The longest game I had was 30mins. Because I didn't just walk around the 3 gens. I searched the players that were hiding and found them. Guess what 2 of them had urban evasion and spine chill. It's so annoying that you guys are talking trash everytime in the forum. Like, if you're too bad to find 1 players of 3 players why should they get Punished For it? Should they just go and let him kill them? They wasted their own time also so I don't see the problem

Good for you. I also found them in the end and I don’t recall stating otherwise? So please don’t try to tell me how I played when you don’t have a clue. The point is, survivors shouldn’t be able to stretch out a game so long because they don’t want to do generators. It’s got nothing to do with being a bad or good killer. I know I’m a good killer and I don’t have to prove anything to anyone. But we all know that a Claudette on Yamaoka Estate is basically a cloaked Wraith.

If I decide to bodyblock a survivor into a corner for 10-30 mins, is that okay for me to do? This is no different. I don’t feel like using perks like Whispers or playing as Doctor and you shouldn’t be punished for that.

What we’re talking about is a BANNABLE OFFENCE. So how are we talking trash? Maybe learn to read before you comment to avoid looking like a moron.

“iF yOuRe tOo BaD” LMAO goodbye.

People have been talking about it an a very good solution is to just debuff only SWF survivors similar to dying light or thana.

Solo survivors would work on gens at the same speed they do now.

4 SWFs would have a static debuff then add a debuff of x multipled by 4 (the number in this SWF example)

Wouldn’t that also punish the solo survivor though? Because essentially they’re in a lobby with people who can’t do objectives as quick as they can. Not every SWF is on mic either. I used to play with a guy from France and we never spoke on mic. We just liked playing together as we were both good survivors and could rely on each other. Why would it be fair for us to receive a repairing drawback when we’re technically both solo survivors?

  • Do you have any suggestions of how you’d balance the game around SWF in a way that doesn’t punish solo players who also happen to be in their lobby?

Yeah if she responds she aint worth it because you cant persuade people like that.

That’s why I’m not replying to anything she says. They’re a survivor main who doesn’t know the first thing about playing killer. The Devs have already said this type of behaviour can get you banned. But she clearly knows best. Hopefully she gets to join the team soon. We need somebody with her high skill knowledge. 🌚

I dont like the idea of "People who paid for the chapters can choose to keep themes/get themes with the chapters" Because what if i don't like the chapters new killer/survivor etc but i just want the theme? I say Offfer them separately survivor and killer can be bundled sure but have themes separately available i stead of having to buy the whole chapter. Dont force people to get somethings they may not want

To be fair, now that I think about it, it shouldn’t even be something you have to pay for. Once the theme has gone they’ve never used again. Why waste them? Just give us the option to switch back to whatever theme we want. There’s literally no reason why this shouldn’t be implemented.

  • I think anybody that purchases a chapter should be able to select that particular menu theme. It’s something simple and if people want it, I don’t see an issue.

    I really miss this:

I doubt PGTW will ever get changed, as a survivor main I do see it as a balanced perk. You have to win a chase, successfully hook, and then make it to the gen you want to hit before it gets finished to pop it. PGTW promotes good and fun gameplay, no matter how irritating it is to have your gen instantly regressed by 25%. And now there is a perk that directly counters it, so anyone who really has a problem with PGTW should just run Repressed Alliance (or whatever that new gen blocking perk is called)

This is a good way to look at it. You have to successfully chase / down / hook somebody to even get to use it. I’d be more worried about it being changed if it was something that was always active, but as you said, I see it as a balanced perk. It rewards a killer for doing their objective.

My point was, if you cant hit skill checks, you most certainly can hit W and go look for a totem.

Using "cant hit skill checks" as a reason to change something illustrates without doubt the player lacks skills, its not the games fault. I mean, its literally called "skill check" oh the irony.

Super Mario Bros design on NES had a Goomba come at you as soon as you start, forcing the player to learn the first motion in the game, "jump"

If a player cannot learn to jump, then its them not the game fault.

Yeah, I see what you mean. It was strange for them to change an entire perk to just cater to newbies, especially considering Ruin wasn’t ever really used on low rank killers. And if a newbie was playing with their high rank friends, well, that’s their issue.

Us Legion players have felt that sadness every day. Which is why you see my posts hoping for his power to be addressed one day again.

If you were around during that time you know it was a rushed decision, pushed out quickly to try and quell and combat the amount of twitch streamers promoting and showing how to do the backwards cheese to pressure the devs. I saw it day after day, streamers with 1000s of viewers were like "maybe this will force the devs to delete Legion" so they did the backwards cheese all day on stream causing others to do it. Devs reacted by totally destroying his feral frenzy.

Meanwhile those of us who actually played and loved legion were like "man you guys are terrible and should be banned"

Instead, no-name players who did the exploit and the exploit when you had infinite mending etc, were banned, but these streamers are still live, and have never been reprimanded despite being scummy and causing the entire ordeal to be worse.

I blame them for what happened to legion.

I’ve been playing since 2017 and I actually purchased Legion on day one. Even with the changes they’re still one of my favourite killers to play as, I just don’t think I ever utilised the fact they could down with FF, so it caught me off guard seeing Monto doing it. I remember all the controversy was surrounding the infinite mending build and the moonwalking. I don’t recall anybody complaining about FF being able to down them so I don’t get why that was taken away? It just seems like a weird thing to do.

    Hey guys,

Let me start with saying I am a newer player with under 100 hours of gameplay experience. I try to play both sides evenly, and I AM a pretty weak killer, though it is fun.

With that being said... This game is a hide and seek game. Why, so often, are people whinning that people sometimes play the game as such? I find it interesting when I have a couple survivors left hiding on me! People's comments always reads as if they have no time to play a video game, which in itself is a time waster. If every match lasted 5 - 10 mins, I would get amazingly bored with this game fast. If everyone is freaking out about games that may take longer, this game really should implement a timeframe, no different than F13 does. Make every match 20-40 mins. The Lore could justify doing such by stating if you do not escape by Daylight, you are trapped forever. You could even make this a new game ending: stalemate or To Be Continued. I would rather this approach is taken rathet than seeing people whine about a video game eating up time. Really guys? =/

    ~DFW

Nobody is freaking out about games taking longer, but how is doing nothing for over 10 mins fun? Are you telling me if a killer blocked you into a corner for hours (which is possible) with no way for the game to end but for you to DC, that’s okay? Because it really isn’t. It’s classed as taking the game hostage and it’s a bannable offence. A game can only end when all survivors are dead or have escaped. If EGC hasn’t been triggered you’re forced to stay in the game.

With you being a new killer, I am going to assume you haven’t encountered anything like this yet. But I’ve been playing for 3 years now and it can happen and it is annoying. I have no problem with chasing and tracking. But if a Claudette is just moving from bush to bush, how am I supposed to find her with ease? This isn’t just something people are complaining about for no reason. The fact people can be banned for it is all you need to know.

"They said they changed Ruin because it wasn’t fair on newer players who couldn’t hit skillchecks."

. If anything new players should be able to run around and do a totem, reeasons like "new players miss skill checks" only believed by the gullible.

I’m not gullible but I know all my friends who started playing the game were awful at hitting skill checks and Ruin made it almost impossible for them. It was easy to bypass at high ranks but not at lower ranks so I personally understand why it was tweaked. I actually think the current Ruin is stronger because it actually puts more pressure on survivors.

  • @DrDeepwound said:

As I, and many others have posted many times, the Legion changes had nothing to do with the chasing backwards cheese. They aded all kinds of punishing nerfs to Legion, that had zero to do with the exploit they were addressing.

"Why?" you ask, thats what Legion players have been asking since the day it happened.

We stopped asking why long ago and now await our time of revenge.

We shall be lethal again one day, "when?" is the real question.

I completely understand why they removed the moonwalking exploit. But I don’t get why they removed the ability to down with FF? Watching the Monto video actually made me a little sad as I completely forgot it was a thing and now I want it back.

  • They said they changed Ruin because it wasn’t fair on newer players who couldn’t hit skillchecks. PGTW doesn’t make hitting skillchecks more difficult so I can’t see why they’d need to change it.

Yeah but don't we have to have a reason as to why Susie digging a knife through castiels chest would kill him?

Good point. I didn’t think of that. Maybe he doesn’t have powers anymore? I mean, if the Entity can take teenagers and turn them into Legion, I’m pretty sure it can also remove Castiel’s grace. It’s a completely different realm. I don’t think the same set of rules apply there.

  • I’m not even going to lie, I do slug and sometimes go to look for the hatch so that I know where to go after I hook the second to last guy.

It also happened to me yesterday as a survivor but I was running Unbreakable so it didn’t bother me.

  • What perks would you class as useless?

  • @PleassBuiltInNoed said:

if you are experienced killer its very easy to know if someone is a swf just by seeing how coordinated they are

Yes and no. I have been in plenty of matches with other good survivors where I know the killer will assume we’re a SWF by the way we’re playing but I’m in a solo lobby. Sometimes it’s 2 SWF and 2 strong solo survivors. Sometimes it’s literally just 4 strong solo survivors. It isn’t difficult to play co-ordinated without being on mic to each other. Especially with certain perks.

  • I personally disagree. I think he’s a strong killer when you know how to play him. I’ve gone against a few on console who tore through me and my team and that was without camping. I actually love playing as him too and don’t seem to struggle. I actually feel strong playing as him and often 4K.

No killer in the game is weak, it’s just some are easier to pick up and play than others. Clown is considered weak. I can destroy as him. Legion is considered weak. I can destroy as him. Billy is considered strong. I hate playing as him. Spirit is considered strong. I hate playing as her. See my point?

100% agree, the last time I can remember getting hit with Blood Warden was becuse a teammate opened gate but that was prior to my recent 10 month break so it was over a year ago.

    You are correct there

I was actually in shock that somebody on my team opened the gate. It was so obvious he had it. Why else would he only start playing once the last generator was fixed? Him also having NOED was a huge giveaway. Luckily, I still managed to escape. But it was a close one lol.

I play the same as you, I just assume that every killer has it. It’s the best way to be. Better to be safe than sorry.

  • @DrDeepwound said:

I am a killer main so when I play survivor, I always play around things like Blood Warden. Have not gotten trapped by it in a very long time. Being a killer player allows me to make decisions based on what a killer would do or is doing in a situation. The main perks I play as if all killers have, nurses, BBQ, Blood Warden, and noed.

It’s alright saying that YOU play around it, but whenever I get caught by it, it’s because a teammate has opened the gate, which is something I can’t stop lol.

I recently had an AFK Bubba who ‘came back to life’ once the last gen popped with NOED and I knew he had Blood Warden but didn’t realise it’s now been changed that if one gate is open it also affects the other one. That definitely caught me off guard. 😂

  • If a killer is hard camping somebody, you punish them by rushing the gens and getting out of there. The mistake most survivors make is trying to rush the hook and getting downed in the progress. I can’t tell you how many games I’ve been in like this where a killer like Bubba has been handed an easy 3K. 🤦🏻‍♂️

  • Just imagine a match against a Doctor and an insta-down killer. I’m having fun already.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

I mean A LOT is boiled down to the skill of the player him/her-self.

Many killers want to claim “I lost because of SWF” but never wonder if they themselves are just bad at the game where those survivors are probably just decent.

SWF doesn’t give you the necessary skills to win a match. Sharing information doesn’t mean much when you do not know what you’re going to do with it.

Just to be clear I’m not saying I don’t see the difference in information sharing but I am pointing out that there is a lot more involved when winning than just “being on comms”. Half the time people are talking about their own personal life while playing not sweating like many seem to think.

This. Whenever I used to play as a 4-man we’d mostly be talking about other stuff. It’s a game at the end of the day. We weren’t sat there going over our battle plans like we’re about to head to war lol.

I sometimes feel like I’m playing a different game to everybody else as I actually find SWF easier to kill. I haven’t gone against a single SWF that hasn’t thrown the match in some way by being too altruistic whilst trying to save their friend from being downed / hooked.

The teams you should be worried about are the solo ones that don’t care if their teammate dies on the hook. Obviously not every solo player is like this, but there’s more of them than in SWF.

  • @28_stabs said:

You 3gen yourself, if you dont chase survivors.

I’m guessing you don’t play killer because what you said is just not factual lol. First of all, the killer doesn’t 3-gen, it’s the survivors ERROR to make as it’s a scenario that actually benefits the killer. Second of all, it has nothing to do with not chasing survivors. But a lot of survivors will run to / get downed at the same side of the map which normally results in the rest of the team doing gens on the opposite side, therefore leading to a situation where all the gens are cooped up together. So please don’t try to paint this as something negative that the killer did as it really isn’t. It’s just something a killer can take advantage of.

I was honestly thinking Gluttony but all of them except maybe Greed could work. I just don't know how they would translate anime into DBD appearance wise. I'm sure they'd go for something between their anime look and a human look.

A FMAB chapter would be everything I didn’t know I needed in this game. Gluttony could be a terrifying killer to face. I’m assuming in terms of implementing anime / manga into the game they would just try to imagine how that character would look if they were live action. They could also use the words ‘inspired by’ so that it gives them a bit more freedom when it comes to the design.

They're supposed to face the consequences of their #########-up instead of holding the game hostage.

    Seriously though.

If my team ever get into a 3-gen situation I still try to pressure the gens because it is a scenario you can still win. I’d rather just die trying than hide.

Also, when I talked about my own experience with this earlier in the thread, the survivors hadn’t even 3-genned. They just stopped trying to fix them and waited for each other to die. I fail to see what tracking perks work against Claudette’s with Spine Chill and Urban Evasion?

Just got another Merciless 4K with him and got back up to rank 2. I think I’m gonna keep him as my main for awhile. He’s a blast to play as. I love how you can walk around holding your tonic now without being slowed down.

I have seen a rise in Clowns on PS4 in my region when I play survivor. But my heart breaks for them because they’re just terrible and make the mistakes I see every Clown make: mindlessly throwing bottles with most landing just behind survivors.

They get slaughtered and I try to send something encouraging after the match.

And yes, genuine RQ. I guess it’s because they’re simply not used to going against a Clown that’s anything but a total joke. They don’t like going down so quickly before they’ve even managed 1 lap of their favourite loops.

I think I’ve gone against 2 since the rework. One was terrible and the other wasn’t bad, but he wasn’t that good either. I think my teammates were just worse than he was, so it made him look better lol. I’ve always been a fan of the Clown, but I think he’s one of those killers you either get or you don’t. And I like to think I play him well as I can win most matches as him. I like that he isn’t that popular as I don’t think most people really know how to play against him, which works in my favour.

His ability to end chases is just so fun. Plus he has some of the best cosmetics in the game which doesn’t hurt.

For me it varies for how long the lobbies are. Sometimes survivor lobbies take some time, sometimes they're instant.

The game runs okay on Switch. Compared to PS4 the skill checks are way harder to hit, and there seems to be a slight delay from input to action. Like on PS4 I can regularly hit Great Skill checks no problem, but on Switch I can barely hit Good Skill Checks sometimes. Frame Rate is also bad I think, but I'm frame rate blind so I can't really tell.

The wait times used to be terrible for me at one point, but they don’t seem as bad anymore. They are definitely a lot better on the killer side of things. It’s virtually instant. But I suppose less people play killer, so it makes sense. And I think I’ll give the game a miss on the Switch then lol. It’s not like I need to get it, as I play it on PS4. I wanted the Switch for other games.

I get survivors RQ against my Clown on a regular basis. They don’t like having their favourite loops shut down.

How can you rage quit against him? I love facing him as it doesn’t happen very often. He’s currently the least played killer on PS4. I was hoping after his buff we’d see a rise in Clowns. But nope. :(

I am not saying it is not a dirtbag move. I'm just saying it is part of the game.

Same with tunneling ebonies, face camping LF, DS locker BS, Heal Tech at the gates and all that BS.

It is the game we love, why whine about it? Search and destroy, is it harder, sure.

But you can find them and kill them.

Taking the game hostage is a bannable offence. Just like how a Wraith player who constantly stays cloaked the entire match to depip can be banned. Just because it can be done in the game doesn’t mean it isn’t against the rules. Camping and tunnelling, although annoying, aren’t against the rules. This is all public knowledge and it isn’t simply my opinion. The Devs have spoken about this stuff before.

  • @mrpieseller said:

So, this will probably come up, so I'm just gonna mention it now to get it over with. So castiel is an angel, and some people may be confused as to how a person like Susie could hurt him, and/or kill him. With this we have to look at the entity and castiel. Yes he is powerful, but he's nowhere NEAR close to as powerful as the entity. In the show, it only took an arch-angel, or a half human half demon kid to render him absolutely useless. So the entity, with how powerful it is, could easily nerf the crap out of castiel, and make him as powerful as any other survivor in the realm. Honestly i could see them explaining it, as the entity basically turning castiels Grace into a human soul or something, so he's basically just a human like he has been in the past. I would certainly but castiel as a legendary skin, and any other legendary skins they would dish out as well.

I don’t think it’s a case of people becoming weaker when they are taken by the entity, they just realise that fighting back doesn’t do anything. As the killers can’t be killed and they’re doomed to keep repeating trials. After all, death is not an escape lol. So I don’t think somebody like Castiel would need to have his powers removed, as I like to think he would initially try to fight back but when he realises it does nothing, he simply tries to escape the killers instead. That’s why Buffy would also work as a survivor. There’s no point fighting something you can’t kill. It’s just a waste of energy.

I know about the crows, it was not the whole basis of my argument, just a small part of it.

I agree that this game play sucks, but so do other tactics used by both sides. As the killer I play with an offensive mind set at all times.

Perhaps finding higher ground and just going into stalk may have eventually highlighted 1 of them.

The thing is, it’s not really a tactic. It would be classed as taking the game hostage. As the game will only end when the survivors are dead or the generators are all fixed. As a killer, you’re trapped in the game. The Devs have already said this isn’t allowed. It’s not always as simple as ‘finding higher ground’ - if a stealthy player with Urban Evasion and Spine Chill don’t want to be found, then they won’t be. You shouldn’t have to walk around for over 10 mins hoping you bump into them. It’s ridiculous. I’ll admit it’s a rarity and it doesn’t happen often but the point is, it shouldn’t be able to happen at all.

  • @Clevite said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1459200#Comment_1459200

By trying. It happens, you find higher ground, scan the map. Look for crows, gens being worked on..etc

Trapper, traps. Demo, use shred, find people near portals. Bottles, shock, cloak, I mean the list goes on nd on.

What else is there to do, walk in a circle for 30 minutes?

In my match no gens were being worked on and that was the issue. It was 2 Blendette’s hiding in bushes and waiting for the other to die. I was playing as Michael so I didn’t have anything else to do. It went on for 10 mins until I eventually heard some grass move and found one of them. Survivors shouldn’t be able to make you spend 10 mins trying to find them because they’re basically a cloaked Wraith on certain maps and I shouldn’t have to DC and lose BP because people just want to hide instead of trying to do a generator. It’s boring. Also, crows don’t fly away when you crawl past them with Urban Evasion.

  • @Clevite said:

Go hunt them down and kill em, or take the loss.

How exactly can he hunt people down when they’re just hiding? It’s easier said than done. When it happened to me it was 2 Blendette’s on Yamaoka Estate, both running Spine Chill and Urban Evasion.

  • LMAO I love how you attached a photo of their perks below. I had a Feng recently DC when I was Michael and I think it’s because I slugged her. She purposely ran up to me after she was unhooked as she had that 60 second invincibly cloak on. So I just downed her and walked off. I laughed so hard when I saw the plug above her name. 😂

  • I’ve had some long games before but this is something else lol. The Devs should implement something to stop this. Maybe have everybody’s auras show if they don’t do anything for a long period of time? Because unless you’re playing as Doctor, you’re screwed.

No killer but noobs can be mindlessly ran around. The point in chases is using map tiles the best of your skill and in 50/50 situations, try and outplay the other side and as killer try and create as much of these situations as possible. Against certain killers like Billy/Nurse the use of these tiles can be sightly or completelly different but still fun. Freddy can be looped just like anyone else hes not boring at all. But Spirit, she has no counter nor optimal way to run her around. Honestly, I can’t wait till they gut her finaly.

I don’t play as Spirit but for me the only thing they really need to change with her is the way she phases. As it’s no different from her just standing there idle and that is problematic. People call it a mind game, but it really isn’t. Just standing there and hoping somebody vaults into you because there’s no way to tell if you’re phasing or not is not a mind game lol. Other then that, I think she works as intended. She would still be a strong killer with that minor change and it means that killers will actually have to think about how / when to use her power.

  • @EmpireWinner said:

so trying a free attempt to escape before being unhooked is now rude? Snowflake

I don’t get offended, personally. But it can be a little annoying when you travel from across the map to get the unhook and they yeet right in front of you. Because you’ve wasted time going over to them and you didn’t even get any BP for it. I only attempt to escape when I know nobody will get to me before struggle.

Never said every Survivor runs second chance perks, though most do.

Both sides have things that are boring to run against. Rather than complaining about it, people need to learn to out play each other or make builds that make it fun to counter the boring characters.

The only reason Spirit and Freddy are boring is because they’re harder to go against and can’t mindlessly run loops over and over. You have to actually change your play style, which most don’t want to do.

The funny thing was, most of my downs were just generic M1 downs. I wasn’t actually using my bottles. Some survivors just can’t put up a chase and if you happen to discover which bush they’re hiding in, it’s game over. I initially felt bad as I thought they were going to be brown-yellow rank survivors with the way they played. But nope, just the typical boosted ones.

  • I play on PS4 in Europe and I am finding both survivor and killer games really fast. It’s been a while since I had any issues looking for games. I assumed it was like this for everyone?

He Is op... Maybe they should make him slower when throwing bottles?

  • It’s not new, but with that said I’m seeing it happen more often. In almost every survivor game and it wasn’t like that before. Has a streamer started doing it recently or something? As I know a lot of people like to copy stuff like that. It happened to me last week, I had Kindred and saw nobody else was going for the save so I left my gen and went across the map and then they yeeted right in front of me. 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

you were not even running the exhaustion add on...

######### is that guy on about?!

They kept being really obvious about having SB. Purposely walking or crouch walking when I was heading towards them. So I would pre-throw a bottle in front of them so they wouldn’t get the full use out of it. And that’s what they messaged me for. Poor Meg. Gone but not forgotten.

Oh God! clown urgently needs a nerf!

I propose that he cannot throw bottles

I’ve received some entitled messages before but imagine complaining that the killer stopped you from using SB. I was laughing so much when I read it.

To be fair, he can be busted in chases which makes him annoying and boring to go against. His lack of other abilities makes him awful. But imagne him as Freddy with bottles.

But can you honestly sit there and call CLOWN who’s probably the most underused killer in the game OP? That’s just a whole other level of stupid.

Imagine being angry at a clown, lol

I was dying at the fact they’re salty that I kept denying their SB by throwing bottles at them. Why WOULDN’T I do that? 😂🤦🏻‍♂️

  • You could get that person banned if you contacted BHVR. There’s an actual complaints form you can fill out. If somebody can provide it in this thread, I’d suggest using it.

As I’ve said multiple times, we’ll never escape this type of behaviour. A lot of people are attention seeking tryhards and by playing online you just put yourself at risk of coming across them. The only thing you can do is don’t let them get to you. It’s literally just words on a screen at the end of the day. Words can only hurt you if you allow them too.
