  • Pair it with Fixated or Urban Evasion if you want mobility without hampering yourself too much trying not to set it off.

  • I'm smack dab in the middle. There are far too many variables to determine a match. All second chance perks exist to counter an effective killer strategy, and vice versa. Effective killer perks counter survivor strategies. If I brought insta-down Clown into every match he'd be seen as either op, evenly matched, or weak as ######### depending on loadouts and map.

And since there's no way to know who is bringing what into where, as it's all shrouded in mystery till the actual game starts.

  • Sounds like twinking in Dark Souls where people wouldn't level up with end game weapons and gear. Resulted in bad sportsmanship and backstabs.

  • Killer can initiate the EGC if survivors are 99ing.

Lockers were underutilized before the change besides simply hiding. It was a clever gameplay addition to block aura use.

Keys already have a ruleset in place. Hatch doesn't appear till x amount of gens are done, or survivors are dead.

If they're going to nerf tunneling perks like DS or BT, there needs to be a rule in place that prevents tunneling abuse.

  • The game functions better with ambiguity. Kindred should never be baseline. Neither should a totem counter.

Sorry your teammates abandoned you but gens are the survivors only objective amirite?

@Tactless_Ninja Do you think Cannibal could get some tweaks and changes to his power, like The Doctor?

Dunno what they'd change. Maybe he can keep the chainsaw charged while vaulting a window? Or speed up the chainsaw but make each hit only deal one health state?

He has crazy good potential to down every survivor in a single hit. Just everyone knows how to play around him and he gets looped easy. Then there's the whole facecamp meme that ruined his reputation.

  • Sole Survivor because I have no idea when it's working unlike Distortion. Also involves your potato teammates getting deepsixed.

And Shadowborn not having a secondary perk like Moniter and Abuse. Maybe nightvision for those dark maps? I looked at a strange brown lump for a minute before realizing it was a Claudette on the Shrine map.

  • Billy and Cannibal, then Huntress. They're going after the ones that don't have two Irredescents in their add-ons.

Exactly so if their power is basically the same as an M1 but they don't get the benefits of using said perks with their ability then why use them. That's my point

    Their abilities use the add-ons.

Legion could stack STBFL stacks easy but circumvented the stipulation that you couldn't hit the obsession, so once again Legion had to get something nerfed for breaking the game. His power also applies debuff actions like breaking the target and finding more so they probably felt it already did too much for little investment.

Pig is a bit more abstract. Her Ambush attack goes much faster than her run speed (despite people saying it's slow as #########....liars). So they probably felt it would have taken priority over her normal attack every time. Aside from that, her beartraps are her main power, not her M1. Though she needs to down them first to use the traps. Although if she was too good at downing survivors then she wouldn't need the traps.

Same goes for Demogorgon. While Shred could be considered another M1 attack, the benefits of gaining more ground in a single attack outweigh it's individual importance. And it's also more of a side-grade to his main power which is the portals.

All in all though it felt like a late design decision when they implemented it. Remains to be seen if they decide to do another sweep over their add-ons anytime soon. But as far as build variety goes, they did their job getting people to use different perks.

They tunnled because most players were garbage at old Freddy. Tunnelling with old Freddy is a guaranteed lose.

No, you tag everyone, and while they're flopping around trying to self care themselves awake again, you remove one person so you're not stuck in a constant loop of them waking each other up. That was the most efficient way to play Freddy.

Sure you could let people go, but they're on a time limit of how long it takes to get a skillcheck. Then it's back to rushing gens which was that much easier to do because they were already on a gen. Which you needed to watch for 7 seconds before doing anything.

There were zero mindgames if they were asleep when paired with M&A. You constantly saw their aura if you backed off a little. And it was a seesaw of people having to be put back into the dream if they were even a little bit coordinated. That's mainly why they changed it. If new Freddy is boring, old Freddy was shallow.

  • Basic attack is half your arsenal and 90% of killer primary attack? Just cause Billy can 1 shot down someone anytime he likes doesn't mean that a majority aren't M1 killers. Most powers just reduce a health state.

  • You guys want wall hack Freddy back? All old Freddies tunneled hard because they're already caught up to someone after 7 seconds.

The problem with new Freddy is he has too many good passives. He doesn't go into blackout cooldown mode like Nurse or Legion, can use his power mid-chase without any loss in ground, can on demand go to any gen on the map, and forces survivors to mind their hook saves by waking up first. Theres also the ability to fake out survivors using their only form of defense, and not having the immunity mechanic old Freddy had to M1. So I suppose ease of use equals boring for some people. But it's also oppressive as well at the same time.

  • Should be called basement adept because that's how you get the snowball without useful perks.

yall too busy fighting forest fires anyway

If I can play games to escape my own depression and daily existential crises, then Aussies should be able to play to escape fires.

  • The Hooker sounds leagues better. World's oldest profession. Fishing I mean.

  • Miss Piggy works best if you can keep track of survivor positions. I usually do this with slugs and setting up ambushes. Blindness perks can also shake up their rhythm. Knockout will delay survivors finding the slug. And if the slug gets up, that usually means a second survivor. You can potentially let the slug go if they have a helmet on as they'll prioritize that. It's better than hook camping.

Her ambush attack can be used mid-chase. It can easily catch up to survivors which is why it got the perk nerf awhile back. People underestimate it's utility.

And if all else fails, I usually have bloodwarden. Got a real angry message for that one.

Well yeah, but theres no gameplay to truly reflect the pig and how her traps actually work, or gameplay to show spirit and oni are actually related other than name.

It's called imagination, some things you have to fill in the blanks yourself.

Like, ofc they cant make 4 killers for 1. People would play one over the other for being "op" and people would ######### about how 1/4 was better than the rest or just make 4 killers. Those options dont work.

And I'm fine with it. I love my susie outfits. I forgot base legion was a smiley edgy teen guy a long time ago.

Pig is blatantly obvious. It's a helmet with a timer that shoots ketchup in your eyes. Her entire backstory is tied to a serial killer who uses traps.

Spirit and Oni are only loosely connected by media and family name. They otherwise barely exist to each other and function as separate entities. They're not even mentioned in each others story iirc.

Legion has multiple personas and costumes for what purpose? You can't equip it on the other characters because they don't exist. Should have been called the Lone Wolves or something.

  • Least would lean in towards who I've run across that are the most campy.

Wraith has been the most campiest killer. I swear, no one can play him. They down one person then face camp. No exceptions.

Close runner up Hag. Hag she sets one trap, then when she comes back during a hook save, forces the one trap to go off. Basement Hag is almost inescapable.

Myers builds 99% then stands there. But borrowed time typically screws him over.

Freddy oddly is another camp killer. You have all this power and you use it for this?

Had only one Pig, Ghostface, and Cannibal facecamp me. Had to save more than one from being facecamped. Typically it's already EGC when they're doing it.

Favorite killer is one who I can learn from. Because then I can apply it to my own build.

Yeah like when he changes his voice, posture, body shape, hair length and color with just a mask.

    Like, seriously?

Spider magic. It's the answer to everything.

But seriously there's no gameplay to reflect more than one person working against the survivors. It's like watching a Michael Bay film and the screen turns black to say "explosion" instead of well, an explosion.

It was a well-needed nerf, to be honest. With all the loops, sometimes infinite, most maps offer - the perk was too good.

Going more into detail, the infinites revolved around window vaults which survivors are very strong at. If a killer tries to power through by simply following them, they'll always lose ground. Hence the nerf. It was also the only exhaustion perk with a passive.

  • They both have their strengths aside from simply getting you to a loop faster.

Balanced Landing has built in sound dampening but doesn't cover up scratch marks. It's also very terrain dependent. Best used before a chase for quick juking.

Lithe is more flexible. It's on demand with any vault, and can be built for quickly ghosting the killer. Downside is that build requires at least 2 other perks (Quick and Quiet, and Dance With Me). You'll normally tip the killer off where you are without them.

  • If he could harpoon himself onto second story windows that'd be neat. Only Nurse can do that at the moment.

Seems you're kinda frustrated with RDR2. Well, thanks for the advice anyway.

Got up to level 130, finished the cowboy pass, maxed every trade, and killed so many animals they've all been extinct since Christmas. Yet I still get 1 shot by some kid with a BB gun. Yeah it's not for the faint of heart if you try to be friendly.

  • Next time you need healing and the gates to be open while the killer comes barreling towards you, just remember you had forsaken Quentin first.

It's not just hatch escapes, the challenge is opening the hatch. So I can't rely on sound to find it. Unless I find it open, hide nearby, wait for the killer to close it and not die, and then open it myself.

Ah. Well again, Plunderers Instinct (I said Scavenger before lol, shame on me) makes your key rates skyrocket. I found two skeletons in one match. And if you have Ace in the Hole, it could have the add-on that preserves the key after use.

And as a few other people said, if you're rocking the key, just look for the hatch after some quick maths. You get at least 3 gens out of the way, then only 2 people need to die before you can search for it.

It never spawns on the second floor or in a basement, and is usually in the open with the exception of that Haddonfield one on the porch. And the swamp sometimes has it in the corner.

  • Nope. It's a health state trade. No Mither is already down one.

Also states you need to be full health.

  • It also opens when everyone else escapes y'know...

Edit: Noticed you said you tried that. Nvm.

Best way will always be key escape. Can even follow killer then reopen when they close it. See hatch, open hatch. Done. Plunderers will scavenge you a free key if you don't want to bring one.

And hatch always spawns in the same 3 or four locations. Hatch spawns according to how many survivors are in a game plus one on gen completion. So one guy dies, you see hatch before the last gen is completed.

Disagree on the Survivor background. Jane is a talk show host. Jane is the Devs interpretation of Oprah Winfrey. The survivor is an Investigating Journalist.

Oprah who was told not to be so sjw or the man will cancel her show. A biker chick who using her feminist powers to fight off rapists gained world famous notoriety. A famous journalist who got her story twisted by misogynists!

Not saying those aren't realistic scenarios but all the previous survivors were nobodies who wandered into the fog. Made them feel more relatable? I dunno. Just waiting for Dweet to turn out to be a small business owner who was run out of business by big pharma and his homosexual wedding was ruined by neo nazis. He used to just be the pizza guy and occasional hipster.

Oh, then there's the player tasked with killing these characters....

  • Um uh a pirate killer who throws a pineapple grenade.

A straight jacket killer who's actually a shiba inu.

A Priest who throws acid holy water at you.

Licensed killer: nerd antagonist from Grandma's Boy.

There, I saved DBD for at least another year.

  • The hatch is an exception in ALL cases. You should have prioritized the people who didn't have helmets.

  • All of 'em.

Proudest was Plague. Had them running scared all match then ended with a mori.

There was also Wraith who started off with a bunch of cocky survivors. Three of them DC'd.

    Leatherface against good survivors.

Clown needs buffs in a lot of ways, but he has his moments. His weakness to genrush and thus losing the game usually trumps his advantages though. Which is a shame since he can have a great but unrewarding skillcurve.

Pig and Legion are underrated imo. Stalling survivors is incredibly powerful and having a basekit stall is so, so good.

Legion just needs a less awkward cooldown phase. Though he excels in weeding people out, and his add-ons stack in interesting ways like iri-button and TR related perks.

Pig has too many weaknesses to her stealth that aren't too obvious. Best use of it has people doubting her position, not just ambushing people. Can't do that if you're bright red in an open field while spinechill tells em if she went back or is still around. Too high profile especially against swf. And beartraps are a great stall but no staying power against coordinated survivors.

  • Bubba is weakest. His base kit cannot catch up to a survivor running in a straight line (similar to Wraith), and his add-ons are glitched.

Clown is second because his clouds need build up time....then disappear immediately. But he has some broken add-ons that make up for it.

  • Huntress getting a rework anyways. She only has one iridescent add-on.

I've always felt like it was two hatchets being thrown at once. Maybe they rework it to throw multiple hatchets consecutively?

Interesting idea with the 4th health state... would you be able to do gens? Would going from crippled to injured take a full heal?

I figure you'd have all your perks disabled and some sort of debuff speed to other actions. After all, you'd be trying to move independently rather than waiting for a teammate. No Mither would recover up to injured, unbreakable recovers once. Tenacity's speed boost would work better slugged.

Interesting idea with the 4th health state... would you be able to do gens? Would going from crippled to injured take a full heal?

Not without a huge debuff. You're trying to act independently without assistance. Lorewise you're ripping open your wounds trying to stand up. Disable perks too so no self heal.

If it's a separate health state then wouldn't it make sense that Iron Will doesn't apply? Iron Will applies to the injured state, and dying is it's own state, not just injured minus one.

Like most slug perks it's too situational and offers little to no benefit for it's function. You're not doing gens, not healing teammates, not opening exit gates, not reviving other teammates. You can either simply hide or wait. Iron Will quieting slugs would benefit the former.

I've said this before but I think a fourth health state is needed. You recover into crippled where you can only walk and not run. Trapper style you can just scoop them up when you want to hook them.

  • Next survivor is a dad: has grandpa issues.

I'd rather someone blinds me while I break a pallet than put more distance between us.

And yeah, sometimes not getting found while down can help you. But if you crawl to the Hatch it's almost always because the hatch spawned nearby you, not because the killer walked right past you.

They lose distance if they're trying to blind you at a pallet. It's advantageous for a hit after a pallet stun.

I know the struggle of killer having to deal with second chance perks, but getting slugged is yet another health state just like being healthy and injured and deserves it's own set of rules, not just a fail-state as people seem to want to imply. Some of my best games as survivor were when everything seemed hopeless.

Stop being rude. Most people don't need perks to track survivors on the ground. It's not hard to go "oh this is where they were and they headed this way"

Ok. But clearly in this case they do.

Edit: Just a reminder, my original case wasn't that this bug doesn't suck. It's that Iron Will should work that way.

  • @AAAAA said:

Yeah, I won't use Lightborn in a lobby full of Flashlights, I'll just make sure nobody is around or look at a wall before I pick up. That or I'll bring Franklin's.

But again, my issue isn't that being silent on the ground is unbalanced, it's just annoying and drags games out unnecessarily.

Franklin's doesn't help at pallet blinds if you didn't already hit them and are getting pallet looped.

And with the chance of getting a slug hatch or using unbreakable/adrenaline, I don't want to be found immediately for something out of my power. Iron Will guarantees I set some of the rules for what happens to me. I'd be dragging the game out hiding in a locker. It's all the same. The goal is to find me. They already set the line in the sand with bleedout timers and EGC.

  • @AAAAA said:

There are such better perks. I can find someone on the ground with Iron Will using the things you mentioned, or just wait for them to bleed out, but that's not fun for anyone.

You one of those people who refuse to use lightborn in a full lobby of flashlights? If you refuse to use the counter then you must deal with the consequences. Yours is missing bodies. Never work at a morgue please.

  • - If active, boxes only disable beartrap first. Second search takes it off.

    - Faster vaulting while crouched.

    - Hello Zepp plays when timer is at 30 seconds.

These are my buffs requests. :D

    Killer: *is good*

Seriously, is it that hard to go up against a Killer who challenges you? Do all you guys want is to loop every Killer for five gens? Adapt or die.

Also, there's many factors that go into the stats. Freddy is currently the highest, but we don't know why. Is it a perk or add-on that's making him do so well? How good are the players? What map are they on? Pretty sure the devs said that the stats they gave out don't matter as much as you're thinking.

He teleports directly to gens with zero set-up is why. If he teleported to hooks it'd be a different story. Or if he had to Demogorgon it up and had to set up snare blood portals or whatever first, he'd lose a lot of innate pressure.

Simple fact is he has too many good passives. Hell even when he was being ######### on for waiting 7 seconds, his passives were wall hacking and gen slowdown.

  • I think his fake pallets should be basekit, but limited to two or three. Right now he can create a chase minefield of unsafe pallets. Snares are fine as they're real obvious and function more as a detection perk.

And a huge buff to his cosmetics is needed.

  • @AAAAA said:

Personally, I think Iron Will shouldn't work when downed anyway. Its purpose is to help you lose the killer when injured, making it harder to be found when downed is just annoying. In fact, I think Iron Will should have its numbers switched with No Mither, it's ridiculous that you basically have to run Iron Will with No Mither if you want to stealth.

The counter is Deer Stalker. Or looking for blood trails or pick-up prompt in tall grasses. Sound is the cheapest way to find someone (no perk investment I mean).
