I wonder how long killers will blame survivors for their own mistake. Always crying about genrushing when they simply didn't go to gens to stop them and committed to a chase for too long.
Just to point out this isn't a 'one side does this' thing; it's both.

What delay do you mean exactly?
Pyramid tehnically has multiple delays when going for a shot.
I think he's referring to the fact it acts as a projectile rather than being hitscan; it appears just a moment before dealing damage. However he's really underselling how powerful it is and how hard it is to dodge by a large margin.

Your mistake is thinking the Devs care about Killers.
Just wait; they'll eventually address the complaints about 'camping', 'slugging', and 'tunneling' being 'unfun', and it will get harder for Killer's to win. Survivors will smugly say that this is 'part of the game' whenever a Killer gets upset. (Notice how it's never 'part of the game' when a Survivor is unhappy).
Then Survivors will start bitterly whining about how dying is 'unfun' and Killers will then have to ask permission to attack Survivors.
They've literally just gigabuffed tunneling the last two patches but ok.

Yeah a perk that stops the killer from tunneling? You're right its so toxic to killers who's egos the game devs cater to. BT is only 12 seconds long on tier 3 and is really a counter to tunneling. If you have an issue with it maybe stop tunneling? Food for thought
It doens't even successfully prevent tunneling if they just wait...
-
Yeah I feel like I always get cucked out of grabs, but also laggy killers get to grab me when I've been in the running animation for a clean second.
-
Good job that it's very rare that all 4 survivors are running the same meta stuff.
-
I have pretty good success with him on most maps. Only indoor maps really cuck him, and even then, long corridors are massively in his favour. Doorways are hell, however.
-
I'd love Jill, tbh. We're likely getting Leon. It definitely seems we're getting a male survivor, and he's the most popular character, imo.
If we get a male and a female survivor, though...Jill or Ada would be awesome! Claire is a cool choice too, tbh.

@Freddo said:
Sorry im asking, but are you complaining about the add-on Coconut is using in the video or are you talking about the Plague blie add-on?
Neither; I'm saying it should only be possible if both the turn rate addons are being used and even then, it's still giving much higher degrees of control than we've been told is intended. Apologies, I guess I didn't make what I was trying to get across very clear.
Edit: I also confused the canker thorn with the plague bile in the OP, my mistake, but that honestly makes it even worse, imo, since he has higher degree of turning without using Umbra Salts or Plague Bile than he was ever meant to have with both those add-ons stacked together on release.
@Yords it is not supposed to be possible flick multiple times in a single rush, That is what is happening, allowing the player to turn an insane amount and basically completely counter any possible counterplay to his power. This becoming a commonplace mechanic to use will break the killer entirely and ultimately, make the game feel unhealthy when he's in the game, also affecting the statistics the devs use to decide on killer power level. Likely this would lead to nerfs that butcher the Blight rather than just a fix to this issue, which I doubt anyone really wants.
-
I'd be wary about decreasing charge time outside of Mother's Helpers, tbh. There's a reason these add-ons got changed.
Mother's helpers is great, but the Carburator currently isn't worth it...I think it just needs to have a new effect altogether.
-
Play as you would want the killer to play while you're survivor.
If you don't, and end up being a dick about it, you can't really expect much different since it would be hypocritical af.

The reason people complain about bt is because the person who get off the hook can use it to body block the killer, And the only way for the killer to counter that is wait out the full 15 sec and then hit you. And the that mean the killer tunneling you. The reason we complain is because a perk designed to give you a protection agains tunneling acctualy punish the killer for trying to not tunnel you. Would just be fine if they kept BT as it is but also disable collision with the killer when you affected by it.
Hey, I'm all for removing collision from the unhooked survivor in exchange for the perk actually working. But honestly, I'd say the body blocking is perfectly viable and fine, personally, since it means the killer doesn't get a ton of free pressure for having camped.

I would decrease the base Fatigue duration instead of just making the add-ons better, also instead of increasing the Feral Frenzy duration I would increase their Feral Frenzy movement speed to something like 5.6m/s | 140%.
Would be cool if Deep Wounds from the Legion's power specifically made you deaf instead of blind, like the Hag's add-on.
That's actually the change I meant, kind of like how Demo got a base kit buff toward Rat Liver and a nerf to the add-on, so that they're not as add-on dependent. I may have written this while a bit tipsy so it may not be as coherent as I'd like!

if the traps were shorter, you wouldn't be able to trigger them on purpose and run away without getting hit.
also, they are not big at all.
You can't intentionally trigger them and run away unless the Hag is unable to teleport or is out of range at the time, since they can instantly teleport and hit you otherwise, and will always be in range unless they have the trap trigger range add-ons.

I'm saying if you are going to queue up and quit because you can't handle facing something you don't like, then just don't queue up in the first place and go play something else.
If you do decide to queue up and get into the match, just play it out.
Leaving early when there's only one other survivor left is a valid tactic that is actually optimal to increase their chances of surviving.
Going against a cheater (and this includes people abusing VPNs) and not wanting to play it out is perfectly valid.
Having your ability to play the game completely removed is perfectly valid.
Recognising your team is dying around you too quickly and giving up, is perfectly valid.
As killer, recognising that you have no chance and choosing to give up, is perfectly valid.
I wouldn't do these things, but I've never had an issue with them.

If you don't want play DBD, don't play DBD.
Stop queueing up and quitting because you don't like what the killer/map/etc
You're telling me that choosing to elave the game when your ability to play the game is being removed, is not wanting to play...LMAO
Stop strawmanning; I don't even kill myself on hook or DC whether I play survivor or killer. I'm just on the side of player agency.

That is actually astounding. I've played on 4 different servers across multiple times, the biggest two being my own AU and my NA West test server, and I can without a shadow of a doubt tell your I that I almost never come across killers kebabing.
Edit: I play on LA servers to test cultural differences. They exist, but they aren't BM related.
It didn't happen much in Oce/AU, but that server was plagued by rampant sweatiness that made the game feel stale, anyway.
EU just kind of gets the worst of it. With such a large population to draw from and the fact that its the main server that people will tend to VPN toward, it ends up being an incredibly toxic cesspool.

A killer who is tunneling and/or camping is still playing the game.
If you aren't enjoying DBD and/or PVP, then just stop playing the game. Suiciding whenever anything you don't like happens is hurting the other survivors, because they can't control that they got matched with a baby.
Removing someone's ability to play the game is removing their agency. It's as simple as that.

that the survivor fault not body blocking or using BT, not only that you should have you exhaustion perk once you get saved. unless you teammate saved you way to early and that on them. If you get camped y our team should be doing gens instead of all rushing to the hook against that bubba.
I love people that do this: they complain about BT, but then defend their actions with 'should have used BT' when the simple truth is that the latest change caused BT to lose its functionality anyway lmao
-
Noone claims to have heavy camping/tunnelling in every game.
I do, however, see it in well over half of my games when I'm survivor, but once in a blue moon when I'm killer because I only care to suck the fun out of the game for toxic people.
(If I'm at all seen teabagging the killer it's because they've been going out of their way to get me out of the game since the moment they saw me and were being rather blatant/toxic about it, too)
-
Uhhh survivors need to escape to keep the gnome....This is kind of embarassing; they can't have known that was what you wanted.
-
Your spawn location gives you a good idea of where survivors will spawn...watch for crows, as in the first 20 or so seconds, survivors tend to be more careful about being seen. It's that simple.
You will lose a gen or two in your first chase, even if it is over rather quickly, but this is at the cost of some major map pressure; once you get your hooks going there is a real snowball phase and how you make decisions in the first minute and truly make or break this. It just takes practise.
Survivors spawning together is the wet dream of any killer player that understands how this game works. Be gleeful when you find that this has happened.
-
@Zozzy said:
Here is a fun story. I cleared one side of the map of most pallets and the survivors screwed up and didn't do the gens on the side they were being chased the most. This lead to a 4 gen.
When the survivors attempted to bait me away do you think they ran me to an unsafe area where they could buy a little time for the save and heal, or do you think they tried to bait me to the empty part if the map full of pallets?
Killers are not robots.
This being said, tunnelling has become insane in solo q and i seem to be the only one running decisive strike. Perhaps if survivors stopped pouting and ran it again, things would change.
Running DS doesn't do anything about tunneling; it literally doesn't punish or counter it in any way; hell, it's very easy to deactivate it by accident because of incredibly bad thought processes in its nerf.

In those 12 seconds, a survivor can run up to a maximum of 48 meters therefore making it to almost any safe tile in the map if they have good pathing.
*looks at map design*
-
Killers are toxic, too. Your point? This community is awful, for the most part. Don't expect anything different.
-
I know for a fact that most of the people denying your right to leave games in various situations are also the same people that complain about the idea that dealing with camping and tunnelling would affect killer player agency. Oh the irony.
-
For me it didn't seem bugged. Have you been getting a lot of Doctor players or something, as that can have you hear a TR when one isn't present? I think stealth killers using their power will affect this even if you still hear the TR>
-
If you tap self-healing or tap healing on someone else by accident, tap on a gen or totem, your perk is yeeted out of existence because apparently having a milisecond to tap a button means you're not being tunneled.
The devs got lazy and didn't think this through. Frustrating as hell, and I don't even use the perk in the first place.
-
Killers with ######### internet or high ping get favoured.
EU is plagued by VPN using killers abusing this fact in order to cheat and get easy games.

Do you actually see it that often, or are you sufferring from confirmation bias?
I see it in more than half of my games.
-
They generally do it because they recognise they're not as good as the person on the hook but want to tell them they're better. That is, they want to be toxic and make the survivor feel bad. In my experience, at least.
-
Strong perks; nothing wrong with this. Sloppy alone can carry a game for a killer.
Blood Echo can some in insanely clutch and denying all stealth perks is insanely powerful. Of course one needs to play well to get this much value, so it's pretty well designed, imo.
Dead hard is awful to go against. I hope it gets reworked (but also made more consistent at the same time) at some point.

Jill is easily my top choice (though they wouldn't use the actress from the remakes of 1 and 2, they'd go with that hardass chick from 3. Not my JIll)! Why don't you like Chis? It's the boulder thing, right? :P
I just can't relate to his personality; he's too militaristic compared to the other possibilities, for me, at least!
-
*revert the timer neft on it, because right now most killers can circumvent it very easily.

being reset from k8 to k19 made me feel terrible, but then i started being given... you know, r20 survivors in matchmaking
and besides the occasional higher rank person who insults me for being rank 19 (which i report because, y'know, that's ugly) i'm actually having a grand old time going easy on people and having them "go easy" on me in return.
i've had nothing but fun matches back to back where the survivors have been so easy that i've just gotten to meme around with them. and for the first time in my life, when i've let multiple survivors escape... one of them came back and gestured for me to hook them, letting me get a kill in a match that i very blatantly threw.
for context, two of jane's teammates were on hook during EGC and i'd found her. she put her medkit down, so i just teabagged on it with ghostface. she went and unhooked her team and they all escaped, then she came back and beckoned me, then pointed at the hook.
this is the first time i've ever actually seen a survivor let themself die to play nice after i've played nice with them.
i have yet to see a survivor let themself die after their team's stomped me, but hey, there's always the possibility, right?
anyway... seems to have been a blessing in disguise. i'm having tons of fun. i wish i could manually reset my rank! i'd do it way often.
It's not that rare that survivors give blatantly friendly killers a kill when they either seem bad or aren't taking things seriously; I've seen this aplenty as both killer and survivor over the years, and often am that survivor, tbh.
I've always found that it's very rare that I can't go easy on survivors, even at red rank so I can't relate that much outside of the time that I was much more new to the game, tbh.
This bug is crazy but IDK if bhvr even have the logs to fix it...we never know with this dev company tbh. xD

Oh don't get me wrong, Wesker is pathetic. He's just iconic, that's all.
I see lots of requests for Kennedy and Claire, which is fine because I like them all too, but I actually haven't seen many people expressing hope for Jill and even Ethan's getting more love than Chris (which I guess is fine, as I love RE7). I guess Barry's kind of a joke vote but no one seems to even remember that he exists.
I mean it's fine, if Leon and Claire are the popular wishes for survivors so be it, I have nothing against them. I'm just surprised that relatively few people are going with the original team. To me an RE pack with Jill and Chris seems like a natural choice, but then there's no doubting the popularity of the RE2 team either.
Jill and Chris would make perfect sense, although I can't stand Chris personally. I hope we get a male and a female, including Jill.
-
Lady D would be awful and also I doubt it would happen as it would likely affect RE 8 sales in the eyes of CAPCOM.
In addition to this, the trailer had a male survivor and clovers. The clovers imply the Spencer mansion from RE1 and, if the characters are to be from RE1, then the survivor would likely be Chris Redfield (I'd prefer Leon. Jill or Ada, personally)
if they stick to RE1, the killer would likely be...Wesker maybe? As...the Tyrant, although technically that doesn't happen until RE4.
Clovers are used in reference in RE2, which could mean it's likely we get Leon.
Honestly, I cba to guess and I'd rather wait until the stream, as I could get my hopes up, etc, plus idk what power we could possible get that wouldn't either be grossly overpowered or underwhelming AF.
But it's most likely old-school RE over new RE.
-
-Stop punishing the Legion for getting successful M1's by removing part of their power.
-Either lower the stun duration to be the same as that of the Nurse or buff Joey's Mix Tape and Cold Dirt to compensate for how much of a punishment it is to end frenzy.
-Increase the base duration of Feral Frenzy with the trade-off that the add-ons that increase its duration are lowered. They are far too heavily dependent on these add-ons in order to function. (I say this as a rank 1 killer that uses no add-ons on Legion; too often do you get no value from their power)
-Make the Killer Instinct range add-ons do something actually useful (it gives too vague information to be helpful and anything out of TR range is going to take to long to reach...and you can't even tell how far off a survivor is in this mode) such as slightly increasing vault speed in FF, for example.
-Not technically a change specifically to Legion, but the effects of Deep Wounds need to be toned down. They're obnoxious, especially when you consider that in chase, a good survivor will have to stand in place on certain loops, etc, so it ticks down and becomes almost impossible to see even where they're going at times.
Honestly, I'm not sure much else is necessary. These are quite a few changes, but it would finally make the killer not feel clunky and wouldn't break the game, but allow them to be much more viable against decent teams. Really, it's pretty much the Demogorgon mid-chapter treatment that we just saw.
I hope a dev sees these types of suggestions ASAP, tbh. I love Legion and want them to be better.
-
On the flip side to what people are saying about the rank reset bug, idk if you have already, but make sure to get your free 250k BP by going to the store ingame, pressing the 'redeem code' button and typing in 'RANKROULETTE' and you could spend those on a killer you fancy playing to have a bit of a better chance. :)
I hope you manage to get a better experience because honestly, this game may have some major flaws, but it's a great game and any new blood with a fresh outlook is always good, imo.
-
Honestly, I think the biggest issue is that they try to theme their balance patches and as such, the state of the game suffers since things that need fixing or changing ASAP get neglected multiple updates in a row. This wouldn't be an issue if we got balance patches more often (the current rate is actually OK, assuming that every patch, chapter and mid-chapter, comes with varied and necessary changes, tbh, though)
This idea would definitely help, too, however. They may actually have something like this in place, but not to the extent that is necessary, for sure.

maybe you're right.. it's just 1 button. doesnt require any experience in the game. you dont gotta time it right .. you dont gotta know when to use it .. etc. etc... JOKE.
but thanks for commenting anyways.
DH honestly breaks the game when someone experienced uses it, tbh.

"with your experience and correct timing"
... girl... its pressing E and zooming. No experience needed.
Also I haven't seen that bug yet, sometimes people dead hard completely wrong and the killer can m1 them at the end of the animation.
While I despise Dead Hard, it does require good timing. But that's the only skill in it when used to dodge a hit. A good runner using the perk is obscene, though, since they can either make up for their mistake in losing distance by using it without needing to dodge a hit directly or can be greedy for that extra loop on an obnoxiously long tile.
Just because you don't want to accept it happens, this is actually a thing, that one can even see as killer or as another survivor watching the chase from nearby, regularly: they begin using dead hard, the animation gets to about halfway, then they get downed anyway. It always feels gross when I hit through it, but at the same time I don't care that much since, as I said, I despise that perk.
It needs changing to be more fair for killers and consistent for survivors, tbh.

@BrokenSouI said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/249178/borrowed-time-change
I think it's more of a "DS" syndrome. People have that invincibility. So they feel the need to abuse it by trying to body block and use it offensively. Instead of getting out of town while their partner gets chased. Like it's intended to be.
Except the issue is this doesn't allow actual defensive play whatsoever; the wait time is miniscule and a survivor can just be bodyblocked by a kliller for the entirety, with some questionable interactions for certain killers as with Deathslinger.
I agree, protecting the unhooker makes no sense at all; it's clear why it doesn't work like this and single use per trial would be grossly underpowered for its purpose, just as the latest change has caused it to be anyway.

It's interesting to see that these few seconds actually made all the difference. I did notice it's a bit less effective against tunneling, definitely. I didn't even realize the Deathslinger and Victor work-arounds. Maybe it could use another look at it.
Yes, it definitely needs another look, for sure.
I agree with above: range could have maybe been enough, but then we need to take into account high mobility killers and hag as well. I really hope we get another iteration next patch or one that comes with the next hotfix (should we get one) as it's kind of an important perk for the game's health.
-
No. Only way to overtake Spirit and Nurse is to remove counterplay and interactivity entirely. No such move was made. In fact, in one such case, a bug has been removed as it actually did factor into such an issue.

The trailer we got implies one, specifically Spencer Mansion, and I hope we do get one, but I'm prepared to be disappointed as they're still working on hamfisting awful map reworks into the game.
