks , hence why people started running iron grasp and agitation together , and don't even get me started about recovering exhaustion while running and the double pallet jungle gyms , lmao and for survivors the actual "face camp" where the survivors couldn't unhook when you stood in front of the hook because they hadn't added swivel hooks so you got no prompt to unhook

I'm just giving you an honest opinion / reasoning from the perspective of an experienced Survivor. I am a friendly and respectful person but yes, when I play PvP video games, I am probably not the nicest player to face. If you can't handle that, maybe you shouldn't play online games. I don't flame people or insult them but when I notice I am more skilled than my opponent, I don't refrain from using that to my advantage / entertainment.

I wish more people understood this!! It's not real life and there's nothing wrong with having fun in a game because they absolutely hold the power to reverse the situation on you and you end up in that same boat, but instead of improving they come to this site and cry about how unfair it is that the other side can spam ctrl in their face when they lose.

This is the ######### i mean, the community can't be saved i accept that. So if you're going to embrace toxicity why can't it be immersive? Why most this game remain a complete joke and then have the ######### AUDACITY to say JokeFace cant be added because it would break immersion. Good teams deal with that though. Tactics factor in to the outcome just as much as skill. Easiest way to throw a game in a tournament is to try and 12 hook. You can say camping/tunneling is braindead, but playing super aggro is equally dumb against a high level team if the ultimate goal is a 4k.

I agree with you , I just don't like watching that playstyle to be honest

  • They don't have to stay in any game longer than they want to, if it's a total ######### show in the match they may just be getting a few struggle points before calling it quits , if none of my teammates can provide even a 15 second chase I'm out of there I don't care who gets mad I'm not gonna play a game where holding W to a safety zone is too hard for some people to grasp

1 … 42 43 44 45 46 … 60
