Nothing all that major except gen rush gets worse, tunneling gets real worse, and killers run meme builds since they no longer have a meta outside of tunneling. Also weaker killers get even weaker and SWF's get stronger/
-
lol at someone making what's kind of a "can you imagine if survivors really...?" post and survivor mains jump in to go "actually yeah, we're gonna get that nerfed next! :)"

Survivors literally were so butthurt they review bombed the game to mixed on steam
No, they did it to mostly negative over overwhelming negative even on DLC's like Freddy's.

I honestly don’t know the last time I played against anything other than flashlight spamming SWFs. Literally not one game as far back as I can remember. Past couple months at least. I have to run every toxic perk in the book just to stand a chance. And when I do get the upper hand I play as hateful as possible.
I want them to hate playing this game as much as I do. I used to run all sorts of fun builds on different killers and be excited for new content.
none of that matters anymore it’s all about just scraping by on what little you can pry from the SWFs. I straight up quit half my games at this point cus it’s just not even worth wasting my free time on.
I don’t know what the root cause of this is and at this point I honestly don’t care, I hope this game will hurry up and die so a better alternative has a chance to pick up some of the legendary IPs it’s wasting. Pyramid Head and Ghostface, wasted on an unplayable game.
sad part is I don’t think it’s even the developers fault. It’s the people, toxic SWFs just logging on to ruin everyone’s day and the game, they can’t just nerf survivors because the few actual players left would suffer tremendously. It’s a lose lose for everyone involved.
before anybody replies with “skill issue” or something, the streamers are talking about it too, Otz even struggles against the crap SWFs are pulling and KING WOLFE just said F it and went full toxic. Games over man.
People will cry when they're back to 8 minute queues on survivor side like 2021 when it was so bad streamers a lot of times could not even stream survivor at peak hours because no one wanted to watch 8 minute queues. Then we can see more forum posts and steam forum posts that look like "I'm a new player. Been sitting in queue for 20 minutes. Is this game dead?"
-
Already uninstalled. I'll return if the devs decide to actually shake the meta up instead of giving placebo nerfs to survivors and basically leaving one side with no real meta.
-
One thing people always ignore with DH is the fact you get value even from not running it. The killer simply must assume you have it, or possibly lose a chase/the game by not doing so. Thus, they have to "wait it out" even if you don't have it. They just have to assume you have it because everyone runs it and it's so powerful. This is identical to how DS used to be. All killers had to play around it because you simply had to assume everyone was running it. Which meant you got a benefit from DS even by not running it at all. This was considered an issue. And people who don't play killer don't seem to get that a few second time lost can easily be the difference between a 0k and 4k.

It's a party game though, I don't like the idea of DBD taking itself super seriously and ending up like Apex Legends or Call of Duty.
This is not a party game regardless of how much you repeat that to yourself.
-
The idea is to change how the meta works. For the healing nerf to work, gen regression must be nerfed. The idea is that time spent from regression will now likely go into healing. Survivors can just choose to not heal and just gen rush, but are taking a big risk on that. I don't get why people can't understand the patch is intended to change how the game is played. Switching from the current meta to a meta where healing is more the focus.
-
I just hate the map due to how it looks. I find it the ugliest map by a long shot.
-
That's how they get clicks.

Oh?
You enjoy getting gen rushed?
Sure, it's better than the current meta. It's a change. The only other choice is find a new game that isn't the same exact stale thing for over half a decade. Also I said I don't play killer, as the post says. Survivors made that too miserable in order to have their "fun" so I just play solo survivor. I just know how to adapt my playstyle. But screaming and crying seems to work far better.
-
Plenty of people do. But like 80% of the playerbase is survivor mains, who obviously don't want sizable nerfs to themselves. So obviously, they will cry the loudest and the "majority" will be against it. But if you only listen to said majority in an asym game, you'll end up with one side being God mode and the other being unwinnable, because by design, there will always be more survivors.
I have seen very few killer players who are crying for this to go away. It's basically exclusively survivor players here. And the occasional "I totally play killer, believe me!" And like...otz and tofu. That's about it. I don't even play killer anymore and only solo queue, and I want this because after thousands of hours, things are stale and I want a sizable change that greatly shakes things up. There is also no genuine competitor to jump to so people have to just quit the genre if they want to leave.
-
I'm loving that all the "reviews" are basically
Good changes: The things that don't nerf me
Bad changes: Anything that may change how I must play.
I hope all 50 of those survivors quit. I also love the people saying "THE COMMUNITY" when what they mean is "survivor players."
-
Pretty obvious that regression was nerfed as part of healing being nerfed. Part of their attempt to change the meta. If you revert regression nerfs, you need to revert the healing ones and vise versa.
-
I'm sure they'll nerf tombstone down the line. Buff him? No.
-
If it's the start of the game? Wait a second and then hit them and wait another. If they don't come back, they're fair game, but if I see another survivor after downing the afk person, I'll just slug the afk one to occupy the teams time instead of hooking an AFK person and go after the other survivor. If it's mid game, that completely depends on the current status of the match. The vast majority of people afk at match start are AFK because they forgot they even queued. Not because they suddenly had an emergency in the 10-20 seconds in the loading screen. And if you do? Hop in a locker.
-
I want a meta shift. Sorry you don't. 6 years of the same stuff is pretty boring for those of us with hours out of the double digits.
-

I'll never understand how so many killers struggle with a half second endurance, especially when those running it move in predictable ways. They can't use it & vault or drop pallet simultaneously. All you have to do is not act like a dog slobbering over a treat. & I barely even use DH ever. 🤷♂️
I'll never understand why the majority of survivors run a perk that apparently isn't very good, barely works, and is super easy to counter. Real strange.
-
I am bored of this meta. Bring on the new one
-
Wow it's almost like they want to entirely change the meta.
-
When you have thousands of hours, you learn about the game deeply. You learn its mechanics, and everything about it. Possibly as well as the devs do. At that point you can see the imbalances. And then you see the devs basically vocally saying they don't believe that/will never ever ever change it. So, then you just leave since the devs are clearly not going to fix things, and you have enough hours to see this stuff.
I very much felt that way during the ol' "Hockey Analogy" stream
-
My opinion is that these changes are good, because the meta is stale and a shake up is good. People are viewing things one sided. There are changes to everyone. It is obvious these changes are meant to alter the meta strongly. My second opinion is that if they go back, then there likely will never be meaningful changes to survivors, as backing off on this would be a clear sign that, if survivors whine loud enough, they WILL get their way. Which means no huge changes/nerfs can ever go through.
The Hillbilly nerf is silly, though. Who even complained? I can't even recall the last time I saw a billy. He replaced Twins for "least seen killer" for me.
-
Various reasons
Targeted harassment over multiple games
Streamers being able to hide their name to avoid being recognized
People who don't want to possibly appear in some guys youtube video, and can atleast block their name.
I do think the feature could have worked better, though.
-
Record anyone who does that and report them. That is actually bannable.
-
It's honestly fine now. Do remember that the killer was without a perk the entire game. And said perk can be entirely prevented from ever activating.
-
@Bwsted said:
I called it on day one. I know these thingz.
Don't worry though, it's ok because nobody is responsible for anyone's fun here, just entitled to make the game more miserable for everyone.
If someones fun is my responsibility, then that is called a job. What is my salary?
-
I agree. The bleed out timer should be 90% faster so as to prevent survivors from having to wait to die. I get the feeling the actual desire here is basically "make it impossible to kill me this way
-
They want to swap up the meta. Many have asked for that.
-
I don't get how people randomly get banned. I have one warning ever, but 1500+ posts. And I don't generally sugarcoat my posts.
-
Yeah a large company with 5000+ employees needs donations. lol
-
Saying the game is a party game is just a cope. The game is a competitive game. Go to the dictionary. It is the definition. A competition does not have to be balanced/fair/whatever criteria others put on it. If two or more people are versing each other for a prize/win only one can achieve (be they a team or individual) is a competition.
Compete
verb (used without object), com·pet·ed, com·pet·ing.
to strive to outdo another for acknowledgment, a prize, supremacy, profit, etc.; engage in a contest.
Note that fairness, balance, etc isn't mentioned.
Also how does one play DBD at a party? LAN set up? Does this game even support that?
-
Spirit has no real reason to be a killer. Twins are also suspect as one, as is Carmina. Most of the female killers didn't really belong as a killer outside of Julie and Amanda. Until Skull Merchant

@BritneyMitch said:
dead hard isn’t even that strong right now. Generally it’s just used to punish killers that are playing like pieces of #########. Kind of like DS. Killers are gonna be pretty frustrated when they realize lithe/lucky break, flashbang/lithe is stronger anyway. Hell I think if you get good at the game theres an argument that spring burst and balanced landing is 100X more cancerous as well.
No one believes that the entire survivor playerbase was "playing easy" and using dead hard out of some goodness of their heart lol
-
There is nothing that can be done.
-
Sorry you got here really late. It's been top tier for 6 years
-
Apparently solo q has always been worse than getting a root canal with no pain meds, so I really don't see what changes. I also don't get why these people play solo Q
-
You did ask when we'd be out of the horrible meta and get another one. Here it is.
-
@ehe said:
The thing with a meta shakeup is that theres supposed to be a new meta to replace it.with this patch, slowdown perks for killer are even viable anymore? They gutted the entire gen kick meta and pain res. On otz's tier list, formerly there were five slowdown perks 4 stars or above; now 3 of them have been obliterated, leaving just deadlock and corrupt to pick up the pieces.
and nobody likes dealing with deadlock.
this "meta shakeup" patch was really only a shakeup for survivors, with the long awaited dead hard nerf deleting it. Otherwise, it was a *complete, global saturation* of a killer nerf.
No more regression? be prepared to see wayyy more noeds. the gens are popping, so people will bring all the endgame bs.
Builds will probably change to corrupt, deadlock, NWO. Maybe jolt on the M1's.

They want their unearned 3rd health state and free healing so taking a hit has minimal consequence.
Honestly, I suspect their dream games would be a Trapper who constantly whiffs and steps into his own traps, while eating blinds from Flashlights and bangs.
The dream game is a Billy who never M1's for any reason, but is terrible so he misses his chainsaws, which makes the survivor feel epic and like they just bamboozled the killer.
-
@Grum said:
Maybe actually consider why the usage rates are what they are, before making changes. For example:
Billy has two good addons - those addons naturally have high usage rate *because the rest of his addons suck* and those two are almost required to make him feel decent to play. Those addons get nerfed.
Blight basically has no bad addons - the usage rate is spread pretty even because you can basically pick any addons and end up busted strong. No Blight addons nerf.
Dead Hard has high usage rate because it's the only exhaustion perk that introduces any kind of mind gameable interaction with the killer, as oppose to simply rocketing away and making them immediately drop chase. Nerfed, no fun alternatives. Even if people wanted to pretend there was nothing you could do against it at pallets (there was), the sensible change would be to make it so pallets couldn't be dropped for a short delay after using it.
I don't use DH because of mind games. I use it because it is a 3rd health state and objectively superior to all other exhaustion perks. Now it isn't.
-
I enjoy any shake up.
-
One of the biggest causes of "meanie killer tactics" is the fact there isn't a reason to be nice. None can be given. You play nice and you WILL be taken advantage of. Period. I play nice with some Nemesis build with meme perks, and I get tbagged and insulted post game. So, what is my reason to not play ultra sweaty Blight? What is my incentive to not camp and tunnel? There isn't one. If I try to be nice, I'll just lose AND be insulted. Playing nice results in me often experiencing one of the two
- Get tbagged and lose
- Win, but survivors still tbag all game and talk crap post game.
Might as well just play hard. It is quite clear that playing nice is not appreciated. You can say "Not all survivor players are like that." And that is true. but clearly enough are that most killers have experienced it at least one.
-
Asking for a rework is essentially the same as asking for a free chapter. "Reworking" is basically delete the character and make a new one with the same look and name. Since clearly people feel nothing but a completely change of her is gonna fix things. That's a lot of dev time for 0 return.
-
Because trying to punish killers for their strategies has worked super well so far. What's that, another "TUNNELING IS WORSE THAN EVER" video on youtube, after basekit BT?
This just makes killers double down. Also if the hook timer pauses then I can effectively hold you hostage as Bubba in the basement.
-
My general belief is that it's not fixable without some assistance from Valve, who likely doesn't care. This seems to exclusively happen on the steam version. So, if they cannot fix it, then the only other solution is denial.
-
The fact it seems unique to the steam version indicates to me that it's something that might require valve to assist/fix. And I don't see their incentive.
-
Because balance is tied to FOV. Why would you ever not have it at max? Just to handicap yourself?
-
Buff the current one. Old Freddy was BAD. Possibly the worst killer ever made. The only reason to go back to that is for nostalgia for a handful of people who played him back then. And they'd become bored of it again after a few days, and he'd go back to never being used.
