Yeah... any Hex perk feels really too risky to run. They never, ever last.

I don't doubt that you had a game where you earned 140k bp. But you didn't do it w/o extra help from bonus party streamers or dailies. I've broken 200k in one game. But that was with 4-5 party streamers. W/o outside help the absolute most a player can earn in one game during a double bloodpoint event is 128,000. If you really wanted to be a smarty pants about it, you could use a 3yr anniversary cake that gives 103% bonus instead of a cake/pudding/streamer. That would give you an extra 960 bloodpoints.
oh. Yeah I had a 160k game, but with 4 anniversary cakes. Nevermind!

Impossible w/o multiple party streamers. 32k base max. BBQ/WGLF another 32. Event another 32. Cake/Pudding/Streamer another 32. Without other players bringing party streamers the maximum a player can earn in a game is 128,000 blood points. And that is only possible if the player is using an offering that gives double bloodpoints.
pretty sure I have a screenshot of a perfect trapper game with a bunch of BP buffs and got 140k. I can try looking for it.

Ruin gets broken before 2 minutes have passed in red ranks or survivors know how to land all the perfect skillchecks without sweating at all.
CI blocks 3 gens for 2 minutes (more than the time an experienced SWF lobby take to break Ruin) and leaves 4 gens next to each other (easy patrol) available for fixing
Combine with reading perks like Discordance and BBQ and you'll practically own the team, place traps or portals (Trapper, Freddy, Hag or Demogorgon) whyle patrolling.
Any thoughts? I repeat, this applies for high ranks only
Nah, it's definitely better than Ruin. It allows to chase someone early and force people in an area where gens need to be worked on, or you can just set up. Idc, ruin rarely lasts even a minute and it's just so much better. I love the idea of Corrupt intervention, PGTW, Devour Hope/BBQ or even Enduring and Bamboozle on Demogorgon

Good. Snowballing in endgame is a legitimate strategy 😂

@TheGorgon Let me rephrase it. What I'm asking is whether griefing by excluding a single player from farming and intentionally denying bloodpoints is reportable.
A killer and survivor can do whatever he/she wants. That makes it "excluding" is not reportable in the least, because the killer is doing what he actually is suppose to do. Denying bloodpoints isn't either because no one owes you anything and after reading through the rules, it says nothing about it.

I've gotten the exact opposite. I insta-Q almost always.

If you ended a chase every 25 seconds, you’re looking at a bit more than 300 seconds if you 3 hook everyone.
This means your ideal Killer game is 5 minutes.
Why are you okay with a game ending in 5 minutes if you sacrifice everyone? Is it okay if the survivors finish all gens within 5 minutes and escape? I am very curious.
Nah, I'm just doing an equivalent to be able to keep pressure on the map and in comparison, an ideal. If the survivors are competent enough when you get back, that gen should be nearly done. Yes, I'm fine with a game lasting that long for either sides, if a game ends in 5 minutes, it means I played really poorly as a killer, and if I 4k as a killer, it means I did very well.
You should also take into account which killers can hit the 300 seconds mark. I'm not including the time that it takes to hit a gen and look for a survivor, which should be an extra 15-30 seconds. On average, games last 7 minutes for me.
-
Decisive is amazing, probably the best or just about the best survivor perk.
Head On is pretty good, nothing compared to all the other exhaustion perks, but it's ok.
Quick & Quiet has recently been picked up by many and I can assure you, it's a good perk.
Inner Strength is going to become meta because it awards survivors for cleansing totems and getting a health state.
-
@Mookywolf said:
how new are you to playing killer? just curious
Been playing killer seriously while leaving survivors by the side for 4 months. Before though, I had played killer often. I'm currently at rank 6 as killers and can't seem to even get a 2k.

Ok.
I believe you, but the way we remember things aren't necessarily how they actually happen.
When I crunch the numbers at the end(which is what I intend to do) I'll take what you said into account, and also compare, to see how it stacks with the numbers
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/712702#Comment_712702
Fair enough. I'll take all I can get 😁
No, I'm being dead serious. I don't 3k nearly ever without Ruin, and if I did, it was because the survivors threw the game and felt bad for me, or they just tryharded to oblivion and 1 or 2 made a mistake. Ruin on average saves me at least, 100 seconds. Normally for me, that's enough for 3 hooks, equivalent to a full kill (which 3 hooks on 3 different survivors).
-
Bamboozle does wonders on him being able to hit a lunge attack. It's really good on him
Devour Hope proves to be dominant and atrocious to play against since he has very good totem defense.
Surge is very good on him, because it can take him a while to get one down and also hit and damage a generator. It proves useful
Ruin. The killer dominant perk equivalent to DS for the survivor side.
-
I only tunnel if the game has gone so fast and so bad for me, I at least want a kill. If everyone has been on hook twice or even once, I don't tunnel, only if it gets ridiculously bad. DS doesn't hurt me, I use it while I'm playing survivor often, why would I hate it? I would just become the biggest hypocrite.
The stun might be a little outrageous playing on the killers side, but it's your and my fault that we decided to not look at the clock and get a good feel when it went down.
-
I'm just going to answer this because 10 games takes 2 hours and... I'm not for it. Every time I run Ruin, it's cleaned in high ranks in a minute or so, if not, I'm guarding it really well.
Results normally? 3k-4k.
I've started playing killers like GhostFace without ruin, it's atrocious. You need time to end a chase, and ideally, a chase should and needs to be over and on the hook in no more than 25 seconds. Fortunately for survivors, they have walls, pallets so close to each other that make it a little harder to actually hit that 25 second mark. That's why Nurse is too good, she not only can avoid mechanics that are used to deal with killers, but she can consistently, no matter the circumstance, hit that 25 second mark and get on another survivor immediately.
Just like competent SWF's. They don't struggle to combat Ruin if they are working hard to all escape or at least one. Ruin isn't invincible for the entire game, and optimal survivors don't really find it much of a nuisance, more of an annoyance.
Results normally? 2k.
-
It's difficult to perform without Ruin in high ranks. No matter the circumstance, even with ruin... competent survivors are going to finish it. It's not only the perks, but the players who surround the game, many of which are smart and knowledgable about the time and space they have to finish a gen.

Yeah, that's with a perk and add-on to make him stronger. Why can't his power carry some weight? It makes him seem dull and counter-productive to play to win at high ranks. Plus, using a perk like Stridor (which is a good perk) ,but there are many better options.

A huge monster flying into a pallet causing it to break makes sense.
A petite guy or girl climbing on top if it does not.
Looks, sounds and is ridiculous, but you need to remember this is fiction and it's a video game. Many games just do it for gameplay reasons, not because of logic. Heck! Survivors should either not be able to run or even move for a while until it heals because they jumped from such a height.
-
Nah, Bubba sucks. If it's @GrootDude , he's absolutely the best and will always be at LeatherFace. Other than that though, even at green ranks... you will be having a difficult time with him. Love the design, love the franchise, but he doesn't work right now in the majority of players mind. Of course, any killer can become really good if enough time and input is injected into them, but...
I just don't see why Bubba is even considered as "stronger". Other than that, I agree with the tier list. Why has Amanda been shooting up in the rankings over Myers though? Did she get a buff I'm unaware about?

Look. They've said that they've tried to get Pennywise in the past, and even without a sewer map, I would thoroughly enjoy Pennywise as a character. It's a joke if people really don't think it's coming, they probably have been making it for a while now.

Shack is one of the more mindgameable tiles. There's loads of LOS blockers and you can double vault to catch them out of position. Even if they manage to get back to the window in time, they'll either be forced to take a hit or use the pallet.
I would rather take a down than throwing the god pallet early game. I disagree. M1 killers don't have an advantage, except the Trapper where he can cut off loops. You can just sit and wait until he finally realizes he can't hit you. If a survivor is optimal enough, they won't fall and will predict the red stain, too bad it doesn't happen often though.

Thanks for your input! However, I highly doubt it will “never be a threat”. Judging by your name, you’re a Stranger Things fan and that’s what attracted you most to DBD. Hide or Die has a chance to be a threat, so I wouldn’t say I’d doubt it.
I am a vivid Stranger Things fan, but I first decided to watch Stranger Things waayyyy after I started playing DBD in 17. In the 2 and a half years I've been playing this game, I'm pretty certain nothing will come close to it, not even Hide or Die. Don't get me wrong though, I was super excited when they announced Stranger Things.

I’ve seen numerous threads on this discussion but all have seemed to cease late-August. I just thought; “Why not readdress it?”, “Like, what’s there to lose?”. So, I did.
THE BASICS
From what I know, Friday the 13th was the first Asymmetrical Horror Game released on public builds. Then on there, we saw games like this here, Dead By Daylight, release too. Inspiration is the least of our concerns, however. We’re talking about playability here.
Dead By Daylight released publicly on the 14th of June, 2016, under Behaviour Interactive. It was labelled, and still is to this day, “An asymmetric Horror game”, with the motto “Death is not an escape”. It attracted a wide audience from all corners of the horror community, a huge chunk being a cult following of Friday the 13th. The game swelled into a monolith in the following years. By 2018, it was at a good point. Well, to say the least, that is. It was doing “well”, so to speak. There didn’t seem to be any significant threat or one imminent, either, for that matter.
But, enough of that... I shouldn’t be giving background information on a forum dedicated to that very fact. I’m here to talk about HIDE OR DIE vs DEAD BY DAYLIGHT. So, the basics... Hide or Die poses a threat to DBD. There you go. Bye now.
EXPLANATION
Now, don’t get me wrong - I’m loyal to DBD. I’m straight-faced loyal. And I’ve never played HOD, either. So I’m not one to reference here. Take my word with a grain of salt. When DBD mentions “Asymmetric horror” I instantly think that Friday feel. Ya know, lay down, popcorn, scary-Friday-night slasher kinda thing. That vibe. And, DBD fulfilled that for me for, let’s say, 2 years? My first game on a test build on PC that my friend let me try was crazy.
I loved it so much. But, that magic fled me in the space of 2 years. Which is quite good, I imagine, but that’s not it... even if I were to move in from this game, maybe one day I’d wish to return, only to see it had been taken out by some copycat million-dollar budget corporate arse company that sought to steal that magic from DBD - but no. What am I thinking. I sound mental. I’m probably just making a big deal out of nothing. But I don’t care, I’m addressing this because I’m interested in HOD. And DBD, both equally the same.
HOD is a wide scale asymmetric Horror slasher game, similar to DBD yes, but the sheer expanse of the maps and playable ground is INSANE. I’ve also watched a great amount of gameplay, BETA testings, and countless videos on it. It’s safe to say that the game is AMAZING. But, so is DBD.
But DBD Doesn’t boast the same mechanics, the same features... it sorta lacks some of those vibes I mentioned, ya know? Like c’mon, literally just check out the picture I attached on this thread. It’s great. I know it’s just art for the game, but it’s certainly much more Friday-night slasher asymmetric Horror to me than DBD is.
But I don’t know, is it just me?
YOUR TURN
Now, feel free to go check it out yourself. I’m attaching several more pictures below just in case you wanna quickly see em and go. And please, no toxicity on this forum, just honest opinions and your own personal beliefs on the matter. Pick a side, DBD or HOD! Or, be like me, and join both. :)
Thank you all for taking the time to (hopefully) read this discussion. Now it’s your turn.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/530/ASVG805AM245.jpeg
No. With DBD just getting Stranger Things, they have the biggest IP in their expertise currently. Hide or die is not a threat and I highly doubt it will ever be a threat.
-
The survivors have the authority over the Plague. They can make the game difficult and irritating for themselves, or they can make the Plague's life impossible, hence why she's considered weak because many people know not to cleanse.
-
It's annoying, but I would be a hypocrite being biased because I also use ruin always when I play killer. It's boring to play against, but if you don't use it, chances are the game will last substantially less if you don't play a killer with good or really good map pressure and can end chases quickly.
-
@altruistic said:
If you played as much as you complained here, maybe you wouldn’t have such a bad time.
I've only complained twice over a controversial topic around the community. Give me a break. I well enough can acknowledge that something has to be done to make the game more competitive in the least. Good joke though, need to admit the burn was good.
@GregTheEgg said:
Imagine complaining windows exist lol
I guess you didn't read one of my replies that I directly said that it's ridiculous that they're too many close to each other. Not that they exist, but how close they can spawn to each other. I'm not referring to meat tree, T-Walls and L-walls.
@MegsAreEvil said:
How about GitGud? Youre only complaining about non-issues. How often do you see games ending under 3 minutes? Well if i would say, that only happens when there is a god nurse involved. Genrush isnt real. Its just your lack of skill. Even "bad" killers are able to deal enough pressure on ordinary survivors. there arent even a handful SWF-Squads which play optimal. Thats just your imagination.
If you couldn't guess already, I exaggerated games being 2m and 30 seconds long, but that it is a possibility, not that it inherently lasts that long. Yes, I might not be the greatest or near "good" at killer. No it isn't my imagination in higher ranks, you'd be boosted if you don't play optimally and tryhard in high ranks.
I never really came forward with the idea of Gen-rushing as the main issue, but that survivors can have many things so close to each other that it can be outrageous. Of course you should be on a survivor for no more than 25 seconds, but if you tunnel vision one or they waste pallets, a chase can last a while. My point is that they have too many tools at their disposal to be able to win a chase with ease.
Stop trying to act like it hasn't happened to you. These issues don't inherently mean I didn't do well, but the pace of the game just seems too advantageous for survivors. That's my point, it's not limiting me from playing well versus optimal survivors, it just baffles me that survivors have great authority over a game. Stop trying to insult someone's skill when it's obviously happened to everybody.
For the people misunderstanding, I'm not directing something directly to an issue, but the large margin of issues. Thinking that gen-rushing is really a big issue is silly, thinking if something else being a huge issue is silly also, they all make up a big margin of complaints and unfun experiences in-game.

Tbh i'd actually prefer if a Stephen King dlc was next.
Pennywise or whatever i don't think DbD has a single character that originated from a book.
What if they contact King directly and do their own Pennywise collaborating with him like with Ghost Face and Fun World?
A bhvr exclusive version of Pennywise would be crazy
They've mentioned in the past that they've tried getting Pennywise and everyone in BHVR re-following Stephen King once IT: Chapter 2 came out and the DLC is probably set for December, right when Blu-ray IT 2 comes out, it seems really likely we will be getting the terrifying clown this winter.

That's not the point I'm trying to make: Not that they're bad per say, but that they all can spawn so close to each other that the issue in my mind is loop2loop, every time a pallet is broken.

I haven't experienced the lag every game, but I know what you're talking about. I had a game earlier on Forest, got the 4k after 2 minutes into the match, but it was nearly impossible to track the scratch marks with all the fps drops occurring.

I don’t think so, playing injured is a risk vs reward kinda thing. You stay on one shot but don’t need to waste time healing.
The only killers imo that are worth not healing as are: Plague and 1 shot intensive killers. Other than that, I disagree. You should always heal if someone cannot threaten the team with an insta-down. It's risk vs. reward, definitely, but many people don't heal over the slim cast that has one-shots.

@lynelmane said:
I've seen this SO much lately, people saying that spirit needs a nerf to her ability. She doesn't, actually.
The only thing I agree with is that prayer beads needs to be changed to pink rarity. Otherwise, she is fine.
Spirit is a different killer than the rest, and people don't like that. Survivors want to be able to escape 100% of the time, which is not realistic. Nerfing a killer because she's not easy to counter is quite childish imo.
Spirit has a visual queue for when she is phasing. Her hair stands up. She has a kind of idle animation for standing still, and when she phases the animation resets and the hair stands up quickly. Some also say that the glass on her body gets shiny. If you pay attention, you'll know when she is phasing.
The best counters to spirit are Iron Will and being immersed. If you hear her phasing, get off your gen so she cant grab you. If you're in her TR, wait until she's gone before working on the gen unless she's in chase.
Her mindgaming isn't as easy as people think. It doesn't work a lot of the time and survivors just get away because i've wasted time standing there, hoping they mess up and walk towards me. If you're being chased by a spirit, DO NOT stop at a pallet to heal yourself. She can phase around it and hit you. Just keep running until she's got you or you've lost her. Unless she wants to tunnel you, just loop her until she gets mad and leaves.
If she's phasing right in front of you, walk. Take a sharp turn and walk in another direction, behind cover if you can find some.
You can call me a whiny killer main if you want, but please try to learn before giving up and wanting to take the easy way out by calling for a nerf.
I don't know where and who you're reading from, but I've never heard "Nerf Spirit base kit" in my entire time on the forums and in-game. I've heard "nerf prayer beads" and I agree with it.
-
The archives are hopefully coming with the mid-chapter patch and honestly, that will be the thing that evolves daily challenges and rewards. It's already in the works and it's soonTM
-
Keep as is, this would make the community want every killer to have the same option if they've been reworked or significantly changed. I'd rather have the developers prioritize over bugs, balance and new content. It's a no from me.
-
I disagree on Pig being strong, Legion being solid and Wraith being higher than Trapper: Furthermore, instead of the Pig, I'd say Demo could take that spot.
-
The survivors should definitely have darker vision... Killers shouldn't because they are at hands of the entity, the entity can probably do whatever it wants for each role.

This makes no sense, and it's a big reason why I don't consider it the best mori. Legion's or GhostFace's moris are my favorites. I'm not sure why people think it's such a good mori when it looks pretty average to me, considering their heads are still attached, and have no teeth marks in them.
Well, there is a big difference between "cutting a finger" and "decapitation" and decapitation shows much more blood and gore than you think. Either way, I'm all for it because it is limited by country rules and such. Mortal Kombat X doesn't seem to have issues, but...
-
Underrated. Mew's Guts, Eleven's Soda, Unknown Egg, Deer Lung, Lichen, Rotten Pumpkin are all really good add-ons that much of the community still hasn't come to realization. I honestly think that these will be the defining factors in which he plays high tier, or mid tier. The add-on boosts really do increase how oppressive he can get.

Aggressive? I'm questioning his post because I was confused before he told me. There was nothing else than a simple discussion, he was nice about it, I was how I am with it. I wasn't trying to be disrespectful or anything, and if he felt so, I'm sorry. I think you're confused on the tone of my post. Anyways, Pennywise would be fun and cool to add, that's about it.
