PH's ranged should spread torment trails and should only damage survivors that are already tormented.
Convince me otherwise.
-
It used to be 4 drops then automatic escape, but I think it's more around 6 now. Good change since you'd have to leave them slugged because of the guaranteed escape if you were carrying them too long and had to drop.

Not gonna lie, that was my favorite part of Hangman's Trick.
It was my guilty pleasure perk until they felt the need to nerf it. (and yes it was a nerf - it weren't from hard countering sabotage to being absolutely useless against it, instead becoming a mediocre tracking perk)
The random auras from people wandering too close to hooks makes it still viable imo.
-
Isn't that a Cam ######### site? Can't they be naked elsewhere? I like sex and violence on separate sides of my plate.
-
Basement hooks never break. I think I gave Meg a disease by making her share hooks.
But all in all it's at max 3 hooks you suddenly can't use anymore? Just makes it necessary to be more mindful of your surroundings. Don't cluster survivors you kill in the same spot. It's as simple as walking past the closest hook to use one off in the corner.

All survivors are the same, what is wrong with maining one of them? I am quite a humourless dimwit, so I don't know if this is sarcasm or not, please tell me if it is.
I have lots of bones so I'm a very humerus guy. Hex: Human and not a potato.
But seriously sticking to one killer is so seriously limiting. Variety is the spice of life.
And by bias I mean they apply their aspects to whatever other killer they may play. You need to mod certain killers very differently by playstyle. Working around their limitations and even using different perk combinations than a single meta catchall that's supposed in work in every situation can't possibly equate to.
I don't need BBQ on Doctor for example as finding survivors is easy and can be disabled from afar while Clown may have more urgent use of it to immediately find his next target.

I do think it should be a passive thing for survivors. I really hate how devs use perks to patch bad design issues. Same thing with gen related issues. I think ds should be revisited, but made a passive perk for survivors
It can't benefit them either. Typically survivors will hop right on a gen after being unhooked. Part of the reason DS is hated. They'll need to innately debuff action speeds to be supplementary to perks like Thanataphobia.
It'd strengthen the healing meta, but healing has always been a time waster.

So, playing a killer more than other killers makes you awful and highly biased? Damn.
Yup. Just like all those awful Dwight or Nea mains. Maining someone just unlocks something primal inside. Tribal and aggressive. Soon, individual thought disappears into the ether and you find yourself saying things like "Camping is a legit strategy".
-
Borrowed Time deactivates after 10 seconds and is completely defeated by oblivious and undetectable. It has counters.

There are lots of posts proposing better ideas to ds, to make it a good anti tunneling perk. Videos as well. I link you one i just saw in a thread here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VT0Ca-nnGo
Ok but games without it are tunnel hell. If it becomes THE anti-tunnel perk, then it becomes mandatory instead of just being meta.
-
Don't main anyone. Mains are awful people and highly biased. Work on P3'ing everyone gradually. That's what I've been doing and the variety keeps me engaged.
-
Hating DS is fine and all, but no one has offered a reasonable alternative for the purpose DS serves which is to not immediately get rehooked again after your first or second hook. You are extremely vulnerable after a hook state and can lead to instantly being taken out of the game. And without DS it is extremely exploitable.
Also ignored is the massive downside of only having one chance to stun the killer which can be missed and never recharges.
So let's say they fixed the gen issue.....how will they fix the people issue? 3 players is a hell of a lot easier to kill than 4. Camping and tunneling actually IS rewarding when not getting gen rushed.

To be fair Clown is underrated in my opinion. Maybe it´s because I have a good amount of hours on him and found a good build, maybe it´s because the good players tend to vastly underestimate him. Maybe both :P
Clown's issue is he doesn't have lasting cumulative effects from his gas. Once you're out of his gas, the effects dissipate. If they made his power more like Plague or Doctor he'd be much more imposing. I'm hoping that's what his upcoming changes will amount to.

Neat idea but you know how some people will react...I can already hear deafening screeching by some people if god forbid trapper got a 2 trap base capacity for example ;-)
Trapper is the best snowball killer in the game. How can you possibly escape EGC with no key and two Trapped doors? You can't. The dynamic here is weak early game, strong late.

After PH which killer do you want nerfed next
Spirit will soon be coming up for round 2
PH will get another nerf next year so you can use DS and BT on cages and to put the POTD cooldown back up
Nurse maybe needs longer cooldowns
Deathslinger is toast as soon as they find the time to destroy him
What about Demo? He can zone survivors.
Spirit gets rewarded for going afk. Will anyone be surprised by her nerf?
PH is barely getting touched. You can still tunnel to your hearts desire like the typical pos PH mains have always done.
Nurse is broken in every way. They should just make her be able to phase through walls with 110% base speed and be done with the teleport bs.
Deathslinger just needs his reeling speed adjusted. So far it's either a guaranteed hit or wait till it breaks so they get deep wounds. It needs more variables.
Demo is in a good spot. People complain about Demo? He needs a stealth buff though. Clomp clomp clomp.
-
It's balancing sir.
Spine Chill is way up there in the needs to be toned down with it's free info. Either needs to be Line of Sight or be activated by being inside the killers Terror Radius.
Adrenaline needs more conditions or be spaced out so it's useful mid-game. It's a huge middle finger to the killer at end game.
Slippery Meat needs a complete rework. Deliverance is a 100% unhook. Why would you even want Slippery Meat?
Flip Flop needs a sizable buff. So does Buckle Up. Relying on slugs is few and far between.
Object of Obsession should only show aura in last known position and be given a cooldown.
No Mither...no comment.
Vigil needs a big buff (but not to exhausted effects leave that ######### out).
I don't even know what luck does so buff Up the Ante I guess by making what it does clearer?
Buff Lucky Break. Like seriously, 1 use?
Iron Will should have a time limit inside the killers Terror Radius and recharge when it's outside it.
Nerf Plunderers ability to pull Skeleton keys out of every single chest.
Buff Premonition to give a brief on screen cue of when the killer has been detected. It's easily missable given how many downsides this perk already has.
Buff Red Herring to see gen explosion indicators.
That's all I can think of.
Edit: oh and deactivate DS after last gen gets done.
-
Just have it deactivate on EGC or after the last gen pops. You've had all game to not get tunneled.
Every instance except locker can be countered by slugging. And I'd rather eat a locker DS than get Head On'd.
-
Remember booping the snoot is unwanted physical contact, meaning sexual harassment. So murder the ######### outta them for violating your space.
It's only acceptable if you have them cornered. It's simple power dynamics.

Gaming in general has a stigma of being villified for corrupting the youth or whatever. But then again Dungeons and Dragons was too for being Satanic when it was just math nerds making up stories.
So really it's more about reputation and good taste/socially acceptable horror. That's why we don't see bikinis (as much as i'd like to see that) or truly despicable acts that cross the line.

Because it is impossible to kick a Gen in 45 seconds? Honestly, you Killer Mains act like if they changed PGTW to regress only 5% instead of 25%. 45 seconds is more than enough to kick a Gen with PGTW.
Careful, you might get on their bad side and they'll camp some potatos to make themselves feel better.

I would like them to upgrade it like some of the recent perk changes. It sounds good on paper but very poor in practice. You need to hit the obsession to activate it. The problem with that is you have to give up a current chase in the hopes that you might get the drop on someone else. If they could rework it so when we "hook" the obsession or something along those lines, it would improve.
Another perk that needs a full rework is furtive chase. What is the point of a smaller TR "during" a chase? They already know your there.
Furtive I've found useful for the Obsession musical chairs challenges but nothing much else. Could affect nearby Borrowed Time unhooks or survivors wanting tokens for their Stakeout so they can get that sweet sweet extra 1% on gen repairs?
More survivor perks need to be affected by Terror Radius now that I think about it. What else is there? Pebble? Because that's popular.
Edit: But the main effect is the eerily silent chases. It works on Ghostface since you don't exactly know when he used his power or not.
-
I usually blame the server. Inconsistencies everywhere all the time.
-
Curious, I've used the perk before but for some reason never with anything like Coulrophobia or Intimidating Presence. Do those perks also follow the obsession you hit? Anyone know?

These were older masks right? Since as far as I'm aware Payday 2 doesn't really get new support or content anymore (at least not the console versions).
I would've assumed the DbD masks in Payday were a way for Starbreeze Studios (owners of Payday's dev studio and former publishers of DbD) to promote Dead by Daylight at the time.
If Payday 3 ever emerges on the horizon, I could see this kind of crossover happening once again for DbD to try and promote a new Payday game. But Starbreeze is no longer a common denominator for Payday and DbD, so best I can say is maybe.
Definitely agree that some cosmetics in this vein would be welcome either way.
Payday 2 has been an absolute mess on consoles. First they abandoned all previous gens. Second they still haven't gotten the safehouse update. Then there was that scandal awhile back where the entire studio was raided by FBI or whatever.
And the same glitch with missing masks and the bag glitch still haven't been fixed as far as I know. Last I played, they dumped all the holiday heists in and called it a day.

As opposed to seeing every person cower in a bush while you get hooked? I'd love to see more bold plays playing with randoms.

but it abused by survivor I know no one likes to be tunneled but something need to be done fast my idea
make it 45 sec like pop or Healing, Repairing, Cleansing, sabotage, or searching chests deactivates DS but always have Obsession in game even if there no Obsession perks that way killer never knows.
Honestly the game needs a director AI that randomly gives boons or debuffs according to what's going on in the game.
Buuuut swf and good killers don't want to be punished for doing good, so what do I know?
And healing makes a lick of difference if the killer wants your biscuits. They either need to go loop god, or die. That's what makes DS the best and worst perk in the game. They need to implement base hooking rules if they want to mitigate abuse. Currently it's a free for all, so everyone is going to bring the perks that suit them.

no I think he hitting his head against a wall right now.
why should we just change perk (use something else)get over it
not like this nerf going do much but fact they doing it not change any broken survivor perk like DS.
Well no one wants to compromise. One side wants to win all the time. The other side wants to win all the time.
Then you get MAINS mixed in and it's a bunch of babies that want the other side nerfed with nothing given in return.
Balancing is give and take, and the DS issue can't be resolved easily. Without it you get tunneled to death. With it you get a few more seconds before getting tunneled to death. And it's broken when the whole team has it.
-

This isnt going to impact high mobility killers at all. It impacts the killers that actuslly need it, like clown or trapper.
Use different perks? The meta shouldn't be a monlith. Use Thanataphobia. That got a buff. Clown has a perk that slows healing. Perfect combo.

There's has been lots of rational responses to the change in regards to what other changes he needs and how this is going to effect him.
This thread is called RIP PH, there are already kneeslap reactions going on here.
-
Seems so. Someone would get hooked, they'd down another person, regress gen, hang second person, then have Pop all primed again.
It's either to create more urgency in using pop first, or is actually an indirect Freddy nerf since he's the main killer that benefits.

To be fair this has something to do with his Cage of Atonements being absolutely dogshit. Seriously. Sure they can sacrifice survivors, but when you use one it spawns the cage at the literal opposite side of the map from PH, it doesn't tell you where it is at all, and it consumes torment. From my experience playing him, the cages are useless unless you're dealing with a team of survivors that completely prevents you from using the hooks, in which case you can use them as a ######### way of progressing their sacrifice meter.
Due to the sheer distance involved using a Cage basically gives the survivor a guaranteed unhook, since its virtually impossible for PH to actually put pressure on the cage.
Because of this, I actually almost never use Cage of Atonement, instead I just let them keep torment on and play like other killers until after the 2nd hook when I get to execute them.
You must've missed the part where PH players would immediately tunnel a caged survivor out of the game. That's unsportsmanlike.
And it still counts as a hook state. The advantage is not dealing with picking up a survivor and carrying them to a hook. You see two people running around, you cage one person then immediately pick up chase with the second with no delay. That's the advantage.

So because you disagree with them you'd rather mock them than have a rational conversation about why you disagree. Got it.

Well you're in here basically just mocking people. If you're gonna make fun of people because of their opinions you'd think you'd at least have a reason to back it up.
It's a small rebalance. And mockery is the great equalizer. It's going to end up being nothing.

His other power just has extremely limited use. It's fact of existing also doesn't detract from any of the good points made here. You haven't provided counter arguments to anything.

And what would they be spamming exactly?
It's in the first half of the sentence guy. You pull a Huntress and wait to they're animation locked then down. Except he doesn't need to replenish his power.
Going by the countless threads I've seen, no one thinks he has any other power because they apparently never walk on his barbed wire things.
It's like a Demo that never uses portals. They don't see much use in using them which is a crying shame.
-
Ah so you recognize they have another half to their kit besides downing people with PotD. It'd be a shame if people only spammed one thing over and over to compensate for their own lack of skill wouldn't you agree?
-
Imagine a killer who can mori people being so flimsy that a small change like this kills them lmao.
-
Slippery Meat is still useless.
And Blood Pact is going to worsen the gen rush meta.
Otherwise they're fair changes.

You clearly didn't, nowhere did I even remotely state that you had to moonwalk. In fact, I pretty much said the opposite. Perhaps you shouldn't lie.
Still doesnt address the fact it activates without your knowledge. You need to look around to find people and are constantly put at a disadvantage for doing so.
-
So Compound 33 only hinders people now? It had the bonus effect of breaking pallets.
-
Moonwalking is a terrible counter to justify its existence. You're still giving them the advantage when you approach and aside from that, you have no idea if anyone is even over there. Imagine if Whispers worked the same way. Survivors, just don't be looked at by the killer LMAO.
Take one glance in their direction and they've already moved into position to loop you. It is obscenely good perk that people are trying to downplay its effectiveness.
Aside from that, it's sister perk Premonition is completely useless because Spine Chill already gives up too much information.
-
Watch the tome rewards end up getting recycled next year.
-
Last time I played in a swf, we got paired with rank 20 killers all night. Got some challenges done between the bouts of shame.
-
You're supposed to check faster, not pull them out faster. Different utilities. And it still exposes them.
Not like anyone cared about Iron Maiden before they fixed it so moot point.
