Welp u aren't gonna get any better If u face an AI who was a predetermined pattern unlike a person

But with some killers you just want a feel of how they play. Instead of going into an actual game where you don’t have time to waste. I know it wouldn’t be the same as facing real people. I never claimed that it would be...

  • I also wish we had some sort of way to practise killers without playing against real people. I want to try Oni out but I just feel like he’s going to be really sluggish and frustrating to play on console.

no worries man, i have difficulty explaining things so i say one thing and explain it later (Autism does that to me more then i would like), but glad to know we share a similar viewpoint

It’s totally fine. It can be hard trying to explain things through text, it’s definitely not the same as being able to actually articulate what you want to say with words. I just thought you meant that trying to be sneaky whilst also doing objectives was something you didn’t like. Now I know you just don’t like when teammates do nothing but hide all game and wait for the hatch, I have to agree. That type of gameplay isn’t strategic. It’s just selfish.

  • Now you’ve fully explained it. I understand what you mean and I agree. I play stealthy but I’m not immersive in a way I won’t do gens, or go for unhooks etc. I also don’t mind getting into chases as I actually enjoy looping the killer.

I had a match last night where we got down to 1 gen left against a Freddy. He was really easy to loop and me and a random Nancy were pushing this gen, but we just couldn’t get it finished. I had Kindred and whenever she or this David would be hooked, I’d notice Dwight’s aura either wasn’t visible (in a locker) or he was crouched behind a tree doing absolutely nothing. This really pissed me off as me and Nancy were honestly wasting so much of this Freddy’s time and he didn’t touch a generator once. I think the whole looping and trying to fix a generator scenario went on for around 10 mins. It was honestly intense and really fun. In the end it got down to me and Dwight and he was put in the basement so I left him there to die and got the exit gate. I wasn’t going to risk going down for a player like that.

I just think with players like that, who needs a killer? Lol. At the end of the game I noticed he had Urban Evasion and a key so he was waiting for us to die when we could have all escaped if he had tried to help us. I messaged him at the end of the match and he told me he was doing generators and when I told him I had Kindred he didn’t reply. He knows he did nothing. Getting teammates like that just really boils my blood.

  • Claudette's facial expression. Lookin’ like she smelt it AND dealt it.

  • I play Demo quite a lot and what works for me is putting them hidden near a generator. I notice a lot put them right next to the generator, which is a big no-no, as then they get destroyed within seconds. Try to hide them near enough that it doesn’t take you long to get to the gen, but also far enough away that a survivor won’t instantly see it. He’s also great with perks like Surveillance as it allows you to keep track on what gens are being worked on. He’s honestly such a fun killer to play as and you rarely see him. Makes me sad.

I know right, when I first saw that i died. Tbh the dev's should do something like this for April fools, where every killer has there model swapped with there survivor. Ot would be hilarious watching nea as nurse float around or have clown fast vault and then teabag.

That could actually be a really cool event. Imagine sat repairing a generator as Michael, only to turn your camera and see Claudette stalking you, trying to get to Tier 3. Truly what nightmares are made of.

Yeah! There are a ton of perks and items you could use to counter NOED or benefit from bone cleansing. (up and including the power No Mither :^)). Detective's Hunch, a map, Small Game, and Inner Strength come to mind.

Detectives Hunch + Inner Strength is my current build on Tapp. It’s a very underrated perk. It’s also great at preventing the dreaded 3-gen scenario.

  • I am dying. Can we please get her added as a new killer? Who needs Slenderman when you have that monstrosity. 💀😂

  • @JackFrostMan said:

Look, I hate giving a non answer/get good thing, but literally just do bones. Is it kinda cheap? Sure. But it only activates at the end game and can be easily countered if survivors just do bones.

I’ve been running Detective’s Packed Lunch a lot recently and it’s honestly so good. You can quickly get rid of totems. I cleansed a Doctors Ruin and Devour within the first 2 mins of a match the other day. Poor dude.

  • I’m seeing a lot of Mori’s too. I personally just crash my app. Ain’t nobody got time for a Mori. I never use them as killer. I just don’t see the point in them. And 9/10 the people that use them HAVE to use them to secure kills.

  • I was wondering where the obligatory NOED post was. Found it.

Some people have to stroke their egos and fragile self esteems someway. If anyone actually says that to you in a videogame then they're not even worth acknowledging.

I’ve noticed that some people have very hollow lives. Gaming is all they have to make them feel ‘alive’. But, they’re not paying me to be their therapist, so they can take their baggage elsewhere. I just laugh and ignore any messages I receive.

The amount of players on PS4 with bios like “Toxic Dwight Main” or “I will camp you if you teabag” is just so embarrassing. I swear some people think they are actually living in Dead By Daylight.

  • One thing I find annoying is that I’ll often safety pip as a killer, even after getting a 4K. But as a survivor I can consistently pip, even when I feel like it’s been a slow game for me. Sometimes you’re punished as a killer for being able to down / kill the survivors fast. But if you just rush gens as a survivor you can still pip. That to me, isn’t balanced.

I just wish they'd make stalking a little faster and remove the whole stupid 'lean' thing. It's inconsistent as hell, it's not practical most of the time, his daily 'use the power' challenge is a nightmare, and 99% of the time Ghostfaces just abandon stalking altogether in favour of a silent approach.

I have recently started stalking with him and I do manage to get quite a lot of insta-downs. But I mostly use him for the Sloppy + Thana + Nurses combo. He’s a great stealth killer.

  • I started rewatching at the start of lockdown and I finished S13 last night. I know you find people who say the show should have ended at S5 but some of the best episodes / characters don’t come until later. I can’t imagine never meeting Charlie who became an instant favourite of mine, or seeing episodes like Baby and Scoobynatural. I’ve honestly loved every season. For me, the roughest patch was during S7 as the villains were pretty boring, but S8 soon picked things up again and that finale was stunning. Especially the closing scenes. I’m so nervous for the final episodes of S15 as I just don’t know what to expect in the finale. They’ve got a lot to live up to.

For Sam and Dean as characters I’d assume they would base them off their most recent versions, but we could get so much DLC for them. So we’d probably get some different hairstyles like Sam with no facial hair and his fringe from S1.

  • The thing I’m not looking forward to is facing hackers. You don’t come across them on PS4 and you can find them a lot on PC. I just don’t want to come across that stuff when I’m trying to play.

Yeah my sister is a massive fan and when I mentioned the possibility she said a paragraph would probably be the best way to go. I've also seen mentions of a castiel legendary skin, but I don't know enough about him to say if he would work.

Castiel would be a great legendary skin and he’s one a lot of people would definitely pay to have. Supernatural is one of those rare shows where a lot of the characters have big fan bases, so there’s so much potential. We know that legendary skins are a thing they’ll be doing more of going forward, so I guess we’ll see. 👀

I have watched 5 episodes so far, and it's pretty boring. I really hope it gets better.

Season 1 was pretty much monster of the week episodes whilst they set up the characters. I feel like it picked up more towards the middle and it had some really strong episodes. I never found it boring though. I was a fan from episode 1. 😂

  • @SCP_FOR_DBD said:

I haven't watched the show, but I've seen some small pieces of it. It seems like a perfect fit. I'm not sure if it would be a paragraph featuring Sam and Dean or a full blown chapter, but I'm fine with it either way.

Personally, I think they would just do a paragraph chapter. There’s definitely some really cool killers, but when people think of Supernatural they think of Sam and Dean. It would be a win for both parties because it would bring a lot of new players over to DBD and it would also introduce more people to the wonderful world of Supernatural.

I mention CW because you cannot have a serious HORROR program on at 8pm network TV without cutting out a lot of material. I have seen several episodes of the show. I feel like i'm spinning my wheels here. I don't dislike the show, it's just nowhere near the tone of the game or the other franchises. I'm going to try this from another angle. Imagine you own the Hellraiser Franchise. You're already going to be protective of your property against a project like DBD because of all the various other Franchises they incorporate with it. Now you start adding in franchises like Supernatural. Is that going to make you more likely or less likely to give them the rights?

    How Wikipedia describes supernatural:

    Genre

    missing: HORROR

Please don’t use Wikipedia as a source. Anybody can edit that. One of its genres is horror. And that’s a fact. Nothing you say will change that. It doesn’t matter if it airs at 8pm. It can get away with that because it doesn’t have nudity or profanities. It can still be pretty gory. The first Halloween virtually has no gore, does that mean it isn’t really a horror movie? Because essentially it’s just a guy walking around in a white mask and overalls for the majority of the film. And what exactly does Hellraiser have to do with anything? If I owned the rights to those movies I wouldn’t have an issue with them being in a game with Supernatural characters. Just like I wouldn’t have an issue with them being in a game with Stranger Things characters. So I’m not entirely sure what point you were trying to make, but it failed.

You’re acting as if we want Monica Gellar and Rachel Green in the game and our reasoning is because Friends have done Halloween episodes before. Supernatural fits. End of.

There’s no point in you replying as you’re wasting your own time. As you can see by everything you’ve said, we don’t agree. So we might as well stop here. This is my last response to you.

I've already noted Evil Dead directly above your comment as an example due to it's comedic elements. At it's core Evil Dead is pure horror. At Supernaturals core it's a cw tv show. There's no point is arguing this further as you can't see the difference either due to your affection for the program or something else.

Thanks for clarifying what I already assumed. You’re a snob. You think because it’s on The CW it means something negative, which it doesn’t. Stranger Things is more teeny than Supernatural. Supernatural has an ADULT cast whereas Stranger Things primarily follows the lives of teens. Supernatural fits into this game and that’s a fact and I genuinely think it’s only a matter of time before we see it added. So I suggest you start saving up those BP as I know you can’t wait to play. xo

It's a question of where do you draw the line? Should BHVR consider adding goosebump monsters? If your argument is Supernatural should be classified as Horror in the same vein as ANOS, Texas Chainsaw Masssacre, Saw, Halloween, Evil Dead, Silent Hill, etc I'm going to disagree with you all day on that. Can you classify Supernatural as a Horror tv show? You can, but that's a hell of a stretch.

The fact you tried to compare Goosebumps and Supernatural tells me all I need to know. You clearly haven’t watched it. You even claimed that Stranger Things was more of a horror show, which it isn’t. Literally Google horror tv shows and Supernatural will be on every single list you find. For good reason. So it isn’t a ‘hell of a stretch’. You seem very narrow minded when it comes to what you class as a horror.

Supernatural doesn’t just have one centralised killer like Halloween, so why would you even compare the two? Supernatural has dealt with pretty much every sub-genre of horror you can think of. It’s no different from Evil Dead.

A few examples of the MANY creatures that appear throughout the show.

    DD1AD09F-1363-4447-874A-3315C3B8B881.jpeg 72127E56-92BB-4BD4-BDB8-42D0FA35CA2B.jpeg 7CB08DDD-5D60-4FAF-9AF8-C5C1099E30D3.jpeg 63D085BF-A8BD-4E89-9378-F8D176008FD4.jpeg 08C7642C-7A41-4838-A21D-2B76C6B13DA3.jpeg 56DA833B-786F-40E1-93B8-40F80269239E.jpeg

But you’re right. It’s not horror. It’s virtually a Disney Channel Original Movie.

I only mentioned Stranger Things because earlier in this very thread someone pointed to Stranger Things as an example of why it should be included. Again, no offense to those who like the idea but I'd prefer the game doesn't include things that are further and further from the horror genre. I have seen the show.

This is what I don’t understand. Supernatural IS part of the horror genre. It doesn’t come down to whether or not you like the show. It’s a fact. So how would including characters from a HORROR show bring the game further away from HORROR? You’re making no sense.

  • @xGodSendDeath said:

Is this just a long-winded humble brag? What a pointless thread

Where did I brag? And you’ve already commented so why say this now? What a pointless second comment.

The point of my post is about how annoying it is to go against players who DC and deny you BP for literally no reason other then that they felt like it.

  • @xGodSendDeath said:

They probably just felt like they had lost at that point and wanted to move on to the next game. I know it's possible to come back from losing 2 - 3 gens without a hook, but it is really deflating when you abandon your first chase after 2 pallets or so and two gens immediately pop

They didn’t actually immediately pop. She chased the David for awhile before the first one got done. I was working on the second right next to her and she kept ignoring me. And then hit me off it but didn’t continue to chase. She then accused me of being a gen rusher. They’re just a sore loser. I’m not sure how they even got to rank 4 if this is how they play. The fact they bragged about how they would have beat me if they were using the Nurse with an ebony mori says it all. 😂😂

  • @NekoGamerX said:

feel like he should be banned not you..

I’m careful when I message people. I’m never abusive. They just got really defensive for no reason. You can turn games around when you have zero hooks and 1 gen left standing. So I just don’t get why you’d give up after losing 2, especially when you don’t commit to any chase.

  • @xenotimebong said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/173064/why-do-people-complain-about-rank

I think it’s because other games have skill sets that can be applied from/to other games more easily. There’s nuance to TLoU multiplayer, but ultimately if you’ve played the single player campaign and can aim and shoot you’ll do okay.

DBD is really unlike most other games and the skill curve is quite punishing. There are hundreds of perks, 20 killer powers, and a ton of meta game knowledge that you don’t really get a grasp of your first few games.

Compare the playstyle of a survivor on their first game and a survivor on their 5000th hour. The first kind of player will hide, they won’t know where to go or what to do, when chased they’ll just run in a straight line to the corner of the map. When you’re the 5000 hour player and you’re matched with someone who plays like it’s their first match of DBD, it’s frustrating.

I understand what you’re saying and I do agree. But, I’ve come to expect this from any game I play online as I’m always with a variety of ranks. And it is frustrating being paired with newbies. Even on a game like The Last of Us. Sure there’s not as much you need to learn about, but it’s still not an easy game to pick up. Even after playing the campaign. As there’s more to it than simply running around and shooting and new players will more often than not leave games halfway through because they just get demolished. I think if they were to fully implement a ranking system where you play with people in your rank range it would make lobby waiting times ridiculous.

LoL literally has mmr rating for every separate game mode and in ranked you wouldn't be getting iron ranks VSing Challenger players.

R6 Siege does the same thing.

Pretty much any competitive game matches via rank. Dots, csgo, valorant, overwatch, etc.

The Last of Us is a competitive game. Uncharted 4 is a competitive game. COD is a competitive game. Warface is a competitive game. You still get put into lobbies with a variety of ranks. It’s definitely not a new concept. Every single game I play online has mixed lobbies. So I can only comment on what I personally have played. For me, this is the norm.

  • @SweetTerror said:

For argument's sake let's say that that's how every multiplayer game works (it doesn't), do you honestly think that matching new players with veterans is the right way to go about setting up a match? Is getting wrecked and snowballed over and over the proper way to introduce new players?

If multiplayer only games want to continue building their player bases, than they need to have a fair and balanced experience available for all players, regardless of skill level. Because simply saying "git gud" doesn't help anybody.

I’m not saying I enjoy going against people at a lower rank than me. But I see it in every multiplayer game I play. I already listed a lot above and all of them function the same. Lobbies are mixed. But people act like DBD is the only game that does this and it really isn’t. Every single multiplayer I play / have played have done this. And I’ve played a lot. I just expect it.

  • @Momentosis said:

You haven't played a lot of games if you think that's how every multiplayer game works

I played against a TTV a couple weeks ago and he was a pretty chill guy and now i play dbd with him alot assuming all TTV’s are literally sweats is wrong because they can be some of the chillest people in this game

I had this when Pyramid Head came out. I got a 4K on Haddonfield with zero perks and was expecting salt but they were all singing my praises. Saying they can’t believe I got a 4K on that map with no perks. It was nice seeing people actually giving compliments and noticing I was at a disadvantage.

  • @connormorgan said:

Because dbd used to have something where new ranks only played against people in there ranks so they can learn to play. Tbf this game is alot harder than friday. F13 was easy to learn after like 3-5 games.

FT13 was just an example. The Last of Us isn’t an easy game to pick up either. It’s extremely challenging for newbies but you still get paired with people 900+ ranks higher than you. It’s not a new concept.

  • @Aaliyah said:

Well, dbd is a game of 4v1, and let's say the killer is completely new and plays against Rank 4 Survivors. The survivor's ofc destroy the killer. The survivors probably had fun but the killer didn't. Survivors continue playing the game and the killer stops for the day and just deinstall the game. What I'm trying to say is that the game is just not fun as a newer player if you are paired up with players who are much more experienced then yourself.

But, that’s literally every single multiplayer game. It’s like on The Last of Us, when I’m against a lobby of new players I will absolutely destroy them. To the point they won’t even get a single down or kill. That won’t be fun for them, but it’s how you learn how to be a good player. Everybody starts somewhere. I’ve just never played a game where I’ve been in a lobby with people all at the same rank. I’m almost certain that most people complaining don’t play other online games as this is normal. The Last of Us, Friday the 13th, GTA5, COD etc. It’s always a rainbow of ranks.

I also get what youre on about, but thats just where people are different.

There are also survivors that just want to end the game fast if someone DCs but want to keep the BP.

In the end its on the killer who decides to end that match fast or farm a bit and both options are totally fine to me.

Its not the killer who DCd its the DCing survivor who should get the "hate"^^

Poor killers get called out for tryharding after the DC when they just want to play a normal game asap

Some killers do play extra sweaty when it isn’t warranted though. I’ve had plenty of matches where somebody has DC’d at the start and the killer will hard vision tunnel people off hooks etc. I just don’t see why that’s necessary when they already have a huge advantage. I’ll only play ‘nice’ if it’s not a cocky team. I just don’t find it fun being able to steam roll through a lobby because it’s now a 1 vs 3. I also get more BP when they let me farm hooks as most survivors will just die on their first hook if you don’t start farming with them in these types of games. So I see it as a win for both sides.

But, everybody is free to play how they want. I just personally don’t find enjoyment in matches where I feel like I’m being handed a win.

  • Banned for what exactly? As somebody else said, you can’t be banned for camping, tunnelling or slugging. So there must be more to the story.

  • I’m convinced that some people do this as a mind game. As I’ve played with and against a few of these players on PS4 and when you actually go onto their Twitch to watch your game back they have no followers / no videos uploaded. I’m sure they just want to make the killer feel more pressured to ‘perform’. 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

  • You can run but you can’t hide. I’ll always be there. Watching. Waiting.

Well nothing the killer to blame for IMO.

I mean Killers dont want to farm every game, they just wanna play the game.

If you have a DC every second game like it feels now you just wanna get fast kills and move on to an actual challenge

I get what you’re saying, but for me personally, if somebody DC’s or kills their self on the hook really early into the game, I’ll just farm for the rest. As I know how annoying it is as a survivor to have somebody trying to throw the match for the rest of the team and then also facing a killer who’s in full sweat mode.

  • @Alice_pbg said:

If I have.. I didn't realize it. I don't usually pay attention to user names besides "that one was the meg, he played well/terribly/"

but, there was one person that asked me to farm (I think I was killer... not sure) and I said no.

I don't remember if I left the lobby or if they did, or no one did (I do dodge if the killer asks me to farm so I think I was the killer)

but, I got another game at some other point and didn't notice a msg (I usually have youtube open while I wait for a match so this is actually pretty normal)

the message was "put noed you will need it"

after the match she send another msg "you didn't want to farm with me"

I do remember not killing anyone in the match (at max 1 person), but it was a normal bad match, not one of those were the survivors just bully you all game... so I laughed and said "farming is boring"

I opened the messages on my ps4 to check, the first msg was on september last year, and the NOED one was march this year. The grudge is real...🤣

People are just weird. One thing I find really odd is I notice a lot of players on PS4 have bios about DBD. So I’m assuming it’s the only multiplayer game they play. People need to venture out more lol. I think this is why I get some really salty messages because when people die in this game they act like they died in real life.

I wasn’t even being rude to this killer. I just genuinely wanted to know why they kept leaving so fast. They said they were going to report me, which I told them was fine as I hadn’t done anything that was reportable. They then became really juvenile and told me to ‘get back in the kitchen where I belong’ 😂.

  • I’m noticing this too. Last night I had 5 matches where survivors DC’d and 3 matches where the killer did. I also had 2 matches against the same Billy who would pretend to farm all game. And then kill his obsession with Rancor and let everybody else go. It was such a random night. 😂

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 17
