Yeah no. The new survivor perks are literal hand me down dollar versions of better ones.
For The People is Autodidact but with a No Mither complex. We'll Make It is way more useful and Autodidact has no penalty.
Red Herring practically has no mind game potential against killers past rank 10.
Off The Record is also a dollar version of Iron Will.
Hex: Retribution has information, which is always useful, especially on big maps. Paired with Thrill of The Hunt and/or Haunted Grounds can make an early gg for killers, especially with slugging.
Dead Man's Switch on its own doesn't seem to good, but it will have good effect since most people are altruistic hook bombers. Now pair it with Thrilling Tremors and new Ruin, it'll slow gens down rapidly, especially with high mobility killers like Billy.
Gearhead seems like a better version of Surveillance, now pair it with Surveillance and new Ruin, and you'll practically have 24/7 info on every generator being repaired and not repaired.
The new killer himself ain't all that good, probably C or D tier currently but his perks definitely have tons of potential with high mobility killers.
For The People is instantaneous from what I've read. Autodidact needs to build. We'll Make It needs a hook state. And neither can make a bleeding survivor get up instantly.
Red Herring works across the map. Says last gen so that's a large degree of misdirection. Though I can see it backfiring in pubs.
Off The Record is Distortion + Iron Will and works when you need it which is right off of a hook. I don't see the downside to hybrid abilities. And most hookbombers don't have babysitter.
Killer and survivor perks all have potential.
-
Toxic? You get broken. Unless you're a loop god that's bad. Though I see it working for a resilience build.

It's Obsessionical chairs with all these Obsession swapping perks. @_@

Totally agree. Or maybe even the skin condition vitiligo. This is what I mean by diversity with skin in the game.
If you think of people as cats, then vitiligo makes sense. And mixed race couples don't pop out only brown kids. People can't genetics.

If you use a basic attack, the harpooned person goes free.
How about Harpooning someone who is in the middle of vaulting or harpooning past a vault or pallet? Is it just better to cut the line?
-
@FrenziedRoach said:
The gun itself cannot down you, only wound. It's real power is the ability to pull you out of position, scorpian-style which survivors have some agency in fighting back against.
Can you harpoon one guy then attack the other if you see two survivors? If so, it would make for some exciting scenarios.
-
I want a burn victim survivor. Not enough representation of burn victims in videogames. Only Joshua Graham comes to mind. Plenty of vets with burns from IEDs.

And even with the leak no one got it :P
Not too surprising, this one was really far out there.
Let's all stare disapprovingly at Peanits for knowing we wouldn't get it.
o_o
-
Weird surprise. Wasn't expecting a cowboy with a harpoon.
Curious as to how people fishing will work. Already can't hit survivors who dive behind cover the moment you ready a projectile.
-
Chameleon killer confirmed?
-
Cabin in the Woods was basically DBD if it was a movie. But I doubt something so mired in homage would be licensed and if it did it would be meta as hell.
-
It'll still be useful on deactivating items along with overwhelming prescence. My main has 15+ rainbow maps so destroying 1 makes zero difference if that's your goal. The add-on change though is incredibly damaging.
-
If the exit gates are wide open it's gg. I shouldn't have to impotently watch as someone with full immunity takes their time to leave. It's why hatch escapes were changed. It should deactivate on EGC. You've had more than enough time all match to not get tunneled.
-
If they start weakening loops with breakable walls, then survivors will get downed faster which means slower gens. Which means they'll need to save their teammates which they do by sabotaging the hook. They'll use their toolboxes sabo'ing which means no charges left for gens.
See? Simple logic.
-
It buffed the basement lol.
And less people on gens if they think they can sabo save a teammate.
-
Exhaustion perks help quite a bit. Sprint burst or lithe can get you some distance at the beginning of a chase. Dead hard for close range whiffs or closing the distance on a pallet.
Pallets: the less you use the better. Meaning if you can get a few loops without dropping one, you did good. And if you stay out of line of sight, then you can delay the killer getting bloodlust.
At L walls or jungle gyms try to mirror their movements. If they go left, go right.
Abuse vaults where you can. If the killer is forced to follow through a vault, they'll lose considerable ground by doing so. Though keep in mind the blocker mechanic and perks. Mind the distance between you and them. They could easily land a lunge if you're too close.

You don't want the slightly different colored blouse for throwing real money at it? Your loss.
I'm waiting for news of the new perks.

Legion? You mean that single guy with a knife who occasionally swaps out his mask to pretend he's someone else? Might as well call him 4chan in that case.
-
Nurse hugs you to sleep. Ignore the ligature marks.
-
Did kicking pallets make you OP because it's more of the same. Just run to the next loop like all good players do.

Hahaha:p I always love chill games. I’ve been thinking about P3ing my Quentin for so long now but he’s got all the goodies lol
Chill as in no sweaty trophy hunting (except Myers and Huntress). Just rift challenges for that. Though survivor hitsquads will change your mind very quickly.
I P3'd Jeff and maxed all perks, then moved onto killers. Killers benefit more from having all perks if you plan on playing around with different builds.
-
You're now in the cool kids club. Your reward is chill games and new goal of P3ing every character in the game.
-
Only go into games with green ping. It's now your ping plus everyone else's. Yellow and red are unplayable.
-
It has limits. Toolboxes have limited charges, perk has a cooldown, and killer already has perks to carry people longer.
Just a matter of how much mileage you get out of all those factors.

True. But with toolboxes having less charges, and hooks being down for less time, it definitely looks like a nerf.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1100876#Comment_1100876
See the above response. It's overall a lateral move. But it will still end up being a nerf most likely.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1100882#Comment_1100882
There's added utility. But I don't think it'll be enough to out way the negatives.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1100911#Comment_1100911
Nobody Sabo'd because it was too ineffective. The shorter speed will make it easier. But overall I don't think it'll be enough to make it effective.
It was ineffective because of how long it took to set up. Which was tedious because there were multiple hooks in any given area, and didn't guarantee you'd get to the hook in time unless you were heavily shadowing the killer or coordinated with someone else. There was zero reason to leave gens to save a teammate if they could eat a few hooks.
The shorter speed will mean at least an attempt on sabo'ing the hook. People bodyblock all the time, and now they'll be able to multitask as well. It'll reward aggressive play which only swf can typically pull off.
-
I think Mori's should be killer add-ons.
-
They'll have to uninstall once it's on every map a year from now.
-
I want a killer toolbox I can chuck at survivors heads.

You poor souls. :(
You stole my comment. I'm taking you to forum court. You will hear from THE LAWYER shortly. Careful, he's strong at loops and sexual harassment cases.
-
Odd how shallow "meta" has become. It used to mean layered.
But you're right, her tactics are pretty shallow. Vomit, rinse, repeat. Blood sprinkler.
Maybe allow healing but it resets the timer, like you do with Freddy? Or fountains partially corrupt depending on your level of sickness? Maybe a system where continuous contact with infected items gets you sick rather than passively getting sicker? But you still spread it yourself. So doing gens breaks you.
-
I can now use maps and keys aura abilities without worrying about them crumbling to ash. Although the add-ons getting used means the key (besides being used for escapes) will see less use as maps can still function without them.
Toolboxes are now all BNP machines. What an odd change. Though sabo will definitely see a lot more use now. It was too tedious before.
Doc change is welcome seeing as how easy snapping out is.
Plague has always been a nightmare to deal with, though maybe sabo'ing will become meta against her.
Trapper will still have to deal with people following him and immediately disarming his traps.
And wall busting will finally shake up those God loops.

They overall nerfed Sabo....
Nobody sabo'd because of how tedious it was. This sounds like a huge buff to every perk that uses the wiggle meter as well since they can sabo right in front of the killer without prep.

I play both sides but skew survivor. This might help survivors. If a killer is facing a wall they're breaking line of sight and opening up new and exciting ways to catch a flashlight to the face.
You can also crouch around the rubble and break line of sight in places you couldn't before. Killers don't have time to check every single little spot.
Plus I don't think every killer is going to run brutal strength. When a killer breaks a pallet you generally just run to the next set piece. This'll be the same thing but you'll be able to keep the pallet for later and use the broken area for a shorter loop.
Also you can see the killers red glow through a wall. Unless its scratched mirror Myers or super invisible pallet eater wraith you generally know what the killer is doing.
My question is, is the entity getting weaker or stronger? Blocking windows looked like the entity was getting stronger, having killers wreck the entitys level looks like its getting weaker.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm
Being flexible doesn't make you weak. Entity turning into an octopus rather than a crab.
-
Hoping the animation for certain stoic characters is them walking through just like rage mode Jason from F13.
-
Survivors escape into another trial.
-
Guy sipping coffee occasionally chiming in "He's over there. Sluuuurp"
-
Man they really ratcheted up the difficulty. I was opening the exit gate and a ######### cruise missile blows me up. Instantly moried.
They need to cut killer budget for these kinds of things. Why not funding for Badham so they can afford teachers?
-
It was Ruin that made people proficient at totems. And it was Inner Strength that drove the rest of the nails into the coffin.
There's also zero downsides to breaking them besides Haunted Grounds.
-
You can pull some big brain moves likes placing two portals next to each other then teleporting to the second one while survivors are on the first. But other than that, they always know when you teleport and the lunge feels like a drunk nurse.
Detection on the portals feels random. I stand there screeching at nothing for a small chance that someone decides to stand on one of them. And they're long gone by the time you teleport over to them.
-
So same strategy as a Clown with a flask of bleach?

It's actually some dude chained to a piano and he uses grand symphonies.....TO KILL

I believe the "soon" was a dig at F13 devs, Illfonic and Gunmedia. Every single response they used when asked when was this coming out, or when is that being fixed was "soon". So much so that they even started putting the trademark symbol at the end. It became a running meme of a completely incompetent dev/publisher team. So, it may have very well be a slight jab at that since F13 was supposed to "put dbd in the ground".
SOON(tm) is used a lot on Warframe by the playerbase. Even has a Prime version. Dev's are always dragging their heels in that game.

@dizbruhlikesthering I mean yeah he's fantasy but he's a kick-ass demon. I don't think it's any different than them adding demogorgon who originated from dungeons and dragons ( not stranger things like everybody thinks ).
In Stranger Things the character use DnD to name it. It's meta levels of homage.
And Spawn is a hero. Every killer is a known psychopath aligning towards evil than anything else. Yes even sweet Susie is probably a horrible #########.
-
It's a QoL sure but it still betrays the traps location. Just like Rainbow maps showing his traps. What's up with that? :v
-
I had finished a game once and noticed the house across the street burned down. Firemen were packing up and leaving as they already put it out.
o_o;
-
When I play Pig I typically try to go with slugs and baiting with the traps on, then start hooking once the third gen pops. Blindness add-ons and perks work really well with her.
Though from what I seen, coordinated groups will have the helmet off in seconds, but will sometimes stall gens if someone has a helmet on.
And immersed players typically die if you switch stances a lot making your TR appear then disappear. Really messes with them and they hesitate for fear of confrontation. Then you see their corpse draped over one of the boxes.
-
There's a number of ways they tried alleviating the issue. TR will pause it, so will slugging. But each search is 12 seconds so 45 seconds doesn't sound right. Isn't the add-on that shortens it reduce it to a minute and a half?
-
First 3 gens are to be expected. You technically have 4 left at that point and a large portion of the map will be left untouched other than fleeing survivors.
It's where you can't effectively zone with a 3 gen strategy is where it falls apart.
