Party hats for all Survivors!

To me, it makes no difference as long as RCPD gets changed. Screw that map.

Don’t forget that, with this upcoming change, you’re also automatically getting all teachable perks at tier III from characters you’ve P3’d. So if you have completed a lot of them, the grind will only be for general perks on new characters or after prestiging.
I have completed none of them. I have maybe a few I'd get tier 1 prestige on when the catch-up kicks in, but the only character I'd actually get Tier 3 on is the Pig. So no thanks.
-
I'd say based on the specific definition you are putting forth, yes.
-
I am personally waiting. I cannot imagine that whatever the reward is for prestiging early is worth having to regrind a character from scratch in my eyes.
-
I think I caused it. I forgot to unqueue while leveling up Trapper and started mashing to exit, and I must've caused Steam to implode. My b.
-
More characters should guffaw like the Clown when hit by things.
-
Cakes are dead. Flan is the new hotness.
-
David would probably become unplayable tier due to basekit No Mither. Top Tier would probably be whichever character has two good teachables. So...idk, Meg? Bill?
-
This version seems completely unusable vs skilled players and completely miserable for less skilled players. It seems like the absolute worst of both worlds.

They probably should, they're garbage. You'll be lucky to get 1 go off in 50 Pig games.
I had three go off in the span of four Pig games yesterday, including two in one game. ;)
I understand that OP is alleging that the timers are bugged to still count down while being chased, but at the very least, from my POV, they appeared to be functioning just fine.
-
I'm down for it with one caveat: There's gotta be a way for people to avoid being stuck in a match with someone with a horrific connection.
-
I was playing Pig yesterday, and the timer was still pausing during a chase. Stupid question, but are you sure the game actually registered you as being in a chase?
@Regulus47 said:
I think the trap timer should be reduced, maybe to 2 minutes, but it shouldn't tick down or be allowed to pop if pig is within 16 meters of you. That would solve this and a lot of her tunneling issues.
They did that before but without the timer reduction. They ended up undoing it because it amounted to giving the Pig a free upgraded Whispers basekit, enabling her to tunnel the Trapped Survivor pretty reliably.

If you're contributing to the team that's a fair point.
In my mind, I'm picturing the other three Survivors making their escape while the Killer has me on the hook. That's a win in my book.
-
I'm for it. I'm honestly surprised it took them this long for them to come up with the idea.

Sure, I guess if the killer is chasing, downing and hooking you and during this time the others are able to do gens and leave. You could say it's a win for the team. It's not a personal win though.
To be fair, I consider a win for the team a personal win as well because they're the same in my book.

I don't think the game should be "do gens" so that the other side gets to have easy access to a kill.
That isn't what DBD should be about IMO.
No, it's "do gens" to win and make the killer lose.

Well, considering the state of the game, where they have done nothing regarding why DS gets brought in the first place, I.E. (Camping/Tunneling not being even remotely changed). I don't think nerfing DS is where we need to put the focus on.
You see it as "you have to eat DS" well what about those hundreds of survivors who have "eat a hook state" because someone decided they wanted to exploit a playstyle that doesn't punish them whatsoever?
I do agree DS needs tweaking, by that I mean more buffs since it clearly doesn't deter any killer from Camping and Tunneling.
Do gens. Ez.
I think nerfing DS in the end game and buffing it in the not-end game is where we need to be.
-
Probably because the cracks in the game's balance show up pretty prominently when good players become involved. Factor in the likely wide gap in player skill, and I could see that adding up to an unpleasant time for the weaker player(s).

Honestly I think anyone who suggests it to deactivate is just clueless.
DS is fine as it is in it's current state.
Coincidentally, I feel similarly about anyone who suggests that the counter to DS is to directly play into it and that it's fine to get punished by DS when you intentionally try to play around it over the course of the game.
DS needs a bit more tweaking in its current state.

Ok let's not punish those " good killers ". DS will deactive at EGC but it will work for both hook states now. Let's punish tunnellers more but those "good killers" will not get any punishment from this change.
Yes, this. I fully support this. Well, almost. I think it needs to deactivate once the gates are powered, not just open. As long as one or more generators need to be done, DS can still be used, and it can be used on both hook states.

I did not said any perk is lets killer block or close hatch. They can do this without perk, it is base-kit for them. I said if 3 survivors died, will this be fair if they lose this mechanic. They are no longer can block survivor to escape with hatch or they can not close it either. They need to catch survivor far from hatch.
The perk part was that. I said if killer has domination would you agree to make them lose some perks. So survivors would have chance to come back.
Both cases are unfair btw, punishes killer because they are winning. So why you wanna punish survivors while they are winning?
No, it wouldn't be fair. You are suggesting a basekit nerf to Killers and a nerf to a Killer perk in exchange for nerfing a Survivor perk. How is that an equal exchange?
-
@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

Ok so you are saying DS & BT needs to deactive in EGC. And killer can not close hatch anymore too. And they can not grab survivor when survivor try escape with hatch. Am i correct?
I disagree with both them btw. People should not be punishment for playing good.
I asked you which perk lets the Killer block and close the Hatch. Because you said that some Killer perks should be disabled when three Survivors are dead (which I'd be fine with) and then said Killer should lose the ability to close/block the Hatch.

They are all counters, not easy for sure but counterplay. And it should not be easy at this case because multiple targets are alive.
Why 4 men escape should be hard for survivors while they played better than you? Deactivating DS and BT for egc will make 4 men escape almost imposible. Because it will be so easy to target unhooked survivor, even someone tries to bodyblock. And you did not answer my other question too. When killer is dominating game, they should lose perks too? If 3 survivors dies, killer should lose ability to close hatch or block too. Because escape is almost imposible for last survivor. So let's punish killer because they won game already with 3 kills.
They are absolutely not reliable enough to be called counters IMO. A counter to DS would be slugging a Survivor so another Survivor has to heal them while Killer goes for gens.
I disagree on 4-man escapes being near impossible without BT/DS. I've done it as a Survivor, I've had it done to me as Killer.
Also, I'm on board for Killer losing access to some perks when three Survivors die. Which perk allows the Killer to close/block the hatch?
-
@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2996747#Comment_2996747
It is not guaranteed escape. You can hook them far from gates, so you can slug them if they are far enough. You can try grab other survivors when they try save. You can bring end game perks, which will buy you good time. You can eat DS early game. There is enough counters.
But you are just wanna being rewarded for your lose. If they deactive DS & BT for end game, you will just target unhooked survivor. Escape will be imposible for them. This does not look healthy to me. And i agree with @ad19970 . Killers have chance to get 4 kills, so survivors should have for 4 men escape. But your suggestion will make this almost imposible.
The first option is absolutely not reliable. The second option I already explained. The third option is finicky at best (which is fine on its own, but not when DS/BT means the unhooked person can also act as a meatshield), end game perks are not worth using IMO (not even NOED), and playing into DS is not a counter to DS.
Also, I can tell you from experience on both sides of the fence that escape at that point in the game while being camped/tunneled is not impossible.
-
@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2996709#Comment_2996709
Yeah if it is end game and if multiple survivors alive, it should be hard to get kill. Ths is the natural cycle of the game.
It is same of survivor version when one survivor dies at early game. Win will be hard for last 3 survivors at this point. And it should be.
So again, game should not give you " free kill " because you are camping and tunnelling hooked survivor in end game. There is 0 reason to deactivate this perk. Tunnel is still tunnel and DS is helping against it.
So you are clearly saying "If survivor hooked in end game, escape should be so hard for them" but why? You failed on your task, not them. Why they should lose their perks while they won? Yes game is not over before they escape but at this point, you should have hard time, not survivors. Is killer should lose one of the perks when they have only 3 survivors alive? Your suggestion does not make any sense to me.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2996706#Comment_2996706
But tunnelling is still tunnelling, even in EGC. And plus maybe this survivor had 5 gens chase and it was their first hook? So why they should lose their perk because killer failed to kill them. Why EGC should support killer?
It being hard to score one kill is not the same as one person effectively having immunity. Hard to kill an individual is fine. Survivor being guaranteed an escape is not.

I don't understand what you're saying here.
@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

Then target one of the others instead hooked survivor? Game is not over after all gens pop'ed, you can still tunnel them in EGC. So DS is still needed perk, even at end game. So why perk should nerf because killers wants free kill in egc.
If survivors completed all tasks, it should be hard to get one kill for you. This is like that: If 3 survivors died, killer should lose to ability close/block hatch. Fair? No. So why game should reward you for end game camp and tunnel?
DS is fine.
Going after someone else is not remotely feasible in the end game unless they are actively coming to you (which they are only doing if you are camping the hooked Survivor). If you change Survivors even once at that point in the game, the hooked Survivor becomes unhooked, the Gate is easily opened, and the person you are now chasing still has a much easier time making it to that Gate.
When all the gens are done with all/most Survivors still alive, it should be much harder for Killer to win. That does not mean to me that any individual Survivor should effectively be guaranteed an escape.

And you act like because you didn’t stop them from doing their objective that you’re entitled to free kills.
Killers are not entitled to free kills during the end game.
I act like a Killer that plays around DS during the not-end game should not be punished by DS as a result during the end game.

With how many hooks there are I dont think it would be an issue to carry them a big further away tbh
It's not a question of finding an available hook. It's a question of being able to travel to it. Unless you are full-on using the taxi meme build, you are very limited in how far you can travel while carrying. And that assumes that no one tries to body block you in your attempt to do so.
-
@Marigoria said:

If you hook in a hook close to the gate, yes, otherwise no unless they have tenacity, which no one ever runs.
You can just hook further away from the game.
Not reliable. You are entirely at the mercy of where the down happened. Unless it happened far, far away from either gate, they can still very realistically crawl to the gate.

Slug. There's your counter.
What's the counter for end game camping for someone without DS? "but BT!!!!" I play soloq, a lot of people just farm you without BT.
So, what's the counter for someone without DS who is being face camped?
They can still crawl out, so that is not an effective counter.

I can’t believe people are still complaining about DS after all the nerfs it’s received.
That's because the nerfs in question have done little to affect its power during the end game. Hence why I suggest deactivating it during the end game in exchange for buffing it during the not-end game.

I literally stated the nerf in the first phrase........
How does that nerf stop someone from using DS in the endgame the same way they currently do? The person using DS as a guaranteed escape at that point is unlikely to be the person trying to open the gate. They'll just run to the gate while someone else taps it for the last 1%.

... If lobby-dodging became such an issue ... then... that would kinda say more about an at-the-moment invisible problem that ought to be addressed rather than kept from being made visible.
Personally, I kinda would like to know which killer it is gonna be - mostly because getting the same killer over and over again eventually gets really, really old. Then again; not knowing who it is at the beginning of the match is part of the fun.
Given that there are people who have valid issues with some mechanics some killers come with (heard about doctor's strobe lights quite often now, but also the Dredge nightfall screams being triggers with serious consequences) and 'ez - you know you may encounter it in the game and if you can't deal just don't play the game altogether ¯\_(ツ)_/¯' are not valid arguments in my opinion, I would prefer a blacklist of sorts. You get to blacklist, dunno, maybe three killers that you just won't be matched with. Be that because they are triggering a condition you have or because you can't see them anymore without being so annoyed you may just as well close the game again.
You can't address the atm invisible problem of sore losers, sadly.

IMO, Lethal on most Killers, Corrupt on a select few (those who need set-up time like Trapper and Hag or those who have their own way of fishing out a Survivor like Doctor).

Because Killers always say that the game is not over when 5 Gens are done, but for some reason when it comes to DS, it should be deactivated - but the game is not over, why should it be deactivated? The Killer can still tunnel in the Endgame. And it is not really the Survivors fault if the Killer has no other option in Endgame.
IF the Devs ever nerf DS further, they should really, really buff the Anti-Tunneling ability of the Perk. To make it really impactful so that a Killer really does not want to go after a freshly unhooked Survivor at all. Because currently, DS is a Joke, especially against the strongest Killers. A Blight or Nurse just has a good laugh and downs you a few seconds later.
Because DS is far and away at its strongest at that point in the game (while still being usable at most other points in the game). At that point in the game, it is no longer about standing still at certain points of the map for large chunks of time while evading the Killer. It is now about reaching a certain position on the map that ensures your escape. And in far more circumstances than not, DS all but ensures that because most Killers have VERY few options to answer the perk (one of the few reliable ones that exist across the board is the mori offering, which is being retired soon). They can't leave them because that person will escape, they can't re-hook them because that person can break free and still escape, and they can't slug them because that person can still crawl and escape. Counterplay that exists when gens still need to be done no longer exists at that point in the game. On the flip side, one of the big downsides for DS (can't do gens without it turning off) is gone because there are no more gens. DS gets stronger at that point while playing around it gets much worse.

I mean the survivors did
No, they didn't. The fourth perk was an insurance that they choose to hold onto until they needed to use it. Hope is Survivors playing with three perks. Adrenaline is Survivors playing with three perks. Holding DS until the endgame is them playing with four perks because nothing is stopping them from using it before then endgame if they gain the ability to.

I can see your point of view but wouldn’t it also be unfair to the survivor that gets off the hook and the killer just downs him and picks up immediately and gets hooked again?
I would argue no because now that there are no more gens to be done, the remaining Survivors can very much gang up to try and rescue+protect that one Survivor. Obviously this is easier said than done against some Killers (coughcoughBubbacough), but the dynamics of the current trial have now changed such that Survivors are now encouraged to band together instead of split up.

I agree that DS should disable when opening gates but making it disable during endgame shouldn’t happen. The perk would need a massive buff.
Allow it to be used multiple times. Easy compensation IMO.

Disable DS once the exit gates are powered, and make it not just single-use only. Then I'd be satisfied with DS as a perk.

Not to get all lawyer on you, especially because this doesn’t concern me but some offenders of blocking someone in may not see it that way. Lets just say other games have taught me that people can be very liberal with things that are theoretically possible in a game.
What if they don’t want to risk someone saving them with borrowed time and want to guarantee 1 kill? It’s doable within the game without outside assistance, is it not part of the game simply because you say so? Granted that’s the right you guys have but that’s a fairly dangerous position. Regardless I appreciate the reply <3.
All rules and boundaries of rule breaking are set by the people who make the game, so it very much is because they say so.
