Nothing wrong with it. It's overkill vs anything that isn't an insanely organised 3+ man SWF, but that's a separate issue rather than a problem with the build. I use it if I want to just play some chill killer games while acting out my innermost desire of repeatedly hitting my head off walls.
-
Did he do a new experiment or are we talking about the one from months ago?
I 100% agreed with the issues he has with it; I've always said powerful game changing effects like this should either be earned.

I would not consider releasing DLC with just one character a major patch. A major match to me would be a killer, at least one Survivor, and a map (or a map update).
So it made sense when they called their smaller DLCs a paragraph rather then a full Chapter. The time of release of said DLC shouldn't decide what the DLC is called.
Fair enough, I'd agree maps definitely make the chapters feel more fleshed out and meaningful, but to be fair, do we really want another RPD? That map should be the one to go, not Hawkins - and I don't even like that one either :'(

If it's a killer with unique mechanics, I'd say it is a major patch personally. Pinhead definitely fits that bill!
Just a survivor, however, I agree. And we are supposedly getting a survivor paragraph in the mid-chapter, which fits with what you seem to be saying a pargraph vs a chapter is if I'm not mistaken.
-
The major patch is always the chapter, rather than the DLC in and of itself, but usually the DLC is named as such for easier means.
There is a leak from a good source suggesting that we're getting a non-licensed paragraph in the midchapter anyway, so it'll end up evening out.

Probably not. They don't really listen to Otz despite him being one of the most positive influences on the community and even being a fog whisperer. I hope so, though.
If anything, I expect the colourblind backlash effect at best.

We're playing two different versions of dbd then. Magic land where you have time to waste all 4 vaccines before game ends
When i'm playing Nemesis, the 4 vaccines are usually used in maybe the first 2 minutes...he's best at spreading the pressure, meaning you have more time as survivors will typically waste it vaccinating early on, and by the time they've all used them, you're tier 3 and at this point, his power is incredibly strong. And the zombies always seem to buy me some time by pressuring gens I can't get to for me.

I actually have no problem with the pallets probably because of my ping being so low.
I have very low ping. Past few days, it's been hell with pallets, though.
-
Hitboxes are fine in general; latency and server coding mixed intogether are the issue. At least they're slowly, step by step, trying to fix this.
Hatchets probably should be a bit thinner, but taller to compensate (but that could cause issue with terrain, idk, but I love going against a good huntress that isn't laggy as all hell, so I'm not going to complain about how they are right now because of people with horrific internet - that's another issue that they need to continue focusing on...quick fix is to simply stop people using VPN's, though or not let them get a match above x ping, because nowhere in the world has 300+ ping to their nearest DBD server)
That said, the most recent validation change they made to pallet hits/stuns...seems to have been reverted. Literally every game I get hit through pallets so long after I dropped them, it's becoming a joke - legitimately worse than it was before the change. Yet for a week or so, it was working perfectly.
-
My only issue with Blight is the bug that people like to abuse to give him ridiculous turn rate with no turn rate add-ons; he's a fun experience, and no killer is fun when they run ruin/undying/tinkerer in a solo queue setup because you're relying on your teammates being intelligent enough to actually do gens separately.
Otherwise, the build in itself is fine...but that's kind of the issue: it's only OK in the setting where survivors are impossible to beat without a sweaty/unfun nurse or spirit player.
I guess I'm biased, being a bouncy boi main, though.

The devs hold QA hostage over it all just sayin. Bhvr hired some QA in the last year and as a player with 3000 hours, I haven't seen the needed improvement to QoL and overall direction of the game.
Game is stale, devs are stale, QA can't do anything except what they're told it seems to me.
As a player with 2k hours I 100% agree.
-
The PTB is important to catch and major bugs that would completely stop the game from working. Albeit, plenty still get through for whatever reason (I personally question if QA is even involved at this stage of feedback, tbh, because it really should be)
Also the PTB state is usually about 2 weeks behind in the actual state of the game that the devs have on-hand, and provides a buffer to get any balance changes they have planned sorted before it goes live.
-
Yes
No
Yes
No (but I don't think they're too far off anymore)
-
Both sides like both extra points and to bully the other side. It's a depressing state of this community.
-
I wish I was getting Blight every game when I played survivor, tbh.
That said, getting ultra sweat killers when your teammates aren't correctly placed is exactly how the matchmaking already works, but exacerbated somehow lol. I don't want the new system; I've been against it all along, because it just amplifies the toxic feelings you get from frustrating games.
-
100% feels like a lot of people are ok with DC penalties for this reason. But I don't believe the penalty is even active right now unless it was reactivated with the SBMM test. Personally, I think that it should stay off forever.
-
Yes and no.
Zombies are a bad addition. RNG has no place in the potential of a killer's mechanics, especially when it can be very oppressive.
Tier 1 for Nemesis is very meh; I'd rather they change the power curve for the tiers a little bit for this reason.
Also I think some of the more pointless add-ons could be replaced to add some range add-ons, up to maybe a maximum of 8-10 meters at tier 3, depending on how it affects balance.
The Claire skin is also disappointing; it looks like she's eaten bees and in dire need of some antihistamines.
Overall, perk options are decent, can't complain, for both sides. Lethal Pursuer and Flashbang are some of my favourite new perks.
Jill and Leon both look great, the prestige skins are also pretty good, although I don't feel the voice for Leon fits, but that's very minor and probably just my opinion tbh (it feels like he appeals to Steve players and we all know that stereotype :P )
I think Nemesis is pretty strong, albeit oppressive to play against (a catch 22 which I'm not that happy with, but at least he's fun and satisfying to play as)
His M1 feels weirdly weak, so I'm not sure where they're going with that, but again, it's a minor audio/visual decision that I just personally don't like.
So yeah, as far as adding a killer I'd play, it's a success.
As for as perks for both sides, 100% a positive DLC.
It could do with some tweaking, but as far as a DBD DLC goes, this was a good one, even if it is hampered by the legacy of the bug ridden patch that it came with.
I got the 3 characters I wanted for survivors, although one of those 3 I won't be getting the skin for until it's been changed.

So constant killer nerfs, right?
5.1.x brought with it Trickster buffs- which are now indisputably buffs after 5.1.x, as well as buffing killer perks "Hex: Crowd Control" and "No Way Out". Furthermore it brought with it a fix to grabs, which has been needed for a long time. Yes, pallet validation was also brought in, however this is less nerfing killers and more fixing an inequality that shouldn't have existed in the first place.
The way sound is effected by perks was buffed in the survivor's favour, that I will give. So far we're 1 for 1 on buffs and no nerfs yet.
Keys with 0 charges can now no longer open the Hatch- so there's our first survivor nerf.
5.0.x brought with it, obviously, Resident Evil- a map that is awful for both sides (so no points to either), good-ish survivor perks and good-ish killer perks (nothing meta though), and a meh killer. No points to either side. 5.0.0 did have some demo nerfs, so that's our first official killer nerf (current score is 1, 1, 1, 1; not looking good for the claim of "nothing but killer nerfs"), as well as the Franklin's change (which was a buff to all but keys- which has now been fixed), alongside the Lucky Break nerf. So that's 1 buff point to killer and 1 nerf point to survivors- they'll be getting a buff point soon.
I'll go one further back too because I cannot be bothered to do more- 4.7.x. Demogorgon got buffed- you cannot even attempt to argue it wasn't a buff- though there were also the Coldwind changes which are a survivor buff (since they somehow made them safer???). Current score of 2, 2, 2, 1. 4.7.x had more Trickster buffs, though this is slightly offset through a Twins nerf (which itself brought a Twins buff, though not enough to offset the extent of the nerf, as I'm only counting volume here I'm including it). We got a nerf to Freddy and pass to Huntress, giving her a couple of better add-ons but removing Iri Head and 90 second exhaustion- so this is both. (2, 5, 2, 3; SB, KB, SN, KN). Lucky Break got it's original buff, alongside a nerf to keys, Soul Guard, and OOO. BT was buffed, alongside Small Game and Open Handed, and Zanshin was there somewhere too. Final total for this paragraph is (6, 6, 4, 3; SB, KB, SN, KN).
And, uh, that's as far as I can be asked to go. 6 survivor buffs, alongside 4 survivor nerfs. 6 killer buffs, alongsider 3 killer nerfs. Going on the theory that a buff to one side is a nerf to the other, these can be combined into 9 survivor buffs and 10 killer buffs.
Remember, killers are constantly being nerfed.
One thing I'd dispute is that the compensation nerf to BT actually kind of ruined its use in a lot of cases, as the killer waiting to hit them needs to wait 4 seconds less than they used to! (For context, if a slinger spears you off the hook, now before it would break, your BT timer would run out)

I have never seen a more inconsistent killer, the rate at which you can bump into things and simply slide right off as if you were covered in butter is ridiculous. This isn't a small non issue, this is a tremendous issue that can lose you games. Never mind that you are somehow expected to memorize EVERY SINGLE collision in the game to know what you apparently are allowed to collide with or not, some of them aren't even consistent like Killer Shack. Sometimes you hit and sometimes you slide right off.
It's inexcusable and it is an absolute tragedy because he is SO CLOSE to being perfect, the Devs made him feel great on console and he has an incredibly high skill ceiling while also being incredibly fun. It's this one major issue that holds him back from being in the top 3 killers in terms of pure fun and skill.
If any Developers read this, PLEASE update and fix Blights collision. Sliding off solid objects you directly run into and losing multiple downs/gens because of this throughout the match is not fun and is only frustrating.
Please fix him, it's this close to being wonderful and no one who plays him wants him to stay this way. His power is simply inconsistent, it just does not work sometimes.
Yes please, fix this while removing Z-flicks and he'll be the perfect killer. <3

The thing is, this is an example of double standards.
Most players accept spirit as strong because she's easy to pick up in comparison to how strong she is, which is apparently why she needs a nerf some people say. But dead hard is fine?
Dead hard either needs the I frames removing and increase distance.
Or,
Keep I frames but remove distance.
The distance is what makes it obnoxious, to be honest. It erases mistakes and multiple microplays that lead to an overall outplay by the killer.
Granted, it is often buggy and doesn't function properly, but that's a different conversation altogether.
-
Sounds like the killer was friends with the 3 man. Unless you have video evidence, don't bother reporting, though (last time I tried to do that I waited about 3 months to get a response by which point my evidence was deleted, so I gave up)

Although honestly, I doubt it would be easy to get the rights to make a FNAF chapter atm.

It's weird, the complaints I got from survivors happened even if we WON.
The first post-match feedback I ever got, when I was like a week new to the game, was when I was sent to Lery's hospital for maybe the second or third time. The opponent was Demo. I didn't know the map and, I guess, did stay a bit more on the periphery than I should have. But I tried to contribute, I tried really hard to find gens while Demo was skilled enough to get one player to ragequit almost immediately, bringing us to a huge disadvantage right from the start. Meanwhile I'm trying to learn the layout, find the gens, avoid the killer, and a much more experienced player is doing the gens before I can find them. So the match ends (we lost), the KILLER says good game and even apologizes for our disconnect, but all the other remaining survivor has to say is "wow, what a ######### team. One DC and oh hey Mike thanks for just hiding all match while I did all the gens. Useless".
Then, on some other day in some other match, we win, but that's still not enough. "Hey Meg, good job not contributing to the match at all", despite the fact that our point totals were like a thousand apart.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2244647#Comment_2244647
You ARE correct about this. I find complaints about "genrushing" equivalent to complaints about the killer hitting a person again right after they've just been unhooked. I mean that's what they're supposed to do, isn't it?
What does "genrushing" even mean? It sounds like a catch-all buzzword that simply means "the survivors are effective and I don't like that". I mean I prefer to explore and check out the layout for a short time myself but what are survivors supposed to do, wait an arbitrary amount of time just standing there until the killer feels that they've had an adequate chance to get a few hooks in?
Yeah it's pretty much a catch-all term used to reference the original form of BNP's that I, and in fact, the majority of the player base, wasn't even around to bear witness to. Except now it's used out of context to complain about survivors trying to survive, just as some killers get mad at people being good loopers and them not going off to find the inevitable weak link/s.
Don't get me wrong, there are games that feel unwinnable because survivors are seemingly being incredibly efficient and splitting up on the gens. But it's always because it's a huge map and they all spawned apart, which is something the devs in the past claimed shouldn't happen at base. But the fact is, that games where I see this complaint about 'gen rushing' or 'SWFs' are always games where the survivors spawned together but did gens incredibly slowly. (Look at the latest Tru3 debacle with ScottJund where he literally points out that as Nurse he only got 6 hooks in a 12 minute match before the generators were completed...that's not genrushing or because of SWFs but he complained about both lmao)
That actually leads onto a minor change that I want: both of the shroud add-ons that change spawns of survivors (other than the 'opposite end of the map to killer' one) should be available to both sides. That killers can shoot themselves in the foot when they're brand new to the game by forcing survivors to spawn separately around the map is ridiculous.
-
Noone is complaining about BBQ. It hasn't been nerfed since the point in which there was zero counter to it, years ago. It's not getting nerfed ever.
Only issue is the discrepancy of stack gains, which isn't a call to make it harder to get BBQ stacks, but for easier WGLF stacks. Healing other survivors should count and even then it'll still be easier to get all stacks as killer because it's natural progression. Perhaps x amount of chase would also count toward stacks, idk.

I have found no where that says that not have i found any evidence of it.
So idk what your getting that from.
Typically when a killer's movement speed is buffed pre-lunge (look at demo, for example) it actually means they're moving faster with their lunge and hence, can go further in the same amount of time with it. Buffing his base speed did 100% buff his lunge.

I definitely wouldn't know, as it's my weakest point while playing this game.
And to be fair I will cop to the fact that if I WERE better at looping I wouldn't hate the Wraith as much as I do know, it's totally valid to say that I need to get better (I'm only about 400 hours in). That said, he didn't feel profoundly cheap before and now he does. That's all I know. I start a match, I carefully make my way around trying to ascertain who the killer is, I try not to jump on a gen right away. Eventually I get on one, or join someone else on OH NO THERE'S THE BELL (if I'm lucky), BAM, free hit, time to run. Okay, it's a Wraith match. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2244482#Comment_2244482
Thank you for that balanced, reasonable summary.
That's fair. I'm a decent looper and find there's nothing you can do against him, even in loops, ignoring his cheap, free hit in a deadzone, because he can just block the pallet and uncloak, and you can't even mindgame him to get some distance as he zooms around it.
-

Yeah my time in the game is relatively low, perhaps incredibly so compared to some (about 400 hours) but I think it's interesting that across 400 hours and hundreds upon hundreds of matches, I never had a killer say one negative thing to me ever. Meanwhile I've had probably a dozen survivors make sure I knew that they didn't approve of something I did, or didn't do. Or the killer, or the match, or almost anything.
I've had so many killers complain that they were genrushed when after 5 minutes, only one gen had been done. And so often do they whine about the fact we try to survive.
-
Killers by a ridiculous amount, but it's very clear that it's people who only ever play killer.
-

I find Wraith profoundly tedious now. I feel like disconnecting every time I see him (don't worry, I don't. But I desperately want to). Win or lose, I have zero fun facing him. Zero. I just stress out. I feel agitated. When he's not around I'm looking all over the place like "when's he gonna show up for his free hit"? When I'm not doing that, I'm taking the free hit and / or being downed by the second one.
I know, I know. Bla bla, git gud, run loops better, whatever. I don't care. I can't stand the character anymore. Fighting him is just a cheap pain in the ass.
Tbf, you can't run loops vs wraith anymore.
-
That change would definitely help deal with the issue at hand; the fact is, he was ever so slightly overbuffed to the point where he feels genuinely gross to play against. Nothing like Freddy, however still a pretty stale gameplay loop where people he chases don't even get points for their boredom.
-
Not that I'm aware of; my name is exactly the same on Steam, though.

No. They need a full rework including a massive nerf to Victor but a buff to Charlotte herself; right now, they're obscenely oppressive with no counterplay to Victor. (No, grouping up is not counterplay) The issue is that he's fast and has a gigantic hitbox, so it's so hard to miss with him and he gets around the map incredibly easily.
But if he's just straight nerfed, the killer will be terrible. I've always felt like Charlotte should have her own power separate to Victor in exchange for massively weakening the effects of Victor. Idk what they could do with her, but the entire power being Victor feels boring to me and will always be problematic.
