Maybe they could buff her in other ways? Idk. It just doesn’t feel good when things like that happen.
If you have no buffs to suggest in trade then don't suggest nerfs.
I wouldn't even touch the artist right now since all the survivor complaints make it obvious she'll be gutted in the mid patch, so why waste your time learning her or getting good with her?
-
Ghostface. He makes the same sound I do.

Seriously, that doesn't make any sense. I can't have fun in any killer matches because my matches is only with tryhard survivors who think they're in the finals of a championship.
The game was great as it was and they destroyed the fun for killers.
Can I get a link to where a dev or someone said this game is not competitive? Because so far I have never seen one. Just players insisting so.

I get all the people saying that she doesn't really deserve a nerf since she's nowhere near nurse level but at the same time I think we can all agree that this a problem because she's just not a well designed killer to begin with
Then stop designing characters that way? There's a serious issue with designing characters with the intent to be like this and then nerfing them to uselessness for being exactly how the devs designed them to be. "Let's just nerf/delete the character!" isn't a good solution.

Oh, no. The killers who deserve a nerf got hit with it!
Every single example deserved the changes they got.
Not sure why B and C tier killers need nerfs. "My fun" isn't an argument.

@Shirtless_Myers said:
She's not fun to play against and generally denies the most enjoyable part of the game, chases. No, she's not the strongest, but I consider her a failure in design, too. If the best choice a survivor has is holding W, the killer is a failure.
That's how she was designed. It's a feature, not a bug. How she plays isn't some unintended mess up. People could suggest how to make her more fun to play but all that gets suggested is massive nerfs to make her basically unable to win. This isn't a PVE Co-op game. Just nerfing killers across the board with no compensation is awful and is what you'd do to an NPC controlled enemy, not a player character. That being said, it is behaviors prefered method of balance, so it will probably happen.

- Where did I say punish anything?
- My suggestion of rewarding fairplay has no obligation added. If one plays fair they get a reward, if not it's all the same. That player JUST doens't get this ADDITIONAL reward. So maybe you want to READ before you answer?
Why do you think it's unfair if the opponent tries to win?
-
Most likely. What killers that got annihilated via nerfs actually got fixed later down the line? You may as well consider him removed from the game.
-
What are you proposing she get in trade? This isn't a PVE game.
-
If I'm too lazy to find the last person I may just stand still and let them get hatch since I feel I have already won and don't care about the fourth. If the match was REALLY bad for the survivors, I will give the last person the hatch provided I have hooked them before. If they haven't been hooked, then I'm hooking them for point reasons. I may also possibly give hatch to someone who I respected because they were very good and gave me a run for my money. Provided they didn't act toxic.

Of course Legion, of all Killers, gets screwed. Poor Legion.
And, of course, Snowman do nothing but screw Killers in general. Poor Killers in general. 😁
Yeah, but they're fun! Why can't you have fun with it? Why don't killers enjoy this event that offers them nothing but more difficult games? I cannot figure it out.
-
Bond, Kindred, Open handed, DH
-
Nemesis. He can do it from several meters away in tier 2, isn't forced to look at the pallet while breaking it, so he doesn't lose sight of the survivor, and can move (very slowly) during the recovery animation. Demo also chews through pallets like no ones business, especially with Barb's glasses.
-
Can't say I've never gotten a down from iron maiden.
-
The exo skeleton itself would fit quite well. T1 has many horror elements. It's essentially an unstoppable killer going around murdering people while trying to kill a specific person while the heroine runs and attempts to escape the unstoppable killer. It has slasher elements to it in that way.
Cyberdyne labs from T2, the melting plant from T2, or the factory from the end of T1 would be the best map choices. I'd personally want Kyle reese for the survivor. I think just going off T1 would probably be the best choice.

Blight doesn't need a nerf.
Artist, much like every Killer apart from Blight that came since 2020 began, needs major adjustments to be actually fun to go against while also buffing them.
People act like how she plays is a mistake and not how the devs intended.

Totally agree with this. I play both sides about 50/50 and killer is as miserable as it’s been since I started playing the game (I didn’t play at the very beginning when I hear it was really bad). Pretty much any M1 killer now is useless against the CoH meta. And then the devs thought it would be a good idea to give survivors even more free health states with the snowmen. When I play survivor, I expect to be camped and tunneled because of the awful state of killer right now. I don’t blame them at all
Things were more unbalanced in terms of the core aspects of the game at launch, but at launch, people also weren't super efficient and able to use everything like a pro. People were new and still learning and most of this stuff became an issue more as time went on. And many of the perks people complain about did not exist at launch.
I think the game was less balanced at the time but also people abused that lack of balance less back then, AND there were less tools available for everyone. Many of the problems with balance in this game are tied to some perks. Many of which did not exist 5 years ago.
-
That would be a pretty awful perk.
-
It negates ghostface entirely. It's cheating no different from giving yourself a 5% speed boost with a program.

So you think 5 or so Cherry-Picked games is more valid than the data from the Developers. I can get 5 Cherry-Picked games and show the EXACT opposite of what you showed. That makes me as right as you are, which is not at all.
But here, let's ignore the most valid set of data anyone has, which is the data from the developers and use data from a more recent tournament, that Scott Jund has actually done for you on a youtube video. The tournament was entirely unrestricted, it was recent, and it very closely followed the stats shown by the Developers.
Tournament Indicates DBD is Actually Decently Balanced at Highest Level - Dead by Daylight - YouTube
Now you may said it only is valid for certain Killers, except if you look right below that video, then you will see another tournament that Scott Jund did a spreadsheet on and it too was very close to what the Developers are showing, data-wise, also. Except it didn't have the 3 killers you are talking about in it. It had Pyramid Head, Freddy, Michael Myers, Nemesis, Demogorgon all Killers that aren't considered that good. Except they were getting around a 2.3 kill rate in those tournament.s
I think the devs data is largely worthless until they hire a statistician to go over them. There's a reason statisticians exist, are hired, and require a degree. Because the average person can't read statistics at all. They just jump to conclusions.

Fun games for brand new players for their first 50 or so hours so they succumb to sunk cost fallacy and just buy cosmetics.
-
All hail Bubba. Lord of the hook.
-
Sociopathy would be my guess.
-
DC tend to be so common in this game that it is honestly unplayable when they shut the penalty off. IMO the penalty rates should be doubled.
-
Yes.
-
The original video I think started this, spooknjukes video, straight up says killers bring it because it's fun for THEM and that way they can mess with the survivors. Survivors complaining it is ruining their fun are just straight up narcissists.
-
Does this mean I can finally stop having survivor mains who tell me the perk is indeed working as intended and the devs always intended for dead hard to be a counter to twins and Nemesis? It was genuinely extremely frustrating and I just started checking out of dead hard threads because it felt like all of its defenders were extremely uninformed about the perk.
-
Some people play to win the game, a novel concept. If one guy is leagues beyond the others and quite hard to take down, of course I'll largely ignore him and save him until the last. By himself, he will fall. It's simply not smart to focus on the one great player of a team while the other 3 do gens.
No reward would change how I played, either. And a punishment would just see me playing a different game.
-
Did I miss some new survivor push to shun people from using lightborn?
-
Is there any evidence Spirit is specifically based off of either of these famous onryo characters from films and not just based off the Japanese myth of the onryo, a vengeful spirit?
Also a killer I never see get brought up in these "homage" discussions is Blight. Behavior admitted Blight is inspired by Jekyll and Hyde.

Strong yes, game breaking no. I can still get 4ks with boons out...
Soooooo...
You could get 4k's against old MoM and old BNP's and such too. Doesn't mean it's ok.

Balanced landing is the only exhaustion perk that seems to be lacking behind the rest of them and the least used. I know Smash hit isn’t exactly up there either in usage but I’ve seen that way more than BL still plus every map has pallets so it’s consistent. BL is what I would say is the most inconsistent exhaustion perk due to its lack of places to use it on the majority of maps. Hell, you can’t even use it on Shelter woods (Except basement) which I shouldn’t even need to describe how much that sucks. Also after map reworks the problem hasn’t been fixed fo some weird reason. I think that reverting the BL nerf so that you still get the stagger reduction whilst exhausted would be a good step forward in up’ing it’s usage and putting it at the same tier as other exhaustion perks. Thoughts?
You think balanced landing is less used than smash hit?
-
No thanks.
-
If camping and tunneling bother you and ruin your day, take a break from survivor for like a week. Play some killer. Maybe civ.
-
No. In fact, they straight up lied.

As far as I know, its because they didn't have the original voice actor for Pinhead do the lines, they had someone in-house imitate them. I presume this was a problem for the hellraiser license holders at the time. Unfortunately since the deal is likely locked in now (since Pinhead managed to get into the game) there probably won't be any changes to the voice lines until the contract expires/is renewed.
Since when does Doug bradley own the role of Pinhead? The role has been recast numerous times and the last time he even played the character was in the mid 2000's. He also didn't write the line. It's in the book Barker wrote before he likely even knew Bradley existed.
-
Tru3 is bad at most killers but for some reason believes he isn't and this causes him to not learn how to play them at all, and instead just default to "they're bad." That said, killer is still as fun in 2021 as a root canal sans meds. Most killers are quitting.
-
You know what I'd like more than that? Actual lastnames and characterization for them. They are blank slate characters that are just an appearance. They have virtually no backstory or history. The Legion tome (which mainly focused on Julie) also contradicts what little backstory is given of Susie and Joey in the original Legion backstory.
-
Informs survivors it is in play as soon as the gens are completed, not when someone is first hit. That is all it needs.

i dont know what brings a swf or survivors to spend more
money on cosmetics? killer are actually ones forced to buy chapters just becouse of meta perks :) optionally even cosmetics
More survivors buy cosmetics than killers. A large reason being survivors are in 3rd person and can actually see their outfit. Killers can really only see their weapon and maybe hands if the outfit changes that. I think the amount of people buying Feng Min outfits dwarfs the combined number of people buying Nurse, Blight, Spirit cosmetics.

Frankenstein's monster and Dracula are public domain in terms of the characters from the novel. I don't think the universal films are unless Universal somehow missed the date to renew copyright at some point. They don't show up in any list of public domain films. But that really just means you can't use the designs universal made. You can still have Dracula or Frankenstein's monster in game with their own unique look made by behavior, just as countless games, shows, movies etc have used Dracula.. I think Copyright in the US tends to last a century? So we'd be a little under a decade from those films being public domain. The novels they come from, however, are long since public domain.
-
Probably not even though it's more powerful than OG MoM
-
The "Holiday event with nothing special for killers but a literal gameplay advantage for survivors" was honestly what made me decide I'm not really going to play anymore. One of the biggest middle fingers from a dev team I have ever seen.
-
Don't worry, you'll have 50 survivor mains here to tell us literal video proof from streams is false and actually survivor queues are lightning fast.
-
It would be nice if it could at least be fixed and not work as a counter to certain killers powers like Twins and Nemesis.
-
@Clevite said:
My solo q times beg to differ, but ok
There's two dimensions. One where people claim queues are normal and the others that claim they're very long now for survivor. . The ones I see saying it's long vary a lot. Brand new epic players, long time players, even streamers like Otz and Jund have stated they have noticed an increase in their survivor queue times. And the fact many people stream the game means there is verifiable proof that the queues are long for some people. Why this is, I don't know.
It's possible it has to do with time of queuing and region or MMR. I personally don't think anyone is lying, but I don't know why people are experiencing wildly different queue times with some having 10+ minute queues and others saying they are instant.

Honestly people with this mindset need to get some mental break outside of the game too. Most people still find dbd fun and if you really see it as a job you can't stop playing then you really need to get some help or possibly just try to practice and get better. If you want to find a game that you always win and is purely fun, there are loads of single-player games out there, but in a pvp game it is silly to act like every match needs to be super easy and win every time lol
"Just don't play our game" is absurdly cocky and a terrible idea when VHS is on the horizon. "Go to our competitor!"
There is no way to "get better" enough that you can be on par with 4 man SWF with comms. It is functionally not possible with how the game is currently designed and balanced unless you're Nurse. People who pretend this stuff is about skill are basically stating they think this game is balanced, which is laughable. If it was balanced, people wouldn't use "party game" all the time to describe it.

Native American.

It also works as a nice advantage quite often. But hey, have fun with it. Why can't you have fun when someone jumps in a snowman and remove your mark as ghost face? It's fun!
