To be fair OP has a point.

The hide in lockers was a mechanic against the Doctor. It was part of the design. Now it's removed because....?

    Makes little sense.

It is not "removed", the killer got a perk to counter it, just like survivor got Calm Spirit buffed.

Calm Spirit counters the mechanic of the Doctor, so this is only fair.

But barely anyone takes calm spirit because its useless against most killers

Meanwhile most Docs are gonna want this.

So a counter on survivor side is garbage?
But a counter on killer side is overpowered?
    Ok, totally Gotcha.

    doublestandards

Why do you get in a mood everytime I take survivor side?

I'm not fussed because I think Doc is a weak killer. However it's bizarre that the mechanics of him (in his radius your madness increases, but you can hide in lockers to counter it) has now been removed. It's a very strange design decision.

From day 1 everyone has assumed this will be a popular perk for Doctors because it makes sense.

Calm spirit isn't a popular perk for survivors because its only really useful against the Doc (no clown doesn't count).

If this was a discussion about using Iron Will to counter spirit then I would agree with you, because that perk counters spirit and nurse - two very strong killers - but its also incredibly useful against any killer so its common to take.

Nobody is going to be taking calm spirit ubless they know they're going against the Doc....which doesn't happen.

I just find it a strange design choice. You design a killer with a counter to their mechanic and then allow the killer to completely negate that. That's not how videogamed are designed.

The perk helps huntress but it doesn't avoid the fact that her weakness is still needing to go reload at lockers in the first place.
  • Lack of punishment for disconnects = neccesary evil

Honestly I get into so many games with people where the connection is so bad I'm getting teleported around constantly and you can't even vault or use pallets because the game freezes if youbtry due to lag.

Sometimes they have good ping on the lobby and it still happens.

Like what are you meant to do at that point? There's literally no point playing. You can't defend yourself, you can't have fun.

Sometimes you see the killer at the other side of the room swinging and you think "why on earth is he doing that?" Then a few seconds later your character drops down dead. Damn guess the killer has Jedi mind powers now.

I mean rage quits are bad, but the idea of a 30 minute ban on every disconnect is unfair while the game has no dedicated servers.
  • Probably because every few games a survivor will burn a coldwind offering.

It gets very boring very fast.

Here's another strategy people are using. Looks a bit cheap to be honest.

  • He's really not OP.

I think truetalent describes it well. Clown is the best 1 vs 1 in the game. However he isn't 1 vs X like say the Nurse.

Clown is really good in chases. People don't loop him much at all, he forces early pallet drops and with the right add-ons can slow survivors down and make it hard for them to escape.

However he has zero map pressure.

When the Clown starts chasing you you're going down, it's only a matter of time. (As long as it's a good clown, most people don't play him well so they camp) however while this does nothing for the survivor in question, the team as a whole needs to take advantage of this chase time offered to get the gens done.

Solo against the clown you're very weak but as a team you're strong if you understand what I mean. Even Clown mains will tell you he's weak to gen rush.

Being close minded doesn't help the discussion. Every single legion gameplay out there is double hitting in frenzy. Manyually exiting frenzy might be a viable strat. No one is saying legion should stay the way it is, at least im not, and I think he needs some buffs but they are not freddy tier.

Yeah this is the point. Not sure why the other guy assumes it's all a survivor conspiracy theory.

Right now Legion is weak at downing as he's like a 110% Wraith without the speed boost from unlocking, however his stun is a bit quicker than an add-on less uncloak I believe.

Having said that Wraith can't turn around and injure 4 survivors in the span of 10-15 seconds like Legion can, nor can he keep them pressured to stay injured all game. So it's a trade off.

He;s low-mid tier for sure but the people calling him broken are the ones who keep saying it takes him 4-5 hits to down people, they don't get that he isn't meant to down them that way.

Freddy is legit broken. You down someone, 3 other survivors run along to heal, you can't pick them up, you can't hit them away for 7 seconds, you can't catch people running to the exit gates if they're not asleep etc

    Legion isn't that bad.

Watching more gameplay people can mindgame survivors and get hits fairly easily. However on loops where it's not possible to mindgame yeah his slow speed really hurts him. I think this 112.5% movement speed might be an idea. 115% would definitely be too strong as when people do play him well survivors are injured almost all game, and very often they're also being hit with deep wound too so they're constantly getting slowed down. 110% is doable in open areas or when pallets are gone but makes some loops very difficult and a large time waste. The answer has to be a speed between 110 %- 115%.

  • Lmfao at the sole survivor change

Again, it's broken and unbalanced when facing swf.. it always comes to swf, i always played and will play alone, and will have to eat all the garbage nerfs because of swf toxicity, great BALANCE IDEAS

DS? Lol no you can easily get 4 solo survivors who all carry it. It has nothing to do with SWF.

Oh and as for you getting camped for trying to cleanse ruin...

Don't get me wrong, that sucks. It's never fun. Some advice going forward though, don't cleanse a totem if you spawn on it. 9 times out of 10 the killer will come running across the map to check on their totem and make sure a survivor didn't spawn on it. Much like gens you're better off waiting until they've done their patrol before you start cleansing it.

And you gotta admit it's not very fair to the killer to have survivors spawn on your totem. That's why they get salty. Its nobodys fault but the developers for having totems next to survivor spawns.
  • Dead Hard is really good. Gives you a second chance is you mess up a loop. Hence why it's annoying as killer.

WGLF - Good but use it responsibly. Don't farm. Good for the BP grind.

    No Mither - garbage.

    Vs

Breakdown - If you take it solo that's 2 hooks you'll do for your team. Not all that. Only good for the team if multiple people take it.

Distortion - Sounds like it will become a new meta perk. Going to be weak against a killer with a number of aura reading perks like Huntress, but many killers only take 1 so it will give you a fair bit of safety.

Aftercare - To be honest I'd just take Bond.

So based on that I'd go David. Plus David is useable, Jeff isn't at the moment as he's far too loud. They might change that though.
  • Including the basement is a joke  the basement might as well not exist.

9/10 times I'm near a basement hook I either take a Decisive Strike as I'm walking towards it or the person is the obsession so there's no point even trying.

You probably think I'm exagerrating....I really wish I was.
  • We had no aura reading perks from June 2016 to September 2017, it'll be fine.

But people have had aura reading from September 2017 - December 2018

I mean a game is meant to improve as it goes forward, that's the purpose of patches. DBD has come a long way.

Blocking auras isn't the end of the world but to say "oh the game was like this in its early days" makes no sense.
  • BunnyFeng is the greatest concept they've ever had. Yet it's still not in the game.

Meanwhile we get the guy from Jumani...
  • Since when could you get banned for farming?

DBD is full of it. I thought the major complaint is that not enough was done to tackle it.

95% of claudettes you come across will pull you off the hook to save themselves. I've had it happen many times as survivor and I see it happen all the time as killer.
  • I predict a number of sabo swuads with breakdown. If you hook them yoi'll only be doing them a favour.

That's the point, she doesn't need any cosmetics as most people only cycle between her 3 best camo outifts

survivors get way too many advantages anyway, giving killers a bonus offering would pretty much allow us to get moris and map selection or bonus points in 2 categories or just tons of bp to make up for playing the killer role. My issue with swf isn't them being toxic, it's from them being good and coordinated and ending the game faster I hate waiting in lobby 15 minutes for a 3-4 minute gen rush and I'm not gonna just get noed/bloodwarden just because the devs won't balance objective time discrepancy .

I don't understand this mentality. I'm someone who refuses to dodge lobbies because I think SWFs are fun to play against.

And you stating that SWF is the reason that gens get done so quickly is so obtuse. When you play against solos they don't suddenly not do gens because they're on their own, they're likely to play the game just as is.

and another note, if you get looped an entire match by one survivor, that isn't an SWF issue thats a killer issue. If one person keeps your attention an entire match and the other three do gens it's got nothing to do with SWF.

I think it's getting silly now that everyone is blaming SWF when they aren't that much different from solo, except they kind of sort of know where the killer is, and when I play killer i've never really found that to be an issue.

    Aren't that much different?

Perks like Bloodwarden and NOED are worthless against them.

Totems are pretty much worthless against them.

Then there's the fact that this is a time based games and SWF can co-ordinate everything letting them be much more efficient with their time thus giving them a huge advantage.

Just a small example - it's why exit gates are always immediately opened in SWF games. Because one tells their buddies the last gen is about to pop and then their friends will be stood right at the exit gates ready to start opening them immediately.

With solo it normally takes a little longer and not everyone is in position to run straight out of the gates.

    You are right.
"If you are looking in the Killer's direction, your link will reveal your Auras IconHelp auras.png to each other.

This effect applies only if you are outside of the Killer's Terror Radius. "

    Oh wow you're right.

I always assumed we had to be looking at each other but that it was just a bit glitchy. Damn, they really can see your back though.

Not to mention that sole survivor is sometimes run with this so killing off one of their friends first actually gives these twerps a little bit of protection.
  • Yeah. Pull out one of the coldwind maps and replace it with a carnival.

You main spirit, with more than 2400 hours, and you are complaining about ds? you played as killer before 2.1.0 and you still think it's unbalanced? k im done, sorry for bothering lol..

Even the devs admit it's unbalanced, that's why they've been floating around different nerf ideas for it for ages.

There's no question that it's unbalanced.
  • powerbats said:

If' you're taking the bait then that's your own fault really, it's like the person with the flashlight and bright clothes always clicking it to get your attention. They want to get you riled up and chase them and not pay attention to the people doing gens etc.

You know like the matador with the flaming red cape taunting the bull which then ignores the very sharp pointy object the matador is holding behind said cape.

I do feel like that sometimes, but the fact that they're giving their team your location over Discord means they're too much of a risk to be left in the game.

That's especially true if you're using a stealth character.

Nothing worse than approaching a gen well outside of terror radius, you see the aura of the obsession appear for a second and then everyone scarpers before you get anywhere near them.
  • "just bring enduring"

If only it were that simple.

Firstly we shouldn't have to. Literally everyone who unferstands videogames and plays dead by daylight knows that DS is broken. It shouldn't be in the game. Many streamers won't even use it because they know it's BS.

    Secondly and more inportantly...

It's not as simple as just bringing enduring. A lot of us rotate through killers, we like to play them all. Do you have any idea how long it takes to get one soecific perk on all killers?

First you need to level up Hillbilly. Fair enough that isn't so hard. Then however you have to level up 12 other killers often far beyond level 50 in order to get that perk. I've seen estimations of about 12 million blood points to get every perk on each character.

I've got every killer perk unlocked now, so obviously I've got an insane amount floating about in the bloodwebs so the odds of enduring turning up are quite low.

I think I have it on 4 maybe 5 killers, that leaves 8 killers without it and its taken me many, many hours of grinding to even get this far.

Not to mention enduring doesn't fit certain characters builds anyway i.e Hag.

One more of these killers that complains about DS. Its only stressfull if all survivors have the perk and when is you gonna se that? Never anymore.

Yeah that's not true is it pal.

Every 4/5 games has Decisive Strike in it for me - and thats a low estimation. Often times it will be at least 2 DS users in a game, sometimes 3.

I'd love to download this version of DBD that survivor mains are playing where nobody uses Decisive Strike.
  • Feng Ming is best girl.

As for killer, eh I'm trying to find a new main now. Not quite sure who to go with.

  • Oh boy....

You just opened up a can of worms.

  • Hopefully. When I chainsaw that flashlight clicking claudette I want to see blood and guts flying everywhere.
  • Just had rotten fields now.

So much fun going to a gen and having survivors vanish before you can even see them.

I get they want survivors to be able to hide but the corn is OP lol
  • the bodyblocking doesn't work most of the time.

Also what's the point? freddy gets a free hit after dream transition if he uses good addons too, the difference is he'll stay at 115% ms while legion sprints at a laughable 120%.

ppl here defending a 110% ms char that has a 120% sprint and needs 5 hits to down a survivor are hillarious, citing some noname streamer because he got a few stuns in against ppl who don't know of this strategy (hint, the stun is long enough for the survivor to reach a different loop)

I bet it's the exitgate block clip which is stupidly situational btw. Most topkillers already said it: there's no reason to play him over any other killer beyond being fun.

Yeah Freddy with his best add ons.

With basic freddy you put them asleep and they run to a nearby pallet so no he doesn't get a free hit. Plus Legion can tag multiple people in a couple of seconds. Freddy cant.

To compare freddy and legion in that manner is laughable.

And if you really want to get into freddy vs legion, at least legion foesnt have to wait 10 seconds to hit people, he can actually stop them going out the exit gates, or immediately stop a teammate who is healing them, he might be 110% speed but at least he doesn't have to wait 10 seconds just to hit them!

5 hits to down? Yeah because you're not meant to use his M2 to down otherwise he would be too powerful.

Also his strategy DOES work in certain places. Quite a few spots on the map allow it or when there's no pallets close enough. I've seen it a number of times. Near a loop no it doesn't work, he's a bit like wraith in that regard but admittedly not as good.

Look nobody is saying hes a strong killer. We're just saying that to say he's 100 levels below Freddy is hyperbole by people who aren't even playing him correctly.
  • Of course they do.

Freddy is so broken. You can't even pick survivors up if their teammates are healing them.

They're still selling this DLC despite admitting it needs a complete rework.

Meanwhile they're busy buffing Borrowed Time which nobody asked for.

So you are getting 3 kill games and you are complaining? lol you know a victory is not escaping, or killing all 4 survivors, a victory is having a good amount of points and piping in some cases, if you are getting 3 kills and 1 escapes thru the hatch then dont complain man.. You are pretty much saying that even with ds ur killing more than half the team, idk what's your point then

so what if he got a 3 kill? he was robbed of his rightful victory by a broken perk hatch is unfair enough already i feel his pain its one of my biggest gripes with this game

See this is the proble, you think you lose if u dont get 4k, sometimes u get 4k, sometimes u dont, sometimes you survive and sometimes you dont, you know i use ds a lot, but not cus omg it's easy and #########, legit im tired of getting tunneled and camped to the point i cant even do 1 gen, i legit wouldnt run ds if that wouldnt be the case, and im pretty sure many solo survivors who enjoy a good chase, do some progress on the game, wouldnt mind dying, i myself give away to the killers many times cus i did what i wanted to, a good chase, some gens, it was fun, no need to escape, both sides win, but if u play to get all 4 kills by camping and tunneling keep dealing with ds, it's the only escape for a survivor if u play dirty, i had many situations as killer where the survivor barely made it out, after getting hooked twice, cus of a ds or someshit, and they tbag and act cooky and yeah it's annoying, but you know the fact they are doing that, it's cus they are salty ugot them before, and with the nerfe on bbq and chili, man killer getting iron maiden, i cant believe ppl cant read patch notes or new perks coming out, "BBQ BEEN NERFED PLS HELP, WE CANT SEE SURVIVORS IN LOCKERS NOW BBQ IS USELESS OH GOD WHAT WE GONNA DO" bro chill ur tits just use iron maiden and no more locker dwightos, simple as that, and also i mainly use bbq and chili for 100% bloodpoints, if u want a good perk to see survivors out there, just run nurse call and injure them all, i always find them thanks to nurse call rather than bbq n chili honestly...

It's not about how many kills you get.

It's the fact that a survivor is guarenteed an escape due to a perk choice made before the match even began.

Survivors got their counter to BBQ - lockers, add this to distortion, and being within 40m, and hiding behind the gen, and faking directions etc etc

There's no counterplay to a decisive strike escape other than chasing down the obsession early and being forced to waste your time taking the stun and letting a gen pop in tradeoff.

    That's the problem.

It's a huge return for such little investment on the survivors part.
  • They'd have to do some serious work on the game to have destructable objects and walls. It isn't going to happen.

What killers who say 16 perks imagine:

    Clown
    Hag
    Spirit
    Doctor
To fill up the mid-tier. And

    Trapper
    Freddy
    Wraith
    Pig

We're all just saying that the top tier
    Nurse
    Billy
    Myers

Could have used another killer before one of those lists got yet another mediocre killer.

But spirit & hag > myers

    And wraith > doctor

    Haha if only.

It will probably get a buff.
  • From how aggressive people get on here it seems like they spend 99% of their time playing one side and only dabble on the other.

I play both a lot. I want DS removed more than anything else, and SWF equalized with solo a bit, but I also want camping and tunneling to end too.
  • @The_Crusader said:
Yeah you have to squint when certain survivors through the corn, lose track for a second and then they just disappear. All depends on their clothing.

4 corn maps is too much since they're quite hard for killers and statistically have the highest escape rates.

all you do is run in circles in the corn then start walking the killer will be so confused following the scratch marks you have a free escape its bullshit really

The density of the corn definitely needs to be nerfed.

In return they can make Lerys and the game a little bit easier.

I'd take the trade as killer.
  • I don't think the deep wound is the main purpose tbh. It slows them down a bit, but it's the injuries which are the real thing.

Those take a lot longer to heal. If survivors heal all the time then it really slows them down.

If they don't heal then they're always 1 shot from death.

Deep wound basically slows them down enough for you to zip around and apply it to all the other survivors, or slow them down a little bit each while you give chase to 1.

I would like to see this bodyblocking strat in play. Any clips out there?

Yes. Someone with a pig avatar posted their clip the other day but I can't find it.

Alternatively, check out Dowseygg on twitch. He was doing the same strategy the other day when he was on the ptb.

    Edit: Found it!

    https://clips.twitch.tv/FlirtyPoliteBatteryBatChest

You'll notice that this person doesn't hit Jake a second time. That's the important part.

So they take a quick stun, but they can then M1 the survivor.

If you hit a person whose already suffering from deep wound, you get the attack cooldown/weapon wipe, then the survivor gets a speed boost, and then you suffer the stun. Those 3 things add to the distance.

Thats why after you've hit a survivor in frenzy and refilled your frenzy meter, you use it to catch up to them, block them and manually cancel the frenzy with M2.
  • BBQ isn't even the worst hit. 3 hooks and their tokens are gone (unless they use lockers to save tokens). So you'l see them eventually, even though BBQ doesnt matter because its the easiest to counter anyway.

Nurse's calling however, that's MUCH more situational. That's going to be hurt more by this if that's your only tracking perk.

Bitter Murmer? 3 gens will go before you see a single aura if the whole team has it (and theres a good chance this will go meta)

As for Deerstalker....yeah thats pretty much done for now if you wanted a slugging game.

The Claudettes will definitely all be taking this perk as most people only use her to stay hidden. So you'll have to take multiple aura reading perks now just to burn through those tokens faster. Ironically BBQ's biggest use now will be for getting through tokens fast so other tracking perks aren't rendered useless.
  • Ace with his leopard print shirt and moustache.
  • Its not a noob perk.

I tend to ignore nearby survivors too. I know they're nearby, theres always 1 nearby, but i aint got time tk look for them so I'll go after the auras I do see.

I'll only look around nearby if I don't see any auras. Not seeing 3 auras is highly suspicious.
  • Thanatophbia - He's the only one that can keep it up. Plus survivors have a choice, either heal up which is great for legion as it wastes a lot of time and really slows the game down, or they suffer a 15% penalty to everything. Also counters resilience.

Enduring/ Spirit fury - Cus he needs help on loops. Also makes Decisive a little less painful

Discordance - He's all about finding survivors together so this perk works great. Also shows gen aura not their aura so not countered by that new survivor perk.

Bloodhound/stridor - if survivors are gonna be injured a lot this will help tracking.

Brutal strength - gives him that little bit of help to catch up on pallets

Heard Remember me is great too as your frenzy attacks count for it. So can easily build a full 30 seconds.
1 … 54 55 56 57 58 … 68
