It's a snowball perk with a meta game of keeping the Obsession distracted from helping put their teammates. The healing buff can be worked around if you have a power or perk that exposes or breaks them.
Can also dynamically shift around if you're using Nemesis or get DS'd which frees you up to start hooking that person that used to have immunity.
-
Let's apply Spirit's design to every other killer:
Trappers traps are now 100% invisible.
Wraith can uncloak instantly.
Billy is invisible while chainsaw dashing.
Clowns gas is invisible.
Myers is invisible while stalking.
Pig is invisible while beartrap is on.
Are these changes making you want to play survivor? Anyone? Why is it taking so long for a match? Hello? Where'd everyone go?

It is hilarious when you get BW to go off. I had a bad game as trapper on Oni's map. I got a few hooks but no deaths. They open the gates and I chase 2 out. I managed to down and hook 1 at like 40% time left. I allowed them to save him and I followed them without attacking. I guess they thought I was tunneling and waiting for BT to wear off. Then they got to the gate and realized they couldn't get out. Even in the end game chat they were like "That was awesome!" They weren't salty or anything. Why can't I get more survivors like that?
Another game I had as Pig, I killed 1 survivor already (apparently I left them slugged too long and the next down was an instant kill) and I got my second kill hooking someone in end game.
Well it was down to a Meg and a Claudette running towards the exit gates and they were confident enough to teabag several times before....not escaping. I downed the Meg instantly and the Claudette gave me a chase. Hooked her eventually but I probably should have nabbed the Meg first. She escaped just before I got to her when it wore off.
I think it was before the hatch can be closed thing and it was near Claudette so that might've been my reasoning. But that was another game where Blood Warden became a wild card.

Chases can last more than a minute. Especially with DS and BT.
You can also end a chase instantly when they're injured or with Noed when it's a cocky group of survivors teabagging at the exit. It's situational but when it hits, it hits hard.

I get crapped on sometimes by people when they ask why I am cleansing totems when I don’t use Inner Strength. It’s like, really? If that is the only reason people see in cleansing then it’s no wonder why we always seem to have to deal with NOED in the endgame. Can’t believe that I hear this from red and purple rankers, too.
We all know lit totems give more points. Pshh.
Why am I exposed?

One idea i liked was for it to regress the exit gates to remove the 99% meta.
Yeah but if you want to do anything with Blood Warden the gates have to be open, so doing a switcheroo is counter intuitive.
And even though it's situational, you can completely screw over someone's escape. Had a 1k snowball into 3k with Pig. Had no idea where the 4th was, but 2 and 3 were trying to make an exit and tried hiding in some lockers when they realized what happened. Got some savory hatemail that day.
-
I dunno. It's a full minute which is a lot of time when the entire world is crumbling around you.
Maybe it starts the end game collapse immediately before any gates are open? But then they'd definitely know you have Blood Warden.
-
They'll do it to any and every killer. Nurse just has a lot more exploitable phases where she can't do anything.
-
A survivor running in a straight line. Damn resource hogging cardio!
-
What like a horror archetype?
We don't have a killer that is a horde of things yet. Like a man covered in rats or something.
-
I feel like the other survivors get offended when I locker heal after a hook.

Myers isn't a fun killer to play against, he's op like Nurse, Spirit, Freddy. Only fun killers like Wraith are worth sticking around for
Translation: Killers I can bully.
-
I know it's a killer perk, but do all your suggestions have to be so sadistic?
How about this: Two basic attacks and if a gen is over 85% progression, it stops for 8/10/12 seconds and glows yellow.
It's a gen protection perk so it should give you some leeway to run off to protect it.
-
How is turning either left or right a huge advantage only PC players get?
-
It's because they force you into an interaction. People are just fine never seeing the killer once. That doesn't happen with Doc or Legion. They will find you eventually.
-
Videogames are like any vice or hobby. They're not the root cause but do enable the behavior. It could be like painting, or it could be like alcohol. You're not suddenly a violent monster because you have had a few too many. That's all you at your core. You're the monster.
So yeah, playing killer won't make you a murderer. And survivor won't make you Bear Grylls. They're far too black and white. Doesn't explore the full spectrum of misanthropy. Although players will try to wring that out with their out of game interactions.
I try not to take it personally anymore. Constant screaming has given me a headache that doesn't go away anymore.

No and others are able to read and understand mine just fine.
Please don't make light of strokes.
Well either way BT doesn't protect the unhooker so if they unhook in your face, punish them for it. Where's the conflict in having someone offer themselves up as a sacrifice?
-
The issue is the safety when you learn certain setups. They'll run straight back to the strongest loop at the first sign of trouble.
Then there's those stupid safe pallets that's just a circle with a pallet in the middle that you can see over. No mind game there.
If loops degraded over time like what breakable walls were supposed to do, it'd be more exciting.

I am having a hard time even understanding what your trying to say as your comment seems to be talking to three different people but you only quoted me.
Anyways none of that really seems to address any issues brought up by anyone so I am even more confused as what does trying to attack the unhooker have anything to do with being body blocked by the BT person making attacking the unhooker impossible unless your nurse/spirit?
Wat? Attacking the unhooker while being bodyblocked by the BT person who's supposed to be unhooking makes attacking the unhooker (the guy unhooking) impossible to attack...
I'm reading that right?
You having a stroke sir?

Ya you mean status effects that are very restrictive in their use(some being entirely reliant on survivors actions to even inflict), not on most killers, and counting out 20 seconds in a game as chaotic as DbD is easier said then done.
It all hinges on your Terror Radius being there or not. If it's there, you suffer the effects. Not, then you don't.
And as someone already said, attacking the unhooker is usually the better solution in close quarters. You get a hook trade or grab in best case scenario. Worse you slap the hook, and they both get away scott free.
There's also the less straight forward approach where the unhooker gets stricken with Make Your Choice but I'm assuming this is some sort of exit gates are open scenario and killer is desperately trying to secure a single paltry kill. In which case, you massively already [BAD WORD] up the entire match.

Thanks everyone. It will take a while for me to figure him out. I main Legion, so this is completely different.
They play somewhat similarly in my experience in that first hits are important, and so is the following chase. Also both are rated very low by the community from their difficulty. But with the right perks, they're a handful.
Though a major disadvantage Wraith has is he doesn't have a secondary action to injure the obsession with so Stbfl stacks would disappear if you choose to engage them. I usually try to keep the obsession injured to hide the fact I'm using Obsession perks.
-
Borrowed Time has so many counters now. They introduced TWO status effects to completely counter it, and there's still the timer you could exploit. Just wait 20 seconds and hit.
And yeah, Freddy avatar. Lmao.

You know you can deny his power permanently if you just play it safe and drop the pallet early right? He needs at least 1 blood orb/hit to activate his power even with 98% passive charge. He's extremely strong in his power because he has to be.
He's traplesss trapper if you play conservatively.
That works until you realize he's using an anti-loop/pallet build. Now you've got deadzones everywhere and a raging monster tearing through the level.
-
I don't remember my first perfect. All I know is THERE WERE NO SURVIVORS.
-
His major weakness is chasing one person too long. If you don't have anti-loop, or anti-pallet, it becomes a slog chasing one person. That's when all the gens start to pop. So consider that a cardinal sin. You can try to fake them out by cloaking then standing still ( complete invisibility) to see if they get themselves into a better position. Otherwise abandon chase to patrol gens.
His add-ons are all useful in some way except for the uncloak speed ones (horrendously slow even stacked) and The Beast which is for novelty builds anyways.
Bone Clapper can be uses to fake out survivors while traveling between objectives. Might get a slip up if they think you're nearby. And if you do it often enough, they'll let their guard down. Could be paired with ghost to make them even more paranoid.
Silent bell + All Seeing (both versions) can be a powerful gen defense tool. Or either one paired with the ghost can make an effective ambush build. Just need to uncloak sooner if not using it with Silent Bell.
Shadow Dance + The Serpent can be useful for aggresively destroying pallets or kicking gens then going straight back into attack mode. Pair with complimentary perks like Brutal Strength or Bamboozle.
I plan on P3'ing him after getting rid of all the anniversary cakes I have on him (30+) but he has so many potential builds.
Ps: Distressing is a funny perk to put on him too. Massive TR that just disappears.

Oh, that last part was directed towards my teammates. Just venting.
I've had an interesting time with the challenges myself.
-
At max tokens it can mess you up and steal your focus away from every other task. It's not a weak perk.
I have to stare at my screen to make sure a skill check doesn't randomly show up. Having the sound notification is a huge boon and taking that away just throws everything into chaos. Gen explosions and people ripping open wounds everywhere.

HAHAHA good luck. They love their butt dances and watching your head explode with an active bear trap on it. Or swarming a hook you're being camped on to do absolutely nothing useful.
JUST LEAVE
-
Camaraderie technically is supposed to punish this but requires a rando to run up then run away to do gens. So it ends up being useless.
-
I'm still chewing through the killer ones. It's like survivors want to live or something. Smh.
-
I think the props and report funcions should be separate. And extensively Props should get renamed Reputation and have extended phrases and behaviors.
Sometimes I just wanna call someone out for being a [Bad Word] instead of convincing myself they were hacking. And there's 4 negative reviews right next to a thumbs up.

If i remember right, unrelenting and stbftl are amazing on her, because attack speed dictates how fast you teleport to phantasm. Also, when phantasm is triggered, you should rotate camera into direction of it, before teleporting as it will make you teleport there even faster.
Stbfl is great on everyone, though I didn't know it dictated teleport speed. Is that why there seems to be a huge delay before moving? Always felt like lag or something because I see other Hag's teleport instantly. Do you try to attack after teleporting to get yourself out of the animation lock?

The issue isn't the code, it's the platform. The game clearly recognizes the code is legit.
Codes are sometimes case sensitive.

Just used it again. Entire world stood still for a second while the killer slowly crept up to my ear. He whispered "Toooooooxic" and then hung me by my balls.
I just wanna get my challenge done.

I had a suggestion once that I didn't post anywhere, but basically it was yet another snowy map, but instead the middle would be split by a hazardous cold river that if survivors and killers step in, they would get slowed down. Killers aren't (or at least shouldn't be) immortal, so they would also get status effects.
They could do so many cool environmental effects. Instead all the games resources are horded on a calculator that determines how best to put two hooks right across from each other. It's laaaaaame.
-
More game modes. Would introduce bots at the same time and integrate them into the game modes.
A killer that uses bots as part of their power: Mimic powers, zombies, etc.
Bots that die in one hit or are captured/caged, escort side quest. Either help them escape or they die at the hands of the killer.
I'd also introduce more environmental hazards and weather effects. Toxic waste drums would give status effects. Mud slows you down. Weather would flare up and you'd be forced to take shelter. Etc.
-
And it doesn't have to be the hex itself. Cleansing dulls is still damaging. Can't transfer Hexes if it has nothing to transfer to.
The safest way to deal with Undying is dull totems. That leaves 3 possible dulls if no other hex is in play that you need to cleanse before actively attacking the last two.
And you'd think with this Undying/Ruin meta that more people would run Repressed Alliance. If I'm solo'ing a gen it's an incredible boon if the killer runs into me.
-
@Orion said:
I don't run any of those perks and still manage to rid the map of totems. You don't need them if you know what you're doing and time it right.
By timing, you mean when someone else is being chased? Because that's when I do it. Typically I never see a killer abandon chase to defend their totems.
And playing with Undying, I usually never see the aura thing unless they're blatantly trying to do it in front of me.
-
Balancing disparity between skill levels would be separating the groups. They don't, so it's balanced towards the masses rather than the experts.
It's also why balancing everything towards the possibility of everyone being swf shouldn't be a thing. You'd crush literally everything until you actually run across a swf then get your ass handed to you. In fact it already happens that way.
But honestly, there needs to be more game modes to sort these things.

Most of the ones I seen in the reworked maps benefit the killer more by leaving them untouched. It cuts off normal routes.
-
Survivors can now find firearms inside chests. Each bullet stuns for 1 second each. There's handgun, six shooter, and AK-47.
