  • Yeah loops are more an issue. Getting a pallet thrown on you sucks but going in a circle with no other variables in between 5 times with a pallet thrown on you for punctuation is horse #########.

  • I spent over $100 in cosmetics.....for killers.

Forgive me father for I have sinned.

  • Anyone with a tracking perk. The biggest issue with starting a chase is first finding one. And people seem to favor one hit down abilities.

Edit for clarity; Some examples: Legions feral frenzy, Oni blood orbs, Hag when she's not hook camping, Freddy using snares outside a chase, etc.

  • It's the opposite end of killer not getting points for killing everyone within the first 3 minutes. There needs to be some form of engagement outside simply doing the objective then leaving.

Besides, it's that guy getting hit who kept you from being found.

Tunneling a Trapped Survivor at that point is not very different from just camping a hook at the endgame, except the Survivor in question can still use the Hatch once everyone escapes. If you choose to go for the Hatch instead, you give them the chance to do Boxes.

What putting a helmet on someone at the end allows you to do is try to find other people without the need of camping the Hatch since you know they cannot immediately beeline for the Exit Gate.

This doesn't even take into consideration that Pig has already killed a survivor or two before end game. You're hinging your argument on hatch which has very clear cut rules and makes a losing scenario even more impossible. It also hinges on them being an swf who are working closely together. Any random will abandon the helmeted survivor who has now become a burden. Close the hatch and find the last survivor with both doors closed? Sure, they're pretty screwed. An active helmet would be overkill.

The Pig has all match to pressure people into not doing their objectives. There can be ways they could boost her mid-game potential. Require two keys for an active helmet. One to deactivate, second to remove trap. But dumping it all on an already precarious situation is bad design.

  • You need to not hit the Obsession when using Save the best for Last. Conditions exist for other perks. Locking people in when they're possibly even not 99ing doors is bad design.

That seems kinda Magical Christmas Land-y. Even if you threw in Bloodwarden, that's still kind of a gimmicky strategy at best that hinges pretty hard on one totem not being cleansed (assuming the totems aren't even cleansed in advance).

Needing a helmet to tunnel one person to death seems Candylandish if you believe it will solve the end game issue. You're not patrolling gens at that point, you're running circles around boxes.

And at end game there's nothing stopping you from helmet hooking. It rewards bad play all game so you can get everything in at the end.

  • Ruin was a bandaid on top of a staph infection. It didn't solve the base issue, and only benefitted against low level players.

Experienced players destroyed it immediately. Don't give me that hit every perfect skillcheck horse #########. You had to solo every gen because it would stop dead even if you hit every one. And there was a pay to win perk Stakeout that countered Ruin.

New Ruin rewards aggressive play by allowing you to not have to stop to kick a gen.

The change to her traps was to prevent tunneling someone to death for a cheap kill.

But that's what the Hatch is for. If you have a Trap on your head, and you're the last person around, you can either find the Hatch and get out there, or you go for the Boxes while the Killer looks for the Hatch so you can escape through the Open Gate. As long as the Endgame Collapse timer is paused during this time, there really shouldn't be a problem.

Noed everyone, slap helmet on. Congrats, you only have 3 minutes not to die.

Even if it did pause, Noed is the gamechanger.

Do you realize how situational that is to be near the gate and a down survivor and a hook? If the killer opens the gate that just screams to the other player he has blood warden, that is not viable in the slightest

All endgame perks are situational. The situation is you're in endgame.

You can only open the gate if the other is closed, so they're not immediately running out the other door.

You can also see their aura inside the gate so even if they don't immediately leave, you know they're there.

And yeah, it's pretty obvious if you're hovering over someone waiting for the timer to hook. You get in a few hits on other survivors, thin the herd and when they're confident they can get out and unhook in front of you, they run straight into a wall.

Either hook early to apply pressure or hook later to secure kills. It's fairly flexible.

  • @MysticMusician said:

You can't leave the trial with an ACTIVE trap on your head. If it's not active why shouldn't you be able to leave, if it has no possible way of killing you anyway?

Exactly. The change to her traps was to prevent tunneling someone to death for a cheap kill. Same with dropping someone at the exit gates to pop their head.

Pig "mains" want your head to pop on the free escape (hatch) too if your trap is active. Your management skills are awful if you let them run you around like that when you have the advantage.

  • I think all the tier 1 perks you acquire should stay when you prestige a character.

  • Why not nerf Spine Chill? Make it line of sight. Premonition can be the one that works through walls.

  • There's nothing stopping you from opening the gate yourself, then hooking a survivor for Bloodwarden if 99ing is the issue.

Guaranteeing a blocked exit for not opening the gate fast enough would skew those close games into the killers favor every time.

Small buff - Demogorgon no longer does 'STOMPS' whilst undetectable.

Hell, this would be a huge buff for Wraith as well.

On topic: I think Demo should have one flexible portal he can use anywhere. Portal use is clunky right now and being able to just dig somewhere to someplace you already set up would be a huge QoL.

  • @Peanits said:

I'm not entirely sold on that. Sometimes you just want to mess around with a specific perk, even if it's not the greatest. It would be a little annoying if the game told you, "No, you're not allowed to have fun with Head On or Any Means Necessary anymore." out of the blue a few matches in when they're already not the greatest perks. Likewise, it could be a huge kick to some killers that have strong perk synergies, like the Pig with Whispers and M&A. Forcing them to take off those perks can be a game changer.

Still, there's zero incentive to do anything different aside from rift challenges or dailies.

Oh that reminds me. Head On has no cooldown on PS4. I can spam that all day.

  • @ZoneDymo said:

I merely want this for playing a side tbh, get rewarded less and less the more you play for example survivor, and playing some killer games will then balance that out

I wouldn't mind a bonus for switching to a side if it's underutilized. Low killer population? Bonus bloodpoints! In fact the game desperately needs this as a feature.

A similar game had the same mechanic but I can't remember which one. But it keeps the game flowing and matchmaking times to a minimum.

  • @Jigsaw_pprentice1993 said:

Bad idea people want to run what they like i think that they should buff the ######### out of commen perks so there is more strong ######### to use

example dont know if u ever played cod mw2 that game had a lot of strong stuff so what haooend was a lot of people ran strong stuff but still having variety in load out and weapons

Buffing everything would turn the game into powercreep fest. They would have to buff all killer perks in reaction you'd have nothing but kneeslap reactions to anything below godly. CoD is a FPS shooter with mirrored setups for players and mirrored maps so it could have easily been balanced. But the power role ended up being whoever the bigger ######### is shooting helpless fishies at spawn then they get rewarded for it with more power-ups. That isn't a good metric for measuring balanced gameplay. Also the whole game was Danger Close double instakills. CoD MW2 was an awful game. Good god, it started the whole meme with people getting angry for aiming using a scope on a sniper rifle. How petty is that for someone to be angry for using something properly and not exploiting aim assist?

On topic: Without build variety the game will get stale. And survivor builds have already proven to be too effective when stacked together. Killers got something similar with the Ruin rework and that lead to a trickle down effect where they had to reevaluate their builds. And the only alternative here is to actually nerf survivor perks, which is the opposite of powercreep and not desirable. What is the alternative to directly address perk usage, but not outright nerfing them? That's the main point of this.

Another option is diminishing gains for every other survivor using it. If you get Decisive Struck more than once, the stun is shorter. Killer side, they should start weak then get more powerful as early game goes very quickly.

Again these are ideas being thrown around. Pitch in on what you think the health of the game is at right now.

  • Oni is like playing Pacman. He powers up and he eats people. A weaker Billy? He can charge straight through a treeline or jungle gyms to get to you. Objects don't slow him down. Aside from that he has superior horizontal control. And keeping people injured or down is his kit. Why not confidently leave a downed survivor to find people at gens? Overall he's a healthy mix of power use and his normal attack.

Playing survivor against him, if you want to not have him track you easily and can't heal, then run around the entire map. There will be blood everywhere and will actually mask your presence. He also can't track you using blood if he's in rage mode so take that as you will. Rage mode can be beneficial as well. Typically they'll run right past you and since he's not Billy, he won't accidentally down you like 90% of Billies do. Also has similar weaknesses to terrain. If he's dashing he can only go the direction he's dashing in.

  • Lol holy ######### the entitlement of these survivors.

You don't flip the game board to win. You're pathetic if you think that's not blatant cheating.

Look at this, they're actually doing a psyche profile on the killer to determine if they don't cheat. Ha ha ha ha! My sides are in orbit! These replies are pure comedy!

  • All the sensitivity in the world won't help you hit an aim dressing abusing survivor spinning in a dumb circle. That's a hitbox issue.

  • I always assumed the two kills a match thing was a rough estimate of what a good game should be.

If we convert to hooks, then that's at minimum 6 hooks with 12 total. If I get everyone on death hook and they all escape, I do consider it a decent game.

  • Reeling someone in is supposed to close the gap right? Huntress constantly loses ground if she can't hit those long range hatchets. Seems gunslinger has better mid-range game in that regard.

And he can pursue longer without having to search for lockers. In close quarters, it's a one two KO.

Also was already mentioned that all M1 perks work with him.

  • But Billy is the most perfectly balanced killer in the game. All killers should see through walls.

  • @Blueberry said:

I was thinking to keep its current effect, but add that your Exhaustion will now recover at 25% of normal speed while running.

Perks originally did that, and it was op.

  • Afraid? No of course not.

    Because I'm already alone.

  • Last rift I did every challenge and was at tier 56. The grind was terrible and ended up paying to end it.

I'd rather my goals not dry up while I'm playing. Otherwise it feels aimless.

I'm confused. Do you agree with me or not? I am arguing that bugs aren't the biggest problem. I said earlier that I think they should continue with new chapters because that's how they get the funds to keep the game running. You picked a comment that was a response to another persons comment where he claimed the game wasn't getting better because a lot of bugs aren't fixed. I personally love Skyrim. I was using them as examples of really buggy games that are super fun and good.

I was agreeing on the buggy games can be enjoyable part, but balance hinges on the game functioning well. And usually the first half of my comment focuses on whoever I quote, then goes back to the main conversational point. It's not all directed at you per se.

Yeah, you can accept it has bugs and still enjoy it, but my point was it's not being outright ignored because there's a background process there. If they drop everything, their business model collapses because balancing act is its own balancing act. They patch what they can, but new content has to be there too. And balance balance has to be weighted first. If a perk is too heavy they put it on a diet. Know what I mean?

  • Survivors are more two-faced than anything. They'll help you one minute then throw you under the bus the next. Though that's a reaction to the killer sadism.

And killers are insecure. They go into a match with ambiguity and if they don't see anyone else, they'll just go for who they already found. They also can't main a character as easy as a survivor can in the sense that all killers are different. Survivors can just swap abilities, but killers are fixed in what they can do.

And hybrid is honestly the superior way to play. You get perspective on how things work and what doesn't. Also not shoehorned into one playstyle. So that's probably why they're so pragmatic.

  • Honestly it's one of the better maps. But yeah that double window on the same wall in the shack is an oddity in how well it works for looping.

  • Ace, Ash, and Quentin have no synergy between their perks. But No Mither has only gotten worse since it can now feed the Oni. And you're making noise 24/7 So David is top pick.

Kate got brought up, but Dance With Me works with WoO, so there's at least some synergy there.

  • Yeah the little actions we have, have too many meanings. Like swinging your arms on the hook. Apparently it doesn't mean "Danger killer nearby" anymore and the sheeple go running straight into them and I go into second hook phase.

  • There's no middle ground. Either gens don't get done, or they all do.

Personally I think some more environmental factors should apply. Like there's already single person only gens. How about activated blockers like a can of kerosene a killer can knock over to block it.

  • The game almost has no room for expression. If there was a "scared Dwight" emote where he'd immediately freak out, I'd use it at every pallet the killer is breaking.

Didn't realize bugs were the only thing that mattered when deciding if games were good. Guess Skyrim and fallout are terrible games. Bugs can be fixed the main priority right now should be balance

    I played Skyrim, Fallout 3, and Vegas all on PS3. Game would crash every half hour and I managed do every single piece of content, and beat the game multiple times. Fallout Vegas is still my favorite game. Remaster never. ;_;

Yeah, people think focusing on bug fixing is some magical tincture that will fix everything but the fact is they're always bug fixing anyways. I can assume it's working retail department store levels of demotivating and boring. And something so abstract as matchmaking people to your "skill level" is just simply not going to happen.

New content drip feeding into a game is how you retain interest. Why do you want to sabotage this? I play a game that stopped getting content updates and every day is the same. When are we getting something new? Silence. No I don't want them to not having something every 3 months.

  • One irredescent that hasn't been changed in years makes them killer sided, lololol.

  • It's well within the conditions they set about the level difference. This is working just fine. Unless you want all those boosted red ranks to be trapped in matchmaking for several hours?

  • Yes, console aim is indeed terrible. That's why it has nothing but adventure puzzlers and tap rhythm games.

Strange decision on BHVRs part to release not only a first person killer, but one that has to aim too. I'll not only have to coordinate between an x and y axis, but a dreaded z axis as well. I hope the hitscan will be able to register a wide circle shaped hitbox.

And without an objective marker leading me directly to survivors, how am I supposed to ever find anyone? I guess I'll just buy more loot boxes till I unlock the adept killer trophy. Guess I'll have to skip living in a house this week to afford it.

  • If I'm injured with no second chance perks and no other teammates, then yeah. See you space cowboy.

Though if the conditions line up, then yeah I can at least try to help.

What you said is kinda, oblivious.

The power of Red Herring is it's on a gen. The weakness of Pebble is it's anywhere. Because if the killer connects two braincells, he'll get there's something off. Why would there be a sound notification at a door, or in a dead area ? it doesnt make any sense. While with Red Herring, it's always a gen, and now this is "scary" because it would mean someone failed a gen skillcheck which is way more logical than the pebble in the middle of nowhere.

The only thing Pebble is better at is you can use it during endgame, which isnt the case of Red Herring.

Huh. Just looked it up. Didn't realize there was a range limitation of 20 meters.

Still, you chain it with a fast vault to lure them over then pebble another vault when the killer is near it should confuse them a bit. Difference is you're putting yourself more in danger than everyone else who happen to wander near the gen.

And if the killer is worth their salt, they'll ignore notifications and focus on zoning areas they know they can control.

  • Pebble can be used in dead areas away from gens. Also isn't affected by EGC. You could pebble a door, then open the other one. You can also see the area you're effecting at all times. Only downside is charge and the terror radius requirement.

  • Am I the only one who wasn't affected by Oni? His latest change seems to overcorrect the hit. But his main perk was always the blood tracking. And if I find someone on a gen while enraged, they're running away every time.

I got my all 4 in the basement challenge done with him lol.

  • Rank has been abused since forever. If I rescue two people off the hook and do one gen, I pip no matter what.

  • Depends on your mindset. If you go into a game fair minded then get steamrolled, your mercy disappears.

Then there's your personal goals. I one time moried someone who DSd me because I needed the 4k challenge or whatever. Dick move but that's the way the match goes.

Unless they add scoring events for letting people free, it'll always come down to your primary goal like survivors and gens.

  • That's the vicious cycle. Gens get done faster, insecure killer tries to secure kills, survivor becomes better survivor by looping better and using anti-tunnel perks, killer resorts to shadier tactics, etc.

  • I'm purple rank and every match was against rank 18s yesterday. Clubbing seals.

  • I'd mostly be curious as to how I look through the survivors lens or vice versa. Did I look like a toxic looper, or was I a scary killer?

But mainly for seeing how the hell the creeping Nea juked me, or what terrain the Blendette morphed into.

  • Nurse. Though she was broken as ######### lol.

Legion. Though he was broken as ######### lol.

Spirit. Though she was et cetera.

I hate to use fixated and SB taking up two spots at that point I’d rather use a different perk with one slot even if it’s not quite as useful as SB

All really depends on how you see yourself playing. If it's for gens, you don't really need to be careful around using it too soon.

1 … 27 28 29 30 31 … 33
